I always go to the kailua location and get the fried rice. I was in the area and decided to get some fried rice. Bad idea. I paid 10 bucks for a plate of overly sweet rice. Hardly any meat at all, except for soggy bacon fat, that i couldnt eat. It was like they put bacon in the rice before frying the bacon first. Worst fried rice id ever had. My bf got the teri chicken, and it tasted not so fresh. We threw all of our food away. I put two stars because my daughters blueberry pancakes were ok. Lots of blueberries. And the service was ok. Never going back. Waste money.

Very roomy and pretty clean. The space is comfortable and it feels like I stepped in a family hometown diner. The food was good and fresh. I had the teri-chicken and their famous fried rice. Portions were generous, the chicken was moist and flavorful, and the fried rice was unusually tasty...little hint of teriyaki sauce. The meal came with a side of toast which was buttery and slightly sweet (I think they used a Japanese white bread) and I added another side order of a single buttermilk pancake. The pancake was lighter, slightly thinner than most other places who make buttermilk pc. There was a slight crust to it that made me want to eat more of it...almost like the McD's french fries where you look for the over cooked, extra crispy ones at the bottom of the pile. Overall my dining experience was enjoyable and pleasant. I came out very satisfied and the cost was reasonable. I would go back again.

Horrible horrible horrible. Our server, Debbie, was grumpy and unprofessional. Either she's an amateur at waiting tables or is too burnt out and should retire already. (The hostess was very nice though. She should teach Aunty some manners) My food came out cold, and tasted so gross. Local-style places need to get with the times, already. We are sick of cheap ingredients. Margarine? Who even eats that anymore? (Beware, Times plops a rice scoop sized blob of it on your "from scratch" pancakes.) It's sad when you can get a better breakfast at Koa or Zippys. Never again

I was very happy to find out that my favorite breakfast place in Kailua has another location in Kaneohe. Service at this location is prompt and friendly, and the food portions are generous. As a creature of habit, I had to order their loco moco with fried rice on my first visit. The hamburger patty is homemade, and just as tasty and filling as the Kailua location. Looks like I found my favorite breakfast place in Kaneohe! :)

Great for breakfast and lunch. Personally I really enjoy the teri cheese burger with extra crispy home fried potatoes. The burger is home made not frozen like teddys bigger burger. The breakfast is also really good, we always opt for the sweet fried rice instead of regular rice. The corned beef hash patty, homemade ceasar salad dressing, and chopped chicken are also worth trying.

We woke up late and were wanting breakfast, yet lacked ingredients at home. When he suggested Times Coffee Shop for omelets, I happily agreed. Parking was a breeze (as usual) at Temple Valley. I had the corned beef hash patty with two easy eggs , sub fried rice. The beef hash patty was NOT beloved canned Libby's, but something different- and definitely canned.. not BAD, but not Libby's. Only one of the two fried eggs were runny/easy, the other was over hard (but HEY! It was cheap! .. And it's a diner!) The fried rice was aight. He had the mahi with two eggs ($8.95) with potatoes. He ate everything. E V E R Y T H I N G. We each had coffee. I think our grand total was around $26- bank was not broke. Overall, I enjoyed having breakfast and doing the morning crossword at Times Coffee Shop. Cheehoo!

We ordered breakfast from this place this past weekend, the food overall was average-good. I ordered Portuguese sausage, scrambled eggs and potatoes. My boyfriends ordered the corn beef hash with eggs and rice. He liked the corn beef hash but said it was a little mushy. I'm guessing its from a can, so if your expecting real corn beef its not. If your looking for a quick average breakfast i would recommend this place, I'll probably be back again.

I love the homey, old school feeling of this Shop, with the uncles just sitting around in the morning, chit chatting over the news paper and a cup of coffee. The servers there have all been good, quick service with a nice attitude. Food is best breakfast around Kaneohe. I Love their FRIED RICE! A bit sweet, but the rice is never mushy which I think is key to good fried rice... Support local mom and pop places like this you wont be disappointed!

I went for breakfast ordered the all time special which was just under $10, this included 2 eggs, fried rice, 4 slices if toast and a choice of meat (I got the hash patty). I also ordered 1 chocolate chip pancake for $3.50. My bf ordered french toast and home fried potatoes. The pancake had a crust on the outside and the inside was so soft and fluffy. Everything tasted homemade was seasoned perfectly and amazing.

Now this is how a restaurant supposed to be. Fast and friendly service. Ono licious- Teri chix with fried rice and hamburger steak with homemade patties. 2 compete meals for only $22. Nice and clean. Just perfect dining experience. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Good food...good service...small town feeling. Ate the mahimahi ceasar salad and onion rings. Onion rings were just the way I like...lightly battered = HapPee! My son likes the roast pork with gravy over. They have a great hamburger steak and I heard the fried rice is awesome (gotta try that next time). Supporting local businesses is key to having a productive community.

Ended up here meeting with an awesome friends mom and son. I have only been in the area to watch movies at the Koolau theaters and didnt know this place existed. Being new I asked what is good here and the fried rice and roast pork was recommended. The menu is quite simple and basic. Pancakes were not recommended even though I love it I followed the advice. I ordered the roast pork, the food came out quite quickly and it was good. Very soft and fall off the bone if there was bones to fall off of. The fried rice was interesting not the traditional type but tastes like teri sauce, a bit on the sweet side. I just had to order it because it was highly recommended by my buddy Josh but it didnt quite match with the pork and brown gravy. The restaurant is taken care of and decently clean, employees were nice, young and as motivated as youngens could be without an energy drink. The pounding of the halau next door was fun. Prices are quite reasonable and portions are sizeable. If I am in the area I just may pull the trigger again but wont go out of my way to come back.

While staying in Kaneohe during my last visit to Oahu, I went to Times Coffee Shop practically every morning. It was conveniently close to where I was staying and offered really simple yet very satisfying breakfast. Besides the meat, eggs and rice breakfast dishes, their banana pancakes are pretty awesome. The coffee is great, the prices are cheap, there is hardly a wait, the staff is so kind, and of course the food is good. I really like the place. Yummy stuff.

Is the food here AMAZING? Umm, no. Is the service 5 star? Also, no. Is the ambience/atmosphere of the highest standard? Pffft. Ok, so here's the thing (for those of you with complaints): I'm not quite sure how anyone can pay six or seven dollars for a meal and expect Alan Wong's or Hy's. It's a C O F F E E S H O P, people! It says so right in the name!! It's written on the door when you come in AND on the cover of every menu in the place. So here's the other thing: My father passed away a little over a year ago and is buried in the Valley of the Temples (across Kahekili from Times). After visiting his grave one day, my son and I ventured to the Koolau Center to see what they had and found this coffee shop. We sat down, I opened the menu and the first thing I saw was corned beef and onions. I had to ask the waitress if the corned beef was the canned type. She kind of giggled and said it was. I think to her surprise, I immediately ordered it. When I was growing up, my dad made three "dishes" on the rare occasion that he had to cook. Pork and beans, peanut butter and condensed milk sandwiches and canned corned beef and onions. I have NEVER seen that on ANY menu ANYWHERE and truthfully, it tasted just like my dad's. Now, am I just being nostalgic? Yeah, probably. But the truth of the matter is, when I said it tasted just like my dad's, I meant it was pretty good. The waitress who served us was pleasant and even if she didn't stand by us and refill our water glasses with every sip, she IS getting paid minimum wage plus tips on a $15 average tab. The decor isn't Nobu's or Roy's but more like Flamingo's, Coco's or Columbia Inn which were good enough for our parents and if you're in the mood for that, good enough for us. So really, ease up a bit and take things for what they are. You'll be a lot happier. On a side note, do I think it's weird that I would be eating something my father used to cook for me as a little kid in a restaurant I had never been to across the street from where he rests immediately after a visit? Well, all I have to say to that is, "Thanks Dad."

This place has okay food for a cheap price. I ate the half order of fried rice; it's very sweet and it's not one of my favorites. If you're one who prefers sweeter fried rice then this is the place for you. I also tried the bacon cheeseburger, it was ordinary and there wasn't anything special about it.

Cheap breakfast, and great service! I go usually every weekend for breakfast, and get the same thing every time: veggie omlet, fried rice, wheat toast, Apple juice, and coffee. Love it. !!! Super roomy and chill.

OK, not too many places opened at 730pm in Temple Valley. Stopped in for a quick dinner. Server was very personable, accommodated our party of 9 very quickly. Pancakes are good. Omelettes and fried rice were OK. Corn beef hash, Teri Chicken, saimin and hamburger steak were decent. Portions were very generous! Quick and good service. Atmosphere was comfy/home and clean. Decent place for the money.

This place needs to hang a sign outside saying "extreme patience and understanding required." With that being said, this is a true story with no exaggeration. A friend and I decided to get breakfast here before he had to go to work. We arrived at 9:10 and had about an hour to eat. We got seated quickly because the restaurant was about 40% full at most. We do eat here often and already knew what we wanted so ordering was fast as well. 45 MINUTES LATER WE GET OUR FOOD! Surprisingly, the order was wrong. My friend had ordered fried rice and was presented with a plate with white rice. We kindly asked the waitress to have the food to-go because it had taken way longer than anticipated and instead of being apologetic, the waitress made it seem as though it was our fault?! The story doesn't end here. We get our to-go plates and she hands it to us saying which plate is which. We get up, pay and even are kind enough to leave a tip. I drive home upset about the whole thing but I try to get over it and not let it start my day off bad but just then - my friend calls and says "brah, did you look at your plate?" Don't even tell me.... So now we have each other's food. At this point I need to complain and give the manager a heads up because this is just unacceptable. I phone in and ask to speak to a manager. There is a pause and the person on the phone says "okay, go ahead" as if I were placing an order. I responded, "oh, are you the manager?" She responded, "oh no, she's busy right now." I said I'd call back later and I was abruptly hung up on. UNREAL. I don't usually like eating here because I don't think the food is all that great but my friend likes it so I meet him half way and in all honesty, I will never eat here again. If you like terrible service, for decent food that takes 45 minutes to prepare, then this is a place for you. Otherwise, I suggest going to the store and cooking your own breakfast for half the price in half the time without the headache.

I will say this... Why is this only at 3 stars?! Is it their fault you're too lazy to cook breakfast?! You're expecting cinnamons (overrated with bad service)?! This is Kahaluu. You came out to breakfast because you were too lazy to make it yourself. It's always busy... because its a 4 start establishment! So expect to wait for seats. Its Hawaii... People are gonna sit and talk with their families for breakfast. The service is a little slower. I rather have it that way. Support the mom and pop places. They don't try and rush you out of your chair so they can serve someone else. They want you to enjoy your breakfast. The prices are beyond reasonable... Why? Because once again you were too lazy to cook your own breakfast. The portions are generous. The food is tasty! Nothing cutting edge. Just the regular. Oh... and I LOVE to eat at places where they make you feel like you're appreciated for deciding to spend your hard earned dollars with them. Meaning... There is NO attitude from the service staff... They don't treat you like you should be paying them to eat there. Like some other spots on the windward side. Yah... I'm so over these bad ratings... 5 stars! From a true 96744.5 citizen!

It has become a tradition for my parents to take my wife and me here for lunch after they pick us up at the airport, on our way home to Kahalu'u. A long time ago, my tradition was to hit Zippy's on the way home from the airport, but no more! I've known Sharon (Higa) for a long time (we used to work together at Orson's in Ward Warehouse), and she's always been warm and friendly with my parents too, when they go eat there from time to time. She is the best waitress! My regular order is always the fried rice. It is, in a word, the BOMB! My wife likes to explore the menu a bit, but I found what I need. Not sure why the other customers give them a hard time... their food is really good, and yes, they are a local "diner". Would you rather have a fast-food joint that concentrates on the bottom line rather than the quality of the food? No way bruddah! Whatever it is Times Coffee Shop is doing, keep doing it. And I will keep coming back every year when I return to the islands!

Went to pick up some mothersday take out here since it was super packed overall service was nice a quick. I do have to say it was one of the worse hamburger pattys I have ever had, ordered a fried rice loco moco which everything but the hamburger patty was good the patty it self made me unable to swallow it as it was I untasteful and bland and the meat tasted as if it has had freezer burn or something it was just terrible.

Just a quick review. There is not much to say except that they are great. This is probably the only place wife and I go to that never let's us down. Friendly people, fair prices, nice quantity and quality of their food. I want to note; they are a family business. I think that is what makes them good. I believe it is the family pride. Yes, I remain loyal. They really try hard. If you visit my other reviews you will see I grade very hard. The 5 starts I give is because they care, and work hard.

I'm not sure why so many people rate this place so poorly. First of all it is a diner. Second of all it is a pretty great diner! Sister says get their burger -- she says it rivals some of her fave places in NYC. I got the mahi mahi burger, and it was well seasoned but the fish was a bit over cooked. Sister's bf had eggs and fish, and said the eggs did not taste good at all, but the rest of the dish was great. The potatoes were DELISH! Portion sizes were quite large -- none of us were able to finish our dishes. Also- bathroom is clean. Great for needing a place to eat around here that won't break bank.

I like Kaneohe. A lot. When I drive through the Wilson tunnel and see the beautiful green ridges, I feel like I'm really in Hawaii. So different from Honolulu, where I feel I'm in a concrete jungle most of the time. One day, we just had to get out of Honolulu, so we brought the kids over to the shopping center across from Valley of the Temples, so we could see the movie, "The Odd Life of Timothy Green." It was a great movie, by the way. We had an hour before the movie was to start and it was lunch time, so we wandered into this coffee shop. It was great. It was a friendly local style place. I had the mahi mahi sandwich with a side salad, and french fries. The sandwich was delicious and the server was friendly, too. Look out the front window, and there's a great view of the Koolau mountains. I'm so glad laid back, unpretentious places like this still exist.

Came here for breakfest on a Sunday morning, so it was pretty busy. The service was okay for a busy morning. Food took awhile to come, but it was sure well worth the wait. Food is pretty bomb. Their fried rice is really good, but only if you like it sweet otherwise get a different type of rice. They have a variety of omelette's, sandwiches, and meats. They also have a small board of specials by the cash register. I got one of their special which was a spinach omelette. Their dish portions are big for a great price.

Great food, great service, unbelievably low prices. For $5 you can get two eggs, two pieces of butter toast and jam, and a plate of roasted potatoes or rice. The pancakes are huge- you really only need to get one for a great portion. For $3 you can get a pancake the size of a dinner plate. Food always tastes fresh and comes out super fast. Highly recommended.

Their fried rice is one of the tastiest on the island! The best part is for $1.50 extra you can get the fried rice instead of steamed rice with many of their dishes. On this visit I got the mahi mahi and eggs with the added fried rice. The mahi mahi was so so and a bit overcooked, but the half plate of fried rice it included was as delicious as ever. If you order the full size portion of fried rice you'll get a giant plate piled high. I like to eat and I had to take about half of it home!

When I went for breakfast here, it was busy but nonetheless we were seated pretty quickly at a nice booth. Our waitress was an older Hawaiian lady and seemed a little stressed out about the amount of tables she had going on, I kinda felt bad for her. When I ordered a coffee with whip cream on top she looked at me, raised her eyebrows and shook her head - which I found kind of strange. The whip cream is my sugar and cream all in one. Maybe no one had ever done that before? I don't know. Either way, only complaint there. The portions were huge, food was tasty and service was great. Once aunty had a little less tables going on she seemed much friendlier and happy. This location is very clean and I love the art as well. I still think the Kailua location is better but that is just my bias. I like the place and the ambience, I will be back!

Hate to give 1 stars and leave 10% tips (this is the first time i have ever used loose change to leave tip in my life) but once I do that I know I am not going back. But after coming here so many times hoping the food would get better its time to give up. I had the loco moco with fried rice. While the fried rice was on the sweet side it was good, but the hamburger patty was bland had no taste to it. The wife had the pork chops with potatoes and tossed salad. She said the pork chop was okay, just okay, just average like you can make at home. I was disappointed to see her salad was browning on the edges. Was like how could you bring this out? Then the waitress only came to check on us once and then to bring the check not to long after that. It got crowded after a while so another waitress came out to handle one side of the room so she only had 2 to 3 tables tops. So yeah no thanks Time's Coffee Shop...

I don't get why everyone is so harsh on this place. My bf and I go here almost once a week and are NEVER disappointed. To the people complaining about the "sweet fried rice" why don't you order the shoyu fried rice instead? You shouldn't punish times because you're unaware of your choices! Lol Anyway, this place is fantastic and affordable which makes for a 5 star rating. Portion sizes are on the big side and prices are on the small side. I mean what else can you ask for!? Haha What you have to remember is that this is a small FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED business! Don't come if you're expecting filet mignon and lobster tail. It's a small local eatery that stays true to the mom and pop type family feel. Locals love it, which is probably why it was recommended to that tourist book that other lady mentioned in her review. The waitresses are also friendly and personable. I've never had an issue with customer service here.

Hello again everyone. Times Coffee Shop Temple Valley, not Kaneohe, or Kailua for that matter, is really good (I am going to start abbreviating the name to TCS because it'd take forever to type out the name every single time). This is not a place in the style of Koa Pancake house, Boots and Kimo's or Cinnamons. It is a lot more laid back and not nearly as bustling as those places. The times I've been here, people want to hang out and talk story, eat their food and kick back for a long time. I am also sure they don't want to be waiting an hour or so just to eat breakfast. This is a breakfast, lunch and dinner spot. They serve the whole menu all day so if you do feel like getting some pancakes or an omelette for dinner, go right ahead. The last time I went, I had a hamburger and cheese omelette for breakfast, it was great. I usually get the pancakes which are very good. For lunch/dinner, they have really good roast pork that comes with gravy. MMmmmm. . . my mouth is watering as I type this. The fried rice is also very good. With every meal, they also give white or wheat toast which is very, very good. I can't explain it, but the way they toast it, makes it awesome. Well, if you aren't busy and want to just hang out and talk story for breakfast and in the Kahalu'u/ Temple valley area, stop by this place. You will be glad you did. PS. I just noticed that I did abbreviate the name, and I didn't use it once more in the whole review. OOPs!

This place is great if you're on a budget but the service and food are just so-so. You know the saying, "you get what you pay for"? Of all the numerous times the waitress passed by our table, we were only checked on once and did not get refills on our drinks. I thought we were at a coffee shop? Their coffee could taste a little better. Maybe it was old coffee because we were there for a late breakfast - around 12pm. Their pancakes were nothing special either. They were too thin and too dry. They had no softness or fluffiness to them and were overdone. The potatoes they serve with the breakfast were not seasoned at all. Who wants to eat bland potatoes? All it needed was some salt, pepper, and maybe fresh herbs. The fried rice was probably the only thing that I would remember because of its unique sweetness. But I really don't care for sweet fried rice so I wouldn't order it if I ever find myself there again. Sorry to all the Times Coffee Shop fans out there but this place only gets two stars from me.

I've given this place a half dozen tries hoping that maybe I just ordered the wrong item, but each time I end up disappointed. The service is okay, what I'm upset with is the food. I love to eat! I eat almost anything, but the taste of their dishes just doesn't cut it for me. Maybe it's just me because my mom and brother love it. It's really sad, because I was rooting for this place.... but I just have to be honest and say I've had much better. Too oily, too greasy, too salty, too sweet. Not my thing.

We used to grab the fried rice plate at Times coffee shop when it was just the hole in a wall in Kailua. We would stop by before surfing or bboarding.. I was one of the only guys who could finish the whole thing, rice, one egg, mac salad and toast. We would never make a set after this, usually just ended up kanak attacking on the sand the rest of the day. The portion size has been shrinking as they keep moving, to the old smitty's and now to kahalu'u. The food is good; it really is the only place to grab a breakfast around here. Sometimes it is all you can get. When I'm around sometimes I stop in to eat the fried rice; it brings back good memories! The price is still right, and you can see temple valley out the window. nice view.

Actual rating: 3.5-4 Why 5 you ask? To make up for all the other people who gave such low scores, and for no good reason. Even in the lower reviews, the consensus across the board is that the food was good. And I concur. Isn't that the idea of rating these places in the first place? not to mention the clown who rated one star, and only posted that they moved locations. GTFO. so in doing my part to right the wrongs of those who really shouldnt be writing reviews, heres a 5 for you, times coffee shop. now... onto the review: coming back home after a long overnight fishing trip, we were looking for someplace to get out of traffic, and get some breakfast. the new temple valley location is perfect for that. no need to fight traffic through "the dip" to get food in kaneohe. so we stopped off, thinking we were going to McDonalds, and stumbled across Times Coffee Shop. and boy am i glad we did. considering our options for similar food in kaneohe (denny's, Ihop, Koa pancake house) this turned out to be a better alternative. i got the portuguese sausage/ cheese omlette with toast and fried rice. My friend got the "everything omlette" with toast and potatoes. the omlettes were made with real eggs (not that "egg in a carton" stuff used by other breakfast spots), and were filled with fresh ingredients. the "sweet" fried rice that other people seem to dislike, was delicious. and the potatoes were very good too. as far as customer service goes, we were seated quickly, and our orders were taken promptly. we both received our coffee shortly after being seated, and our refills came quicker than we could have wanted them. while in the big picture, the food was nothing amazing, it was definitely what i would have expected. reminded me of breakfast at my parents house when i was a kid. the portions were decently sized, and the prices were reasonable. i will definitely be going back if i ever find myself back in the area. if you find yourself thinking about going to Dennys or Ihop for breakfast, i would definitely suggest giving this place a try. especially for the local crowd.

Whenever I go here I sometimes have to wait forever to be seated. I only really order the saimin or a burger so I cant really complain about that. The specials change. I go in sometimes wait a couple minutes to be seated. I dont see anyone so I go to Mcdonalds.

I noticed this one coffee shop was far busier than the other restaurants so I suggested we go try it. The menu included pancakes, sandwiches, omelettes, as well as Hawaiian "Plate Lunch". Each plate includes a potato-macaroni salad, and toast. The lunch plates also gave us the choice of home fries, french fries or rice as a side. As you can see in the photo the servings are large. Mine came with two veal cutlets. My wife's plate had three large pieces of chicken. Among the four of us, two tried the omelettes, my wife had the teriyaki chicken plate lunch and I had the veall cutlet. Food was average coffee shop (if you have any experience in the food industry and know that Sysco type taste, you'll know what I'm talking about), but the they did use fresh potatoes, and eggs. The teriyaki chicken gets a thumbs up from my wife. My veal was (probably) frozen pre-prepared, but ok (good, but nothing special). My daughter and her friend said their omelettes were very good. Service was very nice, the locals were pretty nice too. Shop stays nearly full throughout the morning it looks like. + Decent food. Although nothing spectacular this restaurant is reasonable, has decent food, and consistently good service. Your best bet is to order breakfast. Their chocolate chip pancakes are good and you can't go wrong with the eggs and bacon. I am not a fan of their fried rice since it is sweet. Their cheeseburgers are pretty good too. Homemade patties with lots of flavor. You can expect to spend about $10 a person for a complete meal. Not a bad deal in these tough economic times!

I was really disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered a waffle, and when it finally came, it was damn near BURNT! I told the waitress, This is almost burnt! Can you take this back and bring me another one." When I got up off my seat to ask her for extra butter, she was eating the waffle and telling the cook, "I don't know why she didn't eat this. It's fine to me!" (Of course, she did not know that I was standing behind her when she said it) I told her to go ahead and eat every bit of the burnt Waffle, and don't bring me anything else. I looked at the Owner who was standing right next to her, and I told her that I wouldn't be eating there again.

This place was packed, so I figured it was worth a try for a late breakfast. The food was okay-- a lot of potatoes, several strips of crispy bacon, eggs, and toast. My over-medium eggs were cooked over easy, despite taking 15 minutes. Slow but friendly service.

The menu is extremely small consisting of breakfast items (served all day), local favorites, sandwiches, salads and daily specials. There is nothing over $10 and portions are pretty good too. I was a little shocked to see such a small menu and couldn't decide for the longest time what to order so we just chose a selection. Since it was cheap, I figured it wouldn't damage the pocketbook too much. The little guy got the 'keiki plate' of chicken tenders, fries and a drink. I also got him a cup of the daily soup which was chicken noodle soup. The soup was good and so was his chicken tenders. My 8oz sirloin garlic steak with mushrooms and onions was tasteless. I had to use A-1 steaksauce (which I never use) in order to make it somewhat palatable. Poor choice on my part. Hubby ordered the cornbeef and cabbage which was really quite tasty. We ended up ordering another portion just because we left the other stuff untouched. Little guy also had an order of one buttermilk pancake... that was pretty decent. With all that food also came two side salads. All three of us had a drink and the total was $37. BARGAIN! I doubt I'll be back again, but it was an interesting experience to say the least.

I never really cared for this place, the sweet fried rice turned me off. While sweet may be great for some, in my fried rice I thought it was gross. Anyhow, for some strange reason I have gone to their new locale at least three times in the past week because of friends. Go figure. Their food is average in my opinion. Cheap though. And the service each time was quick. If you need an early bite, they open at 6AM. Plus there are many faithful customers, so I guess there's something there that people are liking...just not me, particularly.

I wouldn't say DON'T go, but we had a less then satisfactory experience. My hubby ordered a cheeseburger and fries and I had a grilled cheese and fries. When I ordered, the waitress asked me what size drink I wanted(small) and when my hubby ordered she didn't ask him but brought him a large drink, which was twice the cost. Annoying. My meal was good I mean how can you screw up grilled cheese? My husband however said his tasted funny, and was dry. He ate some and then looked under the bun and turned the burger over and it was BLACK! No not just a little burned but BLACK like if you were at home you'd throw it away! We told our waitress because there was like more then half a burger left and she said sorry, not very convincing, and could she get him something else. He declined since he'd already been grossed out. Anyway when we paid the bill we noticed that she never got a manager, and didn't take the uneaten BURNED BLACK BURGER off our bill. Poor customer service and we will not return or tell our friends to go. We found a great review in the Oahu Revisited book which is why we went well they were wrong!

Waitress never gave my son a fork, even after asking for one. Walks past our table multiple times, giving utensils to other customers. This was last week. Called this morning to see if they were busy and asked about how long is the wait, the female who answers gave me an attitude the whole time..and these werent my first bad experiences here. I live a 2 minute walk from here, but I'm Never going back. I'll take the drive to kaneohe for better service.

I tried to give 4.5 stars but my phone won't let me.. This place is pretty great to bring family to kick back and eat some good homestyle breakfast together. The food is pretty damn good, the portions are pretty generous and there's a nice variety, something for everyone. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting, no harsh bright lighting or too loud music. The prices are not bad at all for the amount and quality that you get. You do have to wait a little bit for the food, but if you're like me and appreciate freshly cooked food and not something that been sitting under a warmer all day, that small wait is so worth it. I actually try to avoid places that have cooked food sitting in the warmer all day (my exception is Panda Express). The food is great, prices not bad, atmosphere inviting, what else? Employees are friendly and attentive. My fave thing here is the pancakes. Maybe IHOP has more variety, but I think these pancakes are great. My son loves their fried rice, and he, like myself, is very picky about fried rice. I also like their omelettes. Never had any big issues there. As far as minor issues, only a couple. We walked in one day, waiting to be seated, it took about 5 minutes before we were noticed. In their defense, it was a slow moment, only one customer was there, and the waitress and the cook were talking story in the kitchen. I don't really see anything wrong with that, it was minor in my opinion. Maybe a tiny bell to chime the door? The only other issue was one morning, their Vanilla Macadamia Nut Kona coffee was just calling my name. I asked the waitress if they make their coffee on the strong side cuz i like it strong, she said yes. So I ordered one like "yes, that's so gonna hit the spot!" And it was really weak :( so I told her it was a bit on the weak side, may I please order another cup? She brought me another cup and it was the same thing. The coffee was slightly transparent, and when I put cream in it, all I tasted was cream and no coffee (or Vanilla Macadamia) flavor. Maybe that's just how their coffee is made; I expected a good strong coffee from a breakfast place. The place where I fell in love with a good strong Vanilla or Choc Mac Nut Kona coffee is at the Kaneohe Chevron gas station, but this was over 10 years ago. Anyways, aside from those very minor, manini things, this is a great breakfast place and we still look forward to our next time eating there!

Basic breakfast items. I had the eggs benedict which was good. The hash browns could use a little more seasoning. Partner hot the hamburger patty while didn't look that appetizing however heard no complaints. Good service. Clean.

There's nothing flashy about this greasy spoon but I love the tasty and no frills breakfast. I opted to skip the hour long waits at the other more "famous" places in Kailua and was immediately seated at Times on a Saturday at 10am. I got the fried rice, two eggs over easy, two slices of toast, and link sausage for a very reasonable price. I liked that the fried rice was a tad on a sweet side and had no onions. I'd definitely come back.

Came here on a rainy humid afternoon for some coffee. The name of this shop is a little misleading. We were expecting a cute little coffee shop, similar to those you would find in tourist areas, but found an old school diner. I am eager to go back on a lazy morning to check out and try the food, but do not go here expecting homemade, hand blended, local coffee.

This is an odd place and I can only speak about the ambience, service, and coffee. The coffee is ok, the service was very friendly, and the place was a sort of old school diner. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the place, it is just not the sort of place I would frequent when the comfortable ambience of Starbucks is available to me. And a tall coffee at Starbucks is actually cheaper than an 8 oz. cup of coffee here ($2.75). Granted, at Times Coffee Shop they will give you free refills, but do I care? Not really. The ambience is a bit dank and dark and I want to have my coffee and go.
