Serve everything on paper and the steel tray, This was a great place to eat when it was Farmers. Hate the new concept

Much like their sister restaurant in Troy (Fire-N-Smoke), you order at the counter (an array of bottled beverages fill coolers lining the wall behind the register, fountain soda and tea also available) and take a seat. The line system works better at this location. The menu is a mix of Fire N Smoke and the former Outlaw Blues in O'Fallon (which I miss - I'd love to see the return of the biscuit and cornbread skillet). We had the chicken and waffles, which came with two sides. The sides really shine here, and the entree was quality as well. Under $30 with two beverages and a slice of Smores pie.

I am not sure why this place has gotten bad reviews. It is a cozy clean place. Friendly service. The restaurant was busy but we did not wait too long for our meals. We all enjoyed our food and we needed to-go boxes. The BBQ pork was tender. The beef tips with onions and mushrooms was very flavorful. The sides were good, I really liked the mac-n-cheese. We grabbed dessert to go! Do not let the bad reviews deter you from going here. We will definitely go back.

Have gotten lunch a few times. Love that they have ski in bottles or on tap. Chicken and waffles is a giant serving. They were delicious. Street Tacos were sort of bland to me. Everyone is really nice. And they have draft beer! Good place to grab a decent lunch. It's nothing to fancy.

Great Dining experience and amazing food! Gotta love the people with these over the top reviews that obviously ate somewhere else... Sorry its not a sit down restaurant, cant please them all I suppose.

The concept is definitely geared toward young folks and turnover. I was really looking forward to a family-style sit down meal, but instead experienced a glorified, upscale McDonald's. You stand in-line at a counter, look at a menu, then when its your turn, you place an order, pay for it, then shuffle yourself off to the eating area with drinks and an order number in hand. The meal was served in pot-pie tins and a metal pie plate. The Chicken Fried Steak was nasty. However, the mashed potatoes and gravy had merit. Also, note that as a rule, when you order a dinner salad, along with your main dish, it generally comes out first. Not here, everything was served at once. This was without a doubt a learning curve for me. I figured it was going to be somewhat different from the original Farmers Restaurant, but with the same quality food and atmosphere. Since neither one satisfied my hunger, I'll not be back. Thanks for the heads-up, Donnie D. with your comment on the Fire-N-Smoke in Troy. I had planned to try out that eatery, but now, I think I just saved myself a lot of time and money.

Some of the worst food EVER. They don't Bother to tell you that the hamburger comes coated with mustard. I hate mustard like Superman hates Lex Luthor and kryptonite. My mother in law's food was stone cold. My husband's fish and chips special the batter was so hard you'll break your teeth on it and it had so much salt in it that it was totally inedible he left most of it. And macaroni and cheese is way more macaroni white sauce and a little cheese flavor than anything else. My remade burger was so overcooked that it was like eating a LESS FLAVORFUL hockey puck--I'm certain that hockey pucks are more tender and have a better flavor than this pathetic cremated excuse for a burger. One bite was all I had to take to know I didn't want to ever take another one. They have reached rock bottom and begun to dig. Eat somewhere else until they hire competent kitchen help. Without a doubt the worst meal I've had in years.

Food is awesome, as always! The concept is totally fine, why people feel the need to be waited on every few minutes beats me!! If you need something let one of the employees know, there are plenty around - otherwise, order your food, sit down, and eat and enjoy a family dinner- simple as that! I will always enjoy going back!

I love BBQ.. Been to Arthur Bryant's in Kansas City, Jack's in Nashville, Tn , 4 Rivers BBQ in Winter Park Florida, Central BBQ in Memphis but the best Brisket so far comes from the Urban Farmhouse Eatery and Pie Company in Highland, Il. If you love BBQ this gem of an eatery is a must!! Great price, excellent service, fantastic food with causal atmosphere!!!

I've been here two times so far. I like the casual atmosphere of ordering at the counter. I love being able to fill my drink whenever I want a refill. The second time I went I got the chicken fried steak and it is amazing. The Mac and cheese and pecan sweet potato sides are also amazing. They also give you a roll with some delicious sweet butter. I'd recommend this restaurant's revamp.

The food is still the same flavorless farmers food with a more expensive packaging and worse service. They seem averse to the idea of salt and spices in their food making the experience bland. The fountain drinks are incredibly over priced for the 12 Oz glasses they give you and the lack of service. Serving food on paper is a bad decision for them as it just leaves evidence of the greasy mess on the tray.

I tried Urban Farmhouse again recently. I had the 2-piece friend chicken. It was as good as ever. The sides were also good. It was a ton of food for a great price. Based on this, I will go back. The customer service here is good. And I still really like the new concept.
