My last good experience was in 2013 for a memorial dinner for my brother. We ordered the buffet for everyone and an open bar. Food was great, service fine and everyone left full and happy. However shortly after that, the discontinued the buffet as part of the restaurant. I stopped by and/or called 4 or 5 times. The 4th, the hostess stated the buffet would be back after the (Christmas) holidays. This was the end of 2014. After 2 more calls, I was finally told that there was no more buffet. There's no reason to go there anymore, unless there is a banquet, and there just isn't enough family members left for either a happy or sad get together. Sorry to see so many negative reviews, but I am afraid they are probably justified :(

I feel the need to write a review about Lone Tree Manor as my experience with them was nothing like any of the reviews on here. I had my wedding reception held here last summer in June (2013). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful from start to finish. The food was just as I requested (no mix ups of any sort) and it all tasted delicious. All of the silverware was clean and we definitely did not have any fruit flies anywhere. I had no complaints and was really happy with how everything turned out. I included few of the pictures that I have from the reception.

Not impressed with this place. I went here on 2 different occasions: one was my sister in law's wedding and the other was my friend's son's baptism. Both times I wasn't impressed with the service or the food. The "salad" was only a few wilted leaves with a few drops of dressing. The entrees were forgettable. Service was atrocious. Do yourselves a favor and look somewhere else.

Had to write a review for this lousy place so that no one will experience what we experienced today while attending a wedding shower for our relative. Let's start with their food. Food sucks and I am being nice here. The only thing they could not screw up is the mashed potato. The service was the worst I have seen in this type of setting. The servers were spilling the food on our lap and very very rude. We booked from 12 noon to 5:30 and they also booked another party at 4:30 and told our host that we all have to leave. They are so lucky the host was nice. This restaurant does not deserve a rating. Yelp would not let me post this without rating this lousy lousy restaurant - Had to select 1 star people...Yelp please add a red star in your rating selection for future use.

NOT Impressed - I just recently had my daughters baptism here and I must say I was not impressed, very disappointed and stressed out the entire time of my event. I met with Helena and she was fantastic, we went over all the details of the event from food selection to decor. When it actually came done to orchestrating the event it went down hill very fast the day of. Here are a list of the problems: Upon entering the room the bartender and waitresses should be ready to go with drinks on the shelf and food on the platters to be passed. This was not the case. The bartender needed to run in the back every so often to pull something and would not be present to serve my quests. My guests also shared with me that she did not know how to make several of the simplest drinks including a amaretto stone and sour. (she left out the part sweet and sour) I was told that 1 waitress for every 3 tables would be present - that was not the case either. Appetizers- my husband and I both hand selected the appetizers for our event, several of those we picked were not available and they substituted for rolled sandwiches. Meal- If you order a cream of something... the consistency should not be WATER. It should be creamy like we selected. Bottles of Wine- My guests could not sip on wine during the first half of the event because the bottles were not uncorked. i had a guest ask me if they could get someone to open them.. How embarrassing. Cold selection Platters: Shrimp was frozen and not properly thawed. So my guests could not have it until almost the end of my event. I had previously asked if I would bring in some items to decorate would they set it up and they said it would not be a problem. So i had purchased candles that were not lit until i was sitting down to eat dinner when i noticed it. I mentioned it to the staff and she began to lit each one on the tables. A little late don't you think. That's typically done before guests arrive. Baby Crib- WARNING.. Please inspect the furniture when you look at venues. This particular round infant crib looked adorable from afar but upon inspection prior to my event I found that two wheels were broken off and a piece that was to secure the legs was broken off. I was told that it would be fixed for my event. With the benefit of the doubt I used it and my child slept in it most of the event. It was not until a child came up to my daughter leaned up and the crib moved.. sure enough we check the stability under the linens and i find the crib to be still broken and being leveled by a piece of thick wood (see picture). Can someone please tell me how this was repaired and how in the world is this safe.. i see a liability! 1 hour before my even was to conclude- of course you have guests that are going to leave and some tables will appear to be empty. But why would staff be disassembling tables and chairs while my function is still going on? It looks so tacky and unprofessional. I felt like they were pushing us to leave early. I'm sorry but did i not pay for a specified amount of open bar and did i not pay for my function to be over at a specified time? We felt pressured to leave earlier than what we actually paid for. Typically the staff would disassemble and clean up when all guests have left for night. This was my third time coming to Lone Tree and it will be my last. My previous two experiences (Friends wedding shower and wedding) were fine and cant really remember if there were any problems. I do not believe they have repeat costumers and i realize that ever experience will be different but honestly this was by far the most disappointing event i have hosted. I just hope my guests had a good time and maybe didn't see the problems. I expressed all my concerns to Helena and she was upset with the outcome of my event. I have not been offered a discount of some type or compensation as of yet. Please review your options carefully and inspect everything. ask them to make a cocktail for you and sample the food. Be sure to get an actual written contract when your spending so much money.

This is one of the places I wish wasn't associated with Polish owners. I cannot believe they still stay in business. I've been here on several occasions and their food is terrible, doesn't resemble real Polish food, as it is cold and dried up. There is no real ambiance to the place and the staff is extremely overworked, leading to poor service and mistakes. At the most recent wedding we went to, the two banquets halls had a total of 3 waitresses! (at least 100 people in each room).

I'm not sure which Lone Tree Manor most of these reviewers went to, but it certainly wasn't the Lone Tree Manor where I just had my wedding reception. Although the management is a bit old fashioned (details were recorded in a calender book, not a computer), everything was exactly to our specifications and as promised. The food was delicious and our guests complimented it highly. How can you argue with potato pierogies, three kinds of meat, soup, salad and other side dishes? We shopped around for reception locations in Chicago and the northwest suburbs and Lone Tree was by far the most reasonable. They also did a great job decorating the tables and the banquet room has been recently redone and looks fantastic. The large dance floor and spacious accommodations were perfect for our large guest list of 225. I truly have no complaints and would highly recommend this place for a wedding reception if you want excellent food, a fancy feel and a good price.

So gross. I'm here, right now, and the food is terrible. Glasses and silverware dirty and I'm currently watching some kind of insect/fruit fly dance on my flat soda. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. You start out with some stale bread. Then a bowl of chickenish noodle soup that appears to be Mrs Grass without all the annoying "flavor." My salad came out and I had wilted, brown lettuce. Gross. For the entrees, we had polish sausage (ok), breaded pork patties (ok), Silesian dumplings (mushy), some kind of beef medallion thing, instant mashed potatoes (no joke) and sourkraut that was not sour and was plain disgusting. I should've trusted the previous reviews but I'm here for a birthday party. We asked the waitress for straws and she brought out three straws wrapped in her shirt. Wrapped in her shirt! There are so many better Polish buffets to visit---Jolly Inn, White Eagle, etc. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE.

HA. Thats all i can really say. I cant really believe the health department lets this place stay open because the amount of "food" they bring out doesnt even fit in all the warmers for the buffet. The place probably looked pretty good, 48 years ago (and has not been updated since). The place is run down, and if that was not enough, our small party of 15 was really testing the wait staff to the point that they just stopped showing up. I will never be back. ever.

I come here a lot with family, and the buffet is good. I like a lot of diversity and I'm polish, so it grabs me.

Talk about rude service, I simply asked where the restrooms were, no need to bite my head off! I swore the server purposed put one of the untouched dishes off to the side makes me wonder.

I came here for a baby's baptismal reception and the banquet area was pretty presentable and the perfect size for the amount of guests that showed up. The caterers weren't too fluent in english and so making requests weren't so easy. The food was okay overall, but I'd have to give them props on their friend chicken and mashed potatoes! I was expecting to have a bad experience, but it exceeded my expectations.

We had my grandpa's funeral luncheon here today, and the food and service were both AWFUL. First, they got the food order (placed 3 days in advance, by the way, in writing via fax) wrong. When I brought this to the waitress' attention, she very rudely shrugged, made a smug face, said "Not my problem", and left the incorrect food on the table. I again said that the order was not correct, expecting that the restaurant would want to correct their mistake. Instead, she snapped at me since we didn't have the exact number of people show up that we'd anticipated. Then she walked away and came back with a menu written in Polish (which I don't speak or read) and tried to tell me that the order was correct. I asked her to come back with the English menu that I'd faxed to them. She walked away and completely ignored the issue of the incorrect order/menu in English. In the meantime, we were clearly able to hear women screaming at each other in the kitchen. Professional, huh? It was also clear that they hadn't bothered to vaccum the floor before our reservation. There were beads, bottle caps, and other stuff littered all over the floor. There was even a thumb tack sticking pointy-side-up that my baby nephew barely missed as he was crawling. Didn't let him crawl after that! Then there was the food. Almost everything they gave us was obviously a few days old, at least. All the meat was dry and extremely tough, and like I said, some of the food wasn't even what we'd ordered. The rude waitress had a scowl on her face the entire time. Also, when we got the bill, they tried to charge $10 for the infant in our party (regular price per adult was $12.99)! Did I mention this was a funeral luncheon? I was so disappointed and upset, not to mention embarrassed at having chosen this place. In fairness to me, it came highly recommended by our funeral director. I definitely let him know about our terrible experience. He won't be making that recommendation to anyone else! I definitely would recommend steering clear of this place, ESPECIALLY for special events. Worst experience ever. I guess it should've been a clue when we walked in during lunch hour on a weekday and the place was EMPTY...

Expensive and service sucks. No one serves drinks at the bar and the food is just average.

I bought a raffle ticket at an community event and won 2 free dinners to this place, so my husband and I decided to take advantage of it. It is just your typical banquet hall in need of updating. The buffet attracts an older crowd, so we felt a bit out of place. The food was really nothing special.

  • Amanda S.

This place was terrible. Bad food, not great service, and waaaaay over priced. They charged us for pitchers of soda, when refills are free and they only gave us the pitchers so they wouldn't have to serve us as often. Ended up being $20 a head. Also, the mashed potatoes were clearly from a box. Lame.

Salty food. Stale dessert. Service below mediocre. Runny salad dressing. Smushy pieroggis. Felt like an extra in that movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding with the ambience of the ballroom. Bright, obnoxious, décor way over the top, mirrored walls outdated. CLEAN BATHROOMS!!!! That's it???? Yes! I may as well stay at home.

Still P.O'd at these people. We recently hosted a luncheon here after my dad's funeral; it was one of the places suggested by the funeral home. The food was fine, but the service was awful. When you walk in, you see separate rooms - one on the right labeled "Restaurant". We assumed we were in the other, the banquet hall. There is no hostess stand. There is no one at all to greet you. So we stood and waited. And waited. No one came. With 14 hungry people in our party, I sent my husband to get someone so we could be seated. Alas, this set the tone for the entire lunch. Waited a long time before they began bringing food out (again my husband had to hunt someone down). When they did, we put in our drink orders (there was a carafe of wine on the table, and water); it took awhile before soft drinks and my daughter's milk arrived. I had no real issue with the quality of the food; the smoked sausages were especially tasty. But at the end, we had a fair amount of food leftover; there was an untouched plate of roast chicken at my table. You pay for lunch by the person; we paid for 14 people ($11.95/each). But when we asked if we could have some of the food boxed up for us, we were told no - not unless we paid for five more people. So you won't let us have the food THAT WE PAID FOR, unless we pay you another $60? My husband said no and off the food went - to the garbage, or perhaps for a busboy to take home. I don't know what makes me madder: that perfectly good food (OUR food) went to waste, or their attempt at extortion. It is appalling. The set-up of the room also became an issue for us. The banquet hall is separated into two by a dance floor. Another funeral luncheon occupied the full section on the other side from us. It wasn't a problem until people in the other party decided to get up and give toasts and tell stories about the deceased. As we were within earshot of them, we felt uncomfortable keeping up our normal volume of conversation. Basically we were at the whim of this other group. Couldn't Lone Tree put up a partition or something? At this point, we were near the end of the meal. (They never brought out tea or coffee after lunch, either. Which we paid for). So we waited endlessly - yet again - for them to bring the bill. They didn't. I suggested we all start walking towards the door. Guess what: a pissed-off woman came running then. My husband told her, "I thought you forgot about us." Beware of this place. Go to White Eagle, go to Riggio's for an Italian meal - just avoid this place at all costs. Never again.

I'm sorry to say this but I honestly thought this would be a great place to hold a banquet. Boy, was I completely wrong. The owner treated us like dirt not to mention the fact that we had our banquet until 12, he yells like a maniac in polish and hurries us to leave by 11:30. We barely got all our things out of the banquet room, and he ended up closing all the lights!!!! We had our banquet until 12 and he decides to kick us out before 12? I don't think so!!! This is by far the worst banquet hall place I have ever been to in my LIFE!!!!!

We had a cousin that got married here a few weeks ago. The wedding reception was great in the sense that two completely different cultures were uniting and making their guests join in as ONE BIG GROUP having fun. Take away all the special personal details and touches the bride and groom put in place for this joyous event, you have a banquet hall that just MEETS EXPECTATIONS. I feel the dinner set up was really disorganized. There were way too many dishes on the table with little room to even move your fork. It seemed really cluttered. The appetizers were good that were being served by waiters walking around with trays. However, the family style dinner was not impressive at all. The mostacolli tasted bland. The chicken was ok, but not anything to write home about. The vegetables and potatoes were just mediocre. It took awhile for the staff to clean off our tables. It got so bad, I started walking my dishes myself to the nearest *dish cart*. When you would try to get someone's attention, they would act like they don't see you and keep walking. The coffee was horrible..after one sip, I just left it there. We noticed later in the night one of the staff members was walking around picking up the extra creamers and butters - putting them in plastic bag. You would think they would clean up the tables and give us some elbow room. Again, the bride and groom made the party great. The banquet hall was just a place to hold the party. I do not hink I would like to host any type of event here in the near future unless major changes have taken place.

I always hate coming here I wish people would stop hosting baby showers and such. I'm Polish but this is one Polish restaurant I do not like!! I was here for a wedding and the food was OKAY surprisingly! so that's why I gave two stars. Recently I was there for a baby shower, I came late hence I did not want dinner. The waitress was rude and brought me soup, I told her about 5 times I came from a different baby shower I already ate. O well she brought out the soup when I told her I donut want the second meal she got pissed off, I told her to put it in a to-go box so I could dump it when I left. Whats worse is that they had bridal shower and baby shower in one room, you could not hear a THING. URG I wish Lone tree would shape up and make some decent food, I already told my mom I do NOT want my bridal shower or baby shower or ANYTHING held here!!!

  • Rachelle G.

One word, yuck. And while I probably should give it one star, I'm sure there are far worse banquet halls out there. I've been here a handful of times for various things. The most recent was last weekend for a cotillion. While the rooms themselves are fairly decent. The mediocre service and almost inedible food make me want to run in the other direction. Honestly, I'd rather eat McDonald's than eat here. Everything is dry, lacks flavor or they try to smother it in some bland sauce. Really, it's not that much more money to make the same dishes that actually taste good. I'm not asking for a gourmet entree but at least give me something that's somewhat edible.

We booked & held a party & Lone Tree Manor & it could not have been worse. We guaranteed 75 people and ended up with ONE server for the majority of the 4 hour party. On top of that she was an angry person & not at all helpful. They nickel & dimed us from the minute we started the booking process. Do not fall for the pricing per person, it's a joke. Just stay away from this place - it is truly a terribly run business. As close to a "bait & switch" as I've ever seen. A quick story...one of our guests took a rose from a centerpiece & they tried to charge us $25 (on a $1,500 bill) for the flowers & made a huge deal out of it. Then they attempted to stick us with their 3% credit card processing fee...WOW. By far the worst business I've ever encountered. DO NOT HAVE A PARTY HERE. Dan

  • Sonam V.

Ready to have a party? Be sure to reserve this great banquet hall for that special occasion. Everything from Philipino Cattilions (sp?) to Greek weddings are held here, and the friendly workers welcome people from all over the world. The two halls are not too large, and provide a cozy atmosphere for a family gatherings and parties. The food isn't too great, but the caterers can be changed.

I just had my wedding there a couple days ago! Let me tell you,the service was HORRIBLE!!! We had a bartender that was also a waitress & the coordinator of my party??? Things that I had requested were not done. I requested pitchers of pop for each table as soon as the party started. That was not done in till I got to the party (an hour after the party started)! I the bride had to wait for 15 minutes for the bartender to get to the bar so I can order a drink. Don't let them fool you on having an bar open for a certain amount of $ & then later you are able to add more $ to keep it open, because they totally will scam you. Find out how much it is $$ for 1 hour or 2hours open bar instead. Also, I requested high chairs for certain tables & provided a list for them & the high chairs were not placed on the tables. I must say that the food was great & for the price. I can't complain about that. I guess you get what you pay for. I truly wish that this place would get a little more organized & have 1 person to contact in regards to parties. I would refer people here if they got more organized & understood English!

Dan

Pretty good food. Good chicken noodle soup and very good chicken. Good pierogi too. Pretty inexpensive place to hold a party at and the staff seems pretty nice.
