Food was ok. If you're going to name yourself after a certain style if food, it better be spot on... I had a Benedict with red peppers and feta ... Poached eggs should have a runny yolk , mine was cooked through. Otherwise everything else was good, though the feta was scant at best, Went on a Sunday morning only waited a few minutes for a table, not that there wasn't any available but there was no staff to greet us. A few servers walked by didn't even acknowledge us, or the other couple. There were many others guests who waited for someone to greet them. Don't seat the fellow business owner by the front door and expose your weakness :) Good customer service will keep people coming back, even if the food is so so. Will I go back? Probably I wish them luck!

I'm sitting at the bar watching the bartender and servers eating behind the bar in front of guests. Service is very slow. Eggs Benedict could've used a little more hollandaise sauce. first visit here everything was mediocre.

I've been here twice now and had good experiences both times. They have not been open long and I sincerely hope they make it, a few other restaurants have already failed at this location. The Eggs Benedict was perfect, the hollandaise sauce was awesome. The decor is nice, the staff is friendly, the service was good, but no one really tried to engage us much, but neither do other restaurants in the area. Do they have a specialty? I tried the eggs benedict wondering if that was a signature item, it was good enough to be. Do they have any items they prepare differently or with a twist? If they do the servers were not telling. Again this is not unusual for the area. The only real complaint I have is both times we were there the restrooms needed to be maintained better. Being a new restaurant I hope they continue to refine their service. This may turn out to be a favorite place for many in Dyer as long as they keep their standards high.

First time here for breakfast. Ordered the cheddar and bacon biscuits and gravy!! Wow! Loved it. Girlfriend had bloody Mary's and said they were good. She had the breakfast nook bowel, but liked mine better. Over heard a table say they didn't like their pancakes... And they jumped on getting them something new.. So great service there! I'll be back!

If I could have given 0 starts i would have its only saving grace for the one star was that the manager took 20 percent off of our bill for our meal being horrible I couldn't even eat my omelette it was like they just cracked eggs on the griddle messed up the order to begin with and my friend queen beef and hash was awesome definitely out of a can my coffee cup remains empty far too long. I would definitely suggest going somewhere else maybe the spots just bad cause the tapas before it was just as horrible

Just ate a Benedict's in Dyer, NOT IMPRESSED. Waitress was just not with it, we had to ask for water 3 times before we finally got it. Asked for a larger spoon for the lukewarm oatmeal which came without brown sugar ( the cook forgot to include it).,never did get the spoon. Ordered a Eggs Benedict which I thought would be outstanding given the restaurant's name, it was so not, no lemon flavor. I had to add lemon to the sauce. The waitress didn't ask if we wanted more coffee, never asked how our meal was, or if we needed anything. My guess is she is the owners daughter. The cook and owner ask us as we left how everything was so I did mention the lemonless sauce, he said he made it, and puts lemon zest in it. I told him I like my Benedict sauce to have a lemon flavor, but I also said everyone has individual tastes and he said he has never had a complaint. I would have continued to list the other "misses" his restaurant had, but knowing that we will never return I didn't want to ruin my day by ruining his. When it closes he will get the message.

Finally a place that can cook eggs correctly! Food was good, service was great. My eggs were over medium as requested. Hash browns weren't strange and they had a normal jelly selection. We will be back.

The best thing about Benedicts is the coffee. GREAT coffee. The food was mediocre, but have only been here once. It took a long time to get our order and it was lukewarm when we received it. I will comment on the appearance of the restaurant. It was super clean, fresh, and looked fairly new. The wait staff was very friendly and looked nice and clean cut. I think I will come back and try again in the near future.

Great local restaurant. I'm not sure where the bad reviews come from. Cold breakfast and your meal was comped? The horror! My boyfriend and I had quite the opposite experience: a great meal with friendly staff. Coffee was good and my cup was always filled. I had the pancakes and he had the eggs Benedict; both were great. We'll be back!

I actually really like this place. The service is really good and the BLT is phenomenal. It's usually not too busy so getting a table is not a problem. Their hours are odd as they fluctuate without any real notice. For example, they were doing dinner and then out of nowhere they werent. Nonetheless, it's a nice nice place and I haven't had a bad experience unlike some of the people that have reviewed.

I received a note from the owner saying that it was the landlord who was so scary. He offered me a gift certificate. I liked his response - very professional. However, I would be afraid to return as long as Scary Landlord Guy was around.

I would have given this restaurant 5 stars, but the service rubbed me the wrong way. Food tasted excellent, but our waitress clearly acted like she didn't want to be there, and was not friendly at all. I will be back for the food, but not for the service!!

First, and last time we'll come here.. Dusty, freezing cold bathroom. . Cold food.. cheese in my omlette not even melted. Hubby had the smoked salmon benedict. .. looked great, but the eggs were cold and overcooked. Waitress said management took care of the bill for us .. Well, it would have been nice if they came up to us & introduced themselves. .

Not sure why people have given this place bad reviews. My husband and I go there quite often for breakfast and it has always been superb. I love their fresh baked breads, especially their veggie bread. I usually have their breakfast bowls which are always great and taste fresh. My husband really enjoys the biscuits and gravy. One thing I love about this place is that it is always consistently good. One of my pet peeves about restaurants I've visited is the lack of consistency in the food; one day it could be good, the next day it can be really bad. Benedict's is not like that at all. I've never been disappointed!

I love this place. The new pumpkin cheesecake swirl french toast is fantastic. All their breads are homemade except the white and english muffin. The owner is friendly, spirited, and informative. The atmosphere is quiet, not to cozy, beautiful decor and quick good service. Did not wait long for order. Servers were friendly and enthusiastic. I would definately be back. Coffee is average. :)

Given the name, I was very excited to try this place enough to drive 3 hours round trip. Walking in the door, we were greeted by the smell of a newly cleaned grease trap, we decided to stay anyway. Service was prompt and efficient with menu's, a generous pour of coffee and order taking. When asked, our Server offered her favorites on the menu. I had the Benedict Florentine; non-toasted English muffin with blanched, soggy baby spinach leaves and a properly poached egg that had not been properly drained of excess water, namesake sauce was thin and watery; accompanied with underwhelming hash-browns. Although my friend ordered the traditional Benedict, much of the same experience I had, he had. Again, going to a place named Benedicts, expectations were high perhaps too high.

My fiance and I had just got done running a race in Chicago and being tired we decided to head home (Highland) and eat in the Region rather than stick around in the city. It was mid afternoon, just about 3pm on a Satuday and the place was just about empty, they were still open because they are now serving Dinner starting at 4:30. Well first we started off with mimosas, we both wanted to try the Key-Lime Pineapple, it was awful, very bitter, not the sweetnes I expected with a key lime flavor. He ordered Apple Cinnonman French Toast and I had the Country Benny, when we received our food, we were the only ones in the restaruant. The waitress, asked if we needed anything. We did need silverware, butter, ketchup, syrup and jelly. She got the silverware right away but then walked away to start closing out her register because she was leaving. I had to get up to request, ketchup, then butter and sryup, after she told us that she would bring us those items. She obviously had one thing on her mind, leaving. Food was ok. Nothing special. My eggs were overcooked. I took a look at the dinner menu and it looked good, but the service makes me not want to come back.

Love this place. Good food with great service. Way underrated for the area. Fresh and clean with good prices. Love the fresh squeezed orange juice to the home made breads. We even tried dinner and that was outstanding. Nice job, my wife and I will be back

Seriously don't waste your time and don't waste your money. You're Better off eating at the damn speedway next door. I Just paid $10 for them to give me nacho chips with a sprinkle of shredded cheese on top. I'm not want to go out of my way to negatively review somebody but this was very a waste of my money. I should have asked for my damn money back. Then the waitress had the nerve to look at me like I was crazy for asking for cheese on my nachos...

Went there to try the Traditional Eggs Benedict. Awful! Eggs running, Hollandaise Sauce bland, Hash browns were a combination of burnt and under cooked. The clientele is mostly older people that can't taste anything, which would explain the flavorless food. Never going there again!

Been here a few times now It's not "bad" but, there's really nothing that is making me want to tell people "You gotta try this place". I mean, yeah it's a nice clean looking place, has a fairly open layout and there's a cool juice bar too but, as far as food goes I'm not overly impressed :/ The inside of the restaurant is really nice, cool lights and big windows to let in some outdoor light. Tables are nice and big enough that you're not bumping elbows with the person sitting next to you. Service is A-OK - quick to get your order, they know the menu pretty well, are nice 'n friendly and they usually do a fair job of keeping my coffee filled up (Chris loves coffee). Onto the food. For me, the food was nothing special to be honest. It just seemed so... IDK bland. For example the Stuffed Pepper Soup (had it once as soup of the day) was just plain flavorless, it took - and this is only a slight exaggeration - a dozed shakes of salt and Louisiana Hot Sauce to get any kind of flavor out of it. Another thing that was a turn off on the soup was the lovely layer of grease (probably from the ground beef) taking up the top 1/8 inch of the bowl... bleh. Biscuits and Gravy was ok, the gravy could've been seasoned a bit more but still enjoyable enough since I was pretty hungry. Their Breakfast Bowls and Omelettes are decent, large portions and definitely shareable. But again, they are all kinda lacking in the flavor department. Unfortunate because with all the deliciousness that goes into them you'd figure 'HOLY FLAVOR EXPLOSION BATMAN!' but no... Pancakes though... I thought they were pretty good, little butter n some syrup and you're good to go. Oooh, here's a plus, the family took the grandparents there - they don't like overly-flavorful food, so they loved the place. I'll probably go there from time to time and hopefully will eventually be able to say that the kitchen has improved. Fingers Crossed for Flavor

Me and my boyfriend wanted to try a new place out and came across Benedict. It's got a nice decor but very quiet, no big deal. There was also no silverware, salt, pepper, or creamers at the table. I asked if there were turkey alternatives but there weren't any. Some places don't offer turkey products, but I was just confused as to why they had gluten free but not turkey? Anyways....I ordered the protein breakfast because I wanted meat, and he ordered the cheddar bacon biscuits and gravy. Everything is incredibly bland! My chicken tasted boiled with no flavor, my boyfriend said his food tasted like it came out of a bag. The best thing was the toast, which I devoured because I was starving. My boyfriend said he should have made us turn around when he heard another couple complain. If you're looking for a decent breakfast place, this is not it.

How can you be out of cole slaw on Monday at noon? No substitution was offered, not even a spoonful of cottage cheese. And of course, they charged full price for the reuben, without the cole slaw. Sandwich was unremarkable. It needed something, maybe 1,000-island dressing, as it was pretty dry. Salmon with corn salsa was also dry and bland. HINT: Jewel is right down the street....they have cole slaw...at least make an effort. Ladies restroom had no towel roll so they handed you (2) dinner napkins on the way in. Really ?? Either they need a new 'supply clerk' or they can't afford to keep at least an extra towel roll on hand. Waitress was pleasant but NEVER refilled the iced tea. Can't make myself go back, it's not worth the $$$ or the hassle. Don't be lured in by their newspaper coupons, either. Still too expensive for what they serve.

It's probably always best to start a restaurant review by saying something nice about the establishment. I'm not sure if this is true but that's how I'm going to do it. Benedict Breakfast and Lunch has friendly employees and the food is reasonably priced. With that said, I had a bad first impression of Benedict. The restaurant has three tables positioned outside on the sidewalk, directly in front the business. I know what you're thinking, "I like to enjoy the morning air while I dine." Well I can see that, but your enjoyment might be short lived if a car with a large front end attempts to park, and pins you against the front of the building. Having outside seating is a nice touch, when you have the space. As you'll read, this food is definitely not to die for. Once you get into the building it will become clear to you why those three tables were squeezed between the building and the parking lot. THERE ARE WAY TO MANY TABLES IN THIS PLACE! I don't like having to whisper across the table to my wife to ensure that cooperate spies, who my be following me, don't hear my latest trade secrets. GIVE ME SOME ELBOW ROOM! A fat guy sat back to back with me and our chairs were locked together. We were wedged in tighter than Affleck and Damon. Again, the wait staff was pleasant and attentive, but it looked as if only of the girls was wearing an actual Benedict uniform. Other than her, the waitresses where only set apart from the customers by their khaki short shorts. The breakfast food was just like mom makes. Thais is exactly why I don't need to ever return to Benedict Breakfast and Lunch, at least while my mom remains among the living. Honestly, the food was forgettable. So forgettable that 95% of the other reviewers of the restaurant, on this site, have no idea that the restaurant is named Benedict and not Benedicts. I'm pretty sure I won't be going back to Benedict. I didn't get a chance to use their bathroom facilities so I'm going to assume that they're very clean and well decorated, like the dining area. I assume there was at least one, two seater table positioned somewhere between the sink and the warm air hand dryer. Just makes sense with what they are trying to accomplish. This restaurant needs branding in a major way. While sitting at the table I, myself couldn't remember if it was actually called Benedict or Benedicts. Aside from the menu, I didn't see anything with the restaurant's name on it. I'm surprised that so many others thought so highly of Benedict, probably ate off the lunch menu.

This place is actually called "Benedict", not "Benedicts", but whatever. The food was good, nice portions. We got there around 9:00 on a Sunday and it was almost empty, and by 9:15-9:30, it was pretty full.

As promised 9-22-2013, I did give this local business another shot. Once again, I was disappointed. The wait this time was not bad...we were in and out in 30 minutes. The food was alright... It is unlikely I will venture into this establishment again.

Yeah ... Not a big fan. They did have a full bar, however, which I do appreciate. Basically this is your run of the mill breakfast joint. Nothing special. The omelette was sub par. The service was sub par. The decor was pleasant but there are better alternatives for breakfast a stones throw away if that's what you're interested in.

I am not THAT picky and I will not go back to this place ever. I am so mad that I spent $30+ here tonight. Me, my husband, and my two kids were the only ones in there tonight and I can probably guess why. First of all, this place was freezing...I did not take my coat off the entire time I was there. Second of all, something in there was very smelly. The minute I walked in I could only smell oil/grease and when we sat down in the only booth that they had, all we could smell was something that smelled rotten. The best thing to compare it to was a sewer. Of course on the table behind us there was a candle warmer with a candle that smelled like a tanning bed, which by the way is still engrained in my nostrils. I am still smelling that restaurant and I have been home for two hours. YUCK! Seriously, I have never heard of masking smells in a restaurant and the candle was almost as bad as the sewer smell. Thirdly, the place feels really dirty. Dusty, smelly...ew! And fourth, I ordered the chipotle chicken wrap. This wrap was the worse. It tasted like dirty lettuce. There was no flavor and I am not kidding...it tasted like dirt. It was gross. My husband ordered the BLT and got an entirely different sandwich. When he finally got the sandwich he ordered, he thought that it was just ok (He said "the bread is good"). They did let us take the sandwich home so that was nice. Plus, our waitress Heather was really sweet and was great at getting us refills, silverware, ketchup, etc...Either way the atmosphere was horrible. I am so over bad food and dirty restaurants in Northwest Indiana!!!

Not a big reviewer of places...usually use yelp to see how places are reviewed by others before I go myself. Should have looked on here first!! Breakfast this morning...not good. Walked in....place was dirty...floor needed to be swept badly...was only 8am so could not imagine the dirt and crumbs were just from this morning....had to be from last night. Service was OK....but was seated in a back room and not in regular dining area when there were plenty of open tables. Coffee was weak...Cinnamon Roll French Toast was cold..."homemade" corned beef hash was out of a can....just not a good experience... more than likely will not go back.
