So, I didn't want to end up writing a review on my experience simply because I do feel like the owner and his daughter work hard and we're both very sweet. However when it's clear that your customer is absolutely not satisfied with the product I would really expect a business owner to be more considerate of their customers expectations and satisfaction. So, my issues.. Short form- is it took them 7 hrs to give me a cake I had pre-ordered. And, after waiting that 7 hrs, it still looked nothing like what I had requested. After saying they'd discuss a discount with me later I've still yet to receive a call back!! The long story: 1. I get to the bakery a bit late, thinking surely they'll have the order done but unfortunately it's not. 2. But I oh find this out After waiting 10 minutes for someone to come out from the back and explain that my cake is not done because they had put in another"rush" order ahead of mine that morning. (Thanks a lot) Delaying My pre ordered cake from being done. 3. So, without an option, my friend and I agree to wait while they "finish up" 4. An hour later... (To which they said it'd only be maybe 30min) The cake comes out and I'm devastated. It looks nothing like the picture I submitted (that I was told "wouldn't be a problem" 5. Being we were already late, we paid for the cake and left the store. After 5 min of looking at the 'chevrons' on top i can't live with it so I call, apologize but ask them to redo the top layer (they agree) 6. I bring it in only to be informed that since they have a cake due at 3, that they'll have to put off my 'fixer upper' now, until after that cake is done (really?!) begrudgingly, we agree and run errands in Roswell (we live 1.5hrs from their bakery) 7. So it's 1ish when we left the cake to be fixed. After 3.. 3 hours of waiting, we call to check in, thinking they've had an hour to work on our cake now and should be done soon. Nope. 8. They need until 5:30... So we pull in at 5:30, they're still not done with the cake... Mind you that All we asked to fix was the top cake layer (two chevron stripes!!) but we've waited now for 6 hours from the 11:00 time that we got to the store. (Enough time now to have completely redone the cake!) 9. Cake comes out at 6pm and it still looks awful but better than it did. 10. At this point it's almost 5:45 and I ask her to redo the sign on the front of the cake.. The first time it came out it looked just awful (unfortunately I can't attach a pic right now)) but it was nothing like what I had asked for as it was a white square with hand written purple (not even good) cursive letters and squiggles around the border. 11. So she agrees to redo the sign and at 6:30 she says 'oh well I found the letter punch outs so we were using those now, it'll only be another 5 min'. ---WHY were these not used the first time?!? 12.Again, another 30min later and it comes out looking about as sad as can be bc of all the changes and ask for a discount based on 1. Time (the 7 hours we waited for the cake to be redone) and 2. For r looking Nothing like what I ordered. 13. Jenny tells me she doesn't have the 'authority' to give credits, etc. understanding, I agree to call back but as I walk out I run into the owner, who I also told of my issues, and requested to discuss a significant discount to which he puts me off until That next Tuesday. 14. Again, begrudgingly I agree but alas - I have had one phone call back which was missed, but now I can't get ahold of anyone.. 2 weeks later. I've called everyday to the store and NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. I don't understand how they're taking orders when they don't pick up the phone? Anyways, I'm heart broken the cake turned out the way it did and was really trying to be very nice and professional about the situation. But now, with no contact back and being stuck having paid $150 for a cake I waited 7 hrs for it not to look at all like what I ordered... I just couldn't be more aghast at their unprofessionalism.. I really trusted them to do the right thing. There may be some unknown circumstance, in which case I can understand that but to not reach out to me or be screening my calls.. I just can't help but be so upset with both the owners. -Valarie Garrin

We ordered a first birthday cake for our daughter. The cake was not completed correctly and the shop was unwilling to correct the topper to make things right. We accepted the cake but the owner did not apologize. They did discount the cake but the attitude was poor and unnecessary. When we began cutting the cake the bottom tier began to collapse and was held up with seemed like 50 pegs. To add to our miserable experience one of the two tiers did not taste good as all. Definitely dissapointed.

Run!!! The original owners were amazing and they won all the awards. The new owners are disgracing their reputation. The cake we ordered was far from what they promised and delivered. Not to mention, the top tier was slanted. We were very disappointed. This is not a professional business any longer.

Needed a cake for a friends Shabbat dinner. Not only was it beautiful but it tasted so good. Thank you Jenny for all of your help. Everyone loved it!

The family that runs this shop are all so nice. A local cake chain that I considered would not customize their cake at all, so I went to The Cake Shoppe instead. They made a beautiful and delicious custom cake for my mom's birthday. So glad that I did! I highly recommend them!

Ordered a cake for my son's birthday and we couldn't have been more dissapointed. We have ordered cakes from here for many years. Not sure what has changed at this bakery. We called the owner and he was very rude to us when we tried to explain why we were dissapointed.

Please leave this bakery for last. If you really want them to bake your wedding cake, please make sure to get your order in writing. We trusted this nice couple and nothing turned out as they had promised. The cake was very late, 2 1/2 hours late. It did not look like what my daughter had requested and it was tilted to the side. This was really sad since my daughter had brought pictures of what she wanted and had asked Jeannie more than once if she would be able to match her request. The cake was very dry and the frosting tasted like rubber. The cost was not cheap. Anyway, the wedding turned out very beautiful but the cake was a big disappointment. I know that things can happen but we did not even get a reasonable explanation from them.

So sad to see this place fall apart. Poor quality and over priced! Cake was awful! Late with no apology or explanation offered, wrong color, wrong filling, received damaged and tilted. Icing tasted like strong chemical dyes. Specific detailed requests ignored/omitted. Owners do not care, no response. Highly disappointed, would NOT recommend!

My son ordered a birthday cake for my 3 year old grandson. It was nothing like what we were expecting.Nothing like the drawing my son gave them. It was't ready when I went to pick it up. I had to wait 45minutes. No apology from the owner. We ordered the cake two weeks ahead of time so it should have been ready on time. It also was the worst tasting cake ever. The icing layers for way overdone. And it had greasy taste. So disappointing for $200.00. Ugly cake and taste bad too. Never go there . I'll go back to "Cakes by Darcy" down the street . They are always excellent.

BEST BAKERY IN GEORGIA!!! They made our daughter's wedding cake: beautiful, delicious, PERFECT! The thought of cutting such a work of art made me cringe, but after the first bite, it was worth it! Craig made sure the cake was set and displayed properly at the reception, and gave staff detailed instructions how to serve it. Jeannie and Craig are the greatest business owners I have EVER had the pleasure of working with. To say they go the extra mile is putting it mildly: They are not satisfied unless you are 1000% happy. It just doesn't get any better than the Cake Shoppe!!!

I had the pleasure of stopping in here this afternoon and meeting Craig and Jeannie, the owners. This bakery is immaculate, clean, fresh and inviting; the owners are very nice and I could tell right away they are just plain down to earth good and honest people! (A rare find these days.) They had on display a large selection of items, all of which looked so delicious it was hard to make a decision. I was fortunate enough to get a german pastry bar that was absolutely fantastic. I was instantly taken back to 1980's Germany to my mother-in-law's kitchen and the wonderful baked goods she would make for us. I never thought I would ever find anything even close to what she made again, until this afternoon! Wow! If you are in the area, stop in! If you aren't in the area, make an effort to be and stop in, you won't regret it! You'll wish you found them sooner! After speaking with Craig for quite a while, I've learned that they make everything by hand, in house, fresh. No batters or pre-made mixes or short cuts. This place is the real deal folks, superior quality, and it shows! You know it's better than good when high end hotels use them exclusively! This is a yelp that I've been happy to write, and I hope you take my advice and stop in and say hello, buy a snack, and then buy a cake; you'll be glad you did! Enjoy!

I've ordered 2 cakes previously from this location, as well as enjoying their lemon bars on occasion. They are always very quick and the results are wonderful. The staff seem to be very knowledgeable and are always able to answer any questions I bring to them. The entrance area is very clean and pretty. I enjoy looking at the various items they have on display fresh daily.

Delicious cake!!! Awesome. We've bought many cakes from here over the years for birthday's and special occasions. All of them have been fantastic. I would highly recommend the Cake Shoppe to anybody. They also make German Chocolate, Wedding and Black Forest cakes!!!

We bought a birthday cake for a 40th anniversary and it was the most delicious cake We've had in years. The quality was outstanding; fresh and moist. It didn't last long; all guests were delighted with the flavors. We highly recommend it.
