We ate here during our stay in Maui. My husband and I don't normally order Pho unless the place is known for their Pho or if we've had it there before. That being said, we decided to skip the pho and go with dinner entrees. We had spring rolls, bo luc lac (shake n beef), and Vietnamese curry and the fried rice. The food came out really fast and it was delicious! My toddler ate most of fried rice and the curry was amazing. The bo luc lac was tender and juicy, this was probably one of the cheaper places we ate while we stayed in Maui.

My experience here for the first time was great. We walked in and were seated immediately. I ordered the special pho and fried spring rolls. My boyfriend had some kind of pork chop plate. All were yummy!!!! Portions were also big!

I visited Maui for a week and a half, and visit this place for a couple of times. I think this is a decent Vietnamese restaurant. I think some dishes were quite authethic but I would not say all of their dishes were authethic.

I eat here probably once a week and have been coming here for years. I'm always happy to support a family run business on the island. Lately I have been trying to expand my ordering selection. Just had the steak with onions the other night which was really really good. My personal favorite is the crispy half chicken with the duck sauce! Also their Vietnamese Iced Coffee is legit. Just like those that I got addicted to traveling through Vietnam.

First time the special Pho was pretty good. Second time the meat was fatty and nasty, and the #17 was just ok. After the first trip I thought we found out new Pho place. I was mistaken. I also looked into the kitchen and saw how filthy it was. We won't come back.

Friendly place with a sizeable crowd. We came in late around 8 and the service was good. We both had the beef pho with rare and meatballs. I usually go to with pho. I was disappointed, it was a little sweet. Maybe that's how some like it. But I found that might be the norm in Maui. A wonderful surprise as we are leaving the owner brought us some cake, after asking if we had a microwave in our room. Basically he shoved it at us, and I'm glad he did. We had it for breakfast the next day and it was lovely.

It's so nice to have found Vietnamese Cuisine on Maui. Half of our party were Asian and the other have Vietnamese food lovers. The food here is wonderful, especially the national dish PHO, and all appetizers. We know authentic Vietnamese, and ate here several times during our trip in August of 2015.

Came in on a Saturday night at 8:30 and this place was poppin! My family and I ordered: Fresh spring rolls Vermicelli noodles with grilled beef and fried spring rolls Pho with rare steak The fresh spring rolls, which I normally order at Vietnamese restaurants, didn't taste as fresh as I would've enjoyed. It was rather skimpy and not wrapped tightly. The Vermicelli noodles with grilled beef and fried spring rolls were mediocre. Again, the fresh ingredients didn't taste as fresh. I had tasted my sister's pho w/rare steak and I did not enjoy the broth. I don't like "sweet" pho and do not put hoisin sauce. The broth was a bit sweet and I didn't help myself to a second serving. My sister and father, who both ordered the pho, said that they have had better pho. Service was good though. And I enjoyed the little pudding tapioca dessert that the provided in the end. But perhaps we came at an off night or the food didn't taste as good because it was close to closing time? Not sure but I doubt I would return.

Love this place. Great VN food whether you're a novice or a native. Friendly and clean with kitschy decor. We love the 'burritos'. Make your own summer rolls at your table. Not sure what to order? Staff is happy to help. Plenty of parking too. A little jewel in Kihei.

Let me say first of all, I love a good bowl of Pho soup. The Pho here is just ok. It was kinda watery for my taste. My son got the fried rice and it was excellent. My wife got a clay pot dish and it was pretty good. The service is excellent and served extremely fast. I guess my 3 star rating is for the Pho soup alone, because that's what I was craving.

My family always goes to our favorite Vietnamese restaurant. when my aunty comes to visit from Oahu! She is friends with the owner! My favorite dish is their clams with black bean sauce! I can eat the whole plate all by myself! Everything their is delicious! If you have room in your tummies try their Kalua cake for dessert!

Regarding the location, this is really among the top choices when you want to have some authentic Asian cuisine. The foods and drinks are all tasty and authentic!

Service here was good. It didn't take long to get our chicken pho and pork dish. I think the chicken pho broth could have been better. It tasted a little sweet and I just wasn't used to it. Overall, it was still satisfying and really enjoyed the complimentary rice pudding dessert.

I don't know how some of these reviews are way off based, but I did search for a Vietnamese restaurant and came up with this place in Kihei. While I had a typical experience here, it was way better than what those other yelpers had experienced. Vietnamese Cuisine boasts itself as authentic Vietnamese cuisine, so that was a good deal for me. While I do agree with the others about it being overpriced, you are in Maui, so just need to be aware of the cost of doing business here on the island. With that said, Vietnamese Cuisine experience with me was typical of any Vietnamese restaurant I have visited on my own. While my experience can be construed as unique, based on what others gave said, it was uneventful and will return again whenever my travels to Maui warrant my Pho fix and other delectable Vietnamese delights! Vietnamese Cuisine Vietnamese restaurant is located in the Azeka shopping mall - Mauka in Kihei. Just like many mall restaurants, Vietnamese Cuisine stacks up with that category to a tee. I arrived here on a brisk Saturday around 3pm. The restaurant was very empty and was greeted by the guy, whom turned out to be the owner's son. He have me about 10 minutes to decide and I ultimately had the Combination Pho. @ $12.99 a bowl, it was already decidedly expensive, but as enthusiastic as I was, I didn't do the summer rolls. The ambiance of this restaurant was quiet, as it was empty on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was clean and orderly. I sat next to the wall, near the cash register and the tv was on. The mood was nice to gather my thoughts for the half marathon the next morning. The Pho was delivered after about 15 minutes after ordering and I was surprised about how much bean sprouts and the lack of basil that was given to me. In fact, they gave me cilantro instead of bean sprouts. The broth was surprisingly rich and deep with flavor. I would have suspected it to not be good, but it turned out to be pretty tasty. Although the noodles turned out to be not rice noodles, it was more like udon, but not as fat. It just tasted different. They skimped out on the meat a bit, but that's alright. The meal was good and the experience was alright. They accept credit cards, so that's always a plus for me. I would like to recommend this Vietnamese restaurant to those who seek the wisdom of Pho. One of the better ones in Maui, if I say so myself. After paying, the owner's son noticed my 50 States Marathon T-Shirt and we made small talk about running marathons and training. It was pretty cool. Turns out that he ran a couple of marathons before getting sidelined with injury. That's always a bummer, but with slow and methodical training, he could get back into the swing of things. That experience was a nice end to the meal. While I can't rate this experience a 4 just because of the overpriced Pho, 3 1/2 stars. That's all about it. Support local! B

I am a Pho addict. I love this stuff even in heat of summer. Since I am visiting, I have to have my fix. Only decent Place here in Wailea and Kihei area is this place. My rating is based on the Pho alone since this is what I had. Soup was good. Broth was tasty and aromatic except they make their broth on the sweet side. My preference is on the salty side. I normally opt for egg noodle with my soup. I find rice noodle to get mushy and soft easily in hot broth. Also I find that thin egg noodle stands out better to a good aromatic broth. Just my preference. Another thing that was a let down was the bean sprouts. They were not as fresh as I want them to be. They're one day too old I think. Not entirely bad but not as fresh.

  • Travis H.

First. Some reviewer saying it's a place that only Asians can go in are a stupid ass. It doesn't matter what it looks like, it's what goes in the mouth. As for the food we got a dry pork noodle and spring rolls. Spring rolls were made with fresh cooked shrimp, good quality. The noodle was a little bland, could use some more acid. The coffee was the best we got on the island so far, slow dripped at the table in traditional style.

  • Jennifer T.

I am Vietnamese and I KNOW my food. Summer rolls = not fresh, they served old bean sprouts. GROSS. I couldn't eat second one. Beef pho = not authentic, bland. Nothing excited. Crispy Duck = dry and chewy. I liked the dipping sauce. Coconut juice = fresh, but watered down. they didn't add ice in it. Thai tea = bland and watered down too. It was $54 for 2 people. WTF. What a rip off! Its normally cost about $18 in Dallas. I wouldn't come back.

A considerate review - we are big foodies from Orange County & LA area. Everywhere we go on vacation, we always want to try and eat Vietnamese food in that region. We want to experience the evolution of food into a certain area. And quite frankly, we like Vietnamese food. We had 5 people in our group. We ordered: - Pho with beef and meatballs (tai and bo vien) - surprisingly the broth is rich in flavor. The beef is soft an the meatball is generic frozen type, but isn't bad. The basil leaf was plentiful. The water sprouts are slightly wilted. I don't think Maui is know for water sprouts so their isn't much source for constant fresh water sprouts. I did taste a high content of MSG. A slight reduction would actually make it taste better. Overall, this is as best as it's going to get away from home. For what it is, I do appreciate the effort and it did satisfy my cravings. My guess is that the extra sweetness is an accommodation for Hawaiians or Americans. Please don't do that. You may think you're doing the right thing, but it isn't. Keep it authentic and it'll work out for you better long term. - Vietnamese Sour Soup with Mahi Mahi fish (canh chua ca Mahi Mahi - there is no taro stem (bac ha). With out it, don't make the dish or at least let your customers know that it doesn't come with it. Taro stem is a major ingredient. Mahi Mahi should not be used, ever. It you can't get catfish, which isn't available in Hawaii, then only offer Shrimp. Mahi Mahi was so dry and it lost all the essentials of the meaty fish dipped in fish sauce. If you're Vietnamese, you know what I mean. I should have ordered with shrimp. Over all, the flavor of the soup is there, dead on, although once again, slightly on the sweet side. Recommendation for the restaurant: you should consider making Canh Chua Rau Muong with Shrimp. It has success in the orange county and all your ingredients are available. - Crunchy noodle with sautéed beef (mi xao don) - this dish is a big failure due to the super sweet sauce. This is far from tasty. Success in this dish is all within the sauce. Do not order this dish. - Vermicelli with sautéed beef (bun bo xao) - this dish came with lots of vegetables which is a plus. The beef is surprisingly soft. Again, everything is great except for the slightly sweet fish sauce. Overall, compared in Orange County, LA or San Francisco, this restaurant would be a 2 star in my books at best. However, with limited options in Hawaii, this restaurant is decent and satisfied my Pho craving. Plus one star. The fact that the owner tried to adapt the food to the region will earn another one star in my books. However, I do strongly disagree with the decision and the chef/owner should make the food less sweet as it should be and customers would like it even more.

Stopped over for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Neat and clean, with very few customers around. We ordered summer rolls to start, beef with spring roll over vermicelli, and lemongrass chicken rice combo for main. The mains were especially flavorful, the starter was large but a little too 'herby' for our taste. Service was attentive overall, but somewhat bordered on rushed. I'm willing to overlook this given the great prices (avg of below 11 dollars per main) and the flavorful mains.

Legit Viet restaurant in Maui. Pho was good but beef cubes were ehh. Pretty expensive as well. If you're craving it, check this place out but don't expect much.

After being up at Haleakala for the sunset, we arrived at Vietnamese Cuisine quite late, and with only 2 other couples in the restaurant we took that as a good sign. We ordered the lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl and a lemongrass chicken curry. Both were very good, and came moments after we ordered. Being very late, we were very hungry and were pleased that we didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive. Our server was a friendly but quite guy, who I think was one of the family members that helped to run the restaurant. Once finished we asked for our bill and a small cup of tapioca pudding came for each of us. I'm not normally a big fan of tapioca pudding, but it was very good. I commented to our server that it was delish and they brought us a couple more. A very nice touch ! I'll go back to Vietnamese Cuisine again when I'm back in Kihei. The staff were very nice and the food was hot, fresh and tasty !

We were visiting from Utah. I am hardly a foodie but do make a point of eating Vietnamese (mainly pho) everywhere I travel. I came here with family. Service was great and friendly. Pho had a good broth, fresh salad, very tasty!! Tofu "burrito" was the big hit. Really fresh vegetables. Very tasty lemongrass sauce. The fried rice was fine. The summer rolls were fine. Overall, it was one of the better Vietnamese meals I've had. The food in Maui obviously can be quite expensive. This was good enough that we came back a couple of times during our trip to wailea

Expensive, 13.95 for a bowl of pho?!?!? Maui prices I guess. Food was average, noticed they keep getting orders wrong. Service was average, slow. My son's avocado smoothie had huge chunks of ice in it. Ok place if you are tired and hungry.

Been here several times before and we have always liked it. Today had their Saimin for the first time. Dats da one. Thinkin it's better than Da Kitchen, my previous one. Wife had really good house fried rice. Sis had a yellow curry that she thought quite tasty. Mom and pop and plenty of attention. It's a keeper

Wow what a disappointment. We r pho and banh mi lovers from little Saigon in so cal. This place had some taste issues. Not sure what was wrong but my rice and pork were beyond dry. Sprayed it with some suave and still no go. The pho had a weird taste to it. My wife couldn't eat it and she is vietnamese. Big disappointment

3.5 stars for the steak pho! Basil, sprouts, jalepenos, lemon and siracha and hoisin sauce were provided for takeout. Soup was still piping hot when I got back to the condo. The broth was rich but too sweet for my taste. I would have liked it to have more steak, which was thinly sliced and tender. Not used to the green onions in the soup. Overall got my pho fix! Gave their lemon grass beef "bun' or vermicelli bowl with a side order of spring rolls and it was good. I never tried the noodles with a lemon grass curry sauce on top, so that was a nice novelty. Spring rolls were crisp and the salad was fresh. The owner recognized me as I did return for the 3rd night in a row for pick-up. He was sweet to give me a free tapioca dessert to go. If you're in Kihei or Maui, I'd highly recommend this place for authentic Vietnamese food!

For those who need a fix of good and authentic Vietnamese food, this is a great place to get it. The pho was very good (the broth a bit sweet for my taste but I still slurped it down), and the crispy chicken dish was sooooooo good!!! My husband had the pork chop with rice, and that was crispy and flavorful. The portions are really big, and I made fried rice with all of the leftovers at our timeshare the day after!

I rarely give bad reviews for restaurants, but this is one of the worst food experiences I have had in awhile. Not only was the food overpriced, but the portions were extremely small. I had the claypot rice, which should come sizzling, so that the rice on the bottom gets a crunchy texture. The pot wasn't sizzling at all, and the rice was almost black because of how over-sauced it was. The traditional mushrooms, zucchini, and carrots were substituted with mushy peas and over-seasoned shiitake mushrooms. The sweet and sour soup came with a decent amount of mahi-mahi, but the soup had a strange taste that I couldn't put my finger on. Kihei is filled with other options, so I recommend you steer clear of this spot if you can help it.

Really good Vietnamese food and reasonable prices for those travelers on a budget. The service was fast and friendly. I chatted with the owner's son who is a fellow West Point grad. I'm glad my wife and I found this place on "Maui Revealed" because it's always awesome to support veteran owned local businesses. We will return on our next trip to Maui! :-)

This place is a joke. Extremely over priced Vietnamese food and it isn't extremely delicious. I understand we're in Maui and everything is expensive, however, this place is not worth it. Honestly, I wouldn't even call it true Vietnamese. Maybe I am spoiled coming from San Francisco Bay Area, where alomost every corner has a Vietnamese pho restaurant, but this place can't even compare. Expensive food does not make delicious food. If you have extra cash that you feel you need to waste it, try them out. I would prefer to give money to the needed though.

Excellent seafood soup: very rich broth and good size to share. Rice in a clay pot, stir fry scallops, and catfish in a clay pot were great too. The quality for the price is hard to beat in this area.

Good service and the seafood soup was really wonderful. Great mussels and the broth was really complimentary of the seafood.

Bad food, bad service. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. Then a different server shows up with soft-shelled crabs, which we did not order. After that, we waited so long for the appetizer to show up that I said to the original server that I wanted to have the appetizer served to us before the entrees. Her response was a grunt. Then another server shows up with a tray holding our appetizer and one of our entrees, but serves us just the appetizer. After I take a bite out of the appetizer, he returns with the same entree and serves it to us. So technically, they did serve us the appetizer before the entrees. The other entree soon shows up too, while we are still eating the appetizer. One of the entrees was crispy chicken. It is a dish where the chicken needs to be chopped up with a cleaver. In this case, it was chopped incompletely so that all the pieces where still connected to each other, and all the pieces where so big that we had to ask for knives to cut it into smaller pieces before we could pick them up with our chopsticks. The other entree, a steamed fish, was overcooked by Asian standards. They gave us a free dessert -- two ounces of a sweet liquid so thick that an oversized spoon could stand up in it (see the photo).

We really enjoy coming to this little restaurant, the vegetarian do it yourself burritos complete with spring rolls is an excellent choice, you will have far too much to eat in one sitting but it's just as good later. It's a clean, pleasant restaurant and the waitstaff is very good.

Yummy Vietnamese food in the Hawaii? Oh yeah. Although a little bit pricey (just like everything in Hawaii), the food was pretty good, although not as good as any South Bay restaurant. I hate to judge this place by a single dish I have tried, but it was overseasoned - too salty, but other than that a very solid food.

I could've waited 2 weeks to have pho in LA.. but nooo~~ I just HAD to eat it on Maui too.. OTL I think there were only about 2-3 Vietnamese places.. so it wasn't that hard to choose a place xP We had: - COMBO PHO yelp.com/biz_photos/viet… $11.95 - meatballs, tendon, and rare steak... broth was a bit on the sweet side but still very good :] - CRISPY CHICKEN w/ SHREDDED PORK yelp.com/biz_photos/viet… $10.95 - the shredded pork had some sort of powder on it that was weird.. but the crispy chicken was so crispy and good! Seasoned with just salt and pepper... very simple but delicious :] Total: $28ish w/ tip Service: no complaints here :] Parking: they're in the same mall as Taco Bell and many other stores.. lot's of space :] *This restaurant looks small looking in from outside.. but it's pretty big~ good for large groups :] MmMmm... *burp*

Bug soup pretty much sums it up. We had just arrived to the Wailea area and wanted a quick bite to eat. It was late so we ended up here. Not only did they throw the menus at us, but the sprouts that came with the pho were wilted like they were 2 days old. Not slimey yet but definitely wilted. When I asked if I could get fresher sprouts the waiter just grabbed the plate and put them back in the kitchen. Then I saw the bug, more like a beetle or something floating in the broth, which btw was very disgusting. Salty and not quite right. We kindly told the waiter we were leaving. If you're used to SF Bay Area Vietnamese then wouldn't recommend.

My friends were craving pho one day on our trip, so this was my first visit, and their second visit in a week. And really, when is pho a bad idea? :-) The service was great -- the owner's son was covering for her while she was on vacation, and we enjoyed chatting with him. The other gentleman working was lovely as well. I had spring rolls, the steak pho, and a Vietnamese iced coffee -- my usual pho meal. The spring rolls tasted great -- no better and no worse than my favorite pho restaurants in San Jose and Morgan Hill. The pho broth tasted slightly different -- a little sweeter perhaps? Once I did my usual spicing it up I couldn't taste the sweetness. The only other difference were the large onion chunks. But it was quite good. The iced coffee hit the spot too. Pho on Maui is significantly more expensive than on the mainland, not surprisingly. I think we each had a beer, so lunch for 3 of us was around $100. If you have a pho craving while on Maui, this is definitely the restaurant to visit. :-)

    (4)
  • Nancy L.

The place is clean, a little neat restaurant. We ordered pork chop grill, it is huge portion. The price is almost doubled as It is in mainland, but this is Maui. I'm glad that I found all kinds of food here actually.

  • Karla R.

I don't understand why people are giving such negative reviews! The food here is good! Granted the service could be better... but I think that's true of any Vietnamese restaurant that I've ever been to. And as far as pricing goes... it's pretty average for Vietnamese and Maui food. This has quickly become one of my "go-to" places. Worth a try if you enjoy good food at a good price.

Very pricey. Portions are so small for the prices they charged! Also felt that the dishes may be more Chinese than Vietnamese. Overall not impressed and not recommended.

I guess I am too spoiled when it comes to ethnic food. I live in San Francisco. I took my parents to this place. We ordered veggie stir fry, Vietnamese cold noodle, Merkel fish in clay pot, and house specialty fried rice. The food was too salty!! Too much soy sauce. I have been to many Vietnamese restaurants in San Francisco. They are all so much better!

This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The older gentleman (host? bus boy? waiter?) was shockingly rude! Slam down dishes, Slam down food, storm away in a rush, what in Gods name is his problem?.... You can tell he is sick of white people on vacation.

This is a quality family run place. The ingredients are fresh. We like their vegetarian summer rolls and egg rolls.

  • Judy P.

We were pleased to find a Vietnamese place in Kihei where we could get our "pho fix," but the quality of the food was so poor we were extremely disappointed. The soup base was sweet, there were few vegetables, and the fish was of poor quality, and "fishy tasting "(not fresh). The rice dish had no fresh vegetables, just bits of diced carrots and leas (probably frozen, packaged), along with a few green onions. Perhaps were spoiled, coming from the Pacific NW, but it seems there should be enough Asian people here in Maui to ensure quality. But the place was packed (with tourists) so I will not expect changes. We will NOT return.

This family owned and run restaurant is wonderful and just the kind of restaurant we love to support. The staff is super friendly and remembers us every time we come back. We were in Wailea for 2 weeks. Didn't want to eat at the hotel more than a few times, so, being adventurous, we always head out and try to find great family run places. I found this place 2 years ago, and was looking forward to seeing if it was still good. Not only was it still good, it was fantastic. We ended up coming here 5 nights out of the 15 nights in town. First off- the service. It became an ongoing joke with my family. We have never been served so quickly (every time) at any restaurant before. With the kids falling asleep from being in the water all day, it was perfect. We would literally order (and our orders were not simple- leaving bean sprouts out of spring rolls on a few orders, leaving mint and cilantro off on another order etc..)- within a few minutes they would be on the table. The fantastic spring rolls are served with a peanut sauce. We wanted fish sauce also- the server would walk into the kitchen and immediately come out with it. We never waited for anything. As the food was being put on the table, I would always say to the server "what took so long"- even though I did it every time, I don't think he ever got the joke..... On to the food. All of the veggies were fresh, crunchy, and delicious. All of the grilled meats were wonderful. The grilled shrimp were crunchy and sweet. We basically ordered the same dishes every night: -Fresh spring rolls- awesome -Shrimp lollipops- grilled ground shrimp on sugarcane. Great. -Beef burritos and grilled shrimp burritos. Amazing. You roll your own rice paper with beef or shrimp, lettuce, bean sprouts, pickled daikon and carrots (YUM), cucumbers, noodles, mint and basil, and dip in fish sauce or peanut sauce.- - Curry chicken- wow - And the best- their Pho. I'm a Pho snob. I've had it everywhere, and this one is probably the best. When I told the owner (a very nice woman that was SO sweet to us) that I loved her Pho, and I asked her if it was made with powder and MSG, she invited me into the kitchen to show me how she makes it- there was a huge pot sitting on a burner with beef bones. No MSG, no powder. This is the way to make real Pho, and most places skimp. Not here. We would go through 2 orders every night. The broth was amazing. As I'm sitting here in Chicago looking out of my windows at a snowstorm, I wish I would have brought home a few gallons of that soup.... Really a highlight of our trip. Even though my kids can barely pronounce it, every day they asked if we could go to the "viennananamese" place that night. A real gem in Kihei. Great food, great service, great prices (those reviewers that said it's expensive are completely ignorant. Maybe it's more expensive than their Taco Bell), but for great quality food it is absolutely NOT expensive by any stretch of the imagination. It is actually very inexpensive, especially given the quality and the portions. I can't wait to go back to Maui for the weather and for this place (and Koiso, and Mama's FIsh House, and the Jaws taco truck near Big Beach, and the dark chocolate banana stand near Big Beach.....)

Skip this place. Duck was the driest, toughest I ever had and I quietly and with a smile to the waitress expained that I didn't want the duck "too done" and obvioiusly I didn't use the right words, or they didn't care, or the duck had been cooked 12 hours ago and was just waiting for someone to order it. The tofu which is usually a really great treat at their "sister" restaurant in Wailuku was nothing like it. Lousy. The Vietnames place in Wailuku is awesome, not to be missed but skip this place. Crispy chicken was good though and some of the other dishes I saw go buy didn't look to bad. Overall somewhere bertween 2 and 3 stars.

The pho was poorly flavored, had an odd sweet flavor to it. I didn't even have high expectations for Vietnamese in Maui , but this place was still a let down. On top of it all , this was the most expensive bowl of pho I've ever seen in my life . Was about 30 bucks for 2 bowls. This is about twice the price you'd pay at most other pho joints . 2 stars instead of one as the service was fast and friendly. Perhaps other items on the menu might be better , but I'm not sure id be willing to take that chance. Unless you desperately need pho to cure a post Maui destination wedding hang over . I'd probably go with something else on the menu here.

Aloha. Read most of the reviews and would have to agree with most in some way but not entirely based on our first time experience. The kid wanted noodles and soup, aka PHO, she's 5 and in public school. Thought the menu was fairly well diversified, just enough but not over the top. We selected soft shell crab, combo pho and pork chop rice plate. BTW the atmosphere was nice and clean, server (lady boss) was friendly in a flat affected way, her husband(guy with panther tat) was great! Food arrived, presentation was nice, lots of fresh veg garnishes. Portions generous, so far so good. Food looked good. SS crab was good, not over the top but would order again. Pork chop was thick cut, u get 2, was flavorful and savory. Pho was ok. Maybe a bit to sweet but it did satisfy the craving. Rice was cooked perfectly. Sauces were delicious. We gave this place 3 stars because the bean sprouts that go ith the pho was brown. Should not have left the kichen EXCEPT to be thrown out. We will keep this place on our list for those cravings. Overall the food was good and service was prompt and friendly. Give it a shot, we will and if bean sprouts are fresh we will change our score to 4 stars.

Honestly after a night in "the triangle" the thing you need is some pho. this place has small portions and is expensive, but really hits the spot. Its decorated nice and is as good a pho place as any.

This is my 1st time visiting this restaurant after reading about it on Yelp. I loved to eat and my favorite food is Vietnamese. I would give this restaurant a 4-rating but since the food is quite authentic and the service is very good.

This is the best Vietnamese food in Kind I and we make it a must do each time we visit Maui. The best pho and sailing soups. Great seafood curries and fried rice dishes. Super fried calamari & thai iced tea. Place is clean and service is fun and quick!

Super Ono food! Great service. Best to go family style, lots of dishes. Deep fried shrimp, pork chops, string beans with beef, etc. Just to name a few dishes, all have great flavor. Yummy!

If you desperately need a pho fix, then this may satisfy your need. But for me who loves pho and have relatives from Vietnam, this place is just not great...Pho was pretty blend and they don't have my fav Bun Bo Hue. However, since there's just not many choices here on Maui, so I may still have to come back to get a pho fix...or just hop on the plane to get some real kind in Honolulu!

What happened to this place?!? It's only been a year and our experience this time around is completely different from last year. First off, the pho noodles that they use are not really pho noodles anymore. I wouldn't really complain so much about the noodles had it been cooked properly. First night we landed on Maui, we decided to head over to our fav joint for dinner and was so disappointed. All of our noodles came out semi-hard in the middle. If you've ever had real pho, you would know what I'm talking about. Anyway, we left that evening somewhat grumbling but chalked it off as one off night. Three days later, we went back again cuz we so wanted it to remain our fav Vietnamese joint in Maui. It all started going down hill when the waiter messed up our order. One order of large #18 and one order of small #18 became two orders of small #18. One order of claypot became *two* orders of claypot! Um... why would I want two claypots for one person?! And then, when we ordered a cup of hot Vietnamese coffee, the same waiter decided to make it iced. Now if everything tasted good, we could let some of it go but... Pho: still undercooked, dry-tasting, and too thick. bean sprouts were totally fugly and unappetizing Claypot w/ rice: salty and the chicken was dried Chicken claypot: terrible. way too salty and chicken was dried up! You can't imagine how disappointed our entire family was with this place on this trip. We really liked the service and the food last time but after this year's experience, I doubt we'll be going back.

My hubby and I had a bad experience here. We searched in Yelp and found the restaurant reviews are good, so we decided to have dinner there. The food is still OK. Hawaii fish is over cooked, so it tasted a little bit tough. The service is really bad. After serving a cup of water, we asked for more, but no one replied to us. Furthermore, before we finished the plate, a waiter tried to take the plate away! It was just around 9pm, and the restaurant should close at 10pm. I don't see why they were so in a hurry. The worst is that the tip (18%) was added automatically without our authorization. It should be up to the customer to decide how much tip to be paid based on the service. It is so rude to treat customers like it. I never met this situation in any other restaurants before. We were kind of shocked at that time.

Worst meal on Maui. Hubby had House Fried Rice. Boring! I had Stir Fried Rice Noodles with Chicken. The noodles were lumped together so that the sauce couldn't even mix through them. Some were still crunchy! Very dissapointed!

Sorry..this is only applicable if you've actually have had authentic Vietnamese food....(or if you actually have a working palate). It's probably a decent place for most....most dead people....but unfortunately I still have a pulse. Pho Ga - not sure what i was eating...the chicken was dated, and broth still had ice crystals..lovely. The Fish in Clay Pot - burnt, hot, hard, and I'm sure it wasn't fish as well. It also says something when no one in the place speaks Vietnamese.. Let me just suggest...if you're craving something different b/c you're tired of eating local food OR other alternatives are just too expensive...let me suggest "starving" OR just buy a 40 ounce bottle of Mickeys to help you just pass out so you can skip a meal - before you think about this place....

Disappointed with the vermicelli bowls. The grilled pork bowl turned out to be a grilled slab of spam. Both of our bowls had a large amount of sprouts. The summer rolls (called spring rolls elsewhere) were decent. They include an interesting tapioca dessert with every meal for free.

We happened upon this restaurant as we left the nearby Kihei post office and strolled about. We'd overlooked breakfast, and it was past time for lunch. We entered another eatery, took a quick look about and left, but we read the menu at this restaurant and it looked promising. With thanks to Harold for his guidance on the menu, I enjoyed chicken won ton, spring rolls and chicken fried rice. Harold brought a few other morsels I'd never tried before, and I appreciated the taste of every sample. My wife and I had a fine lunch, and I unhesitatingly recommend this restaurant to others.

This place was amazing!!! And the service was excellent!! The Thai tea was tasty and the Vietnamese burritos were off the hook!! I am from California and pho places are everywhere out here, but my family and I recently traveled to Maui and this place it def a must try!!! I had the beef ball Pho and so did my husband. My dad had the pork chops and those were delicious too! My daughters had egg noodle chicken soup and even that was delish! And my husband and I shared the vietnamese steak burritos and those were awesome! The lady who was working was nice enough to make them for us at our table since it was our first time to ever try them! The dipping sauce is to die for!! Anything you get off the menu will probably be tasty so enjoy if you live here or vacation here!!!

  • Lyn P.

I don't do pho (especially in 85+ degree weather) so I got the bun (vermicelli noodle salad) with fried spring rolls and grilled beef. Plus the salad rolls. I am happy to report that the food here is just like you would get back home on the mainland in a legit Vietnamese place. Yay! Will definitely be back here when I return to Maui next year,

    (4)
  • Eric R.

Marginal. It's a fine place if to go if you are craving Vietnamese but don't expect to be impressed by the food. I would give it a two in my hometown, but I'm pretty sure it's the only Vietnamese place in the area, so it gets 3. On the plus side, there's lots of parking in the lot and you can easily walk over to the Ono Gelato (for gelato) or McD's (for a coconut pie) for dessert.

Everything we ordered was very flavorful and completely satisfied our craving for some decent Asian food which is quite difficult to find in Maui. We ordered the fried spring rolls, crispy noodles w/ beef, and pork in claypot... all were yummy good! I was also pleased to find they have the authentic Vietnamese iced coffee w/ condensed milk -- nice and strong. Service was fast and very efficient. We'll definitely be back here next time we're in Maui.

Cheap eats, not the best Vietnamese Cuisine, and not the worst. I had there spring rolls, Pho and overall nothing great about it and nothing bad, very neutral on this. I don't want to give a negative review because my expectations of pleasing my palette drops significantly on this island so my standards are lowered. It is inexpensive and something different to have on the island.

We had an amazing meal here. Had opi fish @ 16.95 - simply amazing. I tried the lemon grass- solid dish. Had some other cold noodle dish which also was tasty. Overall- you can't go wrong here.

For our dinner-for-four, we found all the foods were reasonably good, with one outstanding dish: whole fried fish. Sorry I forgot the fish name, but when we were ordering and asked which fish to choose, they recommended this local Hawaian fish over the usual mainland choices. Service was very friendly.

They have a couple of good things going for them. 1.Service 2.Location But the food needs improvement My food was great. I had the Hot and Sour Soup, I guess the famous Vietnamese style soup. But, my friends didn't like theirs. They say 2 stars. They had Pho and it was bad. When you ask for Chicken, you are not supposed to get chicken with beef broth. And no flavor!! So, 2 stars you get. Sorry. Get the food up to par and you have a wonderful place.

Come here whenever on Maui. We've learned to order one meal to eat in and another to take bak to condo in Laheina . Clean, quick friendless service and excellent cookery!!! Always spiced just right. Especially love the green papaya salad? OMG!! So good!

Picked up dinner here lastnight. We had the crispy chicken & ofcourse summer rolls.!! I love summer rolls and this place makes it really good!! The crispy chicken was awesome. And plenty of it. It came with steam jasmine rice. Dinner total of $18.00. That fed 3 adults and a child... The price is right to me.! While waiting for our dinner, an older man and a lady was friendly.. Very smiley.! And even gave my daughter candy while waiting.. And we got tapioca on the side. It's a sweet coconut dessert.!! I don't know if it usually comes with the meal but it did with ours.!!! Will be back to sit down and enjoy the quiet and simple lay back atmosphere...

We came here for lunch and sorry to say, I've experienced a lot better. - we came in around 1 or 1:30 PM. there were only two people acting as waiters and the wait to get them to take our order was quite long. we kept trying to flag someone down but they would literally zoom past us. i think they should hire someone in addition, at least for the lunch rush. - i tried the fresh spring rolls and those were average, no real complaints. - i ordered the won ton ga (won ton chicken), i believe the cost was about $8.95 and I don't think what I got justified the price. It was just a bowl of won tons and pieces of chicken. I think there were about 5 won tons in there and they didn't taste all that great. The chicken pieces in the soup were not very tasty either. Perhaps it's my fault that I didn't order something else...like pho...or bun. - They gave my table two mangos at the end (not cut up). do they do that to everyone or was it a form of apology for the slow service? not sure, but the mangos were tasty when we ate them at home later.

We come here every time we're in Maui because the food is great and reasonably priced; often hard to find on Maui. The restaurant is in a strip mall but is tastefully decorated and has a nice ambience. This time we had the Lemongrass Chicken appetizer which was perfectly barbecued and served with lettuce leaf, mint, and noodles. We followed that with Beef Vermicelli Noodle with Spring Rolls, and Mahi Mahi Curry. The spring rolls were excellent but the Mahi was a little too spicy for me. It was a great find a few years ago and we'll be back again next time.

Love this restaurant, the food is great, but the staff are amazing. I have now eaten here twice with my husband. I am strictly vegan and the hubbie eats fish. I explained how important to me it was that no animals or their products in my food please. The owner explained that everything was made to order and this would not be a problem at all. Allan had the crispy Mahi which he loved, and I had an amazing vegetable curry with rice. Delicious. On our second night there the food was again delicious, fresh and fabulous. If your looking for nice, home cooked Vietnamese food on Maui this is the place.

We tried the eggplant and one of the "burritos" (wrap rice paper around your choice of ingredients and dip). Both were great.

Love the food here. I could eat their chicken Vietnamese "burritos" all day long. They are something so simple, yet so amazing. My husband is crazy about their Clay Pots! :) The last time we were there, I was sick and got their Rice noodle chicken soup. The broth and noodles were amazing. Next time I'm going to try the shrimp version! YUM!

I came here for dinner with my family around 9 p.m., 30 minutes before the posted closing time. The two employees/owners were very happy to seat us, and overall we received excellent service. For example, for any appetizer that was served with a sauce, our waiter brought a separate sauce container for each diner. The food was very tasty. I particularly liked the hot and sour soup and the lemongrass curry chicken.

We stopped here on our way to Paia driving up from La Perouse Bay. Don't be fooled by the strip mall location and nondescript exterior. We went for lunch, and the place was empty. Service was prompt, the Vietnamese lady owner friendly and sweet. We ordered a green papaya salad, Vietnamese grilled tofu burritos and a Thai ice tea. All three were excellent, but the burritos..oh my. For 12.95, you get get 6 rice paper rolls, a bowl of warm water to soften up the rice paper, a ramekin of sweet garlic dipping sauce, and a plate full of lettuce, carrots, daikon, cucumber, bean sprouts, vermicelli, fresh mint sprigs, and the best grilled tofu I've ever had. (Not sure what was in that barbeque sauce, but I'd eat it from a spoon.) You add a little bit of everything to your burrito, dip it into the sauce, take a bit and float straight to heaven. Go to VC. Eat the burritos. Come back and write a review.

We asked the waiter what was good and ordered 2 of dishes he recommended. The lemongrass mahi-mahi was awful, the crispy chicken wasn't much better. There are so many wonderful places to eat on the island, don't waste your time or $ here. On a positive note, the wait staff was very friendly and the food came out incredibly quick.

  • Francis K.

nice restaurant run by nice people. it's not gourmet nor is it the best vietnamese food i've ever had but it's reasonably priced and food was good. the vietnamese "burritos" are more like "wraps" and were pretty tasty. some of the veggies were not as fresh as we are used to in california but for a casual, inexpensive meal, it did the job.

Good food, quick service, and reasonable prices. Chef was able to whip up some of my favorites that were not on the menu. I liked it so much, went back three more times during the week. Its not a super fancy place but I don't want to get bogged down with fancy anyway. Its great cheap eats.

First, the proprietress heard our raspy voices, realized we had colds and brought us hot tea with lemon and ginger. How sweet is that? We ordered the Hot Sour Soup- very different from Chinese style, but awesome. The lemongrass curry with Mahi was delish. Not much in the way of decor/ambience, but very comfortable.

  • Dan T.

This place was delicious. We had the Pork Claypot, which I have never had before (Most of the Vietnamese places in soCal don't have this), Opi fish, the Goi Cuon, crispy noodles, and Lemongrass Chicken, and seafood soup. All four of us devoured it all. Very nice find for Maui.

A real family joint--you can tell the owner an matriarch runs a tight ship. The place is meticulously clean; there's not a speck of dust on any of the crystal chandeliers and wall sconces. I got the "Thai Pho" which was amaaazing. Nice touch-- a little cup of tapioca pudding when the check comes. :)

The worst experience ever at any restaurant period. I was excited to come back to this restaurant after we visited it last year twice and liked the Pho. So today, we went there for an early dinner. We ordered pho, beef cubes, and the Vietnamese Hot and Sour Mahi Mahi Hotpot soup. When the waiter brought out our food, he brought out a dish we didn't recognize. It looked to be a sweet and sour dish stir-fry dish. We said, that is not what we ordered. We ordered the Vietnamese Hot and Sour Hotpot. He stood there are argued with us and insisted that we ordered the dish he brought and refused to take it back. After 5 minutes of arguing back and forth, my daughter who was the one who ordered the dish, said, whatever and kept the dish. I started to tell him in Vietnamese that this is not what we ordered but still he was not giving in. I knew that my daughter would not be happy accepting a dish that she did not order and would not eat it. Finally, another waiter came over and said he will get us the correct dish. At this point, we were all very upset and it ruined out dinner. By the time the correct dish came out, my daughter have already been so upset that she lost her appetite. We tasted the broth from the dish and the Mahi Mahi and it tasted terrible. Tasted like watered down water with no flavor and the Mahi Mahi was very fishy. My daughter was so upset from the whole experience, she excused herself from the table and left the restaurant. The waiter had the audacity to come back and asked why she didn't eat much of her soup. So we paid $13.95 for a dish that we didn't eat. Being Vietnamese, I have learned to accept that service at Vietnamese restaurants are horrible but this by far was the WORST experience ever at any restaurant. What waiter argues with the customer when they wrote down the wrong order and refuse to bring the correct order? We will NEVER go back to this restaurant when we go to Maui again. The restaurant in Lahaina Saigon Cafe has much better food and service. The pho this time was horrible. I think the cook changed or the owner changed because it did not tasted like the pho we had last time we ate here. Regardless, the whole experience was so HORRIBLE that we will tell everyone we meet in Maui to never go to this restaurant.

  • Alfie W.

Food was "ok" at best. However Service was HORRIBLE, they give so much attitude if you ask anything. For example, my step-mom asked for the bean sprouts to be steam cooked, the waiter with the tattoo on his right forearm took it as such an insult and gave SOOO much attitude. Will not return, and I do not recommend anybody going. The food not the best i've had, and close to the worst i've had. It was also pricey for vietnamese food.

    (1)
  • Kazoua T.

My dad was tired of what we have been eating so we came here for a late lunch. A bowl of combo pho is around $11. This is the most expensive bowl of pho ever!!! (Will never hesitate to pay for $8/bowl in Cali.) The broth is overly sweet and they must grow their own bean sprouts because they are nothing like those in the states. The husband, I don't know what he was thinking but don't ever order a pan fried crispy noodle dish. I had the egg roll and beef with rice vermicelli. Their nuoc cham is not good. I could have made a better version at home. Come here only if desperate for vietnamese food. Oh yeah...and service sucks... especially the white dude who gave us our menus. Dude...the place is 90% empty. Put a freakin smile on your face!

This low-key, family-run restaurant has a large menu of authentic Vietnamese specialties. The food is good, and and it's a convenient place to have an Asian meal if you are staying in Kihea. I only tried a couple of dishes, but I was happy with what I ordered, and would eat here again. Good selection of Asian beers. Hours 10:00am-9:30pm daily.

We stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Since the reviews were mixed, I worried that the experience might be, too. Not so. We tried the shredded papaya salad and a lemongrass noodle bowl with eggrolls. All was comparable to my favorite Denver/Federal boulevard vietnamese spots. Vegetables were fresh and every part of our meal was well-executed. In addition, they have their own restrooms unlike the restaurant next door (Home Maid Bakery) which requires you to leave "collateral" to use their bathroom key. The decor is classic...glass tables with hanging paper lanterns and too much brass....but although it is not my design style, you do feel like you entered a foreign spot for a while - which is not all that bad given that the whole point is to bask in some good ethnic food and a 'new' experience. I will make a point to try the clay pots - they looked awesome. incidentally, the table next to us said their Pho was AWESOME. Total bill for two entrees, an icy cold vietnamese bottled beer and a kid's shirley temple...$30 incl gratuity. three of us ate and were happily sated. I'm a fan!

  • Kate J.

This restaurant deserves a zero. Service is appalling. Dismissive, rude, inattentive and sloppy. The food was disgusting, but they must be making some effort at recycling because the pho is clearly made with dishwater. They served us burned springrolls - I mean come ON! By far the worst Vietnamese food I have ever put in my face.

  • Mark N.

Awesome mahi mahi curry, ice coffee is authentic Vietnamese and the pho was outstanding! Service quick and extremely friendly! Bathroom very clean. Looks like nothing from the outside, and the decor inside is nothing special, but the food is great, hence my 5 stars!

Pho is a little bit too sweet for me. Reasonable price. Anyway, good place to hit if you stay in Kihei and are interested in Asian food. Honestly I did not find a lot fun in food during my stay.

After a nice long day driving to Hana and being a little chilled due to the torrential rainfall I thought some Pho would be good to warm us up. It wasn't bad, but I've had a lot better. The service was fine and the shrimp clay pot dish was pretty tasty.

I absolutely la la la la looooveeee this place! I am a hugeee pho fan and whenever I hit up vietnamese places I always get either pho or bun. However, this is an exception...I wouldn't say they have the best pho...but not the worst either. As much as I love this place, I'll be honest..I don't come here for the pho. You must get the crispy garlic shrimp with the shells on. DELICIOUS! It comes out nice and crispy..very tasty with lots of ginger and onions all over the shrimp served ona bed of lettuce. This must be eaten with the hot sauce (the one with the rooster) SOO GOOD! Everytime I come back home to Maui I must stop here. I have never had/found this type of shrimp anywhere..probably becaue it's soo good people can't replicate it. Also, what I really like is their bbq chicken vermicelli noodles (aka bun). This bbq chicken is soo moist and delicious..again not like the other chicken you find. I'd say most all their dishes are pretty good. I always come and eat those two things..the opakapaka, shrimp fried rice and crispy egg noodle are good too. Most vietnamese places are not too good on service...but I think this place is good. The owner and her workers are very friendly...they always remember my family and I and know our orders by heart. To top it off the coconut tapioca is delish also! can't find this other places too. YUMMO

The reviews here are mixed. But my wife and I were pleased with the quality of the food we ordered. We had the Garlic Chicken, which while not up to the French Vietnamese we had back in the day, it was till excellent. And as far as the Rice in Claypot, this was something I had been missing as the so called Vietnamese restaurants around us didn't know how to do it. We were quite pleased. The next time we're in Kihei we'll be sure to go again.

Wow! Found this place by accident. Was in the mood for sushi down the way..but decided to try this location. I had the rare steak pho. Everything was good about it. My wife had the rice clay pot. Tasty!!! It was so good we went twice in one week during our stay on Maui! We will return and recommend next time we are in town!

  • Tracy M.

If I lived near Kihei, I think I'd eat at this restaurant once a week just to check for consistency. Not really! I'd eat there because we really enjoyed the very fresh dishes, to include the opakapaka, the bun and the wait staff. The fact that the place (including restrooms) was clean and felt happy was a huge plus. I want to eat there again, soon. I loved it and the others in our party did too. I loved being given tapioca as a dessert in the end but was sorry it was served in little disposable plastic bowls. Woops, was that a complaint? Yeah, well, I just hate disposable plastic, that's all.

We ordered combo pho, papaya salad, family style crispy chx. All was good... We were with our 19 mo old and the owner treated us like family bringing wipes when our baby touched food with fish sauce, bowls for her soup, all where some other places you had to ask, this place we were taken care of. Any establishment that takes care of my family is a good place for me!

Great Pho! So good I went twice in the week I was there. The only problem eating Pho in Hawaii is that with 85 degree weather and the hot sauce, you really start to sweat. The place was air conditioned well, but when you walk outside, you are really hot. The broth was great and the portions equal to other Pho shops. The staff was very friendly with good service. The kicker is the tapioca pudding at the end. If you are in Kihei and need a great bowl of noodles, this is the place to go.

I love Vietnamese food and the food at Vietnamese Cuisine is some of the best I think I have had, beside being in Vietnam I mean. The Pork in a Claypot (Thit Kho To) is amazing and my personal favorite. The lemon grass chicken (Bun Ga Xao) is also one of my 'musts' when eating at VC. It's fun to drink a glass of fresh coconut juice with your meal which compliments the spicy burning mouth factor quite nicely. Service is super quick, though sometimes it's hard to understand the servers harsh Vietnamese accents, our orders always come out correct. One small issue I do have is that they use MSG, I never thought to ask about this but I get all itchy when I eat MSG and sure enough after eating at VC on our last visit I became itchy all over. Next time I will just ask for my meal w/o MSG.

Reading the one other review that is posted for this place, I questioned if we were at the same restaurant. I was just here last night, and had a GREAT meal. Everything on the menu was cheap, but it was also super fresh. Fish, meats, veggies, it all tasted fresh and was perfectly cooked. The staff was friendly and answered our questions, and our water glasses were always full. We started with an order of the Vegetarian Spring Rolls, which were served two to an order, but they were enormous. I prefer the smaller ones I'm used to, but the flavors were great, including the peanut sauce that was served with it that had some hoisin sauce mixed in. Next up was the Rare Lemonbeef Salad, which was certainly rare, but delicious. Served in a salad with carrots and cucumbers, with Shrimp Chips on the side, it was so good! Main courses included the Opakapaka in Ginger Sauce, Vietnamese Chicken Soup, and Tofu with Vegetables. The fish tasted so fresh, like it was caught that day. And the sauce it was in was great, with a kick of ginger and not at all oily. The soup was also great, it had a wonderful flavor, lots of veggies, and big pieces of white meat chicken in there. This is a great place to come with a large or small group to get a delicious meal at a fraction of the price you would pay elsewhere on the island. I will certainly be coming back here next time I'm in Maui!

My husband and I went here for dinner last night. I gave them 4 stars but this is really a 3.5 star rating. Their vietnamese burrito is delicious, but they're not generous with the portions. We also tried their rice in a clay pot. It's okay. Not great like I was led to believe. In the end, we thought this was a very decent local vietnamese restaurantl one that I would frequent regularly if I lived on the island. If you're looking for healthy, reasonably priced wondeful vietnamese food, you cab come here for your fix.

Yelpers, if you are staying in Kihei, try this place! Not much of an atmosphere here, but VERY friendly service, great quality of food and an excellent value. We came back twice and everything we had was very fresh and delicious, but I especially recommend their green papaya salad and lemon grass beef noodle bowl. Fresh lemonade and tapioca pudding are delicious too. Everything is very tasty, all the greens are fresh and crunchy, no wilted mint or spotted lettuce here... And they sent some super sweet pineapple home with us for an after-dinner snack, how awesome is that? So 5 stars all the way. Try them, you won't regret it.

Upon entering the hostess hardly acknowledged me as a person or a patron. I asked her about lunch specials for the day and she directed me next door.

I was just craving pho and this place really hit the spot. QUICK service...it's nice to have a choice of a nice portion and a HUGE portion of pho (for just a dollar more!). We liked it so much we went back for lunch with the family the very next day

Best find in Kihei! Great food and not short on portions. Great prices for Maui. The Pho is flavorful and the crispy chicken and beef plate is delicious. Very attentive staff. We make this a must every time we visit Maui. The owner is the sweetest lady and she makes the best coconut tapioca!

This place rocks. No frill fantastic food. We ha the pho and a beef burrito. The burrito is a summer wrap or wraps that you get to put together, I absolutely loved it. I would go so far as to say this is a must do in Maui. The pho was a little sweeter than I expected, but amazing nevertheless.

I am always craving pho and it is what I look for always when we travel regardless of our travel location. I consider myself a sort of pho connoisseur and therefore have higher than normal expectations for "good" pho. It also has to do with my Vietnamese heritage as well so maybe this place didn't have a chance with me. Anywho...the first night we were in Maui, I found that this place was close to our hotel so we decided to try it out. The pho was terrible!! There was absolutely no flavor to the broth. It might as well have been brown water in noodles. The bowl was tiny and it cost roughly $10.00. I do not mind paying the $10.00 had the pho been edible. That was unfortunately not the case. My husband ordered his go to grilled pork chops with rice. The pork chops were super thin and was overcooked making it super dry. There was no taste to it whatsoever. It was like they fried it because there was absolutely no charcoal smell to it. After our disappointing dinner here, we had to revert to buying TV dinners at the local supermarket. Disastrous.

Very consistent.. Super casual... Priced appropriately.. Love the "shrimp pop burrito" ( a roll your own summer roll ) a good split snack for 2, and the lemongrass vermicelli bowl is spicy and tangy... Great thai iced tea too.

Oh I wish this was better. We ordered quickly and the food came out very very fast. That should have been the clue. There are certain dishes that should take more than 10 minutes to prepare and plate. Thit Kho, Canh Chua and a shrimp dish. For some reason that dishes were very very sweet. The highlight of the meal was the salty lemonade but it's an acquired taste.

When I first entered this restaurant, the odor of urine wafted up my nose. My husband said, no, it's not urine but a musty smell. Anyway, not an auspicious beginning. I almost walked out. However, the smell improved once the food arrived. The musty smell was replaced by much more welcome odors of pho and fried pork chops. The food was solid. Not great, but not bad either. It was good to eat something light for a change. I would have rated three stars but for the smell.

If I could rate this place with a zero, I would. This is the worst Vietnamese food I've eaten. I tried wonton soup, didn't like it. I ordered grilled pork, bun, spring rolls, etc. The grilled pork was probably kalua pig or spam...It was gross. Restaurant owners were in the back talking about us, not the Aloha spirit you often get in other restaurants. One guy touched my friend's lettuce to demonstrate how she should eat the food. If you're in Maui, looking for vietnamese food, try some other place.

Fabulous Vietnamese cuisine, some of the best I've had, and as good as my favorite place in Chinatown in Manhattan (Nha Trang on Baxter St). Plus - its such a relief after all the bad & expensive food in Maui. We went there twice in the week we were on Maui, and were pleased each time. We ordered the fresh spring rolls, the grilled beef and fried spring roll noodle bowl, sweet and sour crispy shrimps (their sweet and sour sauce is insanely good), vietnamese beef chow fun, and everything was great. Service was also impeccable - fast, pleasant, and the second time we were there the waiter remembered us and what we ordered previously.
