I joined YELP just so I could write this review. Went here on a groupon and everything we ordered was awesome. I ordered the stuffed mushroom app and I was enjoying so much my husband let me eat the whole thing! For the entrée I had Salmon with Beet Risotto and Asparagus - let me tell you this plate was as good as anything you would get at a totally upscale restaurant for half the price! Wish it was closer to midtown where I live, but a quick drive for a sure bet.

Visited once and had great food. When we got the bill, the price of my wife's entree was different than was printed in her menu. When we pointed this out to the owner he brought over a menu to show the amount charged was what was in the menu. The only problem was that my wife's menu stated that the price was $3.00 less. The owner stated that this was not true. He then brought over every menu in the restaurant and dumped them on the table and told us if we find that price we would get it for free. We found my wife's menu that had the lower price on it. He was then rude as hell and gave us her meal for free. For my meal I got the special and specifically asked how much it was before i ordered it. I was told. $17.00. This was reasonable for that dish and I ordered it. When the bill came my entree was listed as $23.00. When I pointed this out to the waiter he apologized and said since he quoted me $17.00 he would charge me that. The owner got irate and told the waiter he was taking that out of his pay. This owner has a serious problem with customer service. For a couple of dollars we will never set foot in there again. We also go out of our way to make sure everyone we know hears this story so they will not eat here.

Just finished eating there and food and service were.both excellent. I had the ravioli portabella, which i wanted to lick my plate bc the sauce was so good. My husband had the ziti and it was also very good and both very fresh. Bread was warm and fresh. Will Absolutely return!!

We had some of the specials as the waiter recommended. The appetizer meatballs were cool inside and came with a weird cranberry/sweet sauce-horrible. The special soup was an inedible egg drop with spinach that was horrible. The seafood dish was pretty tasteless and the other dish we had was swimming in oil. The kids pizza tasted like week old pizza microwaved, and the other kids meal was spaghetti with butter (it came out with unmelted chunks of butter on the top). The service was VERY slow. We used a Groupon, but if we had not had the Groupon would have been mortified with our $80+ awful meal. We have ordered take-out pizza from here before, and it was very good, so not sure what is going on with this restaurant. If you go, I would recommend sticking to the basics - pizza/calzones and easy traditional pasta dishes. Based on our meal tonight, very worried for this restaurant's existence unless they turn their act around......

We were a party of 16. It could not have been a better experience. The food was tasty and the owner treated us to some house specialties. Good food a good service. Outdoor seating was great. Try it.

This place is terrible. Poor precooked chicken. Undercooked pasta. and sauce from a bad jar. Oh, and don't forget to request bread (you must ask). It will arrive as stale as a baseball bat. Way to many aother choices to spend your money.

Today was my second time trying out Bella Italia. The first time I went, I went early Saturday for lunch, and was immediately greeted by what I am assuming is the owner. I was sat down and my drink order was taken and a basket of fresh bread was brought out with a yummy side dish of oil and chili powder mix. I opted for one of the specials, the Taste of Italy, which consisted of lasagna, alfredo spaghetti and chicken Parmesan. It took a little bit of time for my food to come out, but it was well worth it! I couldn't believe how much food I was getting for my money. The lasagna was to die for. The owner told me it was the chef's grandmother's recipe, from Naples. The alfreado spaghetti was delicious. The chicken parmesan was tasty, but a little dried out, but overall, very nice! I couldn't believe the check when I received it. So much food and I couldn't even finish it, and the price for the entire meal was much less than a single entree at another well-known chain Italian restaurant. I went again today for Sunday brunch with a few of my friends. There were 9 of us total, all staggering in at different times. I had called ahead and made a reservation, and the table was all set up and ready to go. Drink orders were promptly taken, and the bread was placed on the table. I think a few of my friends were a little frustrated that it took so long to place our food orders, but with people constantly coming in to join us, I wanted to make sure we all ordered at the same time, so I kept putting the server off until everyone was there and had a chance to look at the menu. The food does take a while to come out, but when it does, it is well worth the wait! Everyone had something different, and the only complaint was about the lasagna, which someone had ordered, not realizing it was not the typical Americanized version. I personally love the lasagna and it will probably become my go-to order at Bella's. I had the special, the butternut squash ravioli in a sauce (I can't remember what kind, sorry). The ravioli was delicious, but the sauce was outstanding! Unfortunately, compared to everyone else's portions, my was pretty small. Overall: The decor is nice, nothing fancy, but unique and quite pleasant. The light fixtures are the best part. The outdoor patio was lovely, but with the chance of rain, we didn't want to risk sitting outside. Maybe next time. The food is delicious, the portions are generally great, and the service is pleasant. Everyone in our party enjoyed it, and we made plans to go back on a Wednesday night for half-price bottle of wine and music night. Seeing as I live practically across the street from this restaurant, I will be there a lot. BTW, The prices for lunch and brunch are OUTSTANDING! The prices for dinner vary greatly, and can be pricey, or can be cheap, depending on what you get.

This is my second (and last) time eating at this restaurant. Looking for a family friendly Italian restaurant with decent tasting food, and that is what it is, so that is why it gets 2 stars and not 0. We arrived at 5:30pm for dinner and ordered their "early bird special". The main meal came out, and it was 1 piece of chicken and 3-4 bites of spaghetti. My husband's portion was the same "laughable" size portion. It was so small that we both had to order our own dessert. We are not big eaters. Maybe instead of early bird special, they should label it, "adults can order a kid's meal and pay $9-$12". It is a scam to offer a special and charge a little less to give less. Had I known, I would have ordered something different off the regular menu. They lost my business. There are lots of other restaurants in the area with better business practices. As a frequent restaurant diner, I am taking my business elsewhere.

** - Make sure you read the "filtered" reviews as they are all 5 star! Why travel to Italy when you can catch great hearty Italian fare right here in Marietta. I've been coming here since the place opened...it's a family run restaurant with 2 native italian chefs in the kitchen. I used to eat lunch here almost everyday as my travels take me up and down 120/Roswell Road. Their sandwiches are a great value at about $8 and stock full with fresh, genuine Italian...straight off the boat meats...and peppers. Great stuff served on fresh homemade bread. If you seek a high-end culinary experience...this isn't it...so head to Buckhead and pay $60 for dinner. This place is all about family....from the owners who will great you by name once they get to know you.....to the kid-friendly playhouse in the back left corner of the restaurant....to the wallet friendly prices...to the great food. This one is a neighborhood favorite. I've eaten here a bunch of times with my two small kids and they loved the place. I regularly send friends & clients here...and they love the place, rave about the food....and the great prices. Online reviews are tough....as some of these reviews confirm. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but some of the negative clowns need to get a grip & a life. In my years coming here, I only had one complain on a dish that just wasn't right...the waitress placed the wrong order for my ex...I ended up eating the 2nd dinner and she ordered something else. They took the cost of the meal off my bill...but I paid for it anyway. That's the only complaint I've ever had with Bella. The pizzas are all awesome....fresh ingredients, good crust....all first rate. The sauce is first-rate and homemade....despite the comments from another reviewer. Pasta dishes are also first rate and check out their evening special. This an excellent date night spot that won't break the bank. Wine and beer is well priced and pitchers are cheap. It does get busy on Friday & Saturday nights...but there is more parking in the Kroger lot next door. The restaurant business is brutal....these folks have continued to turn out solid, great tasting food time after time. Give them a try....and if you don't like it, HandyANDY will give you a dollar for dollar credit on repair work at your home. These guys are so good, I'll put my money where my mouth is! If you're disappointed in any way just let the owners know and I'll still give you a credit towards work on your home. Way to go Bella.....I had you for lunch yesterday....and might do it again today!

I've tried Bella a few times, wanting it to be my favorite Italian neighborhood regular place, since it's walking distance for me. But it's just not, sadly. Baked Ziti is ok. I tried lasagna, and the noodles were overcooked, and the lasagna was fairly tasteless. Last visit, I tried pizza, but it was so greasy, both my date and I were sopping up grease with napkins before we'd eat it. So, with mild angst, I have to give Bella only 2 stars. I've had worse, but I've most definitely had better and I'm done giving them more chances.

It was a Sunday afternoon. We were hungry, but did not have a whole lot of time. We came to the intersection of Roswell Road and Coleman Ridge. I looked across the intersection and there it was "Bella Italia", the place I have wanted to try this place out for a year. I actually stopped by on a Monday to try it out about 6 months ago, but they are closed on Mondays. My family and I walked in and stood in the waiting area, no lie, for about 5 minutes. This would have been fine had the restaurant been busy. Someone was setting up for a party down the left side of the restaurant and let us know that is what she was doing as we were getting ready to walk out. We waited one more minute and then the owner or host came and seated us. Finally, sitting down. The waiter gets our drinks out quickly. We opt to look at the menu a minute and the guy does not come back. We were not rude to anyone, but were thinking we did not like our visit thus far. We were like, the food is going to be really good and make up for everything. I liked the selection on the menu. They offered a lot of good stuff, homemade cheese revioli, baked ziti, "make your own past a dish", etc.... they didn't have tomato and mozarella for an appetizer which I love. Great salad selection though. We ordered. Got our food. It was good. It wasn't great, but it was good. I expect so much more from a "mom and pop" Italian restaurant. The sauce for one needs to be outstanding because it will be served with 75% of the dishes on the menu. The meatballs need to not be charred on the outside and then covered in sauce to hide that. We waited forever for the check. I don't know what was going on, but we didn't feel like we got much service from our waiter. I still tipped 15% because I used to be a waiter and some days you just have bad days, but the place was empty, so I don't know. As a general rule I always leave 15% no matter what unless you spit in my food and I see it. lol. If I feel our service was great I leave 20% and work down from there. I truly hope that Bella gets better service. The food was average. I don't like to give average reviews, but we really felt no love from this place either through the food or service. I can't say I will be back or tell anyone to go. Still, maybe they were having an off day. Go try it, you gotta find out for yourself.

It amazes me how restaurants give small portions in things like pasta and rice. I had been told to try out Bella and we decided to do so. We ordered the chicken Parm and fettuccini Alfredo to go. When we got home we opened our bag to find a light string of fettuccine and one chicken cutlet for each order. I guess when you come from NY/NJ and occasionally eat Maggiano's you get spoiled. So when you see a layer of pasta that doesn't fill the bottoms of the container - the disappointment is huge. Every dish was $16.00 so between a 20% tip and the meal we dropped $75.00 (for take out!) However we got two large breads. So if your into bread this might be your place. Maggiano's I will drive the extra 8 miles next time. If you want to call yourself a good Italian restaurant don't get cheap on the pasta- load it up. Overall the flavor was good enough so I gave it three stars.

    (3)
  • Mary F.

They have some amazing meals and some maybe more size than amazing. I think is trying to fit in an American expectation setting. Like a meal at Maggianos where one plate feeds 3 people. Their mussels are great. Their pasta with seafood is good if you ask them to go low on the butter/oil so you can truly taste the juice over the pasta. Summer pizza is a hit! Everyone loves it and is perfect for a nice summer evening over wine or sangria outside. Nice restaurant. I only ask them to be more Italian and less AMERICAN on their food servings and flavors.

  • Kendall B.

First and foremost the service was sensational. David was attentive but not overbearing and I have no complaints as far as he was concerned. However, my dog eats better than the food I was served at this establishment. I don't trust calamari that's served without tentacles, and chewy And dry are kind words I could use to describe this appetizer. The chicken Marsala was, TV dinner quality chicken, served over unsalted pasta, the mushrooms were ok. The "Bella tortellini" was store bought at best but the chicken... So overcooked, that it was inedible. Overall I hope this server finds a better restaurant to work at because his skills and table reading skills far surpass the "food" that Bella Italia sees fit to serve paying customers. Thank goodness for groupon. Will not make the mistake of dining otp ever again.

We have eaten here many times and have ordered out quite a bit for the last 4 years. We put up with the owner because it was good food. They quality of the food has declined and is inconsistentat. I think they must have lost a really good chef. The owner's mood/customer service isn't always the best. He can get really snarky for no reason, even when we just pick up our take out. Time to find a new place close to home.

    (1)
  • Aaron N.

The lunch chicken parmesan with fra diavolo sauce is so delicious, a hidden gem on the menu. It is a little bit spicier than the regular sauce but the spice helps keep it from being a bland run-of-the-mill dish. The chicken itself was still juicy too.

Just had dinner on a Saturday night. 5 people in our group. Place not that crowded and for a Saturday night in Roswell that is not a good sign. Needed to eat quick so appreciated the accommodation none the less. Waiter was nice guy. Drinks came fast. And salads came right after. Got the fried mozzarella but everyone thought it tasted "fishy" so some people thought that was a turn off. They must have used the same fryer for the mozarella that they use for the other appetizers. Not good. Then the wait began for our entrees. We waited. And waited. And waited. 45 minutes must have gone by. We were just about ready to walk out when the food came. By then we were all so angry we lost our appetite. Food was so-so. Prices are a little steep for the quality you get in return. We all agreed we will not be coming back.

This is my 'second home'. Whenever Im craving for honest, comfort and simple well prepared food, I come to Bella Italia. Foodies will not be impressed, but the regular folks- like me- are sure to be pleased. Its the typical neighborhood restaurant, where the owner greets you as a friend and the staff know your kids by the name. Fair price, great food, cozy environment. What is not to love?

We used to frequent fairly often. Oftentimes ordered pizza. They do not deliver, but we live nearby, so it wasn't a problem. Last time we ordered a pizza, I went to pick it up, and gave them my name...had to wait about 10 minutes, which was ok, and they then called my name and gave me the pizza. As I walked in the door, the phone was ringing and it was Bella Italia telling me that they had given me the wrong pizza. I told them that they could bring the correct pizza to my home (one mile away) and I would gladly exchange. They reminded me that they don't deliver, even after I asked if there wasn't 1 person in the restaurant who had a car and could drive? They insisted that they did not deliver. I got back in my car and drove back to the restaurant with the pizza...I expected an apology and a comped pizza...instead I was given my correct order, and then told that I owed them $2 as mine was more expensive than the one they had given me...I looked at the owner and replied, "you are kidding, right?" He was serious...I threw $2 on the floor and exchanged the pizzas and shouted that they had just lost a customer...I Will Never Ever Go Back!

Pizza was good, it's the only thing I order there. We've had two waiters over the course of our dining's and Ryan is the only good waiter, the other man with shaggy retro/70's hair is inattentive and dismissive. Once we arrived to be told there were no tables, we sat at the bar waiting for a table to open. A table opened, new customers came in, hostess (older woman) seated them in the newly open table. When I asked her about our table she looked 'caught' and told me another one was opening up soon. We waited almost 20 minutes at the bar because she ignored us. Ryan was working the bar and made the wait easier. Great guy. Biggest complaint, their beer taps are almost always empty. Seriously, EMPTY.

We went here randomly because Italian is our favorite. This place doesn't have the reviews it deserves. The service is super friendly and fast. The food is fresh and so delicious. They bake their bread daily and the sauces are fresh, you can tell in every dish. I recently bought their Groupon because it was such a great deal. We love Bella Italia and will be back, a lot!!!

This was my first time here. We were greeted by the owner and seated. Great customer service. He was great with 4 10 year Olds. We all loved our food. He accommodated their request for fettuccine Alfredo & added chicken. I had the house lasagna and it was the best I've had in a long time. The Tirimusu was so delicious. I will definitely go back. Also if you have small children there is a play area for them.

The appetizers were to die for! We had mussels in a spicy marinara sauce with some fresh bread and a wonderful flat bread. The portions were very large, I had the chicken Parmesan and I had to bring most of it home because it was so filling. The service was exceptional and they even had a little play area for the kids so parents could enjoy their dinner. I Highly recommend this place!

Nice menu. Have been several times. Appetizers are good. Fresh salads with great balsamic dressing for the Garden Salad. The marinara sauce was OK. Seemed to be lacking that punch of flavor. Meatballs are very good. Great for families...kids menu. Our server was distracted tonight. Had to ask for refills on drinks and other items. The restaurant got busy early and they seemed under staffed.

Great pizza and great service. They also have some toys in the back for the kids which is great for us. Also nice large outdoor patio. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is they vacummed while we were eating and keep extra tp in box on bathroom floor. Just little things but could make a better impression. We also have birthday dinner there and they set up the tables in advance and put out ballons. We have been several times and will be going back!

What a great experience! The manager and waiter were incredibly welcoming, the atmosphere (we sat outside) was fabulous, the food was delicious and plentiful - and all that at shockingly great prices. We were truly surprised, as a lot of places like this can be hit and miss, but this was a wonderful experience. Everything was very fresh, and the bruschetta was awesome and beautifully presented. Everything was actually beautifully presented in its remarkable simplicity (clean and elegant white dishes) and unexpected abundance. Really, if you're looking for a very reasonably priced, totally delicious and delightful meal, check out Bella Italia.

I've come to think that people that like a place, just don't bother to write a review......whereas those who might have had an unfortunate experience are most eager to get their review done. I think that this may be the case with Bella Italia. My wife & I went there for dinner last Thursday night for the first time and had a great experience. It was a beautiful evening, so we sat outside which made the experience even more enjoyable. We tried the house wine and it was actually better than expected. Our first course was an appetizer that we shared. It was large enough to be a full entree and tasted great. It consisted of portobello mushrooms, red peppers, fresh mozzarella and prosciutto. We next had the house salad, also good. For entrees, my wife had veal marsala and I had one of the weekly specials which was mixed seafood in a white wine sauce over linguine. Both entrees were delicious, service was good............and yes, we will be coming back to try the rest of the menu. And the owner seemed real nice..................although we couldn't help but overhear a conversation between him and 2 couples who wanted to use 2 Groupons at one table. Since we were also using a Groupon, we knew that it explicitly states only 1 Groupon per table. Those people just got up and left in a huff. Can't say that I blame the owner for asking that the customer play by the rules!

Have been coming to this place since it opened up a few years ago (this is the third Italian restaurant in this spot since 2001). Sadly, we've seen the quality of our pasta dishes go down hill over the last year. My wife's pasta was so full of fat from uncooked bacon and extra olive oil, she didn't want to take home the leftovers and was sick that night. My puttanesca was unbalanced, nothing but olives and whole anchovies. It seems like they're cutting corners on ingredients, using lower grade stuff than before. They've also gone cheap on the bread...they used to serve garlic knots, the bread is now eh. The salads have changed also. We haven't tried the pizzas; we've been told they're OK.

I will try and keep this short and sweet. DO NOT GO HERE! There were 5 in our party and we went to celebrate my father's 82nd birthday. I called ahead and told them this.as well as made a reservation ( which was not necessary as there were maybe 5 other tables filled.) We were seated promptly (obviously) and it went downhill from there. It took forever to get our food ( which was mediocre at best) and our waiter was a disaster. After we were served our food, we never saw him again until he came to take our plates. He never came over to see how we were doing or ask if we liked our food. He removed our plates, asked if we wanted dessert and when we said no he just put the bill on the table and walked away. Nothing was done for my dad's birthday. Not even a congratulations. or best wishes. I went to the owner afterwards and very nicely explained what had happened. All he said was, " I told your waiter about the birthday.Sorry.I will speak to the waiter later.". This owner DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HIS BUSINESS. He was present the whole time, they weren't busy, he just kept walking around, lookiing lost. If he knew about the birthday, why didn't he follow through and make sure my dad had a memorable birthday. He offered no compensation ( and I did not ask for any). He acted as if it was no big deal that we were treated poorly and they ruined our evening. Whether I pay $10 for a meal or $100 for a meal, I expect good ( I"ll even take decent) service. We got way below that at Bella Italia. This guy better take a long, hard look at his training of waitstaff but most importantly at himself. Here is a man who has lost his passion for his business. In this day and age of public scrutiny, that's a sure fire way of loosing something that obviuosly meant something at one time...but definitely not now. BELLA ITALIA AIN"T BELLA ANY MORE!!!!

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
