I'm sitting in this food establishment right now Yelping this review. First of all, don't come here if you're even remotely hungry. Or if you're looking for good service. You'll be sorely disappointed. We ordered a teri beef sandwich--it came with a three-inch in diameter bun and a very tiny amount of beef. The taste was okay but for $3.99 I'd rather go to L&L any day! The second order was a $6.15 mini grilled garlic mahi plate. The portion was--no surprise!--tiny and the presentation was, er, pretty disgusting. And the flavor,...I wish there was SOME kind of flavor to talk about. Put it this way, I didn't taste any garlic...and I hardly tasted--or saw--any fish, only a whole crapload of batter! Let's move on to the fabulous customer service we received. The guy at the counter just did a downright staredown at us and had a bit of an attitude. I don't know what his problem was but--whether he was talking about us to his giggling co-workers or not, I'm not sure--seemed to like continuing his stare our way even after we sat down. Real classy....and so is his snacking at the counter! And, oh yeah, a "thank you" would've been nice after we placed and paid for our order, too, dude. If you eatery's food is not even close to par, at least make it up a tiny bit with some personality. I am posting pictures because they probably will speak for themselves. The one star is for the $3.00 large fries we ordered. It came up hot and thankfully with a decent amount in the package. It was also the one redeeming part of our, um, meal...and the sole reason neither of us went away completely starving. Oh yeah, they had good AC. Yup, whoopty-doo, right?!

You know I ate at the Waipio Loco Moco years ago, and vowed never again. Last night my girl and I went to a movie so we decided to look for a place to eat in the town center. We wanted Korean, but Yummy was crowded; so went next door to Loco Moco. I wanna say that Loco Moco is to L&L, like K-Mart is to Walmat. In other words, Loco Moco is the ghetto, uglier plate lunch place than L&L. So my girl ordered the kalbi/meat jun mixed plate, and I had the chicken katsu curry. Moral of the story, next time, be patient and stick with your gut. Should've just waited for food at Yummy because this place is horrible. Everything about both of our plates SUCKED, except for the rice. The mac salad had absolutely no flavor, the kalbi was the worst I've ever tasted, the curry was disgusting, and the katsu was mushy (I am referring to the parts not covered by curry). The worst thing overall was the dipping sauce for the kalbi. Not sure whom came up with that concoction but that tasted like piss. And the icing on the cake was waiting 25 minutes for our food to be prepared; even watching others who came after us, get their plates before us. My suggestion, have more cooks in the back than people working the register. You have two girls standing around doing nothing. I hope my mind reminds me of this experience the next time I become desperate enough to consider eating here.

Delicious plate lunches. Pretty standard, good portions for the price. Friendly, fast service. They are located across from Just Tacos in the Town square.

The kids love the cheeseburger here. Sometimes a little cold inside. The food is good, recently had chicken Katsu curry, chili hamburger plate (chili is okay), and mixed plate with beef stew.

My friend and I come here when we need to get bubble drinks. Theyre not great, but theyre not terrible. Its just to hold us over until we can satisfy our cravings. We sometimes come to eat here as well. Just the other day we came and ordered 2 bubble drinks. There was 2 girls in the front. We ordered and sat at the two chairs in front of the register. The girl who rang us up started to make our drinks, while the other started touching the tip money and counting it. THEN she took down her hair right in the kitchen and out it back up in a bun. What shocked us is that she didnt even wash her hands.... working with food, we both know that you should always wash your hands when goimg from one activity to the next. . So gross. On the door, they passed the food safety inspection.

The food is great and I've been jere a few times. The girls behind the register messed up my order and didnt give me a receipt. All my fault for not insuring she got it right. I'll still come back and next time make sure my order is correct.

against my rules but, I guess today was not my day.... ....argh....had the sweet sour spare ribs....bugga was deep fried spare ribs that was tough as roofing shingles, couple bites and threw um out....and I don't ever throw away food. the sauce was ok....had nice big carrots that were cooked well.... But I ain't eating here ever again..... but now I know all the loco moco's not the same owner....argh..

This is one of those plate lunch places that offers exactly what you would expect...Grilled Mahi Plate, Garlic Shrimp Plate, Loco Moco...you get the vibe. Often times, one can walk in over the weekend and see collections of kids playing Magic the Gathering (does anyone still play that game?) and Yu Gi Oh...hahaha! Guess that given the Angry Birds mural that's underway, it definitely must be their "thang". Food is cheap and pretty decent too! One thing that I just have to have when I dine here is the pepto bismal pink salad dressing over the tossed garden salad. It's pretty darn good. Just not so sure about how or where it gets its' color from...but I know I have to have it!

We arrived as a big group of 20+ a little later than dinner time. The food was fresh since they had to make a big batch, and it was ready quickly. It was funny that we shut the store down because they had to tell the next person in line that they ran out of food and turned on the "closed" sign, so it was like we had our own little private dinner party in the small diner. The floor and tables were clean, and the food is your regular L&L type of food, however, they didn't have all the selections available for such a large crowd: Teriyaki Meat - 4 stars - looked a little burnt, but didn't taste burnt. Teriyaki sauce was marinated very well and flavorful. Mochiko chicken - 4 stars - deep fried, and since it just came out of the vat, it was crunchy and tasty. Hamburger steak - 3 stars - the kids liked it, and the brown sauce was just right. Chinese chicken salad - 3 stars - basic salad with teriyaki chicken. It was odd that the dressing was pink, but it tasted like your usual ranch or mayonnaise dressing. Garlic fries - 3 stars - right off the vat, fresh and tasty! Service - 4 stars - considering we just went there on the spur of the moment with 20+ people, they were accomodating and quick. The place was big enough to fit all of us, but tightly, so some of us sat outside on the concrete wall to eat and feel the wind blow on us, and when some of the kids were done, they were able to use their high energy outside of the restaurant with us to watch them.

I ordered the regular BBQ chicken, my usual. The reason I ordered it is because they give a lot and it should be enough for me and my daughter. As always, the flavor of the BBQ chicken is just as expected...good combination of sweet and salty. But something has changed with the texture and doneness. First of all, the texture was more stringy and it was almost all in pieces. And, it was over cooked. Not well done, but overly charred. I like my food with a good sear, but when you start tasting carbon, that is not good. We ate there around 1pm. School was out and the dine-in area was full. It seemed like everyone was talking loud. I was with my daughter so I was able to tune it all out. Most likely, I'll return to this place, but maybe in a couple of years after I've forgotten about this experience.

Food is okay but dont eat the fried chicken plate it was over cooked, dry, tasteless and you could tell it was cooked in old oil.

  • Vanessa B.

Ordered a mixed plate with loco moco and katsu chicken. I felt like they were running out of katsu sauce so watered it down to fill the cup. If that wasn't the reason well then that's the only reason I can think of to justify it's taste. The loco moco patty was soooo small that I couldn't help but laugh. I get it. In New York they've downsized on the soda. Are we downsizing on the loco moco patty in Hawaii?!?!

I recently transferred to working in the Mililani Town Center last year, but I have been a patron of Loco Moco Drive Inn since I could drive. I'm mostly there because of the price and convenience, but one item that is a must have is the Garlic Chicken. This is the most consistently delicious delight that never disappoints. The chicken is always crisp and the taste is just superb every time! Loco Moco is usually my go-to when I'm stumped with my food choices while on the job. Other plates to check out are the furikake mahi and the lemon chicken. The loco moco (which probably should be their signature dish because of its name) is average, but at least they make their own hamburger patties compared to some other restaurants I go to that use premade patties. All-in-all a great place for your plate lunch needs!

First off, service was bad. The girl at the register definitely had an attitude. I didn't even get a call that my order was ready. I turned around to see that a plastic bag was waiting on the counter while the girl just stood there. I was the only customer there so I assumed it was mine. So I went up and took the bag, said thank you but got no acknowledgment in return, not even a sign that she even noticed me there. Second bad thing, my food was burnt. I ordered the chicken katsu curry and the top row of katsu was burnt. And it wasn't the good-kind-add-a-little-crisp-to-your-food burnt, it was burnt-burnt. The pieces that weren't burnt were just okay, to say the least... Wouldn't recommend coming here. Try other places to eat while you're in Town Center.

This place has so many memories. Okay okay, I won't share any stories, but I remember Loco Moco has been here since I was in middle school (mid 90's)? A lot of my friends and I came often during the weekends. This establishment is a fusion of mostly local food ranging from bbq, Japanese food (katsu, etc.), Chinese-inspired (lemon chicken, noodle soup, etc.), American (cheeseburgers, etc.) amongst other local and common dishes. Mostly everything is deep-fried, but they have a HUGE menu. The one dish I loved from this place, was the lemon chicken. Golden deep-fried battered cooked to perfection with a side of tangy lemon sauce, macaroni salad, and rice. I also loved their breaded shrimp growing up. (I was a fatty, okay?) Their beef stews were good, but not the best. There's a little for everyone here, I think, maybe not for vegans and vegetarians, haha, but, if you're an omnivore, you'll definitely find something. The staff were always pretty nice for the most part, and the owners were such hard-working individuals, who always put a smile on my face--they strived to please their customers.

Their customer service stinks! They're not rude but at the same time they're not too friendly either. The food is okay though. It will have you feeling like caca afterwards because thats what most fast food does anyways. But my boys usually eat the hamburger and cheeseburger, by the way is nasty, I don't know why they like it. I will usually get some sort of chicken. The orange chicken stinks, its not really orange chicken, it just comes with a nasty orange sauce, same with the lemon chicken. Mac salad is okay tasting, rice is rice, fries are okay but the thing that made me wanting more was the kailua pork, it was bomb! But ever since they had that Friday special, I have yet to see it again. They usually have underdressed high school girls in there too working the register. Its a an okay little joint to catch a bite when you're waiting to catch a movie or something but its nothing to make a night out of. The napkins suck too, they're trash! They rip apart fast! But give it a try and create your own opinion.

This place is so-so all around. Service is nothing to brag about but the food is decent. Large menu of tupical plate lunches. The regular size is filling and the prices are decent. Their chicken katsu is pretty good and so is their teri beef. Good hangover food. Not the friendliest or fastest but all in all I will keep going here every once in a great while.

If you are expecting exceptional service and awesome food.... Loco Moco is NOT the place to go. The only thing about Loco Moc0 is that it's cheap. I got a breakfast plate of scramble eggs, rice and 3 slices of spam for $4.00... For the same meal at Zippy's, it would be over $7.00. The food and the service is mediocre. Also, don't look around the kitchen... You might lose your appetite. The kitchen is dirty and sometimes I wonder how they pass the food inspection! Anyway, point is... if you're poor, a college student or desperate... Loco Moco is the place is for you.

Food is very so-so. The service sucks and the prices are not the greatest. Came here with my friends one day to order shrimp curry and it took over 30 mins to prepare. While my friends were finished with their food I was just beginning. Do not recommend this place.

Food is okay... average plate lunch place. I don't eat here but my parents really like the furikake mahi and grilled BBQ chicken. I've tried both before... I've had better BBQ chicken and the mahi was not bad. The staff is ALWAYS friendly which is great. Prices are average for a plate lunch.

I ordered the lemon chicken. The chicken was over fried, very chewing, dry and rubbery! My husband ordered a mixed plate and his chicken was also hard and dry. Freezer burn/old meat or old oil perhaps. We will never go there again..

Happened to come across this Loco Moco by accident when exploring other food options within the Mililani Town Center, so I figured I'd give this place a try. Tried their garden burger (without the fries, however), and it was okay. Prices are fairly decent and so are their portions.

I ate here almost 20 years and brought my husband back here during our vacation today. And the local food still taste the best. We has deep fried shrimp, BBQ chicken and BBQ chicken. If you are looking for real Hawaiian food, you will be pleased; my husband was.

    (5)
  • Derek B.

Not bad. I grabbed the mixed bbq meat plate and it was pretty decent. Mac salad was good, rice was good, most of the meat was ok. Kalbi was a little over cooked but the bbq chicken was great. Little pricey for what you get and the service was a bit lacking....they forgot to cook my order until I came up and asked why it was taking so long.
