Let me just say that this place is not going for traditional. That being said the food is very good. The rancherito steak plate was very tasty and loaded with steak, rice and beans. The margaritas are good too especially for the price. The decor is very unique and I was a little surprised by it but it was fun and commenting about them gave us something to do in between bites

I usually come and get great service. But recently it has gotten worse and worse. This time last night 9/14 around 7pm has made me make the decision to never go back. My boyfriend and I waited for 20 minutes until we got chips and then I tried to flag down two waiters and they ignored me completely. I recommend no one to go there.

Below par food, saying they aren't going for authentic is a complete understatement. We ate about 3 bites of our food then couldn't stand it anymore, the sodas were so watered down I am not so sure they weren't just mixtures of drinks other people didn't finish. We took a small sip and pushed them away. The so-called waiter was nothing more then an obnoxious punk that had nothing better to do with his time then be completely useless and a perfect example of what Customer service isn't. The even worse stand in for a Manager told us their food was the best in town and we just didn't know what Mexican food was. That is completely and utterly laughable but on par for the terrible experience in this place, I won't call it a restaurant for fear of insulting the other restaurants in town. The food from Taco Bell is far better and closer to authentic then this place even attempts to be. I like the comments from another poster about up charges, they tried that on us. My wife wanted ground beef instead of steak, they tried to up charge her for that. When my bill arrived they had also attempted to charge me a gratuity on my bill, when I told them I was in NO way paying that they once again tried arguing with me. They did take $2 off our bill, since we didn't finish our drinks, for that matter we didn't even hardly touch the hog slop they claim is food. If you are looking for a place to eat in Macomb, do NOT stop in this place and expect anything other then rude behavior, terrible food, and worse service.

Very good food! One of my favorite places to eat in Macomb! I love the chips and salsa they serve before your meal! The chairs and tables are also beautiful! They are colorful and have pretty pictures!

SERIOUSLY THE WORST RESTAURANT IN MACOMB. the worst service possible. they upcharge everything they can and completely make up the up charge. they upcharged me for something completely random and it didnt even say they upcharged for it on their menu the upcharge changes everytime i go in. when i asked someone about it they walked away and told someone else to deal with it and then that person was rude. go to guadalajara down the street where you have good food and good service.

If you are coming here for authentic, amazing mexican food...wrong place. If your coming to have fun, drink, and enjoy your friends you are in the right place. Please, make friends with the waiters and of course Santiago the owner! All of the food tastes good with a margarita. 4 star because I dont think in all my years at WIU I ever missed a birthday at El Ranch, even some unbirthdays because I loved the sombrero and flaming birthday shot. I def suggest it for anyone looking for a place for a pregame dinner. You can be as loud as you want, there is space for big groups, and the margs are huge!

OMG Be careful the margarita is huge! I have seen smaller bathtubs - and delish - especially after 3 of them - yummy taco salads warm tortilla's fresh guacomole -- perfect perfect - what a HUGE menu and teh staff attentive wthout being annoying yea - mexican in Macomb

OK here is the real truth! This was the worst mexican food I have EVER (NOT) eaten. I am originally from California and I know what real, authentic mexican food is and this isn't it! Three of our group got combination plates with several different items and I can tell you that the burrito, taco and enchiladas all come with the same bland sloppy joe type runny meat and the Chile Relleno which is supposed to be a cheese filled green chili dipped in whipped egg whites and fried, then covered in ranchera sauce and topped with melted cheese...well, what I go was this same sloppy joe meat with a piece of a green chile covered with a not so melted hunk of government cheese that didn't even get melted. THERE IS NO MEAT IN CHILE RELLENO!!!!! No one in my party ate more than 1/3 of their dish. This is a huge red flag hopefully to the owner, that his food sucks! Notice that all of the other reviews all included how good the drinks were, which I have no doubt is why they didn't notice the food is horrible!

Great Food don't know what the one reviewer wanted but this is what we in the Midwest know as Mexican food. I'm a local person and it's great service, clean to a fault and they are busy but very quick. Love it !!!!!!
