I loved eating breakfast here almost every day! The line was never wrong, the Starbucks drinks were on point, the prices were right, and the pastries were delicious! I absolutely loved that although there were people on the terrace every morning, there was always available seating. My husband and I consistently found shaded areas with chairs and a table to relax at with ocean views every single morning. Beware of the birds! They are quite bold! They tried flying by and snatching my husband's pastry out of his fingers.

What a little slice of paradise...sitting outside on a gorgeous terrace for a quick breakfast, or watching the sun set from your table with views of Shipwreck Beach and the awesome grounds, you cannot go wrong here at Seaview Terrace. Yeah, it's not cheap, but you're at the Grand Hyatt on Kauai...what do you expect? You get what you pay for! It was worth every penny, as far as we were concerned :) Our first morning in Kauai, we walked the path from where we were staying to the Grand Hyatt, marveled at the beautiful grounds, and found our way to Seaview Terrace. Grabbed a pastry and some juice, and sat out on the terrace in the shade to enjoy the view and the lovely breeze. A couple nights later, we decided to go back to Seaview Terrace to enjoy some appetizers and drinks after taking memorable pics of the sunset from Shipwreck Beach. I discovered my new FAVORITE drink at Seaview Terrace; the Kalaheo Colada! Basically a pina colada with BANANAS...omigosh, I looooove that drink! The food (sliders and kahlua pizza) was soooo good (I didn't care for the taro chips that accompanied the sliders, but Hubby liked 'em). We cannot wait to go back to Kauai (we're thinking April 2016), and cannot wait to hit up Seaview Terrace again. The Kalaheo Colada, the food, the view, the service, and the ambiance are all beckoning me back from the Mainland!

Pros: View is incredible. That really is the only (and quite a strong) reason to go. Cons: Expensive. Inside the Grand Hyatt.

Yes they make a delicious drink, but you will pay for it! Eeeeek. Go to town if you'd like better prices, but you'll miss the view. Paying for the prime real estate.

Great food in a very relaxing environment overlooking the water. The live music hits the spot. The food is delicious. Pricey, but delicious. Service is great, as is everything else in the grand Hyatt! They also cater to gluten free which is great. The grass fed burger is awesome.

Love the ambiance and location with the awesome view. The food seemed like some of the ingredients had dried and had been sitting for a while. Definitely a little too expensive for what we got but it's convenient. Loved having the live music though. I had the boar pie. It was pretty good the ingredients just disappointed a little. Wife didn't love the Hawaiian club. Had tons of meat.

Great cafe style terrace with spectacular water views. We caught a whale sighting while dining on oatmeal, muffins, espresso and latte. Food is ok, coffee is Starbucks and as such not made to the same standards you'd get at a marquee store. Gluten free options available. If you do not like birds flying about, do not go. Several finches hopped up to our table which I found amusing while my wife did not, however she is Dr. Doolittle's wicked-stepsister when it comes to animals.

More worth it for the atmosphere and vibe than the edibles. There was live music - a few local dancers, and a few little girls that were really cute. THE WAIT: None - we came at 7pm on a Saturday at sunset and grabbed a small table on the balcony overlooking the fountains, pools, and ocean. The way we were situated though, we were actually behind the performers (most seats look at the stage, with the balcony behind it and the ocean view behind that. There was one dancer who would dance on the balcony part in conjunction with the performance, which was a nice gesture but honestly kind of awkward. THE SERVICE: On the slow side. Once we ordered our drink, it came out really fast. We'd told our server we just wanted drinks so he didn't come by again, but when we changed our minds it took a while to find him again. The food took a bit longer to come out. THE COST: Pricey! $80 for 2 drinks, 1 app, 1 salad. Must-haves: ~~ISLAND FAVORITES~~ Drinks menu: yelp.com/biz_photos/seav… pic of drinks: yelp.com/biz_photos/seav… * Lava Flow ($14) - 4.5 stars A good tropical juice/smoothie. We liked the fruity flavors. * Kalaheo Colada (bananas, bailey, macadamia liqueur, ice cream. $14) - 4 stars Also great, much more sweet, and the banana was pretty strong. Dinner menu: yelp.com/biz_photos/seav… ~~TO SHARE~~ * Trio of Sliders (lilikoi/BBQ pork, beef, crab. $18) - 3.5 stars pic: yelp.com/biz_photos/seav… Not bad, but the buns weren't great, kind of stale. We asked for these to be medium-rare, but they were more like medium to well-done. The taro chips were thin and crispy, good but not too much to speak of. ~~SALADS~~ * Hawaiian Pesto Crusted Island Fish and Prawns ($20) - 4 stars pic: yelp.com/biz_photos/seav… Pretty good, and the fish was pretty fresh. I liked the cantaloupe, never thought to have that in a salad. The dressing was simple and thick but light. A good mix of flavors.

Great place to sit, enjoy a drink, something to eat, and watch the ocean. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Kauai (which is a MUST if you are in Poipu, Kauai), and enjoyed several visits to the Seaview Terrace. This was my "go to" place while there. Service is excellent! The food is very good - we enjoyed the pizza, several different drinks, and some of the other food, while there. Prices - proportionate to the other restaurants and meals in Kauai. You are in Kauai, Hawaii, after all. Relaxing! Refreshing! Comfortable! Cozy! When you picture yourself, sitting with drink, enjoying a meal, or a light appetizer, and looking out at the ocean, the Seaview Terrace is just the ticket! You do not have to be a guest there too (just pay with cash or a credit card). Loved it!

Lunch and dinner is average/mediocre food with a 5 star view, which is really all that needs to be said. Burger was dry, although the fries were crispy. Salads just okay. Service can be slow but they try very hard, which is nice. Breakfast is pretty good here, they have a nice selection of ready to go pastries and yogurt, as well as hot breakfast paninis. Spam masubis were pretty interesting and tasty. They serve Starbucks coffee, however, I ordered ice coffee and they didn't put any ice in it, which was bizarre. It wasn't cold so I had to request ice. Just thought it was a little weird not to put ice in iced coffee. Aside from that, the view is spectacular and I would definitely come to enjoy coffee or a quick breakfast if you're staying at the Grand Hyatt. Not really worth coming for dinner unless you're desperate.

Located inside the Grand Hyatt. Great views of the grounds and the ocean. Perfect for sitting in the morning and relaxing while sipping your coffee. 3 stars however for the cost and value. $6 for a small Kauai coffee? $6.50 for a large Kauai coffee? That's highway robbery and even more than you pay at the airport. Especially when you consider you can buy an entire bag of Kauai coffee for $10 at the store. I couldn't bear to pay $6+ for a single coffee - I don't care if it's "Kauai" coffee - so I would always order the cheaper Starbucks Kona Blend (meaning probably only 10% Kona beans). Even this was not cheap at $4.50 for a grande. Pastries/muffins/scones all in the neighborhood of $3 which was fine. A banana for $2.25 seemed excessive. Unfortunately there are no cheaper quick coffee/pastry options available to you if you're staying at the Hyatt. The alternative would be the even pricier Ilima Terrace for a sit-down meal. Or you can use the coffee maker in your room and do it the cheap route. Also a fun place to grab a pre-dinner drink while listening to the live guitar entertainment. In the end, if you're staying at the Grand Hyatt, you have the money to spend and you're not expecting a bargain. But $6 coffee seems like price gouging...

Came here on night one of out stay for a quick snack. The views are incredible and recommend the outdoor seating at sunset particularly. We had a couple of drinks--have a unique cocktail menu along with the trio of sliders. We enjoyed the seafood crab slider more than the other two. Only downside is it is costly for the amount of food given. Cocktails are 14/each.

Five stars for the killer view while you eat and also the live music on evenings. The food was mediocre and pricey. But, if you are used to mediocre food then it will not be a problem. 2 stars for food.

A nice place to have a beverage and/or a light snack. The view of the ocean is great. The seats are not very comfortable and better for lounging than conversation. The service is just okay as the waitresses seem disorganized.

I was sick of eating fish everyday and I ordered a Margarita pizza. It was the worst that I ever had. The dough was really thick, no tomato sauce just cheese and a few slices of tomatoes on top. Overpriced because of the view.

Went there once to drink cocktails. Pina Colada are to die for!! So, drive 45min the day after to drink another round of Pina Colada and Lava Flow! Both were simply outstanding. Moreover, staff friendly and efficient. View is wonderfull!!! Go for sunset! Live music every night. If you can call a place somewhere over the rainbow, this is it! Friday night, you will see a traditional hawaiian ceremony with dancer.

This is located inside Grand Hyatt. We decided to stay in the last night for dinner, and this was the best dinner we had for the 4 days we are in Kauai. Casual sitting - lounge couch sitting, immaculate view of the ocean beach, plus live entertainment! The solo guitar was amazing! The food I would give it 4 stars, service was excellent and the view was so relaxing! The kids meal are the best! Both value and quality. For about $8.95, one of the dish is make your own pasta - penne/spaghetti + cheese/marinara sauce + meat ball/chicken/shrimp + a choice of veggie!!!! For once a kids meal feed a 10 year old. Most kids menu for kids under 12, they either feed kids that doesn't eat or 3 to 4 year olds. The adult meal was also decent. The mushroom burger was delicious and the fish sandwich was good too. I really wish we would have gone there more times.

NIce place to sit and have some cocktails. The view from here is amazing, but get here early especially on the weekends as seats fill up. If the Hyatt is having their sunset ceremony then this is the best place to be, but again come here early because seats will fill up. I would love to give this 5 stars but the chairs are just too uncomfortable to warrant the full five stars. They are more for lounging then sitting comfortably and eating or drinking. The drinks here are good they are the same ones you will get all over the Grand Hyatt so nothing extra special about them. We had the hummus platter here which was good and hit the spot with our drinks. In the mornings you can buy bagels and coffee or sandwiches from the cafe and eat it on the terrace...but honestly the cafe is pretty bad and I wish they had more selection. All in all the 4 stars are basically for the view! Come here, sit, relax, enjoy the view and have a drink....for that purpose Seaview terrace is perfect!

Good luck finding a seat for dinner but the view is unmatched so give it a try! Food is pretty standard. This is really about the view from the beautiful Hyatt and the live music they have each night. If you are staying at the hotel, go in the morning for coffee, a bagel, and the newspaper. Not a better place to relax before a big day!

Loved it! Beautiful view (you cannot see the sunset just fyi), good food, good drink selection. Real nice and casual and chill hangin out in the beautiful open air.
