We were made to feel like "we" didn't belong there. I ordered before I got there because I wasn't sure how we would be treated. Even though no one was rude, no one was friendly. Felt completely ignored and no one said/asked anything. I guess my money isn't good here. I'll keep it moving. I don't know what it could've been...my hair maybe. Next time I'll have it straightened.

The only reason I gave 3 stars is I have been to alot of bbq places all over and it just doesn't match up. That being said, the food was good very busy and my waitress was very nice and took care of us well. We had ribs they were good tender very thin sauce different than what you normally see but good. We also had pit beef was very good coleslaw was spot on. This is a good restaurant more than just bbq. I will go back and see if I can add a star...

In the mood for some bbq but unfortunately my smoker is on the fritz. Decided to go out for some bbq instead. Found this place, thanks yelp, and it was packed to the brim. I was promptly greeted at the door and ended up having to take a number and wait 20min for a table. (Suggestion 1: Senior citizen hour starts around 4pm and it stays packed until 8pm or so on Fridays. Plan accordingly.) Seating is old south, diner/restaurant style. Tables and chairs arranged in an open space with car decor and swap meet style knick knacks hanging on the walls. To the rating: Service: Waitress was outstanding. Kept my tea coming and checked up on me regularly. She messed up and brought slaw but quickly corrected the mistake. 4 1/2 stars. Food: I ordered the rib plate and got 6 ribs that were kind of torn apart and not really cut. They were served with a vinegar sauce in the plate and a thin bbq sauce was also served. The ribs had a slight smoke flavor and were kind of tender. They were also served with 2 pieces of bread and a stack of fresh cut fries. First let me say, Im a BBQ snob admittedly. Im that neighbor that fires up the smoker every weekend sun, rain, snow, doesnt matter, BBQ will be cooked. The ribs were good for a restuarant. Good as mine? NO But they hit the spot. They could have been cooked a bit longer for tenderness and more rub added for flavor but otherwise good. The fries were good as well. I really like them. (Suggestion 2: i saw the kids rib plate and it was large! 4 pieces of ribs and just as many fries. If you arent extremely hungry this may be the thing for you.) 4 stars. Parking: The lot was completely packed! A lot of parking but the place was extremely popular on Friday nights. (Suggestion 3: There is a secondary lot behind the primary one.) I would suggest this place if you want good food at a reasonable price.

More of a hometown local diner joint that also offers BBQ, Wallace BBQ has it all, from burgers, salads, sandwiches up to ribs, chicken, pulled pork and the traditional BBQ items. No brisket here though, so if this is your game changer move on. I liked Wallace, but the food was not a happy medley of components enough to give it a 4 or 5 star. While the ribs were smoked, marinated in a vinegar based sauce they lacked bark - but still, excellent. 4.5 stars on the ribs. While I don't take this lightly, the rest of the experience falls short. The chicken was partially dry, while in good flavor, only gets a 3 star from me. The sides were not good. The Brunswick stew was bland and lacked any pop of flavor, 2.5, fries were mushy, even though they were what looked like home cut fries, grease and mush kills them. 2.5 stars. Cole slaw was average slaw, 3 stars. The service was very, very slow to start. the dining room was busy but only half full. Yet it took quite a while to get any initial response from anyone. Someone who wasn't our waitress came and got our drinks and then finally later our waitress got our order. The food came out quickly after that - but you expect that it's BBQ and ready for you anyways, so I can't merit that. The interior also kind of fits the old small town diner theme, it has booths and even a "car booth" you can sit in (like the back end of a car with a booth in it) along the permiiter of the dining room while the tables in the middle are old school wood that you'd find in a back woods BBQ joint. I like the décor, 4 stars for it. I think on a perfect day this might have given me 4 stars and I would maybe go out of my way to come back - but on this day, it did not impress me enough to warrant an out of the way return in the future. Understand I travel a lot eating many different types of BBQ, and BBQ is a critical point for me, so YMMV.

Where do i start. Walk in and 3 servers sitting at a table chatting it up. I'm not sure of its seat yourself or wait to be seated, so i had to ask cause the 3 servers only said welcome to Wallace Brothers. Service was awful at best. Server asked me,"what do you want to drink?", as she handed me the menu. I asked what was good she said everything is good. Lame response. She brought me my drink i have her my order of ribs and beef plate. She brought my order out about 5 minutes later with a refill of tea in a separate glass and left it on the table. That was the lady i saw my server for the tray of my meal. I wish theserver had come back to check on me before I stopped eating so i could ask for something other than the beef. The beef tasted like canned beef not from a smoker or handmade. It wouldn't feed it to my dogs. It was the worst beef I've ever had, ever. I also ordered a side of Brunswick stew. Also tasted like it read from a can. By far the worst Brunswick stew, again, I've ever had. Here are a few saving graces, so that if you do go there there are a few things i did like and might try again but not likely. I got a fries as a side, they are awesome. Similar to Five Guys fries. Hand cut, and delicious. The ribs were decent. Not my favorite but they were pretty good. The surprise was the sauce. It's a vinegar based sauce. I assume they use drippings from making the Q and mix it with some vinegar. It's a unique sauce that did taste pretty good. It's not a molasses based so it's very watery like a vinegar based sauce. I got a ribs and beef plate, side of Brunswick stew and a sweet tea and that cost me $16. No value and way over priced for what you get. In total i spent $19 on the worst meal and service i have had in months. It was the complete package of disappointment. Crappy service, not so great food and very little value. I've worked in food and food service for 20 years. I met my chef wife while working as a cook. And I've waited tables from low to high end restaurants. This place is one to stay away from. If the staff is as lazy as they approach their serving job I'm sure they cut corners everywhere else, i.e. cleaning and being sanitary. I will say one thing on defense of the service. I did observe the other servers being much friendlier to their guests then mine was to me. Not sure if it was the shirt and tie i was wearing in relation to the significantly more causally dressed other customers, but i was not treated with the same service as they were. I gave them 2 starts because i did like the ribs, the sauce and the fries. But that's less than half my meal. And the horrible service lay them the third star.

I guess I am bucking the trend here...I was excited when our office moved close to Wallace BBQ as I had heard wonderful things about it and had co-workers who raved about it...maybe my expectations were high, but I was so disappointed! First of all, they must get a LOT of regulars, as most people were greeted by name and were not given or even offered a menu. I, however, had never been there before and stood at the door for awhile until a server finally hollered, "Just sit anywhere!" So I sat...and sat. When a server did come over, she was very nice and friendly and asked if I needed a menu. I said "Yes, I've never been here before," so she wandered off to get me one. It was a freezing cold day, so I asked for coffee. The coffee was old and lukewarm (and was never refilled or topped off...as I rarely saw my waitress). I ordered a chopped pork sandwich, fries, and Brunswick stew (the stew to go). I was not aware that you had to ask for sauces and there were none on the table. Even though the server knew it was my first time, she did not explain how things worked...just whisked my food out, plopped it on the table and disappeared. If the meat is outstanding, you don't need sauce...but this sandwich desperately needed it. Also, since I didn't know to ask for the bun toasted, it promptly fell apart. The fries looked gorgeous, but were barely warm and limp. I then had to flag down my server for my check and was late returning to work. The next day, I was excited about eating my Brunswick stew for lunch. I opened the container and it looked, seriously, like canned dog food. The smell was good, but there were no discernible things in the stew...they had obviously used an immersion blender to mush everything up...maybe it had tomatoes and corn and meat and things like that in it, but you couldn't tell. It was a uniform pinkish bowl of...well, not sure what. Despite the good smell that came out of the container, I just could not bring myself to eat it. Maybe it was good, maybe not...but I like Brunswick stew with chunks of shredded meat, whole corn, tomatoes... All in all, a disappointing experience. Everyone was friendly (not fast, but friendly) and it seemed like the regulars were thoroughly enjoying their service.

This place is STILL amazing! Every time I go here I get the same waitress, Allie. She's always friendly and somehow keeps up with what's going on in my life even though I'm sure that she does it with everyone else as well! In addition to that, everyone is nice and the service is outstanding. Little hints that first-timers need to know: 1) You seat yourself and the waitress will come to you table to take your order. When you walk in they will greet you, and let you know to sit wherever you like and ask if you need a menu. 2) The BBQ sauce is vinegar based and REALLY thin. It's not like the store bought stuff. 3) It's a family restaurant, they are SUPER friendly. If something is wrong or you don't like something, let them know. I've been going to this place for almost two years now, I've never had an issue with my food that they weren't willing to fix. Can't decide what to get? Get the Chopped Steak, you will NOT regret it.

If this is what the locals deem great bbq they are really missing out. Decent meat, sub-par sides. I visited once and will not return. Fries sopping with grease and my step-daughter said her beef brisket tasted and smelled like tuna fish. Too bad as this place is one of the only restaurants close to me!

Terrific BBQ. A family owned restaurant with pulled pork so good you don't need sauce. The price is an unbelievable bargain. We hit this place passing through Atlanta and couldn't have been happier with the friendly service...even for a couple of Yanks...and flavorful food. Additionally, there is a wonderful secret about Wallace's and it is the pork fries. A plate of french fries covered with a scoop of pulled pork and melted cheese and served with ranch AND blue cheese dressing is a wonderful concoction. The people and food here will really make me come back!!

I'm a Fan! I was rushed *REALLY* super rushed to catch a plane so i didn't have time to spend in this place, but the time I spent was GRAND! Taken by decor with classic gas pumps, cool jukebox, and even a Tom Thumb Watling scale worth weighing yourself on - SO COOL! I wish I had more time! Cool food that was delicious and showed local cooking talent that should keep that place packed like it was when I was there! Loved the pickles and onion rings! Rib plate was so amazing! Best ribs I ever had because they were cooked perfectly and had the most amazing sauce! I told my wife about these and she needed ribs ASAP! Unfortunately, we went to Alexander's in Michigan and were served the antithesis of the Wallace BBQ deliciousness! Place was dirt cheap too! Waitstaff was great too - Real Nice Southern Charm! Damn! I wish I had more time to spend at this Place! FUN, FAST, FRIENDLY, FANTASTIC, FOOD!!!!!!

I started to go to Wallace's in 1980. They were still in their tiny building that has since been replaced by a much larger restaurant. Our area has many barbeque places but Wallace's has served consistently good food in house, catering, or take out for many years. Service is fast making it a great place to get lunch and back to work. What is good barbeque varies from person to person. Of our many local places this one is my pick!

So They Had THE PIC OF THERE BBQ SAUCE REMOVED --- "We're writing to let you know about our decision to remove one of your photos of Wallace Barbecue Restaurant. Our Support team has determined that it falls outside our Content Guidelines ( yelp.com/guidelines ) because it is not representative of the business. " NOT RELATED?? YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ... ITS THEIR BBQ SAUCE! This Business Is Definitely Sitting Under A Huge SHADE Tree!

So far, opened the door to an empty hostess stand and some of the staff sitting in dining area eating pound cake, shootin the breeze. One of them looked over and said "just sit anywhere." We had three different people come to our table, the bus boy brought drinks (GROSS) one waitress took our order and brought our food, then said, "I'm not your waitress but she'll be back to check on you." I'm not sure but I think the 3rd person may have been our waitress but she just brought refills. The Q was OK, came out very quick. Meat was tender and decent smoke flavor. Sauce was very wet, hard to tell what kind it was...but added some hot mustard sauce which was really good. Fries were better than average. Hand cut and crispy. BBQ house on Thornton is probably a better bet.

It's easy to see why Wallace Barbecue has been in business for over 40 years......They do it right!!!! I had a pork sandwich, sweet potato, and onion rings. They were all excellent! Delicious!!! I will definitely go back! Great, friendly, service.

If your looking for horrible service, disgusting food, long wait times & expensive prices; this is not the place!! This place gives you great food for a great price. The staff are very friendly and attentive. And they get your food right out to you. I HIGHLY recommend Wallace BBQ. You will NOT be disappointed!!!

I love this place! Their pulled pork is awesome; fries are also yummy. Brunswick stew is also good. My boyfriend loves their chili burgers! Their barbecue sauce is vinegar based... which was bizarre when I went here for the first time since I had never seen that kind of sauce before, but it turned out to be really good! Service is always fast and friendly. Even when they are busy, they get people in an out pretty quickly. We don't have to wait too long to be seated, to have our order taken and to receive our order. We are usually in and out within an hour.

We've been coming here for about 30 years now. Hands down one of the top BBQ restaurants that we've ever found. We are huge BBQ fans and this is the place that we compare all others against anytime we take in another BBQ restaurant in our travels around the metro Atlanta area and when we travel out of state. Found a couple just as good but none ever have been better. Their Pork Plate is amazing. It contains the leanest BBQ you can find. You just never get a bad piece of meet here. Their vinegar based sauce is always a perfect pairing. If you're a blue cheese dressing fan then this is the place for you. I always get a salad just to experience the blue cheese dressing. Best ever!! I could rave about this place for days but, the best thing of all is how reasonably priced their food is. It's nearly impossible to get the combination of an incredible meal at a VERY affordable price. Well, this place does both. This place is a true gem and it's a place we always bring friends and family from out of town to experience. No one is ever disappointed.

I am very wary about giving 5-star reviews now. Judging my my ratings distribution, a little over 25% of my reviews get the coveted 5 star rating. I want that number to be closer to 5 - 10%. Even under this strict new ratings system, I would be wrong to give this place anything under 5 stars. This is my new go-to place for BBQ if I'm ever in the southeast region of the US. Simply put, as other's have mentioned... Awesome family-owned restaurant with TERRIFIC food at a great price. The ribs plate is the way to go, and if you come here, don't get the ribs and think the food was just ehh... next time TRY THE RIBS! Beautifully smoked to perfection. Seriously, so good that you don't even need the sauce. A note about the sauce too, it's a Carolina-styled vinegar sauce. I think most people come to expect sweeter thicker sauces like Memphis or Texas BBQ sauces... but avoid all that trouble and just have the ribs without the sauce - the smoky flavor is all you need! I can only think of one establishment that can be comparable to this - and that's Pappy's Smokehouse in St Louis. Forget local hot spots like Fat Matt's, Wallace Barbecue is the place to go!

Not sure where all the raving reviews came from. Our experience was not that great. It started with a waitress who must have never worked tables. She forgot half our order, forgot to bring a knife out with my steak, then forgot that she had to get me a knife. The drinks are refilled with a half full glass that looks like it may have come from another table. Our waitress refilled my wife's sweet tea with regular tea and my coke with something that wasn't coke. Pretty painful experience. I tried to look beyond the waitress. The food was just ok. Didn't taste like they were pulling the bbq right out of the smoker. My guess is hours before and it was sitting in a pan. Salad was good, potato boring. Steak better than it should have been for the very reasonable price and the 10 minutes it sat on my plate waiting for a knife. I give it 2 stars because it isn't 100% the fault of the restaurant when they hire someone new. AND, the hard working guy seating everyone really wanted us to like it. He must be an owner (or the best employee they will ever have). He brought a negative 1 star up to a 2 star review. Again, decent place with average bbq and one bad waitress.

We stopped in at Wallace BBQ for supper on a very busy Friday evening. Despite the crowds, service was Excellent! The food itself is not the best bbq in the area for our tastes, but its also certainly not as bad as a few reviewers have said. The restaurant itself was clean and every staff member that we interacted with was friendly and efficient. Given how jam packed the place was and how the servers, bussers, etc were running their tails off everyone was beyond pleasant, which is not always the case during restaurant rush hour.

There is one word that you need to know when coming to this place ...RIBS. They are awesome here! This is a no fuss bbq joint that is family owned. They feature a Carolina style mustard and vinegar based bbq sauce that is spicy and phenomenal. This place doesn't have the thick tomato based sauces, so be prepared for something different. Also, instead of a dry rub, they use a sort of marinade which is really different for my experience with bbq but it works for them. The bbq is really tender and juicy and the flavor seeps right into the bone. The coleslaw is fine shaven and sweet and the perfect compliment to the bbq, especially if you are using the spicy mustard vinegar sauce. The baked beans are tasty and good. I am not a huge Brunswick stew person but theirs is fantastic with the addition of the special sauce. Service was great! The only reasons why they don't get 5 stars for me are the following: 1. Their pulled pork is just ok to me. It is tasty and juicy, but I like mine with a little more smoke and char to it. 2. I think they should have one more type of bbq sauce for those who are not into the mustard sauce. I applaud them staying true to their vision but I think one extra sauce would appeal to a wider crowd. Other than those things, you can't find a better bbq spot!

On my 2013 Georgia roadtrip, I could have went anywhere for BBQ and because of my great experience i had for lunch back in 2010, I had to make a return visit. It was damn worth it! Pulled pork, AWESOME. Ribs, THE BEST I'VE HAD east of the Mississippi Down the list; Brisket was not my favorite. It was still good but I don't like it soupy either. Brunswick Stew was good. Also, service as always was top grade. Despite how busy they get, they take care of you! Be sure to tip them because they work much harder than they have to. Might be the best BBQ in Atlanta metro...

The BBQ pork was ok but not as good as others have reviewed. Sides were mediocre at best. No where close to a 4.5 star BBQ joint. Not even an option for Texas Toast only cheap buns for bread. My BBQ came on a plate drenched with sauce to make up for how dry it was. Really good BBQ does not need to be drenched in sauce. Service was friendly and prompt and the restaurant atmosphere was very nice but the main feature (BBQ) was lacking.

Coming back to Wallace's after moving to Texas, and just eating Lexington and Chappell Hill BBQ early in the week - - plus local FOX BROS - - this is still a great place. Great BBQ/BBQ sauce/fries/onion rings/stew, consistent, friendly, inexpensive. Location may be out-of-way for many, but I try hard to get there every time I am in the Atlanta area.

This place is an institution in southwest Cobb (Austell). The same people have been coming here for years, and I consider myself something of a regular, even if I only go once every month or so. Not fancy at all, but great service, and the food is brought to you very fast. I usually get the Pork Thrift Plate with the pork sandwich, a baked potato (an upgrade option vs french fries or onion rings), and side salad with thousand island dressing. I don't know how they make the thousand island dressing, but it is better than in any four and five star restaurant. You have to note though that the salad is very plain with lettuce and not much else. The dressing makes up for that. The pork sandwich is pretty good. I have had better bbq elsewhere in my travels, but the sandwich still hits the spot. I usually pass on the fries and onion rings just because I like a baked potato better. But both are solid choices, though a bit on the greasy side. All in all, one of the best values to be found anywhere. Good food, good service, friendly staff, great prices. I will continue to be a regular at Wallace.

Great down home southern hospitality and finger-licking good BBQ at an absolutely steal of a price! Tasted the beef and stew plate: beef was tender, juicy and had great flavor. If you like strong BBQ flavor then you'll need to dip it a bit in sauce but for me it was right on. The stew was delicious as well. Great flavor and consistency. I had the fries as my side. Love hand cut skin-on fries. They were fried to just the right consistency and seasoned well. Girlfriend had the rib plate. As big a portion of ribs as I could imagine for $10 with meat just falling off the bone! Yum. She had the sweet potato and liked it though would have liked to have been warned about cinnamon being added on (we're new to the area so maybe that's a known for locals). We drank water and so the bill was like $18...ridiculously cheap. The only off thing is being served plain cheap hamburger buns as your bread. If they stepped it up to a Texas toast this place would be the absolute best! Oh, and if they served beer that wouldn't hurt either. Best BBQ we've had in ATL thus far, will definitely be back.

There is nothing fancy about this place but the food is consistently delicious and they are often packed. I've had the pulled pork and the beef brisket here. If you choose the brisket I recommend asking for an inside cut as it is less fatty. They will also toast your bun for you but you have to ask for it. The service is the only reason I haven't given them 5 stars because it is really hit or miss. Often the service is warm, friendly and attentive but it can vary from great to really bad depending on which server you end up with. Something to note: they are family owned and close down for a few weeks each December and over the summer so the whole staff can take vacation so call before you go during these times.

I don't judge a BBQ place on decor, I do it purely on taste and Wallace excels in taste. I think it's a good value, too. Highly recommended if you're nearby.

I'm not a big fan of BBQ so I was less than thrilled when my friends chose this place to eat, but had high hopes when I saw the 4-star rating. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. I ordered the BBQ chicken plate with a side of beef and onion rings. The onion rings were fantastic, but I can't say the same about the rest of my meal. The chicken was ok but the beef was dismal. It was dry and lacked good flavor. I asked for BBQ sauce to add to my chicken and got this liquid soup they call BBQ sauce. I like my BBQ sauce thick and this was disgusting. The hot sauce had the proper consistency, so I used that as my dipping sauce instead. I tried the chili which was actually tasty, but did not make up for my overall disappointment with this place. I will never return. On a positive note, the service was excellent.

Anyway here is my Wallace opinion.... I do not understand how the sauces can be that bad and this place has been in business for so long. When the waitress tells you the "BBQ sauce is not for everyone" we should have known there was a serious issue. Sauce from kitchen F watery junk. not vinegar based, not catsup based. More like bbq flavored au jus. Sauce on table: Hot watery mustard. D- Pork well cooked lacking flavor, seasoning, or salt. Moist B Ribs same B- Slaw better than average but I have had better C+ Fries- A+ The high point of the meal. Catsup on table- watery cheap stuff. D Service: Lazy. Left pitchers on table "so we can refill our own drinks", almost refused to remove dirty plates even though they were stacked. Food- Served quick, but meats not hot. FOOD SAFETY issue. Overall- not worth the drive. (58 miles OW from my house)

This is hands down the BEST BBQ in the Atlanta area. I love the staff- they are so friendly. The prices cant be beat, you will not spend more than $5 per person for salad, sandwich, and home-made fries (thrift plate). The BBQ is terrific, tender and moist. The sauce is wonderful, light and not too vinegar-y. The dressings for their salads are out of this world! I buy the blue cheese by the pint!!! The HOT bbq sauce on every table is very good in stew and on the sandwich. The sweet tea is so sweet it would make your teeth hurt from just the mere mention! Awesome family-owned restaurant with terrific food and GREAT prices. Only con, is its far- they need another location!!

Good old southern barbecue joint. The food is tasty, the folks are folksy, and the restaurant is simple but nice. I have noticed that Wallace's is very popular with the locals, which is actually where I learned about them. I wouldn't drive across town for the food, but definitely check them out if you are in the area.

While in Austell we were looking for some good BBQ for lunch and a local suggested Wallace to us. Basically this places is a family owned version of a Sonny's. The service was great, but the meat was so-so, only 1 type of sauce offered and it was HEAVY with vinegar and they didn't have mac and cheese on the menu (really?). I guess if you live in Austell then this place is fine, but otherwise keep driving.

I have been wow'd by Wallace's. I'm always on the lookout for a great bbq place and this is definitely one of the top five in my book. Oh, and it's very clean. I thought I would throw that out there since one of the restaurants in Atlanta was recently in hot water over posting an incorrect inspection score. Tisk tisk. Anyhoo, I ordered the pulled pork thrift plate with slaw, a side of fries, and sweet tea (seeing a pattern yet?). It. Was. Gooood. The barbecue sauce was yummy and did not leave me hanging (hangin? Ah well). And I am definitely selective when it comes to slaw because I've had some really bad slaw before and you can go really, really wrong. But not here! I will even recommend the slaw. The fries were even really tasty. And yes, the sweet tea was excellent. All for $5.35 + drink? Heck yeah! It's hard to find places where you get quality for a decent price (or perhaps a steal, in this girl's mind. I've gotten the same thing other places and it isn't as good and I've easily paid $11.95. I'm not saying it was smart, but I did it. I definitely recommend Wallace Barbecue and when my family comes in town this is where I am taking them for sure.

This place has great BBQ. Every time I go here the warm wood interior welcomes me as a Barbecue for locals. Keeping my belly and wallet happy is no easy feat, but Wallace's delivers. Pleasant and friendly waitstaff. Hearty portions. Really easy parking. Eat here and you will not be sorry. All good food. Keep going back and you won't be disappointed.

I guess that my expectations of this place were set a tad bit high. My son & I came here for dinner on a weekday night and waited less than 5 minutes. I got the chicken here and it was pretty dry. My sweet potato had NO flavor whatsoever. I'd liek to try the pork and will go back but I won't be going out my way.

Several bbq houses in the area that are just like this one. The fries are homestyle cut with the skins still on but they are VERY greasy! The meat is just ok. The bbq sauce is good but its very thin & watery. I wondered what all the hype was about & after eating there I still wonder. They do gave an excellent bbq baked potato.

The first time I went I had their wings, which were fantastic, and the rib plate with brunswick stew. The ribs were a bit dry, and the brunswick stew left a little something to be desired, although I can't quite put my finger on it. I suspect I might have just had a fluke though, due to the crammed parking lot and dining room when I was there. The service was great, as was the sweet tea. I loved the atmosphere, and I'm inclined to give them a second chance.

I've been going to Wallace's since it was in house down the street from their current location. The BBQ is vinegar based so don't go expecting a thick sauce. That's not Southern BBQ. That's Texas BBQ. Get the pulled pork with heavy sauce. Yumm!

This is my BBQ restaurant of choice in the Atlanta metro area. I drive out to Wallace every now and then (since it's a bit of a haul from in town), but it's always worth it. They offer mostly vinegar-based sauces, including a very spicy sauce that can be bought separately in bottles for home cookin'. I'm a huge fan of their pulled pork, which comes in big juicy pieces (rather than chopped and dry, as many BBQ places tend to serve it), highlighting the sauce's flavor. They've also got great Brunswick stew. One important note: they're closed on Sundays and in the days/week surrounding major holidays. It's best to give them a call if you're driving a long distance to eat there to make sure they will be open.
