Hot inside but too cheap to turn on the air conditioner. Looks like they are brand new. We asked for it to be turned on. They said it is working but they don't use it. Door is propped open instead. Kitchen might be air conditioned. Cooler air seems to be leaking from there. Food is pretty typical L&L

I loved the L & L hawaiian on fulton street (Manhattan), so when I moved to Hawaii-- I was sure that it would be alot better! I was impressed to see the amount of items that they have on the menu. From chicken katsu, to fish, to burgers, to salad and even noodles! I got the mini version of the chicken katsu. Standard chicken katsu, but the sauce isn't anything to rave about. I am always annoyed when I look at the soda machine and see that they charge money for refills. Umm seriously? Is it that expensive to pay for soda syrup? I don't even drink soda so it doesn't really apply to me, but I always get irritated when I see that. It cheapens the look of the restaurant and I get the impression that they don't appreciate the customers. You don't see SUBWAY doing that. Plus if you're going to make that the store policy- maybe it should be neatly typed and laminated, instead of using a piece of construction paper and crayola marker to make the sign. The decorum at that place is a bit odd. There are pictures of random people on the main wall. Some people appear that they might be famous, but there are also random kids on that wall too. Maybe it's part of the L&L Ohana, but it's not very professional to have a whole wall of pictures up there. Friendly service, but keep in mind that the machine on the right side (when you enter) takes cash- only, so order at the other machine if you have a credit card. I would come back if I get a chicken katsu craving. Note: I didn't see any sriracha hot sauce! Doesn't every asian restaurant have that? haha.

Efficient service, our wait was maybe five minutes for our three orders. A regular portion was horribly filling-- the mini is the way to go for a light lunch appetite. I went for the bento for maximum meaty goodness: spam, BBQ beef, BBQ chicken, and egg. Some caramelization on the spam. Beef was slightly better than the chicken, despite my galbi expectations. Macaroni salad was okay, similar to what you'd get at a grocery store deli. Rice was seasoned but a little dry. I just didn't have the guilt allotment for a loco moco or kalua pork! Next time I'll budget more fattery on fast food.

junk!!!!!!!! most of their dishes taste like "instant" stuff. for example, their brown gravy probably comes in a bag that says, "add water". their hamburger patties tastes like they're mass produced in a mainland warehouse, and the mac salad has NOTHING on L&L Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center.

One of the most expensive l & l joints on the island. Everything is small and $2.00 more than the L & R right across the street. Came in for a breakfast combo which consist of the simple 2 eggs, meat, and rice. $6.95 plus tax. What really made things worse was the domestics going on in the kitchen. Right after the lady yelled out my order in another language there was "attitude" thrown back at her. Apparently the cook was done cooking and it went from greasy to grimy...real quick. They started yelling at each other in Korean and next thing I know he straight walked off the job. Threw his apron down and everything like he was done..done! Walked out the front door, threw on some slippers, and dipped out like he didn't care. Wait he was cooking barefoot?? Wtf? Cashier had to finish off my plate and let's just say that's the last time I'm going to L & L.

Sanitation is an issue here, got a dose of food poisoning with my bbq mixed plate, will avoid this place like the plague, and apparently three McDonalds workers on three different occassions have fallen victim to this place as well. Will stick to the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center location.

This is one of the quintessential Hawaiian plate lunch places. The regular sized plate comes with 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of macaroni salad and the mini comes with just 1 scoop of rice. Either way it's a lot of food. You probably don't need to order a regular unless you're really hungry or you're sharing. They have all the standard chicken, beef and pork dishes here including stews, curry and chili.

This location has all the regular L&L menu items but if you look in the window there's many specials. I ordered the Cheeseburger Combo Special at just under $5.00 with fries and a large drink. This value might not be as cheap as McD (across) but if you want a home made thicker patty this IS a good one with thick hot wavy french fries and a nice cold drink, this is da one Braddah!

I was actually pretty excited to eat at an authentic L&L since I go to the one in Hercules (california) regularly. Most of the L&L's seem to be located in shopping centers (just like this one). The store was pretty small with very limited seating. A major difference between this L&L and the Hercules one is that there are WAY more options. There was the standard bbq chicken but there was also kalbi, terriyaki items, kalua pork, a lot of different fish and seafood options - it was crazy!!! I ended up ordering a mini bbq chicken - came with a generous portion of chicken, mac salad and rice. There wasn't a big flavor difference with the chicken in my opinion but I thought the mac salad was better than the one in Hercules. The chicken here was also not as greasy or oily which I appreciated. Prices seemed to also be around the same for similar items. Not too shabby Hercules L&L, not too shabby at all!!

Came here for lunch during work. Not to shabby. It's a typical l&l joint so don't except fine napkins and stuff. It needs a little upkeep. It is also very hot inside. Feels like there is no air condition. Food wise though it was nice and quick. Food was ready in about 5 min. I ordered chicken katsu curry which is my fave. I ordered the mini and to my surprise it was a lot of food for a mini. I didn't even finish my plate. All in all a good place to grab a plate lunch.
