Saigon is undoubtedly the best Vietnamese restaurant on the island. The proprietor was a little rough around the edges when my wife and I first started coming, but now that we are regulars, he is much nicer! Everything on the menu is awesome and fresh, but I highly recommend the pho with beef and the summer roll and BBQ meat plates! The Vietnamese coffee is great too!

Absolute favorite place to grab pho in Kaneohe. I normally alter between their seafood and chicken vegetable pho, while my boyfriend opts for their thinly sliced beef and tendon pho. The owner is extremely friendly and easy to talk to, and always remembers our order. I have yet to try their Vietnamese sandwiches but will make sure to do so on my next visit!

Saigon Noodle House was just average to me; very small, run down, food tasted like any other pho restaurant. The one thing that I liked about it though was that the owner was very friendly and the service was fast. However this restaurant is not one that you would make a special trip out to Kaneohe for.

Best kalbi ever! Their pho is also really good but I love love love their kalbi plate. I think this location is better than the Kailua one for sure, although there's probably no difference in the recipes. I think it's the guy that runs the place. He treats everyone as a friend. Only shitty part is parking sucks. Narrow stalls and only 16 parking spots for the whole area

Another Pho house that I am exploring. This time the adventure to experience awesome new Pho takes me to this place in Kaneohe. Away from the major shopping malls, is a strip mall that is the home of Saigon Noodle House. It is the typical set up for a Vietnamese restaurant, which is alright with me. Located kind of the outskirts of Kaneohe, where its on the edge of the Pali Highway going in and out of Kaneohe, back into downtown Honolulu, via Nuuanu. If you are craving Pho, this is the place to be. Vietnamese cuisine is simple, yet elegant, so this place is pretty much what you would need to get over what you need for great food at a reasonable cost. With that said, the parking is somewhat limited, but I was glad to have gotten parking in front of the restaurant. Once inside, the hostess greeted me with a smile and directed me to a table. I normally go with the rare steak and beef ball Pho with summer rolls, so that was still good. I'm surprised that there is a pretty wide range for the price of Pho. I can understand the increase from medium to large, but for a decent size for Pho, it can go from $795 to $12 for 1 bowl. It is pretty crazy, but I guess restaurants are cashing in on the Pho craze. The Pho was above average, but not mind blowing awesome. The value of the meal was good. Just an average place, but I should have dumped some chili sauce on the broth to spice things up. I would recommend this place to anyone who is willing to jump around and be spontaneous and seek out good Pho at reasonable prices. While I have not yet found amazing Pho just yet, I am getting there one way or another. The service was good and fast. 15 minutes from ordering, I got the summer rolls first and dug in. I always put the chili sauce into the peanut dipping sauce just to kick things up a notch. B++

HEAVEN IN A BOWL. Came here with my bf on Friday afternoon because he was craving pho and I wanted to get out of the house (and stop playing Diner Dash). I wasn't really craving pho since Pho My Vi ruined my pho palate but I thought I'd be adventurous and try something new. Spring rolls and shrimp vermicelli: Holy hot mama this dish is DE-LISH-ISS. Huge bowl of vermicelli topped with a bunch of garlic shrimp, spring rolls, lettuce, mint, peanuts, and bean sprouts. It looked like a bowl of random stuff thrown together but when I looked into the bowl I knew that I would love it. Their spring rolls are stellar, as well as the shrimp. The vermicelli was not too bad either. For $7.95 it's a pretty good value. My bf ordered the pho with rare steak and beef balls. The pho was... pho. That's about it. ($6.95) I also ordered the cheesecake since I saw that the other yelper said it was "light and fluffy and tastes like it's good for you." I was expecting a small homemade cheesecake slice, but it looked and tasted like it was store bought. I'm not complaining though, it was only $2.50. I'd probably order it again, but I cannot agree that it was "tasted like it was good for me." Overall: They have a pretty big menu. Even though I'm dying to try their tofu curry or something else, I'll probably end up ordering heaven in a bowl again. Let me warn you that if you have an addictive personality, please do not order this. You will want to eat it everyday for the next few days. I'm still suffering from this major side effect.

I love this place - especially if I'm sick or rainy days. Of course you have to try the pho with rare beef, but sometimes I get the egg roll, garlic shrimp, and lemongrass chicken. I especially love the sriracha, garlic sauce they have on the side. They also have desserts too. Gotta have the sweet potato and chocolate tapioca.

I love this place. It's right by my house, so I know my brother goes here quite a bit. Usually I get from the mexican place next door, but when I'm in the mood to sit down and eat, or if I'm sick-- I'll go here for pho. They always remember me and my order. Regardless of how long it's been since I've been there... they remember. For instance, one time I ordered two banh mi, and the next time I came in-- he asked me if I wanted banh mi. I wanted the house pho instead, but it was still awesome that he remembered. :) I'm a huge fan of this place. It's so cheap and has the best pho! The atmosphere is hole in the wall-ish, but it's great. Cheap, fast, excellent service.

Fabulous food!! Owner immediately greets you with a smile. Spring rolls were fresh and oh so wonderful. Good was served quickly, we had shrimp fried rice, kalbi rib and Teri steak combo and garlic chicken as entrees. Hubby ended with a fantastic pineapple smoothie. Try the fresh lemonade too! Will definitely be back.

  • Chelsie M.

Friendly place. The guy says "hi friend" to almost everybody that walks in. Also has a sense of humor. He apologized for our chicken sandwich taking so long and said they had to pick up chicken in keeaumoku and come back. Food was awesome.

  • Love C.

"Hi Friend, what you like today? Pho? Smoothie?" This is how you'll be greeted if you come here more than once. The nice man that works here everyday seems to remember everything that his repeat customers order. The pho is very good, as are the summer rolls. The peanut sauce comes out in plastic containers, which means it's not the freshest. The smoothies are amazing, and it's worth stopping in just for one of those. This is probably the best Vietnamese restaurant in Kaneohe, but definitely not the island. Check out Nickie Cafe in Kapahulu for the best.

My bestie and I come here every other week and the owner always remembers us and our orders. If I ever go without her, he always asks how she is or if she's working late (which is usually the case). Once while we were eating in, someone came in to pick up a phone order and was a couple dollars short, the owner just told him "that's okay, you come back next time"... Love the service and friendliness here. Food is always excellent here. Beef pho, Vietnamese coffee, shrimp rolls, kalbi, shaken beef, lettuce wraps, and vermicelli noodles with spring rolls are all delicious. Great value for the $. Two pho, one order shrimp rolls, and 2 coffees = $27.16. When you order for take out, the portions are just as large (take out portions at other restaurants always seem smaller to me). Parking can be tough as there are 2 other popular restaurants that share the lot but not enough of an issue to deter me from coming.

  • Amelia M.

When we come here, "mmmmm; this is SO good!" always gets said many, many times. I can only speak for the the vermicelli, BBQ pork, and spring roll combo (since that's what I always order), but the flavors are consistently delicious, the meat is lean, and nothing is oily or greasy. The little restaurant is by no means fancy (e.g. today a plastic fast food Wendy's spoon was the serving spoon for our chili sauce), but the service is very fast and friendly. Also, prices are incredibly reasonable for the food's generous portions, wonderful taste, and appealing presentation. This is one of the few restaurants in Kaneohe that I highly recommend and visit frequently.

  • Doris D.

Very good, reasonably priced Vietnamese fare. The lemongrass and spicy shrimp combo with rice is a favorite, the pho's good, and the BBQ pork chops are very good. Thumbs up for a great lunch.

This has to be one of the best pho restaurants i've been to. The broth is always so yummy!! They have my favorite chili oil sauce whatever that is called. The owner/server is always so friendly and tries really hard to give good service considering its usually only him working. He also remembers what you order and calls you my friend! Which is a added bonus cause he makes you feel welcomed.. I haven't had a bad experience here and hopefully i'll never do! Must try this place when your in kaneohe! Much better then all the other pho places on this side... Atleast to me..

I'm ashamed I haven't taken the time to write a review on Saigon yet. It is by far my absolute favorite place to eat. No matter how long it's been between visits, it's always like Cheers... he may not know your name but he remembers your order and who you dined with last time you came (I know you're humming along!) Seriously, he's got photographic memory because I've read other reviews and they say the same thing. How does he do it? Okay, I don't just come here because I heart the owner, it's because the food is awesome and every time I get the bill I feel like i'm robbing them. You get SO MUCH food! My favorite dishes here are: -Green Papaya Salads (they will make the salads with any of their protein choices...tofu, chicken, pork, squid...etc.) and comes with their delicious spring rolls sliced up over the salad like crispy croutons...droool. -Pad thai - standard, they put lots of peanuts, which I love! Surprisingly, so many thai/viet places mess this up! They do it perfectly. -Pork chop - you get a massive, well-marinated and perfectly grilled piece -Spicy Squid - never over-cooked, tender and flavorful I could go on and on. I haven't tried anything here I didn't like! You must give this place a try, and let's be honest, who doesn't want to go where everybody knows your name? dodadoadoodoo......

i love this vietnamese eatery. the spring rolls are super tasty. the broth for all the soups are mild and clear, very little grease. i stop in at least once or twice a month. if it weren't 30 minutes from my house, i'd visit once or twice a week. the owner is also the server. he is awesome. customer service is excellent and he always remember me and what i order. the bahn mi sandwiches are so tasty. sweet sour tangy spicy. love this spot!

    (5)
  • Angela A.

They have awesome spring rolls here. I'm not a vegetarian, but I'm in love with their tofu vermicelli. The owner is also super friendly and has an impeccable memory! He always remembers how I like my meals... even when I don't come for months! They also have specials that come with one or two spring rolls.

    (4)
  • Nanthony N.

My favorite Vietnamese spot on the island. You cannot go wrong with the spring rolls, they are always hot, crispy, and delicious. I've had their pho, bbq items, and crispy noodles. I think the pho is a bit bland, but I have never been a fan of pho... so who am I to say? Lol! Loved everything else. The owners are super friendly and have freakishly good memory.

    (5)
  • Merril A.

I love coming here whenever I'm in a time crunch! The food comes out really fast. It's the perfect place for take-out or phone orders. The owner recognizes me when I come in because I've been coming here for almost four years. I have never been disappointed with the flavor, quality, or portions. I always order the lemongrass chicken and garlic shrimp combo. The order comes with an egg roll and salad.

    (5)
  • Nathan N.

I'll make this simple: The spring rolls are huge. The pho broth is pretty tasty. The portion of pho was perfectly sized to satisfy my hunger. And at $8 for pho, it doesn't hurt your wallet. Parking is a bit of a hassle because the lot just isn't that big and doesn't have a wide driveway. Don't go during peak lunch hour because there are two other restaurants (El Mariachi and Dairyu) that share the same parking lot. We went at 11:00am and just got in before the lunch rush.

    (4)
  • Zachary N.

Easily accessible off the main road but still somewhat a hidden gem. Parking can be dicey at peak hours but it's totally worth the hassle. The owner always recognizes you even if you've only been here one time and the staff are all family. The array of food is simply splendid and the prices are unbeatable.

Being a Kaneohe native I know that Vietnamese Restaurants have a hard time surving in Kaneohe, but somehow Saigon Noodle House has prevailed! Is it because they have the best Pho? Probably not, but the combination of a tasty diverse menu and the sweetest family running the joint keeps me and many others going back for more! While I've had better tasting Pho on Oahu, hands down, they have the tastiest spring rolls i've ever eaten. Four large springrolls with all the right garnishes is the perfect way to start any meal! If you go there and eat nothing else, order this or the spring roll vermicelli. Amazing! Not a Pho person? Try any one of their combination plates. I have many friends who don't eat Pho but still love their food for this very reason. Garlic shrimp, chicken, short ribs, tofu...anything you want comes with rice, salad and a spring roll. All of their plate lunches are so tasty and for a reasonable price. While there are more and more Vietnamese places opening up in Kaneohe, this is by far my favorite. Going with a group of diverse taste? Saigon Noodle House has something for everybody!

One of my favs! Spring rolls! No fish at this location tho. Enchanted lakes location has more options.

Been going here since it was a brand new restaurant in Kaneohe, and although I moved away from Oahu 5yrs ago, every time I come back whether its been 6 months or 2yrs, the owner ALWAYS remembers me and my family. He asks about how school is, and comments on how big we're all getting, and checks how my grandma is doing. I LOVE THIS GUY! He ALWAYS remembers our regular orders too. There's no need for menus or for him to write down on paper. He just gets it! Him and his family run the place so although service can lag at times, he does it with a smile and does his very best! I love the spring rolls and generous portion of pho. The broth is very tasty too. Its always a nice comforting place to go to when I'm home.

    (5)
  • Jaynie K.

The owner must have a photogenic memory. It's almost creepy! As soon as my mom and I walked in, he exclaimed "Oh, you're back again! Two combination noodles?" He remembered our exact order from last time. Holy crap. We ordered the pho as we did the other day, and also an order of the spring rolls, which were piping hot, super crispy, and filled with tender tasty yum yums! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

We enjoyed their meatball pho and the owner was really friendly. This was our first visit and will definitely come again.

FIRST YELP ENTRY!!! One of the best Pho and Vietnamese food we tried. This is our favorite pho places to come to. The restaurant is a family own business. This casual dinning place gets very busy during the evenings and take out order are very popular here. They have a wide variety of entrees from salads, Vietnamese sandwiches, pho, soup, rice plate to a Chinese-like menu. I always order beef and meatball pho, crispy spring roll, fresh summer roll. They have big portions for a good price! comes with a lot of veggies, they do not hold back. Totally worth the money spent! We go there almost once a week! The owners remember our order because we come so often. Only problem is tight parking and not much parking. But if I am in Kaneohe this is the place to go for pho.

Looking for some "pho"ntastic vietnamese food on the East side of Oahu? Look no further because Saigon Noodle house is the best place for simple vietnamese cuisine. I have been there numerous times and the one of the first dishes I fell in love with was there egg rolls. They are scrumptious, crispy, and fully of yummy goodness. Furthermore, the pho is "pho"nomenal. There must be something in the broth because I think they have one of the best tasting broths in the state. I have been to numerous pho restaurants on Oahu but there's something in the broth that always makes me come back to Saigon noodle house. The service here is also great. The owner knows your regular order so he doesn't need to come to your table. His wife is also a sweet heart. His children are add a nice family feel to the restaurant and they help with some of the simple duties around the place.

  • Dev C.

Eggrolls here are a hidden gem. Pro tip: Get the Eggroll/Garlic Shrimp/BBQ Chicken combo on vermicelli INSTEAD of the rice. Pour the dipping sauce all over, and ask for more sauce if necessary. There is magic there.

  • Matthew K.

The food here is really good. The people there are really nice too. The owner is also the person who takes your order. He has a pretty good memory always asks me if I finished school and how work is.

  • Daniel B.

This is my go to place, food is continently good, the PHO is great, not the best I had but it is up there, I would give 5 stars if there was more meat in the PHO. The lemon grass chicken is pretty good too. Some Can not go wrong with the spring rolls, the fried rolls was not my favorite. Overall it is a great place to get a good lunch and slurp some noodles.

  • Katrina D.

Typical sunday dinner for my bf and I. Two plates of lemongrass chicken and spring rolls on vermicelli noodles :) I love sundays because of this! I am not a Pho person and everyone that knows me knows that. That's why this is the perfect vietnamese place for me! They have tons of items on the menu that is not PHO. They have steak plates and vietnamese sandwiches (I've always wanted to try, but always end up getting my regular plate), oh and they have a variety of tapioca's yum!!! i love banana tapioca ^_^ The owner is friendly and knows my bf and I by what we order lol he has a crazy memory! its amazing and freaky at the same time!

Great little family runned business. The owner and his wife always greet you with a warm welcome. Super portions for the price. Tastiest Pho in kaneohe which is good for those days after looong nights.

I've been here quite a few times & I have never written a review? Why not?! This place has AMAZING pho, my absolute favorite on the island! Pretty much everything I have tried (garlic shrimp plate, chicken pho, tender beef pho, tapiocas, spring rolls...) has been AWESOME. I have absolutely no complaints with this place. The guy who owns the place is super nice & has an amazing memory because every time I have been in there he automatically knows what I normally order & asks if I want the same (& it's not like I go there once a week! Although I should..it's that good!) I highly recommend trying this place out if you want some delicious Vietnamese food.

I have been going to the Saigon in Keolu for years and haven't tried this location in Kaneohe until now. Two thumbs up. The food is excellent and the service is wonderful. Yay for one more place to eat on the windward side!

The best pho place on this side of town! We are regulars and have not been disappointed everytime. Pho tai is the best and my son loves pho tai w meatballs. the only downside is parking.

  • Al W.

A great place to eat! Tasty Asian food (not just Vietnamese) at reasonable prices. The owner, Tam, has a photographic memory for what you've ordered in past visits and makes his guests feel like family. Our favorite place to go for Asian comfort food.

The best cheese cake ive ever had! Lite and fluffy kinda makes you think its good for you.

Stopped by here to grab Vietnamese sandwiches to-go on the way to Kailua Beach. I ordered the Grilled Pork Sandwich and fresh shrimp rolls. I was surprised at the size of the sandwiches as they were huge and fat compared to the ones back home because it had a lot more pickled carrots and daikons, but the seasoning on the pork was pretty good....a little on the sweeter side. Even the shrimp rolls were fat rolls. Also sandwich prices were much higher than what I was used to: $4.75! Shrimp rolls were $4.95 for two which is typical, but overall, it was a decent meal for the beach.

  • Cherise G.

I thought this place was ok. The service was good and the server was really sweet. I ordered beef pho with meat balls. It was pretty good, but doesn't compare to homemade pho. I also ordered some summer spring rolls which I thought were pretty good as well. Although, I was a little disappointed in the peanut sauce... it just seemed a little to sticky and old. All in all it was an ok place to go to for Vietnamese food.

  • Jan O.

I'm so glad that my husband wanted to eat here because the dishes we had were unbelievably awesome! I ordered the lemongrass chicken with pork chop (@extra cost), the hubby had garlic chicken, and we shared an order of regular spring rolls. The food was so good that I honestly did not want to share but did anyways. (haha!) The parking lot is so small so it gets packed during lunchtime and dinner. We definitely will be back to try other dishes. Thank you Saigon noodle house for such good food!!!

It's "ok," I had better Phos from other place.

  • Christopher C.

Visit: 8/1/09 - Dinner. Had the Sate Chicken and spring rolls. The Sate Chicken was pretty good. They use some black bean and shrimp paste. So it was pretty tasty. I only wish there was more sauce. Spring roll was still good. Service was good. One lucky guy was able to place phone order at 9pm when they close. The wife took the phone call and told the guy yes. Her husband was waving at her telling her not to say yes. It was funny. Price is okay. $7.50 for most rice plate dishes. I will go back.

    (3)
  • Janice F.

Service was okay! Maybe because I'm not a regular but we stopped here because my cousin is fasting and only eating veges. I did have the Lemongrass chicken and garlic shrimp and it seems like it was made in the same sauce so it was the same flavor it came with a salad and no dressing. I do agree the springrolls were really good. Thus the two stars for overall experience.

  • Nona E.

I loved this place. It's right up the street from my relative's house and in my short visit, I've been back there numerous times. The fresh shrimp rolls are wonderful and my favorite was their version of hot and sour soup. The owner, after two visits, knew who I was and asked how I was when I sent my son in for pickup. What a neighborhood treasure!

  • Tracie F.

The BEST Vietnamese restaurant on the island. The food is fresh and has great flavor. Simply delicious. The service is excellent and the owners are so friendly. The chicken longrice soup and anything with vermicelli is awesome! The tapioca desserts are wonderful! Chocolate and coconut are my favorite! Prices are reasonable. If you want Vietnamese food this is the place to go!

  • Jake D.

This is our go-to place in Kaneohe for pho and Viet style food. The owner is awesome and he will remember what you ordered the last time that you came in, even if it was over a month ago. We usually go with the veggie pho and one of the mixed plates. Portions are large and very tasty. If you have room pick up some of the tapioca.

  • Angelica A.

My fiance was feeling under the weather so we decided to order pho. Our usual spot, Pho Viet Thai, was closed so we looked on yelp for another. This place got rave reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. My fiance order the chicken pho and chicken summer rolls. I ordered the chicken phad Thai. The chicken summer rolls were pretty decent but nothing to brag about. The pho was alright but didn't have that nice beef flavor. As for the phad thai definitely a miss! First of all there wasn't enough sauce to give it that nice red-orange color so it was just bland. Also there were eggshells in it. I was really disappointed and don't think i'll be returning.

  • Christine A.

This location is better than the enchanted lakes location. I got so much food I was unable to eat it all. The food was really good. I have had the satay chicken and lemongrass chicken here. I had the shrimp rolls and the first two times i have been there they were probably the best on the island, but the last time I had the shrimp roll it had some shrimp shell parts in it, which brought my 4 stars into 3. I think i am being generous because i think everyone has a bad day. The parking here isn't too good either seeing as how it is next to El mariachi and it is a popular mexican restaurant.

    (3)
  • Koshi I.

Stopped here on my way up to Byodo-in. I felt like pho and the place did not disappoint. Pretty standard as far as pho goes, but the service was friendly, it was a good value, and the place was clean enough -- much cleaner than other pho places I've been to. The desserts were good. Tried the vanilla and banana tapioca puddings.

  • A G.

Best value pho that I've had on the island. Nice family owned restaurant. Noodles were perfect. Meat was good. Broth was average.

  • Laura L.

This place is great! I had the beef pho and it really hit the spot. The broth was aromatic and tasty. If there's no parking just park by walgreens or longs, it's just a couple minutes walk away.

Onolicious Pho with Chicken. Service was excellent. Will go back again.

  • Anita L.

Cheap and extremely satisfying food from this little hole in the wall. Big on both taste and portions. The Vietnamese banh mi (sandwiches) are delicious and are less than $4 while pho is less than $6 for a huge bowl. The combo plates are also very reasonable for under $7 and consists of your choice of many items such as BBQ chicken, BBQ pork, tofu, lemongrass chicken and much much more. The restaurant itself is small and on busy nights service can be slow, but the staff are friendly and are apologetic when they have a big crowd so it really doesn't alter the entire experience because the food makes up for whatever else is lacking.

    (4)
  • R R.

I only tried the vegetarian spring rolls here, so I can't comment on any other food. However, their service was good. It's laid back, seat yourself type of place. I thought the veggie spring rolls were a little bland and maybe overcooked a little. But it was okay. I would probably be back to try other things as I've heard good things about this place, especially that their papaya salad is great, so will probably have that next time.

    (3)
  • Puddytat C.

The Pho has improved. When it's great, you'll know. The flavor is all in the broth making it soooo rich and delicious. This place is close to that level of flavor. I have tried many but still haven't found any in Hawaii that have captured that exquisite broth. Just like certain rated Ramen shops in Japan. So fabulous, you dream of it. Nowhere in Hawaii have we found any as great as in Japan. You'll never know until you find that special place. They're not all like that, even in Japan, believe me, just those special gems. My mouth waters just thinking about it.

I had the lemongrass chicken over vermicelli and I definitely approve. Based off of what my boyfriend and I ordered they definitely serve authentic Vietnamese food here. Recommend for your pho and vermicelli fix on the island!!

I'd only go to this place if I'm craving some Pho and I don't want to leave Kaneohe. If that were the case, it would have to be a pretty strong craving and I don't have the gas to make it out of Kaneohe. Not the best Pho there is. The raw meat that you put in are too thick, the meat balls are too small (that sounds weird). The only cool thing about the place is that the guy lets his kids play around with the cashier. That's cute, until they mess up the bill. hahahaha

I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN! We could not even get our servers attention many times, as if we were being ignored. Ordered shrimp rolls and chicken curry. With the shrimp rolls we were continually pulling shrimp shells out of our mouth, the dipping sauce in the plastic container had been sitting so long it coagulated and the shredded daikon was served with a plastic fork. These things we overlooked. Then the chicken curry arrived. All dark rib meat, chewy, smelly pieces of chicken with a tasteless curry sauce. THE CHICKEN WAS BAD. We asked to send it back and try the eggplant tofu dish instead. The server brought the eggplant tofu dish and when taking the chicken dish back he pulled out the used serving spoon full of curry and stuck it in the new eggplant dish. VERY RUDE SERVICE. The eggplant was quite tasteless and the tofu tasted soured. These things we overlooked. After waiting forever for our check we went up to the counter to pay up. We were presented our bill which included both the dish we sent back and the replacement dish. We informed them that this dish was sent back and should be removed from the bill. We were informed multiple times that someone had to pay for the food and unless there was a hair in it they would charge us for the food. VERY GREEDY AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I am now in bed with TERRIBLE STOMACH PAINS. Not a place I would recommend to anyone.

I have been going to this family place since its opening. The food is good, the people lovely and I love the kids. Yes, this is another "all atmosphere" place for me. But, I also love the spring rolls, I found the vegetarian pho more tasty then the one with the meat. I can't explain why that is, but so it is. Last night I had the seafood combo and it was good. The cuttlefish tends to be a little tough. The dish had almost a sweet taste which was interesting. I will continue to go back when in Kaneohe.

Last time I reviewed the Pho only... this is for the rest of the menu! heehee.. Yuuuummy! This is by far the best Vietnamese food on this island! The owner is so nice and will remember your name and order. Try the tapioca for desert.. delish.

The Banh Mi here are fantastic, but the Pho usually lacks a certain depth of body and flavor. However, Ngo Gai(Sawleaf, Culantro, Long Coriander, etc.) is offered with the vegetable/herb garnish plate, which I love. Also, the Garlic Shrimp plate is outstanding.

This is the best Vietnamese restaraunt I've found yet in Hawaii. The spring rolls are great, the sandwiches are good, but the vermicelli bowls are hands down their best dish. Quiet family atmosphere, and they will recognize you after only one visit.

Yay, I'm a fan! Nice place to grab some food on the cheap. The husband & wife owner of this restaurant are so very nice and always willing to please. Try their veggie spring rolls and you will be hooked. Yum!

I had the pork chop. It was slightly dry but tasty. I would not order it again as I've had better at other places. I do like the spring rolls though! Waited 20 mins for my take out. It was busy at 645pm on a thurs. Nice people though.

My roots are in Kaneohe, though I only visit relatives there once every other year or less. Every time I visit, we stop at this small Vietnamese restaurant. Very casual, flurescent lighted, order at the counter type place with good, if not, great food. This family-owned establishment has a lot on the menu, and everything is fresh - the pho, the fresh rolls, the bun with salad condiments... The place is always busy when we go, and the male owner eerily remembers everything that we ordered from the previous visits (year or so prior). He even remembers where we sat.

This is one of my favorite places to eat! The food is marvelous (try the vegetarian pho, curry tofu, or my favorite - vermicelli bowl with spring rolls and spicy shrimp) and inexpensive! Tan (the owner) is amazing! He's always so welcoming. I wish that I didn't live so far away! I'd definitely eat here more often.

Food: We came here to eat after the crazy hike up and down the Haiku stairs. We had the vermicelli with pork and shrimp and the pho dac biet. This place was pretty authentic. During our dining, I kept seeing customers come in to order the tapioca dessert so I finally ordered one to try. It was soft, tasty, and not too sweet. Service: Our waitress (who waited on the entire place also) was very nice. She was patient with us because we were being wishy-washy about what to order. The food came out pretty quick (10 minutes). Parking: You can park in front of the restaurant. Ambiance: There weren't many people there when we came but slowly, people came in. I noticed that more people ordered to go rather than sat and ate there. Interesting wall pictures.

The place is just a few blocks from where I live. Over the years I've been having lunch there, I always eat the same thing. I walk in the door, the husband and or wife know I sit anywhere. I don't say a word except, "Hi." My beef pho comes within 3 minutes. I eat it to death, plop down $10 and get back to my computer. Boom zoom. everybody is stoked.

Love this place! The food is great and at affordable prices. I'm not a pho snob and I was rather happy with my chicken pho. And I love it when good food places are nearby. My landlord goes quite often and the owner knows what she wants. I'm hoping to get on that level! The food comes out quick and pho always comes with a vegetable plate, which I pretty much just dump into my bowl. Parking lot is small, but you can find street parking.

Even after my visits to a couple Vietnamese restaurants in Kaneohe and one in Kailua, I am still on a search for a great pho place in oahu. Pho here was ok, but nothing special to crave for it.

Ok...so I'm a snob about my Beef Pho. The best I've ever had was a place in town, I won't say names since this review is for Saigon Noodle House. Let's just say this place was the frickin BOMB. I mean, I might go as far as to say it's *ahem* BETTER than my favorite spot I've been eating Pho for the past 7 years. I wouldn't even think twice about going anywhere else before Saigon Noodle. I have to say the owner Tan was so super friendly and outgoing, he made us feel very welcomed walking in 20 minutes prior to closing. Talk about customer service! I will definitely be back to this spot whenever the Pho craving kicks in while I'm in the Kaneohe area. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. My fiancée had the beef stew Pho and the way his eyes fluttered after one bite I knew he loved it. This was the first time he's ever tried any Pho. He said he wasn't big on the noodles, but that's a personal preference, not reflective of the actual dish flavor and presentation. He highly recommends it, next time he'll ask for rice instead. Lastly the spring rolls...exceptional! Fresh and crispy! Flavorful! Across the board it was awesome!!!

Today my friend and I tried this place after seeing some nice reviews. We started with an order of spring rolls which were tasty. Nice and crunchy and just what I expected with all the wrapping vegetable insides. I ordered the crunchy noodle plate with chicken and my friend ordered the lemon grass chicken. Is have to say it was pretty tasteless. The noodles were drenched in a soupy base which made it soggy upon arriving to the table. The chicken had no flavor, but I'm unsure if it's supposed to have any taste. The lemongrass is just not my cup of tea, yet had more flavor than my meal. On a side not we were clearly served by someone who cared about the business. Maybe the owner not sure. He made sure our waters were filled and made recommendations on the menu. The lady at the front that was supposed to greet us was on the phone. A personal call that I could tell, and walked to the back after having us seated while still on the phone, unprofessional. All in all didn't get to try enough on the menu to make me say wow or boo so I'll leave it at a 2 star until I make a trip back... If I ever do

ABSOLUTELY DELISH! It's a must try. Best pho you will eat on the windeard side. And the spring rolls are vellenti is so good. What makes the experience a whole lot better is the 5 star service. "My friend" is how he greets everyone and he's awesome and so friendly. Shoots didn't realize I was logged in as my husband.

Tan (the owner) is such a hard worker. He is very friendly and appreciates his regulars. We get the Vietnamese oxtail soup with rice ( we actually love it so much we have dreams about it!). A little sweeter than your traditional oxtail but oh so delicious! We also get a plate of their spring rolls (they give you more than a normal Vietnamese restaurant (6 vs 4 pieces) and their combo plates are great for the kids to share

Hello my friend!!! That's the greeting you get from the gentlemen running the counter. Always polite and always friendly. Best Pho in the East Side hands down. Parking can be a bit of a pain because it's in a small lot, but the food won't disappoint you at all. I never had the taste for Pho so I'm always ordering the #10 (Kalbi & Garlic Shrimp) along with a side order of spring rolls. My GF wanted to try the House Special Pho. Now when it come down to eat, she never complained once about the food. And when she's eating and not talking stories that much, you know the food is good and she's enjoying every bit of it. As for what I ordered, I order it all the time because it's that good. If you're ever in Kaneohe, I recommend this place. You won't be disappointed...

There aren't many pho options in Kaneohe, but I'm glad we picked this place. The pho had good enough flavor to do it's magic and cure a hangover. We also ordered the tasty short ribs.

Absolutely LOVE going here to get my PHO fix. The owner is always very friendly and after just going to eat there once...he has remembered my boyfriend & I ever since. He is always very friendly and greets his guests. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. I mainly order my pho when I go. Perfect for rainy Kaneohe nights. Service is always excellent and you always get your food really fast. Definitely recommend this place for Pho.

I love going to this spot whenever I'm in Kaneohe and craving pho. The owner is very friendly and remembers us when we return! The pho is very good and I usually go with the rare beef... never disappoints. The bowl portion is just the right amount that you need and the broth is very good. Comes with your traditional pho fixins... bean sprouts, lemon, thai basil The spring rolls are also one of my favorites to order. You get quite a bit... four large spring rolls cut in half, so eight pieces. It also comes with lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, and vermicelli noodles. My only complaint would be that parking sucks... it's located in a small corner with several other restaurants and a gas station so parking is limited. It's small but give this place a shot... awesome food!

I feel like the rest of this island has never had good pho from a restaurant. I know, I know, restaurants will never be as great as the ones that mom and pa makes at home. Compared to other places- their soup is decently flavored- and by decent I mean it's not overly salty with MSG... actually kind of light and lacking in flavor now that I'm trying to think of it. I ordered the combination pho with the rare steak on the side- the soup wasn't hot enough to cook the meat even though we waited about 15 minutes to get our food. There was barely any of the tripe or tendon and fish ball in it. Kind of pricey if you ask me- but then I'm spoiled by San Francisco's portions, quality, and pricing. So it's meh to me. The spring rolls were good- don't know how you can really mess those up anyways.

This place is delicious!! Even my extremely picky 8 year old son found something he loves! My husband got the meatball pho which was amazing, my son got the garlic shrimp with bbq chicken that was so tender, and I got the green papaya salad with spring roll and shrimp...I've never eaten something so fast! We're now regulars!!

been going here for years, but I still remember the second time we went there. The owner remembered us and remembered what we all ordered; all five of us! He has seen all of my kids grow up and leave. So we always stop here at least once when they come home from Utah before they go back. we always order the shrimproll, which is a summer roll at other places. Cold wrapped shrimp and noodles and vegetables with hoi sin sauce. I usually eat the spicy squid/ lemongrass chicken or the house special pho. most times we don't need to wait to order as he knows what we usually order, so we tell him the usual. I also bring my staff here sometimes as we work across the street. We try to eat here at least once a month when we have time for lunch and can get back for the afternoon patients.

Great veggie pho! Although I'm usually not picky with my pho, this place has an exceptionally tasty broth. Tapioca desserts are delicious too! Get the sweet potato and you won't be disappointed.

My husband & I come here at least once a month. The owner is friendly and always greets his customers like they're long lost friends, and remembers what they've ordered previously as well! Talk about customer service! I like their veggie pho and vermicelli w/ spring rolls, and my husband likes the pork chops, lemongrass chicken and beef stew. We would eat there more often, but the parking is limited, so when it's full, we must sadly go somewhere else.

Tan and crew are always friendly, welcoming us with a cheery "hello my friend!" and knowing our order as soon as we take a seat. I call in our usual (beef ball pho, side order extra noodles, and spring rolls) so often, Tan already knows its me without asking, and tells me by name that it will be ready in 10 minutes. He asks how my hubby and kids are doing, too. Perfect anytime, especially for rainy nights and days when you're under the weather, yummy comfort food and great service = very happy tummies here!

This place looks a chinese take out place, but the food is the shizzle! I ordered spring rolls and it came with vermicelli noodles and cut veggies. It was refreshingly delicious. Perfect size with a good crunch-- tasty meat filling with the correct proportion of noodle to meat! The combination/special pho was really good too. The broth was very savory compared to the Vietnamese restaurant next to Ross. They package the pho up really well when you get your order to go because the noodles, vegetables, meat, and broth all come in separate containers. The packaging is really well thought out, so nothing gets soggy! The owner and the lady who works the register are really sweet. The owner even remembered my order from yesterday. And yes, I am guilty of coming here two days in a row. It was THAT good! :) My taste buds are already looking forward to my next visit here. Oh and I noticed that the bowls are pretty large when you eat in--- so you might possibly get more food if you eat there. I will give it a try when I'm super hungry.

Some of the best pho on the windward side. Friendly service and you don't have to wait all day. The owner never forgets a name or your favorite dish. My favorite is the oxtail pho, spring rolls and an iced coffee..who can pass up an iced coffee? Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Our first time here was directly after the airport with some friends. We've gone back atleast twice a month since. The husband and wife treat us like family and hold our youngest son and treat them with cookies after dinner. They're now Auntie and Uncle. We only order chicken Pho and tofu spring rolls. It's delicious and not overly salty Pho, which you will often find at other places. The broth is flavorful and the wife cooks it the same everytime. There is always seating and parking is convenient but can get cramped sometimes. Oh! and BYOB! Bring your own beer!

Me: I'm hungry! Are we going to do dinner tonight? I haven't had anything to eat all day, but an apple and coffee. Kelly's dad: What do you girls want to eat for dinner? Kelly: Let's go get pho! Me: Where do we go? Kelly: Saigon Noodle. Kelly's dad: then let's go get pho! It was a cold rainy day, pho was a good choice. Never had I been to Saigon Noodle House, but I have seen it leaving a neighboring restaurant. What caught my attention is that they have bah mi (Vietnamese French Sandwich). It is a challenge to find a Vietnamese restaurant that serves those delicious crispy french bread sandwiches. But I haven't gotten a chance to try it. I did however get the combination pho! Brooth: 3.5 stars. Meats: 3.75 stars. It was good! It is a family run business. The whole family helps! The kids were the ones the brought our menus and water to us as we sat down, then they returned back to the back table to finish their homework. Then the mom came to take our orders. Then the father came out to confirm our order and serviced us the rest of the time. They were fast and friendly. I will be back to try those sandwiches!

BEST SPRING ROLL PORK VERMICELLI EVER!!! I was sad when I moved to the windward side because it meant that my days of Vietnamese deliciousness would be few and far between. But, then I was introduced to this place by my husband... Damn, he knows me well. I love me a bargain, and honestly for the price you cannot be beat. I am a very, VERY, VEEERY BIG eater. I actually feel full after eating here. Other places I need appetizer, main entree, second main entree, and dessert. Here, one bowl... I is all good. I is all good and I is happy. The owner has an eidetic memory. He even knows me over the phone. Makes a girl feel special :) My husband just asked if I'm giving them five stars. My response... HELL YEEAHHH!!!

The pho here is AMAZING. I decided to try this restaurant one day since my friend always talks about how good it is, and surprisingly it was! The restaurant looks like a decent takeout place, but don't let looks deceive you! Pho and springs rolls were delicious! Huge servings of pho and the spring rolls were pretty large too! The man who owns the restaurant is very friendly and makes you feel at home! The service was quick and the food was made very fast and everything looked clean! I also got a flan for dessert to go and it was good Defiently will be coming back here to eat again!

There are countless Pho shops on Oahu. We have been to some including the shops downtown that have the long lunch lines. This is the only one we go to now. Yes, we like the owner who has memorized all our favorite dishes. Now that I have a couple of favorites that I order regularly it just takes an eye brow motion to order what I want. I think my daughter has figured this out too. No words exchanged. He also knows that even though my wife keeps saying she will order something different...9 out of 10 times she will get the beef with tendon pho. This is a true neighborhood business. If you don't live or work in Kaneohe there is no reason to come here. No reason to drive across town to come here. There are no specials and no coupons. No reason to try the new pho shop down the street. You know what you are going to get and you know that you are going to come back. It is all based on the personal relationship and repeat customers. I did bring my (from mainland) sister here along with her husband. They enjoyed it greatly. My brother-in -law got the sate chicken on my recommendation and loved it. For them it was an exotic dining experience, entering a world that was very foreign to them. Flavors that they have never experienced. The pho and other dishes are consistent. Sate chicken has been exactly same the 100 times that I have ordered it. Now that I'm vegan it is either the veggie/tofu pho or tofu eggplant with brown rice. Both are excellent and very nutritious. It is great that they have chosen to accommodate vegetarians. I add all the bean sprouts and other fresh herbs to the pho. Ono Sometimes tight parking. Great service. They take visa and Mc. My best experience at Saigon Noodle House: Watched the first grade daughter running the cash register and swiping the credit cards one night ...with dad looking over her shoulder. She did it perfectly! So cute! Yep. Yep. Yep. We're going back!!

I eat here once a week. Really, once a week. Me and the owner are buds, let me tell you. I just can't help it, I'm addicted to their beef ball pho. The broth is flavorful yet light, and comes with a generous amount of basil, sprouts, and whatever your choice of protein. On non pho-craving days, I order my second favorite: lemongrass chicken. I actually talked with the owner about adding some variety and spontaneity to my life and he suggested I get lemongrass chicken AND tofu. Now, this man knows what he's talking about. It was such a welcome change from straight chicken, and the fact that he could allot for such a modification means everything is made when you order it. Especially now, making food post order is a small request (we'd all like to think), but that's not always the case we must remember! But if you're in the mood for lemongrass chicken, and you're up for some variety, substituting some chicken for tofu is a good idea. Now the spring rolls. I am dedicating an entire paragraph to spring rolls. They are amazing. I don't know what's in them that makes them so good, but they are. Sometimes if I get my food to go I save the spring rolls, and they end up in the refrigerator, and I eat them cold. And they're still amazing. I've converted a few former-non-Saigon Noodle House-eaters on cold spring rolls alone. So if you grace this establishment with your presence, get the spring rolls.

If you can find this little hole-in-the-wall pho shop, then it is worth it! Walking in, you're greeted by the owner Tan (spelling?). You seat yourself most of the time. Service is usually fast and efficient, water will be brought to your table right away. Favorites of mine are the chicken pho and the garlic shrimp. I also like the rare beef pho. They do not have brisket though. What REALLY makes this pho though, is the chili oil. It is usually situated on each table, but ask for it if it's not. The chili oil is rather spicy, but it's not greasy, it's beautifully tangy, and it complements meat nicely. It is also nicely priced. It is 8-9 dollars for a bowl of pho, and about 10 dollars for a plate lunch. Take-out is available too. If you are out in Kaneohe, and have a hankering for pho, then THIS is definitely a place to check out!

I'd give 4.5 stars if that were an option. My family loves this place. On our recent visit, we had the Papaya salad with lemongrass chicken, beef pho. and a couple of plate lunches (kalbi and shrimp, kalbi and spicy chicken). All of it was plentiful and tasty. We even had the option of brown rice on the plate lunches -- a nice bonus. Every dish was under $10, which is great for us. My only complaint was that the spicy chicken was not very spicy, but that's been a common issue here in Hawaii. :-( The service is excellent here. The owner knows my wife and daughter (they've been before on a semi-regular basis) and even knows their usual order. Food came out quickly. Inside of restaurant is small and unremarkable. Cool AC, so bring a sweatshirt or wrap if you need it. Parking at Enchanted Lakes is busy but plentiful and free. This spot is a gem and we'll be back.

The man who works the front is super friendly! The quality of the food was excellent as always! The lemonade is the best lemonade I ever had EVER! The price is normal for it being in Hawaii! The humidity inside the restaurant has to go, but in the bright side they have fans! Lol!

My husband & I stopped in for a late lunch. It wasn't crowded, which didn't seem abnormal since it was around 2pm. My husband ordered the Pho and I ordered Pad Thai. 1) Pho w/vegetables & tofu was excellent - 5 star. The broth was seasoned perfectly and the vegetables were fresh. 2) Pad Thai w/shrimp was lackluster - 2 star. The noodles were overcooked, sticky and flavorless overall. The shrimp were good; perfectly cooked. I should know better, though, than to order a Thai dish at a Vietnamese restaurant. The folks working there were nice and attentive, and the prices were reasonable, $9.75 for each dish, which is why I give this place a 4-star rating. We will certainly be back, but next time I'll order a Banh Mi or the Pho.

First time eating Pho officially, as I've tried the broth before at another restaurant. But from entrance the place was very welcoming, and the owner..which I couldn't catch his name, was upbeat & very friendly. He insisted on the spring rolls, which was amazing & beef stew pho, which was unreal!!! So good for a 1st timer and definitely will be back. Thank you for your exceptional service, good food & great price.

Absolutely love this place! I've eaten here many times when I was a child; 5 years later the owner still remembers me. The pho combos are tasteful and well proportioned. The spring rolls are 7.25 I believe without tax; the rolls were super crispy and very delicious. The noodles have a great texture. The environment is friendly. Love this place!!

Parking: Private lot, small and annoying Location: Excellent, in the heart of Kaneohe Price: $ comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants Service: The best! Food: 5/5 stars :) My Vietnamese boyfriend, "No one makes better pho than my mom" kinda guy, has tried a few pho joints on the island and just always so disappointed. I finally took him here and he won't be getting pho anywhere else anymore. Though no one will ever make better pho than mom, this place comes close. My family had never tried Vietnamese food before, but we got them hooked. They're still not big pho fans, but they love the fried spring rolls. Me personally, I love the spring rolls, the fresh fresh veggies, and the bbq beef! It's like kal bi without the fat, and sooo tender. Yum. Oh yeah, and the coconut tapioca is terrif! Also papasan there remembers EVERYONE. Even if you've only gone there once, the next time you go he will know what you ordered and everything. I don't find this creepy at all, he must be some kind of savant. Service here is 100% the best! If you're ever in the mood for the best pho & spring rolls, hop your happy butt over here!

My Supervisor wanted to treat me to lunch in Kaneohe, so we settled on Vietnamese and she took me to her favorite hangout! Parking is limited due to the small private lot, but once you see an open you quickly move to it. Seating is open and first come first serve. When entering, the waiter shouts at you 'how many in your party?' and you easily shout back the number while finding a table. He quickly comes by and brings ice water and the menu. When you know what you want, ordering becomes second nature and I didn't have to wait long. I ordered the Pho Special (which is like a combination of tripe, meatballs, brisk, steak and tendons). One good thing, was that all Pho orders are only one size; luckily I came with an appetite. My Supervisor ordered the Vermicelli Spring Rolls. Our food was ready in less than ten minutes and we were attacking our dishes. The beef broth hit the spot with taste and the temperature hot enough to cook the steak slices. I love my veggies, so when I asked to have double the vegetables - the dish came at a regular size. Two leaves of lemon grass, two stocks basil and handful of bean sprouts with a slice of lemon. When restaurants favor my request - and don't charge me for extra veggies on the bill I usually leave a 25% tip. If you're a person that likes to drink water, you may need to wave down the waiter. While we were there for little under an hour; our water was empty, no one came by even though the restaurant was a third full. But I wasn't too picky that time, due to drinking all the good tasting beef broth. All in all, I wouldn't mind going back to try their other dishes and update my review.
