They always have good food and drinks on tap. Huge beer selection, so expect a brand new list every time you go. The staff is pretty good most of the time. The only downer to this place is one time they lost my friends debit card and she was out of state. It was a big ordeal and the manager told us they she never saw the card when she was the one who rang us up, but everyone makes mistakes.

Disgusting and Bland Food.... Just unacceptable hot wings tasted like pineapples and Chipotle wings tasted like absolutely nothing. I had to add sauce and salt to the Chipotle wing they were just plain awful. I have never drank toilet water but the drunken shrimp are as close as I'm ever going to get. They were so bad and rancid they did have a taste but it was so bad it made me gag. Seriously they should probably focus on 10 items that they can make well. The menus has 3005 items and they cant get it right. The service is high schoolish not professional. It took forever to get our tab after the offensive food we wanted to run out screaming. There is just too many options in the area to waste your hard earned money in this good awful place. If you are going for a beer this place is good but please do yourself a flavor and dont order any food.

Good beer, bad service, mediocre food. I've been here numerous times mostly for a drink. The food is ok, I suggest the truffle fries. The service is awful. The waiter we had tonight seemed new, but I think he was just incompetent. He brought food without silverware, took drink orders from half the table and walked away. Every time we needed anything we had to flag him down, he never stopped by on his own. No wonder his mom was outside waiting for him after his shift.

good food, good beer selection. Its a nice place to catch a football game or go out with a buddy or two for drinks. But its not very popular, doesn't seem like it attracts a lot of attention in the burbs.

Been in here and few times. I really had high hopes for this places. The inside is very well done. However, the staff acted very stuck up towards me each time I was there. The food is mediocre at best. And the worst of all they added extra drinks to the bill. I questioned the second time I was there and paid it. But, on the third vist, I counted and made a complaint about it. This review furthers the complaint. Now I just go to Chuck's or the Neutral Zone. F this place!!!

I did indeed write a 1-star review, but that bad experience was definitely a one-off. Since that time the service has improved on every subsequent visit, they have more special events (brewery tap takeovers, etc.) and an expanded and revamped menu offers great selection. (I'm still crossing my fingers that they will bring the Cuban sandwich back).

They were starting to earn my trust back again, then we came in for $1 draft night. ... service was horrible, totally unprepared. After waiting 5 minutes we finally managed to flag down someone to get a menu. Food was good as usual but service was slow and forgetful. Then to top it off they wouldn't let us use our gift card to pay because of the $1 draft night, despite having no restrictions listed. This is the 2nd time this has happened,of course not until it's time to pay. fool me once shame on me, fool me twice...apparently shame on the waitress because she's the one that lost the tip. If you can never use promotions on special nights and there are specials every night what's the point in giving out promos? Bye tap house

Horrible service. If there is a sign that says "seat yourself," you'd expect the staff to be paying attention to patrons that come in...unfortunately, not the case. One waitress came to the empty table next to us twice to wipe it down and didn't give any kind of acknowledgment. After some time, we decided it was time to leave. The manager/bartender even said to us "Have a good night, guys!" We sat clearly in front of the bar; did he fail to see we were not served either? It's too bad. My husband and I had been here before and it was decent. My mom, dad, husband, and I were debating where to eat tonight, and my dad was interested in going here, so my husband and I thought we'd give it another shot. Fail. Sorry, TapHouse. No interest in coming back.

Great place to go with your family or on a Friday nite to watch a game or two. The beer menu is off the chain and if you are a stout fan this is the spot. They have nitro milk stout on tap which is my personal favorite. The food is always good and the environment is great. The chicken melt is the bomb diggity. Awsome tap house glad your part of westmont.

Love this Place. Thank you so much to the staff at Tap House Grill in Westmont. I had my Bday party there with 20-25 people this past weekend and they were amazing! The waitress's were extremely attentive and so helpful and friendly. Everyone of my friends said that they would totally go back there anytime as well as hold an event there! I completely recommend this place. Plus the food and drinks were delish.

I've been to the Tap House several times and it was always alright. Not great, not bad. The last time we went we decided we won't be going anymore. While our waitress was very nice, she was inattentive. It took over twenty minutes to get our check and it wasn't that crowded to allow her a bit of slack. The beer menu is pretty extensive, which is nice, but the food was just okay. Nothing to write home about. I won't recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal, but if they want to watch the game and have a few beers, it's a good place.

I've been here several times and always get a great meal friendly service and awesome beer selection. They have a very nice menu pretty diverse burgers are fantastic sandwiches are great you will not be disappointed when you eat here. Beer selection is great if you are in to craft beers this is the place to go. I sit at the bar most of the time by myself and the bartenders are always great friendly and prompt service.

Ate dinner here again tonight. This time I had the House Special "Meat and Potatoes". I have to give a big shout to the cook tonight, Props to you. My steaks were cooked to perfection and they were the best I have had in a looonnnngggg time. The whole meal was awesome. If I lived here, this place would be on my frequent visit list. BTW the beer selection is awesome as well. WELL DONE!!!!

BEST OF THE 'BURBS: #3 -- TAP HOUSE GRILL Doesn't it just figure that one of the best restaurant/bars in the Chicagoland area is conveniently located only 2 miles from my childhood home? If I still lived in Darien, I would come here to eat & drink once a week. Easily. Since they opened their doors 4/5 years ago, Tap House has garnered quite a loyal following among their patrons (yours truly is one of them). I have never had anything less than a 5* experience here, whether it was getting a beer and an appetizer, or pigging out on one of their sensational entrees. The beer selection is VAST.....almost too vast; there's an entirely separate menu for draft, bottled, and canned beers, as well as a chalkboard that rotates out 'beers of the day/week/month'. The servers are highly knowledgeable about their brews and their food. Several of the servers are pretty cute and have even given great suggestions about things to order. I've ordered a multitude of different things here over the past few years, and not one of them was sub par. Highlights include the 'THG stuffed burger', which is filled with melted pepper jack cheese and diced jalapenos. The 'four napkin pork nachos' are heavenly and should be shared by two people, or one extremely fat person (like me). The boneless wings are the best I've ever had, and I have had a LOT of boneless wings. As with most places that offer it, they come in honey BBQ, Asian zing whatever, and hot buffalo......but there's a hidden wing sauce that's not on the menu; it's called Blazin' BBQ, and holy shitsnacks is it H-O-T. There are very few edible items in this world that can make me sweat, much less have a noticeable effect on my demeanor. These wings do both. They're straight from satan's hollow, the sauce forged in the 7th circle of hell, and served by Dante. But yet I get them time and time again, because the flavor is terrific and I'm a closet masochist. But the next day.......ohhh lordy lord, I wish I owned a bidet....... Indoor ambiance is perfect--dim lighting, dark wood, comfy booths, plenty of flatscreen TVs, and a very unusual (but extremely cool-looking) back-lit shark decoration. Hard to describe, but once you see it you'll go "OHHHH, that is actually pretty slick" and then, like me, you'll want one hanging on your wall at home. In addition to all of the above, they have reduced-price burger Wednesdays, trivia night Tuesdays, and occasionally host a beer + food pairing as part of a private event sponsored by some local brewery. Tap House is a stand-out neighborhood spot, and if I didn't live so far away, I would regularly give them my business.....I'm a fan. In fact, I'm a HUGE fan. I can only think of two restaurants in the 'burbs that can top Tap House, because Tap House is tip-top. #alliterationFTW

Okay, okay, okay. . My last review wasn't that great. The service was bad that day & it frustrated me. Yeah, they were busy but that usually doesn't affect our awesome tap house personnel. That said, the server that was off her game that day, has stepped it up the last two times we visited. .( I'm wondering if she read my review) either way, I'm going to chalk it up to a bad day. There are two things I look for in a restaurant. . Good service & great food. . When one falls short (especially at one of our favorite places) they need to know about it. I love this place & hope they continue to be awesome.

Every time I come here, it's fantastic. Never a wrong order, never an issue with staff or even getting a table , beer menu is usually extensive, food has never disappointed , even their pickle side dish is beyond what I anticipated. I will frequently done here. Recommended!

We arrived here around 10:00pm. Took a seat at the bar, and were greeted quickly with menus and the drink list. We ordered 2 beers, both were good. We ended up getting appetizers, which were $5 each. I ordered the Pork Nachos and my buddy ordered the fried bacon. Both were very good. While we were there, we were checked in on a few times, which was at normal intervals. My only complaint was that there was no Guinness. -------------------------------- Service - 5/5 Food Quality- 5/5 Serving Size - 5/5 Speediness - 5/5 Atmosphere - 5/5 Overall: 5/5 Suggestions for Management: You have a great selection of beer. You should consider bringing in different types, such as Guinness, different Leinies, and more Two Brothers

Just wanted to say thank you to the management and staff of the taphouse grill! We had a blast last night at your establishment. They were friendly, accommodating, and welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed the $3 yes you can special! Please book your next company outing here. You won't be disappointed!

Great burgers, awesome beers and great service. Glad this place is walking distance to my house, so I can enjoy the libations and not worry about driving. Try the THG stuffed burger... absolutely delish, went very well with my Duvel beer. It's actually a good place for kids too, my daughter loves their mini-corndogs and the mac&cheese. Only thing I think they need to improve on is making sure the sound is Louder during a bears game.

Food is really good. A little more upscale for a bar and grill. Beer selection amazing. Like this location even more than the Plainfield one.

  • Elle W.

Their waiting staff is always extremely pleasant! The food is good, the drinks are better. The one and only thing I absolutely hate about this place is that they are always understaffed. This could be a 5 star place if they just had more people taking care of all of the tables.

  • Melissa D.

Absolutely love this place. I am behind on my reviews as we've been there twice now. Went for the first time with my boyfriend - EXCELLENT food. I have a gluten sensitivity - wait staff and kitchen staff worked with my needs totally to make one of the dishes in a way I can eat it. Their beer punch card is a really neat feature to drink the beers on tap - we haven't made it all around to fill one card completely. On our second visit, came here another night while the Hawks were on TV, service was still excellent and were happy to find that the establishment is very kid friendly. (Other families were there as well.) Thanks - we'll see you again soon!

First time here on a Saturday for lunch. It was not crowded, but I've heard nights usually are. They have a lot of extra touches that make the place special including hooks in front of the bar stools for purses and a fire place in the center surrounded by comfy couches if you're simply stopping in for a drink with friends. There are booths and tables and we were able to seat ourself. Nice atmosphere with classic rock playing. The waitress didn't know much about the 88 beer choices but the bar tender was extremely knowledgable. We ordered the beer cheese soup, steak and black bean chili, drunken shrimp, and the grilled buffalo chicken wrap with side salad. The cheese soup was amazing! The shrimp was a little spicy with too much toasted bread but it was good to dip in. The wrap was a healthier version then wings but still gave you the blue cheese and BBQ kick. Left hand sawtooth ale was similar to a nice Irish cream ale like argus Mc Caffreys. New favorite bar to stop into!

Quite disappointed. This used to be one of my favorite hangouts when I lived in Westmont. I don't know if it's new management, or if the old management just stopped caring but last night was the worst experience I've had here. We usually got good service at the bar, and the food was always good enough to excuse the gap. But yesterday, the bartender acted like she was almost annoyed that we were ordering things and taking her away from her - friends? Regulars? Either way, she pretty much straight up ignored us. It's not like it was closing time - it was 7pm on a Sunday and the Hawks game had just started. But the bar was nearly empty and now I understand why. All four of us are or were in the service industry, so usually we're the first to make excuses for a lapse in service. However, it was pretty blatant our bartender didn't care when 3 of the 4 of us had empty glasses, she made eye contact, then proceeded to chat up someone else at the bar who had a full glass in front of them. The food was sub par - the calamari was rubbery & chewy, the cheese curds were mostly breading (usually my favorite menu item!), and when my friend asked for cheese sauce for his fries, she brought a gritty, cold cheese spread. She then ignored us again for about 10 mins, never bothering to ask how our food was. Again, I'm usually the first to defend anyone in the service industry. This was just very disappointing and none of us will be returning.

Food is still great! They've even added some lighter options to the menu over the past year. Seems like they've hired some new servers and bartenders who are much more friendly!!! Beer selection is still decent. Wish they had a few more options for the female crowd (fruit beers, hard rootbeer, etc).

Second time around, The Tap House truly won me over. They have a phenomenal beer selection. The menu does not disappoint either. On the first visit here, we felt our waitress was less than attentive. However, this second time we had a waitress in training who we couldn't even tell it was her first day until she told us. The other waitress training her was equally awesome. Both ladies were great - checked on us frequently without being overbearing. We enjoyed their smiles and especially appreciated that they did not get offended when we decided to move to the bar after we finished dinner. The bartender gets equal accolades here... I had a pretty tough time deciding on my 3rd round and she was quite patient with me. In fact, didn't even give me remote attitude when I asked for a cola between rounds. The ambiance here is more that of a restaurant.. more booths and tables. But you seat yourself. I'm definitely going to be coming back for dinner a few more times. The Bacon, blue cheese, mushroom burger was awesome. Their Bavarian pretzels come hot to your table and they seem so fresh. I saw several other items that I'd like to try.

I've been coming here for years. The tater-tachos and most of the other food is delicious. The couches near the fireplace are a nice comfortable alternative than a typical table. They have a wide selection of beers. The patio is big but underdeveloped..could be way cooler! The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the service can be shoddy at times. Also, they serve Pepsi or RC or something nasty that is NOT Coke.

  • Annette M.

Best stuffed burger around made with cheese, jalapeños and bacon. Not too spicy. Served with tater tots and their homemade ranch. $5 burger nights every Tuesday. Service getting better every week. Tap House is worth the try. It's addictive. Legit chefs in the kitchen.

My wife and I went here for the first time for her birthday. Holy cow! The beer list is extensive and is updated constantly. The floor plan allows for a ridiculous amount of room between tables (which is super nice). The booths are huge, and you can sit on the couches there and watch sports. The burgers are absolutely fantastic! I got the one that comes on a pretzel bun and it was melt-in-your-month amazing. Also, they have a homemade style Kit-Kat. Two words: GET IT. This place is great, reasonably priced for the amount of food you get, and everyone there seems really friendly. We will be going back ASAP!

We were quite surprised to see the park lot was half full when we came here around 4pm of a Friday. It looked like lots of us left the work a few hours early to just hang out here. A nice place to hang out indeed. The appetizers (Fried mushroom and Chicken) were fine. The skinny Margarita was pretty nice. I saw a mile long beer selections on the menu which could be a nice option for my hubby next time. What I liked the most is the atmosphere. Just a place I feel comfortable and I could relax. Other people's noise was a perfect background for our own conversation. The services were awesome. The waitress was nice and checked on us often but not intrusive. The only thing I didn't like what the floor was kind of sticky under our table. It is great place for an after work get-together or a girls night out.

  • Michael R.

The 4-star rating is based on my combined trips to this location-I haven't gone to a different one and maybe will. Overall, it's exactly the kind of place I like (in no particular order)-flat screen tv's with sports, background music (although the play list can get odd at times), an enormous selection of craft beers on tap, and many others in bottles or cans of all types, and finally, bar food/pub grub. They have a good menu with a variety of items. I often get the THG burger with Merkt's Cheese (a flashback to my youth) and tots. Typically there is so much Merkt's on the burger, you can fork some over onto the tots. Their burgers, sandwiches and wraps are good in terms of variety and quality of meat, condiments and sauces (watch out for the buffalo chicken wrap, the sauce is a legitimate hot and is "creeper"). Beer choices are ever-changing, but there are many options for any beer palate. Monthly theme beers/brewers, and daily specials can be found on their website. Service is friendly and attentive, though sometimes they're a bit understaffed and food can come out slow, but you don't go to a place like this for fast food or if you're out for a "quick bite" anyway. I recommend it for anyone wanting good bar food and/or a variety of great cold tap options with no pretense.

Very good specials when I went. Wide selection of food and beer. Being from Buffalo I was pretty happy with the wings. Can't wait to give it another chance.

The Hubby and I came in to meet with friends for a few drinks this past Saturday afternoon. Since it was in the middle of the day they weren't crowded. We didn't have to wait for our drinks and the bartender, Kristy, had a great recommendation for a replacement beer for me since they no longer have my favorite.

  • Ken B.

Great menu. The food is awesome. Great burgers, salads and pasta dishes. Appys are good too. I thought the mixed drinks were kind of pricey but beers are reasonably priced. I had a steak salad the last time there and that was amazing. Also had some kind of pulled pork nacho appetizer that nearly filled us up. Great place for dinner and boozing or just to meet up with buddies for a beer or ten.

Ive been here a good handful of times, love the location and beer selections. 80% of the time food is great. The first few times I was there I had great servers. The last two times were subpar. Its a bummer they cant play bands or music outside but im sure its due to noise ordinance so I dont hold that against them. Today I had a house salad with ranch, shredded cheese and chicken. Please dont mix the dressing in, tap house! All it does is get really really watered down and the lettuce gets wilty and croutons get mushy. That was a real disappointment, was looking forward to a good ranch salad. And please no celery, it has such a distinct taste that it ruins the rest of the salad. Friend had sandwich and fries, fries were sooo salty. Please use less salt, I can salt them myself if I dont think there's enough. Cant take the salt back though. And then the bloody Mary's. Not a fan, wanted to like it cause I loooove bloodys but not this one. Friend couldnt even drink hers, to spicy. Now I like spice so I was sort of ok with that, it was the flavor of the bloody I didn't like. I gave it one less star due to this experience today and lack of good service. Note to servers: please for the love of God, do not bring up how you found old tater totes when sweeping to the rest of the staff. Especially at the server station at the bar while guests are eating within ear shot. I was eating man, come on thats gross.

On my search for an open restaurant on Labor Day, I ended up at Tap House Grill. The menu has changed once again. Sad to report, the grilled chicken sandwich on the hoagie roll is still MIA. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the new BLT. Plate presentation was attractive. Half the sandwich was piled on the other, with a large toothpick through the center. The bread was lightly toasted and the sandwich had a rich honey flavor. Perhaps it came from the bacon, or a glaze. Either way, it had a special touch. The tater tots were in good form, as usual: crispy and non-greasy. Props to the Tap House for this menu improvement.

I've never had a bad bite let alone a bad meal here. The draft beer selection is one of the best in the entire Chicago area! Their only downfall is the service at tables can be slow...

    (5)
  • Javier D.

Comfortable place to have a nice craft brew and delicious food. I recommend the siracha wings. I'm a regular at this place and my only pet peeve is the service can be slow in dining area. Otherwise pull up a chair at bar and things are more harmonious.

I seem to be hitting all the places with many beers on tap. They call it a grill since they have big items on the menu, but if you come with friends and chill at the couches, order small plates and craft brews then its a fine gastropub. On the night we came in, there was a special on Goose Island beer, I got to drink Sophie after a long time and loved it. The Adobe Chicken wrap was a good alternative to the buffalo chicken which you can find just about anywhere. I need to come back here to try other food because the over all quality was higher than similar places. The service was also prompt and friendly...we got a souvenir glass to take home! Perks!! I need to come back sooner than later, its a bit out of my way in Westmont but a great place to hang out with friends. The dining room is also a pretty good place for a laid back date night.

Solid 3.5 star place. They have a really decent beverage menu, including specific beer of the day specials. I was happy to try some things I had not seen before and they also have a pretty wide local selection. Lots of things on draft and even more things in bottles. They also have $1 samples so you can build your own beer tasting flight, which is fun. On previous visits, we have enjoyed the burgers - very tasty, those. This most recent visit, we only had appetizers. I was a little apprehensive about fried bacon but it turned out to be really evil and delicious and perfectly breaded and fried, salty, crispy goodness. I also liked the cheese curds and the hummus and pita plate - decent array of different bits and bites to try. Service was a bit above average and our server did a nice job of recommending beers for one of our party members who was unsure about what to try. Nice little place - worth a visit.

There is an extensive beer list, which is nice, but some of the beers are very over-priced. Also, $2 burger Wednesdays is great, in theory, but they charge extra for anything you add to the burger, so you still end up paying about $10 for your meal, when all is said and done. If you like hard-to-find beers, then this place is probably for you.

This was my first time ever going to the tap house and I am definitely going back soon! The beer selection is amazing and if you are not sure about something you can't try a small glass of it for only a dollar. The food was really good. I had the wings and the pretzel appetizer and the sauces that come with it were all delicious. My sister for a burger and she said it was also delicious. Another thing that really made the trip was the bartender we had. His name was Hitch. He was hilarious was always close by and checked up on us a lot. I brought my girlfriend with me and she asked for a boring old bud light and he made her try something else. Because come on. You are at a tap house!!! I would definitely recommend this to anyone and I plan on going back very soon!!

A bit concerned when I first walk in for an early lunch, somewhat empty and there was a definite smell of vinegar in the air? However, I had a burger and my wife had the fish and chips and both were good, also good service, prices and large beer selection

It's happened. As I enter my late 20's, I find that I'm starting to enjoy pretentious beer, or "craft beer" as they call it in my country. Those days of picking up a 30 pack of Ice House to bring to the box social, and "case racing" are over. Here are the days where you order up a $8 beer, sniff to guess the ingredients, and marvel over it's complexity. Why is this relevant? Because if you like craft beer, this is your spot. And I've also seen one of the most amazing bloody marys made here too. The food is great as well. I ordered a Cuban sandwich with a side of tater tots. Yes. Tater tots. And it was magnificent. Don't act like you're too good for tater tots. All of the afore mentioned plus a pretty nice staff will keep me coming back again and again.

great staff, great food, and great selection of craft beer! I found the pricing to be very reasonable along with there daily specials. I've tried other Tap House locations and this one is by far the best!

  • Craig S.

This is a fairly regular Friday after work beer and food stop for us. Generally a good beer selection, and the food's petty good. It's loud in here, and it gets louder as the night progresses. In the summer you can escape the noise by sitting on the patio, but that closes earlyish, so don't count in it past 9:30. Parking can be a bit of a bear, in that they lack adequate parking on-site. The former Indian restaurant next door has an empty lot you're probably safe using until something else opens in the spot.

Second trip to the Tap House Grill. First time at this location. I heard they had some good wings and a good beer selection so I had to check it out. I took my 15 year old son with since he loves wings too. The buffalo hot wings are seriously some of the best I have ever had! My boy agreed. We have a new wing place that's for sure. He ordered the root beer and it was tasty. Me I had a hard time choosing a beer from their huge selection. Lots of tasty stuff on tap. The rest of the menu looked good and I will be back soon to try something else. The atmosphere is real nice. Lots of TVs, couches around the fire place, nice seating everywhere. The staff was super nice too. If you are looking for a nice place to enjoy some good food and good beers with some friends you have to try the Tap House Grill!

We've eaten here a few times and attended a Revolution beer dinner once. Usually we are happy with the food, beer and the service. This time the service was disappointing. My daughter chose taphouse for her 16th birthday dinner. When we asked our server if they do anything for birthdays he said "no, this is a bar". Really??? Is that why you have a full menu along with a kids menu? Is that why I saw a good number of kids there and people drinking pop with their dinners? What a crappy response!! He should've just said "no". Also, we barely saw him and had to flag him down for a $3.50 three floyds robert the bruce (that was an awesome deal). The cheap burgers and tater tots were also very good. But, I don't know if we will return to this location.

Very unique and hip menu items. Tons of options for beer. Efficient (though not particularly friendly or engaging) customer service. Excellent fried pickles (these are the first I've had that are a little sweet). The restaurant was VERY loud- the music was loud but also just the sound in general was a little overwhelming. The booths are cool but are in half circles (so you can see everyone else in the room but it's hard to carry on a conversation with how you are seated and with how loud it is in the restaurant). I was disappointed in the chicken fingers. I think I was expecting them to be like the ones at Village Tavern. To each his own. I can tell why people love it here, though I don't think I'm their target demographic. :)

This place was pretty decent. I went with my family on my birthday. Service was good and the food was pretty good. I had the bean burger which was decent but the beef burgers where good. The tater tots where awesome and my birthday cake was amazing. The beer selection was huge. I also liked the couches surrounding the fire.

We stayed in Westmont during our trip to Chicago. Found this place on Yelp looked really cool by the pictures. We had thought they would have 312 on tap but served it to us in a can...interesting. The food, oh the food. It was terrible. My salad was room temperature like it had never been in the fridge. The kids thank goodness they were starving otherwise I think they would have refused to eat. Overall it was very disappointing and overrated.

5 STAR***** Beer menu! Ok service:/ Don't order drunken shrimp.

  • Andy M.

A more upscale looking place than I expected. The place looked great and the service was good the only problem I had is the portions were very small. The order of fries were so stingy and most places would double the number I was served for the price on their menu. The shrimp was also way too spicy so be aware of anything spicy you might order. a more of a lounge than the sports bar outside look of the place.

Stopped in recently and grabbed some appetizers and beers. Tried the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus and Apple & Brie Flatbread. Both were solid appetizers that paired well with our beverages, and plenty of food for the two of us. The brie could've been melted a bit more, but it sufficed. Definitely surprised at the level of food Tap House puts out. Not to mention the killer beer menu. Where else could you find Dogfish Head Chicory Stout for $3.50 a pint?! Another pleasant experience at Tap House.

Look, I don't drink beer, so if your looking to ask me about the gazillion beer choices they have, this isn't the review for you, but the fact is, even when the place is packed, it's a great place to go. The service is always good, everywhere I have ever sat has been comfortable and I have never been overlooked by the staff. Despite the fact that I am not looking for beer, lager, or ale, they always serve me with a smile and make a mean martini, and I have a wonderful time. I can say I am not overly impressed with the menu, but I get the impression that they kinda specialize in liquor, call me crazy.... So they definately get my big old stamp of approval!

I am giving 1 star because I had one of the worst eating experiences here one could fathom. Why? Because I was nearly hospitalized and died because of this place. I decided I would try this place and when I arrived the place was very clean looking with a fancy sports bar appeal to it. The staff was clean cut and friendly so I figured the food would be good too and I was in for a treat. I was with my fiancee and I ordered the calamari to split with my finacee as an appetizer which was pretty good. Then for my main course I ordered the Kobe burger. I thought wow they have a Kobe burger, I can't wait to try this. Mind you I ordered it rare which was not the smartest thing to do but hey I trusted this place and figured Kobe beef is high quality beef, I should not have to worry. The burger was only $13 which was very cheap for a Kobe burger. when it came up it was not too bad not mind blowing but pretty good. As I exited the parking lot I felt a horrid grumble in my abdomin, I figured eh it's just the grease I will be alright. Turned out it was a bad ride home because I felt worse. I got home and got relief and eventually went to bed (well food poisoning takes about 12-24 hours to take full effect. By the afternoon I was in horrific shape, I was deathly ill and had to run to the bathroom every 5 minutes, until I finally lost control of my bodily functions. I turned pale, and began cold sweats. I grew weak and dehydrated, I tried to drink water but it would not stay in me. I was one step away from calling 911 but eventually it died down and I had to spend a few days recovering while my body was not in harmony. I did research on Kobe beef and learned that there is no such thing as a $13 Kobe burger, mainly because the meat is extremely hard to come by. Most restaurants charge $30 minimum for a Kobe burger. So what the hell did I eat!!!!???? WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY STILL SERVING!!!!???? Buyer Beware!! If you ignore my warning, please, at least do not order that Kobe burger, or get it well done. I think Medium would be too much risk!

I went here for dinner recently and had forgotten that they have a pretty solid food menu here. We went basic and had a burger and some kind of shredded steak sandwich, both with tater tots. The steak sandwich looked decent enough, but my blue cheese, bacon, and mushroom burger was great. Boneless wings for desert were good enough, the hot buffalo sauce really isn't hot though. Great chunky blue cheese dressing on the side. Service was slightly slow but I don't think it was necessarily the waitresses fault, it looked like she had a lot of tables. I ordered a couple of mixed drinks and honestly... I think they were a little weak in the alcohol department for a short glass drink, but they were $5.50 so at least they weren't overpriced.

We love this place and have been loyal customers for several years now. Great beer selection and the food is awesome. I really recommend the wings! The staff are always warm & friendly. Music, in my opinion, is always good and on occasion they have a band or DJ come in. We really enjoy their dinner/beer pairings and specialty nights. And last but not least, Tuesday Trivia night is always fun!

After the disastrous monsoon at the Food Truck Summit we stopped in here. The place is pretty big and very dark. They even have couches! There's a nice big bar in the middle of the restaurant yet the it still feels cozy enough for a family dinner. Best of both worlds. The service wasn't all that great but the food redeemed this place. We got a few appetizers to share. The Sausage &Mozzerella wontons, the Buffalo Chicken & Mozzerella wonton, Baby Cheeseburgers, wing sampler ( 3 wings, Tequila Citrus), fried pickles, and the soft glazed Bavarian pretzels. Phew, did I miss anything? Lol I've had their cheeseburgers at the Glen Ellyn location and they're one of my favorite sliders. The buffalo chicken and mozzarella wontons were exceptional! Fried goodness in my mouth. So wrong but so good. The spiciness of the wonton was deliciously complimented by the side of blue cheese. Yum! The rest of the stuff was pretty good too. It looked like they had an extensive beer selection and I'll definitely be back to try some.

Half price beers for monday night football. Sounds like a good/bad idea if you have work early on tues. They don't have quite the selection of say the Bavarian Lodge but who cares when its not as busy and right down the street from me. They also have crazy beer and food specials every day of the week. The staff is friendly and is fairly knowledgeable about the beer which is a bonus. As far as the food you can go wrong with the nachos or the fried pickles. The burgers are decent and are a special on wed along with 3 Floyds beers which is just the icing on the cake. I wish they could keep their beer garden open longer but that is just splitting hairs. Overall this is a great place to check out some new beers and have some good food. You really can't beat the specials and the atmosphere - they even have couches to sit on in front of the tvs.

Walked in to "seat yourself", sat there 10 minutes no service. Not too busy, at least 7 waitresses around & half were talking amongst themselves. Several waitresses walked by, no one even looked at us. All the negative portions to reviews we read that service was bad is certainly appropriate. Too bad, we went down the road to Neat Kitchen & were gladly helped.

This place is becoming a regular in our restaurant rotation. The 4-napkin nachos are outstanding, as is the Cuban press and chicken sandwiches. Good service and a great beer list make this a cut above the other bar and grills in the Westmont-Downers Grove area.

Fresh ingredients prepared right every time. Sports bar with a menu with flare. Jalapeño and jack cheese stuffed sirloin burger? Killer. Soups are homemade, pot roast nachos, good service and a beer menu a beer snob will love. I really enjoy this place and even ok to brings the kids for lunch or early dinner. After 7pm-ish the bar/date crowd starts to replace the family crowd. Kind of loud, but no more or less than any other bar grill place. The food is way better than avg, however.

FAMOUS FOR - Beer Selection I TRIED - Wings (various flavors) (5/10) - Soft, Glazed Bavarian Pretzels (4/10) - Crispy Fried Bacon (10/10) - Crispy Fried Pickles (8/10) - THG Stuffed Burger (7/10) THG (Tap House Grill) is a pretty spiffy place. There's a decent size bar in the middle that goes straight into the kitchen, and then there are a lot of high standing tables with tall chairs. It looks nice and almost suggests that it wants to be a high roller place, but not. The floor, walls, and lighting say "Ballin!" but the decor, furniture, and bar say "chill." What I love about the atmosphere, though, is that it's really chill. They've even got a table surrounded by couches. The place has a lot of different personalities. And if that wasn't great enough, there's a very decent size patio out back with wire tables and comfy mesh chairs. Since it's sort of a neighborhood place, this place is perfect if you want to kick back, relax, have a beer and a smile, or if you had a horrible day and want to drink to oblivion. BEER They have quite the list of beers filling 2 pages with 2 columns each. I think they have Two Brother's entire gamut, if you like them. I enjoy craft beers, but when I'm eating food, it's Heineken. And I'll admit it's a mental thing, but I can only enjoy a Heine in a bottle. They served it in a can. Yes, I'm serious. I would take a Bud Light before I drink a Heine in a can or a glass, or even on tap. WINGS Screamer is their hottest and it's got a decent kick, but not even close to BW3 Blazin. Blazin BBQ has a good mix of sweet and spicy, I taste small traces of habenero in it. Sriracha eerily has the sriracha flavor, but none of its spice. Chipotle and hot taste the same and are boring. PRETZELS Maybe I had them when they were cold, I don't know, I didn't really care for them. You get 4 different kinds, but they're really nothing special. The cheese sauces were just ok too. CRISPY FRIED BACON OMG! Why didn't anybody think of this before...and notify me? Who would've thought you can make bacon even more unhealthy by battering it, deep frying it, and then dipping it in ranch?! I don't think you can get more "Comfort Food" than this. It's so unhealthy, yet so freaking delicious, your conscience is going to eat itself. CRISPY FRIED PICKLES First time I ever had this, from anywhere. The breading here is really good. It's not "crispy," though, it's "crunchy." Yes there's a difference, and I like crunchy better anyway. The pickle itself is good and the dipping in ranch makes it excellent. The pickle almost had a cinnamon flavor to it, though, which was kind of weird. THG STUFFED BURGER This is their signature burger. Don't give up when you first see it, though. It's a bun, a patty, some melty cheese, and a lettuce leaf. Seems skimpy, but when you bite into it, and burn your tongue, you'll realize it's stuffed with cheese too (of course, you'd know if you read the menu too). The jack and jalapeno cheddar flavors really come out and add all the flavor and seasoning you need for this burger. It's not spicy, but it's still very tasty. SO? This is a very decent place. Food here is good, atmosphere is awesome, and beers are flowing aplenty. The thing is, it's just a place that does "regular" very well. There isn't anything very unique about it or its fare. If we were wondering where to eat for dinner and I was in the area, THG may not be the 1st choice, but it would definitely receive mention.

Well I've been to this place a couple times. The first time was after a very long day at a funeral and I definitely needed to be surrounded by some good friends, food, and beer. Happened to be one of my friends would be playing at Tap House. When I walked in the place was CROW-DED. Not a problem, my friends had a table. The beer list was overwhelming! Was about 3 pages or so stapled together. At this point I was just getting into this craft beer thing and had no idea what to get. Luckily our server was very helpful and I settled on a beer. And then another one. And another one. We also got some pretty delish apps! They had my favorite- fried pickles! Although these ones are kind of sweet, and I can't say I'm too fond of them. But, um, deep fried bacon? Yum. Just recently I saw someone posted about 3Floyds Wednesday at Tap House. They have select 3.50 3F beers, so I checked it out with a friend. It was pretty dead, and they were playing some pretty crappy music. There was a good song here and there, but for the most part it was terrible. They also ended up running out of Alpha King (one of the selected 3F's brews) so I switched to Robert the Bruce. We only stayed for two beers because my friend had to get up early, and the atmosphere was kind of bringing us down anyways. I'll definitely go back, because they do seem to have some pretty decent specials throughout the week. I also saw they have a 3Floyds Night of the Flight coming soon! And some other pretty awesome craft beer events I'd recommend checking out. I think I'll give this place one more chance and hopefully give it a couple more stars next time.

After passing this place for the past 10 years I finally decided to stop in on a Thursday night for dinner with a girl friend. They have an extensive list of craft beers which they change every so often and is right up my alley! Since its constantly changing they have a website where you can check out what is on the list for that day ( beermenus.com/places/153… ). As an avid craft beer drinker, I really like the options they have both on tap and in a can. WARNING: if you sit on the patio the beer samples end up costing you $1 (but if you sit at the bar they're free). The interior is dimly light, romantic and classy. This can be a great place for a first date or a night out with friends. They even have a fireplace! We sat outside on the patio which felt a little dingy, but at least the chairs and umbrellas were a nice touch. Only problem was the smokers went to the corner to light up and it smelled while we were trying to eat. WORDS OF WISDOM: when sitting on the patio go as far away from the front corner as possible!!! I like this place.... I just haven't figured out to what extent, but I want to go back and find out!

I've been here twice, once for a beer pairing dinner and once for dinner and drinks with friends. I would recommend the latter. The pairings are monthly, and usually 45/person. I went to the Stone beer pairing in January. Tasting the beers is really fun, if you're into that sort of thing. However, the food portions are tiny, which isn't necessarily unusual, but they are not very tasty at all. I only truly enjoyed one of the five courses, the dessert. It was a chocolate cake of some sort, and I love chocolate, so I'm a pretty easy sell. The "main" course was lamb and there was barely any meat on the bone. Very disappointing. I think the major issue here is that the food is supposed to be really upscale and sophisticated and it falls short. Also, its hard to keep that sort of food fresh when you're attempting to serve 100s of people all at once. Now, we returned for dinner with friends last night and it was fantastic! I think unique pub fare and comfort foods are the chefs' strengths. I had a burger with brie cheese and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My only issues were that it was very skimp on the brie and the house salad it came with had no flavor. Next time I will get the tots for my side instead! My husband had tots with his panini and he was very pleased. My husband has also had the cuban and the stuffed burger, both of which he raved about. Also, we had a really great server. She was very knowledgeable about the beer menu and made great recommendations. We will definitely be returning!

Bring a friend, buy a beer, and be all the better for it. Bring 20, and you're in for an experience. Last Saturday, a friend of ours hosted his 30th birthday bash here. Why? There's a three-page beer menu, all the staff are certified cicerones, and the waiters took the constant addition of more bodies in stride. Even if it meant building a table Tetris block by block. There's not one reason he's a regular, there are 30. Each person ordered multiple drinks and meals, and each ticket went to a different person (seriously, one tab for drinks and individual tabs for food). Why the staff didn't just blanch and run screaming I'll never know. Especially when bottles started breaking. Their superhuman ability to hear over the Saturday night Blackhawks din, tolerate drunken ramblings and still laugh at our jokes makes me think Xavier, thy name is Taphouse. And you know the most remarkable thing? A waitress, on her day off, came to join us. She listened, she laughed, she chatted and shared, and soon she was as much a part of this motley crew of friends as any one of us. She was an absolute delight: fun, friendly, intelligent, and absolutely adorable. Lessons learned from my first trip to a bar -- It's all about the staff. It's noisy. And I have the palette of an eight-year-old.

Pump the brakes. I finally find a bar that is decent and close to my parents house! This location has been a couple of things in the past, indian restaurant, shitty sports bar. So when meeting up with another friend who has also moved away, I consulted Yelp to find a cool place for us to meet up. We only had drinks, and the beer menu was impressive. They had all kinds of beers from around the country and locally and I chose both Three Floyd's and Goose Island 312 as my drinks. However, the service left a little to be desired. After a shift change, our new waitress was kind of a bitch to us, I think she was irritated that we were hanging at our table a little too long after we cashed out. It was dead anyways so I'm not sure why the attitude. Otherwise this is a really cool spot to grab a drink, when all you really have around here are places like TGI Friday's.

I have to say that living in Westmont is not exactly exciting when it comes to the night life. We don't really have a "downtown" because everything keeps going out of business. They really need some GOOD places to open and stay open. So saying that I was happy when Taphouse opened their doors. I don't know why it took me this long to write a review on them. At first I/we were defiantly regulars there. Rafael and Ashley were/are our favorite workers there. VERY nice people and social. Always nice to be remembered when you walk in. We cooled it for wow several months so I hope they are still there! I think it has great decor and I like the dim lighting, fireplace area and good tunes. I only wish they could or would tune up the TV volume for games. I want to hear the game. :) I personally enjoy the food. I have not had anything that I don't like. Great big cheese sticks (Planks), burgers etc. Nice presentation. HUGE beer menu and awesome martini's. I ALWAYS order the Sunset. Yummy! Oh and if you want an awesome Mojito then make sure Rafael makes it. He knows his drinks! :) They do have an good size outdoor seating area for the warmer months. Nice wrap around bar which is where we tend to always sit. Good size booths, tables etc.

This place is alright. The food is decent for the price. The place is HUGE on the inside, so great space for getting a group together. Unfortunately the patio is only open till 10pm b/c of the town noise ordinance. Martinis are good, I usually only get them if they are on sale. This locations daily specials very quite often. I went in once for a Martini of the month ($6), and they said they didn't have one that month. WTH? Beer is pretty standard.

I am always looking for good places to grab a beer, some good food, and catch some sports action and Tap House Grill is another great entry into that group. I was impressed with the interior decor, as well as the very large outdoor beer garden. The food was very good as well and the Kobe Beef Burger was top notch. The 40+ draft beer selection also helped to seal the deal for this 4-star review.

Came here for a friend's birthday last Saturday, and we had a really good time! She reserved a side-room, which we had all to ourselves, and they had a big screen playing the Bulls game, and then the Blackhawks game. It was like being in our own private showroom. We kept our server hopping, since there were about 15 of us, but she managed to keep everything straight and moved pretty quickly too. They had an impressive beer list that seriously surprised me - I did not at ALL expect a list like that, and our server did a good job describing the different flavors for me. I tried a few different things and enjoyed all of them. The food was less impressive. My boyfriend ordered the burger with bleu cheese, bacon, mushrooms, and grilled onions. He said it was okay, pretty mediocre, with the patty tasting mostly of meat and not much other seasoning. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Chipotle Salad, which was a large salad in a big bowl. On the sides of the bowl, lay three crispy chicken fingers. I guess I was expecting like, chopped chicken to be mixed into the bowl, not three rando chicken fingers sitting around the outside. It was a bit odd. Chicken fingers were very crispy and bready, which I like, and juicy on the inside. Other than that though, the salad was pretty blah. Limp romaine lettuce, tiny shreds of cheese, random bits of corn, black beans and peppers scattered around - it just wasn't very flavorful. I'm sure it would've been if I dumped the ranch and chipotle dressing all over it, but I ordered them on the side and tried to use them sparingly. It was not anything special, sounded way more delish on the menu. But, I think it's a really nice place to have a good beer and watch a game! I wouldn't bother with food in future, but it's a fun sports bar atmosphere with capable service.

Terrible service or rather no service. We walked out after waiting for 15 min. During this time one waitress visited the booth next to ours 4 times and she didn't even look at us. Another waitress made eye contact with us but never decided to come over and say hello. Not at hello or hi or even go away ... nothing at all from the staff. About 50% of the tables were occupied (Sunday afternoon) so the staff was not overwhelmed. Have been there many times for lunch and they have great food but after this latest visit and being completely ignored, I will not be going back anytime soon.

I love this place. The menu is awesome, both for food and beer. They can do cocktails and have decent wines (simple selection, but good). I really love their chicken caesar salad panini - I've had it a few times and it's always been excellent. Their french fries are great, too, and they have vinegar. I've enjoyed everything I have had there: fish and chips, apple and brie flatbread, barley beef soup, and a fish salad (I forgot what kind of fish). Iv'e also tried their donuts; those were just okay for me, but I can see how other people would really like them. They have a unique take on food. Their beer menu is awesome; I'm a big fan of stouts, and they always have a good recommendation for me. They've introduced me to Left Hand, which has become one of my favorites. The staff knows their stuff, too - I've never been disappointed when I've asked for help. They have a few televisions (that's where we were, actually, when Obama announced that Osama bin Laden had been killed), and will change the channel for the sports fans :) It's usually a bit dark in there, but the seating is comfortable and they have unique decor (like candle holders made from beer bottles). The serving staff has always been great with us, too.

Good food, great beer selection and a clean, updated atmosphere make this a gem in the south part of Westmont. Last time we were there, we were delighted to find they were running a $3/pint special on Monday's for all of their draft beers - and they have at least a couple dozen craft and local brews on tap. We've been several times and the food is always very good with interesting, seasonal choices as well as a few signature dishes which always seem to be on the menu. Great for a girls night out, a date night and even the occassional family dinner (though Tap House turns into more of a bar atmosphere later in the evening). Definitely worth a try, especially if you like to try seasonal beers with your dinner.

I recently went here for the second time and I'll keep coming back! The beer selection is one of the best in the suburbs, at least, in my opinion! The food is worthy to note as well too, many bar "type" food but pushed up a couple notches. It's not garbage! You can read the rest of the reviews to get a better idea of what to expect on different occasions, but I will just sing its praises because there aren't many bar/gastropubs I can stand in the suburbs. ++ and their hot sauce is noteworthy as well :), enjoy!

My wife and I walked in on a Thursday expecting the bar to be not-so-crowded. We were wrong. However, with the bar full, we took a table next to the bar. That was a happy-stance for us. Our server, Steph, made our night. We tried a few stouts on the extensive menu (what is it, 50 on tap) as well as a can of Wild Onion Stout. As well, we tried a couple specials. Steph did not steer us wrong. We went with an all-app order; we did the Totchos (to DIE for) and the Won Ton and finished off with a flatbread. The crowd was mixed between couples and groups. I LOVE the high-backed booths and the nice gathering place by the fireplace (like the rhyme?). I would absolutely recommend this place for date night and a group of friends to just sit back and enjoy the large tap menu as well as the great food items. Definitely will be back soon, if only to be helped by Steph.

Good stuff! I live right down the street and the Tap house Grill never disappoints! Clearly the biggest draw here is the beer. I really don't know of any other place in the West Burb's with the huge selection. In addition to a wide selection of draft IPA's, stouts and lagers they also have a big bottle selection that is priced pretty good. Seems like they normally have 2 or 3 different Dogfish Head beers on tap which is always a treat. They were out of the "Black and Blue" last night which was disappointing but I can definitely understand why. Prob the best brew that Dogfish Head makes. Clearly others think the same way which is why the keg was dry. (Note to Taphouse Grill: Get another Keg of this bad boy). The food here works also. They have real good wings with some unique flavors. The Siricha flavored wings are AWESOME. Even if I get a burger or something else off the menu I always get the three wing sampler of those tastes of heaven. See you this weekend Tap House!

I love this place! They have a ton of beers, good food and a sweet patio. The parking situation is a bit iffy. The lot they have is definitely not big enough for the establishment, but usually it isn't a problem. Service can be a bit slow here, but whatever, this isn't the kid of place you go for a quick bite. The Tap House is for relaxing. During the day this place is pretty family friendly, but at night the lights are dimmer and the bar setting seems a bit more intimate. Everything is spaced out enough that even if all the tables are full, nothing seems too crowded. The best part though is the patio. It is spacey with nice big tables. There are umbrellas so it is not too hot in the summer and I think they have space heaters too for the cooler evenings. There are attractive rock walls and fences too so you can't see that you are sitting in one of the busier and dirtier looking parts of town. The food here has always been fantastic and I have never had a problem with anything I have ordered there. The beer selection is great and it rotates, so every time you go there could be something new to drink. This place had Oberon on tap too, which always makes me happy!

Dear god, why did you make the bar so big? Every time I'm in here, I'm struck by how the bar dominates 2/3 of the restaurant. Try the mac and cheese dishes...they're great. Excellent beer selection, too, but for some reason they've decided to attach each beer menu to a two-pound slab of wood. How rustic! How charming! How entirely unnecessary! Nice waitstaff and a comfortable seating area around a large TV make this place a win.

Stopped in for lunch and a beer. The bartender, Alyssa, was very friendly and very good at her job. The item I ordered was not to my liking and she offered immediately to replace it and went so far as to say it would be her pleasure and that Tap House didn't want anybody to be unhappy. The replacement dish was very good and the beer quite tasty. Definitely worth stopping in at if you are hungry/thirsty and in the neighborhood.

We went last night after searching for a new place on Yelp. The first and maybe only downside is the parking lot is small and was full I had to drive around to find a spot. We went to watch the 2nd half of the NCAA tournament and they have an adequate number of tvs around the bar that can be seen from the tables. They also have a band playing that were pretty good. We were seated our waitress was quick to come over we ordered cheese curds for an app, and the guys had Guinness on Saturday they are $3. The cheese curds (of which I am a connoisseur) were okay but a little salty for my taste. I ordered the chicken finger and a side of fries for my dinner, my husband had the THG burger with salad (he gave up fries for lent) and our friend had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The burger was good and messy every time he bite it squirted on the plate, the chicken sandwich is serves on a roll and was really good, and my chicken finger were good not too much breading and the chicken was cut there not frozen pieces. The dessert menu looked great but we were stuffed. We started out going for the game and wound up there until 1:30am listening to the band. The people in the place were mixed age but no one was loud, super drunk or obnoxious which is always nice. Our total bill was $112 for 21 beers, 3 dinners, 1 app and a soda which I didn't think was bad thank god for $3 beers. The beer menu is extensive and listed on their website with prices which is always nice. We will definitely be back, probably when it's nice weather and we can sit outside on their very large patio.

Finally checked this place out last night to see a friend's band play. I had a burger with goat cheese - I don't know if it was just the cheese or what (never did goat on a burger), but it was awesome! Definitely get the tater tots, always a nice sub for french fries. The staff is very friendly here, no complaints there. They have a nice craft tap beer selection (~40), and let you sample them before ordering a full glass. The place has a nice ambience; it didn't feel as "chain-y" as I anticipated. Looking forward to going back!

Great (GREAT!) burgers, a huge (HUGE) selection of beers in a very spacious and comfortable setting (tables, high tops, couches, bar stools). If that weren't enough, they have homemade hot donuts and homemade Kit-Kat desserts. Wow! This place must be owned by a cardiologist looking for business. Tuesday Beer/Burger pairing event is a must do.

My Fiancé and I come here all the time. The location is convenient, the beer choices are abundant, and they also do other cocktails very well. The food is alright and the staff is nice. With that said, I do have to say the service can be slow. Every time we've gone the service has taken WAY too long to get anything. Great place to grab some drinks, but not if you're in a hurry.

After visiting the Tap House Grill in St. Charles, and loving it, we found ourselves in the Westmont area and decided to stop in. Almost immediately we noticed the lack of clean tables and array of junk and storage visible to patrons seated on the patio. Each table had dried food on the surface and we had to ask for ours to be wiped down three times prior to it being cleaned, and this included a visit by the waitress to take our drink orders. In addition to the tables, there were piled trash cans in the corner visible to all, along with a dented and otherwise dilapidated enclosure for the patio "bar". They were out of one of the beer specials and the waitress neglected to provide us with an happy hour menu. To start, we asked our server for her recommendations. Based on that, we ordered the chicken chili nachos and the sausage flat bread from the happy hour menu. The nachos consisted of the day's chicken chili poured over round stale tortilla chips. My seven year old son was first to notice the stale chips. My wife's flatbread was luke warm with a mound of ground sausage atop unmelted mozzarella cheese. I ordered the chipotle chicken wrap which was actually pretty good despite our initial impressions of the food. Overall the services was slow and indifferent, and the patio area could use a discerning eye from a manager. Again, we were excited to find a Tap House Grill close to work where we could regularly meet after work. The St. Charles location was by far a better experience and we will visit that location in the future.

A few co workers and I were going to get dinner and discuss some work stuff over a drink. We usually go to a place right down the street from the office, but I wanted to try something new. We decided to try Tap House Grill It was pretty empty when we got there around 5:30, which we expected. They have a Happy Hour Appetizer special from 3pm - 6pm. For about $10 we got fried mushrooms, chili cheese nachos and bavarian pretzels. I found the mushrooms and nachos just so so, but the pretzels were really awesome. If you go to the website youll see the other appetizers that are on special. Tuesday is Old School Beer and Trivia Night.. $2 Schiltz or Old Style Bottles, $2 16oz PBR Cans, or $2 Mystery Bartender Bottle Call Its. Tap House has probably over 50 beers on tap. I suggest going when you want to try something youve never had, because thats the sort of stuff that is on tap. Lots of craft beers from around the area and beyond. Awesome for me seeing Im always wanting to try something new. I went with the Zombie Dust from 3 Floyds. Awesome stuff. Reminds me a bit of Anchor Steam but more hoppy. For dinner I had the THG Stuffed Burger and Tater Tots. Awesome! The burger is stuffefd with 2 different cheeses and jalapenos. When you bite into it, all that goodness just oozes out. The tots were perfect, crispy on the outside and soft inside. All in all...good stuff. When you spend $25 you get a $10 gift card which you cant beat!

Wow! So glad I just randomly chose to try this place after a quick Yelp search for something new to try out in my area of the western burbs. The menu sounded intriguing and the beer list was impressive, so I gathered up the roomies and a friend and headed over. Took me awhile to get through the menu, all of their dishes sound extremely tasty! I decided to try the Guiness-braised short ribs with parmesan polenta. It had a mushroom/tomato sauce with truffel sauce and huge pieces of crumbled blue cheese on top. Wow! It was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life! Usually, I'll go to restaurants, see a dish like this, think to myself "oh, that looks amazing.....but I think I'll just get a burger." So glad I didn't do that this time! It was a huge portion and I had leftovers for next day's lunch. The beer selection is great and what I really really enjoyed about it was that they offer some of the lesser known brews from the craft breweries. For example, they have New Belgium, but not Fat Tire or 1554. I tried a couple different beers I had never seen before and was not disappointed. We also ordered their deep-fried bacon appetizer. So bad for you, but it tasted so good! I promised my arteries I would never do that to them again, but I had to try a couple pieces just for the novelty. Definitely will return, hopefully on a regular basis since its so close to home.

OVERALL: + fairly good food for a bar - and lots of menu options + $2 happy hour apps M-F 3-6p and 10p-12a, and during Bears games; good to know when planning future visits + our sandwiches were ready lightning-fast + great service + the beers we got were only $5 each - no prices on the beer menu. I hate that possibility of surprise when your check comes. - soooo dark in the dining area. don't take your senior citizen parents here, or you'll be reading them the entire menu. FOOD: bbq pulled pork sandwich: + awesome sauce - not too sweet or too sour, great flavor, perfect amount - not enough meat on the sandwich cuban sandwich: + tasty - too much bread arizona hoagie: + tasty - too big to eat without a knife and fork other: + side salads were great - fries have the same coating that Burger King fries have, so next time I'll pass

I'm a big fan of craft brew, and this place had quite the impressive tap and bottle list for the 'burbs, so I decided to check it out. After quite a few visits, I think I have a pretty good feel for the place. Taphouse is a great neighborhood haunt for some good beer and excellent bar food. So far my experience has led me to believe that the more straightforward the food you choose, the tastier it is. Their calamari is surprisingly the best I've had from any casual food joint (crispy on the outside, meltingly tender on the inside), and the Cuban is delicious (seriously, if you like Cubans, GET THIS). The stuffed burger my dad had here was also impressive. Along with the great food, there is a beer here for anybody, as they always have a great variety on draft, as well as a nice bottle list. There's always a deal of the month on draft, and they've never disappointed. Along with daily evening specials on food and drink that are worth checking out (2 dollar burger night, whoa), there's Trivia every Tuesday night that's real fun if you have a group with you. The bartenders working will always be happy to help with suggestions if you're not sure which beer to get. I always trust asking them when I'm down to a choice between two. The only thing keeping this place from five stars is the monthly pairing dinners they have. They are hit and miss, but if the brewery of the month is a good one, then we go, because usually the pairing is done well. The food just tends to fall a little short, like they went for real fancy but didn't quite execute right. That aside, if you're looking for a place to grab a bite or a pint, I couldn't recommend a better place in the area.

Hard to find a pub with great food and outstanding beer selection. If that doesn't get you the staff will get you coming back. Oh yea Wednesday is $2.00 burger night, try to beat that deal....! Tell them Danny B sent you :-)

I've been here a number of times for work functions and I have to say, I've been very impressed with the food. The fish tacos are my personal favorite, but the appetizers are excellent (especially the tater tot one) and I have never left unsatisfied. Another reviewer called it "upscale bar food" and I would have to agree...or even go as far to say that I wouldn't call it bar food, it's food food and it's good food. Being that I've been here for work lunches mostly, I can't really comment on the beer selection, but the decor is nice and there are plenty of TVs around.

They have one of my favorite beers there that no one seems to have, the banana bread beer. They beer menu is pretty amazing! I have not eaten there, but I've been there with other people who were eating and they all seemed to enjoy what they got.

Fred and I stopped in here one night for a much needed mom and dad night out! We walked in and were seated immediately by this less than awesome hostess who would not seat us in one of the booths so we could both watch the band because she said it was reserved, yet no one ever sat there the entire night...really?! Wow. Anyways...we were greeted rather quickly by our waitress and quickly ordered a couple of beers off their mile long beer list along with a few appetizers...well...a lot of appetizers! We tried the buffalo and mozzarella wontons, deep fried bacon, Wagyu sliders and fried pickles. Everything was seriously delicious! Our favorites were...well...all of them...but especially the wontons! We can't wait to go back and try some of the other flavors! I also ended up ordering a couple of Cajun wings...eh...I've had much better elsewhere, therefore I will stick to the good stuff the next time we go! I also ended up bringing our babysitter (my ma) home some short rib mac and cheese which was also on point...but I definitely want to try one that is cheesy next time instead of one of the special sauces. We are already planning our next trip back to try some more apps and beers! PS...I tried the Banana Bread Beer here and seriously LOVED it! So weird...yet so good...check it out! =]

any time i have to leave a restaurant after 45 minutes, and no food, while some regulars arrived and were served immediately, i'm going to rate it one star. if i could give it a zero, i would.

We have been to the Tap House in Oswego and Westmont numerous times. They always have top notch craft beers on tap and the servers are very helpful in assisting you in making a selection. I love that there are always special events going on. A great place to meet and hang out with friends. The food is upscale and very good. Overall a great place to get your craft beer fix and round it out with some delicious bar food

I give this place a 3.5. Beer selection on tap, while aplenty, gets a 3. Reasoning? Because they have some really typical beers on tap, nothing too unusual. I also tried a Strawberry Fields martini ($6 on special) and that too was just ok. While it was made with real Strawberry puree, it was pretty weak. I like my martinis to leave me tipsy drunk and this one didn't fulfill my hopes. The calamari appetizer was pretty tasty and I recommend it. My man had the Jerk Fish Sandwich, and it was pretty flavorful and tasty. I had the Pesto Chicken and Bacon Wrap, and I was disappointed. It was really bland. I also fell into the 6th grade trap and ordered tater tots with my wrap...and they reminded me exactly of a cafeteria school lunch. They too were ordinary tater tots. :( I was hoping for some tater goodness, but wasn't overly impressed. They have a unique selection of appetizers and Wednesdays they have $2 and $4 burger specials.... But if you're looking for special brews on tap, check out the Bavarian Lodge. We found them to be much more unique there. Otherwise, decent place for a drink after work as the atmosphere is really chill and nice.

Service was decent at best... Word to the wise, don't ever get the bruschetta there. Pathetic excuse for bruschetta. Everything is pretty salty. The one thing we went in for was pretty good... Deep fried bacon. The atmosphere was nice and I like the way it was set up. I'm sure we'll be back and try some other stuff.

If I was rating Tap House Grill on "a place that I want to hang out and have a beer", I'd rate it 5+ stars. If I'm rating Tap House Grill on "a place that I want to visit for dinner only", I'd rate it 4 stars. My husband and I decided to come for dinner because of the great beer list. We were not disappointed in the beer selection, and were even able to try a few new brews, which is rare for us because we actively seek out different beers to try. It is one of the only places in the 'burbs that has New Belgium Lips of Faith series on tap (hopefully it is a sign that it is coming more common). The food was pretty good. I consider it upscale bar food. I have tried the nachos with slow cooked pork marinated in tequila, the flat bread pizzas, and the burgers. There is a large outdoor seating area out back that we will visit this summer. We have already visited twice this month, and think it will become part of our regular dinner rotation.

I'm so glad to see a "hipper" bar in the area that isn't in one of he local downtown areas. The inside is nicely decorated and isn't like many dive bars in the area. I've seen a wide range of age groups in there. Lots of tv's for sporting games, went here to watch Michigan State in the final four, had a spot right in front of the tv and it was great. The beer selection here is better than most in the area, and constantly changing. Food here is on the upscale side, not your typical bar food. They do have bar food favorites with a little gourmet flare to them. The wings here are my favorite, and the "homemade" blu-cheese dressing is unlike any I've ever had, creamy and extra blu-cheesey. The best is going for their appetizer specials... late night daily. You can get smaller portions of the appetizers for $2! And 3-4 wings for $2! Great deals here and awesome food. Have not been here during the summer, but I am looking forward to the outdoor seating!

First off, the people at Tap House are very swell. All the bartenders will spend a lot of time chatting it up, especially when it slows down later in the night. Most of the wait staff does a satisfactory job. The beer selection consists largely of local favorites, my favorite of which is Goose Island's Matilda. There are more good American choices like Shiner and then a few international goodies like Hoegaarden. All these and more are on tap so you can make it to Tap House many times before sampling every brew you may want to. Now the menu holds mostly your typical bar fare but experiments as well. Sometimes these adventures go wrong like with their reecently added fried bacon, which should be outlawed. Other original feeling parts, like the Kobe sliders or Red Hummus, do a better job of escaping what you'd expect from any old bar. I haven't had the opportunity to make it to one of the beer pairing events, but at the high price tag ($45 per head as of late) they're probably hit or miss. Regardless, on a normal night this joint rocks for basic brews and a little more for food.

Drove fifteen miles to check this place out after seeing there awesome selections of draft beer on beer menus Chicago, I sat at the bar around 5pm on 11/27 and was informed they were having a problem with the draft lines and there would be no draft beer until 6.15??? Better call ahead next time....

Haven't had the food yet, but have been there twice. Last night to see local band North of 8. It was cozy and friendly with the fireplace, but surprisingly also a really great place to see a band. Complete with dancefloor! Friendly waitstaff.

Who says you can't find good food in the burbs? Came here with some friends who have been before and this place is definitely a nice find (apparently it used to be a sports bar). The selection of draft beer is great to say the least. They have your old standbys but also a large amount of specialities such as Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Sumpin' which I had (really hoppy wheat beer). For food I started out with the fried bacon, and whoa was it good. The batter was very light so the bacon really melted in your mouth. It came with a couple dipping sauces but the ranch did just fine for me. I also had the Kobe burger which was surprisingly very good. Whenever a restaurant says they have a Kobe burger, I never tend to believe it is actually Kobe beef. This one happened to be American Wagyu beef so it definitely wasn't your average grade ground chuck. Unfortunately they cook all their burgers medium, but it still tasted good to me (especially when I added a fried egg on that sucker). The bun was perfect too, not too big and super soft and fresh. Service was extremely attentive and nice, so I can't recommend this place enough if you happen to be in the area...

First time in last Friday evening. Very impressive beer list and bartender had a keen sense of the various beers, what I liked, and offered several tastes. No idea on food but I loves me some specialty beer and when the barkeep knows her stuff, good enough for me. I'll be back.

This place is great. I live and go to school downtown, but my home is right there in Westmont, so I'm a local guy and always looking for a place to hang out when I come back. This is looking like that place. Went with 5 friends to watch Monday Night Football, and the place is really nice. I think they were more full than they expected to be (which surprised us considering if they don't fill up for MNF in the suburbs, when will they?) but no problems, the first round of beers was on the house. Food was PHENOMENAL but took quite a long time due to 2 waiters/waitresses for the whole bar. Not their fault, poor management for the night, but the service was fantastic, tv's were everywhere, and it's a great place, I'd go again.

I was so excited to go in and get a burger and tater tots, as it had been awhile since I have been here. To my surprise , I waited and waited and no one welcomed us or acknowledged we were even there. It wasn't crowded as it is the Labor Day holiday. After awhile another couple walked in and were greeted with menus within a minute. We must have been invisible and/or none of the wait staff wanted to labor over us on Labor Day. It will be awhile again before I try this place again.
