One of my favorite lunch spots. I love the everyday special- 1/2 a sandwich, side and drink. The soup is great. Typically there is a "special" soup or two that aren't listed on the menu. Be sure to ask because tomato basil is FABULOUS! The sandwich is a very generous half sandwich and its a good value for what you pay- $7.50 including tax. Other sides are very tasty too. Ceaser salad and Mediterranean salad are especially good.

What McCormicks lacks in ambiance, it makes up for in deliciousness. Sure, it's not cushy. It's cramped, and the chairs are hard. But the staff is always very friendly and attentive, and the food is hot, fresh, and honest (homemade). You will find cold and toasted sandwiches (but chips are extra, why?), horseshoes, warm, deluxe sandwiches (chicken breast, bbq, etc), and regular bbq platters on the menu. I order the ponyshoe each time I come, and it never disappoints. McCormicks has a the usual suspects (hamburger, buffalo chicken, turkey), but has some unexpected choices as well (porkchop, bbq pork). The cheese is a little tangy and the fries are hot and seasoned as well. My favorite is the pulled pork ponyshoe. All in all, a great place that deserves more business hidden away from the main road. Enjoy!

I was pleasantly surprised by the Big Salad (that really is the name!). It's a huge salad with a meat choice. Fresh veggies, great meat. Too many places will half ass a salad. This place didn't! My only complaint is that's it's cafeteria style. You order and they bring it to you.

My pulled pork sandwich was composed mainly of fat, with the extra surprise of a piece of bone fragment. The green beans tasted like a can. The Mac and cheese was over cooked and mushy. The sliced pickle was the highlight of the meal.

I like this place. Good prices and portions. The burgers are surprisingly good.

We got two sandwiches and two sides at the drive through. The barbecue sauce was so thin, it was basically just colored water. No taste at all, and the sandwiches were so soggy, had to use a fork and scoop out the bread that'd just turned to mush. The pulled pork sandwich was hardly pulled, with chunks so big they had to be cut just to eat. Which presented another problem, because it was so tough we had to use a steak knife to saw through it. The meat on either sandwich was comically bland. All this for a whopping $20? Wish we would've just hit up McDonald's instead... if that tells you anything. At least the McRib has some flavor!

This is quite the little gem. It has recently moved into The Gables (behind Sam's Club) and has added "Smokehouse" to their name. They offer a variety of dishes from deli sandwiches, burgers, patty melts, pulled pork sandwiches, "BIG" salads, horseshoes (a Springfield staple), Ribs and Walleye. You'll have to just go check it out. Its pretty small sit down area but they do offer outside seating a little bit too. But its pretty cramped everywhere. And the layout is odd. The waiting staff has to go through the line to order constantly to get to patrons on the other side. Also there is drive thru which there was a line out the parking lot for that. Its quite yummy despite the lacking atmosphere. I had the pulled pork sandwich and I added the house medium BBQ sauce table side. It was smokey and moist, fries were good too. *EDIT*: I found a favorite thing here!!! Loaded Baked Potato Soup! I heard through the grapevine that they do it all from scrtach too! Nothing comes in prepackaged. Daily Specials: M- two pulled pork sandwiches $5 T-Turkey Swiss or Turkey Bacon Sandwich w/ chips and drink $5.99 W- Any ponyshoe & drink $7.50 Th- The Hoss (any smoked meat, BBQ sauce, Slaw, Fries, Tomatoes, Pickles all on Texas toast) & a drink $6.50 F- Buy one platter, get 2nd for $5.00 Sa- 1/2 rack ribs, 2 sides & rolls hrs: m-th 11-8 & f-sat 11-9 mccormicksrestaurant.net

I hardly ever eat in here, but they have a drive-thru window that is easy and very convenient! Good prices, good service, and good food. My favorite here is their grilled cheese (comes on soft bread with a blend of cheeses and a pickle) and CHILI. Such good chili here. Check it out!

I had not tried McCormick's until they moved over to The Gables. The nachos with pulled chicken are an absolute must. The prices are very reasonable. Any entree with pulled meat is delicious and the barbecue sauces are tasty and fun to play with as far as mixing and matching is concerned. Wait staff can be hit or miss, the soups could be better.
