Decided to take my Dad here to celebrate his birthday over the Thanksgiving weekend....my mom, I, and my dad decided to eat at the sports bar/restaurant where every booth had a TV. That was a little creepy but....the waitress was less than apathetic to serve us and my Chicken alfredo was ORANGE....I sent it back and the manager brought out the new dish. Complete with correct color sauce..... I get carded at the door, of course. But the security gaurd was nice about it when she saw I had been able to drink for at 10 or more years. The casino itself is large and open with mostly computerized slot machines. Personally, I like the old time slots where the rollers actually roll. I don't trust the computerized ones, but that is just me. The ventilation system SUCKS. I understand this is the last place that you can smoke inside but the air was 1970's stale.... Won a couple bucks that I quickly put back into the machines....taught my mom how to use the slots. My dad enjoyed watching us gamble and we had a good time 'observing' the dice and card games. Not much real excitement going on. More like poverty rearing it's ugly head. People who clearly could not afford to be gambling but were anyway..... 4 stars because I had a good time with my family but will I return, probably not. Definitely not to the restaurant OR buffet. My god, the food was awful. Even the Pepsi was wrong....

We came down for my sister-in-law Ashford University graduation. What a fiasco..but that's another review. We needed a place to stay but everything was booked because people came in from all over the world for this. We found Wild Rose. By all means, please don't stay in the hotel here. Walls are thin like paper. You will not get any sleep. The rooms smell like smoke, my eyes stung from the contact. The continental breakfast was alright..that's about it...alright. I'm glad I only stayed one night. The positive thing is that it seemed pretty clean and rooms were a decent size.

For some reason these people act like they are under as much scrutiny as Indians. I went at about 12AM and the door person asked if I had been drinking. I had come from Lyon's tap so obliged by stating yes. They informed me at that time that I would not allowed to enter. When I disputed stating they allow people to drink inside but if you decided not to succumb to their monopolist ways they will not allow me to enter garnered a response of threatening to call the police. I told them they were dumb and left. Since such altercation I have been out there and is a general casino in Iowa. Nothing special and impressed by a $5 bet with no rewards.

We visited here for the Wild Rose Fest concert. We did not stay at the hotel, which was booked up. We did try the buffet, it was okay, not anything to really brag about. Wouldn't go again, if I have a choice when I get back to the Wild Rose. The Coaches bar/restaurant was decent. First night we just stopped for appetizers, pretzel balls with cheese dip and cheddar bites. Very tasty. I was disappointed when I asked for a drink menu, and they do not offer any special drinks. You have come up with your own from their open bar... I look for places with different cocktails to try and always base some of my review on their creative combination. Staff was friendly. Travis was great, he stopped by to check on the bar after 11p.m. close, due to the concert running until almost 11, and alot of people wanted to grab a drink/bite after the concert and this was the only place open....

Have tried this buffet three times and each time it got worse. I can't believe they continually serving this crap. They have to know this is subpar food . I would have to guess the only ones eating there are people who have never eaten there before. DO NOT EAT THE BUFFET. As far as Coaches Corner it is a step above the buffet but not much.. I am pretty sure everything is pre coked and nothing cooked from scratch. It is really ashame with nice fatality that management can't take advantage and really make this a money maker ..

Stayed next door at the Hampton, saw this and couldn't resist sneaking over. Wow! Quite a place but, unfortunately the house always wins.

Fridge and micro should be in every room. Not added for an additional price! Lots of cable channels that don't work after a storm unless you reprogram the tv. Thankful husband knew how, otherwise we would have waited an hour for maintenance cause they were off the property. A pool to swim in and a jacuzzi to relax in would have been great. Free carb lovers breakfast! Would have enjoyed fresh fruit and more low carb options (diabetic). Maybe some flowers out back and lining the drive. Casino stunk like smoke really bad. Check in staff wasn't very friendly, acted like they wanted to be elsewhere. They seemed very annoyed because we asked a few questions! Not very impressed. The room was clean that's the only good thing I can say.

I walked in and had to leave after a couple of minutes because the cigarette smoke was just unbearable. They need to upgrade their ventilation system or something. I would also have liked if they had one blackjack table with a lower minimum.

Everything here is pretty average. We ate at the buffet and the food was average. It is very clean overall. Our room was nice and big for a standard room.. This place is average overall. Cant complain but can't brag either.

Wife and I have tried this place 3 times. 3 times and they're out! I can honestly say this is the worst buffet food ever. We have given it every opportunity to improve and it hasn't. Sometimes food is warm at best and just doesn't what it should taste like. We will not eat there again.

My Husband decided we needed a night away and suggested we drive to Clinton from the Chicago Suburbs on Saturday 2/16/13. We have been there a couple of times and enjoyed our visit. it is only 2 hours from Aurora and and easy drive down 88 and 30. We arrived around 3pm and asked the pit supervisor when the Let It Ride Table would open. He was very accomodating and said he would get it open in 5 minutes and he did. The table started to fill up with regulars including a woman who had won a royal flush on Valentines day! The regulars and dealers where very nice. Especially Elaine and Mary who was her break person. I sat at the table from 3pm till after midnight on my original $100 buy in until the cards went cold. My husband wasn't so lucky and left to play some slots, settling in at the Cats slot where he had a lot of play time. We left the table at 7pm and went to the buffet. They were featuring Steak night at $12.99 per person. This is the only low point of the trip. The buffet, while convenient and fast was not so great. The male attendant did not have any medium steaks ready but when they came out he plated it, and brought it to our table. Very nice! The host who sat us was a robot and had poor people skills. The server was efficient and brought our beverage and refreshed them and cleared the table. As for the food- ick, the variety was sparse. The steak reminded me of Ponderosa steak. The fried chicken was so dry I could not eat it. They also had a stew, some other type of beef and rice dish. The salad area was very limited. So if you decide to eat do not go to the buffet. Go to the Coaches Corner ( more later). Since it was getting late and we did not want to drive home we check in the hotel and they had a non smoking room available. We are smokers but no issue there.. The room was on the second floor. Very clean and nicely decorated. Two queen beds with plenty of pillows. The room was $99 plus tax. A decent price for a Saturday. There was also a wedding going on in the hotels banquest room on the other side of the hotel/ casino. The table games remained pretty busy until just before midnight but there was never really a wait to play. Nice table minimums of $5 and only$2 on roulette. The slots had a decent variety ( bring back Kitty Glitter!) The older lady pit supervisor was a bit rude to our dealer Elaine when she called a change $100. She seemed stressed but it was a bit uncomfortable at the table when she said sharply to Elaine, I am busy! But later she seemed to chill out a bit and was nicer. The bed was OK a bit hard but other than that no issues. The room had dark curtains that kept the lights outside from shining in. Don't know what others are complaining about. The room came with a free continental breakfast from 7am-9am in the lobby but we slept later. We at at Coaches Corner for Lunch on Sunday. The Ruben was good as was the onion rings. My husband enjoyed the pork tenderlin sandwich. Service was better and the restaurant was clean. We spent a few hours playing and had to head back. I recommend the Wildwood casino for a day trip or weekend. Your gambling $ goes farther with the lower table limits vs those in and around Chicago. The atmosphere is more homey and the regulars and dealers are much nicer. I noticed a lot of the staff recognized the players and were welcoming and friendly. So worth the drive! We will be back! They also had some nice weekly promotions that benefit the casual gambler.

Stopped in for dinner at the Coaches Corner...Excellent food, Better Service and reasonable prices. I'd be a regular customer if I didn't live 1,852 miles away.

Please chose the Hampton Inn instead. We were in town for a wedding at the casino, the reception was great (besides the food). After the reception we decided to go to the casino. They required anyone under 25 to have 2 forms of ID and they wanted to re-ID people who already had wrist bands. They then decided we couldn't go in because we showed signs of intoxication. Yes we were just at a wedding reception... We said fine we will take our business elsewhere and go to the bar next door. They then said we couldn't leave. They talked to us like we were children at a camp. I'm not sure why they have a say about where I can and cannot go. They then followed us very creepily to make sure we went to our rooms. Everyone was very rude from the second we checked in and they told us out room would cost $40 than what we reserved. The breakfast was terrible and the rooms were filthy and humid. The fitness center didn't even have a treadmill. If I ever have to come back I will be staying at the Hampton Inn and I STRONGLY encourage you to book across the parking lot instead of in the smokey hotel at the casino. There is zero benefit of staying there.

Adorable little casino, clean no-frills hotel, plus a bar & grill or buffet restaurant with decent food. A very nice overnight trip from Chicago and a really nice change from all of the big, noisy, smoky casinos.

This is a nice casino, it has 2 restaurants, and a hotel, a gift shop, valet parking or self parking, nice big parking lot. The only thing I can think of is the smoke could be vented better in the casino part. It is a beautiful place, moderate in size, the staff is pleasant. We ate at the buffett restaurant. The crab legs were dry and cool, prime rib was good. Everybody got their fill. Everything is massive, the walls, the pillars, loved it. I didn't hear any complaints from the others.
