Stopped in passing through in order to grab a souvenir or two from the city sharing my family name. The staff and patrons were all friendly and welcoming, I look forward to stopping in again sometime when I have more time to visit the sites there.

Absolutely perfect cafe au lait! Lots of people but no line and big open space with lots of little nooks that made it really pleasant and cozy without feeling like you're on top of the next table. First visit but will be back next time I'm in town!

We went there this morning and we each got a large "autumn" latte. The lattes were very good, the young women working there (one took orders & the other was the barista) were very friendly, and the interior is large & has a good amount of seating. It's part of a store that sells cards, books, candles (pricey) and other items. However, the overwhelming theme is Christianity and that's not of interest to us - but regardless, I recommend the coffee.

This is a very great place to hang out with friends. Geared towards college-age patronage, but it caters to all ages. There is live music every once in a while that is pretty well advertised. It also sells Christian books and has plenty of comfortable seating to read. The drink/food menu is also very good. They have a monthly/seasonal drink that is unique and creative. Overall it's a very good place to be, regardless of who you are with or what you are doing.

I really like this place. Would have received 5 stars but there are times, especially first thing in the AM, when they are too slow making your drink. But good atmosphere and very good coffee. Favorite cold drink is the Mocha Granita. Hot drink? You can't go wrong with the dark chocolate Mocha.

I stopped into The Well for a little R&R while traveling in McPherson. The coffee was great, the service was good, the store was pleasant and welcoming, and there was fast Wi-Fi (which I didn't even know existed in Kansas). There was plenty of seating and the store was alive with the buzz of a small crowd of people mingling, reading, and listening to the live pianist playing live music. I have to agree with a previous reviewer who mentioned the overwhelming Christianity theme. While I am not opposed to Christianity, literally every book, item sold in the store, and song was infused with Christian ideology which can be somewhat goff-puttin to some. All the same, I think The Well has good coffee, a cozy environment, and is worth visiting.

Now that "The Hearth Room" has become "The Well," it has earned its five stars!! The music is much better (I assume its XM Radio's "the coffeehouse" or whatever... but it's a good mix). Their coffee is as good as ever, the seating has expanded, and their hours have expanded as well. THANK YOU for staying open through the evening, The Well!! I spend more hours here than I'd care to admit and have gone through probably 5 or more punch cards since the year began... oh well! I'm not ashamed! I'll shout it from the rooftops--I LOVE The Well!!

I needed a box of brewed coffee for 12 and several pastries for a business meeting - this place did not disappoint. Great quaint atmosphere, good coffee, huge cinnamon buns and more.

I do like the coffee here. The atmosphere is typical McPherson. Its quaint. Cozy, free wireless, great service, really sweet and nice people...but I can't get into the music. I'm also not a "knitter" so the sewing, religious, knitting theme isn't a "5" for me. It is my favorite place to come and work, etc when visiting my grandmother here in McPherson though! I'm sure I'll be back, and I'd recommend it if you are looking for a coffee shop with good coffee, nice people and wireless!

Looking for good coffee and perhaps some great conversation? Look no further than the Hearth Room! They are undergoing a slight renovation as I write this, but it should be completed soon, and looks to become even better! Jerry and the staff are all very amicable, and if you're a musician looking for a cool spot to play, Jerry can hook you up!
