Carb heavy with the rice and bread but oh so good. I enjoyed my drunken chicken very much. It was creamy and hearty. The bread tastes like the butter they put on popcorn at the movies. I can't wait to try the pie. The praline at $3 was a bit steep. A little too sweet for my taste but still delicious. Great staff and nice setup.

To be completely honest, Yats is one of my favorite eateries to come out of Indy. I really love the food, and I'm not afraid who knows it. I always say, get the Drunken Chicken. It's my faaaaaaave. Everything else is good, don't get me wrong... but I dream about the Drunken Chicken. If you're at Hamilton Towne Center - skip the burger, skip the pizza, GET THE CREOLE. That is all.

Now I went to college in New Orleans, so to compare this to actual Cajun food is not the most fair comparison. But... This food is very good. It isn't exactly like cajun (creole food is more of a "dish/entree" type, while cajun is quick-ish food) food in south Louisiana, but it is a good twist/alternative for up north. Yes, I would easily prefer a good comparable meal down south. But does that mean this food is anything short of great? No - it's a fantastic meal, a good vibe, and something I really enjoy having.

Nice little place. Not to much to say but it's rice topped either cajun goodness. Extremely affordable, and the bread is to die for. I highly recommend this place for a quick meal that will fill you up quickly. Good flavors but small selection.

I have never been to a Yats restaurant and had a bad experience. The staff is super laid back and friendly ( the location in Broadripple is cash only and I only had a credit card, they gave me my food for free and said 'just pay next time' ) talk about accommodating the customer! You're encouraged to sample each dish on the daily menu so you can find what you really like. All entrees are served over white rice with delicious garlic bread with the exception of the gumbo which is served in a soup bowl. I recommend ordering extra bread! The portions are decent sized and you can get 1/2 and 1/2 which offers more variety. Cajun creole is the theme and I definitely recommend this location or ANY Yats location if you're looking for something unique, affordable, and delicious!

When you're up for some spicy, gooey meat over rice, Yats will be right up your alley. It may not be your first choice with pizza and burgers right across from its storefront, but let me tell you that if your on the fence with the excellent choice in front of you near that fountain in HTC, have courage, my friend! Yats is definitely worth any risk, real or imagined. Personally, my menu item of choice is the Drunken Chicken. I'm also a fan a the gumbo if I'm in the mood for soup. Now, I won't say that there are any dull offerings on the menu, but typically, when I order anything that's not Drunken Chicken, I find myself saying, "it's not as good as Drunken Chicken." On my most recent visit, I got a half-and-half of Drunken Chicken and Black Chili. The Black Chili was excellent but still not quite as good as Drunken Chicken, but fortunately, my disappointment in Black Chili was counterbalanced with the appointment of Drunken Chicken resulting in a zero-sum meal. Expect a portion large enough to last you two meal, but if leftovers aren't your thing (why wouldn't they be?), you can order a half portion and avoid the judgey stares of your skinny (or fatty) friends.

I have already reviewed the Yats in Carmel on Old Meridian and think that generally Yats is Yats so you know what you are getting and what to expect which is excellent food at a good price. While that is true here as well I wanted to do a short review at a lower rating than I gave the Carmel location because the few times I have been they definitely give you a smaller portion of food here than they do there. If it were a one time thing you could chalk it up to a mistake but it has been every time. Now with that said it is still enough food just less than expected.

Upgrading to 5 stars...so good and very unique flavors. Went off the familiar path and went with the spinach and mushroom etouffee on last visit; so glad I did. Staff here is super friendly, food was hot and fresh. Great place for a quick bite.

Great food & the employees were awesome. The soft drink machine was down, so they were giving out coupons for a free drink for next time. The only downfall was they were out of drunken chicken which I was excited to try. I love the vibe of the restaurant and the fact that they allow you to try anything before you decide on what to order which is great for new customers!

I just had the maque choux for the first time and I am happy to report that it is fantastic. Like all of their dishes, it doesn't look like much, but pleasantly surprises with its sweet and spicy personality. I don't know what is in that butter they serve on their bread, but it is pretty addictive also. If you get a soda you'll get out of there for about $9 so the prices are pretty good, and as long as they are not too slammed your food will probably be ready inside of three minutes.

My parents and I were visiting the area for a few days. After trying out Five Guys Burgers & Fries a few days prior we decided to check this place out. While the selection is pretty small, the flavors are pretty wonderful. Prices are very reasonable. I like that there is the option to try two different items on the same plate for a little less than a dollar more for only one item. The portions are decent. I'm pretty awful about adding more seasoning to almost everything I order, and I didn't add anything in this case. The only thing I didn't care for was the toasted and buttered bread. I tried the half & half with the corn and chicken dish and a red beans and sausage item. Overall, I was impressed and would go back to a Yats again.

So I have to say I was a Yats virgin until last Friday. I don't know why but I was always scared to give the food a try but I have to say that I cannot wait to back! My girlfriend Erin suggested we go since they just opened and she's always been a big fan. I got there a few minutes early and one of the employees I think could see the "deer in the headlights" look I had on my face as I stood there and looked at the menu so he explained it to me and said anything I wanted to try, to just let him know and he would give me a taste. Erin got there and said that she really enjoys the Chili Cheese Etouttee with Crawfish. We both ordered that in a half portion but once it arrived, I could have probably eaten a whole portion because it was that good! The half portion was just enough for lunch and it came with toasted buttered bread. There were some other items on the menu so I will be back very soon!

It's been a while since I've gone, but I realize I've never written a review. The service is incredible. Granted there isn't a great deal for them to do for you, but they still act like they're happy with a six figure service sallery. I always get the B and B one of if not the only thing I can. Eat on the menu. It's alwYs perfect, deliciously balanced between sweet and spicy. Then the rice it's's served on is fantastic too. I'm quite possibly rice bias but it's actually perfect for the food. Anyways this location a constant, perfect 5/5 every time for me.

The flavor was awesome as usual, but the portion sizes were much smaller. I felt sorry for my wife. It looked like they had served her a kiddie meal! Not sure if I will be back to this location or not.

For the money you can't beat the plate of food you get! I usually get the Drunken Chicken with Extra Bread- and a Sun King cream ale if I'm not working. The atmosphere is relaxing, you almost forget you are in a mall. I sit at the bar most times and just relax for a few minutes, maybe even getting a second beer. The staff is great- always offering a great description or a sample if I am going to try something new. I've been to the Broad Ripple, 96th St. and Mass Ave locations but this one is my favorite because it is spotless and the staff is super friendly.

Service is good but it be nice to drink a beer on tap for less than 5.50 that just horrible . I asked why they stated they raised the price do to they not making money on the taps . Prior it was around 3.75-4.50 now it 5.50 to 6.88. 7 dollar beer better be gold

Went to Yats for lunch right as it opened! Great atmosphere, chill and accommodating staff, food was top notch as usual! The flavors here are top of the line! Give it a try if you haven't already, you won't regret it! Not sure what to get....ask to try a little of something that looks good and they'll let you try it! 5 stars!!

I have always loved Yats and am glad it is here at Hamilton Town Center now. The food is just as good as always. For fast, affordable food, it can't be beat!

If you like Cajun / Creole food, this stuff is delicious, fast and cheap. If you don't know if you like Cajun / Creole, you do, just go eat it. Chilli Cheese Étouffée is my personal favorite, but it's all good.

My friends and I eat at Yats AT LEAST once a week for lunch, sometimes twice. Larger portion sizes available at other locations, but maybe they are still just learning the ropes since this is the newest location. My favorite dishes are chix curry étouffée, alexio, maque choux, chix & chorizo étouffée, caribbean jerk étouffée... To name a few. My BF and BFF love the chili cheese but I don't care for crawfish. Try it, you won't regret it.
