Great tacos and pork belly bun. Don't be deterred by the slightly dive like appearance, the food is great and reasonable prices.

Food was amazing and the owners were nice. There's not much seating besides a small bar and some stools. I had the pork tacos with fried rice and it was so good. I'll definitely be back to try the rest.

Great spicy pork burrito and bibimbap with brown rice. Side of kimchi that was the real deal topped it off. Super nice owners. They brought a special little rice/egg dish for our baby.

I've been to most of the restaurants in Decatur after living here a few years now, and I have to say that this is absolutely the best food in town. I had the bibimbap burrito. It's just what it sounds like, and it is fantastic. Really very flavorful, full of veggies, and plenty for leftovers. The pork and fish tacos are also great. I can't say enough good things about this place, and can't wait to go back for more.

A serious hole in the wall place, but it's darn good. Reasonable prices and nice people! Seems to be mom and pop owned, and they speak Korean so they are legit. Will be back soon!

We stopped by the BBQ Takorea last evening and it was amazing. The sign out front could be confusing. It says "Korean Mexican Infusion". Weill I must say that the only Mexican items are the wrapping for the wonderful Korean food. They have bibimbop burritos and tacos and similar items. The area is very small with limited seating. There are some tables outside that have large umbrella and some shade. Many do take out. We had beef bibimbop that was attractively arranged in one bowl with brown rice with a fried egg on top. We also had pork bulgogi that was on a nice plate with brown rise in the middle and sautéed mixed vegetables on the right side.Of course it had a fried egg on top. We both ate with bottled water for less than $20. It was awesome. I can see why so many students come from the surrounding colleges. I returned the next day for lemon pepper wings with fries. The service was always great and the food even better on both occasions. We will return and we don't even live nearby.

We came in right before closing time. The owner was incredibly gracious and fun to chat with. The kimchi tacos were amazing and unlike anything Ive ever had. Incredibly creative. Highly recommended fast, inventive, and cheap food.

Stop reading this review. No seriously, stop right now and go eat at this place. The Korean fried chicken wings are superb and I'll always have a favorite in the pork buns. But you'll find nothing but love in the tacos and other Korean type dishes. It's a small hole in the wall with a small sitting area inside that's impossible to use during lunch but outside is nice. All in all this place is the place in Decatur.

Great spot. No frills, nothing fancy; just a counter, tables, and great food. No wait on a Wednesday around 2pm. The staff is super friendly. We really liked that they grill the burritos (i.e. they stick it in a George Forman-style grill for a little bit after wrapping it). My friend and I split our two burritos, and we both liked the BBQ Burrito better. They come with salsa and ranch dressing, but you MUST ask for the spicy sauce! Please see my photos for extra info/details! * BBQ Burrito (beef, $7) - 4.5 stars This was great. There was just the right proportion of rice, meat, and a few select greens like edamame. It also held together better and was much more easy to bite into than the Bibim Burrito. * Bibim Burrito (spicy pork, $8) - 4 stars This seemed the more intriguing of the two burritos, but it turned out to have way too much greens and extra stuff that tastes great in bibimbap but just throws of the balance of a burrito. Still good but once again, the BBQ was just better composed as a burrito.

Korean-Mexican fusion has risen in popularity the past few years, with my first experience being at Hankook Taqueria. I'd seen this shop a few times while en route to my Decatur restaurant and bar hopping, but never ventured in. The opportunity arose when some friends wanted somewhere to cheap but tasty to grab a quick dinner in Decatur before the Decatur Lantern Festival. The shop has a few large tables for outdoor seating, and not much interior seating. It was a beautiful late spring day so we chose to sit outdoors. The menu is largely written on a huge chalkboard, with similar offerings as Hankook Taqueria. I ordered the taco combo, which was listed on a side chalkboard: two tacos, a side of fries and a drink. I ordered the beef and pork tacos to go with my orange Fanta. The tacos were awesome! The fries, not so much. Never have I wanted less fries in a meal in my life. It was annoying that it took so long for my tacos to be prepared, but I noticed that an older Korean couple prepared the tacos while another Korean man prepared meat in the back kitchen. It's definitely nice to see more authenticity in the kitchen! I can't say it is better than Hankook Taqueria, but it is definitely better than Hankook's sister restaurant, Takorea, hands down.

Hole in the wall! It looks dingy and dont even try to use the restroom unless you want to end up in some horror movie!! BUT if you came here for the food then it is worth it! Idk if its authentic but my American taste buds are very satisfied!

This is a decent family operated restaurant. It tastes pretty good but not that different from something you can make at home. The tacos were $2.50-$3 each. They are a good size and tastes good. I particularly like how the tortillas aren't greasy. They aren't cooked at all. The Korean style chicken wings were really good (6 piece for $8 I think). It comes with fries and a drink. They have a little bit of batter on them but that's how they're supposed to be. It's an old Korean couple that runs it along with a cook. It's a small store with about 5 stools inside and 4 tables outside. They bring out the order to you when it's ready. They're very friendly. It's a good option especially during lunch. I would recommend this place.

Going with some Yelper recommendations - bibim spicy chicken burrito. Not too spicy but verra good. Basically a huge Korean wrap pressed like a panini. I ate half on the spot and half the next day. You get a couple of small tubs with it - one with a nice hot sauce, the other with sour cream. Unless you unwrap the burrito, they're awkward to use especially if dining in. The hot sauce remedies the 'not too spicy' issue, though. Spicy ramyun with tofu - love it. Their version is not the heart attack inducing ramen soup from places like Yakitori Jinbei, which I will eat on my death bed, but rather a healthier-seeming noodle soup. Not very spicy. This one was a take-out, take-home order and I made the mistake of trying to ladle out half of the large container into a bowl. It worked - I had a wonderful bowl of soup to enjoy, but I used up most of the veggies and broth with that first ladling, leaving the second serving as mostly noodles. Good thing I like noodles. Bibimbop tofu - this was for my overworked spouse. She dumped it all into a big bowl, mashed to all together, added Melinda's XXXX hot sauce and declared it 'pretty good, maybe too much rice'. Super small space with weird cramped stools crowded up against a narrow shelf along the window. I ate in once but opted for takeout the next time. They do have a sidewalk table. No customers at about noon as I arrived on my first visit, but then a bunch a people showed up, crowding the space a bit. The second visit, I walked in just as the restaurant opened at 11 and walked out with my food ten minutes later without anyone else coming in. So, maybe early is good if you want to get in and out super quickly. Fast service, either way.

Came here today for the first time and had to write a review instantly. I parked across the street and spent a while walking around to take photographs for a project. I wasn't planning on eating, but I just couldn't stay away from the korean smells coming out of this tiny little place. I had a pork belly bun which was perfect and had kimchi in it. I appreciate that, despite not being on Buford Highway, the kimchi was awesome and perfectly spicy. So good I wish I had ordered more of them (saved half to bring home for my boyfriend because I knew he'd love it and I'm nice.) I think one of those was $3, which seems like a lot for a little bun but restaurants normally charge something like $12 for 3 of them. I also had the bibim burrito with beef - what a great way to eat bibim bap on the go (ate it in my car hoping I wouldn't get a ticket for eating and driving...) The gochujang rice that comes in it is so good with everything. The "fusion" aspect is more that they're putting korean food in mexican form (there's not actually a ton of mexican ingredients from what I can tell, other than they gave me salsa and sour cream with my burrito). This place is tiny and only has maybe 8 barstools against a wall shelf kind of thing, so I wouldn't bring a group and plan to stay. It'd be nice to take it to the square on a nice day. The owners were really nice. I will definitely come back here as soon as possible to try the other 234 things on the menu I wanted. Great food and great price for the location!

I can't believe that I had never heard of this little Korean-Mexican fusion restaurant until today while browsing Yelp! One look at its close proximity, reasonable prices, and tasty-looking pictures and I knew I had to try it for dinner. I arrived at about 5:45pm on Thursday to find 2 diners enjoying their meals outside at the clean patio tables. Within the small, empty restaurant, a friendly, older Korean man greeted me and took my order. When I first ordered the spicy chicken burrito, he helpfully told me that the bibimbop burrito would also include traditional bibimbop veggies within for only $1 more. I went with his suggestion and also got a tofu taco, spicy pork taco, spicy chicken taco, and K-fries. Don't judge! I was ordering for 2! He went to the back to call out my order. 1 Korean woman and another Korean man appeared to make the food. While I waited, I chatted with the guy in the front. Surprisingly, they had been open for 7 months already. Again, why had I not heard of them?? My order was packed and ready in a little less than 10 minutes. Thank goodness the food was still hot when I got home. Spicy Chicken Bibimbop Burrito ($8) - Yum!! They had pressed the burrito in a panini press so the outside was nice and crisp. Within, there was a generous amount of kimchi fried rice mixed with gochujang (spicy bean paste), chicken, and the sesame(?)-dressed veggies (lettuce, carrots, bean sprouts, and more). It came with a container of hot sauce and sour cream. The burrito could have been spicier, but it's still sooo good. Tacos - All of the proteins were very well-seasoned and marinated. They were topped with crisp romaine lettuce and some shredded mixed cheeses. I wish they had put a little more thought into the toppings, like some stronger Mexican cheeses or dressed greens instead. Still, they were very tasty and only $2.50 each! K-fries - these were a little soggy by the time we got home, but they were generously dusted with a mix of spices. A small container of chili-ketchup was provided. Good, but not mind-blowing. I will definitely be returning in the future and not just because I had promised the owner(?) I would. Fast service, tasty food, good prices, close proximity - who wouldn't return? I really hope more restaurants like KBBQ Taco (previously BBQ Takorea) open up within a 5 mile radius of Emory. I can't wait to try their spicy chicken quesadillas, gogi nachos, and KFC wings next time!

The Ramen is outstanding! I work nearby and often order take out from this joint. I have only tried the Ramen and the Bimbimbop burrito with tofu. Both are amazing. The owners are very personable and nice. They are always willing to answer any questions.

Love this place!!! The chicken taco combo was amazing and the pork belly bun with kimchi was perfect!! I highly suggest getting the KFC (Korean fried chicken) chicken wing combo. We are from PA and there is nothing like this near us, definitely a Korean taco fan now!!

This place is a quaint little hole in the wall with GOOD food! It's ran by the sweetest little older Korean couple and they are very friendly! The husband even kind of makes fun of you trying to pronounce the names of the dishes:). I ordered the Bugolgi Bop with the spicy pork--Delish! It's a really good serving, very flavorful, and fresh to order. They have a small bar inside for seating and tables outside as well. I cannot wait to go back and try the other dishes in the menu!

This is absolutely a Decatur gem. Family run Korean-Mexican fusion place, wondered by Steve and his wife. They make super quality food, great service, very affordable, always friendly. I recommend this any day of the week, better than any Asian Mexican fusion in the city. Steve grows many of the vegetables used in the food in his organic garden at home. Food is always fresh. If you're looking for high quality food that's affordable with great service, eat here. It's a staple for my wife and I

I passed the storefront before BBQ Takorea opened and proceded to pass by it weekly until finally it opened! My self-hype was satisfied. I had the bbq tofu burrito and loved every bite - spicy rice, kimchi, cheese, soybeans, tofu all rolled up and grilled with love. Slather on their house hot sauce and sour cream... Next time i might have to go for the bibimbop, or kimchi quesadilla, or Korean BBQ chicken tacos...

  • Chris T.

I've gotten take out from here several times. The beef tacos are a great deal at just less than $6 for 2. The Bi Bim Bop is pretty standard and at $8.00 not as good a deal as the tacos and burritos.

    (5)
  • Cindy B.

We had the bibimbap, my husband got it with tofu, and I got it with kimchee. My husband is not one to try new things, that is until I make him. Then he usually, almost always falls in love, and we have to eat it all the time. This was no exception. The mixture of crisp veggies over rice with the delicious Korean red pepper sauce was perfect, loved every bite. The husband wants to go back tomorrow for lunch already. The prices are very reasonable (less than comparable area restaurants, and the food is better too). The owner/operators are wonderfully friendly. Very accommodating to our vegan diets. Not very good for large groups, but great place for lunch, eat outside, or dinner take-out. And the fact that it's only a couple of blocks from home? Gold.

Woo wee, their kimchee is spicy & very vinegary/sour, at least to my untrained non-Korean palate! I won't claim to know what is authentic and what is fusion influenced since I'm Asian but neither Korean or Mexican. All in all, your taste buds won't be bored here. Tacos are a great deal...meats (I tried the chicken and the spicy pork) are very flavorful and a bit salty, but counteracted with crisp veggies on top (lettuce, shredded cabbage, tomato, julienned carrot, & CORN, which is a great addition that I don't usually see on Korean tacos). I would have liked to see queso fresco on the taco instead of shredded orange cheddar...would have been more of the Mexican influence, but I'm nitpicking. The tangy lime juice & flour tortilla also balanced with the salty Korean BBQ meat. Tacos are $2.50-$3 each, and very decent sized portions. Bulgolgi bap rice entree is giant in size, with the same options of Korean BBQ meat as the tacos, and comes with brown or white rice, sunny side egg and marinated grilled veggies. Again, a bit salty, but counteracted by the plain rice. Also couldn't resist getting a pork belly bun...soft pillowy bun with a good sound of pork belly and the aforementioned kimchee...definitely got a bit of a kick compared to other pork belly buns I've had. Definitely not fancy, but hearty and strong flavors. Can't wait to come back to try the Korean junk food, noodles, & other rice dishes: spicy fries (can they rival Hankook's delicious sesame fries.), Korean Fried Chicken, ramyun, bibimbap, burritos, anything tofu... Very big menu, considering the small size of the space...it is basically a takeout spot, with a few counter stools and a table outside. Bare bones without much decoration other than the photo printouts of the menu food items plastered on the windows, and the big chalkboard with the full menu. Very promising! Update: tried some other menu items so here are the notes. Bibimbap with tofu- very fresh, and great textures between the crunchy veggies and the tofu, rice and egg. Ramyun- I got the mild, but the broth was still very flavorful. It probably would have benefited if I ate this on-site instead of takeout...the egg yolk was already cooked through and noodles were a bit soft by the time I got it home. Giant portion for $5.99. Korean fried chicken wing combo- wings are crunchy, sweet and not too spicy (good for me, though the more adventurous may want to partake in additional hot sauce. The fries that come with the wing combo are generic krinkle fries and not spicy like the k-fries side order.

First of all, the service is incredible. The owners are the ones who run the kitchen, and they are friendly, funny, personal, but also laid back. Great people. The food always comes out super fast and again with wonderful service. The food is great. There are a ton of options, and I like that it doesn't leave you feeling stuffed and sluggish. It's all so fresh and delicious! We will keep going here for a casual, quick meal because the food is authentic and the service is so enjoyable it makes you want to come back! Also it's a local business so support it!

I ate there once... it was good. Next thing you know I'm at 3 times a week for their deliciousness. Once you have one thing good, you can't resist trying something new. Then I realized everything I tried was so great, I had to come back to yelp and leave a review. I'll admit it, I'm not an everyday or every restaurant yelper, It's either 1 or 5. The Korean BBQ Beef tacos were great! The pork belly Yum. Then came the fries and dumplings...OMG Soooo Good.

Kimchi, KIMchi, KIMCHI! Kimchi everywhere! It's like the best news I could receive in checking out a new restaurant -- there's kimchi available. We were really stoked to check out BBQ Takorea since it's opening a few months ago. It's located just off of Ponce on Clairemont and is sooooo tiny. If you've ever been to Falafel King in Emory, you'll know what small feels like. This is even smaller than that, though hard to believe. The menu is written in chalk on the wall and you order at the counter just to the left of the menu. We walked in and waited among a few others. We ordered quite the smattering. Here what we had -- K-Fries -- Crinkle-cut fries with a mix of spices typically seen in Korean cuisine. They were slightly spicy and served with a spicy ketchup. Absolutely delicious. Pork Belly Bun -- Fantastic flavor. The kimchi inside of the bun was absolutely fantastic. The pork was a little off-putting as it was pretty fatty and not seared. Though, the flavor outweighed the texture. Veggie Fried Rice -- Pretty standard. Good stuff and a great item for sharing. Bibim Burrito -- This was my wife's entree. It had all of the lovely flavors of bibimbap and was rolled up in a tortilla. They press the burritos in a panini press so they are pretty easy to manage. The flavors were great and the tofu made it a really hearty entree. Again, lots of kimchi! Spicy Chicken Burrito -- It was ok. The best part of this burrito was the rice and kimchi, but the flavor of the chicken was pretty flat and almost non-existent. It's also kind of funny, but the burritos actually have a small amount of cheese on them, too. They are also served with a small cup of sour cream and salsa. I guess that's where the fusion comes in! Pretty funny and not altogether a bad mix of flavors. The guy that runs the shop is super nice. He came out with our food and even brought us an extra cup of kimchi after I asked about it. They make it in-house and grow everything from their garden up in Suwanee. So rad. This place rules and I truly hope that it makes it/stands the test of time. I'm looking forward to heading back and ordering some of the tacos and ramyun. Already in love with this tiny spot!

I had two Fried chicken tacos and kimchi fried rice.......RIDICULOUSLY good!!!! The fried rice w/kimchi had a sirachi type kick but not too much. The tacos where on soft homemade type tortilla, fresh shredded lettuce and a touch of yellow corn kernels, super light and summery. Combo came with a drink for $9 ($7 with fries, no rice).

  • Jessie K.

Had the bibim burrito and I thought it was a very convenient way of eating bibimbap. The toasted flour tortilla was slightly crispy on the outside and nice and chewy. The only recommendation I have is to request that they mix the banchan with the red pepper sauce too. As is, the only ingredient with the red pepper sauce is the rice. If they did this, each bite would be a tasty mixture of veggies, rice, and spice. Also, using salsa on this burrito kinda clashes with the bibim flavors since tomatoes, lime and cilantro aren't traditionally used in Korean cuisine. Some may like it, but I sure don't. I wish I were in the Decatur area for lunch more. I'd pop in and take out a bibim burrito for lunch pretty often. I'm already craving it again. It's getting added to my short list of food I crave!

I stumbled across BBQ Takorea on Yelp when looking for a casual place to eat in Decatur to meet up with a friend. Thankfully, I was craving Korean Tacos that day, so we opted to try BBQ Takorea. ATMOSPHERE This is a tiny mom and pop shop across from Decatur Square. Think hole in the wall. There's about 5-6 bar chairs that line a tall counter along the wall, and there's also two 3-4 person tables outside in the hallway adjacent to BBQ Takorea. For that reason, I'd recommend coming with only one or two other people, or opt to get the food to go. FOOD Originally, I was craving Korean Tacos ($2.50 each), but decided on the spot to get a Korean BBQ Beef Burrito for $6 instead. It was delicious. I've never had a Korean Burrito before, but this one was pretty well balanced with the beef, the rice, the cheese, and the korean spices. It came with sour cream and salsa, which were great additions to soothe the heat. I did kind of wish that I got the tacos because they came with more veggies, and mine was pretty heavy. But whatevs, I had a salad for lunch which merits me eating a burrito for dinner, right? My friend also ordered the soon du bu (tofu soup). I thought the flavor was a bit milder than I would have liked, but my friend liked it. She normally can't finish her tofu soup, but she killed this one (on top of already not being very hungry coming in). PARKING Like anywhere else in Decatur, you have pretty much 3 options. 1) The parking deck that is free after 6pm at the intersection of Commerce and W Trinity 2) The ~$3 deck near Ponce and Church that's Northeast of the Square or 3) Street parking which is free after 7pm. OCCASION - Meeting 1 or 2 friends in Decatur Sq - Want good Korean fusion food - Looking for something cheap and casual, but not a chain

I'm tempted to give this place a 5-star, and may just do so after a few more visits. This is truly a mom 'n pop joint, and there is love in the food! I ordered the following to take to go: Beef/spicy pork/spicy chicken Tacos (aka "The 3 Musketeers" according to the owner). ($2.50/taco) Although each of these tacos were drizzled with identical toppings/sauces, the distinct flavors of each type of meat still came through, since they were marinated differently before they were cooked (and everything is cooked to order, which is good for freshness, but not as good if you're in a rush and super hungry). The meat portions served in each taco were generous, and were proportionate to the other ingredients (sliced lettuce, corn, shredded cheese). Bibim Burrito ($8)- Imagine Bibimbap (mix of veggies and fried egg over rice) except using fried rice, mixed in with your meat of choice, all wrapped up in a savory bundle of goodness. That's your Bibim Burrito. Sure, it's slightly pricier (maybe 50-75 cents more) compared to a burrito from say...Chipotle. But it's better. :-) Get it. Got it? Kimchi chicken quesadilla ($6)- Wow. This. Just. Works. So. Well. So good. The melding of tartness of the kimchi and the creaminess and savory from the meat and cheese make this a bonafide flavor/texture bomb. This place blows Hankook Taqueria out of the water. And even better....we live close by. We'll be back...often.

the beef is so GOOD. just ask the elderly gentlemen who we observed just a few hours ago. as we sat outside and enjoyed our delicious beef tacos, and pork buns, the octagenerian strutted to the window of K BBQ Taco and oggled the options for a minute. he whispered and giggled to himself, until finally he let out a declarative, "OOOHHHH ooohhhhOOHHHOOOHhhhh, YEAAaaahhHHHHh!" soon after, he wrestled open the door and made his way to the counter, gingerly, as if he, or the restaurant might fall apart. he bellowed his order, through which the polite Korean couple gently guided him: octagenerian: I wanna TACOOOo store owner: What kind? Beef, pork, chi- octagenerian: TACOOOooo, A Tacoo, a TacoO and maybe fries! store owner: Yes, which type? Beef? octagenerian: ALWAYS BEEF. store owner: anything else? Octagenerian: Whoooaaaa OHHhh the Taco! and on, and on. we idled by for a minute holding the door open and willing him to finish his order until finally it was done. and then, so were we.

Lord have mercy, y'all. This place is delicious! The bibimbop burrito will set yo' ass ablaze! But they give you sour cream to cool your jets. The food is FABULOUS! Fabulous! It's literally a mom & pop shop, & totes presh! We went for the first time today, & girlfriend, it got real. We were rootin' & tootin' the whole way home in a heat wave nonetheless! Love her.

Oh yum! We parked the car in front of the Decatur Visitor's center and could smell the yumminess through closed windows. We already made lunch plans at Souper Jenny's, but we couldn't resist picking up a snack "to-go." Got the 6 piece KFC chicken wings and k-fries. Delish! The wings were covered in a spicy tangy sauce and were juicy and packed with flavor. The fries were okay...a little soggy but had a kick. Will definitely go back for more!

The tofu bibimbop was absolutely delicious and I got a side of veggie kimchi that was huge and pungently delicious. The bibimbop had carrots, cucumbers, mushrooms, cabbage, and bean sprouts in addition to the tofu and rice--oh, and an egg on top and spicy sauce. I might get it sans egg next time, as I usually eat vegan. The egg was yummy, though. I posted a picture. My pal got two tacos--one beef and one chicken and she loved both of them. She said she would eat there at least once a week and I concur. The folks who run the place are friendly. Not much seating but we ate outside. The food came up pretty fast for a newly-opened place. I definitely recommend. I would love it if they had a veggie option for the mandu dumplings, but there are MANY veg choices, here.

A little spot in downtown Decatur, my bf and I stopped in for takeout because we live close by, the korean-mexican fusion was was interesting concept, and prices were good. Bf is a picky eater, so he asked if he could get a burrito with just bulgolgi and plain rice. He was (kindly) refused because it "wouldn't taste good together" so he gave up trying to get what he wanted after 5-10 minutes trying to talk to the korean man behind the counter and felt forced to get the BBQ beef burrito with the kimchi fried rice, edamame and beef it comes with. He ended up eating only two bites of it and didn't like it at all, which we predicted because he doesn't like kimchi and the edamame. I understand it's probably a little annoying when the customer want something that isn't exactly on the menu, and you want them to like your food and the combos you've put together, but we were willing to pay extra, and the ingredients were all laid out there pre-made, they just threw them in a burrito wrap and heated it up. I felt they could've worked with us a little more instead of refusing to listen to what we wanted and saying they know what tastes best. For me, I got the same BBQ burrito. I'm very familiar with korean food, and in my opinion, the beef was pretty good, and the edamame was a nice touch. Definitely better with sour cream and hot sauce. However, the burrito was at least 50% rice. Maybe their other menu items are better, but as of this experience, we won't be coming back very often.

The owners are very accommodating. The place has a bit of an NYC vibe with the simple decor and small interior. The proteins on the tacos were all great (we had spicy pork, spicy chicken, beef, tofu, and the fried shrimp). The hot sauce was a highlight. We would love to see them do more with the toppings on the tacos but I'm sure we could have asked for kimchi on ours. The price is right and food is good. We will be back.

We've eaten there twice now and both times it's been very good. We've tried the Korean tacos which are very simple but great flavor and we just tried the bibimbap burrito which are fantastic. if you come here you need to try their own Korean garlic chili sauce which is fantastic.

My husband and I were in GA for a quick business trip. We were sick of Hotel food so we decided to take a walk and explore what was around. We were pleasantly surprised by the food at BBQ Takorea. It is a small quaint place that has that home cooked feel. A+ service with great food quality and taste we miss already. We has the pork belly steamed bun and spicy chicken BBQ tacos. Wish I would have stocked on the kimchi. Will be back for sure to try the bibimbap.

This is one nice place. Owner is a vet too. Only thing that they could improve is the seating, but it's nicer to order out anyways. Mexican/Korean fusion. Neva been dun befoe.

Wonderful new restaurant in Downtown Decatur! The food and service were excellent. I had the spicy pork taco, fried chicken taco, potstickers, and kimchi (all were delicious). The owner was extremely nice and friendly and I can't wait to come back! This is a great place for casual, flavorful, and authentic food!

Pretty good food. Very tight space. Efficient. I had the chicken taco and fries. I thought it would perhaps be similar to the Takorea in Midtown, which I love. I would return. The sauce on the taco is fantastic. This was more than enough for me. Nothing special about the fries. I just put a side of Sarachi mixed with ketchup.

I think it's so cool this place is here. I never paid much attention to this corner of Decatur until now. The place is super tiny with only a couple employees. The owner is very nice and you can tell he's working hard to make this place a success. I would say the food isn't quite up to Hankook (on collier) but it's certainly works for a Korean taco fix. Great addition to decatur

This place is absolutely amazing. Tried it on a whim and had to come back the next day for the same tacos! I literally can't get enough. If you are in the mood for Korean BBQ or some fusion, this is it!

NEW PLACE TO EAT IN DECATUR!!! I've been there twice. I had the Korean BBQ Burrito, the Kimchi and the Bulgogi Bop. The food is super fresh and so delicious. The owners are really friendly. I never had Kimchi before and found out the wife makes it. They took the time to explain how it's made (it can be kept in the ground for years!!!). Very spicy. I love this place. It's clean and affordable, too! I plan to go back again and again and again...

Delicious, affordable, and relatively healthy. I'm hooked on the bibim burrito, but I've also tried the pulled pork bun and the bulgogi--also delicious. The owners are also super nice, and the service is great, but it's definitely a no-frills type of restaurant. The outside tables are lovely when the weather is nice, though!

BBQ Takorea is exactly my speed... order at the counter, delicious food, attentive service, and reasonable prices. There are pictures on the window in case you are new to Korean food. I got the bulgogibap, spicy pork - generous portion size with a side of lightly seasoned vegetables. I'm looking forward to trying out their other menu items, particularly the pork belly buns. Give this place two thumbs up!

We carried out lunch. The beef, chicken and spicy pork tacos were generous sized and excellent. The house hot sauce is great. A tofu burrito was also excellent. We enjoyed the bacon and kimchi fried rice and the vegetable fried rice with bulgogi, except for the fried eggs which were rubbery. I will omit the eggs next time. The house kimchi was superb.
