This was one of the worst mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at. The place was dirty, the staff was rude, and the food was disgusting. The cream cheese chicken enchiladas tasted of and had the texture of catfood. The chips did not come out warm, and the salsa must have come from a jar.

This food is not very authentic. The nachos on flour chips are good as well as the salsa. Everything else tastes like you opened a can and made it in your kitchen. It looks like a cheap bar inside.

This is a standard-issue Mexican food served by people who are not Mexican restaurant... You get the idea. You can get some pretty good food but it's a long, long, shot away from being authentic Mexican. It's not terrible, but I've experienced better....

It had been 15 years since I had been to Mama Inez and it was just as good as I remember it. It has been one of my favorites since I was a kid and would wait in the cold to get in when it was across from Pocatello high in the hole in the wall. The tastes brought back many great memories

I enjoy shredded beef Gordos. Food is always hot, service is usually fast. My husband always orders the Chili Colorado Burrito, meat is tender and flavorful.

far from Mexican food. I'm from Houston Texas and if u want to spend ur money on tasteless food then by all means this is ur spot. 9 bucks for a side enchilada was ridiculous. If u want better Mexican food go to Taco Bell.

Sent here by an airport employee and strong review in a local internet article but was greatly disappointed. First chased off the patio by smokers, then a watery margarita, followed by a carnita dish with tough meat and a side of salsa that just couldn't help the chips or meal.

Moved to Utah a couple of years ago. Really miss this place . Can't find anything like it Salt Lake. Stopped in for old times sake. Had the usual Chili Colorado for and the wife had he favorite Cream cheese and crab. The food is justified as fantastic as I remember. The black beans are new since I was last here, best I ever had.

The black beans are amazing. I had a small chile relleno and it was more than enough. Loved the green sauce and the staff. Put all this together with a couple of Dos Exis and you have a lovely cheap solid meal.

Kendra knows how to rock the Rita's. I can't believe I have waited so long to detail my love for Mama's...I have lost count as to the number of baskets of chips or Margs or crab n cream cheese enchiladas I have consumed here...suffice it to say, I "run" to eat at Mama's. I would give it a 5 star review for friends and great times here...gonna drop it a star because although good, the food is not 5 star stuff. 3 star food, great friends and awesome service keep me coming back for more. Typically, I stick to a couple of items on the menu because I am a creature of habit but over the years I have tried nearly all of it...the one thing I really steer clear of is the vegetarian burrito...it's just not right...hehe. Oh yah, prime rib night? just say no to that too... We always gravitate to the back where the "girls" are sure to make me feel right at home and cater to my every need whether alone or with a crowd! Which is what makes this one of our favorite go-to spots when we don't want to try and decide what or where or when to eat.

Margaritas were good that's why they earn the two stars, food was bland, salsa was Bland, chips were old. Quesadillas were made with pulled pork rather than care Assada. Not best mexican food we have had.

Really like this place staff has always been friendly and a good time. Food is good espically the shredded beef gordos. The bar has everything you can think of including moster size mexican beers. Usually go 2-4 times a month and it never gets old. Also the Jimi changa is great.

The enchiladas are really good. Everyone in town was talking about them, I understand why. It is sort of a blend of sour cream, cream cheese and crab. Decent bar area, decent salsa and chips.

Worst Mexican food I ever have eaten. You are better off eating in a taco truck or making your on food even if you can't cook. Canned food taste better and the food on the plate looks like the just toss it in. The only reason to go there is cause they have a pretty good bar.

Mama Inez was a wonderful find in Pocatello. Last Wed I drove through Pocatello trying to find the perfect place for the perfect margarita. Mama Inez's had a full parking lot at 5pm on a Wed (unlike the empty two other places I'd just rejected). The outside was inviting and there were folks of all ages entering the place. My goal was the ultimate margarita so I bellied up to the bar and chatted with the woman pouring there. She was delightful and made me an absolutely wonderful margarita, exactly as I asked for (shaken not stirred!). I also had the vegetable enchilada which exceeded my expectations. Prices were great as well.

In a town that has some pretty good Mexican food, this place is bottom-half at best. I've eaten here 5-10 times, and I don't really understand the rave reviews. The tortilla chips appear to be from a bag, the dishes are much too heavy on cheese, and the rice and beans are bland. Their "to-go" branch in Chubbuck is better, but I'd still take Taqueria La Costa over Mama Inez any day.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
