I was in Macon on this beautiful sunny day and stopped at this lil mom n pop bbq place called BL Smokers!! I had the most PERFECT bbq chicken! It was moist, tender, amazingly flavorful, with smokey notes and incredibly delcious all the way through! I savored every bite and picked the bones clean! (just make sure u got sum wet wipes handy. lol)! The skin was YUMM too!! I honestly never had bbq like that! I wish BL Smokers was around the corner from me in Atlanta! Oh and I had the green beans as well as the cole slaw! Everything was great! Filled my belly just right! Wasn't too stuffed or still hungry! It was the perfect meal combo! LIFE is TOO SHORT to have a MEAL that isn't SUPER delicious! Everyone should eat here! If there was a list of the top restaurants you should eat at before you die, BL Smokers would definitely be one of them!!! You can't beat their meat!!! Lol! Oh and HATS OFF TO THE CHEF!!! ;)

From Chicago area and I was visiting GA, stopped here because it just looked like a place that would have great BBQ. Simple but very very good......had the poke sandwich and potato salad, add the mild sauce and you won't be sorry.

OK, stopped here again today for what I'm calling the BEST Brisket in Macon until I find otherwise. It was so tender and juicy and smoked for over 10 hours. I know I beat them up on a previous review for the sauce but that was because I like a sweeter sauce on my pork. However the sauce was perfect for the brisket and complimented it very nicely! I know this sounds crazy but the brisket was so good I returned to take a pound home for supper for the family only to find out he had sold out! I'm a little scared to tell everyone how freaking good his brisket is and risk not having any on the next trip but it is sooooo freaking good!!! Again the Brunswick stew and corn on the cob are awesome!!!

When i first came to Georgia I was searching for good bbq ribs and while riding through Macon I spotted this place. From the streets it smelled heavenly, so I stopped in and ordered the ribs. It's carryout but that was fine I was going home anyway. The ribs were just what I wanted and more! I went back a second time (earlier afternoon) and discover they opened at 5pm-10pm only on fri-sat. I haven't had a chance to get back because of the days that they're open but if I ever want bbq ribs on a fri or sat and I'm in Macon I truly know where to go get them.

Spent my first few months in Macon disappointed with the barbecue and ribs options here until I found BL Smokers. All I have had so far are the ribs and brisket- both are so good I haven't wanted to branch out!! The only negative to BLs is that it has limited hours. I beleve it is open Thursday-Sunday. So make sure to call ahead!

Let me start by saying I'm not a big fan of barbecue. Last weekend, however, my wife and I had a craving for bbq sandwiches and after reading the other reviews on Yelp, we decided to try BL Smokers. There is a sign on the wall saying "This is not fast food. Please be patient" or something to that effect, but we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly our food came out. We walked in and walked out literally five minutes later with our food. We opted for the pulled pork sandwiches and brunswick stew. I believe the large pulled pork sandwich was only $3.75, which isn't bad. I should point out though that the large sandwich isn't really large. It's pretty normal. I've included photos to that end. BL Smokers gets four stars from me for two reasons: 1.) The brunswick stew is phenomenal. That saved BL Smokers from three stars. I'm not a big fan of brunswick stew, but theirs is practically an art form. 2.) The sauce on the bbq sandwiches was so scant it was almost unnoticeable. Thank goodness we got the brunswick stew. We poured that on the sandwiches and it improved them significantly. Otherwise, they would have been disappointing without sauce. And really, there was practically NO sauce. The meat is tender and perfectly cooked. If you pick up sandwiches here, however, either ask for extra sauce on the side (I wouldn't trust them to add enough to the sandwich) or be prepared at home with your favorite sauce to top them off. Otherwise, they're fabulous (Can a straight man use the word "fabulous?" Oh well, I'm doing it. It's fitting.) Enjoy!
