I'm hardly ever on this street, so I was glad to find this place. I ordered the panang curry noodles with chicken, and boy, I wish I lived around here again so I could order it every time I needed some noodles. It was creamy with a good amount of spice. The cook worried it may have been too spicy for my boyfriend and I, but it was perfect for us (may be too spicy for others). Other times I've have panang curry or red curry, it just tastes like oily cream sauce with no kick. But this one had great flavor, probably due to the ginger and pepper flakes (not sure what ingredients are in it). We also took advantage of the buy one roll get one free deal (available Tuesday to Saturday). We got the Duo and Santana, and both were really good. Curry was still the star, but the rolls very pretty darn good. Will come again for Thai food, and other Asian dishes!!

I love Siam! Unfortunately they do not deliver to the Rogers park area which is 1.5 miles away or else I would order here more. I normally get the chicken Thai fried rice and Mongolian beef. The Thai fried rice is delicious, one of my favorites. The Mongolian beef is good but you do not get enough for the price. The food is delicious but the prices are a little higher than other Thai places.

I stop here at least twice a week to pick up a honeydew bubble tea on my way to (or from) the train. I have never ordered food from here.

Ordered for delivery... Employee on phone had difficulty understanding english and my street name which is all of a few blocks away... (Know the area by your restaurant), put me on hold several times in the middle of placing my order (waste of both our time), then when i asked my total she obviously had to go enter it into computer (probably should've been doing that to begin with), then i received a call asking if i was in evanston or Chicago because my street name exist in both (in fact it does not), then when i received my order one item was maki instead of nigiri (maybe she thought NOT maki meant yes maki) and one item was completely missing from the receipt entirely even though my order was repeated to me (this is why you put orders directly into computer and repeat order from the computer screen)... Horrible... I work in a restaurant myself... Dear Manager, RETRAIN your staff....

One of my go to sushi places in Evanston! I frequent their AYCE sushi deal on Sunday and Mondays for $22.95. I love this place because they have a good variety of rolls, nigiri, appetizers, and because the portion of rice to fish is excellent! A lot of sushi places will stuff their rolls and nigiri full of rice with just a little piece of fish. This place IS NOT like that. I come about once a month for their AYCE and I can attest to the fact that they give you good quality portions. This would be my go to place every single time I craved sushi if only they had white tuna nigiri and vegetaable/shrimp tempura on their AYCE menu. Currently, they're running a Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) roll deal during the times when they don't offer AYCE. Seems like a great deal to me even though I haven't tried it yet. I've also tried their red curry lunch special and it was awesome :) Their miso soup is always on target and for some reason, I also love their crab ragoon! I've only got love to show for this place!

The food here is tasty and nicely presented. I have been here a few times and each time has left me satisfied. Try to come on a nice day as they have a patio on the sidewalk and it is fun to people watch. I would recommend the Pad See Ewe and the Crispy noodles. I have not yet gone for sushi, but they have a BYGO on sushi and maki Tuesday through Saturday.

I have been raving to friends about Paragon since hubby and I discovered it a few months ago. I've been completely obsessed with the place, until tonight....my husband ordered his favorite dish, the chicken Panang noodles and that was the beginning of the end. First they brought us the wrong dish then the dish that finally came was watery and absent of both noodles and chicken. It looked like they scraped the bottom of the pot out for us. When we complained, we had the most rude and ridiculous response from our server. Not only did he accuse my husband of lying (really?? About a $10 dish??)... he proceeded to explain in explicit and condescending detail the process they use for weighing all of the protein. He ended the rant by telling us to be more careful with our order next time, since we obviously aren't familiar with the dishes. Never have I ever been berated and harassed is such a manner by a server...when we complained about his rude behavior, he grabbed the check and said, "if you don't want to pay, then forget about it!" Rude! Rude! Rude! When we asked for the manager, he was (conveniently) not in...go figure. We threw the server a $20 bill and left as quickly as possible. The saddest part is that we love this restaurant so much...we order from here frequently and spend many date nights here...now you probably couldn't pay me to go back.

My wife & I are addicted to their green, yellow & red Thai curries. Have only done take-out. I didn't love their food a few years back, but gave them a try again... So happy we did! Each has a nice combination of veggies that go with the curry sauce.

We ordered delivery from here tonight, and the food was delicious. The gyoza was very tasty with a great sauce. Edamame was good as usual. My fiancé loved his udon, and I really enjoyed the rolls-the fish was fresh and yummy. My reason for only two stars is because of the green tea flavored bubble tea I ordered. I take my first sip and a hard, broken piece of blue plastic came up in the straw. At first I thought, "okay, it's just one little piece". But as I continued to drink it, more and more shards and pieces of plastic kept coming up in the straw, and as well were visible in the cup as the blended drink began to melt. I was pretty bummed because the flavor of the bubble tea was DELICIOUS. I mean, one of the best I've had. Unfortunately I was unable to finish the drink because there were so many pieces of plastic that I felt uncomfortable ingesting any more of it since some of the pieces of plastic were so small that I could not pick them out. Clearly something must have fallen into the blender when they made the drink, and I really just wish they had been more careful and paid more attention during preparation. I'd like to think that they did not see this before they sent the drink out to us. This has not deterred us from ordering from here in the future, but it will probably be awhile.

My favorite neighborhood comfort food. I love being able to order eggrolls, Pad Thai and sushi from one place and they're all delicious. Sushi menu and deals are great!

The food is not good. It is way too overpriced and the portions are not that great. Ordered delivery and received cold food. Would not recommend.

Cheap, but not great. Came on Saturday and had their daily lunch special. It's nice to see a restaurant with lunch specials on Saturday, and it was only $8. The food was edible. Not horrifying bad, but definitely not great. Both the Pad See Ewe and the Thai Iced Tea I got was too sweet. I won't return, but if you want a quick cheap lunch or really like sweet dishes, Siam Paragon could be a good option. For better Thai food try Thai Sookdee or Cozy Noodles.

I have a love hate relationship with this place. On the one side the sushi is always amazing, very different from everything else in the burbs, half price... but after I eat it I feel terrible every time. And I am an avid sushi eater... So I'm not sure that it's me...But truthfully the sushi is so good id rather eat half a bottle of tums after visiting this place than stop coming here..

All you can eat sushi on Sunday's and Monday's. I repeat, all you can eat sushi on Sunday's and Monday's! I was very surprised this place did not have lines leading out the door. I am usually skeptical about all you can eat sushi because I've been let down by the few all you can eat sushi restaurants here in MN. I came here with a group of 7 people and we decided on doing family style so we ordered EVERY single sushi on their menu and amazingly, EVERY sushi I had was dee-licious. However, volcanic, poison, and orange blossom were definitely my favorites. We also enjoyed their miso soups, gyozas, seaweed salad, and mochi ice-cream. Unfortunately, their desserts are not a part of the all you can eat menu. We really wanted to give all the sushi chefs a round of applause before we left but we decided on quietly snapping our fingers.

Nice decor, friendly service and reasonable prices. The sushi isn't cheap, but if you go on a night where the rolls are buy one get one free it works out much better. I haven't tried their all-you-can-eat sushi. All the food is beautifully presented. Siam has a huge menu of Asian dishes. One of my favorites is the Mongolian beef and I always request that it be served spicy. It's a great place for groups because there will be something for everyone. Siam has a spacious interior so there is plenty of room, too.

Very good food. I dined with three others, and everything we ordered was delicious. In particular, the red curry and basil curry were wonderful. I'll definitely be back.

I've been here a few times to pick up dinner (I work right next door, which is an awesome 10% discount), and I've ordered the pad see ewe with beef each time. I feel like I need to come back and actually eat it fresh, because each time I've had it it's sat in the box for between fifteen and forty-five minutes before I get to have a bite... but it is still so delicious. They're very generous with both the beef and the broccoli, and the sauce is tasty, but not overwhelming. My favorite part of pad see ewe tends to be the egg, and, while they aren't very generous with the egg, it's cooked very well. And the noodles reheat very well!

Thanks to my parents' extended trip in Taiwan, I've been deprived of delicious Asian food for several weeks. It feels like straight up culinary abandonment. This Chinese girl can only eat so much mac & cheese before going a little insane. Even a little whiff of sweet chili sauce could push me over the edge. My craving for Asian-y noodles hit its' apex during a hectic night at work, so I decided to order from here. Ordering through the Yelp app on my phone was crazy convenient, so I had high hopes.I was looking forward to my dinner of mildy spicy Pad Thai with no sprouts in a reasonable amount of time for a reasonable price. I ended up paying almost $15 (that includes tip) for sub-par Pad Thai noodles that were sadly bland. Sigh. I guess I'll go back to huffing my bottle of Sriracha sauce and emailing my parents about how much I miss them then.

Amazing, fresh sushi and a great selection of everything else. The prices are reasonable and they have sushi specials that run Tues-Sat. The only thing I didn't like is the slow service. The restaurant wasn't busy at all but I still feel like we waited for the waiter to come around for a long time. Overall, it's a great place to socialize. Will come back.

I've tried various items from the appetizers, Japanese, Thai, and Chinese parts of Siam Paragron's menu, and I've found the dishes to be good, but not great. The Chinese dishes tend to be quite sweet for a Chinese palate, but perhaps is more amenable for an American palate. The portion sizes are reasonable. The service is good, but can be slow at times. The interior is nicely decorated. There's metered street parking, but you might have to drive around the block to find an open spot.

Came here because of the yelp rating and my friend and I are glad we did. I wouldn't say service was the best but the food was good. The pad Thai was good and the sumo roll was absolutely delicious! I would come back just because of that roll! Great location cute little boutiques to browse at!

I have ordered my share of fried rice a million times. It is just what the doctor ordered. The serving is enough for two and a small child. Tonight I had the "lobster bomb". Not cheap but very good. Next time I think I'll get two.

Love this place. 4 stars *only* because I've never actually eaten at the restaurant. I'm a delivery fiend. :) The pad see eiw with beef is delicious, the chicken fried rice is delish (though heavy on the onions), and the crab rangoon is definitely one of the best I've had. The food tastes fresh, the meat is always well trimmed (gristle is the worst), and the delivery is fast. Their food is also consistently good, the portions are large, and the leftovers still taste good the next day. Definitely a solidly good place to get really good food.

I was craving Thai food and because I wanted to meet my friend half way.. we met up at Siam. This place is meh... I had the pad see ewe that was overly sweet... as was the green and yellow curry. The portions are smaller than most Thai places. Overall.. I wasn't impressed. If you're in Evanston, I'd look elsewhere.

My favorite Thai take-out joint. Although the dine-in experience is laid back, friendly and good service we prefer the pad Thai, pad see ew and chirashi from the comfort of the couch!

I don't know what happened with my take out order but as this was the first time I tried this place, I won't be back. Even though my food was hot, it must have been old because I am still sick to my stomach 24 hours late. Back to Siam Pasta from now on.

This is our neighborhood sushi spot right now. We have been coming for the Buy One Get One (BOGO) free sushi during the evening during the week. Sushi is solid, fresh, cheap & they have a wide variety on their menu-- almost too much variety as it can be overwhelming. They have regular/ plain sushi/ sashimi, and also all the fancy stuff with mayo, cream cheese, toppings, etc-- so something for everyone depending on your sushi tastes. The service is good, and they have an outdoor patio with a small/ short fence where we're able to put our dog right outside of it, yet she can still see us and sit next to us. Its one of the only solutions we've found to dine with our dog with Evanston's largely dog UN-friendly laws.

  • Mister F.

There is far better Thai food in Evanston than Paragon. The red curry noodle dish consists of not very good red curry with what appears to be super market egg noodles mixed in. Service was so-so. Go to Dozika or Siam Pasta instead when you want thai food in Evanston. The BOGO sushi special features items priced approximately 2X the usual price, therefore, not really a special. I won't go back.

Went here for dinner with a group of 8. Everything was delicious! The drinks were okay, but the proximity to my home is phenomenal. I've had decent Asian food in the city, but Siam Paragon has the best egg rolls I think I've ever had!

  • Jennifer D.

My pad thai was OK. I asked for hot sauce and only got a small portion and no one checked on me to see that I could have used more. Our service was not good. Our server gave someone else our sushi order and we had to wait even longer while he figured out what he did wrong. When he finally gave us our food, he did it so fast and didn't look back to see that we would have liked chopsticks so my bf had to get up and ask. My bf's ginger ale was awesome, but, again, we never even had a second to ask our server for a refill. The sushi was a little warm for my taste. I don't think we'll be going back even though they did have interesting sushi combos and BOGO. I'm not too pleased with my next day reaction, either.

I may be biased as this place is extremely close to my apartment but it's SO good. I order from here all the time :)

The entrees that I tried at Siam are chicken basil and pad see ewe. Everything was fine, though slightly pricier than other Thai food places in the area. However, today I ordered pad see ewe again and was surprised to find that it had been cooked in bad oil. You know bad oil when you taste and smell it: it kind of smells like crayons and makes the food feel extra greasy. That is why I think that will be my last visit. :( Any restaurant that either reuses deep-frying oil or continues to use oil after it has gone rancid in order to cut costs is just not a restaurant that I can trust. On the plus side, the Thai iced tea is good! I have only had it once though.

I came here at like 9:30 last Saturday when my friends and I were looking for a place to get a drink after an event we were at. We were going to go to the wine bar across the street, but it was packed (since it's tiny). We saw the full-bar through the window of Siam Paragon and figured it'd be worth a try. My friends had warm saki and wine, and all three of us ordered miso soup (one ordered regular, two of us got the veggies version). The soup was extremely tasty. When we walked in, several of the staff were eating at the bar (since we came in 30 minutes before closing on a Saturday night and the rest of the place was empty). They quickly greeted us though, and were very attentive (obviously), but we never felt rushed. I will definitely come back to try their lunch special. Until then, though, I can only give 3 stars since I've only tried one tiny thing on their very extensive menu.

Disgusting!!! Flavorless sushi. I ordered a waitress recommended roll (no clue) & it was COVERED in mayo. Not a few drizzles but about a half cup slopped over the sushi. I couldn't even discern the rolls under it!! It's been about 10 hours and I'm still getting sick to my stomach thinking about the taste (yes, I ate 2 pieces - after scraping the mayo off). The Thai iced tea was bitter and nasty. My hubby tried their pad kee mao - his usual & favorite Thai dish. He was unimpressed and said it ranked worst of all he's tried. Don't try it!!! Never going back!!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet, considering I eat here at least 2-3 times a month!! If you get your order to go, it's always ready on time. I usually get the avocado and asparagus maki and it's fresh and delish as usual. I've sat down a few times as well and the service is quick and polite. The thai food is superb, and they have lunch specials as well. Once I move away from Evanston, I will absolutely miss having this place as my go to sushi restaurant.

We came here for the first time last night because it was within walking distance from our new place. We were seated right away by a very nice hostess, but even though they were not very busy, we sat for quite some time waiting for them to take our order. The interior is nicely done with a funny Buddha statue on the bar and sea turtles and Koi fish mosaics on the central pillar. The only reason I know this is that our 3-year old son kept pointing them out to us. We started with the edamame and crab rangoon. They brought my son his portions on a Mickey Mouse plate, which was a hit with him. The edamame was steamed perfectly, but could have used some salt or soy (which we were not offered but had to get up and ask for). We ordered Pad See Yew with chicken and it was really delicious. I find that every Thai place tends to make this dish a bit differently but Siam-Paragon's was definitely one of the better ones I've had in recent memory. The reason this place did not quite make it to 4-stars is that the service was very slow and uneven. They brought out our entree orders at different times and every time we needed something else (refills, soy, straw), we had to actually get up and go ask them for it. I was also slightly disappointed in their somewhat limited beer and wine selection. All in all, they make really good food that we'll surely order again; however, we'll probably opt for take-out instead.

I just don't understand all the good reviews... Maybe I just got it on a bad night... but everything we got was pretty lackluster. Delivery took 15 minutes longer than was estimated, crab rangoon was cold (and was 90% rangoon, 10% crab), the shrimp tempura roll was alarmingly small (I uploaded a photo), certainly not worth $7. We also got beef pad thai and seaweed salad. Both were good portions and edible, but very VERY bland. The beef was very chewy... very odd texture...

  • Sara P.

Got pick up from here on a Saturday afternoon. Crab Rangoon was good, pad see eww was great get it with beef! I got some kind of roll which was way smaller than I thought it would be and the appetizer platter was good too, but don't eat those noodles.....overall good but not great

  • Andrew S.

Disappointing! This was by far the closest thai place to my house last year so i thought itd become a go to as they are all so similar around here, oops. The staff here was unfriendly, and begrudged me silverware for takeout even upon request! The fare is subpar and greasier than most. The sheer number of menu options means that none can be too fresh or expertly prepared. If you have your heart set on this place go for the imperial fried rice.

    (2)
  • Andrew Y.

Excellent Thai food. Our go to place in Evanston. The Pad Thai, Pad See Ewe, curries, and fried rice are all very good. DO NOT get the Chinese food. Chinese food is as bad as the Thai food is good.

  • Andrea C.

Again Love the all you can eat sushi buffet! I can't do the kind of damage that I saw at one table with 3 burly guysor the group of 8 that came in as we were finishing up but its a good time. And what's suprising to me is they have a really good bar with an excellent selection of Japanese beers, sake and other mixed drinks. U can't sit at bar but its nice to have choices with your meal. There are about 20 different maki choices and about 15 or so sashimi choices. That's all in addition to the Thai, Chinese and Japanese choices from the main menu. If you have friends who like sushi this is a good time any night but especially on Sunday and Monday for the all you can eat sushi

Got take out- delivery was quicker than expected which is always nice. I ordered a couple different rolls of sushi that I really liked. My boyfriend had the sesame chicken- it was average. Definitely will order from here again.

My husband and I went to this restaurant a week ago due to all the positive Yelp comments on their all-you-can-eat sushi on Sunday and Monday. Their sushi and rolls were delicious and elegantly plated. Food was quite yummy. There was one negative...service was lacking. We got to the restaurant around 3pm on Sunday so the restaurant was pretty empty with only two other tables finishing up their lunch. It seems at the same time, there was a shift change between staff. When we walked in, no one was there to seat us so we stood at the door for a little before someone came to sit us. Then we were forgotten. No one came to greet us or got us water or took our order until my husband waved a waitress down 15 minutes later. Hope they pay a little more attention to service. I am giving 4 stars for the scrumptious all-you-can-eat sushi. It is truly a great value.

  • Susan Y.

The service was absolutely horrible the one time I came here, so I'll never be going back. The waitress and chef refused to accommodate my friend's allergy to fish. We asked them to simply wash the knife before making her vegetarian rolls, and they said they couldn't do that. After we simply ordered something else, the waitress proceeded to ignore us and brought out our food after a long wait. The sushi was cheap, and not much more can be said about it. She was just extremely slow and rude, and even blatantly walked away from us as we approached her with our check and credit card. Such a miserable experience.

  • Rachel B.

Ordered delivery and it was okay, nothing special. Got volcano maki, white dragon, and dynamite. Sushi wasn't bad at all, just wasnt great and seemed like something was missing. I would maybe go back for all you can eat sushi to try different varieties, but if I don't make it I won't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

I was really happy with Siam - Paragon! We went on a Saturday night and had a great meal. I like the menu and how many options they have. Great place to go for Asian when you are undecided between Chinese, Thai, or Japanese! The sushi roll was awesome. I'll definitely order more sushi next time! My boyfriend had a Chinese entree he loved and I went for Japanese. I didn't love the terriyaki but the quality of the food was great. The veggies in both of our dishes were my favorite part. Not just broccoli and bamboo shoots like some places, both of our dishes were full of at least 6 different veggies, YUM! A little slow with service but they were super sweet and meant well... they just didn't move too fast. Nothing to stop me from going back, though! Will definitely visit again and order take out!

I went here with a friend after he recommended it. An hour and a half after leaving I walked away with one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a few years. I'm generally very understanding when it comes to wait staff because it's not an easy job. If I get an explanation or an apology of some sort I usually let things go. We arrived around 620-630 and placed our orders fairly quickly with appatizers and drink followed by Pad Se Iew and Kung Poa Chicken. After we received our apatizers the place started to fill up. Some time started to pass by and the waitress said thank you for waiting the food is coming out soon. 20 minutes later the same waitress came out and said the same exact thing again. Then I started to see people receive food at their tables who had come in maybe 10-15 minutes after we had placed our order. Finally my friend seeing that I was agitated went and asked where the food was since we had to be somewhere at 8. Finally the food arrives at 715. Ok all was forgiven sure it took a while but the food looks good. I go for a bite of brocolli...it's as cold as a penguins dick. Now I'm pissed my friends dish looks like it's steaming and I've got a cold dish. Since the waitress seemed to not want to come to our table I had to get her and explain that the food is cold. No apology...she grabs the food and states that she can bring me out a new dish in 5 minutes. 5 MINUTES!...why did it take 50 minutes the first time and you can now suddenly make me a new one in 5 minutes. I was irrate so I told her to wrap it up. While I was teling her to wrap it up my friend went to a guy who works there that he knows. He was embarrased and he wanted them to make the 5 minute dish instead. There was miscommunication so she brings me my cold dish wrapped. Other guy then comes a minute later with another bag and says "Here is your new warm dish." Ok I'm thinking here that they're giving me an extra free dish because of the issue. ...WRONG...he sees the extra bag and immediaty walks away with his bag to the back. Doesn't return. The waitress at this point avoids our table and we finally have to go up to the counter to request the check. Finally brings it at 7:45...I figured after such a crappy experience she would have apologized with some sincerety or done something along the lines of comping a drink or the dish....NOTHING...I've never in my life left someone a $0 tip until now. FOR SHAME!

According to Yelp, this is the only Thai place in Evanston that I haven't tried. (Or rather, it was.) I didn't plan it that way; it just sort of happened over the years. But once I found out, I felt compelled to complete the set. There are a few substandard joints to be avoided, and some solid options, but no true standouts. How does Siam Paragon measure up? Let's put it in the pleasantly-reliable-but-not-quite-great category with Cozy and Thai Sookdee. Friday-night takeout: On a cold night at the end of a tough work-week I craved comfort and delight. Boom--the tom kha gai soup was one of the most flavorful bowls of anything that I've ever tasted. I had never tried this dish before, but it's become an instant favorite. This zesty marvel would have been plenty to serve as a whole meal in a more sensible mood at a different time of the week. Sadly, the tofu pad thai was utterly bland. The noodles and other individual ingredients were very good, but the whole thing was colorless and seemed to lack any sauce whatsoever. If not for the amazing soup, I would have written them off, but they have an enticingly cool dining room and I found myself visiting again less than two weeks later. After a standard seaweed salad, I tucked into my other go-to Thai dish--spicy basil. I am pleased to report that their version is in the 90th percentile. I snared a few bites of the plain ol' "mixed veggies" entree and even that was wholesomely delicious. So...as long as you avoid the pad thai you apparently cannot go wrong here. They have sushi as well, but why opt for boring maki when you can shove your face into a bowl of that amazing tom kha gai?

My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out on a Sunday night. We both ordered Thai dishes and liked our food very much. He summarized it as "Good strong portions. So good in fact, I now speak Thai". There you go!

Have ordered delivery from this place two or three times, and I'm never disappointed. The curries are fresh and flavorful, and the noodles are always perfect. I will be back, probably way too often.

My sister and I have dined here at least 12-15 times before. The lunch items and lunch sushi selections are very cheap and delicious. The staff is very friendly and that's why we keep coming back. However, if you ever want to order something to-go - DO NOT!!! We have ordered lunch to-go on 3 different occasions and every single time they were missing something: utensils, condiments, sauces, etc... They did issue us some certificates for us to come back and we did. We have never had any issues when we dine in. Will we be back? - Yes! Will we ever order to-go? - No!!!!

Came here with my mom and dad for dinner, and it was delicious! The seaweed salad was tasty and fresh. My mom got the Tuna Lover-it was awesome! Our waitress recommended the red curry, which was was sooo good. I will definitely come back here again!

Very terrific Asian food; however, their sushi rolls have been getting skinnier. Perhaps their fish have gone on a diet.

This place is really good. Their Sunday and Monday sushi special $22 for all you can eat rolls and sushi. Not heavy on the rice at all and the fish is fresh and good. I had the Orange Blossum roll that was delicious! Our waitress was great. I have had their yellow curry and that was tasty too! Can't wait to go back

I was somewhat skeptical to find a good Asian restaurant especially in Evanston. I was proven wrong. This is actually a pretty decent restaurant with good service. I had the lunch special today. It comes with miso soup, an appetizer of your choice, and a main dish. I chose to stick with the Thai dishes since the restaurant is clearly a Thai with Thai workers. I find it an odd combination that they serve both Sushi (Japanese) and Thai food here. However, good Asian food is probably scarce in this part of town. I would be curious as to how the sushi is here. I was very delighted with the service here. I rode my bike to here so I was very parched. The waitress made sure I was well hydrated with water. Also, a word of advice. With the appetizer, they seem to lump it into the main entree. I got the egg roll appetizer and the liquid from my main entree (beef and broccoli) made the egg roll soggy so they should separate the appetizer from the main entree so it doesn't contaminate each other.

This had to be the nastiest pan Asian food I have ever seen or eaten (the salad dressing and crab ragoon looked too nasty to even try). The texture of the beef in the beef broccoli was rubbery, the miso soup was luke warm and the tofu in it cold and flavorless. Thank goodness the white rice and the broccoli were okay or I would have gone hungry. Service pretty bad too even though there were only two tables occupied.

I would go here again. This is another asian restraunt that combines asian foods. Thai japanese and korea. Not a fan of korean food. There is only a small selection of thai food here.

Great (and quick!) service. Food was fresh, and delicious. I had the green curry with chicken, and my boyfriend had the Hawaiian fried rice with vegetables. Everything was perfect, I can't wait to return.

$24 for the best all you can eat sushi around (Sunday & Monday only). If you like sushi and you like to eat a lot of it, check it out!

Any place that advertises itself as pan-Asian is usually also telling me before I ever walk in that it does not do anything very well. And unfortunately, this happens to be the case here. Don't get me wrong, the food isn't bad, but it's also not good. The several Thai dishes I've taken away were okay, borderline bland, but at least not greasy. The Chinese stir fries were just like the Thai ones, except with different veggies. The udon noodle soup was too sweet and sugary. And after all that there's no way I'm touching the sushi. It's never a good sign to set conditions for a restaurant, but if you're in a pinch and don't mind settling, then you could do worse.

I had such a pleasant time at Siam Paragon that I ran back to my office to Yelp about it, and that was only because I couldn't figure out how to on the Yelp app that I downloaded on my cellphone. I had Chicken Pad Thai - pretty standard - lunch special. For $7 you get an entree, miso soup, salad and choice of appetizer - I had edamame but they also have spring rolls crab rangoon and something else. Let me comment on the miso soup because out of all the miso soups I've ever had, Siam Paragon's had the MOST amount of tofu and seaweed. I was very happy since I love both. You can't really get the broth wrong but that too was tasty. Salad, edamame and pad thai we're all very good but not eye-popping amazing. But for $7.70 TOTAL for 4 different foods they certainly get an extra star for the value. Yesterday I ordered delivery for pad thai from some other more reputable place a mile away and it cost me $11 ($7 pad thai only+$2 delivery charge+ $2 tip). p.s. They also have sushi lunch specials starting from $7-13 with an increasing amount of sushi the more you spend. That special also comes with miso soup and salad I believe.

They never disappoint! I placed a big carryout order and everything was great. The sesame chicken wasn't too greasy or sweet like other places. I also dig their teriyaki sea bass. My brother-in-law had the super spicy red curry chicken and he said he this is one of the best curries he has tried. He said it was very flavorful and made just the way he likes it. My sister had the chicken pad thai- she said it had the perfect amount of chicken, carrots, bean sprouts, peanuts, and noodles. I highly recommend their sunset salmon rolls. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. It's my go to place whenever I'm in the mood for Chinese, Japanese, and Thai.

Classy and exotic decor, pleasant service, okay Thai/pseudo-Japanese food...but something's missing. I'm not so fond of these fusion-type restaurants where the menu is simply a combination of different cuisines. Simply put...if I wanted Thai food, I'd go to Noodle Garden located few blocks down the street. If I wanted Japanese food, I would go to Kuni's, which is right next door. We weren't especially impressed with the food. The miso soup (which sinfully came with a spoon) was too salty, so I added some water and it miraculously turned out good. (Um..don't try this if you'd prefer your soup hot.) The chirashi was visually delightful and delicious, but it wasn't the real thing. I'd definitely choose Renga Tei's chirashi over this. The rolls are topped with either unagi sauce or wasabi mayo...and both don't do it for me. Chicken satay was decent (though a little pricy for four small pieces), so was stir-fry cashew chicken. Given that it's seemingly run by Thai folks (the staff were speaking in Thai), it's probably wiser to stick to pad thai and coconut curries, not soba and makis. In sum, a good "first date" spot.

Not sure how I feel about this place. First off, I don't understand what the deal is with restaurants that serve a combination of cuisines: i.e. thai + sushi, italian + sushi, steak + sushi. I mean, thai + sushi? The two countries are not even next to each other! In short, I'm iffy about this place. I went here for lunch and ordered the chicken teriyaki special. It came with salad, miso soup and a choice of salmon/tuna maki. I didn't like the teriyaki because it's just cut up meat with some teriyaki sauce. I'm used to teriyaki that's grilled chicken doused with sweet + salty teriyaki sauce - not it. The salad was also wimpy and the dressing was like water. The tuna maki wasn't anything to brag about - I could barely taste the fish. On the other hand, their red curry was decent. I'd go here again since it's so close to me, but I've learned my lesson and will only order Thai food from now on. My friend also said that their phad thai was acceptable.

Normally I enjoy Siam Paragon for their outdoor seating, their lunch menu and their sushi, but this visit was different. We sat outside which was nice, and the inside appeared a half full. The sushi was good, we had a California roll, big whoop. The downer was our entrees. She had the Mongolian Beef and I had the Sesame Chicken; which we've both had from there before. But the quality was bupkis. The Mongolian Beef was swimming in oil and was otherwise flavorless. What gets me is that my GF asked for it to be spicy when she placed the order and the waitress said OK and wrote it down. My Sesame chicken was flavorless too. Usually it's dripping with sauce, and some what sweet. This time the sauce was somewhat sparse, and no flavor. To their credit when we voiced our distaste, the waitress did offer us some items for take home, but we abstained. And they did not charge us for the Mongolian Beef. I give them kudos for their service recovery, but the failed dining experience was disconcerting. On an average day I'd give them a 4 if only because they're consistent, but this evening they were lucky to be get a 3. Hit or miss I suppose. They're located on a lovely street, in a quiet clean neighborhood and frequented by locals.

Yummy! This was the first time I went to Siam Paragon. I am usually scared about all you can eat sushi because they tend to be huge rolls with too much rice and then you can only try a couple of rolls b/c you're already full. This place is different. The rolls are the right size so you can try more than just 2 rolls. The sushi is fresh and they make them quickly. Very tasty! Thumbs up! I'll be back to try the Thai food on the menu.

I went here with two of my girl friends yesterday and really liked it, never been there before. I really liked the size of the restaurant it's very quaint but not too small and the interior design is nice. Good place to sit down and enjoy your food but also has a nice atmosphere versus a typical bustling buffet restaurant. Their sushi was amazing, ordered several rolls and split them among our table. Ordered their soup and sea weed salad too, so delicious! I also ordered a drink, Bloody Mary :) And not only did it taste soo good but the preparation was amazing...the tip of the straw was made into a rose added a nice touch I was not expecting. They have a nice bar set up right when you walk in... Now I have to come back on a Sunday/Monday night, they advertised a buffet special for only $19.99! Highly recommend going on a date here or dinner with a good group of friends. Thanks again!

Addictive food. Love their Thai Fried Rice and Kung Pao Chicken. My husband always gets their sushi and we both leave happy. Fantastic staff - super nice and efficient. Really affordable lunch prices before 3pm. All around a good place to eat.

After accidentally wandering into downtown Evanston after a day en la ciudad me and mi amiga caught the hunger bug and ended up on a mission to find something tasty to snack on. Our mission ended up being quite successful as I insisted we step on into SIAM - Paragon. Chic decor, cozy and sexy, I was also impressed they were playing John Legend's second album. ANY restaurant that showcases music that'll get my date's panties wet gets love from this guy. In a snacking mood I started with the Tom Yum Goong, a fantastic, spice infused soup (and a classic Tony Jaa film if you're into action movies) that refused to disappoint. They're quite liberal with their tofu as well! On to the tuna lettuce cups... Ohhh sooo FRESH! This dish "goes hard" as the homies would say and I cannot emphasize enough how fresh the fish was. Fire! Main dish? Pad Thai. It was good. Not the greatest, but definitely quality and "Yum" like Tom Goong. (Sounds like a Lil' Wayne punchline, no?) I'm going to try the all you can eat sushi next time. The service was good and our waitress was attentive but didn't get in the way of me slow dancing like a dunce every time a standout track from Legend's album came on the speakers. What a creep.

Missed our connecting Metra train after the Cubs game on Easter Sunday and had a two hour layover. The only open place we could find and they got us right in and got drinks on the table and took our orders. All you can eat sushi, walnut shrimp with brocolli (huge shrimp), sesame chicken with hot and sour soup all came out really good and hit the spot. The waitress checked on us regularly and kept the sushi flowing along with drink refills. We were pleasantly surprised with our luck at having such a good Easter dinner after missing our train and with an imminent rain storm approaching fast. If you like a varied menu with Chinese, Thai and Japanese food this is the place!

I'm not usually a fan of restaurants that serve cuisines from multiple cultures (in this case Thai, Japanese, Chinese and Korean) but Siam Paragon does a fairly good job with it. What is good is that you can get a well-priced lunch (miso soup, salad, appetizer, entree) for $7 and your dining companions can order a la carte from the sushi or dinner menu. It would be a good choice for a group as there is most likely something for everyone. I had the lunch special with red curry chicken and crab rangoons, and it was a generous portion and well made, not too spicy but with good flavor. The service is very nice, although a bit uneven in terms of timing, and it appears that they have a lot of regulars, which is a good sign.

The sushi has come a long way! I ate there a few years ago and was underwhelmed, but just had a maki combo there last night for dinner, which is 3 rolls of your choice + miso soup + seaweed salad for about $14. Great deal and the sushi was such a surprise: delicious, fresh, and generous. I will come here again!

I haven't tried all the sushi restaurants in Evanston, but I definitely found a keeper in Siam Paragon. I recently tried their Poison Maki and thought that was really good. Of course the Dragon Maki and Philly Maki are good too. If you are trying to look up their rolls on their website, select "Japanese" at the top and then "Makimono" near the right side in the middle. (It's not an obvious link in my opinion.) There is a good list of rolls. Their fish is delicious and fresh - and that's the most important thing in my book!

Check! for another great Thai find in Chicago. Excellent lunch menu for $7.95. I had a delicious lunch with a friend today where I had miso soup, 2 crab rangoons, a salad with Asian dressing, rice and basil tofu. The flavors were great, the service was good and the amount was just right. Sometimes Thai can go really wrong and when it's done well it's memorable. And this was a memorable meal. It wasn't a regular time to have lunch so we had a lot of privacy and space near the window so we could chat for a while. The parking there was also not an issue...there are some spots that are free 2 hour parking on a street parallel to Main and my friend found parking for 10 cents an hour is unheard of...I wonder if she read it wrong? Anyway we didn't complain. The restaurant is right down the street from Ten Thousand Villages which is great appeal, and don't forget the Fair Trade Coffee shop across the street.

Pretty solid "Chinese" and "Thai." Crab rangoon, beef and broccoli, chicken fried rice, duck curry and pad see ew are all consistently good and in our regular take-out rotation. We had to give up on short ribs - they're always bad, as is the sushi. The dining room is nicer and quieter than most in Evanston, and the staff are all very nice.
