The Fieldhouse Bar & Grill Menu

I've had a few different things from the menu here, and have enjoyed every bit of it. The wings were delicious and they had a very good selection of sauces and dry rubs to choose from. I love the fact that the menu has some items on it that a lot of people would raise an eyebrow to and be afraid to try. But if you do try them, it's pretty clear that someone knew what they were doing when they put them together. For instance, I had a burger there with bacon and peanut butter on it. I'm really open minded when it comes to food, but even I had never thought up a combination like that. It was actually really good. The peanut butter was creamy and kind of melted. The only thing I thought the burger was missing was cheese. I've also tried their burger/grilled cheese combo. I can't remember the name of it but it's basically a burger smushed between two grilled cheese sandwiches. I felt so dirty eating it...and I freakin loved it. They have an above average selection of beers too, with several bottled imports and microbrews, and the service has been excellent every time I've been there. I'm actually surprised I don't hear more about this place. There's nothing to not like about it (other than the noise level sometimes) and it's probably one of the most unique menus in town. FYI...the only reason it gets four stars instead of five is the parking. It isn't their fault, obviously. There just isn't adequate parking at Campus Town for the number of businesses crammed in to there, especially when one of them is a bar that's big enough to hold a pretty big crowd.

Maybe this place is used to students nursing beers for an hour because the servers are among the most inattentive in Peoria. You can get your first one from the waitress and then your second at the bar and then your third with the waitress and so on throughout the night. The place was only about half full up front with one larger table in the back but there were several servers. Ours would completely disappear, once after not seeing her for about 15 minutes, we walked around looking for her but come up with nothing. I would highly recommend sitting at the bar, the bartender has always been friendly and fast. I haven't ever had any food here that stands out at delicious or that I ever want to order again. Sweet potatoes tots are fun although not really my taste and come with a frosting-type sauce to dip them into. I do always encourage someone to order the peanut butter and bacon burger but no one will! I want to see a review of that thing! :)

When I heard Gorman's was leaving... I was expecting it to be another typical CampusTown revolving place... but wow! The Fieldhouse did an excellent job really making it nothing like Gormans. Very modern, clean, lots of flat screens and projections of the games/ESPN. Food is fairly standard fare, with a couple of unique items (jalapeno cream cheese on a burger... or how about the peanut butter and bacon burger-- better than it sounds!) and the usual suspects for appetizers, including green bean fries and sweet potato fries. Great work on the new place. Definitely not just a student hangout anymore!

I asked a local to recommend a sports bar to catch a game on tv and they offered up The Fieldhouse. I was staying downtown and this was over near the Bradley campus. I'm very glad I went! The bar itself is on the smaller side for a place so large but I was able to get a seat right away in front of a nice big tv. I was greeted promptly by Lacey (sp) who offered me a list of the craft beers that were available. I was thrilled to see that it wasn't the usual list of crafts beers you find everywhere. I tried a beer I hadn't had before based on her recommendation and it didn't disappoint. The menu is about what I would expect - sports bar food. I ordered a speciality burger with fresh jalapeño and it did not disappoint. It was a good sized burger with homemade chips for $9. I definitely feel like I got value for the money I spent tonight. The crowd was an interesting mix - young people getting loaded doing shots (on a Tuesday) and an old guy playing trivia drinking a Diet Coke. These were the extremes. I made some small talk with a few other people and they were very friendly. The service was great. The atmosphere really makes you feel like you've been in a place that's been around for a hundred years even though it's in a strip mall. It was a rustic, a little bit of a dive (in a good way) and I didn't feel uncomfortable at all sitting in professional attire. I'll definitely be back. I want to try the wings and fried pickles next time. Thanks for a great experience!

So The Fieldhouse is not the place to go for a great meal, it is the option for catching sports, playing trivia, or grabbing a quick cheap lunch. Highlights of the menu include Pretzel Sticks and Sweet Potato Tatter Tots. Burgers are always pretty solid. Needing improvement are the service staff and the bartender skills. Mixed drinks are very inconsistent so grab a beer for safety.

It's bar food. They exist to get you drunk. The money's made serving liquor. If you're looking for ok to good food don't go here. They're not a food business. Load up on the alcohol if you're there because you don't want to only eat there be sick the next day and not have the liquor as an excuse. Now this was just a couple attempts at eating different foods here. High end soda prices for RC products. Give people a premium soda and stick it to the heavy drinkers with that pricing.

Have been back to fieldhouse dozens of times. I think the food and service has always been great. They are either great at hiring or at training, because all the staff members are excellent. We usually sit outside with our dogs and are given prompt consistent service. Many TVs inside to ensure a good view from any seat. They have live music some nights in the back and trivia tournaments. Stop in, but don't take my seat outside.

The burgers are always good and I love their cheese fries. Staff is friendly, but I always find myself asking for things I shouldn't have to ask for like silverware, napkins or a refill.

Really great burger. Big and tasty. Wings were good. Crispy and flavorful. Wide beer choices.friendly service. Nice crowd.

I have been to the Fieldhouse several times and every time I have left feeling the same...disappointed. The food isn't bad, but its not great and definitely is not worth the price that you pay. Each time my girlfriend and i go, we get a couple sandwiches and a drink and the bill is easily over $30. Thats fine, but it had better be a pretty darn good sandwich, which it isn't. Most of the food you can tell comes frozen. Few things are very good. The bar is always stocked but twice I have gotten a drink and it tastes like the glass wasn't washed. I shouldn't be tasting stale beer in my jack and coke. Service is usually pretty good, slightly slower before or after Bradley basketball games. Sometimes I do find myself waiting awhile to get a drink or the check because the waitress disappears for 15 minutes. The last time i was there it was very busy, but I had to wait 35 minutes for the check! Definitely Unacceptable. The crowd is older, despite being right next to campus. Not surprising considering the prices. The inside looks really cool and it is a great place to watch the game. Overall, I never want to go there, it is always a backup of a backup plan. You just do not get what you are paying for. To the owner: either lower your prices or raise your standards.

I've eaten lunch here several times since they opened. The food is decent. We recently went in for dinner for the first time and had about an hour to eat before we had to be somewhere and the servers seemed to be doing a lot of talking at the waitress stand rather than coming and taking our order. No one greeted us when we arrived, but the bartender did come over and offer us some drinks after a few minutes. I think maybe the servers were new and learning the ropes, so hopefully when we come back we won't have the same problem. Once ours did take our order, she did a nice job of taking care of us.

My wife & I went there on a whim and came away very impressed. I didn't expect nor did I want a fine dining experience. It's a college bar and a pretty good one at that. The deep-fried string beans we had as an appetizer were delicious! My wife had a tenderloin while I, feeling a bit more adventuresome had the peanut butter/bacon burger. Both items were absolutely first rate! One of the best burgers I've had in this area. Service was very prompt and courteous. The name of our waitress escapes me but she was very very good. If I were running a restaurant I'd hire her away in a heartbeat. If you're looking for a place to eat on a football Sunday I'd definitely recommend this place. Good college/sports bar/restaurant.

It's a college bar. Lots of TVs and some cheap greasy food. Usually have decent drink specials. Nothing special.

For all my Bradley-affiliated friends who wanted to know what happened to their beloved Gorman's, here comes the Fieldhouse. I didn't try the food, so this review is strictly based on atmosphere and drink. Atmosphere: C+. I understand it took a lot of work to turn the Fieldhouse into what it is now. Gorman's had that bit of dark, divey charm and tons of Bradley photos and memorabilia. The Fieldhouse has yet to capture that vibe, currently only sporting a few Bradley banners. But there are a TON of TV's there, a nice faux-brick setup, and they really opened up the ceilings giving it a nice clean look. The back room is loaded with wooden picnic-style benches, almost inviting you to a barbecue. drinks: B+. they feature $3 tall Coors Light drafts and $2.75 tall Pabst drafts. And the Captain & Cokes were generously poured and priced ok. All in all, it'll probably be a good meeting spot before/after Bradley basketball games or to watch other big games on tv. For the vibe they're going for, however, it needs a little something more. Pics will go up next time I make it to town.

The Fieldhouse is the only sports bar near campus, but it just isn't very good. And, I think it's getting worse. It smells inside--seriously, like a wet rag. The service is always terrible, and it's nearly impossible to get them to put on the game that you'd like to watch. We came on a Saturday and asked them to turn one of the TVs onto a college basketball game that was playing on ESPN. We asked five people, including the manager (twice) and it literally took them 29 minutes to change the channel.

I do not visit here expecting fancy cuisine. I am here for Buzztime Trivia, beer and darts. That one of the proprietors and her "chip off the o'l block" daughter are great people operating a local business despite Illinois' suffocating economic climate is a worthy bonus. I've had a burger for lunch and a cheese steak sandwich for dinner and both were perfectly fine. It ain't fine dining, and I don't want it to be. It is bar and grill fare done appropriately for its genre.

The only reason this place got one star is because the service was OKAY. Our food looked and tasted pitiful. I was charged $9 for a grilled cheese and side salad. The grilled cheese and fries is on the kids menu for $2.49. I am a vegetarian and did not want anything on their menu. This is what they offered as an option. How come the price was almost 4 times more for an adult !?! The loaded potato skins were empty/hollow. Over all the experience was terrible. You would be better off staying home. Oh and $7 for 5 deep fried pickle spears. OVERPRICED AND LOW QUALITY!!!!!

It was a Monday night and they had half price apps and $2 domestics, and by domestics they mean bud light, miller light, etc not all domestics. Molly's service was great. The atmosphere was standard sports bar with big screen TV's, and a comfortable clean atmosphere with lots of high tops. They have a large back room with games, which can be reserved for parties.

As a somewhat regular visitor of the Fieldhouse, I have much to share. Drinks are fine. Its a bar. They get this part right as far as I am concerned. Cleanliness: Its a college bar. Atmosphere: They remodeled a few years ago and it was worth the wait. Staff: Good. They really don't get the credit they deserve. Food: You knew it was coming, right? Here's where the Fieldhouse could use some serious improvements. Which, by the way, wouldn't be difficult to implement, should anyone take the time or initiative to care. The nachos are decent. Pretty much everything else, skip it. Eat something at home. The pizza is CONSISTENTLY undercooked, the cheese is pale and the crust is soggy. The wings are dry. The french fries are ALWAYS undercooked. The Chipotle Turkey Club sounded good, but I won't make that mistake twice (the turkey was deli slices, bacon was undercooked, cheese wasn't melted, the pretzel roll floated in grease). I would feel bad about ranting in this fashion about the food, but here's the thing: its just lack of execution. No one cares what kind of food they are serving, so they source the cheapest food/ingredients and they get away with it because most college kids don't know the difference. And I will continue to visit the Fieldhouse. To drink. And watch football. To end on a high note: THANK YOU Fieldhouse, for understanding that if you have 50 televisions, you owe it to your patrons to pay for the NFL Ticket. And for that I am grateful.

I had the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. My wife and I go here every now and again because they have decent pizza and beer pretty cheap. However this time I had decided to order their cheese steak sandwich. My second bite into the sandwich I bit something hard. I had to spit I out. When I did, I was shocked to learn what it was. A SCREW! There was a metal screw in my sandwich! Needless to say, but I will not be going back.

Decent craft selection, very good lemon pepper wings, plenty of TVs. What a sports bar should be.

This is my favorite place to go in Peoria for a beer and a sporting event! There are a ton of TVs and you can view them all from the open layouts of both rooms. The waitstaff is outstanding and all very fun as well. The food is top notch, I suggest the chicken philly steak, the Cajun tenderloin, the tenderloin horseshoe and the Irish nachos ... There are plenty of other things on the menu. The only semi-complaints are that they did away with the buffalo shrimp wrap as a menu item and they cycle between what light beers they have on tap (Miller for a few weeks, Bud for a few weeks, etc). My friends and I always choose this venue to celebrate events or just to hang out and get some great food.

Quick delicious lunch stop! I had a grilled chicken wrap with honey mustard. My friend had the same with teriyaki sauce. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was great. I was in and out in an hour with a lot of time to chat. I will be back.

A bit slow on the service, but I was in no hurry the 3 times I went. The food was abundant and very tasty for the price and I had lots to take home.

The food has improved quite a bit lately(up from fair to above mediocre), and their lunch specials offer a great value. 8.99 for 8 boneless, fries, and a drink. The food is on the higher end of bar good, so that is a big plus. Don't quite understand a sports bar that doesn't have bud light on draft though. Parking is terrible, but that is not their fault. Do be prepared to walk through a cloud of smokers on your way in many nights.

It's a bar. Good food, great sweet potato fries. I would recommend it if you just want to have a bite and a brew. No wow factor though, but good.
