This cafe was a great find, just off Front St., tucked in on a side street. I originally came in search of a smoothie and now I've been back several times. They have a great menu if you're looking for coffee, smoothie, a light lunch or a snack. I've had several smoothies which are made fresh to order. They have great options that you can customize a little. I've also had an acai bowl here a few times which I absolutely love. The superfoods bowl is my fav! For coffee, I believe their beans are local (from Hawaii). I usually stick with a cold brew that comes with coffee ice cubes. They do have many options for speciality coffee drinks, both hot and cold. They are open air so sometimes it gets kinda warm. But generally between the winds and breeze from fans it's pretty comfortable in the shade. They do offer wifi, if you ask. Most of the time the service is friendly, but sometimes the aloha vibe is missing. However, I've always had stellar coffee and smoothies/bowls so that's what keeps me coming back. They also rent Vespa scooters. I see a lot of people come in specifically for this. But I don't know anything about it.

Awesome bagel and we enjoyed acai bowl. Coffee was very good. We got the veggie bagel and shared it.

Great Acai superfood bowl. Yes I said an Acai bowl in Hi who would think but very tasty never had the goji berry they were good. Split a veggie style bagel with my hubby and it was so good. We thought we ordered too much food but ate every bite I didn't even wait to take the picture the coffee is strong but very good.

Cafe Cafe is located right off the Front Street and offers a local feel like no other. The inside is very relaxing, open air that flows right into the patio seating through the French doors. Even though open to the outside, the air conditioning provides enough cooling assisted by fans and ocean breeze. The staff is very friendly and pleasant. The customers tend to be locals, which adds to the island feel. The places focuses on healthy and quality ingredients including Acai bowls and variety of other fruit bowls and smoothies. If you prefer something with eggs, they offer croissants, bagels and organic scrambled egg plates using organic eggs. I had the Bacon, Egg and American Cheese Croissant. It was delicious with the bacon being crisp and eggs being fluffy. The melted cheese finished it all off. The only thing that could be improved is the plating, being paper, wish it matched the ceramic glassware that beverages are served in. However, talking to the staff, they were forced to switch from ceramic plates to paper, as they do not have a grease catcher installed, which is very expensive and required by law. Since they don't serve high quantity of food this makes no sense and only created more trash. The coffee products are award winning and very delicious. I had my usual Americano, which was made using the Award Winning Maui Red Catuai. It's a dark roast that has a lovely balanced robustness; even my Americano had a nice crema, indicating perfection. This bean was award a Top Finalist Award at the 2014 Hawaii Annual Coffee Cupping Competition. Enough said... They also rent Vespas and scooters that you can ride into the sunset with!

Delicious coffee! Their food such as bagel sandwiches and yogurt granola bowls look great. Wish we had come hungry. I bought 4 bags of coffee to take home as gifts and for myself. Definitely the best coffee I've had on Maui.

We walked by Cafe Cafe countless times. It's deceptive. The deception is owed to the Vespas parked in front that's for rent. It's the same place if you're looking to rent Vespas. There is a beautiful Harley that's for sale as well. Open, airy, cool music. Awesome staff. Great Acai bowl. I had the Acai Superfoods Bowl which is vegan friendly. It's super thick smoothie of acai, blueberries, strawberry, kale, spinach, banana and coconut water, topped with granola and sliced bananas, papaya and Gojie berries served in a bowl. $8.75. You can add vegan raw, superfood greens Powder or Protein Powder for $1.50. We noticed that they served our food in paper plates and plastic containers. Curious minds tend to ask and the answer was simple. It's simple economics. The rule makers wanted an oil catcher that cost $30,000 installed if you're washing dishes. Self explanatory. I get it. There's plenty to eat and drink here. Bagels, croissant, eggs and greens and grains bowl. Fresh fruit and superfood smoothies. Two female servers that are warm and friendly. Fast service. Local customers mostly and occasional tourist from Front street which is just a few feet away.

Fresh food with a fresh atmosphere. They're big on sustainability if that's your thing. It made for a nice light lunch when we knew we had heavier dinner plans that night. I'd say it's more $$ than $ though, considering the amount of food you get for the $. It was too hot to try the coffee but it certainly looked and smelled good. Their smoothies were a little more juice than fruit and weren't as tasty as the food. I certainly wouldn't go back for them. Overall it's an interesting place with a a good, kitschy atmosphere. I'd say 4.5 stars for the food and 3 for the smoothies.

This is the real deal. Fresh roasted local coffee with pour over available. I had the Maui Mokka "Whales Tales" and the Maui Red Catuai "King K's Kope Roast" both of which are local award winning roasts. Very impressive and I recommend trying both with a pour over brew. They have a strong focus on fresh/raw food. I only tried the coffee. You can join their coffee club. They roast twice a week. If I were to open a coffee shop it would look a lot like this one.

Healthy and yummy! I eat Paniolo and Acia Supfood Bowl! This place has Hawaiian Style and very good atmosphere. I recommend.

  • Annie Z.

I probably ate $100 worth of acai bowls while I was in hawaii. The one at cafe cafe was probably the smallest, the most expensive, and the worst. Even at the worst, I still liked the acai bowl. However, I'd highly recommend you get these elsewhere. :)

Amazing. So healthy and delish! This is an excellent addition to Front Street eating. Menu is healthy with great coffee/latte and smoothie options (think shots of wheat germ and antioxidants). Fresh local ingredients in small open air cafe. Seating inside and out with free wifi. The kind of place that evokes a " I can't wait to come back and try ...xxx" after you take your first bite. Simple appearing food with complex flavors that will knock your socks off. Unassuming looking place but worth the block off Front street without a doubt!

So we came here twice on our vacation. The first trip was to try their acai bowl and had a light lunch. The acai was only ok. We tried two other places before here and I would say this was my least favorite. It was smaller in size and the acai was very minimal and wasn't cold enough. The quinoa and local greens bowl was good but didn't blow us away. It's nice and healthy and a decent amount. But nothing I need to come back for. So why did we come back here again? It's because they claim they have one of the best coffee in Maui. So we stopped by here for my bf's morning coffee. What was the verdict. From him (I don't drink coffee). He ordered a double shot Americano and he really liked it! So anyone who needs coffee this will be a good place to go to! Coffee was $2.85. So before I forget. We also got their plain banana bread cuz again they claim it's the best. For $3.50. We wanted to try it as we will be going to road to Hana and we heard they have amazing banana bread there too. The banana bread was nice and soft. Good amount of banana taste and doesn't seem like there's a lot of crap ingredients to intensify the texture of flavor. Overall cute coffee shop right by front street. Check it out if u are around.

Such a cool spot! Feels like a cafe you might stumble upon in Greece or Italy, but with an island vibe. Great coffee, snacks, acai bowls, and awesome service.

  • Jimmy W.

Deliciously fresh fruit bowls for the health conscious. Looking forward to try the coffee next time. Great open concept patio for catching some sun as well.

  • Latosha F.

Excellent coffee, food, and service. We had scrambled egg plates, acai bowl, and coffee. Eggs and toast were delicious. Quality food. Great coffee! Just a tad bit pricey but worth it. No bathrooms. Small, congested seating.

Went to Café Café for breakfast, I was interested in trying their smoothies. The one I wanted to try was the Green God/goddess. If you're looking for a fruity sweet smoothie this isn't the one for you. It was the perfect smoothie for me however. Totally what I was looking for. I liked that it was on the more savory side and I could taste the ginger in it. It was almost like having a salad smoothie! Went there on a Saturday morning around 8:30 and it was pretty empty, I was shocked that I found street parking right across the place. Not having to hunt around for parking made it a pleasant experience!

Great breakfast place. Acai bowl, awesome! Good service, great prices and healthy choices! No frills but way better than hotel options for low key experience.

So in love with this place! This is hands down the best coffee shop in Lahaina town. From their relaxing music, amazing acai bowls, and delicious coconut lattes, I swear I could spend an entire day here. With the retro style Vespas hanging out right outside the shop, and the breeze coming in from Front St. the atmosphere is just perfection. Definitely a must for breakfast, lunch, or brunch!

  • Richard A.

This quickly became my coffee house of choice while I was on vacation in Lahaina. Honestly, coming from the Seattle area, it doesn't get any better than this. Their brews are amazing (including an outta this world pour over), the foods (granola fruit bowls, open face bagel sammies, etc) are fresh and local. One day I ordered a drink called the mint refresher, and the barista went outside, and picked the mint from a little pot right on their deck. Their music is perfect for the vibe. I heard a lot of Thievery Corporation, Hooverphonic, Zero 7....all great coffee house choices. And to top it all off, the beach is literally 100 feet away. Cafe Cafe, I'll miss you back in the PNW!

  • Mister M.

They are doing a lot of things right here... Starting with the jerry Garcia radio playing. Coffee quality: 8 Friendliness:7 (just another job for some folks) Atmosphere: 10. Clean, inviting, and comfy Presentation: food looks incredible. 9 All in all its a sweet shoppe but the emphasis is hardly placed on neo-coffee nerdyness and more on the vibe. Alright by me, this is the best place to drink coffee in lahaina, hands down.

    (4)
  • Julia C.

Love this place! The coffee is amazing and the people are friendly. We'll be coming here every morning on our vacation for morning coffee and a light breakfast.

    (5)
  • Danielle C.

This is an OK coffee joint located in Lahaina. Their banana bread was decent and their iced mocha was OK. This shop rents Vespas for the day as well. There is a $5 minimum for a credit card charge though which was mildly annoying since I don't carry cash anymore. They have some cute Vespa items for sale here.

    (3)
  • Nicole A.

We had amazing iced coffees and fresh passion fruit lemonade. They have neat food and gifts too. We rented scooters here for 4 of us and had a blast cruising around. Neat place w/ cool island vibe.

We came one day for the açai bowls and coffee. We went back immediately the next morning for a chia bowl, an açai bowl and a smoothie. This place is great! Super friendly people, excellent location, couldn't ask for more!

Great food, great service and great coffee! I ate the red quinoa bowl two days in a row

  • Caitlin K.

Great espresso, great ambiance and patio, cool progressive vibe, and the acai bowls were good (wanted it a bit thicker). All in all, we loved finding this place. A great step in the right direction for the area. Cant wait to visit again.

  • Monique G.

Cute little coffee shop that offers a variety of breakfast choices! Very cool place. Delicious coffee. I had the iced cafe latte with macadamia nut flavor and my husband had the iced coffee with coffee cubes. Yum!

Great hole-in-the-wall cafe to stop in for a great expresso drink! The small staff behind the counter will great you with a warm smile and help you with your selection. I buy the Ohana Dark Roast coffee in whole bean form to go and they grind it for me. It is really one of the very best quality beans that I have ever tasted.

Best espresso in lahaina! The owner has a secret special blend that a local coffee grower blends for him! This espresso is smooth rich & creamy like hot chocolate! & the brewed coffee & coffee drinks are great too!! The food is fresh & delicious also! My favorite cafe in lahaina. Thanks Pavel's & Heather! Aloha!

Amazing cafe. Very authentic in a touristy town. BUT no bathroom, only reason it doesn't get 5 stars :(

    (3)
  • Briana T.

One of my favorite coffee shops on the West Side- great atmosphere, amazing food quality and incredibly smooth coffee. The baristas are always friendly the people watching is prime. If you are in Lahaina I would definitely stop in for a macchiato or one of their acaí bowls!

  • Thomas S.

Staff was friendly and their drinks were great. We will be coming back to this place a few times during our stay.

  • James H.

This is such a great coffee joint! If you go on Monday or Friday, any coffee is half off! I got a cup of their dark roast ($1.30 or something like that), which is locally sourced from Ka'anapali and it was great. There's also really cool jewelry and local nic nacks in there. They play great music and have free wifi as well, just ask for the password. I had an article to work on and found it a great place to relax and do some writing. I didn't have a chance to try the food, but it all looked fresh.

    (5)
  • L P.

The owner is a prick. First time in this coffee joint I heard him be rude when a guy asked what the wifi pw was. Said in a snotty German accent are u a customer? Yes he was and from another country with limited English skills, you remember those days don'tcha since you immigrated here? We were next... my 7 year old pointed to a holiday decoration and he came over and barked don't touch that. Yes, ok I will make sure no one touches your ugly cheap candy decoration but you don't have to bark out at kids like a Teutonic general. I would have quietly left but my kid was set on a damn smoothie and even a suggestion we get a milk shake at the ice cream store wouldn't cut it. The smoothie was healthy and delicious. Dude mellow out, learn from the native Hawaiian philosophy and get yourself a dose of aloha spirit.

Great breakfast! I am coffee picky, I always seem to gravitate back to Starbucks every time I try something new. I WILL be going back for this coffee!

    (5)
  • Maui E.

Busy busy! Order ahead or stop in after morning rush! It's a great replacement for your typical Starbucks! It's usually only one or two people working so, be patient and be prepared to wait. They are always very kind & the vibe is great :) I love their acai bowls & their music!

  • Bryce L.

Great vibe with the best coffee on the island! The lox bagel is my favorite on the menu.

    (5)
  • Erich V.

The cappuccino was good but not great. There were a few things that were just a bit off for my preference: the coffee was slightly too bitter, the foam was too dry and it was served in a glass instead of ceramic. The barista was very nice and the drink was made in a timely fashion.

    (4)
  • Jonah B.

Best iced coffee!! They use coffee ice cubes so it's great to the last drop!! All the ladies that work there are very friendly. I highly recommend them!!

    (5)
  • Ew W.

The King K's Kope coffee bean is a light milk chocolate color and usually I like dark roasts. This bean has a warm smooth note. When brewed it produces a velvety smooth medium coffee low acidity no bite and truly delicious cup. I would recommend this to friends and even those who would normally only buy dark coffee. This home made roast is well worth the trip!

    (5)
  • Kelly d.

Had breakfast our last morning here- friendly people, fresh fruit in our granola bowl and acai bowl. The clincher, iced coffee with coffee ice cubes. Great vibe and definitely recommend.

Outstanding dry cappuccino! I had to return twice during my recent visit to have it again. Strongly recommended.

Its funny sometime you live on the same island but Lahaina feels like a vacation.....when you live at 3400ft in Kula Love Heather and Pavel they are doing a great job of running this cute café in Lahaina town. Good Coffee.. and bagels!

Dropped in tonight after an enjoyable dinner on Front Street (so I was in a great mood) and wanted a chai to keep me awake on the drive home to Wailea. I hate to review local businesses negatively (and I much prefer to frequent them over chains) but wow - so disappointing. The two women working could hardly be bothered. Maybe they were closed but the door was open. Once I got their attention, they were cold and snotty. After they made my large chai with coconut milk, one of them just plunked it down on the side bar without so much as an acknowledgment or letting me know it was even mine. My husband was checking out some of their cool books but there was no interest in him as a possible customer. I was left with the feeling that I should be so lucky to have them serve me. No thank you. No come back soon. No nothing. I won't be back.

  • Audree G.

First coffee we tried in Mauï they opened the door for us even though they were closed so we could get their Maui coffee for the next morning (which is essential with a 9 years old) very good coffee and service We tried the gelato also which was good even though we are too lucky back in Montreal that I'm becoming difficult I guess

    (4)
  • Rachel W.

If you want to wait 25min for 4 drinks this is the place for you. They need to increase their staff or their number of toaster ovens.

    (1)
  • Maya D.

DO NOT order the smoothies from here!!! My friend and I drove here to get a smoothie and an acai bowl. We would have been better off staying in the hotel and ordering the $10 smoothie off the room service menu. The smoothies took forever to make and the acai bowl was a very watery consistency and small, especially for costing $9. The smoothies were also pricey which I can deal with, but they were also FLAVORLESS!!!! I don't event think they added the ingredients that were listed as being in the smoothie because it honestly tasted like water with essence of fruit, what fruit, I do not know. Maybe the coffee here is better but whatever you do, do not order the smoothies.

While vacationing in Maui, I still had a few hours of work to do. Rather than heading back to Starbucks by Safeway, we came here. They offer free wifi (by the ocean!) and tasty coffee and iced tea. This place is small but not crowded. Would recommend if you want a quick coffee or need to get on wifi. Oh! And it appears as though they also rent Vespas! They have a few Vespa items (wallets, bags, etc) for sale, too. Cute!

    (4)
  • Vanessa M.

Delicious and healthy food! My favorite is the lox, smoked salmon, yum! Heather and Pavel small business owners love their cafe and it shows from the quality of the food and coffee they offer to the display of local jewelry and european cafe feel! Do yourself a flavor and visit!

    (5)
  • Jessica S.

Friendly local service. Everything we ordered was made fresh and great quality. & they had almond milk for coffee. Headed back again today!

    (5)
  • Natasha X.

We came here for breakfast, because I found it on Yelp. It is really cute, and both ladies who worked here were very nice. I had a veggie egg white scramble, my mom had the croissant sandwich with egg and cheese, and my dad had a lox bagel. We all had iced coffees also. The food was delicious and we definitely recommend it. :)

    (4)
  • Alisha D.

My acai bowl had a huge chunk of acai (like half the packet) that was not blended......they obviously noticed as they were pouring it out. I am disappointed that I tipped them because it's money wasted. I can't eat a big frozen chunk of fruit. If you want a tasty acai bowl that is fully blended go to Choice Health Bar or Anuenue! I advice you don't go here for that!

    (2)
  • Aelaf W.

Disappointed. Seeking fresh juices while in Maui, we went to café café based on the recommendations of a neighboring business. Given its nice open air Italian café feel, we were ready to be impressed. However, to my disappointment, their juices are not befitting such an environment. The Juices and smoothies are diluted down with both a base of either water or milk and excessive amount of ice.

    (2)
  • Keala K.

Great ambiance. They a great menu items. Smoothies, gelato, bagel, egg plates. The decor is great and they have a lot of motivational books, mugs, and cards.

    (4)
  • Tina U.

Decent food and coffee but unfortunately the guy running the place isn't the best. He kept saying how busy they were and there was a back log on food orders while he just stood behind the counter and made a few coffee drinks. His partner is the one that does all the heavy lifting. Our table wasn't bussed until she came and helped us after she made all the food. Too bad cuz the place has a lot of potential.

    (3)
  • Brittany E.

Best coffee on the island! You can buy bags of their delicious local coffee to take home as gifts! The staff is super friendly and give great tips about the island! Great vibes and atmosphere! Tons of healthy food options for breakfast and lunch, acai bowls, and smoothies! They also rent mopeds and Vespas! Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the Lahaina area!

  • Allison F.

Café Café was absolutely phenomenal, all 3 times I went there on a recent vacation to Maui. The gals behind the counter were wonderful, and they make THE BEST mac nut latte ever. I'm going through withdrawals as I type. The guy mentioned in the below post is in fact an odd nut but he was only there one of the times I went and he didn't interfere with our ordering at all. He seems like an uber coffee enthusiast who didn't quite grasp the concept of an iced espresso beverage (in fact, he seemed downright lost in translation), but I bet he runs the Vespa side of the operation so we just went with it. It's like little Paris or Italy (depending on the tunes of the day) plopped right in the middle of paradise. I cannot wait to go back.

    (5)
  • Misha M.

Great concept, but poor execution (and horrible service). It took over 20 minutes to get toast and eggs when there were only 2 other people in the whole place! Plus there was a hair in the butter for my toast, so that just ruined everything.

    (2)
  • Jelger K.

I admit it, I'm a coffee snob. I was delighted to find Cafe Cafe. They have excellent, very smooth coffee. They also offer a variety of tasty and health breakfast items. The owner and his partner not only provide excellent beverages and food but also make a splendid atmosphere. This was the perfect place to start and end my days in Lahaina. Why go anywhere else for coffee when you have found the best?

    (5)
  • Douglas M.

A funky little hole in the wall coffee shop. They do coffee, make breakfasts, sell Gelato and even rent scooters or Harleys. I went to the big fancy coffee shop on the other side of the highway and was so disappointed! This place with it's friendly employee and wonderful faithful customers was a breath of sunshine! Give it a try!

    (5)
  • Mark D.

Very disappointed in cafe cafe. Food was average, coffee was ok. The service was horrible. The man behind the counter was rude and smarted off on every question we asked. We came in our honeymoon and will never return to cafe cafe. There are much better places.

My new favorite place, the owner & staff are super nice, very good coffee & food, KID friendly! Loved it & there open til 9! Def. hope this new business makes it long...

  • Justin P.

good coffee, nice lil place with outdoor seating right off front st. bagel sandwich wasnt cheap and didnt come as advertised. slice of deli ham and slice of american cheese like a kid made it. a kid probably did make it and it took her about 20 minutes. the tuna and greens salad was real tasty but it was small and $10.

    (3)
  • Dan D.

The coffee is freaking fantastic, which is too bad because the Euro Guy who runs the place is a jerk. His girlfriend did ALL the work while he sat at a table and looked on. I got my coffee and asked for the wifi code. The guy asked me how much I spent, and I told him that I bought a cup of coffee. His response, "Spend $5 and I'll give you the code." I pointed out that the sign says FREE WIFI, but he said that's only for customers who spend more money. Really? Now that's what I call service. Dude, let your girlfriend run the store, she's nice, you're a jerk.

We visited this restaurant on a trip to Maui and unfortunately we were underwhelmed. We ordered a salad and a smoothie. The salad was tasteless and a little too earthy for my taste. They failed to counter the bitterness of the greens with anything. There was a small portion of dressing that was not very good. And there was a small piece of tomato cut from the top end so most of it was the base of the tomato stem, very unappealing. The smoothie had an awful taste and large chunks of ice throughout. For the money, not worth it. I wish I had another cafe in the area to recommend but we didn't really spend much time in that area. Cute place on first impression but if you want good food, this is not the place.

    (1)
  • Hek F.

Great tasting espresso. Way better than MauiGrown Coffee. I was the only customer at the time, but the service was ok. I ordered a double Americano and the guy asked me if I wanted the 12 or 16 oz cup (less water is more taste!), then asked if I wanted room for creme, I stuttered and the guy added water when I came around and said less water. He then offered to re-make it but it was my fault anyway so left it at that. Still the best coffee in Lahaina and I tried about four reputable coffee shops in town.

  • Elle M.

The biggest challenge traveling is finding good, authentic coffee. I avoid Starbucks whenever possible and cafe cafe came to my rescue. They brew MauiOma coffee and espresso but most importantly they know HOW to make quality drinks. They also rent Vespa scooters and sell Vespa Merch. It's like a slice of Italy in Maui. Bravo and cheers!

    (5)
  • Wendy C.

This place is cute, delicious, and right off the main drag in Lahaina. BUT the man who either owns the place or was working this morning was so rude! I was scared to even order more stuff he was so short with me like he didn't want my business. Never going back, I'm sure there was coffee places just as good without an asshole working there.
