Recently myself and some of my friends went for our monthly girl's night to this place. One of them has severe MSG allergies where she gets migranes and vomits so of course she requested anything that did not have MSG in it. At first the waitress said they can't guarantee anything without MSG since they have it in the seasoning for most of their entrees. She quickly cancelled her order and was going to just have a few drinks and eat their rolls. This would be a bad review if nothing was done from here. A few minutes later a kitchen manager came out and asked what she would like to eat and she would personally make it for her. She ended up getting chicken, with the skin peeled off with veggies. I just love that they went above and beyond to do something like that. With so many people havnig MSG allergies, it's nice to know that resaturants do care about their customers! I would give 5 stars but the waitress wasn't very attentive and gave us our checks right away without asking if we wanted dessert.

For me it was a 5 but You do have to like meat A LOT to love this place. The selection was very unique and flavorful. For dinner I had stake since everyone raves about it on Yelp. The service was very helpful, and the BYOB is of course fabulous. It was crowded on a Saturday night, but the place was big and had decent ambiance. Good time definetly worth a drive.

Here's a chain that's worthy of the oft droned on proclamation via the yelp massive....oi vey, chains!! Yea, i'm one to actually stick up for them, claiming that chains aren't inherently bad, and moreover can be pretty damn good, if not great on the rare occasion. This place is gimmicky. Real gimmicky, and if the food were to match the contrived atmosphere, we're talking a 4 at worst, prob closer to a 5er. However, the food didn't stand up and my country fried chicken w. white pepper gravy, while looking ok and started off fine, ended up being a textbook case of the law of (quickly) diminishing returns. Pehaps it's the fact they didn't drain the grease off properly that left the bottom of my plate, well, grease laden. Sounds worse than it really was but this is rookie, bush league stuff, how much effort does it take to drain off fried chicken. She had a bbq chicken breast that was about as humdrum, hohum as they come. The highlight: the incredibly soft and toasty warmed buns w. cinnamon butter that came pre-meal. All else was an afterthought to an otherwise terribly average to below average meal.

Not a big fan of chains in general but, I only go here if someones insists on going here and if they're picking up the check. Place is packed most of the time and atmosphere reminds me of a crowded bar in Morris if you catch my drift. I always get the full slab of ribs ($17) and have noticed as of late that the slabs have looked somewhat smaller than usual, like a few tips lighter than I'd remember. Don't get me wrong, the food isn't bad but there's better places nearby that's all I'm saying.

Family ate here this week for my birthday. Although noisy and always busy, we always have a consistently good meal here. Their rib tips, filet migon, and country fried chicken are great. You get to eat peanuts in the shell and delicious, hot rolls with cinnamon butter until your food arrives. I like that you get to choose 2 sides with most entrees and they offer sides that other steakhouses don't have. Most important to me is that they ALWAYS cook my steak the way I order it! Service is always good. Even though they are crowded even during the week (the best restaurants are!), you can call ahead of time and they will put your name on the waiting list.

Met a friend here for dinner last night. I don't live in the area anymore so I haven't been here in some time. All I really want to add to or original review from 6 years ago is that the bathrooms are still disgusting....actually more disgusting. They only have 3 stalls in women's room to begin with. Bathroom was filthy as expected and there was a stall out of order. There are HUGE gaps in the doors. So as I was waiting for a stall to open I had to stare at the wall to give the women using the stall privacy. Just horrible that after all these years these restrooms haven't been taken care of. I've used portapotties that were cleaner and in better shape.

I love this place for the ribeye and the ribs combo. Ribs fall off the bone. Their bread with the cinnamon butter is delicious. Their staff is always friendly.

In honor of Veterans Day, they were giving veterans (and active duty) a free meal. I thought this was a good opportunity to final try Texas Roadhouse. At first I was a apprehensive to get a free meal just because I am a veteran, but then I drove into the parking lot and it was packed. Seemed like I wasn't the only one (sigh of relief) with the idea. I have to say, from the moment I walked in, I was impressed. Since there was a wait, I asked if I could sit at the bar. The hostess cheerfully responded yes. I sat at the bar and Jenna, the bartender, asked what I would like to drink. Jenna's service and attitude both caught me a little off guard. The service was fantastic and the attitude was even better. Jenna was very cheerful and attentive, even with a packed bar. The food was good, the service great. I would pick Texas Roadhouse Joliet, and Jenna, over Lonestar Steakhouse anyday.

This place is "okay".. it's a typical chain restaurant. Nothing spectacular. The only reason I give it two stars instead of three is because of their large party policies.. 1) They do not do call ahead seating for large parties and they do not have tables that accommodate more than 5 people. They do at least try to get you tables side by side. 2) We asked for separate checks before we placed our order. We were told that due to their large party policy, they could only split our bills if the people across or next to each other were on the same check.. what?! Because of the way we were seated, we each ended up with two checks..

The BBQ is very good. The sides made from scratch are fair. If your looking for a quite place to eat, this is not it. Room is loud and they are playing country western music ( of course ). Service is very good both times I have been here.

After yesterday's experience I have to re-review Texas Roadhouse, and bring them up a couple notches. The boy wanted this for dinner, and I clearly did not, and wasn't to excited to go here. Everyone I know just gushes over Texas Roadhouse, and I'm just like "Whatever B****!" My last few visits were less than stellar, but they redeemed themselves last night. I had the road kill, which basically is a chopped steak with grilled onions, mushrooms, and jack cheese. I was very disappointed that it was basically a hamburger with no bun, but it tasted good so whatever. I didn't really care for the grilled onions. I could clearly tell the onions were the kind that come into the restaurant already precut, and they just heat them. I don't particularly care for veggies like that because they have this weird plastic taste to me. I went for the baked sweet potato with brown sugar, and butter. Omg was it good!!! I will go back for that again! The boy ordered a fried steak which was very good, and he had ribs as well which I tried. Texas roadhouses ribs are okay, but they just don't do it for me anymore. My tastes have evolved majorly, and there are just better options out there. I do like the catfish, burgers, and the ribeye steak is auhmazing!!!

Not impressed, food under cooked, restroom trashed. I hope this was just a bad night here.

Went twice within the last week and the service was night and day. The woman who was usually a bar tender that we had the first night was excellent. The young man that we had yesterday was all discombobulated. He wasn't new, I asked. The food was fair.

Went there for Father's Day and although it very busy our server was attentive & helpful.Checked on us and brought refills without us asking. Food was good and it was a great place to enjoy our family.. The only minus was that the servers did this sort of line dance when Foot Loose played..kind of awkward..

My wife and I recently had dinner here. The steaks were very good. The service, however, felt VERY rushed. It felt like the staff was only interested in turning our table over to the next set of customers. I know this steakhouse is known for having long wait times but I believe customers should be able to enjoy their meal once they sit down.

Went for dinner last night. We've been here before but hadn't been in awhile. Being spring break, they were packed. We were told it was a 20-30 min wait, but it maybe ended up being 15 mins at the most. One thing I really have to compliment them on is their host staff. They are all friendly and polite and really try to engage with people, even as they are walking to the table. Our server was great. Friendly and efficient. She suggested a few drinks for us. I took her up on her suggestion of the Jamaican Cowboy margarita and I'm glad I did because it was delicious. At $6- totally worth it. Dinner was good. Arrived quickly. My husbands NY strip was undercooked. He asked for it Med Rare but it was super rare. He asked them to throw it on a little longer and it was brought back promptly by a manager. Overall everything was excellent. My only real complaint is the sautéed onions- they were barely cooked at best. I should've spoke up and said something but didn't because by the time the waitress came back with my husbands steak, I was pretty much done with mine. Oh well!

Easy in, easy out, good food. We were going to see Ender's Game, and we needed a quick dinner that we could enjoy on a Friday night. We called ahead and got a reservation, which helped breeze us through the lines, and get us seated quick. My wife had the 6 ounce Sirloin, and I did the 8 ounce Fillet, and both were properly cooked, properly seasoned (didn't have to dump salt, pepper, or steak sauce on it) and tasted great. For sides, she did the house salad with ranch, and I did the Caesar. It looked like someone had dumped too much egg on her salad, and mine had some ice in it. It was okay, but I've had better Caesars. The other sides were the baked potato, which were cooked properly, and we ordered loaded, so it was easy to cut up, and eat. The service was fast and polite, which is great. We got our check, and made the movie with 10 minutes to spare. Go for it - you won't be disappointed. One minor complaint - the country western music (they have BOTH types) was playing louder than the place in Council Bluffs, which was hard to talk over.

Again never had a bad meal here! Outstanding food and outstanding service. It is very loud there though. It is hard to hear the one you're with. Just keep it in mind for when you go. It's very entertaining if you like line dancing though . The ribs are outstanding as well as the fillets

Had a great experience today with my kids. Our waitress Kyrie was absolutely amazing. Continuously checked in on us made sure our drinks were full and asked how our meals were. It's because of people like her I will be back. Keep up the good work

Perhaps it's because my Gramma absolutely loves this place (she orders the kid's meal with a sweet potato!), but I hold a special place in my heart for the Roadhouse. Overall, the food is pretty good, and I've never had a problem with service, as they're very accommodating. I always order the sirloin kabob, and it's always more than enough! My father orders the 1/2 chicken, and for 9 bucks, is more than enough to fill him up! I agree with Megan, the rolls that they bring you out to munch on are great, but I think it's because they are accompanied by Cinnamon sugar butter. Worth a shot if you're out this way, and the mall is just behind the restaurant!

Honestly the best place to come to after a long flight. My family and I headed here after my flight from CA and it hit the spot. Love the buckets of peanuts you get for free! Yes! The food is delicious and a good beer selection. Service was excellent and it was all in all a great time. Nice, relaxing environment. Although, Christmas + Country music...ugh. Wanted to rip my ears off. Oh well, most of the time I forgot due to the genius helpings of epic food in my mouth. So GENIUS.

I love their warm rolls and sweet butter with a hint of cinammon spread they give you before the meal. My hubby is a fan of the steak and i always convince him to stop for dinner when we are in the area. I do enjoy the ribs and margaritas there, yumm

Yes it's a chain and yes it's located in a mall parking lot: My sister and I were laughing at the country song playing over the radio that went something along the lines of "she left me AND stole my pickup truck". Not two minutes after I said all we need is some line dancing the wait staff started kicking up their heels in the aisles. Another time it was a young boy's birthday and they brought him over a horse saddle to sit in while getting everyone in the place to sing. That pretty much sums up the atmosphere here. The waitresses we've had have been really friendly but not in an annoying way. Timing was perfect for everything. I could see her watching to come over when it was apparent we were ready to order and not bugging us as soon as we sat down (and numerous times after) like some places do. Ditto for the timing of our dinners after the salads and the check. The food makes my tummy full and happy. Make that reeeeally full. The meal starts with a tin bucket of peanuts (brings back memories of throwing them on the floor at Ground Round in my childhood) and fluffy rolls that are served with cinnamon butter. There is a decent selection of steaks, chicken, ribs and sandwiches but I haven't gotten past the Road Kill (gotta love that name) which is chopped sirloin smothered in cheese, onions and mushrooms. I love choices and with the dinners you get to pick two sides. I always go with the mashed potatoes which gives me more choices for the topping. Of course I get them topped with cheese and bacon because I need more cheese please. All this for $8.99 plus $5.99 for a decent pretty large margarita. Good deal.

The service has always been great. The food has always been great for a chain. I have never had a bug in my food that I know of. Of course the best is the addictive buns, I think they put coke in them.

I love TRH'S!! Been to several and in different states. This is subpar :( waitress's were rude and didnt listen. Simple to jot down simple instructions right? Had a dirty Margarita glass. Steak over cooked. Salads rattlesnake bites ranch dressing all delicious. I will be back to this one here in Joliet. Kevin the manager we talked to was ok. He really didnt care about our complaints but he was nice. I wuv TRH!!

It is ok. The best thing is the butter that comes with the rolls. Staff is nice. But, they have to do that stupid dance every now and then. God forbid that anyone need service when this is happening because management makes them dance and ignore the pay guest. I saw a table next to me one time have a drink spilled. It went every where. No one to help because of the dancing. Those people just left. that was not a tip to dine and dash also. There are other places that are better in town. But, I usually go there and never pay because someone else picks up the tab. Oh, and they can not do big parties. We had a party of 12 once and had to be put into three different booths.

Delicious warm bread with sweet butter spread served as soon as you are seated. As well as peanuts. I ordered the fall of the bones ribs. They were very meaty, tender and delicious. Steak fries are good too. My husband ordered the cowboy cut sirloin with mushrooms on top. He said steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and seasoned well. Mushrooms were thick and tasty. We also ordered caesar side salads. A bit heavy on the dressing but good flavor overall. Had the brownie sundae for dessert. Not the best just ok. Wouldn't order again. Service was good. Will visit again.

I'm normally not a fan of chains, but Texas Roadhouse is awesome. The complimentary warm rolls are cinnamon are delicious. I constantly crave their cheese fries appetizer. The steaks and meals are all pretty good, and a great value for the price. Every waiter I've ever had there has been super friendly. It's pretty loud, but that's what you get at a restaurant with a bar.
