It's an odd little hotel, in a good way. The staff was helpful. The hotel is well worth the money. We slept well, ate dinner there at the bar, and had an inexpensive breakfast. It's not the Ritz but when your on a budget it is cost effective and easy. They also have two pools. Kind of cool. One in door and the other out door.

I should have read the other reviews before booking this dump. Stayed here years ago and didnt realize how much it had gone to crap. Outdated is one thing but the people are rude and it is dirty. We stayed here two nights and moved to the hotel next door, Ameritel for the same price. Newer and very nice and friendly. Do yourself a favor and forget about Red Lion and stay at Ameritel.

Old and dingy and not well lit. Layout is awful to try to find your way around. Never did find an elevator anywhere so had to lug my suitcase up and down steps. Wifi was "being repaired" and said to be spotty. I wonder if they just keep that sign up all the time because it's so crappy. I prefer to stay at the Hilton when I'm in town but was booked here for a conference.

We used Priceline to get a room when stopping in Pocatello on the way to Yellowstone. We bid on only 3 star hotels and got this. It is not a 3 star and shouldn't be advertised or classified as such. Maybe a 1 1/2 star. It was clean which was important. There were however no elevators, wifi did not work, a lot of the TV channels were not "working" and the thermostat did not work. We had it set at 65 and it was not 65. Funny thing was when we were looking at the basic Priceline listings, it read one room left! Bull! It was like a ghost town in there. Lots if empty rooms. You could tell, because they left the empty room's doors open. The hotel was VERY old and outdated. All the sites have this as a 3 star, so obviously the hotel lies by telling them that they are. We already complained to Priceline. False advertising!

Dirty, old, carpets are sticky and in 3 days were not vacumed. Pool is ice cold and the pool towels are a joke. Very dark place. Dont stay here there are better places for the money.

Very nice rooms, ac, clean, nice tvs.. However the wifi sucks, (if you have tmobile you dont have service here so wifi was important to me) also no refrigerators or microwaves in the room.. Motel 6 has microwaves and refrigerators but no ac... I prefer ac over those things but it would be nice since im paying quite a bit more per night than motel 6

Red lion advertised that it has "wifi". If by have, they mean the lobby and not your room. Then this is your place. But if you're interested in using it in the room, keep looking.

Pleasantly surprised how much we enjoyed our visit. We don't stay at Red Lions very often and the only reason we chose this one is they offer 15% off if you join their rewards program (which is free) and that made their rate the cheapest among their competitors. After driving a big UHaul all day we were thrilled when we found out there is a restaurant (more of a lounge but with a good menu) on site. It was so nice to be able to have a cocktail and a good meal without having to drive that truck anywhere else for the night. Service was a bit slow but friendly enough. The hotel was very quiet. Almost in a creepy way but that's just me. I think I only say 2 other guests the entire time we were there and they seem to run on a skeleton crew. All in all I would definitely stay here again and recommend this place for those looking to stay a night or two in Pocatello.

I didn't even get to stay here, but let me explain my rating. Unexpectedly, my Labrador fell ill and doesn't have much time left, they cancelled my reservation without penalty. Thank you for understanding that I didn't want to leave my dog in what could be his last days!

Staff here is always friendly and the rooms are always clean. We stay here a few times a year when we travel to Idaho. We also use this as our base camp when we're traveling to Yellowstone even know there is closer hotels we always feel at home here.

I have been traveling across the country for the past month, and this is by far the most disappointing customer service I have encountered from any hotel, restaurant, coffee shop, store, etc. Every staff member I have come across has been outright rude to myself and my mother. Even as we checked in, the woman working the front desk refused to make eye contact, she acted as if we were annoying her and any question we had was an outright nuisance. She was curt explaining the hotel information and not once did she say hello, welcome us or exchange anything pleasant. She told us breakfast started at 6am, to our surprise we got downstairs in the morning and the dining hall was closed. We looked around to see if there was a different entrance, while the young lady at the front desk watched us and said nothing. We approached her and asked and she finally, very curtly, told us it didn't open until 7am. And immediately went back to chit chatting with another coworker. It wasn't until a few minutes later after we sat down and waited for the restaurant to open that my mother noticed a coffee canister near the entrance. Wouldn't it have been nice that after we told the front desk receptionist that we were given wrong info, if she could've pointed out that there was coffee while we waited? No, instead she talked about us to other coworkers, was eating in front of us and occasionally gave me a dirty look. Twenty minutes went by and the dining hall opened. None of the three employees that knew we were waiting said anything about how it was ready and we could go in, so we wandered in and looked around for someone that worked there. After a minute or so a woman came out of the back but refused to acknowledge us. I politely asked her what the correct procedure was on the breakfast and she barked back: what's your room number? Then turned around and walked away. She came back a minute later and angrily told us our room doesn't include breakfast, but we gently explained we knew and would like to purchase it. It was odd that she seemed so annoyed that we wanted to patronize their breakfast buffet, which ended up being $11 each and very disappointing. During the breakfast I heard her chastise another customer who also did not know the protocol, and the Woman replied, "well I don't know how things are done here!" There are more instances of this type of behavior but I think I've established a clear pattern. The hotel was very clean, and although the decor was outdated, everything was well maintained and could've been quite charming if the staff didn't act as though guests were beneath them ( with the exception of one gentlemen that checked us out).

One star is one too many - I made reservations and when I got there it didn't exist. I still tried to get a room, and they quoted me higher than what was previously agreed upon. The staff was condescending, disrespectful, and overall rude. This is an old "establishment" that they tried to spruce up, and as they say "You can't polish a turd." I went to the AmeriTell around the corner and found nice staff, nice room, and nice price.

Pretty decent place to stay, there was an indoor pool and a small gym inside. The gym consisted of a treadmill, elliptical, and bike. The pool made the indoor seating smell a like chlorine, though. The breakfast was cheap: $4.95 a person for buffet. Free complimentary wifi!

The selection of hotels in Pocatello isn't exactly like trying to pick between the Hyatt Regency and the Hilton Grand, so if you find yourself in the area and you want a nice, clean, and moderatly upper scale spot - this is your only choice. (I heard some bad things about the Clarion across the street, mainly that it was creepy. Gee, a creepy budget hotel next to the expressway...that's odd.) The rooms are large and the beds are extremely comfortable. Give you both hard and soft pillows, if you travel a lot you know how clutch that is. Breakfast is a good deal for $5, hot and continental breakfast items served. Front desk staff is nice.

This is the only hotel I've been to in the area that charges for breakfast, but at $4.50 it has the best selection available. The rooms are large, but the water pressure is severely lacking. Of our three rooms, no two were alike. One of the refrigerators leaked and looked like it was stolen from a 1990's gas station; another was high end and meticulously cared for. The pool is by far the best in the area--large, in-door, and in a giant atrium. Unfortunately, it is plagued by kids until 10pm, the same time that it closes. The free wi-fi is second only to the Comfort Inn here in town, but that hotel is nowhere near as comfortable or clean.

We stayed here a week ago on our way south, and absolutely loved it.. Gorgeous hotel that allows dogs, and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in while at a hotel... We didn't make it in time for the pool to be open though, closes at 10 pm.. So on our way back north, we wouldn't stay anywhere else :) first time was on the upper floor, this time on the ground floor... Same room, same comfy bed. Was able to go to the pool this time and it was very delightful! Hot tub wasn't as hot as it couldve been, but it was still amazing since its snowing outside. I will stay here every time i pass through. No doubt. Best hotel experience I've had. :)

This is apparently the most expensive hotel in Pocatello. It has nice convention rooms. Soft soft beds. Decent space and clean bathrooms. OK wireless...but not in the rooms. Bah I stayed in worse places for debate tournaments. I really don't have much to say about this place. It did what it needed to do while being classier than holiday inn.

Decent hotel. Okay sized rooms. Big and comfy beds. Great bathroom. Conference rooms are big, but look a little old. Indoor pool. Pretty nice hotel. But I guess I was expecting more from the hotel that was hosting a national debate tournament. Oh, their single ATM machine ran out of cash when we were there.

The worse hotel I have ever stayed at on business was the Hyatt Rickey's in Palo Alto, CA. However, the Red Lion Hotel in Pocatello was not to far behind. In fact my co-worker who came up from Provo, UT wanted to check out. I opted for staying put since the lodging selection in Pocatello was rather limited. I might have been willing to let things like dirty hall ways and outdated rooms go but the Red Lion Inn was the most expensive hotel in Pocatello (which is how I originally selected it). The last time I stayed there was over 2 years ago so it could have been made over since then. My co-worker went back to Pocatello for a second week and stayed at another hotel. He said that it was much better. Just goes to show that you cannot chose a hotel on price alone.

Very much a convention hotel. They had a rodeo special when I visited (room & rodeo ticket!). The hotel shares a parking lot with a gas station, which is convenient I suppose. Lobby is surprisingly impressive. Not so much the size of it, but the nice seating and architecture. There's also a huge indoor pool towards the back which was surrounded by booths of art and such while I was there. I guess I caught some convention or something.

Seemed pretty solid to me, nice mattresses and good pillows which is key. Friendly staff and easy to get to the freeway and middle of town... Has the nicest indoor pool of the hotels in town I have stayed in.
