Unique items with great ingredients create great favors! It's good and great place! Had the lunch box there and perfect portion! Will have to go back for dinner to check out their dinner menu.

Interesting little joint. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is very clean. We had the cheese plate and popcorn shrimp to start. The cheese plate was very good, but the popcorn shrimp was so so. They served it with mixed with stale popcorn. For dinner, we had the Hangar Steak and Seafood Linguini. The linguini was not the best I had. The seafood in it was good, but the sauce was average (slightly bland) and the noodles were a little overcooked. The steak was pretty good. On the side, we had mac and cheese and broccoli rabe, both were quite good. For desert, we had the orange cream float with bourbon ice cream. If you like bourbon, this is definitely a winner dessert. One big complaint was the restroom. For being a bar/restaurant, they only had one (for each gender) single use toilet that was also shared with the employees AND it is located on the second floor, not the main dining area. When we arrived to the restaurant, we were the only ones in the restaurant and I still had to wait to use the mens room.

The food is very interesting if you like Tapas-style; I had the popcorn shrimp (Fantastic!), the chopped salad (OK) and the seafood linguine (Very Good). Looking forward to going back and trying other things on the menu; single items may be a bit pricey, but the price is worth it for those who enjoy trying new things. Not a traditional dinner place, but great for drinks/wine/snacking.

Probably the worst dining experience I have encountered in a long time. The service was fair but the quality and presentation of the food was sad. Not to mention the price! Our entire party was so disappointed. The deviled eggs were very fishy and the popcorn shrimp is literally popcorn with 3 shrimp and covered in ranch dressing. Can you say SOGGY! The Mac and cheese was from a box. I could go on about the entrees but why bother. Overall......don't bother going here.

Cook Hall is a great place to stop and unwind with a few drinks and snacks at the end of the day. Steve behind the bar is the epitome of what a good bartender should be - taking care of everyone with good pours and good conversation. I had a few of the tapas style selections and while they were all tasty nothing really blew me away. My least favorite was the popcorn shrimp actually - a bit to gimmicky for my taste. Overall though this place gets my vote for the drinks, service and atmosphere.

Came here with a group of girls on NYE and it was awesome!! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Our waitress was very helpful and gave great menu tips. The food and fancy drinks were amazing. Not overly expensive either. Great sharing food. Super fun atmosphere!

I went in last night for the NYE party and was really impressed. I really liked Market's food - but I fell in love with this concept. Favorites are the popcorn shrimp (actually made with popcorn), meatballs (yummy!), lemon chicken (perhaps my favorite), Ribs (some kind of toffee or sweet rub- interesting and delicious)! The pimento mac and cheese, cauliflower, and butterscotch pudding are not to be missed! They had a special dessert of banana bread french toast that was amazing. some kind of blueberry jam spread and in house vanilla ice cream. I didn't love the grits..... .and the steak wasn't my favorite - but others at my table really enjoyed it (I am pretty picky with steak - perhaps it was the cut I didn't like. The chimichurri sauce was good). I would also skip the strawberry cake. They have other fabulous deserts - and this one was just ok. Service was fabulous..... and the cocktails were creative and tasty. As a Chicago resident, I loved that they had Goose Island on tap. Bartenders were a ton of fun as well! Overall - I will be back. I was glad to have gone with a big group so I could taste a variety of different things!

I've always liked the W Hotels and last week I was in Buckhead doing business and decided to drop by. I was immediately impressed with everything, the ambience, the service was superb and the food was amazing! I'm a sucker for deviled eggs and these were perfect in every way. My friend had the duck tacos and he liked them so much he ordered a second round. I ordered the Red Snapper and it couldn't have been prepared better. Thanks guys for a great evening!!

I like everything about hotels. I like eating there, sleeping there, meeting friends and finally Atlanta is understanding that there a great deal of people like me that enjoy what they offer. I recently heard about the W Hotel in Buckhead had renovated their restaurant Cook Hall and friends were telling me it was well worth a visit. I showed up on an early Friday evening for cocktails and was pleasantly surprised to see a vibrant bustling room filled with what seemed to be locals from adjacent office buildings and some out-of-towners. Don't get me wrong, I like visitors spending money in our fair city but what makes a hotel restaurant successful are people like me who live nearby looking for a different experience. The restaurant scene in Atlanta is exploding, but for me hotels, or in this case, boutique hotels give me the feeling that I have been transported somewhere else. And I tell you Cook Hall does just that! The re-design was most inviting, the food superb, and I was impressed that the Chef dropped by our table and introduced himself and wanted to know if we were happy with everything. That speaks volumes. I loved the popcorn shrimp, the kale salad, pork cheek sliders and the list goes on. The mixologists behind the bar did a most impressive job with my cocktail (the best darn Sazerak to my memory). If you want a different experience give Cook Hall a shot....

I normally don't leave reviews about restaurants, but I had to after such a phenomenal experience last night. I have been here a handful of times before and the food has always been amazing and the ambiance is great. Very cozy. Most people don't even realize this restaurant exists, but that needs to change! Last night, we had my sister's birthday dinner at Cook Hall and seriously had the best time. There were 6 of us and luckily it wasn't raining so we got to enjoy their patio on Peachtree. Our servers were Jackie and Joe (who we found out later was training and shadowing Jackie, but we never would have guessed!) They both made our night! We ordered several bottles of sparkling wine and they suggested getting the Cocktail Kit. I highly recommend this, such a great idea. So fun and interactive for a group. They explained how to muddle the fruits and encouraged up to experiment with different shrubs and flavors. We also later ordered vodka and they updated our kit for us with different things. Joe even made some cool drinks for us later in the night. On to the food- we ordered over 1/2 the menu to share everything. Both Jackie and Joe gave us their suggestions, which were excellent. We had the burger, black truffle grilled cheese, pimento Mac and cheese, ricotta with honey, popcorn shrimp, kale Caesar salad, manchego cheese fritters, and the meatballs. Cheers to the chefs! We closed the place down! We ended the night chatting with our servers about old school toys and games we had as kids while sharing our cookie cake we brought with the staff. Thank you Cook Hall for a memorable and amazing night! We had so much fun!

This review is for brunch only. The food was either just ok and/or didn't live up to the expectations described in their menu. Service was disappointing too. While our server was friendly, he wasn't very knowledgeable about the brunch menu. The worst part was when I told him my salad was nothing like what was described in the menu, he just smiled and walked away to attend to the next table. CRISPY BRUSSELS SPROUTS SALAD - $8 (plus $5 for grilled chicken) You'd think this salad would be all about the brussels sprouts, either pan-fried or roasted or maybe even shredded like cole slaw. Not just b/c of the salad name but also the description "crispy brussels sprouts salad, gorgonzola, sage vinaigrette." But sadly, the salad was almost all arugula and mixed greens (not mentioned in the menu) and only a very very few brussels sprout leaves. I mean hardly any brussels sprouts at all. And the chicken was dry. What a letdown. And as mentioned before, adding to the disappointment was having the server walk away when I told him there were hardly any brussels sprouts. If they ran out they should've just told me and I could've ordered something else. SHORT RIB HASH - $10 My friend ordered it and honestly I thought it was pretty disappointing-looking. The short rib tasted pretty good but the potatoes tasted like the package variety. My friend thought it was just ok. She also got the Irish Oatmeal and said it was good but nothing special. Brunch is not a strength here but based on the other Yelp reviews, you may want to check out their $5 happy hour specials. Brunch is served Sat/Sun from 11-3pm.

I was a little reserved to try Cook Hall since the previous restaurant just did not thrill me at the least. But fellow yelper Hoa and tried it out for lunch and were very happy we did. We both ordered off the lunchbox option, 2 courses @12 or 3 courses @16 served within 30 min. This is a great option for those working in high traffic areas. My lunch was a butternut squash soup, the pulled pork sliders, and the cinnamon doughnuts as a finish. The soup was great, it wasn't runny but really pretty filling. The pork sliders were also great too, it had a slightly spicy sauce on it. Just a touch so that the taste hits you ever so slightly at the end. The doughnuts were actually donut holes, you know, the middle parts that are left after the donut is stamped out. It was good and were served with a raspberry compote that balanced out the sugary cinnamony coating. I had a bite of the butterscotch pudding, and wow! It was really, really, really, really good! And yet I feel that sentence didn't do it justice. It was just delicious. Take my word for it. It's that good. Definitely will order that the next time I'm here. The service was adequate, but our water went empty a few times and stayed that way before it was refilled. Valet is also complimentary, just bring in your parking stub.

This is a regular spot for me. I've enjoyed the entire menu with one or two exceptions that I've yet had the chance to order. Food is a consistent, high quality fare at reasonable prices, especially considering the area. I'd call it the best bang for the buck on the block for sure. Atmosphere is warm and inviting. Some stand outs on the menu are the scallops with winter mushrooms and sweet pea purée, the pork belly MUST be experienced. Prawns with a warm lentil salad, the amazing sea bass. You really can't go wrong here. If you are a fan of oysters they almost always have the favorable Kumamoto and Kusshi varieties served over ice with a nice cucumber mignonette. They also have a great artisanal cheese board that I always recommend getting, especially to compliment a glass of wine or two from their collection. Let's not even get into how amazing the deserts are. I will say they make their own in house doughnuts, pretty impressive, but the salted caramel butterscotch pudding is irresistible. It really does amaze me how they can do everything so well here and on such a consistent basis. The staff shine as brightly as the excellent dishes and cocktails they are serving up. Malcolm, Chris, are always friendly, pleasant professionals more than happy to go out of their way, found behind the two bar areas. Andrew is a true bartenders bartender and you will find yourself honored to have someone that goes about his craft with such precision, pride and vast knowledge to effect the cocktails and pours you happen to be enjoying if you get the chance to converse with him. The entire staff is amazing. The food is great. The prices are right. Taking all factors into consideration I have to go all the way here with a 5. Enjoy.

Me and my roommates had an urge for non-Buford food on a Wednesday, so we decided on Cook Hall. Decor/Service Things: Restaurant was pretty full when we got there-- no wait, and there was a nice murmur of conversation but not too loud. We were placed in a back-ish corner, which was fine. The waitress came around at a good time, but seemed a little unsure about recommendations and like. My roommate ordered a beer and she poured it so there was about a 50:50 foam: liquid ratio as well. Food and drinks both took awhile to come out. Food: Not very impressed with the food especially given price. I got the cheeseburger, which was okay but not comparable to what I've had at a couple other places-- Industry across the street would be the most comparable, but would also choose Farm Burger and the like over it as well. An oversized piece of lettuce hid the two relatively small patties. Despite the relative smallness, the patties also seemed to be unevenly cooked. I tend to order burgers medium rare (health concerns, yeah whatever) at restaurants, but there were some parts that were clearly more raw than the other. Rant aside, pepper covered up most of the other flavor in the burger-- I like pepper as much as, and likely more, than the next guy, but I was hoping for a more balanced, complex flavor. The pimento mac and cheese was a bright spot. Not too salty, and the cheese sauce was a good consistency. Seemed a little light on the pimento, but that's my only comment there. Tl;dr's 1. Nice: Not a bad place, but a lot of small-ish problems add up 2. Mean: Food and service are lower quality than you'd expect for a place of such price/location

Great spot in a good location. Novel drinks (I had the smoked old Fashioned) and a good selection of beers. Their appetizers are fantastic and the cheddar fritters should be tried. They had a unique grape compote paired with their charcuterie that took a standard dish and made it theirs. Their main dishes did not disappoint. We got a chicken that was perfectly cooked and had very good mixes of flavors blending sweet and savory.

Went here with a Bachelorette party and we really enjoyed it. The decor is rustic with southern elements. The small plates and snacks say they are shareable and even some family style but they really are perfect for 2. We had garlic truffle fries which were great. Just the right balance of salty and crunchy. The pimento cheese mac n cheese was good but not a showstopper. The pork belly pot stickers were tender and had a little kick and ginger, very good. The artisenal cheese platter was superb. Wonderful fresh fruits with a goat cheese, blue cheese and a creamy cheese with roasted pecans, raisin bread and honey. That was lovely. The drinks are pricy. A bourbon drink starts at 10 bucks and most mixed drinks are closer to 14. They only carry 3 cider options and all are overpriced. The table was sturdy and roomy and we had no problems hearing each other even for 7pm on a Saturday night. Our server Kienen was helpful and friendly.

If you're looking for your next favorite local watering hole, this is it! Cook Hall has a fantastic beers, cocktails and food, not to mention you feel very sophisticated just being there. They even had great live music last night and apparently that's a regular thing. So excited to have found this Atlanta gem, will be going back multiple times for sure!

The W Hotel isn't as cool and trendy as they think they are in their own mind; however, the restaurant, COOK HALL, inside the W Buckhead somehow manages to escape the wannabe's and actually become something. Now if only they could get some consistency in the service they could move up to 4 STARS. The COMMISSIONER and I have dined here on several occasions. Each time we have enjoyed the food, and on more than one occasion we have enjoyed the drinks! Craft cocktails are the speciality here, and they deliver! Fresh ingredients poured by people who know how to make a drink. The food portions are small and a little pricy so don't do expecting to fill up like you do at The RED LOBSTER, but you will get quality over quantity. They have one of the best DEVILED EGGS in the city, and the HAPPY HOUR specials bring down the prices a couple of dollars. Valet is available and COOK HALL validates for that, you'll just have to hang out with the wannabes in the Porte Cochere waiting for your car. The decor is a cross between Restoration Hardware and rustic french, yet the 2nd level bathroom transports you to a Buck Rogers theme. It is an odd mix, but somehow it works!

Breakfast here is pricey but so worth it because the ambience is hipster saloon, and who doesn't like eating breakfast in a hipster saloon? The servers practically fawned all over me but oddly wouldn't serve the smoked old fashioned with breakfast - said there was some obscure law but I think the bartender just wasn't there because it was like 7:30am. Definitely can't wait to return to try the smoked old fashioned!

I was really excited to come here for some good beer and apps. We sat at the bar, waited probably 10 minutes before we even saw a bartender. I got my beer, my boyfriend got 3 ounces of what he ordered and was told the keg was tapped. The bartender then disappeared for the remainder of our stay. He was never asked what else he might want in replace of his original order. We had intentions of ordering food but never were offered a menu or even asked anything other than what we want to drink. When a manager came to the bar to take care of other guests I asked her for the bill knowing we wouldn't receive attention for awhile from another worker.

Meeting some friends for a working dinner on a Monday night at 6pm. I'd read about the valet, but was pleased that they took the time to explain that it was complimentary for 3 hours and that the hostess would validate on the way out, but that after 3 hours it was not free and would cost $x (unfortunately, I don't recall what x was...). I asked at the hostess stand if we could be seated by a plug since my phone was dying. She thought for a minute and then showed us to the front corner, where there is a plug on the column. Unfortunately, neither socket was working. Fortunately there was a power strip at the drink and scan station nearby, so I just plugged into that. The place was pretty empty, so I didn't mind leaving my phone a few tables away. Our server was meh. He wasn't terribly interested in sharing the specials. He told us there wasn't a drink special, though when I walked past the specials board again later, there definitely was one. We ordered drinks and then debated the $5 snack specials. We chose the popcorn shrimp, the hummus & olives, and the doughnuts (for later). We did ask for advice about the entrees, and here are our server came through. He recommended the scallops and the pork belly. As my friend ordered the pork belly, he said that she would probably want a side, and she chose the pimento mac and cheese. When the risotto was ordered, he said that it didn't need a side. When I ordered the scallops, he said it needed a side, so I chose the collards. The snacks arrived shortly thereafter. The popcorn shrimp wasn't what I was expecting - small fried shrimp atop popcorn, with ranch dressing on top. The shrimp were nicely cooked to be crisp like the popcorn. While the ranch added nice flavor, I didn't like the sogginess that it added, feeling that the spices could have been added dry to the same effect. I'm usually indifferent to hummus, but this was nice and creamy with plenty of olive oil and paprika, along with some briny assorted olives, and just the right amount of crisp toasts - perfect for sharing. The scallops were good - ever so slightly overcooked with nice herbs and a little too much pea puree. I got a bit of the pork belly, and it was a little sweet, but mostly unmemorable. For dessert, we had the doughnuts (cinnamon sugar with some kind of red preserves/jam) and the smore's. The smores were served in a jar with a LOT of chocolate on the bottom, a few chunks of graham crackers in the middle and some very charred marshmallows on top. Everything tasted good, but I thought the ratio of chocolate to graham cracker and marshmallow was too high. The cinnamon doughnuts were a little tough on the outside but pillowy soft inside. Just right. Overall, I feel that the prices are high for what you get, but there are some nice snacks to enjoy if you're in the area.

This is your run of the mill new bar/gastropub in Buckhead which I am usually biased against but when I went to CH, they did everything right so I can't blame them just because I want to. Cool atmosphere, decent food, and high prices. I don't know if there is anything super special about this place but I thought they cooked the food right. Service was great. I think most people will enjoy it. If you are looking for more "foodie" menu then Holeman and Finch is probably a better bet. As for everyone who is normal and less stuck up about food(dig at myself too!), this is a safe choice.

I'm a huge fan of Cook Hall! I've enjoyed every meal I've had at this restaurant. My favorite though would have to be the crispy organic chicken, served with roasted rainbow carrots and lemongrass honey. The chicken is done perfectly--a super crispy skin but super juicy meat that just falls apart. The presentation is top notch as well. During my most recent visit, I paired the chicken with a side dish of caramelized cauliflower and raisins served over hummus. It's an interesting combination, but it works. The dish really complemented the chicken. I've also enjoyed the roasted scallops in the past--they are served with sweet pea puree and charred honshimiji mushrooms. As far as drinks go, they offer some interesting homemade concoctions. I tried the cream soda--a combination of house made vanilla vodka, root beer liqueur, ginger beer and bitters. It tasted exactly like cream soda, but beware, it was very strong! The dishes overall are well priced and you will leave satisfied. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a great ambiance and a superb patio. The restaurant validates parking up to 3 hours for valet; and if you are looking for a nightcap, Whiskey Blue is right upstairs!

A group of us had multiple reservations for tables during the Kentucky Derby. We eventually put those tables together so it turned out perfect! Everyone was all dressed up and looking great for the Derby! The restaurant had a 'best hat contest' where the top 3 hats won a prize. They had music out on the patio as well! Service was a bit slow but this restaurant was packed so I don't blame them. One of my friends at the table ordered the Crispy Chicken ($18) entrée with a side of Cauliflower ($6). It looked so good that when the server came by I told him I wanted exactly what she ordered. When it came out, I was impressed with the presentation of the food. It was a nice piece of chicken breast covered in a lemon sauce with carrots on top. It was delicious! The Cauliflower blew my mind! It was seasoned cauliflower with raisins on a bed of homemade hummus. It tasted a lot better than it sounded! Every appetizer or plate that came to our table looked very good. The restaurant validates parking up to 3 hours for valet. I would definitely come here again and recommend it!

This was a lovely bar & restaurant in the W hotel of Buckhead. The vibe is upscale but laid back, the drink menu is off the hook and the food is soooo delicious. Duck tacos, yes! Be sure to come during their happy hour when there are $5 options. The s'mores dessert looked like it was to DIE for, but the portions were actually very reasonably sized and priced and we were stuffed after entrees and splitting a side! Service was extremely friendly but the kitchen was slow. I didn't time how long it took for our meal and drinks to arrive, but it was a pretty decent waiting game & they brought out an extra appetizer as an apology. So there's that. But otherwise, I could see myself coming back here if in the area.

Went to Cook Hall for Brunch and menu consisted of the usual "farm-to-table" items of locally sourced ingredients with a Southern twist Decor was rustic with dark woods and metal details. Had the pimento cheese grits and mac n cheese served in cast iron dish. Good place for cocktails. Notice how these generic descriptions could describe any Atlanta restaurant :)

Went for a late lunch with a friend and ordered the scallops for myself, split an order of the truffle fries, then the bourbon ginger. The scallops were delicious. The mushrooms and I believe it was the pea puree? Interesting but yummy combo. The fries of course were great. Left us wanting more! The drink was awesome. I think I ordered at least one or 2 more. The ginger taste wasn't too strong and it wasn't too sweet. Great combo!

While I'm in Atlanta for work I usually stay at the W Atlanta Buckhead. It's nice to have Cook Hall as the hotel restaurant. This place makes a nice cocktail, has a good selection of beer and also offers a nice meal for a relatively reasonable price. The past couple of times I've visited I've had the caramelized cauliflower on top of hummus or the crispy brussels sprout salad. The pan seared snapper and butternut squash risotto have been solid choices for entrees. If you're ever in the Buckhead area around Lenox and are interested in a decent meal with a decent drink for a good price, visit Cook Hall.

Really nice spot right in the W hotel which is where we stayed. It has indoors and outdoors seating and we chose to sit outside. I came here only for brunch. I ordered an omelet with spinach, mushrooms and cheese. It was huge and delicious. We also ordered berries on the side and coffee. The staff is very friendly, the food is priced well and our experience was very enjoyable. Glad that we had the convenience of coming here.

Great place for drinks and food. The bar staff sometimes a hit or miss (why would you put sweet vermouth in an old fashioned?), but the food is consistent and the staff is friendly. Food: try the whipped ricotta.

I had a few thoughts in mind for tonight's date (I shall title him MB, Montgomery Boy) in case he wanted suggestions (he's good with great ideas, but since he'd been with friends in Miami from NYE till today, I figured I'd have some ideas just in case!) came up with a few. Sun was a little hard since several of the places, like Miller Union he mentioned, and a couple I had wanted to suggest, were all closed. We were planning drinks and dinner and he picked me up early, about five. Enter Cook Hall - I had not been, neither had he. I am teetering between 3 and 4 stars but since it was a first visit and we didn't eat, I'm giving it an initial 3. Liked and loved: The decor and atmosphere. I like wood and leather combos when they work, like a welcoming man's den, and this does. (Oh, and they just remodeled the bathrooms so, yes, they will hang mirrors soon!). The manager who came to assist with a wine choice (she noticed that our bartender was having a hard time helping with that and hadn't tried most of those MB asked about) - a great choice to go with the Cain Concept cab/etc blend. Validated parking by the guys who also park W and Whiskey Blue guests. Didn't love so much: Our bartender wasn't rude, but I have pretty high standards for bar staff since I eat out a lot, and often sitting at the bar if alone or with just one other person, and he was just blah, and not entirely attentive even when there were only two or three other guests at the bar. And again, not really well enough informed to answer questions (or explain why Shafer wines and a few others listed on the menu as by the glass or half bottle as well as the bottle were not currently available) and just wasn't a "connection" for me. Having to go to the group dining room adjacent to the bathrooms to find a mirror! Who puts a nice chair in a restroom before hanging a mirror?? Details, people! Not sure about the menu but prices seem reasonable and there were a few things that piqued my interest. Good spot for a date or just to start the night. If the food is good, I anticipate a bump up!

Cool gastro pub and nice atmosphere . Great place for lunch the food selections down to the prices are steal but dinner has the same choices at full price . I ordered the tomato soup which was nice and creamy with a side of beet salad .

Hidden gem inside the W! Best sure you make a reservation or risk not getting in/long wait. No worries if you do, outside bar will hold you over until dinner. Friendly staff

Atlanta has plenty of marginal restaurants but Cook Hall is a stand out. It is inside the W hotel, great spot, great service. Very laid back! Recommendations: hummus starter, blackened naan is nice compliment to excellently spiced hummus. The toasted raisin bread compliments the honey and artisanal cheese tray, and the Salted Butterscotch pudding is addictive. Will be regulars here. Yum!

I made a Yelp account just for this review because it just had to be said. About two weeks ago I went to Cook Hall with my girlfriend for a nice dining experience after not being there since last year for my graduation. The food was delicious but our server (a blonde guy from what I remember) was made me give this restaurant 2 stars. He REEKED like alcohol, cigarettes and WEED, it was absolutely disgusting! It made us think... if WE smell it, other guests must smell it too. It's baffling that management would hire someone like that in their outstanding establishment, his presentation was just utterly gross. I would probably come back again as long as I don't get that server assigned to me and whoever I bring EVER AGAIN.

I had heard about their fun cocktail kits so decided to try this place. I ordered a cocktail kit with my Gosling's rum and the following $5 happy hour specials: Popcorn shrimp: When they say popcorn shrimp, they actually mean literally popcorn with shrimp. As good as this dish was, I found that the base of popcorn with 4 or 5 shrimp wasn't exactly as fulfilling as I thought it'd be. Duck tacos: This was a dish with 2 smaller tacos skewered by a toothpick. I'm glad that they didn't separate the duck and taco part of the dish...The duck tacos were better than the popcorn shrimp but I feel like they could have been a little more flavorful. Cocktail kit: This was the best part of the evening. They seriously do this right as they bring out various mixers, bitters, drink ware, etc so that you may bartend at your own table along with 2 oz pours of whatever spirit you have chosen. The mixers are made fresh in house and can change seasonally. My only recommendation is that do not do what I did and put an excess amount of their Pineapple Habanero thing in your cocktail. Regrets. Service: Good. The waiter was friendly and accommodating, (although there might have been a price discrepancy between the liquor menu and my final check but that's an issue for another time...) Sidenote: Parking is (free) valet only by the same people who park for the W and Whiskey Blue, which might be a little annoying if you like to get your car ASAP after leaving. Verdict: I would definitely come back for the novelty of the cocktail kits, especially since the $5 upcharge can be split among the table. The food is ok but nothing exceedingly spectacular.

Went here to see a friends band. Possibly the worst service I have ever had anywhere. Waiter was notably absent and when he did appear he was horrible. Hopefully my friends band can find better places to play because I will NEVER go back.

A month or so ago, I received an email from Starwood Hotels chiming me in on an upcoming event they had for SPG (Starwood Preferred Guests) members which was a restaurant month showcasing different places to eat with special menus at special rates. This got me intrigued, as I was looking into the Atlanta market to see what was what. I realized that there was a place called "Cook Hall" (which was formerly Market, @ the W Buckhead)- but was too new, as everytime I clicked on it, it would send me to the page of its I assume sister restaurant in Dallas, Texas. Well, it seemed new, and sounded cool- so I booked a reservation for a Wednesday night. Please note the W is valet only (3 hours free with validated ticket, so bring it inside!)- and the MARTA rail line is just down the street. When I arrived, I noticed immediately how different it looked from Market (which used to be pretty much all white with blue undertones). It reminded me of Miller Union had a baby with a Starwood property. We were seated immediately, and speaking of seats- were large, and very comfortable. I knew I could get used to this! I also noticed that the silverware was in a basket at the end of the table (which I will talk more on later). We were given a few menus, that each had their own categories. I heard they have drinks that you can make yourself at the table, but I did not take advantage. However, I did take advantage of the homemade sodas they had- which is a rare sight in a place. I thought that was cool. Note though they are NOT free refills on the homemade shtuff! Everything seems to have been a small plate gig, so we ordered a whole bunch of stuff (see Daniel B's pictures). As I am sitting here dizzy and hungry, its hard to go into detail of each plate- but one thing I will admit- the food here packs a PUNCH. I mean, the flavor profile in each dish was very intense. I liked it, but I could see where it can be overwhelming for someone not expecting it. Confused? Order the chicken, take a bite, and then you will see what I am talking about. It's an explosion! All of the sauces are homemade, and even have a hot sauce that they bottle up. That was great! It tasted like fresh, fiery sriracha. They were nice enough to give us a small bottle to take home! That was cool. Everything I ate was decent, but still leaving me wanting more. The one thing I did notice, was the service- they were very attentive, and did things that you wouldn't really see in a pub fare atmosphere- like covering glasses with napkins so the water doesn't splash everywhere- which was why I was confused on the silverware being on the table in a basket... I personally felt those 2 things do not go hand in hand... I remember getting something for dessert, and that was awesome (there should be a picture as well). I remember it being merigune infused and lots of chocolate. It was a keeper! The only downside was that the whole reason we came was to check out the special SPG offer, but it was never even presented to us, and that is honestly the only thing preventing me from giving this place 5 stars, but I will definitely have to come back, as this is some of the most pungent food in the city!

Cook Hall opened late 2012 on the ground floor of the W Hotel Buckhead. The restaurant replaced Market. I was sad to see Market go because the food was fantastic and I loved the ultra modern design of the place. While the layout of the space remains the same, Cook Hall has completely transformed what was once bright white, chic and stylish surroundings to a darker, more rustic and pub-like environment. Expect vintage decor, old-fashioned Edison lighting, and a dim, candle-lit atmosphere. Cook Hall is a gastropub. One of the unique aspects about this restaurant are the do-it-yourself craft cocktails. You can order cocktail kits which come with tools, ingredients, and recipe cards to make your own tableside cocktail. It's neat, albeit gimmicky. Sharing food is encouraged to the point where a stack of small glass plates and a "toolbox" of eating utensils can be found at each table. Despite the self-serve table settings, high-end wait service is still provided. When drinks are poured, care is taken so not a drop hits the table. Napkins are folded when you're away from your seat. So, this place is a mixture of bar food and fine dining, with emphasis on the latter. Many restaurants, particularly the farm-to-table or higher end restaurants, will describe their menu items to a T. Cook Hall takes the opposite approach. The food descriptions on their menu are deceptively simple. For example, one of the menu items is "Ricco's Meatballs" and that's it. What's in it? You'll have to ask your server. As is evidenced by the foods I've tried here, the foods are not so simple. Instead, they're creative and nicely executed with fine ingredients. Plate sizes vary from small to medium and prices vary from $4 to $15 per plate. Generally, I think one plate can be shared for every 2-3 people. Here's what I've tried: Snacks/Plates/Sides: East/West Coast Oysters with Cucumber Mignonette Chicken Liver Mousse with Grilled Bread Cheddar ale toast with fried quail egg Caramelized Cauliflower with Hummus Spicy Pork Sausage with Lentils and Swiss Chard Pimento Mac and Cheese Crispy Chicken with Lemon and Pepper Sweets: Butterscotch Pudding Stout Beer Ice Cream Sundae Sodas & Shrubs: Fresh Hibiscus Soda Fresh Ginger Ale Soda Spiced Apple Shrub Overall, the foods I've tried have been heavy. I'm not sure if that's the case with the rest of the menu, but it wouldn't surprise me given the type of cuisine served ("gourmet" pub fare). Plating/presentation is outstanding. I don't know where the "East/West Coast" oysters are sourced from, but they are incredibly clean, fresh, and delicious. The oysters are served standard on a bed of crushed ice with a jar of cucumber mignonette in the middle. Spoon some of it over your oysters to add a mildly sour, tangy, and vinegary taste. The chicken liver mousse might be my favorite of the items listed above. The top of the mousse is coated with a thin layer of gelatin made with cognac. The mousse is rich and smooth and while dense, spreads easily over the provided grilled, and presumably buttered, toast. A side of tiny whole pickles also comes with this dish. The cheddar ale toast with fried quail egg is like a Welsh rarebit or open-faced sandwich. Each slice of toast, infused with melted cheddar, is topped with its own fried quail egg. The egg is lightly seasoned with black pepper. Each piece is almost bite size. The caramelized cauliflower is served on top of hummus inside a bowl. Dig in deep when you try this dish or better yet, mix the ingredients in the bowl. All of the true flavors come out that way. The spicy pork sausage is one of the bigger plates on the menu. The sausage is a Northern Italian pork sausage. It has terrific flavor and is spiced well. It's aromatic, reminiscent of fennel. The lentils and chard go great with the pork. The chard is cooked and still holds an appetizing bite. The pimento mac and cheese is served in a miniature black iron skillet, still bubbling and sizzling from the oven. The top layer contains the crispy breading while underneath is the soft and cheesy macaroni goodness. It's an interesting take on pimento and mac and cheese and it works. If you order the crispy chicken, don't envision traditional fried chicken. Yes, the chicken is fried, but instead, it is served de-boned and "filleted." The pieces of chicken sit flat on a plate, much like a fish would. The meat is tender and juicy. It helps that it's sitting in a tasty marinade. The desserts are amazing. Definitely order some. The butterscotch pudding has a layer of salted caramel on top. The stout beer ice cream sundae, which does not taste like beer by the way, comes with crunchy, airy chocolate meringue on top. I also recommend trying their fresh sodas. I was skeptical at first, but you can really taste a difference. The ginger flavor is quite strong in the ginger ale, while the hibiscus soda is mild. Service is excellent. Parking is validated.

Everything from the cocktails to "snacks" to entrees to the desserts was delicious. I haven't had anything I didn't like at Cook Hall. Great for a date or a group. If your date/group is in the mood, you can continue the party upstairs at the awesome rooftop bar: Whiskey Blue. Cook Hall's only downside is that it's a little pricey but I'd still stay it's worth it.

We rolled in late, and I was completely prepared for rushed courses and subpar service. Instead, we got extremely detailed, smart service by Tasha, whose recommendations were second only to her earnest admiration. Cook Hall is clearly managed well to hire that level of enthusiasm and knowledge. My Manhattan made with port and housemade bitters was slightly sweeter than its prototype, with just the right bite for weather turning cooler. Deviled eggs with blue crab: Very good, but the least exceptional dish. Manchego/sweet pea/prosciutto fritters: Rich, deeply flavored appetizer possibly created first in my dreams. And Tasha was fair when she pushed the housemade hot sauce. Got durn. Duck tacos: A dish from the street elevated to something special, the ducky richness cut with plenty of vinegary radicchio. Seared scallops over lentils: "Over a bed of lentils" usually communicates "a cheap enough way to add a starch that's fancier than rice." BUT NOT TODAY. Those lentils... they compete for my favorite bite of the night. So salty and oniony without any flavor overpowering. And the scallops were perfect, though by this point I was less impressed than confirmed in my expectations. Finally, the butterscotch "pudding." I put "pudding" in quotes, because to call it such is just too much of an understatement. Really salty caramel bit right through the sweet cream. And three bites in, the creme fraiche on top added the sourness you didn't even know you were missing. Oh, oh my. And I'd rather have that housemade bourbon/campari digestif than a cherry on top any day of my life.

LOVED this place for it's ambiance, outdoor seating and exotic combinations. I didn't go too crazy but I wish I had more time to try all the menu items. I had a simple chop salad that was done perfect, a rum and coke, and a potato/cheese ball thing that was amazing. This is a must try if you are in the area. Great wait staff too!

Other yelpers have already sufficiently commented (especially Daniel B.), yet a few comments. Very enthusiastic servers, highlighting everything on the menu, and dissing nothing, so essentially not very helpful in that regard. Service delivery of wines needs to be better timed to coincide with meal delivery. I would return, as we enjoyed our food. Not cheap, when you add in everything.

Cook Hall offers one of the best happy hours in Buckead because the house punch and select snacks are only $5 each from 5 to 7 p.m. W Buckhead was already a happening hot spot, and it's now even more popular thanks to Cook Hall. I've visited this Southern-inspired gastropub a few times for happy hour and each time has been wonderful. At a recent visit, we celebrated a friend passing a big exam for her job, and Cook Hall offers fabulous mini bottles of champagne. It was fun to have one of their specialty cocktails and a glass of $5 punch plus toast to my pal. Then at ladies night this week with my favies Elizabeth H. and Laura H. us girls ordered one of everything from the $5 snack menu (side note...whoa...they're both H's now since Laura W. married James H., crazy!) My favorite menu items are the popcorn shrimp with actual popcorn and fried shrimp, duck tacos, radish burschetta (whoever thought I'd like radishes this much!) and deviled eggs. The West Side cocktail made with vodka, lime juice, and mint is the perfect refreshment to cleanse your aura after a long day. A few girls in our party ordered the specialty cream soda floats with bourbon ice cream and said the 80 proof dessert packed more of a punch than the cocktails. Now what would take Cook Hall to 5-star perfection for me is to do a dinner "blue plate" special. I love the bar snacks, but the rest of the menu seems a bit overpriced. Understandably, we are at the W, but wouldn't it be great if there was a $10 or $12 entree + sides special along with the $5 snacks? Regardless, I'll be back to Cook Hall a.s.a.p. for another one of their happiest hours. I still need to try one of their customized cocktail kits where y'all can concoct your own drinks! It's like bottle service but better!

This place is delicious. I've been here twice now and every time the food gets better and better! The ricotta app is amazing and so are the drinks. Tonight I ordered the crispy chicken and it didn't disappoint. It's a shame this place doesn't get more love... I think the fact it's in the bottom of a hotel hurts it. Try it! You won't be disappointed.

If i could give 3.5 stars i would. Like a lot of reviews, the cocktails were good but overpriced. Duck tacos were very delicious. Charcuterie and cheese plates were yummy. Ambience was just Ok. Would I go there again? Ehh too many other restaurants out there to try.

I had the black truffle grill cheese and tomato soup! Great afternoon snack! Service was good, although it seemed they had to make an effort to be nice. Maybe something was going on that day, who knows. The restaurant reminds me of something off the beaten path in the L.A./Hollywood area. I will go again.

My sister was in town and I rarely have an excuse to go out to eat in Buckhead, so I figured this new spot was the perfect place to bring the whole family for dinner. I'm amazed that this is in a W, as the decor is so NOT the W. Instead of the uber modern clean lines and Virgin Airlines-esque purple lighting, Cook Hall is warm and cozy... dare I say, rustic?! You can park your car for free at the valet (up to the 3 hours) and the entrance to CH is toward the front of the hotel, around the corner from the lobby bar. They've got a big bar themselves, and the menu to match. A nice sampling of craft beers and a small but interesting cocktail list. I wasn't seeing any special cocktails that called to me, so I asked if they could concoct an Aviation. The first one I had was spot on, while the second was a little heavy handed with the creme de violette. Not a huge deal, but I'll probably stick with the cocktail specials from now on. The menu is a la carte and all designed to be shareable. Read: small portions and kind of overpriced. Our table ordered the popcorn shrimp, homemade ricotta flatbread, the burger, shrimp and grits, cavatelli, crispy chicken, broccoli rabe, and the potatoes and mushrooms. I sampled pretty much all of it, and the standouts were the popcorn shrimp, flatbread, shrimp and grits, and the chicken. I would order all of those again without hesitation, despite their small portions (namely the chicken... it was just kind of a sad sight to see some sliced chicken on a platter). Our waitress was also nice enough to bring out deviled eggs while we were deciding on our orders, and they were delicious but chock full of crab, so if that's not your thing, be aware. Our server was friendly and on the ball throughout the evening and it was overall a solid and tasty experience. I'll definitely be back to try the cocktail kits and more items from the menu.

After getting a bad opinion of this place from a friend, we decided to try it solely because it was the only place open close to our condo during the Snowstorm of 2014. We were pleasantly surprised! You never know what you're going to get from hotel restaurants and that's very true with the W. This place is great! I wish I could enjoy it in the summer and the patio because it seems so nice. The food was very good and they have a great wine selection. Try the hanger steak and potatoes!

I found this restaurant on thrillist app and wanted to check it out. I showed up around 7 p.m. and it was pretty empty, but I was happy to see the interior. It is extremely cozy and pretty!! Our waitress Sasha was very nice. I ordered duck tacos, shrimp n grits, and cauliflower with hummus. Unfortunately I really didn't like the tacos- I don't know why; there was something off about them, but my friends like them!! Maybe just this kind of duck plate doesn't match my taste buds. My shrimp n grits dish was much better. I liked the shrimp, the grits were just so so, but overall it was a good dish. Cauliflower with hummus side was very good- pretty interesting combo! Overall I liked the restaurant- pretty good food and people working there are also very nice.

I really like Cook Hall. During the week, specialty punch and snacks are $5 each from 5-7. We ordered at least one of everything on their 5-7 menu: roasted radish bruschetta, popcorn shrimp, pork belly sliders, duck tacos, and pimento mac & cheese. I'm sure there were some other things on the table, but I was too focused on my pimento mac & cheese to notice. Once you're in Cook Hall, you'll forget that you're even in a hotel. They do a really good job of differentiating themselves from your standard hotel bar & restaurant. Our server was attentive and made dining with a large group easy. They'll also validate your valet parking, so you don't need to worry about that. Now I just need to go back for a piece of the strawberry cheesecake layer cake that I was drooling over on my way out...

Cook Hall is a new restaurant located at The W Hotel on Peachtree. They have valet parking and the restaurant is located in the lobby. I went with a group of friends and we all enjoyed our meal. The service was great and the place has a cool vibe. You really don't feel like you are in a hotel lobby. For dinner I had one of their specials, a Kobe Wagu steak. It was excellent. Other people enjoyed the burger, hanger steak, salads and some appetizers for the table. It was my friends birthday and they comped us a piece of cake. Nice touch.

We were invited to a patio event at Cook Hall by our building via a facebook event they posted. My husband and I were excited to check this place out since we had been meaning to eat here but have never had the chance. Since the patio event said it would be from 3-7 and they'd have free small bites and drink specials, we thought it would be great to walk over and check it out for 30 minutes. Unfortunately when we got there, we were told the patio event was cancelled due to weather but they were passing around small bites inside. We got seated and saw no small bites. They re-seated us and pestered us to order drinks and small plates when we told them we were just here for the patio event and to try the food. They bought out the tiniest small bite ever and then asked us again if we were going to order drinks. I asked if they had drink specials like they advertised and they said no. I honestly felt like I was being harassed by the server when in fact the restaurant did not uphold the event that they advertised. They kept asking us for tickets as if we were lying about being invited by our building. Our building never mentioned having to have tickets to attend. We left shortly after because we were so frustrated. To put things in perspective, our entire building got invited to Del Friscos a month ago. They put us in a private room, gave us a plentiful (and constantly refilling) set of appetizers and flatbreads, and had dedicated servers to take our drink orders. We were never asked to order off the regular menu and that night pretty much everyone ordered drinks. I think if a restaurant is going to try to promote itself, it should follow the lead of Del Friscos and NOT Cook Hall who basically promised things that were never delivered. Honestly can not see this place lasting more than 6 months and am so disappointed with our experience that I will not be coming back.

Subpar at best. I'm not one to write reviews on Yelp, but given the previous reviews of this restaurant, I feel compelled to share our experience. Went with 3 other girlfriends on a Saturday night to have a longer dinner to catch up and the place was empty. The server was nice and attentive, but was relatively awkward and noticeably inexperienced. We ordered cocktails and then about 10-15 minutes later, before the drinks arrived, we placed our dinner order. The drinks arrived, which were the best part, then the dinner arrived shortly thereafter (within probably 5-10 minutes of each other). The timing was very awkward in general, as we had hardly had time to have a drink before the food arrived. The dinner itself was very underwhelming. The gnocchi, which two of us ordered, reminded me of something that would be included in a TV dinner that you would have the babysitter feed to your 4 year old: microwaved, bland, and extremely small in portion, especially for $17 a plate. We also ordered a side of the broccoli rabe, which had a strange / unappealing taste and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours after being cooked: equally as disappointing as the gnocchi. The two other members of our party ordered the duck tacos, which were dry and unappetizing, and the chopped salad with shrimp. Specifically, the salad consisted solely of lettuce, shrimp, and dressing. The shrimp itself tasted both unusually fishy and like it came from the frozen food aisle of a gas station. In addition, salad itself was so overdressed that it was inedible. In short, save for a few bites, none of us actually ate our meals. We chatted for about 10 minutes until a bus boy removed the plates. Our waiter came to check on us shortly thereafter when we informed him of how underwhelmed we were by the whole thing (he hadn't checked on us while the food was actually there, so he didn't notice that we didn't eat any of it). We explained the scenario in full and he apologized, offering to get us a desert for free. We politely declined, saying that since we hadn't eaten dinner yet we would rather not have desert. He then brought the bill and charged each of us in full. I must say, it was hugely disappointing to have to shell out so much money not only for a meal that I didn't eat, but for a meal that I probably wouldn't feed to my dog. For the price of this place, there are plenty of other great places in Atlanta offering much better food with the same type of atmosphere, if not better. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant...especially since we ended up going to McDonald's on the way home. No joke.

Underwhelmed and overpriced. Limited menu. Tries to be small plates tapas without mix of menu items or interesting shareable items. Full entrees approaching $20 per are sparse, a la carte portions. Ended up spending $100 on 2 drinks, a salad, a soup and 2 unsatisfying options. All through the meal looked out the window at Maggiano's and del Friscos, far more interesting at similar total cost. This could be a great neighborhood pub with a better menu, bigger portions, lower price, and skipping buckhead traffic. So many better options, especially in. Buckhead. Leave it for captive hotel guests.

I stayed at the W Hotel and went for breakfast, fruit was fresh and loved the fact that the orange juice was all natural/fresh squeezed but the rest was just ok. Service was good though

Had breakfast here because I was staying at the W. The bacon, egg, cheese & tomato sandwich was off the hook!

Cook Hall is a great place to go to have some drinks and share some small plates with friends. I was really impressed by their make your own cocktail kit. Essentially you order your liquor and add on the cocktail kit for an extra $5. The kit will vary based on what type of liquor you order as they try to pair different kits to the liquor. My drink was amazing and I was blown away! Ok, I realize it may be one of those situations where I talk a big game and I may not be as good as I think I am. As a result, yeah I made the drink and it was one of the best ever! It was probably better than if one of their bartenders made it (I already warned you I could be a bit overconfident with making drinks)! One cool thing about the kit is that it comes with a little book that has different recipes to give you inspiration. You can add your own recipe if you think it's elite. So obviously let me you tell you how to find my recipe so you can have the best drink ever! On page seven in one the books, you can find "The Young Buck". I was contemplating about not giving up my secret, but I realized everyone should have the opportunity to recreate "The Young Buck" at Cook Hall! I wanted to make sure I was very precise with how to recreate the masterpiece so I'm confident that when I used the terms a lot, a little, and some that you'll know the exact measurement for that. So I ordered the Bulleit Rye and in the kit that came with it included fresh mint , rosemary, blackberries, raspberries, tonic water, passion chili, something called spiced apple shrub, different bitters, and the tools needed to make the drink. I think Cook Hall would lose potential business if I shared my exact recipe on Yelp so instead I recommend you stop in and try it yourself. Another cool thing about the recipes in the book is that if it's really good, it might be featured on the chalkboard! If I walked into Cook Hall one day and saw my recipe on the chalkboard or somehow being featured, I would feel like I won an Oscar and I might consider retirement. Alright let's talk about some really good food. The best dish I had that night was the crispy chicken with lemon & pepper. The seasoning was potent and just very flavorful. I also enjoyed the cheddar ale toast with fried quail egg. The fries and the grits that we ordered were also very good. I personally wasn't all that excited for the Nutella torte. I could eat a whole jar of Nutella as it's so amazing so I was pumped up for the torte but I was indifferent. I look forward to going back to Cook Hall to create new masterpieces! One last tip, the reality is that your initial drink that you make may not come out as intended. I was just lucky to be born with the artisan skills needed to craft perfect drinks. If it doesn't initially work out, my advice is to keep pouring some other stuff in and it's doubtful it may work but probable it may completely not work! You'll just have to try again. Good luck.

Well thought out menu, that allows you to pick and choose. Fresh, local ingredients, vegetarian friendly and interesting menu for everyone! Good drinks and wine list as well. Comfortable atmosphere with friendly service (thank you Natasha!).

This was my first dinner in Atlanta, and by far one of my favorites in recent months. Chef David's passion for his craft shows in the menu. The dessert menu shouldn't be missed, especially if you like butterscotch pudding. For lunch, have the fish sandwich - so good and not at all heavy.

The deviled eggs and crispy peppers are delicious. I went with two other girls after having several drinks in the lobby bar. I had the strawberry basil fizz to drink. It did not disappoint. They aren't super crowded during the week, which is a bonus. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes.

Yum!

I have never been treated so well. The GM at this restaurant is remarkable. He went above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service. The food and drinks were fresh and simply amazing. Every attention was giving to detail on taste and presentation. This place is a refreshing surprise !

I give this gastro pub/hotel restaurant a 3.5. I was staying at the W Hotel and after getting in late and having a workout I wanted something easy, good and light. The hostess was MIA so I walked in and grabbed a seat at the bar. I was quickly greeted by the bartender, who was helpful in providing his recommendations, and took my order. Since I was in the mood for something light, I ordered the mixed greens with lemon vinaigrette and the crispy lemon chicken. The mixed greens were nothing special- just simply a green salad with a few tomatoes of which I could easily make at home. The crispy chicken however, was very tasty. The sauce was delicious and the chicken was crispy. I also have to give mad props to the house hot sauce. I am a hot sauce addict and am pretty picky as well when it comes to good hot sauce- when I have hot sauce, it better be SPICY but also perfectly balanced! This house hot sauce was indeed spicy and very tasty. I really enjoyed it. I recommend if you are staying in the hotel and need something quick or for a happy hour. Not sure I would make the trip to the restaurant otherwise.

Oh ma ga! Tried 7 different dishes, and with each bite I thought, 'no, this is the best one!' Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to Cook Hall. Very fairly priced for the cuisine. Awesome atmosphere for any group.

Been here twice so far and am already planning on heading back again next week! First time round was a private event at their party space upstairs called attic. Nice little room that seat at least 20 easily I think, even more if its a mixer standing type event. they had their make your own cocktail kit which was fun. Parking is valet and validated so thats good. The second was for happy hour drinks at the bar. Their punch especially the bourbon one was fantastic and the appetizer plates were delish - loved the bruschetta, deviled eggs, the mac n cheese. Also like the decor - something about that dark wood makes it very relaxing and casual. Service was friendly and everything we ordered appeared to arrive pretty fast, or that might be the bourbon punch speaking! Overall , a great experience and I know I am headed back!

Cook Hall is an American-gastro pub at the W Hotel in Buckhead. They are focused on small plates and beers. Environment/Décor : I like how nicely designed the place is. They even have a nice patio with a fire pit outside. Everything is brand new and furnished. They even got nice stylish bathrooms upstairs. Service: No complaints here. Server kept on checking back with us. Food selection: It's a small plate type of restaurant. Even though we came here for drinks, I didn't see anything on the menu that interested me even if I was hungry. Wine/Beer Selection: They don't have a wide wine selection but they do have different varieties of beer if that's your thing. This is the type of place where you care more about the atmosphere and the décor than what the food and drink is like. Give it a 3 and half stars (Yelp you need to have a half star rating!). I'm not dying to come back to this place.

TL:DR; I should have brought a clean pair of pants. Overpriced but exceptionally delicious cocktails, highly flavorful food served small and simply but with attention to detail, and quite nice decor. Great date spot. I had suggested we go to a different spot for dinner, but my dining companion told me that a cocktail she'd gotten at Cook Hall a scant one week ago was so good that she needed to have it again. This is a lady who knows her way around a muddler, so I swallowed my skepticism of hotel bars and went along. I am ever so glad I did. When you enter, the decor may leave you stuck between the impression that this is merely a glamorous whitewashed hotel bar and that it is a hip place to be seen. Since the cocktails are overpriced regardless of their being very good, both may in fact be true. They smoke their old fashioned and serve it in a sealed mason jar to keep said smoke in, but really, just buy yourself a blowtorch and block of maple/hickory/etc instead of spending $14 on whiskey, water, sugar, and smoke. The Newton's Complex is too thin for something listing bourbon and stout as its prime ingredients, but the real standout that I had was the Fall Out -- a punch with a delicate mix of sweet and sour, tangy and bitter, refreshing and fizzy. Simply excellent. The Velvet Underground is a complex must-have if you like a touch of chili in your libations. Turns out they serve food as well. Manchego, soprassetta (IIRC), and split-pea fritters were soft and perfectly complimented by their house-made hot sauce in magic-potion bottles. Scallops were properly seared and just a touch overdone in the middle, but still delicious in a bed of spiced lentils. Roasted cauliflower was a great match with their hummus, and I am informed that the apple pie is fully worth it. Definitely a place I would be willing to drag myself back to Buckhead to patronize.

Stopped in here for a weeknight dinner while we were visiting family for the holidays. Even though its in the W Hotel I love the atmosphere - kinda gastro pub meets saloon but not in a tacky way, just the right touch of hipster. Usually I think of Buckhead as a place to get a good steak or have dinner with parents, clients etc, so I was surprised by Cook Hall. I've been on a whiskey kick lately so I tried the Velvet Underground for my cocktail - yummy, complex and strong. Loved it! My husband had the Smoked Old Fashion - which arrived to the table with a bit of pomp. Our server infused it with cherry wood smoke (which was captured in a mason jar.) I love that sort of thing so I was impressed. Food was great as well. We filled up on a delicious and generous charcuterie plate and then ended up only having room for some crispy duck tacos w. chipotle slaw. They were also very yummy! I can't wait to return to drink and eat more of the menu items. Will definitely return when I'm in ATL in March!

Really cool spot in buckhead. Great food and drinks - highly recommend the deviled eggs, mac and cheese and popcorn shrimp. I haven't had a chance to make it out to the happy hours yet, but I can only imagine that the drinks are good (they make their own syrups, etc).

Good luck.

Went there on Saturday night. We had a chicken dish that was so salty one could barely eat it. The veggies not that great either. Service was good

Well thought out menu, that allows you to pick and choose. Fresh, local ingredients, vegetarian friendly and interesting menu for everyone! Good drinks and wine list as well. Comfortable atmosphere with friendly service (thank you Natasha!).
