Went here for a birthday dinner and we all ordered different items, burgers, salmon, shrimp and grits, catch of the day.. it was a nice restaurant beautiful inside, they gave us complimentary biscuits and a peach basil jam, which was okay... we got our food shortly after the plating was good but the food was decent. My market catch of the day was supposed to be a cajun flavored fish but turned out tasting like an Asian curry. The shrimp and grits were really sweet, just like it says on the menu it has a sugar cane syrup on the grits. Overall would I come to columbus to eat here again no I don't think so, it's pricey and the food wasn't amazing!

What a breath of fresh air for Columbus! 11th and Bay Southern Table is located near the Riverwalk and has been open for about a month. It has more refined Southern cuisine and a huge step up for Columbus' nearly non-existence food scene (Jamie Keating / Epic watch out!). The restaurant is a mostly open space, a bar to the side and an outdoor area. It has exposed brick walls, wooden beams and and some industrial piping across the ceiling. Booth seating line the brick walls and tables in the center. It's verging on trendy but still a casual atmosphere. Noise level is pretty high and I found it difficult to hear our server when he was speaking. The wait for a table on a Friday night was not bad, approximately 25 min. When we were finally seated, I scanned the space and noticed that more than half of the 4-person tables (and some booths) were being occupied by 2-person parties. 11th and Bay should consider changing to some 2 top tables so their customers can get in sooner. We ran into 2 friends there and on their way out, they mentioned that they felt rushed the entire time and got a sense that they wanted to turn tables faster. More seating for 2 people would probably help that situation. 11th and Bay has a large drink menu - beer, wine and a few cocktails - something for everyone. The food was very enjoyable! For an appetizer, we had the chicken and waffles. Sweet potato waffles were fluffy inside and delicious. The fried chicken tenders were okay - had some flavor but needed salt and fried at a higher temperature to be more crispy. I had the salmon entree with asparagus and black rice risotto - it was very well executed. Salmon was a touch undercooked but the highlight was really the black rice risotto, which was creamy, flavorful and perfectly cooked! The gari on the salmon was superfluous and needs to be removed or at least put on the side as a palette cleanser. My SO had the catfish po' boy which was good as well, generous portion of fish and a large sandwich overall! The truffle fries that accompanied the po' boy needs some editing. The fries were thin cut which I love but had too heavy of a hand on the truffle oil. It also looked like we got the last bits of an order as a handful of fries were on the dark brown side and very small. We also added on a side of the Gouda Mac and cheese - it was SO good. Perfect creamy texture, nicely cooked elbow noodles and lots of Gouda flavor. Service was good overall but they definitely needs to iron out a few kinks with timing. Not unexpected for a new restaurant. Bradley was our server and he was very pleasant. The only thing that threw off our meal was that it took quite a long time to get our appetizer and then only after a few minutes, our entrees arrived. We literally just finished the first couple bites of chicken and waffles. Bradley did apologize for the timing and offered to hold onto the entrees for us. But the idea of the fish/rice drying under a heat lamp wasn't something we wanted so we just accepted the food at that moment. I do like my food hot but after we finished most of the app, our entrees were lukewarm. Oh well. Price point for entrees is great for this type of restaurant. $8-12 apps, $12 salads, $11 burger, $18-$26 entrees and $4 sides. Although now I think about it, I think I was charged $4 for a side of Mac and cheese even though it says $3 on the menu. Watch out for that. This restaurant seems to have all the foundations on being the best place food-wise in Columbus very soon. I'll definitely return and look forward to eating here again.

Right across from the zip line, small gem of a restaurant in Columbus that serves a collegiate crowd. The servers are very good, very attentive. Clint and Margie knew the menu well and knew the availability of the bar to make good choices. Our group had a variety of appetizers with my favorite being the green tomatoes and the miniature muffins with jam. I wasn't fond of the hush puppies they were grainy. The ribeye was good, the sea scallop well done, the grits had the texture of polenta which I liked, but if you like them creamier, this one is not for you. The chocolate mousse was divine, the creme brûlée was tasty and they had Ethiopian coffee that complemented the desserts well. If you like single malt scotch they have a variety including American made choices. If I had one complaint...the chairs were less than comfortable and snagged my pants.

Great staff/service, good location, nice atmosphere, and clean bathrooms. Great presentation on the food, but NOT VEGAN FRIENDLY. For the price, should be able to wow with a vegan choice and not something that could be made at home in less than 15 mins. We requested no oil for our vegetable choice, but our dishes had an oil taste to them (maybe cooked on the same surface with other oil prepped dishes). Others in our party are not vegan and their meal was very good. Hope they come up with a great vegan alternative and not a dish of convience.

Great food, great atmosphere, great service. The ONLY bad thing is the wait and that's due to the fact that everyone wants to go here because it's so great! The espresso rubbed ribeye is absolutely amazing! I love the little biscuits and apple butter that accompany the meal as well!

The worst customer service I have ever experienced at a restaurant in Columbus, Ga. My fiance' and I went there on Friday, March 14, 2015 and were told it would be 45-55 minutes. The hostess said in a way that made me think she did not want us to be there. We waited for an hour and when 3 groups came in behind us and were seated, we asked the hostess how much longer it would be. She told us 20 more minutes and that we had been "bumped" because a call in group was late and to tell me, "that's just the way it is" was inappropriate. I told her that if they were late, they should have to wait and we left the buzzer on the counter and walked about without ever being seated. We frequent all of Mark Jones' restaurants and have never been treated that way. We do not mind waiting, but to be "bumped" when you don't take reservations is ridiculous. The hostess did apologize but her tone was unapologetic. If the wait is longer than what you say be genuine when you tell a customer it will be longer. Will NEVER be back to this restaurant and will tell as many people as I can about how awful we were treated. I am sure their food would never have been worth the treatment that we received at the front of the restaurant.

We came here around 8pm on a sat had to wait a hour for a table, once we got say it was the best experience I've had in columbus as far as dining. The food was great along with the beer selection and the service.

Just ate here and the food is Amazing! Great vibe and the staff was friendly and the owner Mike walks around and checks on everybody to make sure they're having a great time! The menu is really unique and has a little bit of everything. I ordered the ribeye steak and Mac n cheese and it was really good. I thought the Mac n cheese was baked which I love and is so hard to find in columbus, but it wasn't but I still enjoyed every bite. Would love for them to add a custom baked mac n cheese ;) hint hint. Overall the food was some of the best I've had in Columbus and it's just a nice, fun place to chill out at and have a drink. I'll be back a lot and can't wait to try every menu item :)

Highly overrated. Went in with high expectations due to recommendations from friends and wasn't impressed. With that said, I think it has potential.

This place is amazing. I love the location, the vibe and the food is incredible! We've been a few times and each time the staff was great. The wait is pretty long on Saturday night but I think that's normal, anyway. We took others advice on the southern caprese.. It's a must! I love their truffle fries, I've never had any fries as good as those! We are definitely going to be back many times :)

Fun place to go with a group of friends or for a date. You cannot leave without trying the New take on the Caprese. Crisp, Tangy green tomatoes and fried pimento cheese cakes. Slap your mama good. The only thing that I have had there that I would not want again is the Davy Croquettes. The flavor is there but the texture to me was a bit off.

We've been once, and had a take-out order, so I can't really speak of the environment much. It was very well decorated and looked very nice. It did seem a bit loud, but fun. Again we didn't stay to dine there, so I can't say more than that about the environment. Now the food though, that was exceptional! It's a bit on the higher end price wise, but very worth it. We will eat here again. The only downside that I saw was the parking situation. There didn't seem to be much parking available, which can be a hassle.

First time here. I had the Ribeye, the wife had the filet. Ribeye was pretty good, coffee rubbed with steak sauce already on it when it arrived. Wife's filet was tender. Presentation wasn't best, ribeye laying on top of mashed potatoes. Wife filet covered with fries. Had the white chocolate and banana creme desert. Tasted good, but not a very big serving. Over all nice atmosphere But if you want a ribeye. I would chose The Loft. Cheaper and more bang or the Buck. Really good service.

Great food and service with a nice selection of beer and wine. You gotta try this new restaurant across from Columbus' River Walk!!

  • Carolina R.

Great atmosphere, right on the Chattahoochee river so it had a pretty backdrop (we sat outside). My boyfriend ordered the ribeye and I ordered the filet - they came out a little more well done than we would like, but were still good. Drinks were well made. Thought the menu was a little pricey for how average the food was, However, a nice date night restaurant or a fun evening spot in Columbus.

Management and staff are incredibly friendly and professional. They are willing and able to accommodate large groups and the food is absolutely delicious! I had the filet with truffle fries which was awesome. Cocktails are well up to par too! Our group had a really great time!

Having a great time here tonight! The staff is friendly, hard working, dedicated, and the owner is amazing. Can't wait to eat here again when we come back for Creative South 2016. Thank you for the hospitality and great food!

One of the best places I've ever eaten. The specialty drinks are a must to start. The fried green tomatoes are amazing, although most of their appetizers looked pretty appetizing. Our meals were just as amazing. Between amazing food and great service we hope to be back many times.

Came down from Atlanta with my wife and 7-month old son to get away for the wknd. We biked 12 miles along the river and wanted a delicious meal. We were walking to another restaurant when we saw the outdoor patio. It was great weather so we wanted to sit outside, checked out the menu and decided to stay. DELICIOUS! Highly recommend the southern caprese appetizer and the salmon dinner. Would definitely go back

Wonderful food!!! Quick wait at bar on a Friday eve transitioned to efficient and friendly service at a table. Our server, Sabrina, understood our tight schedule and got our food out quickly. Fresh, homemade hot biscuits a nice touch. Craft beers on tap kept hubby happy.

Beautiful walk from the Marriott up the river, to (and please 11th & Bay, don't be offended) surprisingly good food. The young lady at the bar had clearly tried and knew all the offerings, both food and beverage, which helped narrow the choices. Had the southern caprese, excellent. Then the black grouper with grits, excellent (would go pinto gris next time over sauvignon blanc). Finished with dark chocolate mousse, very good (I like salted caramel, but maybe the salt in the mousse was to much, or it didn't go with the bourbon). If I finish work early tomorrow will be there to try some more items.

Restaurant was pretty full for Thursday evening but we were seated promptly. Our waitress was friendly but very busy. The six of us all ordered various steak dinners. We were told the spinach was very good but when our meals were served we all received broccoli (ugh). I then requested collard greens. They were served cold and undercooked. The special fries looked like they were straight from McDonalds. Steaks were okay but nothing special. Will not return.

The food was great by far one of the best steaks I have ever had,the service was good the waiter was very knowledgable about the menu, and the restraunt was very clean. The one thing I didn't like like was the for the price of the meals you didn't really get a lot I was still hungry when I left.

  • Paola A.

Dined there twice, not going back. Our first drinks arrived 30 mins later, and it took the waitress 40 mins to bring the second round of drinks. The food was tasty but cold. The service is too slow and the place can get really noisy; I was yelling instead of talking to my date.

My wife and I walked into the restaurant an hour before they opened. We met a gentleman and told him that we weren't aware of the hours of operation, and were sorry we were early. He told us that it was fine and allowed us to look around the restaurant and peruse the menu. We went back out to kill an hour or so and returned during operating hours. Our host greeted us warmly, promptly and gave us a choice of seating. Our waitress was with us within moments and assisted us in sampling some unfamiliar beers from the taps. The menu offered a well rounded variety of dishes, but wasn't too busy. The descriptions of the dishes were helpful. My wife ordered an appetizer and side for her dinner, and I had the catfish po boy. You could tell that the food wasn't corporate inspired. The dip appetizer had some very interesting flavors going on. The shrimp dip was excellent on its own, while the redneck caviar was a bit odd to my when served by itself. The server suggested that one be served as a relish on the other. When I did what she suggested, the dip came alive. The combination of texture and the layering of flavors was much more complex and satisfying than I expected from a simple appetizer. The third part of the appetizer was a goat cheese and apple combination. It finished the appetizer nicely. My wife had the gouda mac and cheese as a side, but I did not try it. The catfish po boy was done nicely. The bread was fresh and well textured. The catfish was very clean tasting and cooked very well. The fresh pickles and slaw were tastefully done and there was no doubt as to their freshness. The tartar sauce had a unique flavor. The sandwich could have used more of the tartar. When I order it again, I will ask for some on the side so that I can dip the sandwich in the sauce. The fries were cooked to perfection. I am not a fan of truffle oil, but when paired with the home made catsup, it worked. The sweetness of the catsup offset the earthiness of the truffle oil. The bread basket came a little late in the meal. The pepper jelly that went with the bread can be described in one word.... Damn!!! I would put that stuff on ice cream. Our server, Keri, was pleasant and attentive. She helped us navigate through the menu. When our food came, she kept her eye on us from a distance and was there when we needed her. Both the head chef, Philip, and owner, Michael, came to our table and engaged us in conversation. We felt comfortable and welcomed and will definitely be returning.

Excellent food and service. Mike, the manager was very friendly and stopped by our table to chat and ask about our meals. The salmon was amazing and the sea bass special was perfectly prepared. Kudos to Mike and his team for a great new restaurant in Columbus!! I'll be stopping by again next time I visit Columbus, GA.

This was fantastic. Warm and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely I place you will not want to rush out of! Absolutely delicious food. I had the salmon with Risotto. It was cooked perfectly. Not a risotto fan, however I am now. This dish was fantastic. Perfect amount of food left me full and not overstuffed. I also had a rather generous glass of wine. My husband had the Rib eye and fresh fries, with home made ketchup. It turns out everything in this restaurant is homemade, ketchup, crackers, bread, jam... All fantastic. I honestly don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Our waitress was perfect not hovering, yet never MIA. The chocolate mousse is to die for. Save room for dessert! Looking so forward to going back!

Quick trip to Columbus to ride the river trail. Really enjoyed that and then decided to stay for dinner. The fit us on on short notice. Service was good, food was excellent. Trout special was very nicely done. Not cheap but reasonable and a great finish to a pleasant day.

Wonderful place! I worked for the owner for 5 year when he was with Carrabbas and just dreaming of doing this. I love the unique flavors that are offered in the menu....fried gator legs in a sweet and sour sauce followed by a salad with sweet tea vinaigrette dressing....This is an absolute must for anyone looking for a local place to check out.

  • Corey M.

Menu is promising. However, hot food hot - cold food cold. Both app and entree arrived and were presented well. But, plates were ICE cold. Shrimp and grits and belly bits looked nice. I was psyched about shrimp and grits with tender juicy morsels of pig, however it was barely luke warm when I tasted it. Hmmmm, maybe if the plate was hot when the food was plated, it would have maintained temp for at least a little longer before i tasted it. The cod cakes were presented well..... Except they were ice cold. I sent those back and when they returned 20 min. later, the cakes were warm, but once again, the plate ICE cold. Oh, and the corn relish is ice cold, but apparently the cooks knew that and questioned the server wondering if I realized that is how the dish was supposed to be served. Sorry, but you DONT put an ice cold component of a plate on top of an item the is to be served hot and should be the focal point of the dish. Nice place. Has potential but some basic fundamentals of hot and cold food preparation and service need to be revisited and executed better.

Well, I didn't have the best experience. My steak was under cooked, under seasoned, and covered in a weird sauce. The green beans wear basically raw, but the mashed potatoes were great. We got the black eyed pea croquettes for an appetizer and they were bland. I got the chocolate mousse as a dessert and it was awful. It was barely sweet and had like a plain Greek yogurt sauce on it (weird). We had an awful table by the front door that was a high top, they just need to throw that table away. It was right by the bar and folks bumped into us all night. The waitress was awful, our food did not come out with everyone else's,but they comped us a couple of drinks to make up for it so that was nice. All that being said I will say some other folks in our group had a better experience, the chicken and waffles were great and the southern caprese was delish. So I will try it again because it had a cool atmosphere and I wanted to like it real bad!

I've eaten here a lot. It's a great room, and they don't over reach with what they are trying to do. As a matter of fact, I recommend it to friends and out of towners alike. The biscuits are not special, but southern. The Southern Caprese is not bad. Most of my entrees have been on the above average side. But every time I sit outside, like I'm doing right now, I have to beg for a server. I don't mean a wave and "excuse me" beg, I mean a full on form tackle as they walk by beg. It's a beautiful night, in a great spot, but they have to step it up in the server department. I'll let you know about the alligator. If it crawls out on its own.

I normally tip pretty well. Between 18 and 20%. Our Server received 25% from me tonight. He was well versed in the menu items rattling them off by heart. I ordered a Blue moon and he recommended a semi-local brew out of Savannah and I enjoyed it even more. The guy was super professional and just well rounded. The food? I ate myself into borderline gluttony. I was so full that I could barely walk home. I initially had the chicken and waffles. I'll give it 4 star because the whipped sriracha butter was not to my taste, but not to say it won't be to yours. The buttermilk fried chicken was so juicy I almost had to use my napkin as a bib. Then for an entree I had the "Yard bird" extremely well cooked. It came with mashed potatoes and the veggie of the day. Which was green beans... I'm always down for a green veggie. Now the price. You get what you pay for. High quality food with high quality service. You can do the math but after the tip, my total was a bill. I do have some hearing issues so to me it was a little too loud. The lighting wasn't too great. It was set low to "set the mood" but didn't accentuate the mood at all, It just make you use your phone to read the menu. Not cheap , but I highly, highly recommend this place. I'll be returning.

Probably the best restaurant in Columbus, which isn't saying a whole lot. There were a couple of fantastic items that stood out, but the meal over all was fantastically mediocre -- it hit the spot, it did it's job, but I wouldn't write home about it. The service was fantastic and we had a lovely new server when we dined. I was pleased with the rolls they serve while you wait for the food; it was a good introduction to a modern take on Southern cooking. My husband and I ordered the gator wings, the 11th & Bay Burger and the Cutbait Catfish. Having just moved from Washington State, I felt it very necessary to try the gator wings; the Filipino inspired sauce added nice depth to the flavor profile of the gator. I didn't love them, but as previously mentioned, they did their job. My husband ordered his burger medium rare -- and boy, was it medium rare. The burger meat itself was cooked to perfection. I could write a sonnet about how beautifully cooked it was, but I'll save that for another day. What really threw me for a loop was the gargantuan bun that overpowered such a fantastic burger. I would've personally either toasted the bun, or served the burger on something with a little more texture. It was too much of a doughy, uninspired mess for such a great burger. The truffle fries were good; a little on the salty side and a bit soggy, but the truffle oil was definitely noticeable and pleasant. I really did not like my order of the Cutbait Catfish. In 11th & Bay's defense, I misread the menu and didn't realize until it was in front of me, that it would be battered and fried. Perhaps I'm not used to Southern style fried fish, but there was an almost slimy layer between the soggy cornmeal batter and the catfish. Despite the catfish being cooked well, I couldn't finish my meal, because the texture was not pleasant. I thoroughly enjoyed the in house pickled slaw and pickles and again, despite the sogginess, enjoyed my batch of truffle fries as well. I think 11th & Bay has a lot of potential to step up their game and become more than just a solidly mediocre restaurant, but I think they'd need to look introspectively at their menu and perhaps rehash a few items. I will definitely be dining at the restaurant again, as their service was great, their location is ideal (although the indoor restaurant's floor is made of wood and high heels in there are like walking in the Danger Zone), and the "meat and potatoes" of their meat and potatoes ain't half bad.

Best restaurant in Columbus. The Southern Caprese Salad is an ingenious concoction combining fried green tomatoes and Caprese salad. Steaks are tender and juicy. Black rice risotto is great...asparagus is also done well. I've also gotten the grilled vegetable salad which is good too. Great drinks...their specialties are martinis and Moscow mules and of course their wide bourbon selection. Great local craft beer selection on tap and in bottles.

5 star ambiance. 5 star service. 4 star food - only because the sauces that come with the food have a weird, can't put my tongue on it, kick to them. I'm sure other people love it but it just wasn't for my palette. We ordered the steak skewers, 11th and bay burger, and the chicken and waffles. The meat was cooked deliciously and to perfection! The complimentary biscuits and jam they give are scrumptious.

After going three times, I think he best way to classify 11th & Bay is to say that its a good experience, but it is overpriced and a bit underwhelming for what you're getting. It is probably more along the lines of 3.5 stars. Although it is a good addition to the area, I think it is a place where you're paying more for the style of the restaurant/atmosphere than the substance of the food, which is okay, but nothing spectacular. The biscuits they bring out before the meal are generally warm and very good, and the jam/preserves are also really tasty. As far as appetizers go, the Chicken and Waffles is awesome. By far my favorite menu item is the Shrimp and Grits, which has an Asian-twist with pork belly. Its different but still really good. I've had the fried chicken as well, which was okay but nothing memorable. The burger wasn't bad but was completely underwhelming and not worth $13.50. Other entrees look okay, but frankly they're a bit expensive (between $25-$35) and given the hit-or-miss quality of the other menu items, I don't see myself going out on a limb to get them if I'm ever back. After dinner, the bread pudding dessert is really tasty and quite sizable. The french press coffee is also excellent (I've gotten it each time I've visited). The bar is easily one of the better ones in Columbus. The cocktails are generally pretty good (the Moscow Mules are popular, but the house Old Fashioned wasn't anything special), and the drinks look stylish. The beer selection is pretty expansive and is very local with all Georgia draught beers. That said, probably 75% are from Omaha Brewing, which is okay, but they would have done better to expand their selection of Terrapin, Sweetwater, Monday Night, etc. on draught (there is maybe one Terrapin and one Monday Night there currently). Again, I think this is an example of style beating substance- they have plenty of local beer, but they're by no means the best GA has to offer. Still, the bar is great, and is reason enough to go there. Atmosphere wise, the restaurant has a very nice feel to it. I think that's ultimately what you're paying for. It is, however, super crowded and pretty loud. The service is hit-or-miss, but its generally adequate. Overall, a great addition to downtown Columbus, but I think some of the mainstays (Black Cow, Loft, etc.) probably have this place beat in terms of raw quality.

This might be the nicest dinner experience I've ever had. We had a late reservation on Valentine's day (9:30pm) but the service was still on point! We waited a short while and were shown to a very nice table in the back. Our server Clinton was great, extremely knowledgeable about the menu and very enthusiastic. Gave fantastic recommendations. We had the Southern Caprese-EVERYONE needs to try this!!! Almost had an out of body experience. Our entrees were also delicious. Great atmosphere, great service, amazing food/drinks, and a nice location. There's construction going on right outside the restaurant at the moment but don't let it deter you!!

This place is pretty good. Actually, all things considered it's probably my favorite place in Columbus. I travel to Columbus quite a bit for work and I go out to eat for breakfast lunch and dinner. Columbus has lots of chain places but if you look carefully there are some decent non-chain restaurants, and this is one of them. It's right on the river walk, such as it is, so you can take a walk before or after you eat. I recommend looking across the river and making fun of the people from Alabama on the other side ;-) Parking is pretty easy as there's a lot behind the place and street parking back there as well. Worst case park on the main road. Apparently it's an old cotton mill on the river and they tried to keep it somewhat original. The result is a pretty cool location inside and out. There's a nice outside eating area when the weather cooperates. The food is I guess "upscale Southern". The menu isn't huge but there's some good things on there. I've had the salmon (good) but recently I've been having the Yard Bird N' Gravy. It sounded a little rich but it's not. I like it a lot and I recommended it. The green beans they served with it were great. For sides I like the risotto and I love th grits, which seem fancier here than elsewhere. For apps the "Daily Dip" is good. Basically three different types of dips (always changing) and some fancy crackers. The seafood hush puppies were ok but I was expecting more. Also I'm not a huge fan of the biscuits they serve but people seem to love them so what do I know. If I have room for dessert (portions here are decently sized) I recommend the chocolate mousse. It's not huge and pretty tasty. The wine list is ok with a couple decent options by the glass. I've always found the service to be pleasant and efficient. It's not cheap especially by Columbus standards but considering what it is I think it's fairly priced. Overall a nice place to go by yourself, on a date or with a group of people.

I would like to thank Mike and the staff at 11th and Bay. I was in town for business and as usual I try to seek out local fare that I cannot experience at home. I found them on Yelp and decided to check it out. When I arrived Mike invited me inside and immersed me in true southern hospitality. I would like to thank Mike and his staff for opening their doors to a stranger on a day that they were closed. This restaurant is a must see for the history of the building and for the interior design. Top notch restaurant, with a relaxing shiek country atmosphere.

The river walk area is blessed by the presence of this gem, open since last October. Starting with the decor, I believe it's an old cotton warehouse that has been repurposed to make this shiek, urban eatery. From foodies to young urbanites, 11th & Bay hits you right in the stomach. Their entree portions are over the top and the pairings of farm fresh items are nothing less than Chef inspired. The menu is laced with Southern delicacies and traditions. I had the filet which was cooked spot on medium just as I ordered. I am not a grits man, never have been but our server won me over with his description. Starting with the southern Caesar with cornbread croutons, to the filet and 'sexy' grits and finishing with the vanilla bean with macerated berries the meal was remarkable. If you are new to Columbus or you are a long time resident, stop in at this fine eatery and treat yourself.

This is a restaurant run by foodies! They know food, they love food, and it shows. The menu is varied, eclectic, and imaginative. We went for lunch to check it out. We had the alligator wings appetizer. It's actually alligator legs, fried and coated with a pineapple sweet and sour sauce. It's served with more of that and a peanut sauce. The peanut sauce was my particular favorite. The legs are meaty, tender, and flavorful (mild, like chicken). Be adventurous and try them! The beer and wine selection rivals any in town. I enjoyed a Sierra Nevada American Pilsner on draft. It's a light and refreshing beer, clocking in at 5%, perfect for a hot day. I plan to explore their other offerings at leisure. The lunch entrees were all around $12. Certainly very reasonable and competitive with most places in town. We ordered the Goober Burger (Angus beef, peanut butter topping), the Yardbird and Gravy (grilled chicken breasts in a cream sherry sauce with shallots and fresh mushrooms), and the 11th and Bay Burger (Angus beef, sweet red slaw, sharp cheddar). Both burgers were grilled to order, and by that I mean that when you order medium rare, it is just right--pink in the middle. I'm not really a $12 burger kind of guy, but these are the real deal. Our sides were the Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and the white truffle Parmesan fries. The mashed potatoes are just great, but the fries are really something special. I think that many dishes featuring truffle oil tend to be a gimmick, but these have a distinctive and delicious flavor. They're crispy, too--just right. We tried two of their desserts: the Espresso Chocolate Mousse and the Creme Brûlée. If chocolate is what you want, and who doesn't, then the mousse will hit the spot. My favorite is the Creme Brûlée. It is simple and perfect. The caramelized sugar crust is just right. We topped that off with French press coffee, and I can honestly say that everything was wonderful. Oh, by the way--they're serving grilled oysters on Tuesdays and Saturdays now. Guess what I'm going back for?

The best steaks in town! Little biscuits and jelly are great! You cannot go wrong here! Great wait staff, very friendly! Pleased every visit.

Dropped in for a late lunch, had the yardbird with gravy. The chicken and mushroom gravy was good but when I think of mashed potatoes I think velvety and buttery. This was Yukon gold chunks of over done and under done potato piled on my plate. No seasoning. The sauté of mixed squash was the same, mixed over done and under done zucchini and squash. My husband had the scallops for $32 and with each bite brought a mouthful of sand. If you are going to charge that much for a few scallops, then at least clean them right. We had tea and lemonade and a bill for $74.00. Over priced and underwhelmed. Wished I spent my money at Epic.

I currently live in Chicago, one of the most renowned places for great food. It's so true, too! And when you leave you quickly realize how spoiled you were with so much good food around you and you think there's really nothing that can compare. Enter 11th and Bay. Was visiting Columbus for a couple weeks and yelped myself and the hubs a few new places that have opened up since we were last living here. I found this "hot and new" restaurant and was super excited to try it out after reading the reviews. Everything everyone is raving about is true, so I'm going to talk about what hasn't been reviewed yet, like the "shrimp 'n grits and belly 'n bits" entree. Everything about it was delicious -- the grits were perfect texture, the shrimp had a hint of Old Bay-esque seasoning, and the pork was a great complement to it all. I literally licked the plate clean. OK not really literally, but I used the complimentary biscuits to pick up leftover sauce off the plate. It was that good! Our server, Dantevis, was awesome! Totally accommodating and stayed on top of everything which was awe-mazing because it was jam packed in the restaurant...on a Tuesday night! When we asked if they sold T-shirts, Dantevis brought over a T-shirt and a sampling of everything they sell in case we were interested. We inquired about something that wasn't shown and he went and made it happen for us. Bonus of the night: got to meet the chef and owner, Mike. He's got himself a winner here with creative dishes and great service. I'm sure it's going to do wonders for a downtown that has been in long need of adding more vibrant options to its city center rather than more hole-in-the-wall bars and wig shops. So glad I could review this great restaurant!

Great, but sort of overpriced. The only thing we had here that I wasn't a fan of was the "gator wings". They were very dry and weren't well flavored. Highly recommend the southern caprese and the chicken and waffles appetizers! We split the 11th and bay burger since we ordered three appetizers; it came with fries which were aaaaamazing. Their cocktails all sound really awesome (and the Red Magnolia was fantastic), and there is a good selection of craft beers. Service was good as well. Will be back for special occasions. :)

Celebrated my daughters birthday. They were very accommodating with allowing us to bring in a cake. First time dining here and it was great. Will definitely visit again. Please try the Caprese Salad and the Fountain City ribeye. You won't be disappointed.

The service was out of this world. This uptown restaurant was stacked with fellow columbusites and there was a Friday sensibility in the air. Great atmosphere and the dining experience you'd expect for an above average price. The beer and wine list is excellent and catered towards the southern cuisine. The fresh, brought-in-weekly, dessert jam for the bread prior to the meal was a great charm for the table. The entrees were well cooked and the ribeye was brought together with sauteed asparagus that added the green color to the plate. The golden mash made up an excellent side as the steak needed a starch. Pulling the plate together wa the additional topping I requested. It was a truffle butter and oil based sauce for dipping the steak...and everything else. Additional calories well worth it. I enjoy visiting this stop in Uptown quite often.

Everyone's reviews are too long or too short. Nobody got time to read that much. Food: 8.2/10 My catfish po-boy was great but not warm enough; smoked tomato tartar sauce is amazing. My wife loved her shrimp and grits (very warm). Drinks: 8.103/10 Good beer/wine selection. Limited signature cocktails. Service: 9.75/10 Our server, Maria, put up with my silliness and complaining about the catfish. The lady-co owner stopped by to try and get me a new Po-boy (I refused as I had already eaten half). The chef introduced himself to us. Cool! Ambiance: 8/10 I like the decorations mostly but there is a "cutsie" sign that says something about "this place being a place and the place." It doesn't flow with the rest of the modern/rustic (yes I meant that) atmosphere. Overall: 87.34201/100

Pretty amazing. We were seated immediately, brought beverages and our appetizer (chicken and waffles) in record time. the waitress was nice and helpful. My boyfriend and I are long time foodies and we've been to plenty of amazing restaurants and this one is definitely up there.

Great location and great venue. They have a great drink menu. I have been a bit disappointed with dinner items - too much sauce. Also they serve fresh biscuits with jam when you arrive, it would be nice to have another option than a sweet jam, although the jam is homemade. Even just butter would be a good option. Hubby's biggest comaint is we have been there twice and he ordered a burger and they do not have mustard, only option was honey mustard??

While we did have an issue with our chicken being dry, the restaurant owner was very sincere in his concern and made extraordinary effort to remedy the situation to our satisfaction. Mistakes happen at any restaurant, but his response to dissatisfaction really impressed us. The location is fantastic, the exterior seating is air conditioned, and the interior is very stylish. I took a star off for one of three meals being a fail, but the other four were for the management, quality of our other food, location, and pricing.

Great restaurant! The entire experience was great. Our waiter was friendly and went "the extra mile" for great service. The meal was delicious. Everyone at our table was satisfied with the food. The atmosphere is great with low lighting and cute décor. However, very pricey. Overall, great place for date night

I have been several times and enjoy the atmosphere as well as the items I have gotten. I find the prices to be reasonable for the style, so that keeps the restaurant firmly in my list for places to dine. I will admit, however, that I have not explored their menu and have stuck with relatively safe choices. The good news: If you do the safe items well, you will be around for me to try other items in time.

My family decided to take a short trip to the Columbus/Ft. Benning area and we were scrambling to agree on one restaurant to eat at. Luckily, we took some time to walk around downtown and along the Chattahoochee River which is where we spotted 11th and Bay. Although, this wasn't our first choice restaurant, we decided to give it a try....and we are SO glad we did! We were promptly greeted once we walked in. I like that they have a clear host stand/area so I don't have to look around and attempt to find someone to be seated. Initially, we didn't think they were busy as it didn't look like there were many people inside... boy were we wrong. As soon as we were seated, it was obvious that this place is popping! We were lucky and just came at the right time and grabbed a free table! This is also when we found out that this restaurant has only been open for about a week! Wow! My family and I loved the decor and feel of the restaurant! My dad has a good eye for electrical and wood work and he really loved the floors, tables, and lighting of the place--I totally agree! It has a modern feel but a bit of a rustic/homey touch that makes the restaurant so versatile that you could be dressed up or dressed down--honestly, doesn't matter! We weren't particularly dressed up but there were a good amount of professionals who just looked like they came from the office. And the food.... it can all be summed up in a few words: delicious (like clean plate good!), original and unique as well as local! We started off with the daily dip appetizer and the complimentary biscuits with made-from-scratch jam. The biscuits and jam were so delicious! Our server told us that the jam is actually made from a woman who sells her jam on her own and exclusively sells to this restaurant. He brought out a jar of the apple butter we had with our meal and informed us that they actually sold them! We loved the jam so much we bought a jar ($8 for the apple butter)! This is also when our server told us that everything in the restaurant is made fresh and never frozen, extra bonus points for them!! The daily dip was definitely a good way to start the meal, three different dips with house-made crackers that were a bit heavily seasoned but actually worked with the dips. My favorite was the shrimp dip but my dad and sister loved the other ones as well. I ordered the salmon with the smoked gouda mac and cheese and black rice risotto. The salmon came with an aioli sauce and sliced ginger which really helped tied the risotto and salmon together! I thought the salmon was cooked beautifully! Nice grill marks and not dry! The black rice risotto was unique in my opinion considering I've never had/heard of it before. I thought it was really delicious and paired nicely with the salmon. I do wish the smoked gouda mac and cheese was a bit more creamier and cheesier though. My dad ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes and asparagus and said it was amazing. At first his steak looked burnt (can see picture) but it really wasn't, just had a good char. My sister ordered the pork chop and it was another amazing dish. Seriously, all three of our plates were clean! Lastly, I wanted to note that our server (I believe his name was Tom) was outstanding! He was attentive, informative and actually knew what he was talking about and if he didn't, would quickly find out for us. Considering that the restaurant has only been open for a week, their service is on point! Seriously, A+++! I never felt like he forgot us even though the place was packed! Long story short: go try this place out as soon as you can! Sure it's a bit more than your average restaurant but considering the quality of the food and level of service, I'd happily return the next time I'm in town!

I love the location, the decor and the food. I have had good and ok experiences with the wait staff. The bartenders can't seem to make an Old Fashion correctly even when I make it a point to ask (they over muddle so that my drink taste like cough syrup and I can't taste any whiskey). Overall, there food is what we come back for and bring friends and family back for.

Very disappointed. Nice appetizer but our entrees came out after only having our starter round for four minutes. They were cold, when the chef asked my opinion he could not leave our table fast enough. Real pity that he did not wan our opinion about the issues with service and the fax that our entrees were cold. I spent 10 years in the business and we have lived in London, NY, San Francisco and Chicago. We get food and this guy blew us off. You would think he cares but apparently not. BTW or service was great and their was good energy in the bar, had an awesome moonshine margarita.

Brandon is the best server with the greatest attitude & absolute divine recommendations. I don't care for fried green tomatoes; but, if you miss out on the Southern Caprese you'll...well then, more for me! Fried chicken is the best. Ever. No joke!

11th and Bay is a nice addition to Columbus. There are few restaurants like it around here that cater to a slightly higher end. I had the fried chicken with a peach pancake and collards. The chicken was delicious. Extremely juicy and it tasted great. The pancake tasted good, but was quite dry. It went well with the chicken. Unfortunately the collards were not so great. It's not that they were prepared poorly or bad quality, but the flavor of the seasoning on them was way too strong and just didn't taste all that good. My mom had the collards as well and had the same opinion. We had the chocolate mousse and the creme brulee for desert. The chocolate mousse is good, but it's ridiculous how little you get for the price. The creme brulee is delicious and certainly worth it. I like the building it's in, and the service was good as well. It is a bit loud inside, but nothing too bad. We had to wait over thirty minutes even after calling ahead to eat at 8:30, so expect to wait if it's one of the busier nights. It's good to see it's popular, though. The price is too high ($18 for the fried chicken), but it's probably worth trying. At these prices I'd expect a focus on local, organic produce and meat, but there's no mention of it here.

Absolutely adorable inside! Extremely busy on Friday nights. The food was good - I'm not a huge fan of sweet food for dinner, but if you like sweet sauces and apple butter, you will love this restaurant. We will definitely be back.

In from Dallas viisting realtives for the holidays. Dined here for New Years it was a amazing. They do no do reservations on busy holiday times but they do " Call ahead Seating." call and inquire several days before if you are going during high traffic or holiday time. They opened November 2014. I was impressed they were handling the amount of traffic they had on thier first major holiday run. New Years Eve is always insane for dining out. This place is amazing and the prices are the same. To enjoy a five star meal like this would have been double the price in the Dallas,Texas rea. I had the salmon, Hubby had the shrimp and grits they were not your breakfast grits tasted like they were maybe organic they had such a true and fresh appeal to my taste buds. My salmon rivaled that I had at Gibsons Steaks in Chicago. Fresh Atlantic had been caught three days prior (chef came by so I had inquired about the not fishy taste) WOW! SOUTHERN CAPRESE: Grilled Green Tomatoes, House Made Fried Pimento Cheese, Basil Peach Jam,Crème Fraiche and Sriracha.........oh what a party in your mouth. Never had anything like it I would order that twice when I go back. The atmosphere is rustic and comfortable like much of the downtown Columbus area. but with a little extra that adds the chram and allure. Under the wooden flloor, Michael Harrell, Proprietor, has done something amazing with ambient lighting. If you go in the evening check that out. Michael was all over the place but what a fabulos job he does in detail to customer service as an owner. This place should rock the downtown of Columbus for delicious, affordable and "make you want to stay and come back again" place for dining.

We celebrated two birthdays tonight. Some had steak, some catfish and some burgers. Delicious fried green tomatoes and seafood Croquettes to start. Absolutely delightful meal. And the staff had a birthday card for my wife! Splendid evening. And Clinton was over the top fantastic.

Every bite, a flavor explosion! The owner Michael Harrell pulls no punches in his food selection, seems like a family run team from start to finish! Atmosphere truly compliments the South! The level of noise rises and falls with the level of conversation allowed between dishes and bites. Trust me, when the food hits the mouth the savoring starts and talking stops. Questioned if it was kid friendly, guess it depends on the kids, mine are not ones to sit on there hands, not by a long shot, they fit right in the mix, even with the occasional smacking of a knife on a chair. Great place to celebrate our 12 anniversary, started with Michael at another restaurant, this trip blew the first out of the water, by a long shot! Thanks 11th and Bay!

This is my favorite restaurant in Columbus! The cod cakes are to die for, I order them every time I eat here. The chicken and waffles is my favorite for a meal, it's actually an appetizer but it's big enough for a full meal. My boyfriend got the pork chops and said it was the best pork chop he had ever had. It was served with a small glass bottle of coke which I thought was a great touch. This is a great restaurant addition for Columbus. It's great for dates as you can easily take a walk on the river afterwards

My coworker and I came to Columbus for a work trip, and we're recommended to go here. When we stumbled in, the place was glowing with cool lights and had a lovely, wholesome vibe. We had a delicious dinner (the black rice is spectacular) and the owner actually came over and sat down to chitchat for a while. It was the perfect start to our trip! We actually went back the next night (Thursday) and it was hoppin'! The bar was packed and a crazy awesome vibe was going through the place. Would definitely recommend this for a night out on any evening. Wish we weren't going back to nyc, or we'd be there again!
