My favorite place on the south shore. Good consistent product. Friendly staff and Kama'aina prices.

The coffee was delicious and the nutty Hawaiian is the best drink on the menu! The boy with the ostrich haircut was a great barista! He said his name was Aaron. More tips for Aaron!

Awesome coffee, espressos made to order. Greats baristas and friendly staff. 4 stars as its a little on the $$$ side.

I loved their coffee while staying in Wailea. The coffee was smooth, dark and not bitter at all. The only thing I was disappointed with was the inability to buy the coffee they serve their drinks with. The closest they sell was the Honolulu Blend which I bought for the condo we were staying at on the other side of the island. Even in the drip coffee maker the coffee was delicious. Highly recommended checking out the coffee shop if you're in the Wailea area and looking for a great cup of coffee. A bonus is their hours.

Excellent espresso and first rate cappuccinos! How people can line up out the door at the big chain across the street for inferior coffee is a perfect example of how Americans have become brainless sheep following the herd.

Arrived at 8:00 a.m. and there was no one in there. Friendly barista took our order and we quickly had our lattés and two scones. The lemon/ginger scone was pretty good. Right after we arrived, three groups of people came in. As there was only one person working, they had a bit of a wait. Will return, as it is in the Shops at Wailea, very close to where we are staying. Recommend.

Best coffee place in Wailea. Had the Macadamian Nut Latte, which was delicious. We walked from the Four Seasons a couple of times, which takes about 15 minutes each way. Worth the hike, as the coffee at the Four Seasons sucked. I live in Minneapolis, which has awesome coffee shops. Honolulu Coffee was average compared to Minneapolis places, but the best we found on Maui.

I love my coffee, I mean, I really do. I try not to drink to much of it, but I'm the type to wake up early just so I can really sit and enjoy a cup before work. Unlike most, I drink coffee because I enjoy the taste of it, the fact that its caffeinated is really just a bonus. I came here today for the first time and had my absolute favorite beverage, an iced Americano. Usually when I get something like this at Starbucks its a hit or miss. Sometimes the beans taste old (bland), other times over roasted (super bitter), but this was literally the best Americano I've ever had. It was smooth, not too watery, and was just plain tasty. As for the service, I got my drink in less than 5 minutes even though there was a line, which surprised me. Most of the staff was smiling when I walked in, and there was A LOT of space, so that was also nice. So tired of being crammed in a tiny shop for a decent beverage. This place is a little pricey to some, but from what I understand the majority of the products are local, which I think is worth paying a little more for since I live and work on the island.

Every time we're in Hawaii we have our early morning coffee here. A delicious selection of baked good awaits you too. If you love a filling healthy option try the acai bowl-yum. The location is perfect and depending on what time of the year you go it's pretty quiet. The staff are pretty laid back which is a delight to see in the Rodeo drive of Maui. If you ever make it out to Hawaii pop by at any location.

Service sucks at this location. The girl working this morning was unpleasant, short, and just sort of rude. She also doesn't know how to smile back at folks that smile at her. I can't stand a place that sells 100% Kona French press and then when you ask for it they say "The Kona drip is the same thing you want that?" That is utter laziness. First, just give me what I asked for. Second, kona drip is usually a BLEND. Third, French pressed coffee always tastes smoother. Fourth, don't be a lazy a$$. Coffee in Hawaii isn't cheap so put a smile on your face and be grateful for an EASY JOB. Everytime I asked her something, she gave this look like she didn't understand. She would be silent for a few seconds and then respond back with something smart. I wouldn't go back here because of the service. You only get one chance and I'll gladly spend my money elsewhere.

I'm giving this simple little coffeehouse 4 stars because it really delivers on the coffee front. We come to Wailea every year and this place always felt a little chain-ish to me, like a local version of Starbucks. But about four years ago, we gave it a shot and we generally hit Honolulu before heading out for snorkeling runs. Very solid espresso. The pastries are also pretty good, although the selection is a bit light. And as a side oddity, they sell this kona bbq rub that is off the charts on steak. I stock up on a new can every year. Not really a hang-out place, but if you're at the Shops at Wailea and need a tasty latte or cappuccino, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Justin, Chris and Dan are the best at serving the best coffee on Maui!!! Don't settle for any other coffee!!!

The nutty hawaiian and caramella Kona frost are delicious. It's a bit expensive but the drinks are delicious, much better than Starbucks!

This coffee shop is surrounded by high end stores. Pretty much next to a Louis Vuitton. It has a couple of seating inside and a few outside. Soo quite and spacious. They make really good smoothies. I had the Waikiki Smoothie. $6.95. It's blueberry, banana and something else. Good for a relaxing moment and a beak from the heat outside.

  • Enrique G.

Coffee is a bit bitter and certainly pricey. Of courde there is nothing else there except for a franchise store in the same shopping center so you are stuck. It's just ok, no special deal here. Good Enough for your mornimg Joe.

First time here and loved the nutty Hawaiian late on ice . My daughter had the acai bowl and it was yummy. Thank you Honolulu Coffee!

The best coffee I've found in Wailea so far. My first introduction to Honolulu Coffee Company was in Waikiki a year or so ago. It was the closest thing to Hawaiian coffee (and Starbucks) that I could find in a short walk from our resort. It didn't win my heart, though, because in many ways it was indistinguishable from a tropically branded Starbucks, and it sadly specializes in a Kona blend, not the real 100% deal. The real stuff is expensive (partially credited to American wage and labor laws), I get that. I also WANT it, regardless of the price. To say the least, I was skeptical, especially in a mall - but I have been charmed. I came here with my son in the morning, and the tattooed, commanding barista behind the counter was IN CONTROL. I could tell she suffered no fools, which is frankly, my type of gal. I ordered my drink and pastry, and she was prompt, efficient, and clear getting my order to me, and getting me through the line. She was also very, very cool. I liked her style, because it seems like she really cares about the quality of the product, and delivering it efficiently during a morning rush. While admittedly, there are other places I'd prefer to get my coffee in the area, this is the best place to go within walking distance of the Wailea resorts.

Nice clean coffee shop, I'm pretty picky on coffee (I'm from the Pacific NW) and they have some delicious coffee! They were also moving through customers pretty quickly too so it seemed to be well managed and properly staffed. I drink Americano's with cream, so I can't comment on any of their more flavored drinks, but the coffee is excellent. They pulled the shots perfectly and you could really taste the excellent flavor of their coffee beans. I'd stop by if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed.

  • Scott C.

Nice, clean island chain coffee shop at the top of the Shops At Wailea. The bar was well staffed and my iced Americano was finished quickly. It seems to be more expensive than the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Company also in the same center, but the expresso is smoother and less acidic. They also sell several kinds of roasted island beans, if you want to take some home with you.

  • Mike M.

Our experience has always been good here, never had a very long wait and the nutty hawaiian is to die for, we stop here several times a month when we are on island.

  • Lindsay Z.

Iced coffee was DELICIOUS this past week. We came in a couple of times during our stay, and while it was always good, some days it was better than others. Saturday mornings were the best, maybe whoever makes it on Friday nights just knows their stuff better? Despite the long lines of Christmas week in Maui, service was friendly and got people's orders done as quick as they could. Still confused as to why the blended drinks (coffee and smoothies) are over $6? If those prices come down maybe they'll get that fifth star from me.

  • Rachel H.

We frequented this place while in Wailea for a week recently. The espresso drinks are delicious and the brewed coffee is also great. Staff is super friendly, the place is clean and they have a nice variety of snacks to choose from.

  • Robyn R.

This place is genius: superb coffee, lovely products, and sweet baristas. Rarely do I splurge on coffee this pricey, but when I do, it's worth every sip. Their outdoor seating is quite nice as well. Try their breve latte--it'll get you going, day or night.

  • Megan B.

I ordered an iced nutty Hawaiian latte and it was really good! The prices are just a little high, it was more expensive than starbucks. The coffee was delicious though!

Best ice blended coffee I have ever had. Its expensive but worth it. I ordered a large nutty hawaiian ice blended coffee for almost $7

    (5)
  • Michael M.

Try the hawaiian nut latte. Delicious. Friendly staff. Not much seating tho. Average prices. If you're visiting hawaii try them, do not stick with what you know (I.e starbucks) Not sure about free wifi (didn't see a sign for it)

  • Ramsha B.

The only reason I wanted wanted to try out this place was because I wanted to taste Hawaiian coffee. I had their nutty Hawaiian with whip cream. It was really good! I loved how it tasted. It also has a nice location near the shops so perfect place to chill after you're done with shopping. The price is more less like Starbucks. The server was friendly but a little clueless about their drinks. Some flying bug ended up in my husbands coffee as soon as we sat there to enjoy it but they instantly made a new one for him. Good stuff.

  • Jackie B.

This place is just okay. I love a great cup of coffee. My boyfriend makes me a pour over most mornings before work. This place really wasn't my favorite. The staff seemed like they just wanted to get as many people in and out as possible, as opposed to caring about their work. We got a specialty French press to drink on the beach. Ok but could do better. Many local (to hawaii) beans to chose from.

    (3)
  • Kenzie P.

There are much better places to get breakfast! I was not impressed with the acai bowl at all. It was runny and did not have a lot of fruit at the top. The scones were good, but I would not get a bowl from this place, as it is not worth the $10.

    (2)
  • S L.

This place was recommended to me as a best coffee place on the island, and I agree that it is the best. Baristas really know what they are doing. You will always get a latte with a beautiful latte art, which shows a perfect milk consistency and a barista's skill. Coffee beans are fresh and not burned, very mild, there is no bitter aftertaste. If you ordering a large latte you might want to get a double espresso shot in it, at least I found it to be the best combination. They sell a roasted coffee beans as well, with all packages have a roasting date on it - if you are serious about your coffee, you know what I am talking about (no "good until next year" funk here).

I really enjoyed Honolulu coffee- staff were phenomenal~ very friendly... My acai bowl was made so meticulously, it was actually kindof cute to watch the teenage boy do it with so much care. The bowl tasted AMAZING and my soy latte was good, made with a real espresso machine (ie no button push espresso), and kona coffee.

We have been coming here 7 days in a row and have 3 more days to go on our trip here. Great iced and hot mochas, lattes, croissants, ham and cheese croissant $5.95 and blueberry scones $3.50. They have lots of seating outside. It is located at the shops at Wailea. Sunday's are much busier than during the week. They do open at 8am.

I am not a coffe person but every time I come to Maui I have tot have this coffee:)) so good!!!!!!! Dont miss it if you are around... It's a good taste of the island... part of it

  • Peter N.

Only had the brew coffee, but it tastes great. Had the lava roast, which is the dark roast. A bit pricey ($3.75 for a 16 oz), but I enjoyed every last drop. The wifi there is free and is way faster than my resort's connection! Would definitely come back again.

  • Sue C.

They ran out of bananas, so I was asked if was okay to top my acai bowl with extra granola instead. It sounded okay, but while eating it the granola soaked up all the acai and ruined the experience.

Visited here 2 days in a row for espresso drinks. Same super friendly, but low-key guy helped us each day. Great espresso drinks -- latte art on the super-smooth latte, and a soy mocha that was perfection in a paper cup. If you don't care for $tarbuck$ super-sweetened, over-sugared drinks, which obviously I don't, give this place a whirl. High quality all around, from the service, to the espresso drinks, to the relaxing back patio.

I stopped in here as I wanted to pick up some Hawaiian coffee for my mom who absolutely loves coffee from Hawaii. I picked up 2 different kinds. Since I am not much of a coffee fan, I decided to buy a few other items for myself such as Pineapple jam and Coconut Strips. I don't know what they are officially called but the coconut strips are to die for. I only bought one container and they were amazing. I wish I would have bought more. I even checked online thinking I could order it and have it shipped to me and it isn't on their site! Whatever it is....it's a must to try and get! The guy working in the shop was very friendly as well.

Excellent customer experience! The service was friendly & it felt like a neighborhood coffee shop despite its location in an upscale shopping center. I had a cold brew coffee. Great flavor, not too acidic.

Best coffee in Wailea! My wife and I found this place after going to Coffee Bean (big mistake). Unfortunately it was during the tail end of our honeymoon. Espresso and coffee were very smooth. Nicole, the barista, was VERY knowledgeable about the coffee. You could tell she had a real passion for her craft. She was also very friendly, along with the other barista, Daniel. We hope to visit them again some time in the future!

Good coffee, good people great substitute for starbucks when you are here. their coffee is actually BETTER than Starbucks! Their snacks look great, but were all dry. I've made this a regular place for us when we are in Wailea

Wow. I am embarrassed by how rude the cashier was today. My mom and I went in and ordered and Lemon Blueberry muffin (not great) and a Morning Bun. The cashier did not greet us or ask if we wanted our food warmed up, so I asked if they could be heated and she replied, "Oh." Then after ringing us up, she handed our credit card back without saying thank you or anything for that matter, and proceeded to talk to her friend in line behind us. Even though the Nutty Latte was tasty, it is not worth ever going back to this place.

These folks have a real espresso machine -- not the all-in-one, press-a-button-and-it's-done nonsense at *bucks -- and the resulting espresso is smooth and not bitter. My Americano with a little agave nectar -- though not the stuff of legend -- was perfectly satisfying. And the service I received -- unlike, apparently, everyone else -- was exceedingly courteous. I'll go back. Spoiler alert: The Americano is the same price as the brewed coffee ($3.50 for a large). Did somebody goof?

  • Erin S.

One of the few places that we've found so far with decent espresso. Coffee is good, though pricey, and I appreciate that they are open early! Staff is friendly. Kona is not as good as stuff we had on Big Island, but still a strong effort. My go-to coffee shop in Wailea

    (4)
  • Terry K.

Everyone's reviews are so honest and true. The staff there definitely aren't friendly and they don't smile, which was so weird to me because almost everyone else who worked in food service in Maui smiled and they were insanely friendly and helpful. Perhaps they get too many bougie tourists? This place is a little expensive and I was eh about it when I went ( I was in Maui for 5 days), but THEN I tried the Nutty Hawaiian Latte! It is flavored with coconut, chocolate, and hazelnut, I believe, and it is so so delicious! I had to go back every morning and even went in the evening for it when I missed a morning for snorkeling. I have even recreated it using my syrups and espresso machine at work. I am obsessed with that flavor! So, well done with the Kona coffees and the Nutty Hawaiian, Honolulu Coffee Co.!!

  • Jack L.

This place is very close to all the Wailea resorts, so it looked like a sure bet. I thought it may be cheaper and have better coffee than the resorts. The staff is very rude and unacalmadating. They act like it's a huge deal to help customers. I attempted to order the Acai Fruit Bowl. The cashier said they were out of bananas in a really short and rude tone. I gave the place 3 stars for the coffee. It is pretty good. Definitely a notch above the resort coffee. So if you can put up with the service, it's a good place. But nothing sensational or really good. Note: The Honolulu location had impeccable service and coffee, so I was very disappointed with this location.

I'm not a coffee drinker but I did enjoy a green tea and a nutella crossiant on the way to the beach early in the morning. This location was convenient to our vacay home in Makena Landing and the staff were super nice.

The only coffee place in Wailea Mall, but luckily it has excellent coffee. There are lots of upscale stores in the Shops at Wailea mall, but some of us (typically of the male gender) would prefer a good cup of Java. Honolulu Coffee is a friendly little place surrounded by expensive boutiques. I enjoyed a great cup of 100% Kona while the Mrs. worked her way through the stores. Outside tables too.

    (4)
  • Chelsey G.

3 1/2 TO 4 STARS. Staff is super friendly, coffee is good and strong, nice tables to chill and enjoy. Plus free refills rule. Just wish they did the individual drip for S and M sizes too.

  • Tam F.

Decent coffee in an upscale location. There is basically nothing in this area to compete with, so this place is hopping. I had a basic drip coffee-it was nice and strong and fresh. No Splenda to be had so I had to make due with the old fashioned pink packet. The man had a piece of banana bread and then declared we should go back to the place on the Road to Hana to get "real banana bread". All in all, a good place to stop for my caffeine fix.

    (3)
  • Jaimie L.

The place was cute and had a lot of unique drinking options. The customer service is what killed the experience. HIRE PEOPLE THAT CAN GREET AND SMILE!

$4.50 for a small (~6oz) latte. Way too sweet. The Lappert's Ice Cream shop in the same mall serves coffee too - I'd probably try there next time.

Hmmm...can't figure out what anyone is talking about on these reviews. Our service was from Casey two days in a row and wow! I would like to bring him back to the mainland and hire him in my customer service business! We walked over there from the Grand Wailea two days for coffee, once in the afternoon and once at 6:30 in the morning before breakfast was served at the resort. We wanted to take some coffee beans home with us as well as have a cup of coffee. He was so helpful and after we explained what type of coffee we liked he said that the one they were brewing that particular day would not suit our taste but if we would come back the next day they would be brewing one that we would really like. He took the time to explain the different Hawaiian coffees and was SO knowledgable. He really loves coffee and told us that he would like to travel to the mainland to some different "coffee" cities just to be able to expore their coffee. He is a true coffee connoisseur and takes knowing coffee very seriously, even though he really isn't very old! Great to see someone with such a passion! Just as he predicted we didn't like the particular brew the first day as it was more acidic than we like, but the one he had the second day was amazing and we bought a bag of the beans to take home. A little pricey, but hey, you can't buy it back on the mainland and it was a special brew. So, if you see Casey working there you won't have bad service. To Ed, the owner, who we found out was from KC, don't let Casey get away! He is a gem and definitely knows his coffe and knows how to provide excellent service. He will keep your customers happy!

    (5)
  • Des D.

Nicest cup of coffee/cappuccino you will get locally. They have a rewards card for purchases for those that find themselves here at least a couple of times. Staff are very nice, shop has two tables inside and a few outside.

  • Michelle S.

We love this coffee shop - we walked over every single day from the Grand Wailea for breakfast - the Nutty Latte is to die for, iced or hot, and the ham and cheese croissant, apricot croissant, chocolate croissant, and macadamia muffin are all very tasty. We found the service to be friendly and warm. When our toddler ran out of milk in her bottle, the staff happily refilled it. We took plenty of coffee home to the mainland, we were really impressed with the flavor of the Kona. Can't wait to come back!

    (5)
  • Yongling L.

Great Coffee! However, (1) one should never buy their coffee beans. The $39 lb. coffee I bought from them has no coffee aroma and tastes funny. Obviously it's been sitting on the shelf for a long time! (2) the staff in this particular shop (NOT the one in Waikiki) needs to learn to have a bit professionalism. At least not just chatting and flirting among themselves while customers lining up to buy their coffee.

  • brad m.

Yesterday, had a fantastic latte made by a lady in her early to mid thirties. Perfect balance, pulled shot and presentation. This morning, a younger dude in his mid twenties - couldn't have cared less. Scalded milk, burned flavor. If you need to hand me the coffee in two cups because it's too hot, you're doing it wrong.

I love the service and staff, who always so positive and give great service. Not to mention their fresh brewed coffee is a treat in the morning. I work at the Wailea Group real estate office, so I am a regular. Never disappointed.

Best latte in the Wailea area. Located in the back of a small upscale mall, Honolulu Coffee Co. puts out a great shot of espresso. It holds up well against the steamed milk but is also tame enough to not be too bitter when served cold. Good selection of baked goods and small batch Maui sodas.

  • Lisa L.

We just returned from the Honolulu Coffee Company in Wailea and would never recommend this place unless you have at least 20 minutes to wait for an Iced Mocha. It is the slowest service EVER. So after 15 minutes I went back up to ask about my Iced Mocha and the girl looked at me like she had never seen me before. I told her I would be happy to cancel and have my money back, then the older guy behind the counter says: I'm just making it right now. 5 more minutes and no apology. Starbucks is waaaay faster and better.

    (1)
  • Dean Y.

the coffee is double price then your local starbucks and the lattes take forever for them to make- 15 mins!!! You can walk the mall and still wait. I would definitely go find a starbucks but if you cannot then this is the only place to go.

    (3)
  • Shal J.

The coffee here is fantastic!!! The Kona blend is nice and strong. I had a double latte with a shot of macadamia nut syrup (hangin with the locals). It was really good. I craved it again and again during my stay! You might not like it if you're a Starbucks fan, since this coffee actually tastes like coffee. FYI, they don't take credit cards.

This place was a real find in and amongst the plastic-fantastic shops in the "Shops At Wailea" complex (who goes to *Maui* to buy Luis Vituon anyway?) The espresso are made with Kona (Hawaiian) coffee and tasted really smooth. Like a previous reviewer, I craved for more of this coffee throughout my stay but sadly we were not staying in this part of the island. I had an iced espresso, double shot of course, with Soy (yeah, they do soy milk too!) and a splash of sugar water. Divine. I'd recommend buying some of their "Kona Fancy" blend to take home too, although it's $13 for 1/2 lb. The music they were playing when I visited, some kind of crappy punk rock was really jarring, and they would have lost a star from me if it wasn't for the fact that I was in **Maui** and so you don't drink the coffee indoors, do you!?!?!?! Being outside meant the cruddy music didn't matter.

To Ed, the owner, who we found out was from KC, don't let Casey get away! He is a gem and definitely knows his coffe and knows how to provide excellent service. He will keep your customers happy!

Nicest cup of coffee/cappuccino you will get locally. They have a rewards card for purchases for those that find themselves here at least a couple of times. Staff are very nice, shop has two tables inside and a few outside.

We had a coffee need while we were shopping. It was very clean and the coffee was good. The service was ok. Nothing sensational. Great place to pick up a cup of joe when doing shopping in Wailea.

I really liked the Nutty Hawaiian blended drink. It was really good. It was pretty expensive though. $6 for a large.

Came to this place for the coffee and primarily the coffee. Best coffee we have ever had, hands down. The cashier was super sweet and friendly. Made sure to go out of our way to come back here again before we left the island.

Better than eating the $34 continental breakfast at the hotel. 3 stale muffins and 3 coffees for $14. Not bad :)

This place is genius: superb coffee, lovely products, and sweet baristas. Rarely do I splurge on coffee this pricey, but when I do, it's worth every sip. Their outdoor seating is quite nice as well. Try their breve latte--it'll get you going, day or night.

Try the hawaiian nut latte. Delicious. Friendly staff. Not much seating tho. Average prices. If you're visiting hawaii try them, do not stick with what you know (I.e starbucks) Not sure about free wifi (didn't see a sign for it)

  • lucinda k.

Only had the brew coffee, but it tastes great. Had the lava roast, which is the dark roast. A bit pricey ($3.75 for a 16 oz), but I enjoyed every last drop. The wifi there is free and is way faster than my resort's connection! Would definitely come back again.

  • Jenell C.

Excellent customer experience! The service was friendly & it felt like a neighborhood coffee shop despite its location in an upscale shopping center. I had a cold brew coffee. Great flavor, not too acidic.

    (4)
  • Sophia W.

Only had the brew coffee, but it tastes great. Had the lava roast, which is the dark roast. A bit pricey ($3.75 for a 16 oz), but I enjoyed every last drop. The wifi there is free and is way faster than my resort's connection! Would definitely come back again.

The coffee was delicious and the nutty Hawaiian is the best drink on the menu! The boy with the ostrich haircut was a great barista! He said his name was Aaron. More tips for Aaron!

Excellent customer experience! The service was friendly & it felt like a neighborhood coffee shop despite its location in an upscale shopping center. I had a cold brew coffee. Great flavor, not too acidic.

Our experience has always been good here, never had a very long wait and the nutty hawaiian is to die for, we stop here several times a month when we are on island.

We frequented this place while in Wailea for a week recently. The espresso drinks are delicious and the brewed coffee is also great. Staff is super friendly, the place is clean and they have a nice variety of snacks to choose from.

One of the few places that we've found so far with decent espresso. Coffee is good, though pricey, and I appreciate that they are open early! Staff is friendly. Kona is not as good as stuff we had on Big Island, but still a strong effort. My go-to coffee shop in Wailea

  • Sophia W.

Good coffee, good people great substitute for starbucks when you are here. their coffee is actually BETTER than Starbucks! Their snacks look great, but were all dry. I've made this a regular place for us when we are in Wailea

3 1/2 TO 4 STARS. Staff is super friendly, coffee is good and strong, nice tables to chill and enjoy. Plus free refills rule. Just wish they did the individual drip for S and M sizes too.

Nicest cup of coffee/cappuccino you will get locally. They have a rewards card for purchases for those that find themselves here at least a couple of times. Staff are very nice, shop has two tables inside and a few outside.

We had a coffee need while we were shopping. It was very clean and the coffee was good. The service was ok. Nothing sensational. Great place to pick up a cup of joe when doing shopping in Wailea.

  • Ben M.
