My boyfriend has been going here for years for lunch since it was down the street from his job. He LOVES it. He always gets the spicy shrimp or spicy beef and string beans. The lunch specials are huge, and you can get them all day for an extra 1.50 after 3pm. What a deal. I recently just tried this place. I fell in love too! Got the pan fried noodles with vegetables. Huge portion, tasted amazing and was piping hot!! I definitely won't go anywhere else but here from now on. Good job China kitchen. Great Chinese food and service!!

When we moved we spotted this place while we were getting familiar with the neighborhood. We love their food and variety, however we have been ordering else where for the value and more selection of different regions for food. They will be our go to Chinese when we want something close.

I have ordered carry out from here at least 10 times and they have never disappointed. The food is always hot, plentiful, and ready when they say it will be. I have even ordered custom dishes (for example, hunan chicken with all the vegetables, not just the ones it normally comes with) and they always get the order spot on. They charge an extra $1.25 to order the lunch special outside of lunch hours (which I cannot recall right now) but to me it's still well worth it, because for about $6.50 you get a very good sized entree, fried or steamed rice and an egg roll. Their egg rolls are close to the best I've ever had also. I usually end up eating half of the meal and eating the second half the next day. Eats well for left overs! Oh and the staff is always friendly! 5 stars!

I have to say I am extremely impressed with this place! Having been let down by so many Chinese restaurants in the area I wasn't expecting much. I ordered the black pepper beef with extra beef. Omfg I fell in love with this dish! It's very spicy & peppery but I enjoyed it throughly! My lips were on fire, but I enjoyed every minute! I also love the fact that China kitchen will also let you buy their lunch specials all day long! Most places cut them off by 3pm. I'm guessing with China kitchens close proximity to Joliet Junior college they're making a killing! Either way it works for me! Check this place out!! I wish this place had more of a dining room though. There is basically a two table area not far from the cash register, and most of the business is carry out. I'm not really up for people staring at me while I eat lol!

Clean, friendly staff, quick turnaround, reasonable prices and tasty, non-greasy food. There's nothing this place does poorly. It's a great place to go for lunch if you live in the area -- good portions for $5-6 and there's a pretty good variety of dishes.

Take advantage of their lunch special as you get pretty big portions for $5-6, with chicken fried rice and an eggroll on the side. Got the sesame chicken, seeing that its listed as one of their specialties. My container had a good amount of chicken with sesame sprinkled with a dark sweet/tangy sauce applied. Was also pleased with the kung pao chicken, which a lunch portion fed me the whole day. Service was also quite pleasant.

This place is down the street from my house. I have order from here often and I am never disappointed. Their specials are cheap and come with rice/noodles and an egg roll. They have online ordering which I love. I've never had a bad experience here. Tip: they only have a couple of tables and no bathroom so it's more of a carry out place - but it's great :)

I was in the area to visit the Social Security office and get the ball rolling on changing my last name (I just got married). After a nightmarish wait, I was starving for a hearty lunch. I saw that China Kitchen had good Yelp reviews, so I quickly placed an order online (I LOVE when restaurants offer that feature) and my food was ready by the time I drove from the Social Security office to the restaurant. I had the egg foo young lunch special with mixed proteins and it was delicious. The patties were nice and fluffy and not greasy at all, a fate that befalls far too many egg foo youngs. I would definitely stop by again!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
