I really only like one dish here: Singapore noodles. It is not on the take out menu but I always take it home to eat. Full of curry flavor with a few veggies, chicken and rice noodles. Hits the spot when I'm having a noodle craving. Atmosphere is blah and needs a good cleaning and update. Service is slow - take out or eat in. This is not a quick stop.

Wonton soup hit the spot for my head cold. Loved the chow mien and rice. Kids were not too impressed with the eggs rolls. By far the best place around me.

This place has been in Eagle for quite a while now. Surprising to me as I hardly see anyone here. For the half dozen times I've been here in the last five or so years, I can only remember there being one or two other parties eating while we were there. As for the food, it has been different each time. I usually stick with the mandarin chicken. One time it was very good, the next time it was garbage - nothing but grease and no meat, only fat, gristle and who knows what else. Totally hit and miss. The egg flower soup has been good every time, though, as well as the fried rice. I don't think I will be going back. The service is almost non-existent and the inside is dated and in need of a pressure washer. This would be a Restaurant Impossible candidate, but I think Robert Irvine would end up walking out. If I'm in need of Chinese, I'll drive 5 minutes into Garden City and visit Jade's or Panda. Sorry China Palace.

I'm super happy that I decided to give the China Palace another go! I've lived in Eagle for a long time and my last memory of China Palace was not a flattering one. Let's step it up to 2015 and talk about what is going on in China Palace today shall we? We ordered take out on a Friday night and Megan took our order and was super friendly. The wait was going to be 30 minutes which as you know in Chinese take out land is pretty long! My husband drove down to pick up the food and it came out super hot at almost exactly 30 minutes on the nose. He said that the interior had been remodeled and was clean and updated and the place was hopping busy!! He said the waitstaff was super friendly and courteous. When we opened our food at home it smelled delicious! The kung pao shrimp as perfectly spicy and super yummy and the vegetables had this awesome sear on them. The snowpeas and water chestnuts were tasty and full of other veggies too. The sauce was not goopy and the veggies were not over cooked. The only miss was the beef broccoli unfortunately. The broccoli was overcooked and that is why I had to drop it a star. Beef broccoli being a pretty important staple of a Chinese restaurant. I used to frequent Jade's but they seemed to go downhill over the past few years so I haven't gone in a long time. I had been craving a place to get my fix and I'm so happy to have found one close! Remember when you read these reviews that it is important to look at the type of business that is being reviewed.....I'm totally going back to this place.

Tonight was our first experience with China Palace and probably our last. It took over 30 minutes to prepare 2 take out meals, even though the place was virtually empty. The vegetables were cooked to death and very greasy. Neither dish had much flavor all and the egg rolls were quite bad. Really wanted this place to be good as it's so convenient to our home, but it's not to be.

China Palace is definitely a three star joint. If you are looking for high end Chinese food you are at the wrong place. If you are looking for a quick and dirty lunch, this place is great. Where else can you get a pile of food for $7. I just ate their broccoli beef + sweet and sour chicken + pork fried rice combo. LOVE IT. Would i take my wife there on a date? NO. When i'm craving Chinese food it hits the spot.

The good: China Palace is the best I have found for Chinese so far in Idaho. I would go back to place an order to go, which is what several others were there doing when we went for lunch. Went for a late lunch at 3 PM. The Broccoli chicken lunch special was good. The Sweet & Sour Pork lunch special was also good. The side order of Fried Rice (with ham, chicken, etc.) was very good - home run. Prices are very reasonable, and portions are very good. Easy to find off State in strip mall on the south side. Ample parking. We were told that the restaurant has been around for over 10 years. Surprisingly clean for a Chinese restaurant. The bad: I took a star off for dirty tables. We were told to sit anywhere, and we wanted a booth. Two booths were open...but wait...they had newspapers, pitchers, dishes stacked up, etc. We were there for 45 minutes, and no one cleaned those booths, despite there being no new customers. I think the owner sits and reads in one of them when it isn't busy, which is understandable. I also took a star off because our server (the only one working) was nice, but very cranky, and battling a cold or something. Several other customers who we talked to warned us that their was a different chef when we went. They seemed unhappy with their order. The owner seemed to rush out of the back of restaurant each time our server pushed the buttons on the cash register and opened the till. I saw this happen 3 times, and was quite strange. In summary, I still believe this is the best Chinese I've had in Idaho state. Give them a try, and see what you think. Thank you, John and William, for your reviews...I would not have driven 30 minutes to China Palace otherwise.

Possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and it was so bland I took 2 bites and had to throw it away. The only plus side? The staff is really friendly.

I have eaten at China Palace at least 20 times. They are my favorite Chinese place in the treasure valley. Sizable portions, extensive menu, and delicious food. I moved here from Southern California, where there is a Chinese food place in just about every plaza, they are everywhere. So I know what good Chinese food is. As for the staff and atmosphere, not very impressive, but always a quiet relaxing place to eat. I have never had any "bad" experiences there. Kung Pao!

Llike the earlier review we had tough time finding even a half decent Chinese. This is our favorite so far. First place we found Chow Fung. Mongolian Beef is full of grilled onions. We will return. For the guy who didn't like his service he has only written one review???

Delicious! We've eaten at China Palace for a long time now and the food just gets better and better. The food here is even more delicious and authentic than the Chinese food I've had in China and Hong Kong! I really recommend the Hot and Sour soup. They also offer anything without MSG upon specification.

I've eaten at China Palace one time, and that was enough for me. I had the Orange Chicken (I think) and it was so bad that I took a few bites and couldn't eat any more. I have friends that think the place is great, but I don't trust their judgement on what decent Chinese food is like. I don't expect miracles, but I know there's better Chinese food than this in Idaho. Not recommended.

Is there a ZERO star to give a restaurant? We just moved to Eagle from California and we are craving Chinese food. We saw this little place and decided to try it. I read the reviews on Yelp before, but besides the negativness, decided to give it a try. OMG!!!! What a dissapointment. When we first walked in, the waitress was on the phone. While waiting for someone to come and seat us, we couldn't help but hear she was taking a customers complaint. First thought, this is not good. She then looked at us and said, "Take a seat anywhere." We did. We could still hear her conversation apologizing and saying she would speak to the manager about whatever the complaint was about. The woman came over, and gave us our menu's. She was nice, but acted in a strange way like she was sick or something. She moved very slowly, had a pencil stuck in her hair... and a dirty rag hanging out the back of her pants pocket. She was acting like she had a back problem, barely moving... I was discusted with how she waited on us. I mean, either she was faking it for attention, or she wanted the rest of the day off. I didn't ask her what was wrong. But the next table that came in did. Two gentlemen, said, "Are you ok?" Just what she wanted to hear. Then she dropped her tablet, and bent down very slowly to pick it up, and said, something about getting older. Anyway, it was awful to have someone like that wait on you. It totally took away from our dining experience. Then when she brought the food, her fingernails were dirty, and she had cupped the small bowl of soup with her hands over the top. AWful. Just then the cook came out of hte kitchen, went into the bathroom, really quick and walked out. You could tell she didnt wash her hands. What a place!!!! We were the only table in there, along with the other table wiht the two gentlemen. Don't go here unless you want to get depressed. The food is awful, the atmospher would be OK if there were POSITIVE people working there. But What a BAD EXPERIENCE... it's too bad because Eagle needs a good Chinese Restaurant. I can't believe some people say this is a 'Little Gem?" OMG... where have you been going out to dinner at????

It's pretty typical chinese food to me, definitely nothing special. Very tired looking inside, which is typical of most chinese restaurants in the valley. I work close to this restaurant so we go here for lunch occasionally. The service used to be much better, but it has gone down hill over the past two years. Positive - They always have a decent lunch special for $5 Negatives - Service is not very good, and the food is just mediocre

Normally our "go to" place. The last two times...not good. Tonight we arrive to a slammed parking lot due to neighboring business gathering. Inside the restaurant only one booth filled...if you don't count the chef sleeping in one with her shoes off, and the hostess/waitress bouncing off the walls. The room temp is barely higher than outside...and there's snow on the ground. Gotta say...dine at your own risk.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
