Our family always goes here for mexican food. I love the pollo loco. The fajitas are great too.

Palmas has the best Carnitas I've ever tasted! The portion size was HUGE, even for a Mexican restaurant. I ended up taking half of it "to go" Great service and pleasant staff. Hard to find. Its behind the Raceway gas station, small strip of stores. Definitely worth looking for.

Tonight we ate here, the food was good and the live music is great. For a Mexican restaurant it's little pricey but it's worth it.

Horrible. Waited 35 minutes for our lunch and when it finally came out was cold! I have been here one other time and it was slow then too. Prices are too high for lunch Mexican food. I have given them two chances, I won't be back!

Not bad! A nice little bar and decent food. The authentic places are better, but there's nothing wrong with this place.

Pretty dang good! Their quesadillas for lunch are always on point. It's my go to Mexican place in dalton! I like to go on Mondays for their $1 beer and tacos! Their chips and salsa is always good and the cheese dip is delish! Never had a bad experience here really but the prices can be a bit high I feel like. Solid 4 stars.

Las Palmas is located in a strip shopping center. It is to me a basic Mexican Restaurant. My book club normally meets there because they do offer us a great space and never rush us. I really love their fish tacos. Some of the best I have had. The staff is always very friendly.

I was very disappointed in our take out meal Jan 2, 2015. Two of our plates were suppose to be chicken ( only ) nachos. When my son brought the food to the table the chicken nachos had more than chicken. He was upset and after spending $40 he drove back to the restaurant and had the order replaced. He stressed that at the time of the order what he wanted and was told they understood. I felt they should have compensated him for having to drive back 8 miles to get it corrected. I was disappointed with the taste of my plate. Must have caught them on a bad night.

Red sauce. Red sauce everywhere! When Palmas first opened, I was so excited. A nice varied menu with lots of new things instead of the plain standard at every other Mexican joint. But the longer they've been open, the shorter their menu has become. And now it's the same stuff as everyone else...with red sauce. All over everything. On the flip side, the place is clean and they have really great service. Try them, you may like them; but I just see red.

I got the cheesy steak fajita. It was very cheesy which was good. But the steak was a tad too salty! I'm not a fan of guacamole but the side guacamole was actually pretty good. Overall it was not bad!

Food was great and the order was correct, the server was very nice. However the fish tacos were not as good as others in town. Over all price is a bit steep and since the food is fresh the wait is a bit long.

Warm inviting dining, very polite attentive wait staff. Love their salsa! I had Carne Asada and it was delicious with lots of flavor. Portions were very generous.

Absolutely The Best Mexican Foods! My husband and I have been going here for some time and we went last night for the first time in about 4 months and they have upgraded their menu and made it so much better and they offer a lot more foods!! We had to wait on a Sunday night about 15 minutes for a table for 3 people but the lady that served us was Very Professional and kept our drinks full and kept a check on us the whole time we were there!! I'm really excited to say that the food we ordered was very Delicious!! We also had a wonderful tasteful dessert!! I was very highly impressed with the service we received and with the foods that we ordered that I am for sure making this our #1 Mexican place! :)

Stopped on our way back to Knoxville from UWG and this place was just as good as the last time we were here. Table side guacamole is to die for! Food was fresh and service was outstanding. A must for Mexican food lovers. We will be back next time through!

Driving through Dalton on our way back to Atlanta and wanted some real food. This place didn't disappoint. Vibrant atmosphere and cheerful colors made the wait for our server less bothersome. The food was fresh and delicious. The tortillas were made in house, guacamole prepared table side. The salsa was a welcome change from the usual chain tomato sauce salsa. The authentic Mexican tacos were tasty and fresh, although the chicken was overcooked. Hubs got the Tapatio special with chicken spinach and mushrooms and he was quite pleased. The only negative was the slow service and the I don't care attitude of the servers. Despite that, I would still stop again because it sure beats the chain restaurant choices aplenty on Walnut Street!

Pretty good place to eat, they make their guacamole dip fresh right in front of you which is nice and it tastes fantastic. My main course however has been average tex-mex at best. Service is good and staff is attentive. Will probably repeat, but not too often.

This restaurant just opened, and was packed on the Friday night we went. The hostess told us it was a 5 - 10 minute wait, but it was easily a 20 minute wait. As people kept pouring in, she'd say the same wait time to everyone. Clearly they didn't have a clue. But this is a new business so we were patient. For being in a strip mall, the place was pretty nice and clean. My only complaint about the atmosphere was the bright even lighting. Not exactly a great place to bring a date. The free chips were warm and the salsa was great. We ordered water, and was surprised to get it in a nice glass, instead of a hard plastic cup. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered the Enchiladas Supremas and Burrito Supreme, and were completely satisfied. We will be back.

This place has all the makings of a high class Mexican restaurant. The interior is beautiful, the waiters and waitresses are very nice and professional, and everything about the place is clean, which is something you don't usually hear about a Mexican place. It doesn't have a crazy sized burrito like its competitor, Los Reyes, but most of its food is pretty much the same as the other place. The one thing that really sets this place apart is the table-side made guacamole. A waiter comes by with a cart and you can order him to make guacamole with any ingredients that you would like. Tied for best Mexican place in northern Georgia

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
