Fast friendly service. Go there often, tip well, they will recognize you. Sunday lunch buffet is always popular. Packed with guests. Great green beans and hot tea. One of my favorite places in town!

It's ok in a pinch. Always feels dirty and sticky in there. Prices are exceptionally cheap. Lunch under $5 on weekdays. But it's just average. Nothing special, just cheap Chinese food.

Good Chinese food. For the price i don't think you can beat the lunch special. They have several choices on their lunch menu and it comes with an eggroll or crab rangoon. The fried rice with the lunch special isn't the best but it's good enough. The take out is fast and the lunch special is just over $5. I work close by so it's perfect for those days when you are craving Chinese food.

my ex-girlfriend and i drove around springfield for what seemed like about six hours trying to find somewhere with vegetarian options for her to eat. we FINALLY found this place after checking the menus at somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 restaurants, and just a half hour before they were going to close. the most surprising part was how good it was, huge portions, super-friendly service and cheap like all get out. plus insanely cheap mixed drinks, like $2.95 for a mai tai? we need one of these in chicago!

Love this Chinese restaurant! If I lived here I'd be a regular. There are so many tempting options from the Chef's Specials. Normally I get moo goo, cashew chicken, Mongolian beef etc but we ventured to try the amazing chicken and Hunan pork - both were spicy but not too spicy and had the right balance of meat and vegetables. I have never liked crab Rangoon before but Tai Pan's are really good! The family here is so nice! My little one was very fussy as it was nearing his bed time and they were very kind to us.

This is a great example a small restaurant of quality. They have been in business for nineteen years. The recent redecoration has made the interior much more open and bright. The menu has always very good. We normally dine in, but I notice a steady carry out. If, you are staying off I-55 in Springfield give it a try. Closed Mondays

Stayed at one of the nearby hotels this weekend and ordered delivery from this local restaurant. We drove by it later and it looks a little dumpy on the outside, but my experience of the food was good. The delivery arrived quickly and our meal was was delicious. I ordered the sautéed string beans and my husband had tofu lo mein, both with no MSG. The prices were quite decent, too. I recommend it.

This place is horrible in my opinion. The best was the crab rangoons. The worst was everything else. The food wasn't hot. The beef was the worst grade ever. Taste like I was eating rubber. Place wasn't half full but they couldn't manage the place. They sat us in the middle so every time the door opened I was cold. Couldn't wait to get out of that place.

Great for vegetarians. Lots of options and decent, flavorful food. I especially loved the smokey chili sauce that came when I asked for "hot sauce". So good I put some on my leftovers before taking it home.

First time for me and husband had been there about 17 years ago. We ordered Crab Rangoon appetizer. Too sweet for me, but nothing to compare it too. Husband thought there were like some others he has had. I had Hunan Tofu with a few veggies, and brown sauce with sour black beans. Very well done, I love big triangle pillowss of Tofu, served with white sticky rice. Huge serving, I took half of it home. Husband ordered Mooshoos with Chicken. He thought they were very good also. Most impressive to me was the giant Pina Colada, made with the real ingredients which all other restaurants I know of in this town use a terrible tasting mix. Served in a ceramic coconut.

Food is okay, I didn't enjoy it very much. The place itself needs to be updated and cleaned a bit better.

Anyone who doesn't like this place my be literally insane. The food is OUT OF THIS WORLD. The prices are VERY cheap in comparison to some other places in town. Plus, they pretty much have something for everybody (even vegans and vegetarians). This is my go-to place for Chinese food in Springfield.

Tai pan is the best! They make everything fresh! They have the best hand made crab Rangoon in town. Their Hunan triple sizzling is outstanding! Also the hot and sour soup is great, and I've eaten it everywhere. Overall, they are the best in town by far!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
