I want to say this place appears very new, but I am not 100% sure. It is a bit tricky to get into the parking lot, but you will figure it out. I have now had the experience of about a dozen different fro-yo places in the country and can say this place is pretty much the same as everywhere else. You get the cup and fill it with all the flavors you want and get whatever toppings you want, you then pay by weight. This location has small sample cups for you to try the flavors before committing. Another small note, their cookie dough and brownie bite toppings are soft and moist, that was awesome! The decor is just as colorful and cute as other fro-yo places. The staff member was friendly, but did not talk much.

I've been to quite a few various frozen yogurt places, so I'm starting to think I'm probably an expert on them by now. I've been to Lemontree in the Ankeny area before, so I thought I'd try out a new froyo place. Located in a strip mall, Yumz is right near the newly-built Hy-Vee in Ankeny, so it was pretty easy to get to. It also, in an odd turn of things, shares a room with a pharmacy. It's honestly a bit weird, but you could watch the shelves of the pharmacy while you eat, if you want. The froyo itself is okay. It tastes fine. It's a bit hard to "mess up" frozen yogurt, so I can't say that I've ever really had a problem with it. The flavors weren't too impressive. Just standard, boring flavors. I got chocolate and Cookies & Cream. Nothing else appealed to me. They did have two types of sprinkles, though; I rarely see rainbow sprinkles AND chocolate sprinkles in the same place. So that was really nice. Their cookie dough was extremely soft and chewy too. It was impressive. The building and area was clean. Bathrooms were clean and bright. The froyo stations were clean. The toppings were insanely clean, actually, and appeared to be pretty fresh. They lose some interest for seating arrangements. Most of the seating available is table seating, and while the table chairs are super neat (bright green!), many of them aren't up against walls, and I'm not one that likes to eat in the middle of a room. There's a bit of a couch available, but almost all seating is table and chairs. (At least they're adult-sized chairs unlike the froyo place in Ames) Staff was okay. No welcome or thank you. They did their job fine, and it appears they keep up the area just fine, but they seem pretty unamused about their jobs. They aren't rude, but they aren't chippy either. It works fine for me, but I know some people really like to see happy and involved staff. Final thoughts: It's an okay establishment, but it's not somewhere I'd specifically seek out. If you're in the area and want froyo without driving across town, it works, but it definitely doesn't go above and beyond what most froyo places offer. There's really no reason to avoid it at all, but there's really no reason to remember it either.

Best froyo around! Left Lemon Tree and their unfriendly staff to come here. Very cute little shop :)

I'm a Newby to 'froyo' but I think this place is great. They charge per ounce. Their flavors change often for a great variety. Lots of yummy toppings. They have a frequent filler card to help earn discounts and often have text message discounts.
