I've been going to this Starbucks for almost 2 years and this is the first time I had to wait a long time for my drink. There was a customer that was like 3 orders after me and he got his drink first. So when I got my drink I went to work then I tasted it and it was so watered down that it tasted like there was no caffeine just flavored water. I was so irritated, I just wasted my money on this drink.

This location is in a great area, as it is close to the interstate and Mililani. I also love that it has a drive thru and the staff are always friendly. I usually come here on the way to work in the morning or after dropping kiddo off at school. They usually don't run out of menu items. Coffee: Consistently good; although I usually get caramel macchiato in hot, iced and frap. I have tried the refreshers and those are a good pick for a more light beverage when it's hot out. Location tips: There is a UPS, sushi restaurant (Ninja Sushi), Panda Express, RamenYa and salon right next to the Starbucks in case you need to run a mail errand or pick up some lunch.

UPDATE. Saturday afternoon 9/5, went in at 1ish pm only because the drive thru was ridiculous. There was one person in line, score, right?! Well, I gave a simple order. Quad iced espresso, two pumps white mocha. Waited over 10 minutes for my drink. Then, it was wrong. Ok, it happens. Waited another 10 minutes because they were switching baristas for breaks and what not. I guess the barista didn't communicate my drink. Got my drink, no apology. Left, cause I was in a rush, took a sip of my drink, WRONG AGAIN. It tasted like straight white mocha!! I have NEVER had an experience like this at this location before, I just hope this is just a hiccup to their service. I will continue to visit the drive thru at my normal 5am timeframe. It never lets me down.

Drive thru service at this location has always trumped the in store experience. The lines moves quick, the person who takes your order is friendly and knowledgable - what's not to love? Even though I'm tempted to go inside to see what different snacks & food they have available, I just stick with the drive thru because I can count on the consistency of service and speed.

1 star for the drink I had today: Cool Lime Refresher... I do not recommend. Had to add some sugar packets to it. And it only made it slightly better. Wish they had the liquid sugar/syrup dispenser out for use. All Starbucks should have that for you to use. Should have stuck with my usual Passion Tea w/strawberry

Can I say I am so lucky we live near a Starbucks DRIVE-THRU? Back in LA I was spoiled rotten living right across from one but never walked. Yes, it was that close and never ever walked (and I'm a runner). I always took advantage using the drive-thru. Before moving out here, my in-laws warned me that there is one Starbucks drive through on the island. I was devastated. Lol. I was really considering on not moving because of this. Lol. So when we did move, come to find out that we happen to live near that one Starbucks drive thru. I was so happy I felt like I won the lotto. Hahaha. And then they built another one in Kapolei. So yay! I'm happy! The drive-thru line here is always long on weekends and mornings but it's pretty fast. Friendly customer service. Staff here are nice and quick to fix an order that's hardly messed up. See you in the drive-thru!

Wow, this has got to be the worst Starbucks on the island. I come every once in awhile because it's close to where I live; but if possible, I try and go to the Mililani one instead. The past couple of times I was working on the benches facing outside. My wife and I started getting itchy and I felt I was getting a cold. It only started when we got into this Starbucks and 'lo and behold, stopped when we left. They might want to clean up and mop every once in awhile. Looks like they care more about their drive-thru more than the inside customers. The food window is mostly always empty and like others have mentioned, the service is hit or miss. Sometimes I get great service, sometimes like tonight, bad. My wife ordered a Passion Strawberry Tea and a hot coffee for me. The girl was handing back my wife's card then abruptly took it back. I guess the card didn't go through initially but geez, couldn't you have said something before just taking it back. Then that happened a second time. She held out the card to give back to my wife, my wife was about to take it then she AGAIN took it back, no explanation. The girl then mumbled something and my wife couldn't make out what the heck she was saying so she asked "what?" The girl then said "Passion Strawberry Tea - FINE!' Sheesh, what an unprofessional attitude. Not only that, but they didn't even call out our drinks when it was ready. There was only one other person ordering, not like they were busy. Not even the drive-thru was busy. At times the employees can be loud and somewhat crude (i.e. talking about personal stuff in front of the customers, which is NOT very professional). The owner of this SB needs to do something to improve customer service. It's really give Starbucks a bad name.

Friendly and clean..outdoor seating: just no plush sofas and chairs that you find everyone now and then. Love the staff though!!!!! Thank you!!!!

Drive thru is super convenient. Staff is mostly friendly, but I've had a few bad experiences which I think stems from the fact that they are always really busy. One in particular, where the barista rolled her eyes at me when I said the drink was wrong, and then wanted to argue about what I had ordered (from another barisa, who happened to be a new employee, so very feasible that he got the order a little wrong). Needless to say, she did not offer to make it right (all she had to do was add ingredients - not even remake the drink), which was ironic since she was standing in front of the SB sign that says "love your drink every time or we'll remake it."

I love this Starbucks. Let me rephrase: I love this Starbucks only at 3am, when I hit up the drive through on my way to an early shift. If I come at any other time of the day, something goes awry. I realize that they are bound to run out of certain food items throughout the day, that's fine, but if I've already placed my order at the drive through and you've ran out of it by the time I get to the window, tell me. Please. This is what happens every single time, it never fails: *pulls up to drive through* "Hi, may I have a passion tea lemonade and a banana bread?" - - "You got it, that's a passion tea lemonade and a banana bread, your total is $6.00" *Pulls up to window* *hands cashier a ten dollar bill* - - "Hi! Alright, your total is $3.00, out of ten.." "Sorry, $3.00? I had the passion tea lemonade and the banana bread.. I think it should be $6.00?" - - "Yeah, it was, but we don't have banana bread." Really? So I was gonna pay, you were gonna hand me my drink, then I was gonna sit there until the Gods spoke to me and advised me that I wasn't getting my banana bread? If I could offer just one teeny tiny suggestion: If you run out of something that I had already ordered, a simple "Hi, I apologize, we ran out of banana bread, would you like to try something else?" would make my day. Seriously. Just acknowledge it. I won't make you churn up a new batch while I hold up your line. I promise.

I enjoy the drive through. even if the line may be out of the parking lot, they still move very quickly. probably quicker than finding parking in a tiny lot, parking, then walking in the store, standing in line, ordering, waiting, then walking back to your car! Drive way is the way to go unless you're not pressed for time! :)

I've been coming here since this place opened since I only live right down the road. There's a huge difference between then and now! Before the renovations, I'd come here nearly everyday before heading to school. It seemed like 5-8 minutes was enough time to order and get my drink, even on a busy day when the line is backed up. Everything seemed to start getting slower after the renovations or the hiring of new workers. I usually spend at least 10 minutes in the drive-thru now. On two occasions, it took so long to get the drinks after ordering in the drive-thru that they gave me my order for free. I also tried ordering inside because I thought it would be faster. Seems like they're even slower if you order inside! Sometimes they're on it, but most of the time they aren't. Drinks are all right. One star for service

  • D T.

Drive thru service is a good idea but don't forget about your customers that actually come inside and order

  • Lauren P.

I love this drive-thru location. It's pretty much always busy & like the bulk of places in Hawaii, they can be slow. Yet the baristas are the nicest. Drinks are made consistently. TIP: In a hurry? Drive-thru is always faster.

This Starbucks sucks! Been here twice, the first time I came here was Wednesday and I have to leave WITHOUT MY DRINKS because I'm already late for work. I've waited 20 minutes and still my drink hasn't been made! Now I'm coming here after work, ordered a Venti Black Ice Tea Lemonade and waited for another 20 minutes knowing there were 5 people working today and just one other person waiting got her drink. WHAT'S UP WITH YOU PEOPLE??? And now after waiting for 20 minutes the lady gave me my tea unsweetened which you only get if you ask for unsweetened. For real!? So I had to come back and tell the barista that it isn't what I've ordered. Even when I got my black iced tea lemonade it tasted diluted! Two bad experiences here and I think it has to do with the fact they also have a drive-through and that takes a lot of their attention.

Slow at lunch.. Everyone at lunch here today. Trash full, counter where coffee fixings dirty, tables dirty, floors dirty .... wow what a mess. yeh yeh yeh I know only 2 people behind counter and a Manager helping. Whatever...... deal with it if you need your coffee fix. Waiting for coffee time average for busy Starbucks Wifi is junk here... my 3g works better then their service. One of the dirties Starbucks I've ever been too. Service was no care kinda service. Drive thur busy. Help..... I'm running from this place, but can't.. Kinda stuck because of tires getting put on car and rather be sitting at Starbucks then the Costco snack area with all the Costco eaters. I hope manager comes and cleans this place since the poor little guy who normally cleans the olace isn't here and the 2 worker inside are too busy.

Efficiency. We parked and went inside because of a long drive thru line. We ordered pastries at the register next to the pastries. The cashier then told us to pick it up at the pick up area. Waited ten minutes for it. I asked for my order because I noticed they were slowing down. I assume I'm waiting for the people ahead of me who actually had drinks being made. The cashier could've taken the extra 30 seconds to bag up my order and hand it to me, instead we waited 12 minutes. The line for drive thru and walk in were both crowded, probably due to inefficient procedures.

I love that it's drive thru! Fast service and overall good customer service! I just hate how they always run out of everything!!! And I wish they gave some type of military discount.....

I don't know how these people do it! It's 8 AM on a weekend and they look like they've been up for hours. Here I am, and I can barely function. I just rolled out of bed. They were a well-oiled machine by the time I walked in! And ya gotta give them props for efficiently working the shop AND the drive thru.

Lazy barista ran out of steamed milk for my latte and tried to make up the difference with whipped cream. Make the drinks right, it doesn't take that long to steam milk.

I totally thought I've already reviewed this location! This is the Starbucks that I consider my "home store". Convenient location - next to Costco, on the way to the highway, close to home... and a drive through! It recently got rennovated and I really enjoy the new set up. There is more space for the baristas to make beverages, lots of seating - the bar stools & bar table wrap around the edge of the store. I'm not the biggest fan of the large square table with stools around it and miss the cushy chairs and individual tables. There are still tables and chairs outside to enjoy. The ladies and gents who work at this location are very pleasant and efficient. I've seen many newer faces the last several times I stopped at this location. One of the best features about this store is the drive through! I don't think I've ever waited longer than 5 minutes in this drive through! As pleased as I am that the store re-opened with the changes however, bring back some cushy seating please!

I don't even know. I've been to this Starbucks a million times and it's either fantastic service or really really slow service. The baristas are always extremely friendly and unlike other locations, the drink always tastes great. On my last visit, I waited 2 minutes in the drive thru to receive my cake pops. It's not like they were baking them fresh, so I'm not sure what the delay was. My drink was ready as soon as I pulled up.

I literally live at Starbucks across the island as it's a perfect place to meet people or to conduct a casual meeting. This Starbucks is unique because of the drive thru which is very convenient because you can pick up your drink of choice and not have to hassle with parking because the lot is small. It's located near the freeway and Costco so it's nice that you can hop on the freeway or go to Costco to do some shopping. The wifi is free and you can sit inside or out. It is a smaller Starbucks compared to Ward and some of the other locations on the island.

Quick customer service with a smile, It can't get any better than this! Every staff member here is on it, they have each other's back to make sure everything goes smoothly. The crew here is a prime example of teamwork.

Go to the drive thru almost every day, truly appreciate the friendly girls that work, every now and then I feel rushed by the other workers. However due to the convenience and the location can't help but come back for the iced caramel macchiato!

This is my favorite Starbucks. Straight up. I will skip the Starbucks I'm Mililani Mauka to go to the Waipio Gentry Starbucks. They are faster and friendlier than any Starbucks I have ever been to. Also they have a clean restroom and plenty of seating and electrical outlets for those if us who want to work and sit in their shop. I don't think enough shops do that for customers it's always a constant struggle to find an outlet at other Starbucks but here they are all around the perimeter of the seating area under the bar seats. I just love it! My favorite drinks to get are; the Valencia Orange Refresher, chocolate Chai Tea Latte, Pepermint Mocha and Americanos. I live that they have a drink for my every need and mood. It's really amazing. Food! I love love love the protein bistro box and the Hamm and cheese sandwich, they are pretty darn tasty.

I pretty much only come here when I am getting something done to one of my cars. I then walk over from the Tony Honda/Nissan area and get myself a drink. It is super nice and convenient that it is within walking distance. Each time I have come here it is always busy - but they always seem to handle busy really well! I have never had to wait to long and they really got their flow down! They do have a drive thru - though I have never used it. All in all - I love Starbucks. I love my soy Chai. So I love it here. (I think just writing about it might have made me want a Chai) (Addict. I know.)

My favorite Starbucks location! I go to this Starbucks if I'm going to be in a couple of hours studying or doing volunteer work. I like how they renovated it, now that it has plenty of seating with the counter tops, more electrical outlets and a restroom (you will need to get the code from the Starbucks employees). What more could you ask for? I usually get the brewed coffee (or iced tea for something different) since I'm in for a few hours...yay for free refills with the Starbucks card! As for customer service, the employees are friendly and efficient. I've never been to their drive-thru yet; I plan to go to it one day.

Love this location and the way they use labels rather than your name for the drinks. Convenient walk from the places I frequent. Crowded but I do like the counter tops with bar stools around the perimeter of the back side. Plus they have a drive thru.

  • Leila K.

The drive thru is great, I think it's faster than going into the store. While it can get very crowded I always come here. I live nearby and enjoy just driving thru to get my coffee then picking up my breakfast from fatboys. Sometimes in the early morning they know my order and make it quick and easy to get.

Went through the drive thru the morning..I usually go at night around 9...I was shocked to have gotten in and out as fast as I did...Love my girls over there.. Will keep driving from Pearl Harbor/Hickam to get my fix

  • Bryan A.

This location may be small.. but great workers that provide friendly and fast service. Even when the line is a bit long, ive always received a fast, sincere, smile and greeting when I get to the register. Order come through accurate and even if they make a mistake, let them know and they will fix it right away... to the Laiakea Barista's: good job!

    (5)
  • Bonnie R.

First of all I just wanna say I was inside standing in line and I was next to order my drink but before I could say anything the lady at the register told me hold on and she took the lady's order behind me first. I understand there are regulars who come every morning but it doesn't mean you can disrespect the non regulars! That was so rude of her. She wore glasses, had black hair in a bun and tattoos on her arm. Just disappointed she was NOT courteous (SMH) and BAD customer service because she also did not get my order right. She gave me an iced frappacino instead of a blended one which I did not ask for. I'm never again going there in the a.m. before work.

This Starbucks is a hit or miss, lately it seems more of a miss. I've had a stint at Starbucks back in the day, and know how stressful it can be when it gets busy. The last 3 times I've gone, these things have happened to make me come to a 3-star conclusion: 1. Forgot my drink. Iced coffee. And when I politely asked, the manager (?) got a little defensive and said it was right here, next in line. He then asked me what size and if it was sweetened. Wait. If my cup was right there, why are you reiterating my order? Just fess up! You forgot. And no apologies. This is not the first time. 2. A barista (whom I don't see anymore) told me they don't have a Thai when I ordered. Come again? After trying to explain what is in a Thai, he continued to tell me they don't make that. 3. My friend saw a little creature dude in the food case, and by little I mean big, and by creature, I mean roach. Its a Starbucks with a drive-thru. Sometimes friendly and efficient, mostly ho-hum.

  • Janet M.

My favorite Starbucks location. I take that extra drive and pass the other locations. I love the staff, they're always happy and knows our orders and gets it perfect!! If ever, but very rare, gets my order wrong they will gladly correct it without hissing or rolling of eyes.

  • Nate A.

I love this location. I come here quite often. The only reason why I love this place is their drive thru. I live in Mililani and they just recently opened a drive thru Starbucks in the new Mauka town center, but that shall be another yelp story. The customer service is fantastic. When I get to the cashier, I always can't wait to find out who is behind there. They are always bubbly with such energy. Coffee shots behind the counter, I guess? Secondly, I love this location because of it's consistency. Whenever I get my same order, it tastes the same like it would at any other Starbucks. At times, due to the long waits they comp the drink which has happened to me quite a few times. Thank you, guys! Some minor setbacks, Getting there in morning around peak hours which is 7:30am - 8:00am the line can almost go near the ending of Seattle best coffee. Plan ahead. Another pet peeve that pisses me off is entering because of that right turn that takes my whole steering wheel. It is scary when people are turning from the opposite side leaving the premises, I feel like my car is going to get a makeover...not in a good way. Overall: Awesome workers, Wonderful service, Consistency, and always plan ahead before going to this location in the morning.

I guess this is my first post, too bad it has to be a negative one =( I usually come here to study. Tonight I found a tiny roach squashed by the ice cubes in my peach green tea lemonade. As a student I can't afford to get sick! I asked for another one, and when I went to pickup my drink, there was another roach that ran past my drink on the counter . 10/12/2014 =( please get rid of the roaches, i'm scared to eat or drink anything now.

I really love this Starbucks location (and not because it's the closest one to my house). The service here is really great. The staff never failed to greet me and they're very patient when you're ordering. All my orders have been nothing but perfect. Their drive-thru, however, can be very busy. Sometimes it's faster to just walk-in unless you don't mind waiting in the car. They just remodeled this location and the new layout gives it much more space for customers and the baristas.

  • Greg C.

I have to admit, I'm not the biggest Starbucks fan. The coffee is typically too strong for my taste, the prices are too high, and there's never a 'good seat' in the place because of folks that seem to live there with their laptops and lattes. This location has one of the worst parking lots in the State. Unless you plan on going through the drive-thru, you may get stuck in a stall where you can't get out. It's very poor design. They recently remodeled the place, but it doesn't seem like it gained any charm - in fact, it got worse. To be fair, I love their iced teas, and their service is usually pretty darn good. It's convenient near my home, and a great place to hang if you don't want to walk the thousands of aisles at Costco. Three stars for convenience, service and iced teas. That's about as generous as I can be Baristas!

This Starbucks is lacking something. Customer flow or something. Every time I've gone in hoping to quench my macchiato craving, the line is super long and the baristas just move at a snails pace. Totes get it togetha YALL! Yummy but not worth it!

My favorite location, cause it's close to home with a drive thru!!! Love the convenience of the drive thru service!! I have never had a bad experience at this location and though the drive thru line does get long during peak times, it moves quickly. Here is my list of my favorite Starbuck items and why I frequent it so often! And yes, I am a gold card member and I'm good on membership through 2013 already!!! Favorite seasonal drink & dessert: Hot peppermint mocha & cranberry bliss bar Perfect Oatmeal Hot chai tea latte Cafe mocha for me!! Caramel brûlée latte Cool lime refresher & protein box :) Bacon & Gouda artisan breakfast sandwich Java chip frappe Strawberry sweetened ice tea & sausage chicken breakfast wrap!! Strawberry sweetened black tea and chicken Santa fe panini. Mocha frappe Iced coffee w/sugar free caramel Light frappucino with sugar free caramel. Sugar free vanilla latte

I absolutely love coming here on my lunch break (I work right across the street so its super close). Every time I come here the workers are friendly and everything they make is amazing and done right. It can get kinda slow if they are busy but I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to get my drink and be on my way. This place is a MUST for me.

the drinks are pretty good. my only problem is the girl who works here with the flower tattoos on her arms. SUPER bad attitude. she ignored me and i had to ask her the same question 3x before she answered me and when she finally did, she treated me like I was an idiot.

I work in the area and love the fact that this Starbcuks have a drive thru. I work in the area and when I need a quick Starbucks fix before going into work, I have 2 locations to choose from. When I'm running a little later than usual and crunched for time I choose this location because of the drive thru. In the morning hours tho however, the line for the drive thru can get really long, and can take forever. If I glance at the tiny parking lot and see if there's stalls available, I'll park and go inside. In those instances I find it easier to do so. The parking lot at this starbucks is really ample as it shares parking with other businesses in the same building. The baristas are always friendly and welcoming. 4 stars for consistancy.

You hear it all the time: "All Starbucks are the same" ...except, they're not. Not this one, anyway. You see, some Starbucks have better service, some Starbucks have more tables and outlets, but this one... This one has great baristas! Yes, delicious shots of espressos in your lattes, mocha, frappuccinos! ...Oh, and of course, the best part: a drive thru! Walk In - Long lines when it's busy. Drive Thru - Long lines when it's busy. Walk In - Fast, friendly service. Drive Thru - Fast, friendly service. Walk In - "Condiments station" Drive Thru - Counter with tip jar... no condiments, only compliments Walk In - Lots of seating, even some outdoors Drive Thru - More than enough seating for me if I'm by myself Walk In - Clean bathroom Drive Thru - Bathroom for birds Switching... Drive Thru - Don't need to find parking or get out of the car. Walk In - Small, awkward parking lot Drive Thru - No mouth watering display of pastries = good for your diet and your wallet Walk In - Mouth watering display of pastries = Mouthful of pastries, hopefully not on display Drive Thru - Convenient! Great for on the go! Walk In - Less convenient and great for on the go... Drive Thru - Never gotten a wrong order yet! Walk In - Still never gotten a wrong order Drive Thru - Baristas know what they're doing! Walk In - Same baristas, I'm sure of it! So it really doesn't matter if you decide to walk in or drive through, this Starbucks is totally my favorite on the island!

Drive through window! Need I say more? Convenient! In my opinion, you tend to get the right order all the time if you walk in. My theory is that you've drove away and are long gone before you take that first sip. This is for you, lactose intolerant people, who find their morning grande Americano, 1 packet raw sugar stirred with soy is now a Grande latte, 3 packet splenda with half and half. May the traffic gods bless you that morning and part traffic, like Moses and the Red Sea. And, more than likely, you will not fall victim to leaving (driving away) before you get your drink. Seen that enough times. Oh, and am I the only one who never gets a napkin w their drink? Moral of the story? Like any other drive thru, check your order before you leave.

    (3)
  • Jessica-Nicole U.

I would give this place two stars but I'm giving it an extra one just for the drive through!!!! I think that really bumps it up on the "cool factor" line. The inside is a little awkward, really small and I don't think I'd feel really chill inside.. they do have seating outside, but not too cool cuz it's awkward, right next to the highway.... and it's kind of hot. The service is pretty okay...

  • Shara M.

I come here because it's literally across the street from my job, and I regret it every time. Staff is more concerned about the drive thur then walk in guests. I have got my correct order (on the first time) 1 in 4 times. I often have to remind staff about food I order and then it's the "my fault attitude". Plan to wait 10-15 minutes (if this a mild crowd) for your coffee. I go about 1420-1430, so I'm not sure if it's just that shift, but be prepared. I always tell myself take the extra time to got to another one, and always kick myself when I get to this Starbucks.

With most of the original staff gone, you can see the change in the quality of the drinks and wait time. Alot of them are still training and the rest relocate to diffrent Starbucks so you rarely see your favorite barista anymore. I frequent this location bc i work so its pretty much a "deal with it' or drink water deal. I cant complain all that much since i still use the drive through, but its all about timing...if you come on a weekend it could set you back 15-20 mins, you could walk inside but you could wait just as long since they tend to focus more on the drive-thru customers.

LOVE THE DRIVE THRU!! SERIOUSLY CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IT!! Every morning my sister and I come here to get a tall hot white mocha and it always tastes great. My coffee has never tasted burnt or bitter. Never ever! Even though the lines are long, the staff makes the orders quickly and they are always nice when we come up to the window. My mind was totally blown yesterday because our order was on the house since the system was down. That is awesome service!! The parking is a little tight, but I guess that's why they have a drive thru. I have to say that this Starbucks has been the most consistent. Five stars for sure!!

Drive thru!!! That's always a plus for me. This location is always busy. The service is fairly quick, no matter how busy it is. If you're planning on having a study session or want to relax with a cup of coffee this is not the SB for you. Spent hours here studying while in college and I could never focus because it's always busy and a little noisier than other locations. Overall, great location because it's next to Costco. Subway, and Panda Express.

I love that this Starbucks has a drive through! When I am in a hurry it's nice to have that option to order my drink and go! I tried there vanilla machiatto today! It's amazing! The staff here is always friendly :-)

Everyday while on my way to work into town, I have a little conversation in my head and usually goes something like this: "I need coffee. I need it now." "Can't get out of car-- in a rush" "Oh Waipio has a DRIVE THRU!" "But they take FOREVER" "But maybe Jesus is on your side today and there will be NO LINE!" "You only have 30 minutes to get to town, and that damn traffic" "I NEED COFFEE I NEED IT NOW" "You're going to be late for work." "OK... damn you're right. I need to go straight to work." Then with about 10 meters to spare I cut over into the right lane so I can get to the Ka Uka Blvd Exit. "Yep, you have problems" And THEN I will get to the drive thru, only to realize what an idiot I am for convincing myself that getting coffee was more important than getting to work on time. Seriously. Don't ever come here if you are in a rush, A.K.A: You need your coffee before work and you need it now because you've got to get to work in 30 minutes. Every time that I have been here, the drive thru has been a million cars long portruding out of the designated "Drive thru" space, into the parking lot, and even wrapping around the cement parking blocks preventing other cars from getting into the parking lot! :( This review is about the speed of this starbucks, the crowdedness, and the inconsistency. Even when I have gotten out of my car to order inside the store (like people did in the olden days), I have had to wait about 10-15 minutes to get my drink. A few times they have made my drink incorrectly. "Oh you wanted that cold?" Usually i'll just take the drink because then that means waiting another 10-15 minutes. Oh and they've killed my espresso shot countless countless times. Ew. This place is in an awesome conveninent location, and it is awesome and convenient to about a million people! Not their fault--- good for them, but I am just warning you. Don't ever come here if you are in a rush, and don't come during peak coffee hours (aka. right before work). I need to stop talking myself into needing coffee from this location, and start talking myself into a different location. You are warned!

It really feels like a small coffee shop... The baristas are friendly, the service is good, and has open air seating! The drive through can be annoying if dumb people are ahead of you. Definitely a good Starbucks

This Starbucks revealed its renovation transformation today (4/25)! With bar-style seating by the window, a huge study table, a new merchandise shelf, upgraded cushioned stools and a huge workspace for the baristas, this Starbucks is absolutely breathtaking! I may even consider walking in more often than automatically veering into the drive-thru! There were still boxes on the floor, with the workers still trying to stock their merchandise shelves and putting the final touches on their products. The registers may not be fully functioning yet (we weren't able to see our gift card balance, nor did they have access to it), but overall, I can see the workers and customers alike, love the new changes and upgrades to the store. It's been a long 12 days, waiting for the drive-thru to reopen while they underwent renovations, but after seeing the finished product, I can safely say, it was well worth the wait!

This location has horrible service. After the store was renovated, the staff changed and somehow they have not found the right tempo to work together to provide drinks in a timely manner. I waited 20 minutes to get 1 venti iced coffee! ridiculous! From listening to the people in front of me they were just as disappointed waiting for their drinks. Why do they not make drinks in the order they were taken? Some people came after us and they got their drinks 10 min. sooner. Some people had ordered multiple drinks and they would be done with one of the drinks before they would get the other one. And they kept making drinks in random order and putting them on the counter, when no one claimed them (probably because people waiting didn't know what the drinks were) they didn't bother trying to locate who ordered them. Why don't they call names like a lot of the other Starbucks so if people order the same thing there would be no confusion, especially when they busy and are making them in any order. This was the 2nd time I've had a similar experience at this Starbucks and won't go back. I'll drive the extra distance and go to Waikele.

Good news!It has a drive through! Bad news! It shares a location with Costco so beware of crazy drivers. The entrance closest to Costco gets crazy so I try to avoid that entrance and instead turn into the entrance by the car service shop. It's a spacious Starbucks with outdoor seating areas by the drive through (which kind of makes it an awkward place to study) and raised tables along the walls in addition to tables in the middle of the store. The "study" areas are separated from the purchasing area by a display shelf, giving it a more collegiate atmosphere. It's conveniently located right off the freeway and if you need to do some heavy duty shopping the Costco is but a walk away. While at this shopping center, you could also do lunch/dinner since there are many eateries, including Panda Express and Daichii Ramen.

Kinda small and very cramped - too much seating for the small space they have. A good place to wait while Costco is rotating tires but not much else I can see to recommend this Starbucks location

I have been going to this Starbucks almost everyday for the past 8 months. The people working there are all very nice and polite, but that is it. Half the time I have been there they seem to mess my order up. I order I triple, grande, vanilla,SOY latte. Why do they almost always miss the SOY? So if they get my drink right they forget that I ordered food! I really do appreciate the free drink coupons, but I'd rather pay for my things and they get my order right. If you walk in to get your drink, which I do, expect to be there for anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes. Today I put in my order and left to put gas down the street. When I returned I still waited 5 minutes for my drink to be ready. They cater too much to the drive through. Sorry Starbucks, but Laniakea needs help not yelp.

In line right now at 5:55. Got in line at 5;51...not moving AT ALL. If you can't produce enough staff to deal with drive thru customers, you should close it down. Now it's 5:59 and ordering...got coffee and food at 6:02. Geeeeeez.

I have to give this Starbucks 5-stars simply because there is a drive-thru and I adore that I don't have to take my three kiddies out of the car to get a latte. In a parallel Universe (also known as Perfection) I bet everything is drive-thru! Starbucks, Costco, high school, the gynecologist, EVERYTHING! Life is always to-go and you can debit everything in a snap via a microchip in your hand. But alas in this imperfect Universe, beware that on a busy morning the drive-thru can get very backed up. And in some cases it might be better to just park and stand in line. Hanging out inside is actually decent and when I get my oil change done at Tony Auto, my BF & I always walk over. The baristas are always very nice and service is excellent. One time we sat next to a man who was reading a book. I thought about the last time I actually had the time to sit down at a coffee shop and enjoy a book. It was a good ten years ago and I was completely envious of that man. He would not understand why drive-thrus are essential in my life filled with work, three kids and no time. My Christmas wish this year is that they'll open up a drive-thru Starbucks in town. Come on Santa, I've been a very good girl this year! Yelp 365 Challenge: #85/365 (The Drive-Thru)

Terrible service. I asked the barista taking my order if I could redeem multiple rewards nicely and she gave me this snobby look like "no I don't want to help you, but it's my job". Might I remind you all that I asked very nicely and began with my order. I asked if I could get a venti hot chocolate split into 3 short cups, and again she gave me a snobby look like "are you kidding me". I continued with the rest of my order and said thank you and sorry numerous times knowing that I had a long order. She didn't acknowledge me for ordering or said thank you. I waited for my order patiently like any customer would. I got the 3 short cups and found mocha smudged all over the sides of all three cups (which shows how clean they make their drinks, obviously not). I asked for stoppers, and the barista that made my drinks, only gave me 3... Knowing that I had 6 hot beverages. Seriously? They can't give decent customer service and do simple math. Ridiculous. Sad thing is, I work at Starbucks also and I would never be so rude and filthy. I hope they do some reevaluating on their customer service. I don't want to come here ever again if it's going to be the same way.

  • Lynn U.

I will give this place two stars for the awesome drive thru and the occasional hot male barista at the window. However, this is their only positive. I have been to many different Starbucks and this is the only one with inconsistent service and product. I have been here many times and have only received the correct drink maybe 55% of the time. For example, today I ordered an iced coffee with caramel walls and whipped cream. Final product: iced coffee. no caramel, no whipped cream wtf Another issue is that they do not fill their coffee cups to the top most of the time. I order a grande, and get a 70% full cup, equivalent to a tall. Are you afraid I'm going to spill coffee and go all McDonalds on you? I want what I paid for. Having customized add-ons seem to be a problem with this location also, if you request an extra shot or syrup, it may or may not be included. You can tell by the taste if these were added on or not.

  • Lowana L.

It's odd, I always come here because I love their drive-thru and order the same thing. A hot chai latte, no water, with non-fat milk. However, every time I go, it always tastes so different. Sometimes it's watery/bland, sometimes it's very strong, sometimes its perfect. Once I got one that had a shot of espresso that I didn't even ask for. I wish they were a little more consistent because their service is excellent. The baristas are always welcoming and nice, my only riff is consistency. Other than that, I will still continue to return for their customer service.

  • Kawehionalani M.

Love coming to this Starbucks even though being in Mililani Mauka it would make more sense to go to the ones in Mililani but I rather be here at this one. Why?! Well the answer is simple, customer service is one of my important ways of rating a place and having a pleasant time and wanting to come back so.... I usally I come here either in the mornings on my way to work or on my way to school because I'm always going down to Kapolei Side. I have to say the perk and the best seller to this Starbucks is the DRIVE THRU!!! Dang that makes life so much easier and so much more convenient if you decide not to go into the store. I would say that the lines aren't really long but they can become long and the staff over there are quick to take your orders and make them as well. So there really isn't a complain or a worry on my part. They haven't messed up my order once yet. I would say that during certain hours of the day it does get very crazy and noisy for those who want to come in and study for college or even have a business talk, its not really a quiet place to have an intimate setting to really focus on a conversation or even study. Overall Great service to customers, great location and there's other eateries nearby which is awesome if you don't want to pay for their food prices, sense there pretty steep. Hope you all enjoy this review and enjoy your time at my favorite Starbucks.

  • Stacey M.

One word...DRIVE-THRU! If you're looking for something simple and quick, this Starbucks is super convienient, right on/off the freeway. Although if you go before work, the line for the drive-thru gets pretty long and you could be sitting in line for 5-10 minutes. If you're a regular Starbucks customer, get the Starbucks Card on the Starbucks app. You get points for every purchase and coupons.

  • Tammy S.

Overall: 4 1/2 stars 5 stars for their awesome customer service 5 stars for the drive-thru 3 stars for the inconsistency of the drinks Some employees make the drinks tastier than others. Others forget to add the sweeteners and syrups into the drinks. That hasn't stopped the hubby and I going there. The location and drive-thru makes it extremely convenient for us on the way home from work. Plus the workers are friendly and some even remember us because we go so often.

  • Jaleen M.

Service is so terrible! Waited in the drive thru for half an hour. Got to the window and shes talking to the other workers. When our drink was pau she continues talking while HOLDING the drink. Lile stated in another review, since the renovation, workers have been crappy. Would rather drive into Mililani then return to this location any time soon.

Starbucks. You been to one, you know their menu. The ambiance at this Starbucks can be summed up as small especially with the number of customers they receive and half of them being students. They do have a drive through which I never used but, I haven't seen another Starbucks on the west side of the island before. They do have outdoor seating which I enjoy, except when processional cars that need to have a tune up passed by. The customer service here is good and friendly. If you are a regular here they definitely get to know you and your regular drink.

Drive thru? Automatic 5 star rating! Okay but not really... lol... here are the other reasons they get 5 stars. -convenience (drive-thru) -ease of ordering -speed you receive your drink (so long as you don't go when 49388434 other people want their caffeine fix!) -friendly service -if you actually park and get out of your vehicle... (I did once or twice, I swear!) this location is very clean. -clean restrooms -comfy furniture to chill on -cold a/c! Whether it's 6AM and I need a steaming hot vanilla latte or 6PM and I need a white chocolate mocha frap w/ whip... I can always count on this Starbucks location! (count on not getting outta my car either, heehee) :p

Smallest sb ever. I mean the drive thru is a perk, but it doesn't even make up for the negatives. It's so small. Biggest turn off. It's si hard to study when other people are smashed up by you. The parking is definitely a negative. So manini the spaces. And theres not a lot of parking. And they always seem to mess up my order

2 stars cause I love Starbucks... missing the other 3 cause I dislike this location a lot. They almost never get my order right... they run out of stock on things like peppermint syrup - even during Christmas when it's a highly promoted drink... they are busy talking story behind the counter while I'm waiting... they take as long or longer to make a drink when I'm the only person in there... I could go on and on. They are slow, poor customer service, don't have good inventory and so forth. I only go here when I need to but only cause I like Starbucks.

I like coming here to do some work on my computer because it's not usually crowded. After their renovations, it's has become even more efficient for people coming alone to read or do work because they added more bench seating for solo customers. The store is well configured and designed, which makes it inviting. And there is no sunlight that really bothers any of the seating areas, which is important in HOT Hawaii. I do have to mention a horrible story with my order gone wrong. When I went though their drive through one time, they gave me a scone instead of the cake pop I ordered and the sticker on the paper bag even said, "cake pop." Plus, they also didn't add thai walls to my drink, as I ordered. I probably should have just taken the drink as-is. But I had them remake it. I figure I paid a lot for that dink and it should be as I ordered it. When they remade my drink, they didn't follow my original order and used regular milk instead of soy milk (I'm lactose intolerant). Grrr... I suffered for someone's inability to follow directions. It was probably the same guy who bagged a scone instead of the cake pop. Fortunately, they have never made any big mistakes with my order since that time, although they do still make the casual, smaller mistakes here and there. Luckily their employees are usually nice that it makes up for these simple mistakes.

Starbucks...do I even need to make a comment since everyone has been to a Starbucks sometime in there life. If you havent, then im assuming you are from a small town that doesnt have TV's. Just kidding On those days when Im lazy, I visit the Waipio location since its one of a few drive thru's on Oahu. Drive in and go....no hassles. My favorite drink of choice is a Quad Venti Non-Fat No Whip 1 Pump Mocha.

#97/365 I like that this starbucks is one of the few with a drive thru so thats always convenient. I've only actually went in a couple times and this recent time was 30 minutes before closing and the cold case was already cleaned of their food. On a saturday night it also wasnt crowded with college students so that was nice. The temperature also wasnt so bad compared to other starbucks, then again I didn't stay inside too long. Overall, drinks and food are the same nothing new.

"Would you think me weird If I gave a soliloquy to coffee Oh coffee, how I love thee You keep me warm When I am cool And you cool me off When I am hot You are sweet when I am sweet And you are bitter When I am not Oh coffee, how I love thee" -Trevor H. Circa 2009 This Starbucks happens to be my favorite. Perhaps its the drive-in, or the proximity to my home. It could be that my wife's cousin works here and always talks story with us. Or that all of the employees greet you with a smile. It could be any or all of these. Or it could simply be that this location has competent baristas who consistently brew a mean cup o joe. That is a rare, and joyous find for a Starbucks, my friends. Rare and joyous.

Ok I'm quickly becoming one of those ridiculous regulars at this starbucks. I come here pretty much everyday for my 2nd dose of caffeine in between my clinics during lunch and I use their comfy couch as a place to lounge, while I convince myself I'm studying, when I'm really zoning out or half asleep! They are a friendly crew, quick and always get my order right. The location has a fair amount of seating and a pretty clean bathroom too! The best part, the drive through!! I know i haven't used it yet, but I definitely like to know that theres the option of a quick caffeine dose if I'm running late.

Drive thru hot chocolate for the fam and a HOT brewed coffee for me. Ahhhh, now that is what heaven is like right? I say YES! No? Don't like Starbucks coffee? Say it is burnt? Then don't go to Starbucks! Make some space in the drive thru for me and can you please not complain to me about it when I am obviously sipping my coffee? Thank you. Ok, I am done now.... This one is very well situated by my daughter's dance classes, Costco, 2 relatives houses, and work. How can that be wrong? The only thing is that whomever designed that turn to get in to the drive thru must drive a Big Wheel (yea, you know the plastic one) cause that turn requires you to either be a expert drifter, own a Big Wheel, or make 10,000,000 back ups to make it in. Overall, no mix ups on coffees, always no problem with using our cards and even our iphones to pay, and quick/kind/friendly service. What more could you ask for right??? 098/365 hotcoffeebrewedgoodstuff yelp challenge (thanks for the catch Kalani....almost to 100!)

I stop here two (sometimes 3) times a week to get my fix. Even after my first visit one of the staff members knew what I ordered and started making it when I came in. When I go through the drive through they know what I want and even check to see if I am getting my kids their regular juice! Staff is aways friendly and nice, they all seem to WANT to be there. I have never had a bad experiance. Also have bandaids on site! My daughter fell trying to jump in a puddle in the parking lot and the manager had a huge box of them for her little scraped up knees. My favorite Starbucks on the island!

Absolutely love having a drive thru Starbucks! But this Starbucks always takes so long to make my drink. & all I get is a sweetened iced coffee with soy milk. & I have to say...they aren't very nice either. I'm a coffee addict so Starbucks is my crack house & I have been to many different locations. Waipio has the least friendly employees. Recently I was being over charged repeatedly so I asked the cashier when they started charging for the soy milk in my iced coffee. She said that's how she was taught, then insultingly asked me if I wanted my 60 cent's back. I told her no I didn't want my 60 cents back I just wanted them to be more consistent. I'll still keep going though because I'm an addict.

Another great Starbucks here in Hawaii. This location is tucked away near the Costco in Waipio Gentry. They have a great staff but the reason I hit this Starbucks is because it has a drive-thru which you don't find here on Oahu. Inside this location is small and seating is limited. Like I said if you need to buzz through on the way to work the drive-thru is the best thing about this location. Parking is a little cramped near the store and can be hard to navigate. I'd suggest parking a little ways from the store near Panda Express if you're planning on going inside.

This is my favorite Starbucks! Why, because it has a drive-thru!! Simply the best. Maybe because I'm just lazy. I don't care! I just want to be in and out and on my way. One day i lucked out and my order was FREE! because their computers went down. They saved to tell me the free part at the last window, when i handed them my card. That was a good day. When school is in session the 6am to 8am hours are the craziest. Everyone is trying to get their coffee on. My drink of choice is the Sweetened Black Iced Tea. Favorite!!

Every morning after I drop off my daughter to school I hit up their drive-thru before heading into work, such a convenience! Great way to start the day!

I like this Starbucks because it seems to be one of the less busy ones. Also, there is a drive thru as well. They also play the music at a lower volume so it makes for a good place for me to study. The only problem is some of the workers are really loud. Today I had a new worker so he took forever to take my order, but that happens sometimes. They were frendly and my turkey pesto was super big and super awesome. I love that stuff.

It's bad enough Starbucks increased their prices! But to leave the old prices on their drive thru menu board then have the nerve to tell me it's a mainland menu board and refuse to give me the lower price! Instead they said to order a smaller size drink to safe money! How arrogant of them! I'll never go there again!

This starbucks is busy with loud music. Not many outlets. I asked to use the restroom and it was DISGUSTING! Crap all over the toilet and floor. I left in disgust and told one of the workers. 40 minutes later I came back ... after having to find a clean restroom... and sat down to study. One of the workers told anther worker "when you get a chance, gotta clean the bathroom cuz it's pretty bad" It's disgusting to know that they KNEW about it and STILL hadnt cleaned it after 40 minutes. SICK. Not buying from here again.

This is one of the best starbucks by far on the island. From when you first walk through the door when you first enter, till the time you exit the door. It feels like your at home. They truly make it feel like this place is your "Third place." When you walk through the door they greet you with a, "hello!" and they always make great eye contact with you. 9 out of 10 they get my drinks correct. The other 10% I can turn the other way for them since they get it right 90% of the time. AWESOMEEEEEEE CREWWW I must say!

I normally don't review such a large chain since there are Starbucks EVERYWHERE. Even drank it in Japan, Australia, and the first Starbucks in Seattle. But anyways, the coffee is all the same. The smiley and totally helpful service is the same. But this one is a drive thru. Major awesomeness on my radar especially since it leads right to the freeway. Thank you Starbucks for adding to our society's laziness, obesity, and impatience. Aloha.

I usually don't go to Starbucks, but because I was early for a doctor's appointment I stopped here to pick up a hot chocolate. This is the one near the Costco Waipio with the drive through. I really wanted to just sit in my car and try out the drive through, but the line was kind of long and I noticed that not many people were inside. So I parked and went it. It is a bit smaller than a lot of the other starbucks and the parking is kind of bad. I think I got my drink faster than the people that were in the drive through. Hot chocolate was good, but It would be kind of hard for them to screw up a hot chocolate.

This Starbucks gets 4 stars because of the sole fact that they have a drive-thru. The service is pretty fast and it's great when I give in to my caffeine craving before heading to work.

Gotta stop in for my venti soy no whip mocha...plus I had a gift card to use :) Another perk: free wifi, drive-thru is quick, friendly service. I don't mind that the space is smaller then other locations cause the layout of the seatings are good. I'm not sitting right next to anyone else like at Ward or Waikele. Here, I can actually find a seat with an outlet to use for my computer, free wifi, hangout, listen to music, have great coffee, maybe a panini, and work all at one place.

For me, it's all about the drive through! Who knew? It's definitely not a Starbucks that I would go to for the Starbucks experience - it's way too small. But for that morning fix on the way to work it does the job just fine, saving me the hassle of finding parking and standing in line. I can do that at any of the other Starbucks locations.

This starbucks is awesome! The drive thru is fast and the employees are very courteous! They always make the drinks like how I want them, and its not different all the time like some places. I always get a triple grande nonfat thai and when I get it from here it always is made the way I like it!
