If you're from the northeast, this is a fab taste of home. If not, you're in for a treat, so stop in. Bread baked in house twice a day. Creamy, delicate, perfect cheesecake. Every detail of every menu item is absolutely top notch, and clearly something owner Johnny P (and delightful staff) takes pride in. For the reviewer who complained about the price, I think that's just off base. There is no comparison between a sub at Hoboken and the $5 combo at a fast food chain. This is real, fresh, top quality, hand prepared food, made and served with care and attention by people who know what they're doing, live right nearby, and are very happy to see you. This is a terrific addition to the neighborhood, and is exactly the kind of place we've been hoping for for a long time! Absolutely delicious food.

A gem in Marietta Georgia. If you didn't know better, you might drive right past this excellent eating establishment. Food was outstanding. I had the sausage, peppers, and onions and thought I was back in New Jersey. My son had chicken parm and said it was the best he has had EVER. You need to put this place on your radar and stop on in. Great ambience and delightful owner who has some great stories to tell. Check out the celeb wall of pictures....wow.

The staff was very friendly. The food was fresh with good flavor, and service was quick. My Hoboken salad was attractively presented. The olives were firm and tasty. The mozzarella was almost chewy, and the greens were finely diced so it wasn't messy to eat. Portion size was just right!

We went for our first time today. Great, fresh food! Mozzarella made fresh in house daily. Such friendly people!

I am a serious cheese eater. Like for reals. Like, my kind of fun night is melting cheese on stuff, I once got stopped at customs bc of the smell of the cheese from Switzerland in my carryon kind of Cheese eater. This place is legitimately fantastic. Diamond in the rough. They make the mozz fresh each day and it is like tasting HEAVEN. I seriously almost cried. Had the caprese salad and my mom had the chicken parm sandwhich. And then the owner sent us over complimentary house made cannoli for dessert. Loved every bite and every second. Def going back.

Hoboken Cafe was delicious! I had the Caprese Sandwich which was amazing! Their fresh mozzarella was the bomb! The only thing I would change is I would have also offered the sandwich I got warm. I mean who doesn't like warm and melty fresh mozzarella?! Am I right?! I will definately be going back again!

As a vegetarian married to a meatatarian from New York City, it's incredibly hard to find a place we both thoroughly enjoy eating. However, we both LOVE this place! The owner is aways super friendly, and the food is fabulous every single time. This is as close to home as my husband can find in a deli. They make cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, salads, soup and cheesecake. I always get the Veggie Caprese sandwich, their olive oil and mozzarella is some of the best I've ever had. They are now open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays until 7:00pm.

Awesome eatery! Classic that should NOT be passed up! We ate the Chicken Parm and Sausage/peppers. Both were stellar in taste and came out in baskets to let the dish be the star. The bread is firm to hold in all the goodness.

Upon entering the establishment, I was greeted warmly by the staff members there and a pleasant ambiance of a quaint yet inviting atmosphere. This place seems just perfect for a lackadaisical mood one might have on a Sunday morning. Jazz music greeted my ears with a complimenting note that went well with the delicious food that I ordered moments later. The price I can't say is what I expected for my hot dog, but everything from the bun to the taste of the meat to the freshness of the onions and peppers on my dog made it worth it in my personal opinion, unmatched by anything I have ever tried!! The coffee that I ordered was very tasty and I am willing to bet isn't ''typical'' or that you might come by regularly in restaurants around here. A silent TV accommodates a cozy lounge near the front door with bright walls bearing pictures that reflects Hoboken's pride in its community and its company. The only slight concern I might have is hardly worth mentioning but in all fairness to readers, there was some delay in being seen at the front desk for order, though courtesy comes with a smile from the owners. I am quite sure that matters of careful cuisine preparations were being made in the back is all. Overall, I must say this place is a real treat to be at for the family or with a few friends after church or perhaps after a day out event at the Square nearby where you can just relax and talk about the good memories you made in the company of a facility that treat you like family!

I heard good reviews from friends so I went there yesterday and ordered to-go. I had a sandwich with arugula, mozzarella, Italian peppers and salami with oil and vinegar . My wife had the soup special with the Italian greens, garlic, sausage and olive oil. The sandwich I had was exceptionally well balanced, the basalmic was sweet and of high quality. After a few bites I was thinking to my self "Oooh wow ..This is what a good Italian sandwich is SUPPOSED to taste like." As for my wife's soup, she really liked it, and it smelled fantastic with the aroma of fresh herbs, making me wish I had ordered a side of soup too.

Ordered the Prosciutto and Mozarella sandwich and it was amazing. Super high quality ingredients, simple, and well executed. The owner is really cool and down to earth and you can tell that he is a true artisan and proud of his food. Probably not gonna get mozzarella much better than this in this part of the country.

Ok, on 10-16-2014, I finally decided to stop in and give the Hoboken a try. Boy, was I disappointed and let down! Unfortunately this was my first and last time to visit this restaurant. Here's why... Price... I ordered the Sausage parmigiana (a hot sandwich) and a small coke. Price $11.49, that included tax. Initially I thought that's not bad if I have quantity and quality in this sandwich. When I got my sandwich, the bread was cool, the "tomato sauce" was cool and full of onions, the mozzarella wasn't melted and my sausage was warm. Not my definition of "hot sandwich". Not to mention that I hate onions and no where did the sauce say it had onions. If that wasn't bad enough, I had this decent size hoagie roll with the smallest portion of sausage I've ever gotten on a sandwich. I couldn't believe what was just served to me for the price I just paid. I was more than disappointed! The owner had no problem greeting me when I walked in but he never came by to ask how my food was, nor was there a server. So, I said I'll eat what I can, and I'll share my experience with others. Needless to say, after spending $11.49 I left hungry and disappointed. To throw some positive in here and why I rated two stars, the sausage and the mozzarella had really good flavor.

An experience you will fondly remember for the rest of your life. More important than the food, which is perfect, is the pride and the love. Johnny is my Goombah. ask him to play Tony's favorite song for you.

I have drove by this place, since moving here, every day and have never took the time out to stop in. Today I did, and I have never made a better choice. There are so many things to brag about! First off, John. Oh my goodness! If he isn't the definition of warm and inviting, I don't know what is. I was instantly welcomed and felt comfortable as soon as I walked in. Being my first time, John was kind enough to go through the menu items and let me know what would be more of my preference. I ordered the chicken parmigiano. Seriously, the best one I've ever had....ever. The mozzarella, the sauce, all made in house, and all sooooo good. I then had some of their cheesecake, and I can also say it's the best I've ever had. Anywhere. And tie it all up with the fact that John came to my table and bagged up my to-go boxes for me. This gives an A+ and 5 stars on EVERTHING. I will be a repeat customer.

I love it here. The food is so yummy. I feel a bit harsh after my edit to my first review. They have really stepped it up. The hours have become consistent and the subs are GREAT! Yesterday I tried the Hoboken Hotdog and it was very good. To me, the star of that one were the yum peppers and onions but the dog was good quality. I like veggies. I came back today for the chicken parm an wow! What a winner whit that homemade parm. The face lift is nice, I would love some chairs outside but I always get to go anyway. I want so much to get a salad but these sandwiches...oh my! Way to go Johnny and staff!

Hoboken Cafe is a gem in Marietta. The owner Johnny Pizza is an amazing guy. He took the time to speak with me and share a bit of his story despite the constant flow of customers. Most seemed to be regulars as Johnny knew most by name. I had the Chicken Parm and picked up a Hero for one of my coworkers. The bread is a star on its own, true Italian. The "gravy" on the chicken parm was perfectly seasoned, definitely not some out of the can reheat job. The mozzarella is made in-house everyday according to Johnny, but you'll know it as soon as you taste it. All in all I'm thrilled to have found a new place for lunch not far from The Square. Stop in, introduce yourself and get taken care of by some awesome people serving awesome food.

Authentic Italian Hoboken goodness. They make fresh mozzarella in store...I watched them do it. The owners name is Johnny Pizza. Yes...Pizza is his last name...he's a true Italian treasure. The atmosphere is great...awesome music...very clean bathrooms. I highly recommend this place! The food is delicious.

  • John L.

I love this place. Their chicken parm sandwich is the best I ever had. The pasta salad is even wonderful. I'd eat here every day if I could. Only complaint are the hours. I live close by and it would be awesome if this were a dinner option. They close at 4 every day and are closed on Sunday's (which I understand).

  • Robert C.

First off he makes the best fresh mozzarella I have come across in GA. Everything we have had there has been delicious. I really wanted to give 5 stars but they are only open in the afternoon for a few hours and then were closed a couple other times I went by and expected they'd be open.

Best hot dog I've EVER had! My husband had the chicken parm sandwich and as promised by Johnny, neither disappointed! It's rare to find places to eat these days that offer the whole package - perfect food and even better company! We will definitely be back! -Amy and "Kyle with the smile"

Oh how I wish this place was open for dinner!! I've was there last week for the first time and even though it is a 35 minute drive, it was worth the trip. I will return many times and up date this review. I had the Caprese Sandwich and it was soooo tasty. As my friend and I sat at a booth studying the menu on the wall the music we heard brought back childhood memories. She said, she felt like, she was at one of her parents cocktail parties and I felt like I was at a wedding in New Jersey. Cannot wait to go back again.

Delicious homemade mozzarella and friendly, prompt service. Going back very soon to try the meatball parm sub. Open now for dinner until 7:00 on Wed, Thurs, and Fri. I definitely recommend this little gem!

Tried Hoboken Café on a chance after we waited 40 minutes at another place to be ignored. All I can say is WHAT A GREAT PLACE... Awesome food, made fresh daily and it shows. Had the meatball sub lunch special today and it was VERY good. added a slice of cheesecake and it was over the top. John - the owner is probably one of the nicest people I have ever met... warm, friendly and genuine. The restaurant is spotless inside and it's obvious they take great pride in their place. Keep up the great work!

You don't have to be from the northeast to enjoy this place. The food is is very fresh and tasty. I don't know why its so hard to find good sandwiches, but it is. So now that we've found this place, my husband and I plan our Saturday afternoons around making a trip here to get a sandwich. Their sausage & peppers hoagie, and the Hoboken Hero (like a classic Italian sandwich) are my personal faves.

  • Laura A.

I have never eaten anything authentic from actual Hoboken, but this was place was awesome! I had the chicken parm sandwich and cheesecake. The cheesecake may be the best I have ever eaten. Johnny is very friendly and the place is super clean and bright. I'll definitely go back!

Fablous Italian Family owned and operated neighborhood cafe that features the best lunch fare in Marietta. Features include fresh mozzarella cheese and bread both of which are made daily on the spot! Authentic homemade sauce, Italian sausages and peppers with onions, yum! Homemade cheesecake and delicious soups to warm your soul are just a few items on the menu. Generous portions at reasonable prices served with pride by the owner and his family. Fun, friendly, a must for you and your family!

The Tuna & Mozz sub is absolutely amazing! We crave it all the time and WISH, WISH, WISH that they would stay open later at least one day a week (or expand the weekend hours) so we could get it more often and explore more of the menu. The three star rating is because the hours are so limited for this out of the way spot, so it is hard to get there. Please, please your fans and find a way for folks to explore and enjoy your delicious northern treats!!!! I see from the other reviews that we are not alone in this sentiment.... maybe a food truck? farmers market? something else?

My husband was driving down Whitlock Ave., when he noticed a sign with the name Hoboken on it. He immediately called me and said that he's found a restaurant with the name of the city where I was born. He went there that Saturday afternoon. He was pleasantly surprised. Very clean inside, and the aroma of delicious (Italian mostly) food being cooked. He met the owner, who is a very a very nice man, and they chatted about Hoboken, and me, while Frank Sinatra music played in the background. Old Blue Eyes was also born in Hoboken, and in St. Mary's hospital. He looked over the menu, and decided on the sausage parmigiana hero. He opted for the side of macaroni salad (good choice). :) While waiting for his order to be prepared, he looked at all of the photos of Hoboken, then and now. There were also photos of NYC. Hoboken is right across the Hudson River from where Twin Towers once stood. My hub's order came out promptly. He's been back 4 times now. So, it's really good, and fresh. Homemade albacore tuna salad...delish! The macaroni salad has a touch of albacore tuna in it. It reminded me of when I was a teenager, and I made the same salad for my parent's parties. I put diced celery in mine. I like crunch and texture :) They are open until 7pm M-F, Until 3pm on Saturday, and closed on Sunday. Try it, you'll like it....mangia!

This place is so fresh. I waited to review because some places go down hill. This is my 4th time here and the food is fantastic . So fresh and the veggie sandwich and cheesecake is wonderful. I even brought my mom here ( she is picky), she LOVED the tuna.

Thrilled with my first visit, enjoying a scrumptious, fresh meatball & house made mozzarella sub with tomato sauce that's heavenly. Co-owner Johnny is warm and inviting, so I'll be back soon.

Was not that great. Price too high for what you get. $8.00 sandwiches and then you have to pay for side and soda. Cheese was good but sandwich wad very boring. Won't go back.

  • David S.

This is a new restaurant on Whitlock. The guy is from Hoboken hence the name. I had the sausage and pepper sandwich. Sautéed onion and peppers with very good sausage. The bread was outstanding.

  • Mark H.

I don't know what "BeerMe S." is thinking. Boring? The only thing boring is the review! Fresh, authentic Italian bread makes the sandwich. Quality meats and home made mozz & provolone. Italian spices and dressing make this sandwich a beautiful thing. Add the roasted red peppers and you have a symphony of flavors that one misses after traveling in the N.East region. They call them Grinders up there....Cheese grits, butter beans with corn bread & pulled pork sandwiches are a Southern Staple. Hoboken Café brings a little culinary diversity to Cobb County. You get what you pay for. 8 bucks? It's more like 9 then add the peppers and you're clocking in at 11 bucks! A lot? Yes, and glad to pay it!

I had a fresh, crispy salad with ham. The food was prompt and service was excellent. The owner, Johnny Pizza, (no kidding) is very friendly and open. The restaurant is open with a lot of sunlight. No crowded tables and chairs. I'll be back to try the other menus selections.

Stopped by last night on my way home from work because I saw "cheesecake" on the window. I ordered a Caprese Salad (delicious, home made moz cheese), a baguette, and a slice of their cheesecake. Everything was delicious and we will DEF be back.

FINALLY, a hero roll with texture and flavor in GA... and with ample and appropraitely sliced meats ans cheeses!! I'll be back often!

Thank the lord for a little more variety in West Cobb cuisine! These guys do hot sandwiches right... high quality ingredients all prepared with care. The sausage, pepper, and onion sandwich is special. I had it two days in a row! The menu is small, but I see that as a plus... they know what they do well and they do it VERY well. A must try for anyone looking for a great lunch in West Cobb.

I don't know how I've driven past this place so many times. This place is great! The owner is awesome, he's very nice and he knows his food! If you live in the area, you have to give it a shot! I'll be going back to try everything else on the menu!

The real deal. And doesn't matter if you are from NJ or not. This is just solid, solid homemade food. And they are so incredibly friendly. These flavors take me back 20 years. The Sausage, peppers and onions sandwich was outstanding. Will be back to try everything else. Deciding is too hard.

Great fresh mozzarella that's made right there in the kitchen, legit New York sandwiches/heroes, very authentic deli eats. Highly recommended for a quick delicious bite. Also, the owner is usually there and is quite the character, he's great to chat with and very gracious to his guests/customers.

  • Gregg Q.

You can't get more authentic Italian in the state of Georgia! The owner, Johnny Pizza is a Jersey guy with a contagious personality almost as delicious as the fresh made Mozzarella! The sausage is from Jersey and the bread is the winner of a 5 bakery local challenge to duplicate sub rolls from Jersey! This is the best friggin' restaurant that nobody knows about. Get there quick, before the place is 'discovered' and the wait times are long!

  • Richard B.

Being from Staten Island NY its hard to find good subs in GA.well I found it. Came across this place by recommendation of a client. Had the chicken parm. All I can say it was amazing, on point and just like home. This will be my regular meeting lunch spot. The owner Johnny is a famous character. Check out his wall. Legit.

  • Patty M.

Excellent Food and very clean with nice décor. I've been twice and had the tuna sub and the Hoboken Salad - both were delicious! John (the owner) gave me a sample of the Eggplant Parmesan (Friday's special) on my last visit since I had already ordered a salad. It tasted divine, with perfectly seasoned tomato sauce & succulent eggplant and cheese - it was so good that I plan to go back next Friday to have a full order! John is very accommodating as is the rest of his crew. I noticed that there were quite a number of people picking up dinner or the bulk items (cheese, hot dogs, Italian Sausage, etc.) and they all raved about the place. John knows his stuff and this place is a keeper for West Marietta!

  • Howard B.

you've got to try this place. Family run local business with food prepared by a person who knows his menu. My Hoboken Hero was perfect, her vegetarian was great and my son's italian sausage was just begging for a taste. The place is spic and span clean and the photo wall is something that you should look at when you're there. Will be back soon to try other dishes on the menu.

  • Paul B.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and I'm so glad I did. The owner was an extremely nice man and my Tuna w/ "FRESH" Mozzarella sandwich was "UNBELIEVABLE". Also, the owner brought out a couple of bite size pieces of fresh mozzarella that he had just finished making and offered them to everybody in the house. Anyway, if you live in Marietta, near the square, you can't go wrong putting this place on the weekly lunch carousel. Don't be afraid that it's the location where the "Wings, Fish, & Sushi" place used to be. This is not the same place with just a name change. Hoboken Café is awesome!

  • Michael H.

Everything I've had here is exceptional. The sandwiches, the eggplant parm, the salads - all delicious! The owners and staff are all super friendly, and the facility is super clean. I even had them cater my Christmas dinner last year. Huge hit with my guests!

  • Mel S.

Love the food and the service. Always a good meal. Favorites....sausage and peppers, meatball sandwich, egg plant Parmesan, prosciutto and peppers with fresh mozzarella. You have to get your mozzarella from these guys, you will never buy it at the grocery again.

Best sandwiches in Marietta. Only to be out done by the best cheese cake in the South. A must try!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
