A 3 star is considered "A-Ok" and our stay at Paradise Bay Resort was NOT A-Ok. I would call it "Ok, but in serious need of improvement." Where to begin....? I think this "resort" will be fine for some people. Honeymooners and/or large groups looking for a roof over their heads that wont strain their wallets will probably be pleased. My wife and I are seasoned travelers, and we were less than impressed. First off, the location of the place had me wondering if we had gotten lost. The neighborhood looks a bit sketchy, as every house in the area looked like it was in the midst of a rummage sale, with all their belongings set out in the yards and old boats and cars up on cinderblocks. Not exactly a beach paradise. Then, their advertised "beach" is a sad and pathetic bit of dirty sand between two of their buildings, maybe measuring 10-15ft across and about 3 feet wide. It took us awhile to find the "beach" as it was hidden, like I mentioned, between two of their units. Like room service everyday? Forget it. They'll come and clean when they get around to it; about once every 2-3 days. Want to call the front desk to ask when you'll get service? You'll have to use your cell phone, as there is no phone in the room. Like doing dishes, using the same towel everyday, and making your bed on vacation? You'll love the do-it-yourself philosophy of Paradise Bay. Be VERY careful negotiating the stairs at night or after rain. There is a startling lack of lighting. Both my wife and I almost fell trying to leave early in the mornings (to get a spot on any of the overcrowded beaches). Ill post a photo of the stairs we had to negotiate in the pitch dark. The "resort" reminds us not of a resort, but of cabin rentals. More like a "lodge" if you ask me. The rooms are way too close to each other and the residents are not very conscious of noise pollution. We heard our neighbors every time they put their forks down on the table. While the rooms are clean, they arent anything special either. The furniture out on our "lanai" spelled moldy and needed a good cleaning. I'm not sure what the room we booked looked like as we were supposedly "upgraded" to a 1 bedroom with a view. Not sure what they mean by a "view" as all we could see were other units. Maybe they meant "you can get lucky while looking in the windows of other rooms and catch some honeymooners in flagrante delicto." You are right there on top of each other anyway.... One of the things that really irritated us was our arrival. We came on Christmas day and most everything had closed up early. The resort was having a dinner that night, but when we asked what we could do about food we were told to use Yelp to find some place. Huh?!? You are actually serving food but cant throw together a plate to someone who just arrived? Cmon. If you are running a "resort" you need to have some food options available. Heck, even some crackers or a frozen dinner for sale in the lobby would have been fine. Definitely dont prepare a dinner while we stand there and tell us we cant have anything. Thankfully we found a sushi place open down the road. The sushi people werent happy to be working either but at least they managed to throw some food on a plate for us. The breakfast was not too bad, but I laughed at how they served Morningstar sausage patties and claimed they did so because of "eco conscious" reasons. Really? Did you ever look at the ingredients of one of those things? It's like a chemist's wet dream. Ditch the Morningstar and get some real sausage or bacon. Some Pros: The room in general was clean and updated. The free kayaks and snorkeling gear is a plus. They do sometimes have food available and some sort of show one day a week. It is reasonably located near most of the things you'll want to see and do. Its cheap, but it really had us wishing we had just forked over the money to stay someplace nicer. Well, let's be honest, we really ended up wishing we had picked another island entirely.... That being said, if you are on a budget and Hawaii is on your bucket list, I think you'll be fine. If you are the type of person who wants your vacation destination to be as nice or nicer than your actual home, skip Paradise Bay. It was basically one of the few places available by the time we booked, so I would call it more of a "last resort" than a real vacation resort.

If you're staying here inspect your room very carefully, friends from out of town had a unit where the sliding door to the balcony could not lock at all, also the adjoining gate on the lanai between their unit and the next could not be locked due to the latch being broken, just a little ghetto, also at 200+ a night not a good deal.

Picture perfect location right on a lagoon near Kaneohe Bay. A few reasons why Paradise Bay falls short. It's true this is a boutique resort with not that many rooms or amenities. There's free breakfast for guests in the morning and free kayak rentals. Other than that, the rooms are a bit dated and the layout of the resort takes some getting used to. There are stairs everywhere since the parking lot is at the top of the hill and the buildings go down towards the lagoon. Being on the windward side of Oahu, it rains a lot which means lots of vegetation and lots of bugs. There's not much you can do to keep all bugs out of the rooms. So you'll have all kinds of flying bugs day and night. There's a per night resort fee which they won't charge you for if you book on their website. I paid in advance and thought the total was the total. But they tacked on resort fees and when I emailed them after I checked out to ask about what these fees were, they never responded. Poor customer service. Staff should always respond to customer questions. Yes, I did check out already and paid them in full, but that doesn't mean they can just ignore me since the transaction is over. Paradise Bay also does discounted boat rides out to the Kaneohe sandbar which seemed dope. It was only a couple days a week which didn't coincide with our stay there. They didn't accommodate us to come back for the boat ride even though we stayed for two nights out there. Again, customer service. Sometimes you gotta accommodate customers such as letting them PAY for a boat ride even though they checked out a few days before. I wasn't trying to get any freebies. It was a paid boat ride. The hotel pickings are slim outside of Waikiki but in the future, I'll probably stick with Waikiki. If you have to be in Kaneohe, I think Paradise Bay is the only spot. The best part of the trip was the free kayaks. We kayaked around Kaneohe Bay for four hours and got lost on our way back. Remember your route out and you'll have an easier time on the way back.

What a nicely kept resort. Have you ever been to a resort or hotel and its obvious that corners were cut and everything used was cheap or needed to be painted. Well, this resort is the opposite! It's very well maintained, and it really does remind me of what Hawaii hotels should be like. I.E. on the water, birds, fish, and a complete feeling of being in a tropical place! The only improvement I'd recommend is changing the breakfast menu up some and having a fresh waffle maker!

If you like a bed and breakfast style resort that is off the beaten path with a friendly staff and great breakfast, than this is the place for you. It is not a Turtle Bay style of resort. What we found most appealing about it is that it is far enough off the main road that traffic noise was minimized. If you have a waterfront suite, like we did, you will find the tranquility and views very enjoyable. Also, the equipment you have access to during your stay for no additional fee (eg. Kayaks, snorkeling) is in very good shape. And, finally, we did the Wednesday and Friday dinners which we found worth the additional fee. We would stay again.

You can tell a great business by how they treat their...cats. If it wasn't already apparent how awesome this place is with its secluded location, private cove, friendly staff, and clean well decorated rooms then it becomes apparent when you meet the permanent residents, a pack of 15 feral cats that the owners have invited to make their home at Paradise Bay. This cute little ragamuffin group roam the properties, being sure to congregate at the right time (check in, check out and dinner time) to collect lots of pets. Each one has been spayed and neutered and given all their shots. And thanks to the staff and guests, they all are fat and happy, particularly the guests favorite, a little black one named Sammy who works the night shift behind the front desk. We had a super time at Paradise Bay Kayaking, hanging out at the pool and just hanging out on the water. This is a great off the beaten path accommodation that is both unique and Tranquil. And you know that any business who takes on the time and expense to take care of feral cats, will be equally as attentive to their guests!

Arrived a bit early (1 hour) asked to come back. Came back still had to wait and additional 40 minutes. Got to the room it was dark, hot , one bed had blood spots on it and the other was wet. There was food left in the fridge. Manager was accommodating and refunded our money. The view was fantastic and it probably would be a good for older couples no kids. The front desk girls were not very warm and friendly. The Male manager was real nice. Neighborhood was seedy...

While this is a really beautiful setting I have to share some concerns. We stayed 4 days and never had housekeeping. No fresh towels, no garbage emptied, no bed making. In a beach resort, you kinda want fresh towels, and after 2 days in a humid warm climate the garbage starts to well, smell. After a rather cool day of swimming in the rain I really wanted to warm but the hot tub was broken the entire time we were there although they kept telling us it was fixed. Also the bathtub stopper didn't work so I couldn't take a bath but after calling up to the office they brought out a new stopper about an hour later. They also brought fresh towels at my request and took out the garbage but didn't sweep or clean or make the beds. And don't trust any websites - like Lonely Planet - that tell you the drinks, fire show, or catamaran trip are free. They're not. The kayaks were free and that was a nice touch. And the breakfast was lovely, especially if you get up for sunrise and hear all the birds singing. Arrive early to get the best tables. I only discovered some of the really nice views the last day - they are only available to people who stay in the expensive suites - there is literally a fence that keeps you from seeing the views on the other side of the road. But if you walk down the road a ways you can see them from there. Next time I'll stay in Kailua.

Very quiet and relaxing! We had a studio suite w/ a small lanai. (room with lowest rate). Very spacious, simple and comfortable. We only stayed for 3 nights (didnt want to wear out our welcome at my parents). They serve a great complementary continental breakfast every morning out side in the lobby that over looks the Koolau and the sea. They offer fresh towels and house keeping everyday! It's totally different from Waikiki! Great area to venture out and enjoy this part of the island. My boyfriend loved it! Especially when we're driving down Kamehameha Hwy, great views! It is much cooler on this side of the island and very local. Not a touristy area at all. Not a shopping destination, its more of an outdoor activity kinda area. We got a chance to enjoy Mai Tai night w/ live Hawaiian music. My boyfriend had a chance to hear live Hawaiian music! Staff are sweet. Area is great! The rooms are comfortable. Will come again next year!

More like cabins than a resort. Tiny AC unit couldn't cool the room, so after two sweltering days the manager changed our room. Lots of guests complained about hot rooms. Three almost dead cockroaches in our first room, too. Second room was much cooler and no critters. Breakfast was tasty but nearly the same every day. Parking is very difficult. Must drive through rundown neighborhood to get to the resort, but once there the grounds there are beautiful. The best part was the fire show and dinner. Definitely worth the price. Book before checking in and get 20% off the show. Musicians were excellent and the fire dancers was very friendly and entertaining.

We really enjoyed our stay at Paradise Bay Resort. It is out of the way and not near other hotels, which is ideal. The mornings are gorgeous and quiet (from human noise) and you can hear the sounds of the birds while sipping coffee on your porch. Terrific breakfast (but get there early as there is always a run on the pineapple). The staff is wonderfully helpful. You can rent kayaks, though we didn't. One thing I was quite disgusted about was the very rude families that were staying there when we were there. Several nights during the week guests can pay $35 for a traditional Hawaiian dinner and live music that plays on the open air patio. Just below that, a very rude family with their kids plunged into the pool area and began "playing" (i.e., screaming) while the musicians were trying to play and guests were trying to enjoy their evening. Since some people have no common courtesy, I recommend the hotel staff either close the pool area during those times or inform guests they need to use the pool quietly. Hard to believe you have to make such rules, but I guess you do. Our room was clean and relaxing and we had everything we needed for a week long stay. I would definitely go back!

Paradise Bay Resort really is a hidden gem! It's off the tourist path, and a little country! It sits in a pond/mountain view area.... So if you're looking for the beach shore, you won't find it here! However, I found I could only do the "beach" so many days, and this was a perfect break from that! The rooms are beautiful, and well kept. Staff is friendly and helpful, and grounds are gorgeous with spectacular views! Go big or go home, reserve a bay/mountain view room! It comes with a huge furnished patio! Pool is great, free kayak rental, fitness studio and yoga! We enjoyed this place so much on our honeymoon!

Paradise Bay Resort is definitely for the traveler who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's secluded, quiet, hidden, tucked away in a residential neighborhood on a little bay. Blink and you'll miss it, but I'm so glad I found it. Staying here felt like I was away on a tropical retreat. The rooms aren't like your typical hotel rooms... They're almost cabin-like and had all the amenities a mini apartment would have. Living room, bedroom, bathroom, small dining area and kitchenette with microwave, fridge and hot plate. It truly has all the small touches of 'home,' down to the full set of dishes in the kitchen, the broom in the closet... even the bottle of dial soap they picked up at a local drug store in the bathroom. Everything just feels more like home and less like a stuffy, chain hotel. The staff was above and beyond friendly. As another reviewer said, you don't get welcomed with a lei here, but they do go out of their way to make your stay a true 'experience.' At check-in they give you a schedule of activities they offer - and it's really overwhelming, actually! They offer everything you could think of just at the resort alone - kayaking, turtle watching, snorkeling, paddle boarding, yoga... you name it, there's something for every single day. As for pricing - this place will leave a small dent in your wallet, but it's absolutely worth it. They view from our balcony alone was worth it! Staying here feels like you're actually living on an island as opposed to visiting an island... And when you live somewhere, you have to do things for yourself - like park your own car, carry your own bags to your room, take the stairs. No valet parking, bell hops, or elevator service here. But who cares? The tranquility this place offers is something you can't get at any other hotel in the area.

So a place that lets me bring Ollie the dog anywhere on property already gets at least a four in my rating system. Be an awesome tropical oasis only 30 minutes away from town and get a five of course. Have clean rooms, amazing views and friendly staff and now you are now my new favorite staycation location. Included in the resort fee have a pool, hot tub, towels galore, floating sun deck, huge breakfast, kayaking and snorkel equipment. Activities like Friday dinner buffet with Samoan fire show and Saturday excursion to sandbar for fee. Good for playing tourist. Now if you're looking for sandy beaches and big chain hotel type accommodations this place isn't for you. Stay in Waikiki or go to the monstrosity that is turtle bay. If you want quiet, lush tropical surroundings and a beautiful mountain or bay view and you have a well behaved pet come here! The food is fine, it's not chef mavro or anything but it's plentiful and tasty enough. It's a residential neighborhood with lots of cats and chickens. We had a one bedroom suite with full kitchen and private lanai. Had lunch and dinner on lani enjoyed views of mountains and the quiet. Staff was lovely without being overbearing. And we had more towels than we knew what to do with. Went kayaking around the bay, sunned on the floating decks and was amazed that we were only half an hour from home It's all about expectations and so people need to recognize this isn't the Westin. It's a lovely quiet bay front oasis. Definitely coming back.

A yelper previous to me has said it before it's all about expectations. For those tourist with high expectations: if you're expectation is going to be a high end classy "resort" like everyone here is complaining about you're not going to get it. No bell man or valet waiting to greet you with a lei if that's what you're expecting. No ones going to come open your door for you and blah blah blah. Go to waikiki or koolina . Oh and for those who say its "expensive" helloooo you are in Hawaii. Go to doubletree and it's still more expensive, and yes its probably nicer to your standards but it's not "Hawaii." What you will expect: friendly staff and a clean cute room. It's like cute cottages that have been upgraded inside there's everything you need to cook. This resort is located in a local neighborhood [ do you want to experience Hawaii or no?] the views are amazing. Kayak away, SUP away, or take the boat on Saturday or Wednesdays for a visit on the sandbar and a snorkel [ the crew is awesome!] kaneohe is completely beautiful and you can feel and smell the cool freshness so quite with chickens around. Just pure relaxation and bliss. Just a perfect getaway or stay cation without tons of people. Small Pool and jacuzzi [ had it all to ourselves] oh and you can bring pets! Which is a damn plus in my book. Cons: tight parking, walls are paper thin so agreed when a yelper said if you want a "romantic" getaway if you know what I mean I'm.... Probably better off somewhere else. The couch wasn't so comfy, and the cold water handle was hard to turn. I gave this place a 5 because I had tons of fun here even if I stayed for a night and two days. Just perfect to getaway and sit in awe of hawaii's beauty. I will def be back!

A really great stay! This place is a gem. We really like the local atmosphere and it is a great place to relax without all the hustle and bustle of Wikiki. I recommend getting a car though as it is off the beaten path (isn't that where you find paradise?). This is our kind of place! It's not so polished up as other resorts but it doesn't cost as much either. They do yoga in the morning several times a week, with a new athletic instructor, and she's great! If you want to sit by the ocean and relax without having raging parties outside your window on a crowded beach or in a city condo 30 floors up then this is your place. Relax in a private bungalow and just soak all of Hawaii in. You can't get that in a tourist trap. Update: I was looking at previous reviews and I noted some complaints about the room service being sporadic. We did not experience this. They cleaned the room daily, made the bed and refreshed the towels.

Beautiful place to stay!!! I stayed there for this past Labor Day weekend. I live on Oahu and wanted a quiet staycation to relax. It was very quiet and serene there. I stayed in the studio with a beautiful view of the bay. The room was up to date, clean, and very cozy. For it being on the bottom floor, I was impressed to see not a single bug in the room!! The beds were very comfortable and I slept well each night. The pool was small but perfect. It was never packed for it even being a holiday weekend. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. We had an issue with the air conditioner making a ringing noise and they came and replaced it with a new one while we out doing activities. Free breakfast every morning and they also have an event each day that is included in the resort fee. Parking is also free which is a plus. The only cons were that the stairs were pretty steep and no elevator. I had a 2 year old and an elderly mother so that part was was rough however, it is wonderful exercise! Also, there is no restaurant onsite or a store. Just a few miles away is the windward mall with restaurants and also a Safeway to shop. If you are looking for a quiet romantic get away and are willing to drive to do things, this is the place to stay.

This is TLA approved awesome hotel/resort great for miltary families, 2 rooms full kitchen, all the dinning and cooking things you would need and pets are allowed. Great pool and hot tub, shows, kayaks, Sups, breakfast and dinner on some nights. If your Army it's a drive to Schofield, but we stayed here on the way back to the main land for four days and loved it. Way better then the Inn on schofield and for the same price. It's also in the country so your not in the high traffic areas. Very peaceful atmosphere laid back fun spot. Very happy with it.

The pictures on the website are stunningly beautiful and the list of activities offered by the resort is impressive. When making reservations and speaking with Tom (?), he was extremely pleasant, accommodating, and patient with my many detailed questions. Pro's of the Paradise Bay Resort ("PBR"): 1) The (semi) private lanai was a decent size w/a beautiful view and comfy seats 2) Employees were cheerful, helpful, and treated each other with respect and were collaborative 3) Each and every guest we encountered was friendly 4) We brought a bottle of champagne to dinner without a corkage fee 5) Absolute yummiest POG Con's: PBR is located in a neighborhood with many dilapidated houses, junk yard lawns, and some intimidating characters. One day this humungous lifted pickup truck approaches us, abruptly crosses over to our side of the road, and parks in our path. This jacked dude jumps out of the truck and gestures all tough for us to "go around". I would have said something but figured it best to move along. When we arrived at the PBR, they only had a ceiling fan running when it was 88 degrees out with 100% humidity. It took at least 6 hours for the tiny air conditioner to cool the room to a comfortable temperature. I understand not running the A/C in a vacant room is the right thing do to for environmental and economical reasons, but at least turn the darn thing on my date of arrival. The walls are tissue paper thin. You can hear EVERYTHING from the shower to silverware being placed down, and every single word being spoken in your next door neighbor's room. Let's just say that if your intent is to be "romantic" and you are not an audio exhibitionist, you may want to pass on the PBR. The mattress was shot with zero support and slumped in the middle and most certainly a queen vs the king they claimed it to be. They only give you measly sheet on the bed and do not provide a blanket of any sort (not even in the useless wall furniture). Neither of us were able to fall asleep easily and woke up multiple times each night finding it difficult to fall back asleep. The PBR has an every-other-day maid service. On the one day we were supposed to have service, we were still in the room when she arrived at 10AM but departed by 10:30. They never came back in the 8+ hours we were gone. Even if you take off your shoes at the entry way or leave them on your veranda, you will get sand on the floor in a hotel room when you are in Hawai'i. After 3 nights without maid service and hardwood, that leads to sand in the bed; great addition to the already horribly uncomfortable bed. I would pass on the $25 fee for a buffet dinner and VIP Fire Show, especially if it is raining. The food was not very good, and they ran out of it while still seating people. For the show, they take us down the stairs of slimy death down to a dock where you have to jump from the land to a floating dock and stand in the pouring rain watching this poor guy perform. Not safe . How about this: charge me more money so there is enough servings for all of your guests, stop selling some non-existent VIP status for the fire show, and cancel the show when it is raining. Some other things to note: 1) After only a 5 - 10 minute shower, there was no warm water remaining for the 2nd person 2) There are stairs all over the property that when it rains (which was 80% of the time during our visit) are super slick and dangerous 3) I was discreet when explaining to Yvonne about our reasoning why we wanted to check out 2 days early. She took the approach that our reasons for departing early were without merit ("many guests say that our beds are comfortable") and therefore were not taken into consideration. Ultimately, she was unwilling to budge on the early check out penalty and we incurred a one night's stay fee (~$284+) in addition to the $400/night for a hotel in Waikiki (but slept like a baby and ate well). It is obvious that a lot of effort went into refreshing the look of this place and the employees and guests at PBR are a pleasure to be around. Unfortunately, they missed the mark from what I expect of a Hawai'ian RESORT. Maybe rename it the Paradise Bay Motel, drop the prices by $100/night and the 4 and 5 star ratings would be more appropriate.

Really lovely place, out of the busy touristy Waikiki. We wanted to stay in the east side, near Kailua, and this is pretty much the only decent hotel in that area. Pros: - love the out-of-this-world location. - well-decorated throughout - you can walk to a nearby shoreline to watch the sunrise - daily free breakfast is wonderful. we weren't expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised. Food is fresh and delicious, and the view from the porch is gorgeous. Waking up to that surrounding is priceless. - free kayak and snorkeling gear for exploring the lovely bay. Cons: - a bit out of the way from everything. So unlike in Waikiki, you will need to keep a car to get to a real beach or restaurant, etc. - the roosters: I'm with every other reviews here. Yes, the roosters are cool to look at during the day, but not when they are croaking at 5:30am when you just want to sleep in. And they WILL wake you every morning. - rooms are very small with older furnishing - AC can be noisy Suggestions for managements: - consider replacing the windows with solid pane glass! The Venetian-blind style panels may be cool to look at, they are horrible for temperature/sound proofing. Everyone here is complaining about the loud roosters. They sound loud because we're essentially leaving windows partially open all day. They're also the reason why we need to leave AC's on day-and-night, because you're trying to cool the entire neighborhood! I'll bet you can save a ton on electricity by replacing them with solid window panels. - we participated in one of your on-site dinners one day. food was wonderful and service was great. The live music was fine, but we can really do without the loud speakers. It's a small patio. We had a hard time carrying on a conversation over the loud music. Kind of loses the charm of it. Overall, if we are to stay in this part of the island, I would consider staying here again.

located on the beautiful, tropical (but rocky, aka not beachy) shores of kaneohe bay, paradise bay resort is a hidden gem. it's far from the touristy waikiki and isn't your typical "resort." if you're looking for that kind of experience, maybe better off going to ko olina. if you're looking for a charming, off the beaten path bed and breakfast style experience, COME HERE! yes, it's a very local neighborhood, but no need to be scared! even if the stray cats and chickens given you pause, keep going, because the views and location cannot be beat. staff is friendly and rooms are clean. they do this eco-green thing where they change the sheets every 3 days, but housekeeping does come every day. did not see any bugs during our stay, btw. resort fee is charged, and includes breakfast buffet (with STUNNING views), kayaking equipment, access to pool/hot tub, gym, and beach towels. there are floating docks to relax on and for extra fee you can have dinner offered several nights a week, friday fire show, or sandbar excursion on certain days. staff says they are planning to expand to offer meals every day in the future. the breakfast buffet was a nice spread: hot foods, fruit, breads, bagels, oatmeal, coffee, tea, juice, etc. our room was a 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen, dining room, living room, and private lanai with bay view. an adorable rustic bungalow style lodging -- simply perfect. this place is dog-friendly and offers a kama aina discount for locals. do your research, this is the windward side of the island; it's more tropical and likely to rain at some point during the day. but, if you're willing to spend a few days away from the beach and tourists, but still get plenty of sun, why not come to this amazing hideaway?

This has got to be one of the worst places to stay in Kaneohe let alone all of Hawaii. I do not and would not recommend this place to anyone. It is extremely expensive for crap. I was expecting a luxurious resort and spa for the price. Nothing even close to that here. For the money you could probably get a nice suite at some other hotel. I found only one person out of the whole staff working at the time of my visit (4 days) to be friendly and helpful. The others were either incompetent or had no customer service. First off, the entrance to your room is a sliding door with a key hole. Seems sleezy and cheap looking to me. Anyone can look into your room if you leave the drape open. The room looks like a dorm room. My wife walks in to use the bathroom, opens the toilet set and the toilet is filled with urine and feces/crap whatever you'd like to call it, it was in there. If that wasn't bad enough the place is infested with cockroaches. If you like sleeping with bugs and roaches then this might be the place for you but it is not my cup of tea. Oh yea if you don't like cats do not stay here because there are a bunch wandering around the complex. Also close your slider because the cats, bugs, wasps, chickens and anything else will find its way inside. Lastly and possibly the Worst, I was here for a wedding. The bride and groom were also staying at this same DUMP. The day of the wedding the power goes out. You'd think okay they have back up generators to power everything. WAIT! SHOCKER...OF COURSE NOT. So not only was everyone staying at this craphole out of power, we were all melting from the heat because outside it was around 96 with high humidity. Without the wall units blowing cool air it was probably over 110 inside the rooms. This place only had 1 small generator with enough power for their computers. SAD...VERY SAD! Oh yea parking is horrible.

I don't understand why there are any negative reviews about this place. This place is amazing! When you think about visiting Hawaii, this is the experience you'd expect. The landscape is beautiful, the buildings themselves are beautiful, & the decor just adds to everything. Someone came to our room everyday to replace our used towels & washrags for new ones, make our bed, & empty our trashcans. There was even a little card you could leave on the bed if you wanted the sheets changed. I didn't expect any of this due to a previous review so it was a nice surprise. The staff is extremely friendly & there was always someone at the front counter to help us or answer our questions. There is one house nearby that has a few dogs, some of which run free but they are all extremely sweet, well behaved, & don't do anything to bother anyone. The walls may be a little thin but I was here on a holiday weekend & my room was right in the middle of the resort & with the air on, it was still for the most part quiet & secluded in the room. The noise level is the same you'd expect at any other hotel. I have no complaints, I love this place & will definitely be back!

I've been putting off this review for a while. It's tough - 'cause some of the staff here were SO nice & I had a fun relaxing vacation... so that alone makes me want to give it 5 stars. Plus use of the Kayaks was also super duper fun! Yet in all honesty, the hotel itself is a pretty solid 3-Star "A-OK" in my mind (and that's not a bad thing - it's just not outstanding)! Many have already commented on the name... it's definitely not a "typical" resort (and we knew that when we booked the trip). We've stayed at nice homey/funky places & fancy stereo-typical resorts - and this place was much more homey/funky than resorty... if you're prepared for that - it's fine! What got me, though - was it was expensive, still! No phones in the room (that can be good or bad - depending on your perspective). Not terrible - but anytime you had a question for the front desk - you had to make that long schlep up those steep stairs to ask them in person. I didn't mind the stairs... but you DO need to watch your step & use the handrail. I am healthy, fairly fit, kinda-sorta athletic & I ALMOST stacked HARD after the rain one morning on those stairs! So be careful! Walls are pretty thin (could hear our neighbors showering) - but the place seemed to attract an older, mellow crowd - so it wasn't a problem. Breakfast was fine. Nothing great... but filled us up & kept us going until lunch. My regular breakfast was fruit, their scrambled eggs with LOTS of salt & pepper to give 'em some flavor, and 4 mini cinnamon buns (reminded me of "Little Debbies" or something). Hot tip - bring a mug for coffee from your room! Less waste & you won't scorch your hands. Kayaks are awesome - but you have to have them back by a certain hour (5pm??) - so don't expect to do a sunset Kayak or any long trips. Hot tub was cold.... the pool felt warmer, though. We used the BBQ Grill to cook up some chicken - which was nice. In room fridge is super handy - but it's not a full sized fridge by any stretch - so you may have to get creative. The expensive rooms seemed to look over the Bay - which would be beautiful! But we didn't want to spend that kind of money. The gal at the front desk & the house keeper were the BEST! They made you feel welcome & seemed like they would bend over backward for their guests. One guy (I think he was a manager or owner) was kinda not-so-helpful, though. I came there to watch an International Sailing Event on their Bay - and asked him about it... he had absolutely NO idea about it. This kinda shocked me! There were even sailors IN the event staying at the hotel & he had no clue. No biggie - but surprised me. And when I asked if he knew of any spectator boats (the hotel has a barge they take guests out on for a fee) or how I could find out how to get on the water - he said he would "call the captain" and get back to me - but I never heard from him. All and all... it was a clean, quiet, relaxing place to sleep at night on a pretty side of the island. To me - it was 1000 times better than staying in or near the city! I'll probably check VRBO 1st, though - next time I go to Oahu (unless Paradise Bay either lowers the rates a little, or ups the standards a little).

This is my most favorite place to stay in Oahu. Such a different scenery and experience fro any other part of the island. This place is located in Kaneohe Bay, right next to the water. Views are absolutely gorgeous. The place is located in the middle of the jungle, there are some local houses around but no sense of touristy places what so ever. I love to wake up with roosters, brings me back to my childhood. They serve amazing breakfast, eggs, various juices, yogurt, fresh fruits and everything is super healthy unlike hotels in Waikiki. Another great plus is that you can take kayak for free and the bay is so peaceful and beautiful. This hotel also offers various events. One of the nights there was traditional dance with fire and another day they have boat cruise at no charge. If you want to experience different Oahu, this place is a great way to do that, no tourists around, no huge shopping malls, super peaceful and nice here. It is also super close to Byodo Temple, which is a must see while in Oahu.

A wonderful stay in all it's entirety! The staff are super friendly and helpful, the setting is pure paradise. The breakfast is great, the free kayaks and snorkeling gear is awesome and you're in a spot within 15 minutes kayak to a coral head where turtles and fish reside! The beds feel like cloud 9! Pros - almost like renting a condo. Great staff and free parking. Rooms are renovated on the inside and each has a water front view. Includes snorkelling and kayaking , standing board. Cons- the exterior is dated, and still uses a room key. No grocery store nearby and the neighbourhood around this hotel is seedy. Parking spots are tight. Price- average to high for what you get. We spent $300 per night for a condo type two King beds. Needs drastic improviementsnoise is atrocious. Walls are thin. There are cats and dogs everywhere. A lot of people are not pet lovers and some even have allergies. Appearances are everything and for that amount of money, I can get a suite at outrigger on waikiki. I would return if I have a lot of disposable income. It's like a Starbucks. Over priced but a guilty pleasure.

Really beautiful hotel about 40 min drive from Waikiki. If you're looking to beat the tourists and live in a really secluded neighborhood surrounded my nothing but wildlife, this is the place to go. A really nice honeymoon retreat! I also really liked that they provided free breakfast. Many other hotels do not! -1 star because there are some details that the hotel should have provided before we stayed here. 1. the kayaks and gym equipment is NOT free. 2. There should be helpers to help lug in the luggage especially on such a steep hill. 3. Rent a car! Unless you want to take the bus to go everywhere. Other than that it was a really lovely experience and a pleasant change to the busy touristy areas of Waikiki. PS check out the shrimp food truck about one block from here near the 7-11! It's really yummy.

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in during my 8 years and my husband's 10 years in the military. These people are TLA approved yet they lie to the TLA office to get service members from their full TLA. One staff member says yes you don't have a full kitchen because you only have a microwave and portable burner, while the manager says no you do have a "full kitchen". I've never been to a country where a microwave and portable burner are considered a full kitchen. The parking situation is a disaster! There's limited parking and they block half of them off for no such reason at all. The room had dirt and trash on the floor upon check-in and the rooms are never maintained; we had to ask every time we wanted towels or our room serviced at all (trash taken out, new towels). There were multiple holes in the walls with paint crumbling off, the plates are broken on the electrical outlets which can't be safe at all especially with the humidity in the room, there's no seal on the door as you can see clear to the outside when it's completely closed, and there was a permanent odor of urine and feces in the sitting area on our lanai and there's absolutely no privacy! We could hear every footstep and laugh from our neighbors and people walking around at all hours of the night. On the TLA form it says "free breakfast" but this hotel actually makes you pay a $25 resort fee...they also advertise that they have a pool, fitness room, canoes, kayaking and paddle boarding available but what they don't tell you is you have to pay the $25 resort fee each day you want to use these amenities and the dinners are an additional $35 per person. The staff is nice though.

For the price, really poor experience. My main gripes have to do with customer service and the noise on the property. My husband is a naval officer, we were moving to the island with the military. I booked our visit drawn in by the beautiful photos. My first day alone in the room I enjoyed 8 hours of hammering, tearing down of walls, and screw driving. The next day, the resort ended up changing our rooms because of a leak. We hauled our stuff to a new suite. The room was visually beautiful, however, the ceiling fans shook when turned on and the a/c was incredibly loud. It was another very noisy room. We could also hear everything our neighbors were doing. We checked into a less expensive room for the next ten days of our stay. The new room really had no windows and the refrigerator smelled like rotten meat, although it appeared clean. Water from outside also leaked under the floor into the main room, the flooring was warped from it and it was always wet. Three days after changing rooms we hadn't received fresh towels/linens. My husband went to the front desk to ask if we could have someone stop by. Our bed was full of sand and we were out of towels. The guy checked a paper and said, "you only get housekeeping every other day, today is not your day." Ok, I understand that. However, our room hasn't been visited by housekeeping in THREE days, it's 2 PM so housekeeping is here, and we're guests who are requesting service. Nope, there was nothing he could do. Ok. My husband asked for some clean sheets and towels. "Well, I'd have to go get those." Another issue with the new room was the maintenance guys parked their toolbox in front of the bedroom window/hung out there every weekday. I enjoyed many conversations, drilling, and rifling through what sounded like a metal box. The biggest issue during our stay was the resort overcharged our debit card by 3200 dollars. The first person we talked to about the error was unhelpful and denied there even was an error. The second person, also unhelpful, but they refunded the charge immediately. It became apparent the employees don't know how to work the booking system. One employee told us we had to pay upfront to get a receipt ,while another stated that was the reason we were overcharged. The only person who really seems to understand the system is Paul the manager. Overall, we were stuck in the hotel for 20 something days. It wasn't the worst experience, but if I was visiting as a tourist, it wouldn't be worth two hundred and something dollars a night.

PERFECT LITTLE GETAWAY! My husband and I came here for his birthday in early January and I swear it was the best decision ever (compared to his birthday breakfast at Aulani... get to that in another review). My son was sleeping in the car so my husband went to go check in. I am not sure if the guy noticeed or my husband said it was for his birthday but they gave us champagne and chocolates... talk about SERVICE and caring for your guests! I thought that was really sweet. The guy even walked down to where we were supposed to park and it would be a LOT closer to our room. Our room had a spectacular view of the bay and it was so calm and peaceful. The suite had two bedrooms, a huge claw foot type bath tub, and a spacious lanai to relax on. Oh it also had a nice kitchen area with full fridgerator, burners, and sink to cook with if you so chose. My husband and I spent most of our time on the lanai with our son because he enjoyed looking at the water. Unfortunately since we checked in on a Saturday, we weren't able to get on the boat cruise. However we were still able to check in at 1 which was nice. We went to walk around the resort and everyone was in a good mood including the guests. Apparently they were going to renovate the pool for the Travel Channel (aka BOOK NOW before it gets crazier) so lots of people were enjoying that while they still could. We also hung out in their "lobby." The lobby is where they hold their Wednesday night music thing (I think?) and their complimentary breakfast. While the breakfast wasn't amazing, they kept it stocked at ALL TIMES and it was decent... the papaya was good :). They didn't have a high chair for my son so he kept running around everywhere and no one seemed to mind. I am totally stoked about going back soon and hopefully for a LONGER vacation. I loved how everyone was so friendly and relaxed. The place was gorgeous and it was so peaceful there. You're even able to book spa treatments and pedicures (a guy was there booking his when we were hanging out in the lobby) in a special room. There's a lot of stuff you can do there and I hope someone gets us a room there for my birthday... hint hint ;).

The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is because our spa bath did not work, and that was actually the only reason I went for the upgraded room. This is a great place to stay - with a few caveats. These are old style Hawaii buildings, so noise travels super easily. Someone had the bad idea to put laminate flooring in the rooms, which looks amazing, but creates an echo chamber. Tip: Run the A/C on fan mode if you want some white noise. The staff was super, super friendly. If you can get a top floor room, you'll be in heaven. Be careful on the stairs. And remember, if you're staying on an upper floor, the neighbors downstairs will be jarred awake when you start doing jumping jacks at 5am (like our neighbor upstairs apparently did). The bed was comfy, the location is nicer than people are saying, the morningstar sausages are great for vegans and we were very surprised at the breakfast spread. Ultimately, this is the only thing close to a hotel on the Windward side. If you really want that resort/vacation feel, your best option is Turtle Bay or the JW Marriot on the other side of the island. Need a place to call home while you're back on the island visiting the family? This is it.

Awwright! I was surprised when I got here! Definitely off the beaten path which is exactly what I was looking for. Freebies: free wifi, free parking, kayaks, pool, hot tub, breakfast. Location: tucked away off the road behind a neighborhood. Looks like this place was once an apartment complex and they did a good job converting it. Neighborhood might sketch you I guess? Just be respectful of the place and don't park on what you think is a spot when it turns out to be someone's front yard. Noise: nice and quiet unlike Waikiki, lots of birds towards the evening squawking though. Pay: coin laundry, $25 dinners on Friday(entertainment included & 2 mai tais), $25 boat excursions on Saturday to the sand bar for snorkeling. Pets: there's a pet area for your best friend. There's some cats that live there, hope you're not allergic. Room: spacious, came with a fridge/microwave, ironing board and iron, kitchenette, bathroom is spacious too. Would definitely recommend any room with a view.

This place was awesome. From the nice room that felt like home but better, to the amazing views, and everything in between. The employees were great, super friendly and lots of Aloha spirit. Breakfast was good, but having coffee on the dock on the ocean was perfect. So peaceful with plenty of nature sounds. (Some complain about birds, but this is a tropical island afterall.) So much better than waikiki crowds, basically a different world. Also not crowded like the disney resort, and this part of the island is the best. I have already recommended this place to a few, and will continue to!

Quiet. Serene. Old Hawaii. Whether you're a tourist who wants a little more nature and a little less Waikiki; or a local who wants to really "get away," this is it. My hubby took me here as a surprise date twice, and we loved it both times. The units have all been renovated nicely, and most (if not all) have a view of the water, the trees and the mountains. Yeah, the birds can get a little noisy, but it's nothing like putting up with the sounds of buses, garbage trucks, and squealing tourists in Waikiki. Plus, they offer a kamaaina rate. You just feel removed from it all, which makes for a great vacation. Plus, they have free WiFi, serve a free breakfast and offer a free buffet dinner on Wed night, and a free boat cruise out to the Sandbar on Saturdays... I heart the Sandbar, like nothing else on this island. There is nothing bad to say about this place, other than I wish I could visit more often.

Off the beaten path. Do not come here if you want to be near all your typical tourist attractions. Or if you are looking for that party atmosphere with nearest bar. That stays in Waikiki. It is a hidden gem, in the middle of a residential neighborhood. If you are tired of the Waikiki madness and traffic, then you will feel how peaceful and serene this resort can be. Breakfast on the lanai feels like you have finally arrived Hawaii. The rooms are comfortable. There is a small kitchenette and spacious shower. They provide kayaks free of charge. We took full advantage of that amenity. There are a few negatives. The paths/steps were very steep and not lit adequately enough. Although it is situated on the water with floating lounges, there is no beach. But the kayaking to the nearest one made up for that.

We stayed here over a month because my husband got orders to the island and we were in the process of buying a house. In that amount of time, you really get to know a place. The neighborhood that the "resort" is at is really sketchy and I didn't feel safe letting my kids ride their bikes up and down the road. I think staying in the rooms that aren't on the other side of the street would've been a more pleasurable experience. The building across the street is nestled in with local homes and the lady next door has a parrot that squawks all day long and a band of tiny dogs that bark and yap at all hours of the day. Sometimes her dogs get into a yapping frenzy and it sounds like a flock of seagulls going at it. Don't stay in room 3. You will be directly above the smoking/trash/maintenance area. So if your windows are open, you'll get cigarette smoke in your room guaranteed. My number one complaint is the noise, and I feel so sorry for anyone spending the money to come here for a getaway. Barking dogs, workers conversations, drilling/sawing/hammering (once I heard this all day until 7pm), leaf blowers, and roosters crowing starting at 4am are all sounds that you will definitely be treated to. The rooms themselves are newly renovated and fairly nice, however. One of the best hotel beds I've slept in. We went to the dinner one night and I hate to say the food just isn't worth $35/person, give me a break. Spend your money more wisely and go somewhere else, but if you're on military orders it's not too bad of a deal.

I initially booked this room as a little stay-cation for my boyfriends birthday. When he had to suddenly work on his birthday the staff were very friendly and helpful with trying to me find a new date to reschedule. We stayed this last weekend and it was just paradise.... So relaxing to get away from the crazy city. We had a beautiful, clean mountain view room. We took a nap in the sun on the floating docks, relaxed in the hot tub, we enjoyed a quiet free breakfast with fruit, eggs, bagels, etc. overlooking the koolaus, played with the kayaks and took them all the way to the sandbar! It was really perfect... Thank you! The staff was very friendly, approachable, and helpful. We will definitely be back...

For the price we paid (even with the local discount), I am extremely disappointed at the stay we had over the weekend. I believe that first impressions are crucial in building a positive relationship between businesses and clients. I do not believe in badmouthing workers but our negative experience at the resort was mainly due to the first 30 mins of our stay. I called two hours earlier to see if our hotel would be available before check-in time. We had a wedding to go to around the corner that evening (the reason why we decided to book the room so we could have a mini vacation) and an early check-in would make time be less of an issue. The receptionist informed us that the room wouldn't be ready until check-in time. We were fine with that and decided to explore Kaneohe instead. We arrived a little after 3pm. When we arrived, the front desk representative was assisting another guest and told us she should we back after she escorts the guests to their rooms. 2 mins later she comes back proclaiming that she forgot the room key. ::insert uncomfortable laugh:: We start to get checked-in and after 10 mins of paperwork and lack or urgency, she proceeds to "show" us our room. "showing" it to us meant that she got us lost. NO JOKE. She took us to two different rooms before proclaiming that she doesn't know where it is and that feels really bad. She was on the verge of tears. My boyfriend asks for the second time if he can see the map. She finally gives it to him the second time around and my BOYFRIEND finds the room for us. THEN, our room is not even ready! By now, it's 3:45 (45 mins past estimated check-in time). The housekeeper proclaims that the room wouldn't be ready for another 20-30 mins. Girl looks like she's about to cry again because she is smart to know how furious I am. I ask to speak to a manager. She said it's just her. I ask for another room or an upgrade. She says no. Everything's booked and there's nothing we can do. She says we can get ready in the "spa" room. By the time she GETS us to the spa room (after she has to FIND the KEY), time is up and our room is ready. She says she'll inform the manager about what happened. I just checked out today and didn't hear a thing from the manager. Utterly ridiculous. Btw, we paid for an upgrade for a View suite that was renovated. The view was not as advertised and the room didn't feel renovated. The couch on the patio was dirty and I didn't even want to sit on it. Not worth it for the 200 something we paid PER night AFTER the discount. Fix your customer service

Wonderful place to stay and the staff was AWESOME! Loved the decor and the surroundings were beautiful! Very tranquil. Talk about a little piece of paradise. Enjoyed kayaking and just sitting back and soaking it in. Staff went out of their way to accommodate our requests and to really make us feel welcome. Very conveniently located to stores/restaurants and tourist attractions. Free parking on site. Room beautifully decorated and came with fully stocked kitchen. This was a stay-cation for us and we plan to stay here again soon. Sure beats staying in Waikiki.

Wow. All I can say is WOW! A hidden gem in a small residential neighborhood, the Paradise Bay Resort is quite the find. If you're looking for a busy vacation with chain restaurants and luxury stores then head back to Waikiki. This simple getaway is a taste of untouched Hawaii. I had the pleasure of having a tour of the newly renovated studios and suites at Paradise Bay and I was thoroughly impressed. The new owners have ripped out all the old and put in new bathrooms, changed out the furniture, and given a once dilapidated B&B some much needed oomph. The resort is right on Kaneohe Bay and has studios and suites. If you want a true Hawaiian getaway stay here! So much better than a ginormous corporate tourist trap. You can paddle board, snorkel and chill out on your deck with an ocean view. They even have a masseuse available to do on property massage! If you're Kama'aina be sure to ask for the discount!

We are staying here on PCS orders (military - while our house gets ready). Overall we like the quietness of being out of the hussle and bustle. It is tucked back in a quiet neighborhood, dog friendly as there is a space to take the dogs to potty. The pool is nice and its nice to have a kitchenette in the room but its not a full kitchen as we were more expecting. There are activities to do but all most all of them you have to pay the $25 a day resort fee on top of the room fee including breakfast which I didnt think was very fair. We have enjoyed one day with breakfast (it wasnt very good in our opinion - vegan and vegetarian option for meat but no actual meat for us non-vegitarians). That day we also used one of the kayaks to go out to the ocean and it was nice to have that amenity here. Everyone here is really friendly and I think the smaller atmosphere makes the guests friendly as well. Overall its a nice litte resort.

This is as good as it gets. Have stayed at many resorts all over the world and this is in the top %3!!! MILITARY FRIENDLY (and on TLA list). Not to mention, the ONLY resort on this side of the Island. FRIENDLY staff and I saw the OWNERS every other day as they were doing maintenance and upgrades on the property. WEDNESDAY dinner was fun, FRIDAY fire show was AMAZING! I'd like to address the low scores below: Sarah, the rooms were not serviced every day, but EVERY time I asked for something (new towels or TP) I got it. I have reason to believe you ARE high maintenance. Stephanie, did you communicate this to the owners? If you're local, do the local business a favor and give them a chance to fix the discrepancies. Where is your loyalty. I've met the owners and they are VERY RESPONSIVE to constructive criticism.

1) The rooms were not serviced often enough. I am not the high maintenance guest who needs to sheets turned down daily or anything, but i would like clean towels at least twice in my week long stay without asking for them. 2) my balcony had a sink hole in it. 3) The resort promised my friend she could have her wedding ceremony in the garden. Unfortunately, the resort does not own the land that the garden is on and we could not use it. Of course we found this out less than a week before the ceremony. 4) The breakfast had yummy papaya and pineapple but there was not protein. Just carbs carbs carbs and a little fruit. 5) There was NO BEACH!!! 6) It was unsafe as hell! The walk ways are not textured and when they were wet due to the rain, i feel twice and my friend fell once. Additionally, another friend fell on the steps to one of the rooms and banged up his arm. 7) They did have ocean canoes for guest use. However, one of the wedding guests was using one and it had a hole in it!! She was smart enough to keep her phone above water and tried to call the resort but NO ONE ANSWERED!! She tried multiple times and got nothing! Luckily one of the bride's family is a lifesaver and say them out bobbing in the ocean and he saved them. 8) The trip to the coral reefs and sand bar was GREAT!! The one awesome thing was just not enough to over power the other crappy things. I would not recommend this place to anyone. For the service i got, i may as well have stayed in a motel 8 or something cheaper.

My Wife and I spent our Honeymoon there. It was incredible! I am sad to be back home. I will be back. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. My wife and I went to Waikiki a couple of times. It was too crowded and busy. Kind of like Beverly Hills On the water. Which is cool for some but not us. I'm from L.A. You can keep all that. Paradise Bay was Incredible! The staff was warm and accomodating. The views are awesome. The location perfect. We were able to access Kayaks,Snorkle gear, free mai tais,mojitoes,breakfast.It was all inclusive. The list goes on and on. You all need to check this place out! The place was just redone. Everything was new and clean. The showers where great. They have kitchens and alot of space. It's was close to some really great spots too. If you go to Hawaii , you need to check it out.

We had a group that met here, and it WAS THE best part of my Oahu vacation. The parents of one of my buddies live in HI, and they met us there. Even they were amazed with the place and would return to stay again. The views were nothing less than spectacular. The rooms were updated and classy. The service and employees were nothing less than amazing. Courteous, friendly, accommodating, and... amazing. Doreen was very helpful and assured nothing but the best for her guests. There was a Hawaiian bbq with a live band on the night we were there that definately knew how to read the relatively small and intimate crowd that was there, and made for an amazingly good time. Of the week+ we were in Hawaii, this was by far the best time I had. Kayaking and snorkeling right from the porch was rad, not to mention the views! I really don't know how to express more than that except to say that I wasn't enjoying Oahu as much until I stayed at Paradise Bay Resort, and that I would go back in a heartbeat. I heard that it is under new ownership and that management (no, no, scratch that - Gracious Hosts) wanted to get the word out...

Just returned from our 3 night stay at Paradise Bay Resort. It was a perfect place to stay on the quiet windward side of the island. The new owners have done a great job of transforming it into a delightful relaxing environment. The extras are a nice touch including the paddle boards and kayaks that are included in the daily rates as well as the breakfasts, Wednesday dinner and Friday cocktails. We loved the opportunities to meet other guests at the breakfasts and evening events. Our studio suite was huge and had a large lanai with a great view of the bay, palm tree lined canal and the lush mountains which were full of waterfalls as it rained daily. Our building had several units in it and unfortunately the sound travelled easily through the walls. This did not really interfer with our stay but did get us up earlier than we may have liked. Staff was fantastic and I would recommend it highly except to some families since there is no beach access.

What a gem! Earlier in our vacation we stayed in a huge hotel right on Waikiki beach, it was so loud and hectic- just not our thing. Later in our island hopping vacation we again were due back on Oahu... Thank goodness we found paradise bay!!! The unit was spacious and very comfortable. The slate shower was almost as cool as the gigantic lanai. The continental breakfast was a great variety and the complimentary dinner and Mai Tais served wednesday night was surreal. We kept wondering when the bill for dinner was coming! Did I mention the live entertainment? So awesome. Amenities included free parking, wifi, kayaks, pool and grocery service. My favorite thing was laying in bed... Listening to the torrential tropical rain and jungle birds. Pure paradise. All budgets welcome. Fab staff.

Very quaint, relatively quiet location (except for the occasional rowdy neighbors). Poor housekeeping service. Stayed 5 days and never received clean sheets. Maid service basically meant replacing the used sheet on the bed and new towels. Free breakfast was eggo waffles and peaches out of a can. However, they did have fresh papaya, decent coffee, bagels and instant oatmeal. There was a blow dryer but the bathroom outlet didn't work (nor did the patio light). It is in a very 'residential area' that some would perhaps call 'a ghetto.' I had a very expensive necklace in my room which is now missing. I do not blame Paradise Bay Resort but am uncertain of the security of my possessions in this neighborhood. I give it two stars because they did have free kayak and paddle board rentals and they are on a beautiful bay in Oahu, Hawaii.
