Every time I've eaten here, I've been disappointed. There is not much of a selection, and the food is very bland. I would much rather eat at outback or longhorn.

went last night for dinner since we hadn't been there in awhile. Food was not as good as the last time we were here. Had appetizers and ribs and my wife had a steak burger. Hers was ok. The Texas rose appetizer was so extremely greasy that it actually made me sick to my stomach. The ribs were also greasy tasting - nothing like the last time. The food came out so quickly that that you had to eat the hot food before the salad(s). When we had finished we did ask for take out boxes. Another waitress came by and asked if we wanted a bag. Took over 20 minutes to get our check. It's a shame - a place I used to like to go to...we won't be back

I invited my father out to dinner, after offering up many suggestions on where to go, he decided on here (not one of the suggestions). We were greeted and seated rather quickly. Our water came over and took our drink order almost immediately. In fact the service the whole night was pretty spot on. He came by regularly to check on us, but wasn't hovering or annoying. That may be because it wasn't very buys when we were there. Only a dozen or so tables filled. I ordered a porterhouse; my father had the garlic medallions. We both ordered our cuts medium. When the waiter brought them out he even asked us to cut into them to make sure they were cooked to our satisfaction, and they both where. The steak was okay, rather plain as if there was no seasoning on it. The mashed potatoes were okay. There wasn't anything to them to brag about. My dad loved the rolls and cinnamon butter that came with the meal. I didn't eat any. I also had a dinner salad. The lettuce was fresh. I like bleu cheese, they use a creamy bleu cheese that really isn't as strong as I would have liked, but it wasn't bad. For dessert I ordered a piece of Cheesecake. Out came the largest slice of sugar coma inducing cheese cake I had ever seen. It was twice as thick as I had expected. It was too much to finish after the meal. I've had better steaks at a lot of places. This wasn't a bad steak, but it could have been so much better. I guess if you want to play it safe with a standard "get it anywhere" meal, they won't disappoint.

After years of not visiting a Lone Star, we decided to visit the Lone Star here in Rockford. Ambiance was that of Logans or Texas Roadhouse, Perusing the menu reveals similar menus with the left page being appetizers, center page loaded with their "signature" steaks, and the right page scattered with a couple chicken items, pork items, and a few seafood items. I chose the 10oz bone-in pork chop. There was a disclaimer for the Pork Chop that it would take 20-25 mins to cook, I was interested to try it, so I went for it. When it arrived, it was this giant monstrosity, but upon further investigation it was mostly bone!!! In the center was the pork chop about the circumference of a Half Dollar and about 2 inches thick, the rest was fat and bone!! I spoke to the manager about it and they said that it was the only meat that they don't trim/cut in house....that may well be, but you don't serve that kind of piece to a customer. The Chili was good and the Garlic Mashed Potatoes were decent. Oh and there was no Sweet Tea!!! What kind of steakhouse doesn't have Sweet Tea? They told me that people in the North don't drink sweet tea.. Really? because 2 nights prior I got Sweet Tea from Texas Roadhouse a 1/2 mile down the road. And EVERY McDonalds sells Sweet Tea...I doubt McDs would continue to sell something that "doesn't sell in the North" It wasn't terrible, just didn't live up to the $16 pork chop price. I may go back, but probably try something completely different.

Came here for my birthday last Thursday! The service was above and beyond and the staff was very kind. I had an issue with my wine and the kitchen manager came out to my table and asked how everything was and that they would take care of my glass of wine for me. The food was amazing - we ordered the 13ox sirloin steaks and they were cooked just right! Ate every last bite :)

As stated before, I'm not a fan of chains but hubs suggested it and well I can't always get my way. I gave in and we went. I was surprised being a Friday night (and really not that late) how empty this place was. Which obviously is a red flag to some people. The service was great. I wanted the salmon and was hesitant to order it but did anyway and I gotta say, I was impressed. It was very good. I was pleasantly surprised. The place itself was clean, everyone was nice, ya know that usual fare. Not bad.

I am a repeater here. Food is generally good, but a bit pricey. Clean atmosphere.

"Tough gristly ribeye, overcooked steak and shrimp, forgotten glass of wine, slow check delivery. All in all a disappointment after several previous good experiences over the years."

Well, it's clean but so cookie cutter. Better than Applebees and about the same as Chili's. Plenty of room. Fine enough service. Hate hate hate the birthday songs. Ugghhh. give me a break.

Do you love feeding the big business machine? Do you love a crap-ton of food that tastes like nothing? Are you a fan, of boisterous breakouts of annoying birthday song renditions? If you are this place is for you. Got reluctantly dragged here today by the family. I ordered a pepper crusted ribeye. I received a grisled ribeye that had, maybe, a 1/32oz of pepper on it. Mashed potatoes tasted like boxed nastiness with skins mixed in. Creamed spinach was the best part of my meal, and that's onlu because it had cheese on it. My wife had a chicken sandwich, which was dry and beyond disgusting. Dine at your on risk.

We went there for lunch today to try out their steaks and we were happy with the outcome. Our waitress --------was punctual, asked us for drinks order before we started looking at the menu. We saw the dinner entrée "Delmonico" steak for USD 20 and since the menu said it is "melt in your mouth" tender and buttery, we decided to try it. Our waitress came back with our drinks and took our order and to our surprise, she asked us if we wanted the lunch portion or the dinner portion. We did not even know they had a lunch portion. We were not very hungry and were glad she asked. The lunch entrée was 7oz. for USD 10.99 with one side. We both ordered it, asking for medium, mine with spinach and hers with green beans. The entrees took about 15 minutes to arrive and the waitress asked us to cut into the steaks to see if they were done right. It was overdone and she said she would take care of it. About 1 minute later, she came back with two "to-go" boxes and asked if we wanted to take it home. We decided to do it as we know that it would have been discarded anyway - we do like to see waste and I could use it later to cook fried rice or something else with it. About 10 minutes later, we were surprised that they bought out the replacement steaks and sides as well. (From our experience with other steak restaurants, they would take back the overdone steaks and give us back new steaks and would have eaten it with the earlier/old side, which would be cold by now). Anyway, we were asked by the manager who brought out the steaks to cut into the steaks again and found the still to be a bit overdone but we did not mind, knowing that it is quite difficult to cook thin sliced steaks (7oz.) to medium. The manager immediately noticed that my wife's drink was gone and asked my wife if she wanted a refill. He came back with a new drink a minute later. Then the waitress came by and asked if we needed anything else. We asked for A1 sauce and had our meal. The steaks were tender and deliciously seasoned. We were satisfied. During our meal, the waitress and manager came over to ask us if everything is to our satisfaction and if we needed anything. Later after we paid we asked for "to-go" cups for our drinks - she came back in a minute and we left. The experience in Lone Star and the service we got there was just great. The management and staff know customer service and we wish every steak restaurant were as good in their service. Anyhow, we just want to give this particular restaurant a good review and let everyone know that if you go there, not only will you get great food, but great service as well. Good job to the management for having such great staff

Went to have dinner on 8/21/15 at the Lone Star. I left my tip in cash and marked my credit card bill as no tip on $50 dollar meal. Much to my surprise the waitress or restaurant had added $20 tip to my bill. Called the restaurant and was told they would have to "look into it". Called my credit card and filed a complaint. Food wasn't that good and neither was the service. Especially for the $28 tip they took for a $48 dollar meal. Go to Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse.

Yeah I ate here. So what? It was lunch. Ok it was two lunches. And a dinner. And completely unimpressive food each time. Don't bother. One time I had a nice waitress. She was pleasant. Ugh. Ok look here. So if someone tells you this place is worth going to for any reason? Don't trust them on anything else. ANYTHING. Like that bastard gypsy shoe salesman who won't stop knocking at your door just because one time you were trying to be nice and you gave him 5 minutes of your time. In your pajamas. And slippers. Maybe it was the slippers that kept him preaching about his gypsy shoes and all of their gypsy technology. Who knows. Just don't trust anyone who suggests this joint. Unless you really, really like overpriced and average food. Then feel free to buy as many gypsy shoes as you would like.

I've been here a couple times in the past year. Decent food. Clean and everything was the way I ordered it. Nothing spectacular about the food. Service was always great.
