Freeport, you're KILLIN' me here. Mexican food is delicious. Mexican food should never be "blah." This...was blah. The chips and salsa were okay, but nothing special. I definitely didn't expect my chicken tacos to come in hard shells that looked straight out of the Ortega box. How could a Mexican restaurant not have soft corn tortillas? Anyway. My meal certainly wasn't inedible or anything, it was just...totally unimpressive. My boyfriend felt the same way about his entree (some steak thing, I don't remember what exactly). For some reason, we decided to get dessert. Although there were several options on the menu, our server told us that only the fried ice cream was available that night. Okay, fine. Except that what we were served wasn't fried ice cream. It was basically an ice cream sundae inside a sweet taco salad shell. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't fried ice cream. Seriamente, you guys? The only thing saving this place is the cute, kitschy Mexican decor, which is more decor than I've seen in most of Freeport's other restaurants. And there's plenty of long tables for accommodating large groups. I hate to give independent businesses a negative review, but this restaurant wasn't even trying. Is this really the best Freeport has to offer? I hope not.

Lets be real. Anyone that knows real Mexican food knows this is not authentic and is neither worth the price. My biggest 'thing', is that they pour the same red or green sauce on everything, they toss some meat and a tortilla, and depending how they wrap it, its what they call it; they just wrap it, fold it or twist it and they call it 'tacos' burritos' or 'flautas'. They one thing I like is their Queso Dip Appetizer. The food is definitely not worth what they charge. Mexican food should be filled with spices and herbs and cilantro and oregano and different kinds of peppers for different salsas and salsas are cooked different! Some are grilled, some are boiled some are fried... it should NOT be sooo bland!!! I think I would rather have a 'quesadilla' at Taco Bell right across the street. At least I know its Americanized Mexican food and its only $5. Not to mention they charge a ridiculous amount of percentage in Taxes. Freeport's taxes are like 7 or 7.5%. Dirty sneaky way to get more money...

Freeport doesn't offer much for locally-owned sit-down restaurants, and really doesn't have much for Mexican food, either, but I'm so glad that the one place it has is Fiesta Cancun. There's an extensive menu with a good variety, the prices are more than reasonable, and the food, simply stated, is really tasty. I've always had good service here; the staff has always kept my drinks filled and the warm tortilla chips coming. I highly recommend the cheese dip with the tortilla chips; it's by far the best dip I've ever had!

Queso Fundito appetizer arrived cold and unappetizing. Our fajitas were very bland. Cilantro was used with a very heavy hand. Neither authentic nor high quality.

I had the burrito which was awesome, and huge! I'll be back.

Had the Fajita Quesadilla for lunch and it was awesome. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the mood for Mexican in Freeport.

Best Mexican food in Freeport. I dare you to try it. One thing that's not on the menu is "hongos y cebollas" (grilled mushrooms & onions) and they're really good as an app. or just an addition to your plate. Servers are all super friendly and will go out of their way to accommodate you.

The food is bland. The chips were soggy. The salsa was from a jar with some chopped cilantro added. And seriously, blue salt on the margaritas? It looked as if somebody dipped the glass in Miracle Grow. The waiters varied between lecherous and ambivalent. And totally overpriced as well. Two stars for the cute decor. Never going back.

This place sucks . Chips out of a bag and stale . Beans out of a can . Should have walked out right there . However I ordered the smallest chimichanga I've ever seen in my life . Was the size of a taco . Was not fried and was drenched in some kind of sauce I was told was a cheese sauce . Asked waiter why it was not fried and he said it was but not very much . Said I could order something else but I would have to take chimichanga home with me even thou I only took 1 bite . 10 min later manager supposedly comes over and said next time (huh ) I should order with sauce on the side . I didn't think it would have sauce on it . I thought it would have cheese . I guess for freeport it might fly , however this was probably the WORST restaraunt I've ever been to and will never return . Should be called Fiesta Shithole !

I rated 3 stars, but my wife rated 5 stars so I averaged. My dish was so-so and was a chicken enchilada and chicken burrito. She had Pork Chile Verde and said it was fantastic. Apparently your mileage may vary!

The kids hamburger was raw, the vegetarian fajitas has pieces of meat in it, not everybody got their drinks and the enchilada sauce tasted like ketchup. Large portions but not that great of service.

Best restaurant in Freeport. From what I can tell the food is pretty authentic and it's delicious. Their service is impeccable and I've never seen food prepare as speedily as it is at Fiesta Cancun. Their prices are great and even better at lunch. They always have lunch specials and great deals on the best margaritas in town. They have an extensive menu that goes far beyond tacos, burritos and chimichangas, but it includes those also.

Excellent Mexican food, always fast and friendly service. If you like spicy I would recommend the Chili Colorado dish, very good. I personally prefer Amigo's here in Freeport over Fiesta Cancun but this is still very good authentic food. There was even a mariachi guitar player strolling around one night taking requests and he even play Twinkle twinkle little star which my son requested.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
