Horrible. Lousy atmosphere, mediocre food, short drinks, crying babies. Had reservations and was told there was a wait. The party in front of us had no reservations and were seated immediately. Never again.

I went here with once with my cousin and some friends. The food was good and I had the steak which they cook it the way I like it. I also had calamari which was good. The service was good and I had a good overall experience. I haven't been back recently cuz it's kinda far and their is no outback in the city. But I would go back when I get a chance to.

Slow service, no water, late bread and super late salad, I regret irdering an appetizer because it took sooo long to get the dry chicken that was too hard to eat. The only good part was the drinks, they helped with the hungry part since the chicken I ordered was jerky.

Thank you for making my mother-in laws birthday wonderful. Our server Nicole was very understanding we had no clue what we wanted to eat and arrived at are table with a smile every time, She had are refill drinks ready for us every time we here about to ask. She made by dinner dreams come true when something was no longer on the menu (please bring back the entrée Stake Wedge Salad). The only thing I would change is the lighting it was a bit dark for my liking. Thank you Outback Team and Nicole for a wonderful night out.

We used their "Click through seating" tonight to minimize the wait. Upon arrival our table was ready, which was nice. The lighting was a bit dark so it was difficult to read the menu...which has changed. I was disappointed to see the steak wedge salad gone. ;-( We ordered the blooming onion for our appetizer, only to find it greasy and not nearly as good as usual, so we didn't eat it. Lisa the manager came over, took it off our bill, and offered something else, with no problem. We declined, only because our soup and salads were coming. My husband said his french onion soup was among the best he'd had. My daughter and I also enjoyed our Caesar salads. She ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled shrimp and chicken added...the shrimp came on a skewer and she received a whole chicken breast! So she was happy. Hubby had a ribeye and I had prime rib; we both ordered them medium rare and both were undercooked and had to be sent back. (This was not their fault because they do explain their temperatures and they are different than other places. Here medium rare is more rare, and we had forgotten this.) But even this was no problem, taken care of professionally and promptly. Both steaks were returned a few minutes later, and both were tender, juicy and delicious, and worth the wait. They gave me a fresh baked potato, even though I had just dressed mine up and hadn't touched it. Robert P. our server was attentive and very courteous throughout. All in all, despite the issues, we enjoyed our meal and continue to come here.

About a 2-2.5: The parents and I have gone to this particular Outback location a few times. As all Outbacks, the menu offers appetizers, soups, salads, differently-prepared steaks (seasoned & seared, wood-fire grilled, and combos), burgers, and even seafood entrees. We usually start off with a Bloomin' Onion, which is a blossomed onion that is diced into a 'flower-like' type of a presentation, battered, and fried, and served with a spicy signature bloom sauce - these are definitely more on the addicting end, but a tad bit salty. For steaks, we usually stick with the Ribeye, the Filet Mignon & Lobster combo, and/or the Porterhouse. The steaks usually do not come at the requested temperature and have gone back to the kitchen multiple times T___T Service can also be a hit-or-miss, as during the dinner rush, it can be MIA, or at other times, not-so-friendly T____T There are definitely better and preferrable steakhouses out there, but if you are around the Touhy plaza and have a hankering for a regular ol' steak, this is usually your sole option in the area! +Bloomin' Onion (request for extra sauce!) +incorrect temperature of steaks T____T +hit-or-miss service T___T

Treating myself to a Steak Dinner! Okay, yes, I am a workaholic and barely have time for any R&R, but today I decided to throw caution to the wind and I found myself at Outback Steakhouse.. Now, honestly I am not much of a steak eater, maybe because I have become more socially conscious about the poor animals that got slaughtered on my behalf. And, yes, that does truly bother me. But, as I was walking through the parking lot I could smell this most appealing smell/aroma of steaks grilling, Oh, Lord, a steak on the Barbie! Okay, so I lost my senses and I walked in to this place, and I was greeted by a semi-nice hostess person, and she did walk me to my table so she gets one prop for that! And I had a great server named Rosalind, Boy, was she busy, carrying trays, and taking care of her customers. Great multi-tasker Rosalind was, 5 props for her! I was asked if I wanted some warm bread brought to the table, I said please do.. however, once I saw that it was pumpernickel bread I should have said please don't! I so don't like pumpernickel! However, I had a great chopped steak dinner with grilled asparagus, God, I love asparagus! And. I also had a good but not great Caesar salad! So, I have to say this was definitely a 4 star experience, I truly thought the meal was pretty great, minus the pumpernickel.. Yuck!! I liked my server a lot, and I liked the hostess person, not a lot but a little.. Loved the dark wood interior of the restaurant , and they were playing some kick ass music too! So, to the folks at Outback I say Thanks for a pretty great dining experience, I liked your place a lot! You did yourselves proud...

Robin is the best! Ask for her as your waitress and your service will be above and beyond :) food was good, but she made the experience worthwhile. Constant refills and check ups!

So I enjoy outback. The bloom'n onion is delicious. I can normally count on outback to give me a pretty good steak or slab of ribs. My parties food came out great too. So I'm not going to knock them on my last visit. Everything I ordered came out perfect, minus the steak. I ordered the ribeye medium rare. It came out medium well. Waitress was super nice and very apologetic. She took the steak back no problem. The manager, crystal I believe, came out and apologized as well. Very professional and polite. They made me another steak. The manager brought it out. This time it came out too rare. They took it back. Third time was a charm. I was very pleased with how the staff and manager handled the situation. Their customer service was outstanding.

Luckily, my last several visits have been much better, than what I was noticing around 2010 and 2011. An overdue update, but I thought I might as well post that. Food has been much better, as of my last several visits during 2013 and 2014. Maybe this place finally got a much more competant manager, but whatever it is that's allowing them to have better food, keep it up. I wish some of the friendly servers I vaguely recall this place once had in the mid and late 2000s still worked here, but 'tis life. On another note, I am SO DARN glad it seems like the Outback servers no longer do the annoying sitting down opposite of where you're sitting at your table to go over the specials, since that was a turnoff to me. And I understand servers at such chain restaurants do eventually move on, to other jobs.

Went Sunday nights and they were slammed. Found space at the bar. Young man who filled in to help did a excellent job.he said as 100% professional. Thanks. (Wearing a Ac/Dc t shirt) Kudos. Great meal once again. New bone in rib eye and sweet potato was great. Perfectly cooked. Still one of my top local choices although I never feel like I am at a chain, more just like a top place to eat. Daughter had yummy fish tacos. Spot on.

I'm giving this restaurant a poor rating based solely on customer service. This one is on management (kitchen) to be specific. I went in on Friday night and ordered a steak I was not asked if I wanted it cooked on the flat top or firewood grilled? Sitting at the bar I realized that I wanted it fire grilled. I went back and asked the server can I have that steak I ordered wood grilled? She said sure, we'll that was lip service. Not her fault, but kitchen management didn't think I deserved the $28.00 dollar steak I ordered cooked the way i wanted it. So I won't be going back to Outback steakhouse. Looks like Longhorn just got a new customer.

I had a giftcard for the restaurant group Outback is in, and this was the closest place to where I work. I came in once to pick-up an online order and there was no one at the Curbside Pick-up for several minutes until I poked out and made noise. A server came over and rang me up, got my food, and I was on my way. I thought perhaps it was a rough day or they were understaffed. I went again to pick up an online order today, and it turns out they just don't handle online orders well. I waited another 10 minutes without being acknowledged at the Curbside Door and it took getting close to seated party to get attention. I paid and waited for my order which I was told was up. This is now 30 minutes after I placed the order, and I was starting to get crabby. All in all it took close to 50 minutes to get my small steak and some salads. I am pretty sure when they first saw me was when they put my order in. Having a bad day is one thing, but to have a system they don't know how to decently manage is silly...and useless. It turns out 2 entrees and some salads will eat up a $50 gift card, so I'm happy to not go back anymore.

Solid 3. Service was solid , food was a 3. Good but not great. You get what you expect from an outback here with real friendly people

I came here to celebrate my best friend's birthday with her family and overall had a good time. Our server was very helpful and friendly and was really patient with us taking our time on deciding what to eat. I ordered the pacific rim salmon and shrimp with veggies on the side. It was good, the salmon and shrimp was spot on and the veggies, well it's vegetables, how can you mess that up? We then had each had a cup of coffee and some ice cream dishes to share. The dessert and coffee was pretty good too. We all had a great time here and the food was good, but it's not something that I would go back and have again. Oh and the blooming onion...yeah...just get it.

This place is a joke. Called ahead and reserved an 8pm seating because we have a three year old. We get there and they tell us it doesn't matter and we have to wait with our screaming three year old for ANOTHER 30 MINUTES. No thanks. We left. Not going back. What poor management.

So yesterday we went to Outback for the first time in a long time to celebrate my sisters B-Day. But we were skeptical because we have been told by people/social media that they are not kid friendly at all. So we decided to give them a chance, we went with 2 8yr olds and 2 2yr olds and the staff was great! They were very attentive to our kids needs. Also the food was very good, its really rare to get my 2yr old to clean out his plate but he ate all his food. All in all we defiantly will be going back there with our kids!

This is coming from a person who does not eat beef all too often... but I really enjoyed my experience and the food at this Outback. I came here with my family... and one can notice easily that they are used to HUGE parties. Their employees didn't skip a beat when it came to good service even on a busy Saturday evening. The service was faultless and our server was attentive to every request for bread, water with lemon, and every other detail. They don't take reservations, but you can call ahead to get on their waiting list. Essentially they "bump" up your name so your wait-time is not as long. After calling ahead, when we arrived we only had to wait about 10 minutes before our table was ready. Plus they now have these hand-held buzzers they give to you as people wait (like they do at Panera) and it will buzz when to signal when you get finally order some STEAK. They have a large waiting area and chilled lemon water with little glasses to parch your thirst while you wait. When did Outback get so classy? Or thoughtful? It felt like I was in the reception area of a hotel. Food: The onion bloom was only okay, naturally oily and REALLY salty. But when our server asked about it, he offered to give us another one. We didn't need another onion bloom to fill our stomachs before our main course, but I was pleased with the customer service. He at least offered a solution, so we were consoled. Tres simple. Steak = cooked to order. Nothing out of place. Their garlic mashed potatoes are really good, as are their sweet potatoes with butter and cinnamon sugar. As only a rare frequenter of steakhouses, I was very pleased with Outback. It's a good place for a special occasion with larger parties, family & friends.

This is the worst food I have ever had from an Outback location. My daughter was sick so I couldn't get out of the car and needed curbside service. The staff were very helpful and quick, so no fault there. However, the food was just awful. I asked for a steak cooked medium well. When I cut into it, it may as well have been mooing because it was raw meat. So, I decided to eat the potato. It was okay, but just served with butter and sour cream even though I asked for it loaded. Okay, I guess mommy just gets salad for dinner. Well, the greens were either ice berg white from the center, or brown. What a waste of time and money. If they didn't have the bloomin onion I would never eat here again.

You know the deal - it's an Outback. You come here and make terrible attempts at an Aussie accent and joke about shrimp on the barbie, walkabouts, bloomin' onions in the car. The steaks are very affordable, don't come and try to compare to Morton's, Gibson's, DB Primehouse and the like. Enjoy it for what it is, a Australian themed restaurant with steak that you don't feel terrible putting A1 sauce on. Anyway, J (who much prefers Outback to Red Lobster) brought me here in an attempt to satiate my annual never-ending shrimp craving. Though Outback's version of unlimited shrimp lacked the variety of Red Lobster's - the crispy, buffalo, and scampi options were covered. (I did miss those cheddar biscuits though). Plus, the unlimited shrimp comes with your choice of sirlion, filet, or grilled chicken - kind of like your budget surf-and-turf, with unlimited surf. The first shrimp portion is large, and the subsequent portions are smaller - like the never-ending pasta bowl at Olive Garden. (Note: I am sort of secretly obsessed with chain restaurants.) Our server, Rose, was a doll. She refilled my iced tea SO many times. I had my meat, shrimp, two kinds of potato, broccoli, french onion soup, cheese (see: french onion soup), and iced tea cravings all satiated. Happy camper, indeed.

Food was great. We had an overcooked steak but the manager not only replaced it but took it off the bill. However. The lighting is really dim at night. My only complaint.

The food is the same ...but they have been having major service issues ever since they got rid of the busboys....plenty of hosts at the host stand but they refuse to help the servers bus a table...its called team work...

I got the carry out lunch today (The $15 four course deal) with Pork Tenderloin (good per usual), sweet potato fries (good, per usual), creamy onion soup, bread, blue cheese wedge salad (PER USUAL VERY GOOD) and then I got for dessert (a dollar extra) the 'sinful sundae'. If you took a fist full of dough which was actually ice cream and balled it up, rolled it in coconut shreds and put it in a Styrofoam take away cup that'd be the kind of ice cream you have. The fudge they needed more of in order to really help that ice cream because it was totally not natural. It wouldn't melt for about 20 minutes of me smooching it again and again. I did enjoy that I got freshly cut strawberries on the side though. I would go with the carrot or cheesecake for dessert for takeaway.

Went for a quick dinner on Easter Sunday before catching a movie. Nicole was our server. She was awesome. There was shockingly no wait whatsoever. 45 minutes we were outta there. However the food sucked. Outback changed their menu and got rid of the walkabout soup. That soup paired with the ceasars salad was the best. They did add a tortilla soup which fit in perfectly with the whole Aussie down under theme they have. Not! I can see why applebys was packed and outback was kinda empty. Great service though.

I been in here before....years ago....and it seemes othing has changed. I came in here for a beer and a friend tried out a appetizer, which she liked. The inside is darker, which isnt a big deal, our waiter was on point with being friendly and making sure we were happy with our order, and there was some traffic in here, which is nice to see. Why the 3 stars.....I don't know...it seemed to e nothing had changed since....I think I was in here last in 2004? And nothing looked different. Service wasn't bad , and don't get me wrong don't let my score let you think otherwise....it was a good time, and I get the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it.' Yet it just seemed to be lacking....something. Service wasn't bad at all...and the food was good. I feel like I should re-emphasize this.

Tip 1: get the blooming onion Tip 2: Get the Rum Punch drink, Wedge Salad and Coconut Shrimp with your steak Tip 3: enjoy the atmosphere and the company of your friends We came in on Saturday the 21st around 7 and were sat around 8. I really wish i would have remembered our servers name, because she was wonderful. We were a table of 7, and that's always a little difficult, but our server was able to handle the pressure. I must say, my steak was a little dry, even though it was grilled medium well, but it was seasoned perfectly. I have never eaten coconut shrimp as delectable as outback's in my life. My friend's steak was overcooked(it happens, not a big deal), but our server and the manager ( I want to say Josh) were helpful in resolving that problem quickly and perfecting my friend's steak. We also had a birthday at the table and our server treated us with 2 birthday sundaes, which was a very nice gesture, and greatly appreciated, the ice cream is delish! All in all, we had a fun time...and the atmosphere is great for dates, friendly gatherings, and special occasions!

Another great meal here. Celebrated out day with our new navy recruit. The waiter was very good. We went for an early dinner on Friday. He brought my new recruit a big sundae. My entire meal was good. Maybe one bad part is the lobster tail. I joked how it must have been. Baby lobster as it was small.

I came here with family for a birthday celebration. I had the 6 ounce steak which was good but I had to cut it in half to take it home. They brought me a nice brownie à la mode that we all ate. It was a nice environment. I plan on going back again and would definitely recommend it.

I had a Bloody Mary, some of the blooming onion, some calamari, some cheese fries with bacon and spicy ranch, and the 12 ounce prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. This was my first time at Outback and I thought everything was great except the calamari and sitting next to Bill Gevirtz.

My daughter and I usually visit this outback at least once a month ( if not more ). It was her favorite restaurant, even though they are usually hit or miss on their steaks. We usually order the sirloin always medium and most of the time its either under or over cooked, yet we return for those times its cooked just right and usually the staff is friendly and a manager is walking around saying hello. Well this past friday I took my daughter and a group of friends to the movies and right after (6ish) we went into outback. There were 8 of us. I walked in asked for table for 8 and the lady asked me if i called to make a reservation? Ummm no. Then she said for large parties they have to get the o.k from their manager. WhAt? or you will refuse to sit us? I have never heard of such a thing. Just two weeks before we went in for my daughters graduation and there was 10 of us and we did not have to "call in" or get "managers approval". So she then comes back and says o.k but it will be a long time. Really? no one else was waiting . Needless to say we left and just walked into another restaurant in same shopping plaza where we were seated in less than five minutes by friendly staff.

Took Mom here for Mothers Day. Staff is nice but not attentive. I was very clear in my order in specifying Med-Well for my Steak Medallions. Guess what? Served almost rare.I was also clear in stating no butter on my potato. Guess What? Butter on the Potato. By the time they corrected my dinner the others in my party were almost done. Was told Sorry about that...Geee Thats a way to keep a customer. I most likely wont be back. Besides, half the steak medallions that I got were fatty. And believe me. There weren't many..

I really like the Outback chain, and have been going to them in the Chicago burbs for many years. I know its not an upscale steakhouse, but usually the food is good and priced very reasonably. On this visit, the temperatures of our steaks were wrong, twice. The kitchen at first made his 8 oz fillet well done when it was supposed to be medium, and my 6 oz sirloin was medium rare and I asked for it to be medium well. So the kitchen refired them, while I nibbled on my side dish. My husband at least had his snow crabs to eat. On the second attempt, the steaks were brought out without letting them rest at all. The manager asked us to cut into them, and my 6 oz sirloin was now butterflied and well done. I told him it was overdone but didn't want to waste anymore time having it cooked a 3rd time. (Our 2 yr old daughter was done eating awhile back.) I also asked why it was now butterflied, I never asked for that. He said sometimes the kitchen does that. My husband's 8 oz fillet was medium well, again not what he asked for. We slathered on steak sauce to help but were very dissatisfied. Then our bill came and we were charged for 4 steak meals! The manager ended up taking 3 off, but we never did get the tasty steak we went there for.

Really unfortunate experience. The server not only messed up our order (on multiple levels), but once he could tell I was frustrated he started getting cold to my friend and me. The only reason I gave this place two stars is because once I told the manager we would not be returning again, he was very adamant to be able to try to fix our issue. I just expect better when I'm paying $20 a plate.

That blooming onion taste super good everytime my wife and I go to outback. Good place to relax or for a date night. the staff that we have had is always good to us and they have made good recomendations from their menu what we have wanted to explore other foods. Great menu for gluteen free items. Price is like the other steakhouses except for those brazilean steakhouses but outback is better than Longhorn.

I went here with my brother's family to celebrate my nephews 18h birthday and I have to say I had super low expectations as I'm a Morton's and Gibsons steak kind of guy. This place surprised me. We walked in on a Friday night and the place was jam packed and looked like I was at the immigration office waiting to be called. Hey I'm a minority so I can say this! Anyway we Checked in with the hostess who gave us one of these flashing beepers and we proceeded to the bar area. Bar area was more of an extension of the waiting area as not all people ordered Booz like I did ...but service was ok. The buzzer went off bout 15 minutes after our actual reservations of 7:00 so that wasn't too bad. I had the lobster tail and sirloin and It was surprisingly good. The lobster tail was moist, sweet, and meaty. The sirloin was done perfectly as well ( medium rare). It certainly wasn't prime steak but more like the quality you buy at a Jewel. Needless to say, for the price -- pretty good deal. Before the entrees, we ordered the requisite bloomin Onion and fried shrooms and shrimp. All were really really good. We ended with three types of desert: apple pie, chocolate fudge brownie sundae, and the birthday celebrant got a cake with singing staff that came round with it. I can't say this place would become my usual stomping ground but I'd certainly go back again!

My friend and I went to the Outback this past Thursday and we both left happy and with full stomachs! We went around 4 pm and it was a ghost town with very few patrons in there, which was fine by me allowing us to talk and enjoy our food without the interruptions of loud people and children. We had an AMAZING server that was very professional and attentive. We both started out with the French onion soup, which was fabulous! He ordered the Ribs and Chicken on the Barbie and I had the Sirloin and Choice Shrimp (coconut) side of broccoli and a sweet potato. The server was very helpful and knowledgeable knowing all the sides as well as what is put on them, this was very helpful when he asked "would you like everything on your sweet potato"? Being a bodybuilder everything on my sweet potato is just eating the skin of it...lol He told me all the extra stuff that comes on it and when I said I was not certain I'd like it that way he suggested maybe having it on the side, which I'm glad I did that as the sweet potato was cooked just like I would've cooked it at home, it was moist soft and sweet, my steak was rare and perfectly cooked and seasoned to put steak sauce on it would've been a sin! My coconut shrimp was also amazing! After my friend and I were finished eating we were asked about desert, I knew even though I was full, I had room for desert, my friend was stuffed and said no but I know him too well..lol and while he was away in the restroom, I asked the server about the different desserts and they all looked amazing! Part of me wanted to split the "sweet adventure sampler" with him, and though it looked good I think it would've been too much. So I decided on the "Chocolate Thunder from Down Under." Excellent choice! I was the perfect size for two people to share, the brownie was just how a brownie should be: it was warm, gooey, and moist , covered with a mountain of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream and shaved chocolate on top to garnish it. Though my best friend said, "oh I can't eat another bite" This was obviously very good as he had no issues eating 1/2 of it with me when he returned to the table to see this mountain of sweet goodness waiting for him! My overall experience was Wonderful! Fair Prices, Amazing Service, Clean, Nice Atmosphere, Plentiful Servings, Professional and Attentive Staff. I would definitely come back here again and recommend this restaurant and location to anyone I know.

I've been to this Outback with friends probably four or five times over the past few years. I'm always impressed with how impeccable the service is. The staff is really above target. The food is always good, and tasty. I love the mashed potatoes and the green beans along with the steaks. Last week our group had the chocolate waffle dessert and it was outstanding. I think this Outback sets the standard for how chain restaurants should handle their establishments. Well done

Their awesome blossom is always a winner, as is their French Onion Soup. The only trouble is that you shouldn't really fill up on such starters since their entrée portions are large. Delicious food but very busy at dinner so often there is quite a wait. Free parking in the mall lot.

I know I might be over critical of corporate run restaurants, because it goes by the old adage of you get what you pay for but my experience at outback was not the best but it was not the worst. The host staff was pleasant, and while waiting they did pass out free bites and you were able to get glasses of water, but the bad part of the experience started when we were sat at our table. Were greeted by what I thought would be a friendly server, she went through all of the scripted greeting about up selling to increase check average our table ordered a blooming onion which was good. When we went to order our dinners I and a friend decided to order just an appetizer or two to split as we didn't want a big meal. Well it was apparent that our server did not like this, "I assume you want that as your entree." Of course we did. It also seemed to be apparent prior to this when we did not order alcoholic drinks she also seemed to be irritated as her check average again wasn't growing larger. Our group just did not feel like drinking and two of the other people in our group did not drink at all. My friend ordered the French onion soup and when it came out he asked the food runner if the French onion soup was the small and she stated "there is only one size." Kind of an awkward response as the menu was offering two sizes. Not a big fan of her response. After a few minutes our server came back to ask how things were and another friend at the table told her he had ordered the potato soup and he didn't know where it was and the server stated she would go and check. The friend then stated well if it's not ready you can just take it off the bill. About 5 minutes later and the server returned to the table with the soup of they had it ready. Did she not just hear my friend state he did not want the soup as our entrees were getting close to coming out. Our server returned to check in and everything was okay but I am disappointing when as a customer I or others have to ask for refills as they are free. And the last element of this experience was when we asked the server to split our bill she asked us to please write numbers next to what we had, as a former server this to me was so funny I used to split bills without any guest having to do work. Servers excuse, she wrote all over her order slip so it would be hard for her to split it correctly. I guess after eating here I would have some suggestions for the server: - Please make an effort to appreciate your tables and not make it seem like you were disappointed that our table wasn't drinking or ordering the $25.00 entrees. -Please don't make your tables do any work were not getting paid to do the work you are! -Ask your tables if they need drink refills don't make your tables ask you! -If you forget something on the order just be honest about it, my friend really didn't want the soup, but you decided to bring it anyway? I guess overall this was an okay experience, the reason why I am giving this a two star rating is because this is a corporate establishment so they should be training there staff better on service techniques. Shame on you! I don't know if I would come back.

Hooray Outback. My Mum loves Outback, not exactly sure why?! I don't mind Outback every so often either. The blooming onion is huge and unhealthy. Yum! lol They have steaks at a cheaper price but you can tell when it comes to taste vs a dedicated steakhouse. Ribs were hit and miss, one time they were overcooked and did not come off the bone. Another time they were moist and fell off the bone. Most of the food here is reasonable and price isn't too bad. Was going to give 3 but gave an extra 1 for great service and a great evening.

I'm still a fan, but I have to take them to task on a few things. First, the pecan chopped salad was not as good as it was in the past. I only found 2 tiny pieces of pecan in the whole salad and it was way too wet. Mom agreed that it was not as great as it has been in the past. My second complaint is the crab cakes. Now, I know that any food you see advertised on TV will never come close to reality, but I ordered the combo of prime rib and crab cakes that was also advertised with pics on the menu. Well, the prime rib was fine, but dang those crab cakes were borderline microscopic. They were dry and gray in color as well. Just not appealing at all, and very bland to the taste. The manager was doing a walk around and we told him about the crab cakes. He did offer to serve me new ones, but I lost all desire for them. I just have to remind myself that even at my age, I can be taken in by a picture. I won't make that mistake again. Other than that, the rest of the meal was very good. My prime rib was good, Christopher's steak was tasty and Mom loved her salmon. The service was very good too. We will be back. I won't order any crab cakes and I will pray that I don't get seated near any screaming babies. Otherwise, I say cheers to Outback.

Hadn't been to an Outback in years, and I have to say that I am impressed. The fake Strine is turned way down here -- the only place where I thought the Australian stuff was being spread a bit thick was on the menu -- and the staff is genuinely interested in your getting great food and having a good time. Our party had steaks and ribs, both of which were very well prepared and quite tasty. Our server was very attentive to our needs (and volunteered more bread to our party which had made the customary two small loaves disappear in a big hurry), and the manager was making regular rounds to ensure that all was well with his customers. I was very pleased with our experience at Outback, and have put this place back on my "date night" list when my wife and I might want to treat ourselves to something a little special.

I had a family outing to celebrate 'Father's Day!' Unfortunately Outback Steakhouse was our last resort (Long Story -__- lol). Their steaks were dried and the fries were very salty, as well as their rice! This is my second time coming here and I'm still not impressed! The service was decent. We told the manager that the food was not up to our satisfaction!

A good Outback. I wish the one in Fairview Heights was as good as this one. It's a shame that Outbacks are inconsistent in their food because consistency is the most important thing a restaurant can have. Outback has gone downhill from their heyday and it's sad to see them decline. This is one of the ones that is still pretty good.

This was my fist time at an Outback and I was really impressed. I was expecting it to be reminiscent of crappy Chili's or Applebee's, but I was pleasantly proved wrong. Everything from the blooming onion to my perfectly steamed broccoli was on point. I got the 6oz sirloin and coconut shrimp combo. I was too full to eat more than one of my shrimp, but my husband decided they would make a nice midnight snack. I'm happy to report we will be back very, very soon to get some more. I think our server's name was Kristy. She was so sweet and patient with us. I tend to be a lot like an old person because I can't decide what I want to order, ever. She never rushed us and took really good care of us. Chain restaurant is not evident here.

I really appreciate their customer service at this location. I ordered the lobster tail (small, but delicious) and steak. On this particular night I ordered it medium rare, I had already finished most of my meal when I started to go for the steak and I realized it was completely rare in the center. I was already full and they offered to cook another one, but I asked if they could take the steak off of my bill, not only did they do that, but they comped me my whole meal. They asked that I mention it right away, but the timing didn't work out and I hadn't seen that it was rare until after our server left. I didn't expect that, but it was greatly appreciated. I will be back again!

We have been going to this Outback for the past 3 years every Tuesday night, and I must say, from the food to the service, this place is the best! Todd, the general manager, is such a great guy and really ensures that everyone's experience is great. The food is consistently great, and the service couldn't be better. Peggy is such a great server, and always greets us with a smile. We can't say enough good things about this place. It continues to be a perfect end to our Tuesday's, and something we look forward to in our everyday routine. Can't say that about a lot of restaurants. Take a gamble on this Outback, you won't regret it! And, if you do, let them know, as they have always been great about making the customer happy. Keep up the good work Outback!

Mediocre experience bordering on bad. I've been to this place twice and left annoyed both time. The first time I do not remember what entree I ordered, I just remember that it was meh and I liked the bacon cheese fries appetizer. I decided to give it another try and it will be the last. They seated us at this high up table that was so small the plates of food didn't even fit on it. The server barely paid any attention to us, and neither me or my bf found the food good. Would not recommend, especially for date night.

I visited this Outback on Easter Sunday and it was pretty full. The service was pretty good, but the food was... eh. I ordered a filet with garlic mashed potatoes, but I was a little surprised that they don't put any of the steak's natural juices on the plate. Now I believe they advertise open fire grilling, but I didn't see any grill marks on my filet so I would expect there to be some juices. Anyhow, the filet was merely ok... nothing really to come running back for. By the way, our table ordered a bloomin' onion appetizer and it was on our table within five minutes! Here's the part that killed it for me: Their dessert menu sucks! There are only a few items to choose from and the selections aren't very good. This definitely has to be worked on.

We called ahead on a Friday night to reserve a table for two at 8:30. We arrived at about 8:26 and were promptly seated. After poring over the extensive drink menu I settled upon a big old 22oz glass of Sam Adams. The pour was cold and the beer tasted pretty crisp. We both had a house salad and ordered the steak and crab legs special. $16.99 for a 8oz sirloin and 3 snow crab legs is a great deal no matter how you slice it. The crab legs were actually fantastic. My steak was just a tiny bit on the tough side, and lacked a whole lot of flavor, however, it was still a steak and was pretty good. Our server was quite attentive and friendly and took care of us real well. We were in and out and full of great food in under 1 hour.

My daughter and I love going to Outback. We always order the ribeye and have it classically seasoned (not woodfired). Add a side of their seasoned broccoli and we are two happy campers! The wait can be rather long during mealtimes. They have a bar area where you can wait for a table or eat at plus they have a couple TVs to watch a game. Despite this it can get very loud so sometimes you aren't able to hear anything on the TV.

fast food? not fast on the weekends! blooming onion - yum! but oily baby back ribs - ok, filet with wild mushroom sauce - tough, need more fat just ok, no fast food for me!

As Outbacks go, this one is okay. Nothing spectacular. A few issues though, like the fact that we arrived with our three kids, one of which is in an infant carrier and cannot sit up yet, and they gave us a booth without asking if that was okay. Yes, the booths are big enough, but that's something that a hostess should ask about before just seating the family with the infant. The server we had was pretty attentive, however when she was bringing us our drinks, she stopped at the table next to us and since they changed their drink order, she walked away with our drinks to go change that order, instead of bringing us our drinks and then changing the order. Just a little irritating, since our drinks were on her tray already. The food was good, but my husband did feel that he could have made a better steak at home. Otherwise the food was cooked to order and still nice and hot when it arrived at our table. Overall it was a good experience, but not overly memorable.

I like Outback...have been there twice, each time i had a good meal. I ordered the lamb, which came with a salad and a potato. The lamb was great - totally delicious! The salad was typical dinner salad as was the potato, with sour cream and cheese. I rarely see lamb on a menu, and it is always a treat. One problem, the drinks are very weak. This time ihad several margueritas and no buzz...which may of been good cause we went on to half price books afterward and I didn't lose control and spend too much!! Typical decor for a chain restaurant.

This will be my only review of a restaurant chain but with that said, I always enjoy my visits to Outback. This is the only chain restaurant that my wife and I go to on a regular basis. The place is clean and inviting. We generally try to sit in the booths in the bar area and my only complaint is the lighting over the tables, which is a little harsh. The waitstaff is friendly and fun, and the restaurant is managed well. The food never dissappoints, from appetizers to dessert, it's always consistent and well-prepared. The bar features about 6 or 7 beers on tap as well as an array of mixed drinks. The bread is warm and fresh and the coconut shrimp appetizer is delicious. The salads, soups and sides are always consistently good and the entrees, either red meat, chicken or seafood are always prepared to order. There are also many dinners on the menu under 500 calories. My only complaint is that all the portions have gotten smaller over the years, but they have held their prices fairly well. So if you want a great chain restaurant experience look no further than Outback.

Over the years, my family and I have been going to the Outback for quite some time. My sister is totally obsessed and goes at the television screen whenever the commercial comes on, going crazy. Well, we went here for her birthday. My father didn't have such a good impression - Three times in a row when we have gone on different occasions, the steak he ordered (Outback Special medium well) comes out overcooked and hard, no longer juicy. My mother and I never have that problem. We order the Outback Special, 6 oz., medium well with the sweet potato with a Caesar salad. (Man I love those sweet potatoes with the cream and brown sugar.) Anyways, he usually ordered the 11 oz steak, and since it came out bad, he decided to order a smaller cut, the 8 oz. Still, it was horrible. He seems to have bad luck with the steaks, and it wasn't always like that. I feel like they have gotten a bit cheaper with that. He orders it with the baked potato with everything on it, and my mom and I both speculated that maybe since he ordered it with a baked potato that that was why his meat came out weird. Either way, we don't know for sure. And this time, the meat was still bad. I felt bad for him. Anyways, the service was great, and it's clean. One complaint - the servers need to speak up, they're whispering! My mom says the drinks are too expensive. Example - a margarita is $9 and it is 'flavorless' and 'not even made in house) and beer is $14 for about 11 oz. Pricey much? Anyways, the Bloomin' Onion seems to have gotten smaller over the years. When we asked for extra bread, we were no longer given the two extra that we used to get. Instead we got one on a plate, not even the wooden board they usually serve it on. I think it's their way of saying 'you people don't need anymore starch!' The only reason why we go back is because we haven't found a better place yet, and because my sister begs to go back - She is lucky with her meat, it is juicy and plump.

Decided to stop by for dinner since i was craving their bread. We walked in and the host was very nice and seated us and brought menus everything was going good until our waitress came she was upset and so distant like she hated to be there. Any ways i order a ginger ale and she was rushing us to place our orders..When she brought me my ginger ale its was plane sparking water she probably thought i don't know how ginger ale taste but that's what i ONLY drink.. I told her to take it back and it wasn't ginger ale she looks at me and goes WELL it is the ginger ale we carry here. Food was good but i will not return to this location not when they have a snooty waitress.

Outback is okay. For a mainstream chain, food is okay as well as service. I had the New York Strip with a side of a baked potato. It was actually good. If in the mood for a steak, and in the neighborhood, Outback is a passable place to eat. Overall, okay food, okay service, okay prices.

I rarely go out to chain restaurants, but I had a $50 gift card to here. It was my first time, and my girl really wanted to try the famous onion bloom. It was a lot smaller than we expected. All four of us had different dish, so we all sampled each others. The tilapia was tasty, the chicken on the barbie didn't have a lot of flavor, the salmon was salmon, and the steak, well I don't eat beef, but from what my friend said it was ok, but a bit chewy. My experience was normal. The service is great though. The waitress was extremely friendly and the world cup was on!

This review is more about the service at this Outback Steakhouse than it is about the food. (I am a huge fan of the food at Outback by the way). We went to Outback to celebrate Father's Day and we were able to call ahead and schedule a table for a party of 8. We actually showed up 30 minutes before our scheduled time and the host/hostess desk accommodated us without a blink. The entire staff was very friendly and professional. I am writing this review because our server, Lisa G., was so amazing that I couldn't pass up this opportunity to give her a huge shout-out. Lisa was attentive and engaging and provided outstanding service. Thank you, Lisa!

We just can't come here anymore. I think we've outgrown it. Came here for Father's day per request. We haven't been here in years, but I remembered it being tasty. We started out with the awesome blossom/blooming onion ( I forget what they call it here) and the coconut shrimp. I have to say, the shrimp were quite good. Maybe the best thing we ate that night. I had the rack of lamb, which is still good, but smaller than I remember. Around the table, we had the salmon, the ribeye, and the ribs. Everything was eh. Again, nothing great, nothing horrible.

The food here was pretty good, exactly what I would expect from outback. I got a blooming onion and steak which were both cooked perfectly. What made my dining experience 4 stars is my server! He was so sweet, only seemed to come to our table when we wanted him, so polite and brought us refills before I even noticed I needed one. It was my grandmas 85 year old birthday and he was so great to her, bringing her a complimentary slice if cheese cake and singing the outback happy birthday song. He picked up that my grandma spoke Spanish and made sure to wish her a happy birthday in both languages which was so considerate. Wonderful employee, his name is Medardo on the recipt, pretty good visit!

"Oh no, not a chain restaurant, booo" Yeah, I'm sinking low on the Yelp totem pole for reviewing Outback Steakhouse. But I've been here twice (?!) already, so I can't help but say something about the place. Much to my man's dismay, I can only give this place 2 stars. See, he really likes it here. He's a fan of their ribeye dinner. Which is fine, I guess, but we've been to great steakhouses in the city. Once you've tried 30 day aged, prime bone-in ribeye, it's over. So what's good here? The bloomin' onion, of course. Don't hate. It's hard to resist deep-fried onion petals dipped in a spicy, creamy sauce. Another decent item is the baked potato side. They get points for baking it without foil, leaving the skin crispy and seasoned. What's not so good? The cocktails are weak. The sides are boring. It's similar to (but not as bad) as the nearby Buffalo Wild Wings when it comes to atmosphere. And it's in Skokie, ewww. I'm just kidding, Skokie, you know I love you.

So Fri we gave this place another try and it was pretty good. The blooming onion was tasty and I had the Mahi mahi w/ roasted red peppers and artichokes wich was very good.Rice and vegies were cooked perfectly too. My wife had the ribeye, garlic mashed and vegies and she said it was good too.she was very pleased. Kids meal with grilled chix breast and broccoli. we shared a scoop of vanilla ice cream with choc syrup and oreo cookie crumbs which was excellent. will go back again

The staff is amazing here! They made my boyfriend and I feel so welcome and cared for. Todd Stone (Manager) even dropped by our table to thank us for coming since it was our first time there. As for food, our waitress kept bringing us more and more bread (that was always warm). My Alice Springs Chicken was a smaller-than-usual portion with a side of fries, yet very tasty. We will be coming back! :)

I love steak. I would eat it everyday if I could, however this place is not even near the top of my list when it comes to satisfy my craving for succulent dead animal! I hardly know what to say about this place. The food and service was decent however extremely underwhelming! I just can't see myself waiting for a table here as it seems like this place always has a crowd. There are just too many better otions when it comes to getting a steak.

I went on Easter Sunday and it was good. I always love the bread. I had the lobster and steak. I tend to get my steak medium well now since well done seems to be a recipe for a dry steak, so my steak was good. I had it with a sweet potato and all the toppings at that was yummy, I would go back. Oh, they have a great handle on the portions too. Portion size is just right.

This restaurant is probably the most unpredictable places I've ever been. I have gone back given it chances to make up for the bad meals because at times they are excellent. However, at other times it's really bad. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, when it came the bacon looked raw and had a white-ish color. A couple of other times I had steak which was not cooked to order, had to much fat on the bone and tasted bland. Now, I have also at times had some good steaks here. The onion blossom is excellent and the service is usually good. I really want to like Outback but at this point I wouldn't go back!

At first I was going to give them 5 stars, but then I saw the "as good as it gets" and thought it wasn't quite appropriate.....BUT I do love Outback! The cheese fries, the bloomin' onion, the shrimp, the alice springs chicken.....I love them all! I could love them more but I have to control myself. Its not fine dining, but come on.....they've never claimed that. It never disappoints me, and I have to go at least once a month. Its my favorite chain restaurant!!

Holy fucking food. If you're looking to get completely stuffed to the point of sickness come here and eat. You can get wasted as shit too, because they actually have Wild Turkey 101 and it's cheap! We had probably the best waitress taking care of us. She was attentive and incredibly helpful because we were very drunk and undecided on what food we wanted. Get the center cut filet with a bleu cheese crust if you want to eat like a king. The porterhouse was very fatty, but still incredible. Go there if you're real fucked up so you can eat all of your food and drink plenty of whiskey or bourbon or whatever drink you enjoy. Hell yes! Shit, I almost forgot about my one and only complaint. The retards that were seated behind us couldn't keep their fucking shitty mouths shut about nasty things. That is all.

So last weekend I moseyed over to Outback.I'm not crazy about chain restaurants, but I did have a gift card, so I decided to use it. This was my first time going to Outback Steakhouse, so I was not sure of what to expect. We ordered their famous "blooming onion." I was not impressed. It was battered poorly, which it resulted uneven frying. Maybe I had a bad batch, but that's unacceptable. I was not crazy about the the options on the menu. The service was very good, but the food was so bland. I tried the steak and it was just standard. In conclusion, maybe if I was starving and had another gift card, then I would go back to Outback steakhouse.

I know this makes me a terrible person, but I like the big national chain restaurants. I don't actually know what Outback has on the menu, I just know that they make some awesome cheese fries. I'm very aware of the fact that the regular order has 2900 calories; that's why I get the half order. I also try not to eat all of them, but I figure if I make it my main (or only) meal of the day, then it can't be that bad. The bread they bring out while I'm waiting for said cheese fries is also pretty amazing. I could eat that all day long. (I know, be amazed at my healthy eating habits) I also tried the sangria; it was better than I was expecting, and I'd probably get it again. The only abnormal part of my experience was the waiter: I'm pretty sure he was on drugs of some kind, but he didn't get the order wrong, so I can't complain.

This place is never open. I've been here 3 times and its been closed each time. Never open for lunch. How is that possible? It is surrounded on all sides by restaurants that are all open for lunch. I think I've just permanently crossed Outback off my list of places to go....even for dinner

We just spent $50 at Outback Steakhouse and all I got was this wicked stomachache. I wasn't expecting Alinea-style dining. On the other hand, I didn't get the suburban chain restaurant experience either. Our trio first dined on two shrimp appetizers. The mister pointed out the shrimp in both dishes tasted like an aged dish rag. My beef with the crab stuffed shrimp is that it looked like it had been ripped out of a plastic bag and microwaved for 20 seconds. It tasted like that too. We all ordered hamburgers for our main course. I asked for the Bloomin' Burger so I could have a bit of Bloomin' Onion. The menu purports that it's made of hamburger. Instead, it was made of fail. I asked for the Bloomin' Burger to be cooked so it would be all pink inside. Part of my burger was gray, the rest of it was crimson. Ew. (To be fair, both of the other diners in my party polished off their burgers without complaint.) There were positive aspects to our visit, such as Jamie, our server. She worked hard to make up for the kitchen's failures by serving us enough soda to fill Lake Michigan. She also brought our food out without delay. So goes my experience at Outback Steakhouse. Next time, I'll hold out for Ruth's Chris.

While chain restaurants are not always the best, you can see I have many on this list. That is because when they have a gluten free menu you can usually be sure that they get it, and you will be safe eating there. This location of Outback is the closest one to my house so it is the only one I have been to in the area. The food is really good, the gf menu is also huge and they have gluten free beer which is why they get 4 stars. The service can be very bad especially when they are busy. That is where they lose a star. I recommend going during off hours if possible. I have been to other locations in Grand Rapids, MI and Bloomington, IL and those were both quite good.

I'm not a huge steak eater, so I normally order the salmon or tilapia, but last night, I was in the mood for a hunk of red meat. I ordered the 8 oz. Outback Special, medium. It was, indeed, medium, but it was also lacking in flavor. The cesaer salad was great, as always, and the garlic mashed potatoes were good, too, even though they were so hot that I burned my mouth. In all, I'd say it was an okay experience, but certainly did not live up to my expectations.

I come to this Outback all the time. Great Service, Great Steaks for the price. Since I come here all the time, I've made up some creations of my own. Must have's are; Gold Coast Coconut Shrimp - Try dipping these in ranch as opposed to the standard marmilade that it comes with...Great combo. They serve a mini loaf of bread with butter - Try squeezing several drops of lemmon on the bread and trying it with butter. Creamy Potato Soup - Try it with fresh crushed pepper and some Tobasco.

Went to Outback Steakhouse at 6:30 on a Saturday night. The wait was AN HOUR for 2 people. So I hopped past the host table and looked for seats at the bar. SCORE! Two open seats! The bartender totally ignored us for a bit. However, once we had her attention, she was great. I ordered a house salad which was pretty big and shrimp grillers. OMG. I had so much shrimp (10-14 pieces) and it was delicious. Came with rice, grilled veggies and grilled pineapple. FANTASTIC! Best $14 dinner that I have had in a while. The BF ordered steak grillers and a side of broccoli. He didn't think the steak tasted good but loved the rice and veggies. He regrets the steak decision and was a little jealous of my yummy shrimp. (I did share 1 of them!) He also really liked the fresh baked bread that came out free immediately after we ordered. Total with 2 pops and tip was $48 which was definitely worth it! Watch Out: When we left, there was a 75 minute wait!

I went to Outback in Texas for birthdays growing up. I have fond memories. Here in the Chicagoland area, this is like the closest one to us. I went there last week end w my roommate to celebrate my 28th birthday. I want to give this five stars but the service was lacking and the onion soup is wack. This is my second time to this location. The first time (October) we had the best waitress ever, but this time the guy we had was forgetful and a little i dunno-but he wasn't bad overall (we tipped well over 20%). The food is frickin sweetsweetsweet. I have a mostly vegan diet at home and "out to eat" a vegetarian diet w some fish. You would think, that being a non-mammal eater, it'd be near-impossible to find great food at a steakhouse-WRONG. We found it. I just love love love the frickin food here. For starters we had the margaritas which were 3.75 each and pretty good. Of course they brought their ridiculously amazing dark brown doughy fresh bread with white butter on a wooden cut board with a knife. We chose the Seared Ahi Tuna and boy was it amazing. It was so goooood. It was the larger portion for 7.95. "Sashimi-style Tuna rubbed in bold spices and seared rare. Served with creamy ginger-soy sauce and wasabi vinaigrette ." Both of the sauces i do recommend indeed-unique, tasty and tangy. We decided to order soups, salad, sides, and an entree family style. The soups chosen was a bowl of creamy onion, and cheesy potato (or something like that). The potato one was good, but not the onion one-stringy and way yucky creamy. For sides: the dressed baked potato. It comes dressed with sour cream, butter, chives, cheese, and bacon (i had with out the bacon), and was very tasty, and affordable at only 2.25. For salad, we chose the Blue Cheese Wedge Salad (side salad), which was simply phenomenal! The best salad i have ever had! No joke. The side salad and soup was only 2.50 each since we ordered an entree. The entree chosen was the Outback shrimp Griller. The shrimp was so beautiful and perfect-grilled and seasoned to perfection! It came w grilled pineapple (yum!), grilled vegetables, and rice for 14.50. Just so you know, you can order this shrimp separately with out doing the whole entree bit for about 6-8 bucks. I have tried their fried food here and it is good, but as you all know-fried food creates stormy stomaches. I say-go grilled. It is good, and pain-free. Since it was my birthday, of course they brought a free desert. I think it was kind of like a sunday? It was a big scoop of ice cream with chocolate and oreo pieces on the side and a lit candle on top. They sang to me upon delivery, but it was not long or obnoxious-instead short and sweet. Sweet!

Salmon, roasted veggies, and baked sweet potato. Works every time. The food is good, hands down. There are a lot fancier places with linen on the tables and sharper steak knives, but the bottom line is that this place serves a good meal at a decent price. Forget all of the fussy fuss, give me Outback any night.

The service at this outback was the worse that Ive ever had. Anywhere. The server could not answer any questions about the menu and rushed away before we were finished talking to her. When our orders arrived they were incorrect. My friend did not receive her potato and I received some sort of mushroom sauce on my steak. I sent my steak back to get a new one without sauce. When our server who hadn't been back to our table got wind of this, she stopped back and whispered "what's wrong with your steak"? We explained what had happened and she just walked away. The manager immediately brought back a new steak which I believe was pulled from another diners plate. I asked how it was cooked so quickly and she stumbled over her words and explained that she was able to work something out in the kitchen. Suspiciously, I cut open my steak and it was medium well when I ordered medium rare. Then we, of course, couldn't wave anyone down, including our server, for refills or the check. The highlight of the evening is that my friend did finally get her garlic mashed potatoes and those at least were delicious.

Outback is cutting corners, and not as good as it once was. I was very disappointed at my dinner yesterday. Took a lot time for my steak to arrive, and it was way undercooked !! I also noticed that my steak, which was supposed to be 10 oz. was cut really REALLY thin. No way was this steak 10 oz, even before cooking. The "mixed" veggies were 90 % broccoli, my most UNFAVORITE vegetable.... they used to include at least some chinese pea pods. The A-1 sauce I asked for never came, and I had to walk around the restaurant looking for my waitress to try and get it. Nope -- this place isn't what it used to be. Too bad.

Eh. This place is ok. The food is pretty generic ( I haven't found anything that really stands out). They also made me the worst whiskey sour I have had yet (and that is a big no no in my book). The best part about the restaurant is the bread. It's all you can eat bread and the butter they give you is delicious as well. so, really all I can say is "eh."

Wow. I haven't been to Outback Steakhouse since I lived in Minnesota, and it may have even been during High School, a long, long, long time ago. The one time I went there, it was a new chain and I was so excited to try it. (It was a special treat b/c it was a little bit more expensive than the other restaurants.) I remember the bread being hot and soft and the steak being juicy and tasty. I am surprised that I never went again, though. (Maybe the chains that were more "the place to be" back then were TGIF or Chili's.) Fast forward a decade or so, and here I am living in Chicago--home to new restaurants popping up on every corner every other week. Needless to say, I have never been to any of the Outback Steakhouses in IL. Why travel to the 'burbs to eat when restaurants are so convenient here? So I finally did travel to the 'burbs yesterday to eat at Outback Steakhouse. It was crowded for an early dinner on a Sunday. The environment was the same, the menu was pretty similar and the food was decent. You gotta give it to these types of chain restaurants--they keep it pretty consistent. I went with my friend's family with two children and really, that is what these restaurants are for. They are for large parties with kids and for those who like to know exactly what they are eating. Nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary--just good, traditional American food. (Although, this was sort of Australian American?) The prices are great for what you get! I ordered the smaller prime rib, which came with a salad and a baked potato, for around $15. What a deal! The only place you could get a better deal would be the Golden Angel! One thing about the service, though, it was S-L-O-W. My friend who goes there often says this was pretty typical. I love a good chain restaurant every now and then, it's so nostalgic. And, it is great if you have kids in your party and need a more casual environment. I would definitely go back in another 10 years. Next stop: Fuddrucker's. Too bad Ponderosa already died off here... otherwise I would be all over that!

Being carnivores, my husband and I went here a few years back when it first opened as we heard good things about it. The onion blossom was good but, unfortunately, the steaks were mediocre at best. What surprised us the most was the bill at the end of the meal-for semi-edible small portions of meat, an onion blossom and two drinks, we paid over $80. I figured we paid for the hype. Doesn't sound like too much, but we could have eaten at a nicer place with better food for the money. I believe this place is a gimmick, and not worth the wait.

Honestly, after trying about 90 restaurants in Chicago, Hungry Chicago gives it a 5 star with no regret. If you are looking to be stuffed, here is the place. You can pull it off under 25 and have bread, a salad, a side dish, a refillable drink and a 12oz steak. For drink, we truly recommended the Citrus Cooler, it's a blend of citrus juice, fruit punch, cucumber with a splash of sparking beverage. For steak, there is nothing that will beat the prime rib (medium-rare). We have tried many dishes in Outback, the the never-failing top choice is the Prime Rib and also the Outback Steak. Pricing is very reasonable. Good location on Touhy ave, located in a very fun plaza where you can shop whiling waiting for your seats. Again, you can get everything, including tax and tip around $25.

I know, I know...it's a corporate chain. The staff uniforms are more "flair" than uniform. But I must admit, I've never had a bad meal here. If we are shopping up there on Touhy at one or more of the thousand stores up there, we'll usually hit Outback. Today's meal was enjoyable. We have been on a lengthy streak of incorrect doneness on streaks. The streak ended tonight. My fillet and my boyfriends ribeye were PERFECTLY medium...as ordered. Both delicious. When offered, I accepted the horseradish "crown" which was horseradish and breadcrumbs browned on the top of the steak. Not overwhelming at all. They also offer blue cheese. Didn't notice these options on the menu. The server offered them. Potatoes were good. Steamed green beans were good, and I can swear they were somehow tainted with bacon grease...which is ok for us, but not so for an unsuspecting vegetarian. I could be mistaken about that, but they were very flavorful and it tasted like bacon to me. The cocktails I ordered were good, and probably a buck or two less then they'd be in the city for the same damn thing. Although cheesecake is not my favorite dessert, I went out on a limb and ordered it with the raspberry sauce, and it was excellent. It was one of those thick, New York style slices with no crust. Typically desserts suck at these corporate places, but this one was a winner...and I'm dessert connoisseur! Another plus...we arrived around 5:00 on a Saturday and there was no wait. By about 5:45, tons-o-people started showing up, and there was a wait. Despite this, our server never rushed us out of there, as many would in order to turn the tables more quickly. If you're in the area and in the mood for a good steak (they have other options as well) I highly recommend this Outback. Maybe we were just there on a "good" night, but regardless, it was better than I'd usually expect. With an appetizer, two cocktails, two of those Fosters giant oil cans, two steak entrees, and one dessert, It was about $70 not including tip. We've spent WAY more for terrible, disappointing meals at independent joints in the big city more times than I'd care to count.

Normally, I would give this restaurant 4 stars even though it's a chain restaurant, but I was very displeased with the service today. The food itself is actually very yummy, though today it was a bit salty. Had to ask for serving ware, and a highchair twice. Never received any refills on our drinks either. Found the hostess people a bit frightening....envision the Spartan Cheerleaders on SNL. That scares me.

Most people who visit this place hopefully should know they're not patronizing a high end steakhouse. This is a inexpensive priced, decent tasting cut of steak. When I'm in the mood for a $45 steak, I usually go elsewhere. That being said, we visited this Outback on Sept 3rd. I went with a 10oz ribeye, which came with a salad, and garlic mashed, for $ 16. Another member in my group went with a porterhouse steak at $ 24. Last member of my group with with a shrimp/filet combo for, with did not include soap or salad. (my tip, is always go with the steaks & not the combo). All steaks tasted well. We all went with medium well, which is medium in most establishments. Before the meal, they brought 2 rolls of bread with creamy butter, which is good. Outback allows you to call in and place your name for priority seating, so when you arrive, you get seated a bit quicker.

I know that people tend to be obsessed with Outback but my experience with their steak wasnt so great. I thought the steak was rubbery and had no flavor and although the service was good, Outback isnt my preference for a dining experience.

Good Service and very good food. Sometimes you have to wait to get a seat but it is worth it. This place is also pricey but it has a bar and tv's to watch sports.

This is a great place with great food, that is very kid friendly. The servers are very polite. The only drawback is this place can get packed on the weekends. The food is very good and there prices are reasonable.

  • Joani O.

Service is bad here...food portions have been reduced and the management is sluggish to address complaints.
