Family run place, clean, right in downtown driggs so you can walk to restaurants. Fridge in the room so you can get groceries from the grocery store right across the street. It's a bit older and outdated, and the walls are thin. However they have a hot tub, a swing and sandbox in the back, and raspberry bushes you can sample from when the berries are in season - a real treat for our kids.

Motel: warm quaint cozy. Nice bed. Clean. I think 10 rooms? Affordably and fairly priced. Those who appreciate vintage will love it. 20" TV with DVD player in room. Fridge and microwave in room. Electric baseboard heater. Lots of closet space. Pets ok. 1.5 blocks from traffic light at center of town. IMHO perfection. Owners: sooo nice, accommodating, friendly, helpful, decent. Wish I lived closer to Driggs so I could stay here more often. 2 blocks from shuttle to GTR. Old ski posters from @ world on walls, carpeted up to wainscoting in hallway, converted log cabin with add-on motel space, just all around beautiful place. Will accent the memories of your travels positively. Stay here if you are in Driggs.

My two friends and I were on a motorcycle trip to the Tetons and Yellowstone. As we approached Jackson Hole, we began looking for a place to stay for a week. Rooms in Jackson started at $280 per night! In a panic, two of us were driving around looking for something cheaper while another was on the internet. Our internet search lead us to Pines Motel-Guest Haus. 2 rooms (connected) 4 beds $100 a night!!! Sign us up! Then, we realized the motel was not in Jackson Hole, but in Driggs, ID. This was going to put up on the west side of the Tetons and all of the tourist sights were on the east side. We took the rooms anyway. What a GREAT decision. The ride over the pass to Driggs was amazing. Driggs was a great little town with some awesome restaurants. John and Nancy (owners) were amazing. It has been said the rooms were a bit dated as well as the home. However, I felt like I was staying at my grandmother's house! The beds were comfy, refrigeration in room was nice, and there was cable TV with DVD player. Our rooms were attached with one bathroom, but each room had a sink in it which I thought was strange but really they were quite handy. The property is about an acre with large trees, a tree house, swing, and a sandbox. John keeps the backyard grass groomed so he (and guests) have a golf chipping area. They keep the hot tub running all the time so on a whim you can just go enjoy it. There is a nice patio surrounded by pines with a large fireplace and seating. This property is just beautiful and John and Nancy could not have been more accommodating. I asked Nancy if they had ice; she brought me into the downstairs private residence and was trying to give me ice from her freezer!! So no on site ice machine, but the grocery store across the street does If you are in the area, I highly recommend you stay here. You will not be disappointed!

Spur of the moment trip to ski the Tetons. Called here, as I was driving, to see if a room would be available. Sure enough, I could get a queen size bed/room for $40. SOLD. Upon arriving, come to see its one giant house, with private rooms, shared bath, hot tub outside, fridge/microwave in room, plus a tv/dvd.... what a nice surprise. Located on the main st, across from grocery store, a block from the only traffic light (aka downtown). I'll be back for sure.

I've never stayed in a more welcoming, hospitable place! When our other lodging plans fell through, we inquired at the Pines Motel, and despite all of their rooms being booked up, owner Nancy Nielsons let us stay in the charming tree house on their property, use their bathroom, and provided us with sleeping bags and bedding. It was the most fun travel sleeping arrangement I've experienced yet. Thanks, Nancy! Here's their website: thepinestetonvalley.com/…
