This is my first yelp review and I rely on this thing a lot, so it says a lot if I've taken the time to write this. Caribbean Fiesta, why hast thou forsaken me? For about a week, I've had a craving for some oxtails and rice and peas, but didn't have the hankering to slave away at the stove to get them. Living in good ole Norcross, my options are limited and I happened to be closer to this restaurant than the other one, so I decided to stop in. What a huge mistake. Although it was rather early in the day, I should have known that this wouldn't end well - I was the only person in the restaurant, which could use some better lighting (I'll get to the importance of that shortly.) When I walked inside, although my mind was set on oxtails, I got excited when I saw conch fritters on the menu. I asked if they have the conch fritters that they have listed on the menu and she looks at me like I was speaking Swahili and lifts up the pan and shows me some salmon. Yeah. Ok. No. Already feeling a little defeated, I order the oxtails and the unpleasant woman working the line informs me I get two sides. Cool - I decide on the mac and chews and cabbage based on the other reviews I've seen on yelp. She fixes the food and I look and there's literally a to-go container of oxtails, cabbage, and mac and cheese - but where are the rice and peas. This is where I confirm that this was the wrong decision. I say "doesn't it come with rice and peas" and she says no- and clearly this is the confirmation that this was a terrible idea. I would think that if the diner has confusion, they would try and remediate the problem but no. So I pony up another $4 for a side of rice. I was rather ticked off when the broad asked me if I want oxtail gravy on the rice and peas. The entire time this was going on, a heavyset man, who I assume is the manager or owner watched this all go down and said not a single word. I get home and open the container and I'm completely disgusted- essentially I have a meal full of fat and bones - no meat and the gravy looked like salad dressing. Oxtails can be a fatty meat, but you trim some of it and definitely don't serve a 65/35 fat to meat ratio when you're charging $14/plate. And it tasted worse than it looks. The lighting is so poor in the restaurant that you can't see how awful the quality of the food is until you're in a normal-lit place (not even well!) So in the trash goes $18 worth of oxtails. I had to drive somewhere else and get food to get the taste out of my mouth and off of my mind. I'm Jamaican, so I know my Caribbean food and in all my life, I have never been to a Caribbean restaurant where rice and peas are considered a "side"....that alone leads me to question this place. They have sign up mentioning how the price of oxtails went up so they have to pass it on to the customer which is complete bullshhhhhhh. In summary, save your self the headache, your wallet the shock, the possible tummy ache and the tastebud confusion and drive a few miles up the road or to Memorial Drive. Everything in this place is not "Irie"...I've got a good mind to call the credit card company and dispute the charge and tell them that they fooled me with trickery and dark lighting into thinking I would be getting something halfway edible.

We looked up local Caribbean restaurants nearby and decided to try this. Glad we did! I ordered the jerk chicken, white rice and Mac and cheese. The jerk chicken is SPICY!!!! (And boneless which is a huge plus). My bf ordered the jerk pork and it was good also. It was very tender. The portions were very generous. The people there were very friendly. When we visit this area again we will defiantly be coming back here!

Seems I never have the time to write about this place right after I eat there but hopefully this will make up for it. Caribbean Fiesta is close to where I work in Technology Park - I went here for the first time a couple of months ago with some co-workers. It took my second visit for me to realize that this is an off-shoot of a similar restaurant in Alpharetta where's I've eaten a few times - I think I actually like the food at this location better. Having experienced quite a bit of Caribbean foods while working at Indigo, I'd say the flavors here are very well thought out. There are usually several offerings during lunch (I haven't made it for dinner so I'm not sure how different the menu is if at all). During lunch you walk up to the counter and ask what's available - the very friendly people behind the counter uncover hotel pans full of yummy, spicy goodness - there's one gent there who has an island accent (he actually looks Asian to me - think there's a story there). I've now had several dishes and can recommend the jerk chicken kabobs, the Southwestern (Caribbean I presume) and the ginger chicken (sweet and hot). You can choose two sides - I usually get the beans and rice and either a green veg, the mixed stewed veggies, the grilled veggies or if I want some real comfort food, the plantains. Portions are large and everything is well seasoned - I love you face-flush you get when eating the jerk as it can really get the endorphins working. Nothing is so hot it burns your mouth - it's more that back-end burn that creeps up on you as you're eating the food. I try to get something different every time I go but sometimes I ended up ordering the same thing - most recently the jerk kabobs again - I love how the pieces soak up the allspice and green onion - with so much surface area before grilling on the skewer you get an extra punch - there's also a hint of sweetness (think it's the gravy) - make sure you get some of that on your rice too. Prices are very reasonable considering the portions - I usually end up spending about $10-12 with tip driking water. They usually have a lunch special in the $7 range. It's a little hard to find - in a strip mall right on the intersection of Holcomb Bridge and Jimmy Carter - across from a Willy's (I think there used to be a pizza place at the same location that I used to visit - been a while so I don't remember the name).

Food is great...It's not my Mom or Grandma's cooking, but they do a good job to serve the masses. Service is friendly and quick. Prices are on the high side, but the amount of food given is worth it. A dinner platter will serve for a couple meals at least.

I have been going to Caribbean Fiesta sporadically since they opened. However, it seems like the quality has been wildly uneven of late. A previous reviewer mentions the spiciness of the dishes ... sometimes you get a nicely spiced item that tastes great (jerk pork for instance), then you return and order the same item and it tastes like its was doused in red pepper flakes. It was so hot that it was almost inedible and I do enjoy spicy foods. I found myself coughing up mucus due to the intense spiciness of the food. That's not proper cooking. Another recent review mentions the new young staff with a light touch on the servings. I agree. This restaurant used to serve hearty portions with reasonable prices, but lately skimping on servings seems to be the order of the day. I hope Caribbean Fiesta does not continue to disappoint me. Thanks.

I went here a few weeks ago on my way back home. The service was not good at all, not welcoming to the least!!! I stood there looking at the menu for a a while, I had questions as to what certain things were on the menu, and the lady behind the counter acted as if she didn't want to answer me, so the guy who was helping another lady answered me. Also, as I was standing there looking at the menu another customer came in, got in front of me(w/out asking if I had ordered or anything....how rude) and ordered. I was literally in shock. Anyway, needless to say, I left w/out ordering!! Although, I will say that I will try again, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, b/c ppl do have bad days, so hopefullly this was just a bad day for them.

A friend of mine and I tried this place a few weeks ago and were not disappointed. We really didn't know what to expect based on the outside of this place. We were surprised to find out that it was a cafeteria style place. That's ok with me. I got the jerk chicken with cabbage and squash and everything was really good. I was surprised that it wasn't greasy. My friend also go the jerk chicken with beans and rice and squash. We both got a beer and chowed down. The portions are huge so we barely finished half. I would return for sure and try something else. I hear the oxtail is good. The only 2 things I can complain about was the space was a bit out-dated (maybe i'm just being picky). The cashier stayed on the phone the whole time and made it difficult to figure out what we were supposed to be doing. When we tried to offer a tip to the girl behind the counter, he laughed and look at us like we were idiots. I don't think that's what the girl was thinking when she saw him turn her tips away. Like I said, we will still be back, but I found that to be a little strange.

Price is kind of up there especially for lunch... but the portions bring justice! The setup is pretty much like the chinese/japanese food place inside the mall. Go through the line picking an entree and two sides. I've always gotten the jerk chicken. Has a unique spice and good portions. Their side dishes are great (seems like most of the yelpers agree with me on this)! The furniture and setting is tacky, but they have some Caribbean decor and music to at least work out the vibe in the place.

Im new to town and got turned around last week and happened to turn into the parking lot where Caribbean Fiesta was. I was hungry along with being lost so I went in, kinda leary because of the decor but still hopeful and hungry. I ordered stewed chicken and some other sides, they piled my plate full! so if you are looking for portions this is the place! So since I had a ways to drive I thought I would have to nuke my food when I got back to my hotel not at all the food was still piping hot and ready for me after reaching my destination! I will be back.

Ox-tail, and more ox-tail..........the luscious oxtail.............the variety at this Caribbean buffet is astounding but the oxtail takes the prize, it is so savoury and the meat literally falls off the bone. I always order a portion with every meal. I have tried the jerk tilapia, jerk chicken, the jerk pork and a few others.............nice..........the sides are always fresh........carrots, cabbage, rice and peas (beans) and of course the fried plantains. I keep going back just to daydream about the Caribbean since I can't afford to fly to my fav Caribbean restaurant in St. Thomas for lunch (At least not yet) ......this will have to suffice. With a little bit of Soca filtering through the speakers, I reminisce on my island trips...........what ever you do always get a piece of coco bread..........you need it to scoop that savoury sauce.................a delight

Real quick review....great selection and fresh food. They had a variety of meats in different sauces and spices. Not cheap though but worth the visit if you are in the area....

I had been here a few times, pre-yelping, generally liked it, and like it better now that I'm not a strict vegetarian and open to having jerk chicken or other dishes. I guess I was unduly influenced by other reviews that I read here, otherwise I might've even given them 5 stars. Everything was great! But 4 stars anyway. No complaints about the portions, though my colleague said the same as what others have said, that portions here aren't what they used to be. I thought the flavors were great, and the ambience seemed genuine, which always counts for high marks in my book. E.g., the proprietor had a good island accent, and the Caribbean music accompanied us as we ate. Well, CNN was playing on the tube, but generally it seemed authentic. Maybe the price was a little high for lunch, but I didn't think it was too bad, given the tasty food and the portions. Just to note, I had the salmon cakes today, with sides of cabbage and plaintains. My buddy got the stuffed chicken, looked pretty hearty, maybe a little too cheesy for my taste.

Since the prices have went up I haven't been going as much. They have new employees, a few young girls and are the skimpy with the food. An oxtail meal is 10.99, I think. You get two sides and the new employees don't give you much food at all for 10.99. I got rice and peas and broccoli and they gave me one sccop of rice and 4 florets of broccoli and a bunch of oxtail bones. I was so disappointed I havent been back since. They give you alot of jerk chicken though and the beef patties are good. Do not get the chicken patties because they taste NASTY! The food is good if you are craving it, but they should work on their portions.

I love curry chicken so i decide to stop here. The curry had a very GRITTY TASTE TO IT...I PICKED THROUGH IT AND ATE WHAT I COULD. I should have tried the JERK KABOBS heard they are tasty... If i return then thats what im going for.

I have been here several times now and love the variety of dishes ... I have tried something new every visit and have enjoyed everything.. My favorite so far is the Hurricane chicken with plantain , rice and beans .Ample portions and very easy to get in and out on a short lunch break.

oxtail, cabbage, and plantains! My fave cheat meal! throw in a spicy ginger beer and I am in heaven! great place, always clean, and staff is friendly too!

It was okay. The portions were nice. The food was mediocre, but edible. Originally, I had the boneless jerk chicken, plantain, rice and peas. Initially, it wasn't very good to me. I felt like it was missing something...some kind of flavor...spice...it was missing that extra kick! The I didn't like the rice and peas at all. The plantains were so clutch (awesome) though! Since I wasn't really pleased with my choice, I decided to order the coco bread to just create a sandwich with the rest of the chicken. I had the leftovers the next day, and strangely it was much better then. Like the seasoning needed to settle in.

I find it hard to give a place like this more than three stars, but I really do like the food here. The mac n cheese isn't very good, but I usually get the jerk chicken with rice and beans and cabbage and it's all quite good. The jerk chicken is boneless which I prefer but not everywhere does it this way. The portions are large but I can always finish my plate. There is never a line and plenty of room to sit. Just around the corner is another Caribbean food place very similar to Caribbean Fiesta, but I like this one better.

I truly had high hopes for this place. I also truly wanted to like this place. I have eaten here today for lunch and the taste of the food is mediocre at best. However, the food quality is absolutely very poor, in my own opinion. The food here has given me really terrible stomach problems and has gotten me sick. I will not be nor do I recommend this place at all. My first, only, and final visit to this place. CAUTION: Eat here at your own risk!

My friend was so sickened from takeout jerk chicken and rice beans and cabbage that she went to the ER last night. I am urging her to report them to the health dept. Yelp says this is too short. What else is there to say.

This is my spot for takeout to when I want a good meal and I don't feel like cooking when I'm on my way home from work. The portions are plentiful to the fact that you will have leftovers for the next day. I usually get the stewed chicken or coconut chicken with rice and peas. Also I love their veggies. They usually have a variety of veggies, such as cabbage, eggplant. squash, ect. All of their veggies are fresh and not frozen, which is a plus in my book. It's not All Island Cafe in Stone Mountain, but Caribbean Fiesta is a great substitute for good Caribbean food.

The decor of this place is very tacky, but the tropics vacation music is great. Coming here to eat lunch on a Friday (I work close by) really sets the mood for the weekend. You can get sandwiches, but I usually go for the meat and two sides. My favorite has been the oxtail stew, but since they raised the price of all items last year (already not cheap to begin with, and oxtail already costs more than the rest), it's just a little too much for a self-served lunch. I also like the jerk pork (wish they put more onions in there like the Cubans do). I find the sauce for the shrimp too spicy, and consequently also didn't like other items they use this sauce on. The portions including the two sides are very big. I like the cabbage and the mac and cheese. If getting something very saucy then I prefer to get one side of rice to soak up the sauce. Plantains are just okay. The plate lunch really fills me up and is very delicious, but like I said for a self serving lunch it's hard to warm up to spending over $10 before drink.

This place is Ok. It's a huge restaurant inside with fake plants that give off a cheesy "island" vibe coupled with the same damn reggae song they play over and over again, if that doesn't get you to leave stick around and try their food. Then again maybe they were channeling "fiesta" vibes. The type of setup they have is ordering at the counter. The price of meals range from 8 to 12 bucks. Do not pay attention to the $5.99 special they have on the window they don't honor it. They offer traditional carribean dishes suck as jerk, curry, conch fritters and roti. I tried their jerk chicken and oxtail both were Ok very greasy and the rice and peas were underwhelming. Wanted a conch fritter but they were out, wanted a chicken patty they were out of that as well. It's just an Ok restaurant I have had better carribean in Atlanta

I've been here twice. The first time I had the brown stewed chicken with peas/rice and cabbage. Nice portions for the money! The food was good but I've had much tastier BSC. Went yesterday cuz I had a hankering for a few beef patties! In one word...Disgusting!!! It looked like they had been sitting under a heating lamp for hours..the beef inside looked and tasted like I imagine Alpo would taste like and the pastry part was thick, greasy and gross! If you're in a crunch and have to have some Jamaican food, this place will do. However, I won't waste any more of my hard earned money here. Time to find a real Jamaican joint!!!

The food here is mediocre. Don't get me wrong..it was edible but it was never lip smackin, finger lickin, fall off the bone good. To me it was good on those days when you're too lazy to cook and want something quick to pick up. Portion sizes were always generous but nothing to write home about.

I have been here several times now and love the variety of dishes ... I have tried something new every visit and have enjoyed everything.. My favorite so far is the Hurricane chicken with plantain , rice and beans .Ample portions and very easy to get in and out on a short lunch break.
