Went here one night after shopping at Walmart because we wanted something close and were hungry! We ordered: crab salad nigiri (reg), salmon mayo poke nigiri (reg), ahi mayo poke nigiri (spicy), and tempura maki with ahi poke (reg). We were waiting on the tables located in front of the area where you place your order. My husband left to pick up some groceries while I waited for the food. One by one the lady who took the orders called out for pick up, but not by the number on the receipt, by one of the items in your order. Each time she called out, someone came to the counter to pick up. I patiently sat there. My husband came back from buying groceries and we together sat there for another 15 minutes. During this time, we noticed everyone else had left, the "open" sign had been turned off, and the two employees in the restaurant were now talking story or washing dishes (or doing anything but making food). I made eye contact with them several times so that they would know we were still patiently waiting. (We thought because we came so close to closing that maybe they had to fry the tempura or something?) My husband finally approached the counter and asked one of the ladies how much longer it would take for out food. She replied and says that they were closed already and couldn't take orders. My husband showed them our receipt and the lady laughed as she pulled out a box of food sitting on the counter behind her. She and the other lady then laughed together and said that they called our order earlier. This was the least bit humorous to me. First, I never heard her call out for any order that had any of the items in my order, second, even if she did and I didn't hear it, she definitely didn't call out the same order more than once, thirdly, if we were sitting there for as long as we were and you had an unclaimed order back there, why wouldn't common sense tell you to ask us? After all, we were the only ones there! Lastly, really, this is amusing to you??? Your customers sat in front of your restaurant and waited for at least 20 minutes and instead of an apology you laugh? Anyway, we took home our food only to find out that they gave us spicy salmon mayo nigiri instead of regular. The crab salad nigiri wasn't "salad," it just seemed like crab spread across pieces of nigiri. My husband did enjoy the ahi mayo nigiri. I mean, it was nothing special, but it was what we ordered. The amount of crab and salmon was plentiful on those two orders of nigiri, but the ahi on both the ahi mayo nigiri and tempura maki with ahi poke was skimpy. The tempura maki was also just okay. Based on the service alone though, we won't ever go back.

Probably the worst sushi I've ever had. My bf and I ordered a California roll, Philly salmon roll and a shrimp tempura Maki roll. First off we dined in and she gave us our rolls in a plastic to go container, no soy sauce dish or plates to eat off of. The hand rolled cali roll had more seaweed then rice and fell apart after the first bite, all I could taste was mayonnaise. The Philly salmon roll tasted like it was left under a heat lamp with soggy salmon. That too fell apart the moment you picked it up. The shrimp Maki roll was ok but that too fell apart. Honestly the only thing I liked here was the soy sauce and the tempura shrimp (out of the roll) I will NEVER come here again.

Ordered spicy mayo ahi poke and a dragon maki roll for take-out. It took about 10 mins for them to make my order. I went during lunch time and there was no one dining at the tables nearby so it wasn't busy. It's a little on the pricey side, but it was close to home so I didn't really mind. The food I ordered was also of quality and pretty proportionate considering the price. The ahi was fresh tasting but I've tasted fresher ahi before. It was probably previously frozen. I'm giving this place five stars because the food was good and the wait was short. The two ladies were kind. English is not their first language so it may be hard for some people to understand them.

It's place is close to home and when I want sushi I go here. Sushi in general is pretty pricey but this place delivers with taste. I'm always full after eating have of my order. Orders can take awhile because I believe there is only one person working the bank. I don't mind because since this place is located in a store I just walk around or do a little shopping

Bomb sushi. Get #4 the special mayo ahi poke and get it spicy. My weekly order. The ladies who work there are very nice and on it.

They say they use "fresh" ahi, however the last time I ate there my ahi cubes were still thawing on my roll. :(

1 recommendation to all. If you call in an order make sure you call them back on the day you suppose to pick it up cause somehow they won't remember jack. She didn't even give me a discount on that so BEWARE!

Best spicy tuna on the island! Great service and they use fresh ahi too unlike the other take out sushi joints.

I pretty much only get one thing from there: The spicy ahi mayo with avocado. I have never been disappointed in it! I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes either (busy busy on those days) I think this place is located in Times Kunia by Walmart. I would frequent there so often that the woman even asks my best friend where we are every time she sees him lol. I'm not very adventurous with sushi, I don't know how everything is handled (fish, shellfish) but so far, I've had no problems with my orders :) I just had some today, in fact. lol. There's lots of parking! But it's really kind-of-a-hole-in-the-wall-in-the-store kind of place lol I'm going back when I can!

Quality of sushi was extremely poor! I would have given a 2 star except, we were probably the first customers of the morning tables were all filthy and chairs were pulled out everywhere. Looked like no one cleaned at all from the night prior... Also after eating and looking around we noticed several roaches. Don't think I will ever go back!

Ive been going to Times for a really long time and have never bought anything from Sushiman...until now. Of all the sushi places that I have been to, I was actually disappointed with the quality that they provided. When you think of a good Sushi place, you think of freshness and quality. I didnt think it was as fresh and the quality wasnt that good for me. My wife ordered a Sushi item....not sure which one it was. It was like a California roll and topped with Shoyu Ahi. The rice seemed "old". It was not dry, it seemed like it was more than a day old. And as far as the texture and taste of the Ahi, it seemed like it was previously frozen. The size of it was awesome, but just not up to par with other sushi places. If I do go back, it will be to try something else. If that doesnt go well, strike three and youre out!

So the older Korean cashier is super rude, but hey their sushi is AWESOME. Spicy Ahi May is my fave! Very good portions, service is rather quick and best of all it's a 5 minute drive to satisfy my sushi craving. Open 7 days a week.

First of all, i should have read the signs that this wasn't a place to try. Everyone left and right of this Sushiman was busy, except for them. First impressions walking in, there is a moldy smell or wet paint smell which i couldn't figure out. The windows were tinted so you couldn't see inside, but after going in and getting used to the smell, the place was nice and clean. the menu is extensive and very well conveyed, but after eating here, my friend and I will not come back here ever again. both of us ordered the unagi don. it was okay that there was only the owner looking person working, but when we heard microwave beeping in the background, i thought the worse. now correct me if i'm wrong, an unagi don is usually one piece of fish cut in half with a slight tail and a pretty long piece of fish. well not this time, we had shredded pieces of unagi which was very evident it was supposed to be for the sushi, but it was used for the unagi don. now for the rice. i'm very easy going with the rice, but my friend wasn't. he can smell and taste if it's left over rice from the day before left in a container. left over rice is not used for any type of sushi, chinese fried rice maybe, but not sushi. to top it off, it tasted like it was sushi rice. now if it was good sushi rice i wouldn't be complaining, but it tasted like they put a little more vinegar to mask the left over rice taste. that was just nasty. we were so hungry we just ate it. whenever i order an unagi don, all i ask for is nice heaping amount of fresh rice with a nice size ONE piece or two of unagi with some unagi sauce. that's it. nothing else. if they can try and piece in sushi unagi and rice underneath why order an unagi don, just order about a half a dozen unagi sushis. well it's not wonder they don't have anyone going in there eating. if they can't get an unagi don right, i don't want to even try their sushi. i'm just glad i didn't get sick. on the other hand i do have a very high tolerance for bad food lol.

Whenever I'm in Waipahu, Kunia Sushiman comes to mind when I need a bite. It's clean, pretty big, and they make your sushi fresssh! The spicy ahi comes in sufficiently large morsels, it's owner operated (unlike Ninja Sushis I could name), and the ingredients are pretty good for a fastish sushi place. Every time (and there have been about 10), I get the same thing: Tempura Maki topped with Spicy Ahi. No fancy/weird names here. they call it like it is. $19.55 for 2 of the rolls. Feeds 2 semi-not-hungry beasts of people (me and guy).
