I had the sweet and sour chicken for lunch and have to say its the worst i had in my life. I am never going back again.

Of the restaurants in area that serve Szechuan cuisine, I come here most often to order the smoked tea duck. I have never asked, but I presume the use of camphor wood is what gives the duck its smokey fragrance and flavor; it is good. Fried or steam rice accompanies the entrée. I usually order fried rice and per my request the restaurant adds green onion. I may try the Peking duck or another item from the menu on a future visit, but the smoked tea duck is my favorite.

This is the real deal. Now there is a non-Chinese menu and I can't speak to that. But if you order off the Chinese menu, you're in for a treat without having to go to Buford highway. I'll definitely be coming back up here (when visiting my father-in-law).

I have been coming to Dynasty for months and finally taking time to write a review. I'm really delighted by the consistent high quality of Chinese food under the new owners. My friends love coming here with me. Even if you haven't had much Chinese food in the past, this place has something for you. For folks who expect authentic Chinese food, you'll find top notch ingredients all fresh and seasonings are perfect or order to your liking. If you love Ma Po Tofu, you can order it the American style, or ask for the Chinese style with special spices that will numb your tongue the way it's made in China. Peking duck and whole fish are fabulous and always made fresh If you are new to Chinese food, try the Mongolian beef. Sweeter and tasty and not spicy. Or try a chicken dish - Kung Pao Chicken authentic style. You'll be delighted. Ask them for suggestions and they'll make you feel right at home. BTW - No MSG is ever added. That's important for me. Their soups are fantastic. If you like less spicy food - try the Chicken Corn soup for 2. WOW! If you like Hot/Sour soup - this place does it right. They also have the standard Won Ton soup with the top end thin noodles so you'll be happy if you are a Won Ton fan. I've eaten Chinese food in San Francisco and New York and they do not have anything better than I can get here in Alpharetta right around the corner. Whenever we feel like eating out, this place is first on our list because we are never disappointed. Oh, one more thing, if you like bread, order their Sesame Onion Pancakes. It's delicious and unlike the name it's not a "pancake" its really soft bread with a fabulous crust covered with sesame seeds. It comes in a thin or thick crust version. Enjoy! You won't be sorry. The owners are really nice and friendly too and they make you feel like you are important and appreciated. I found their Facebook page with full menu in the photos. facebook.com/pages/Dynas…

The best Asian food any where! Not Chinese fast food, no MSG, all fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection

Even though I am from Taiwan, I am still a sucker for the "Americanized Chinese food". It's hard to find a clean Chinese restaurant and this place is one of the cleanest out there. One of the best "American Dishes" would have to be Orange Chicken. Honorable mentions include: string bean with chicken, basil chicken, Now onto the signature dishes: Don't miss out on their sesame and onion pancake, 3 cup chicken, drunken chicken, smoked duck, (translates to: ants climbing a tree - vermicelli with ground beef and other various spices in there) and their beef noodles. If you like spicy food, just request it to be spicy and you'll get it! So if you're sick of going to places where the portions are so small, you have to eat with a toothpick, give this place a try! They do have big portions.

The food is rather decent. Not excellent, just decent. We had Salt & Pepper Squid, Ma Po Tofu, Shi Zi Tou (Lion Head), Bitter Mellon w/ salted Pork (it's an acquired taste kinda dish), Onion Pancake, and Seafood Soup. They often bring out 2 small side dishes before bringing out the main course. I'd like to give it a visit - every now and then.

We went tonight, Christmas Eve. (Hey, I'm Jewish, that's what we do on Christmas!) The food was "ok," kinda on the average side. We had the orange peel beef which was super bland. Seemed fresh enough and we saw plenty of orange peels but still on the bland side. We also had the shrimp with eggplant. This was more of a four-star dish. Lots of shrimp, a fairly good sauce. They have a kids menu which is a bonus since we have kids. All in all, a 3. Mighta been a 2 1/2 if Yelp did that!

Stumbled upon this place after first going to Simons and seeing that it was closed. This place looks sketchy on the outside, but I decided to try it out given the positive reviews on Yelp. My server was attentive and nice and suggested that I try jalapeño chicken if I liked spicy. (It was not on the menu BTW). I also ordered egg drop soup and egg rolls. The egg drop soup was tasty and hot. The egg rolls were just okay. Maybe a little doughy for my taste...but the jalapeño chicken was excellent. Light, slightly sweet and smoky (via bean paste) brown sauce with onions, green peppers, and fresh jalapeño. Perfect combination of slightly sweet and spicy. Chicken was lighted fried with a nice crispy, caramelized texture. Very tasty! Bernadette, the owner's (who is also the chef) wife, came to my table to meet me. She asked my name and then called me by name after that. She explained that her husband does all the cooking, doesn't use any MSG, and only uses white meat chicken and fresh ingredients. She was very nice...thanked me profusely for coming in. Highly recommend. ..much better than Simons. Can't wait to come back. Next time, I will try something off the authentic menu.

Don't forget to order the Chinese pancakes! (and order them as soon as you sit down, because they take a while to make) This restaurant features some Hakka-style cooking. Their lamb dishes are supposed to be their best dishes, but try the beef stew and the egg omelet dish too! *Also, they can also make ma-pu-doh-fu with real "ma la" (the stuff that makes your toung slightly numb).

The food was pretty good, but the service was HORRIBLE! I went for lunch with a group of 4 co-workers. There were 2 or 3 other tables who came around the same time, and it appeared to be too much for them to handle. They had 'authentic chinese' dishes on special, but the waitress wouldn't explain and told me I wouldn't want them. The cook didn't cook the food by table and therefore the waitress brought a couple of dishes to the other tables and then a couple of dishes to ours. The last 2 people in our party didn't receive their order for another 15 minutes and another 10 minutes after that. As we prepared to pay, she looked over us, asked us to wait and then took care of another gentleman behind us. Needless to say, I will never be back!!

The best Taiwanese restaurant in Atlanta. The hostess is really nice. She always recommends great dishes based on what they have in the kitchen. The owner is very friendly. He comes check with you when he's available. This is not like some Panda fastfood restaurants that serve salty American style Asian food. They cook authentic Taiwanese food. It's about 20 miles from where I live. But I visit there every few weeks. My favorite is fried shrimp omelet.

I think the other reviewers are pretty dead on with a 4. I like the place and keep coming back, but it isn't the best. I like it mainly for certain dishes. It is a pretty modest place with not so good lighting, but it is pretty solid food. The people are also pretty friendly and personable, but I think it helps if you speak Chinese. It is a place with a lot of regulars and they'll begin to remember your face if you come here a few times. Food: Things I rather enjoy here are the duck, which has a great smoky flavor, the lion's head meatball (not really made of lions for those who don't know what I'm talking about), and the thick sesame breads, which a couple people have mentioned. (They are a bit greasy and filling but quite good) The duck is quite a large portion so it is more for family style, but if there aren't many of us eating, I like to take the rest back to make a nice soup. One thing that I didn't care for too much was their fish. I haven't had very good luck any of the fish dishes unfortunately.

We get take out from here at least once a month if not more. We are huge fans of the smoked duck and the green beans with tofu. We love that they have Traditional Chinese fare as well as Americanized Chinese fare. We also opt for the traditional and have loved trying new things. The owner is wonderful, especially for repeat customers and is always sending us soup or something extra. We love it!

Good, not great food. Slow service, but very nice folks. A conundrum in dining. Not worth an extended trip to eat at, but a decent place for locals who don't want to drive far.

I'm so sad! This was almost my new go-to for Chinese food but something has gone wrong. Service is so very, very good. Staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful so I hate updating my review negatively. The first couple visits were great and food was great. I believe I even commented that the egg drop soup was terrific. The last couple visits' food quality had degraded significantly. Gelatinous soup, fried rice that wasn't actually fried (it was gooey rice with vegetables added). One item was served to us completely burnt. I just can't see us coming back.

I'm a pretty forgiving Yelper but the experience I recently had at Dynasty Chinese Restaurant was just WAY below average, and quite frankly gross. I was looking for food on Easter Sunday and found Dynasty Chinese open. Based on reading other Yelper Reviews I thought I was in for a treat! I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp, paid $1.00 extra for the fried rice, egg drop soup and it came with one Crab Rangoon and one egg roll. I also ordered an appetizer order of the Crab Rangoon. Upon entering the restaurant I was overwhelmed with the smell of burning grease. There was literally a smoke in the air it was so thick. It's like when you go to the Waffle House and you sit at the counter and by the time you leave you smell just like a waffle! I left smelling my clothes and hair of fried Chinese Food. So not the best first impression. There were only 2 tables of people, not surprising though as it was Easter Sunday. And I saw that as a bonus that the service would be fast and the food would be fresh! The staff was very nice the lady that took my order and the other one that brought it out. They started stapling the bag shut so I felt like they had really checked my order, although not at all a complicated order. Take out rule number one and I break it ALL the time! CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!! Had I just done this much of my disappointment and surprise could have been avoided when I got home. Ok first problem. I ordered the Sweet and Sour shrimp. They did it correct and just put the fried shrimp with no sauce in the container BUT they also put it on top of a bed of huge chunks or RAW bell pepper and onions! I'm not a fan of either but the problem is that because the shrimp were sitting on them they absorbed all the flavor or peppers and onions that just completely overwhelmed the shrimp. Not cool. As I was looking in my bag I found my egg drop soup, my egg roll and my order of crab Rangoon. But as I found myself to the bottom of the bag they didn't give me any sweet and sour sauce for my sweet and sour shrimp! So now I'm thinking OK so I'm eating dry Onion/Bell Pepper Shrimp! I did find one small ramekin size sweet and sour sauce that was for my Crab Rangoon and I thought GREAT at least I have some sauce that I can just be sparing with it! Well I opened up the container to find a big black hair sitting on the top of the sauce!!!!! The lid went right back on that and off to the trash!!! I'm now starting to lose my appetite at this point wondering what other "surprises" I should be on the lookout for!! Well the shrimp from what I could see was good, although not deveined so I was doing some picking of some black wads in the batter. Again with the overbearing taste of onion and peppers I just couldn't appreciate the shrimp. Dry crab Rangoon wasn't too exciting. The crab taste was there but nothing earth shattering. I paid $1.00 Extra for Fried Rice that had NOTHING in it. Not one vegetable nothing, I mean it's just steamed rice with soy sauce, why charge extra for that?! Egg Drop soup was good, nothing different. I then moved on to the Egg Roll. I decided to break it in half first feeling a little bit paranoid after the hair in the sauce. And I must say that it was a very good thing that I did because the inside of the egg roll was completely raw!!! The dough was just pulling apart like a can of biscuits it was raw!!! What the heck?!!! I took a picture so you can see if for yourself. I couldn't bring myself to take a picture of the hair in the sauce, too disgusting! If this restaurant was SLAMMED with people I could MAYBE understand them forgetting my sauce. But there was NO ONE there, which makes me VERY suspect of the laziness in the kitchen from hair in the sauce to raw egg rolls!!!! I'm sorry but for $23 dollars (because I left a $3.00 take out tip) I'm not going back again.

Can't say enough about how friendly the owners are at this place! And the food is great! My friend and I were walking around during snowjam 2014 looking for food. We called and they said to come on in. We didn't know that they are normally closed on a Tuesday! But they fed us anyway! The food was MUCH better than another local Chinese place that I had regularly ordered from. So now that Dynasty delivers, they will be my Number One pick! It is authentic Chinese and Sichuan food. You won't be disappointed!

I gave 4 stars because I rarely give 5... But this was good, really good. We ordered delivery (they deliver now) and we got their: Crab Rangoon = 6 of them and in the "angel" fold instead of the boxy one- which I like better and there was a lot of the filling and it didn't appear to be just cream cheese- was pretty good. Shrimp fried rice- another review said to ask for bean sprouts because they don't come automatically but when I asked for them- the lady said "extra bean sprouts" so maybe are included now. There were a lot of big chunks of medium to large shrimp. It wasn't too greasy either- it was probably my favorite dish. Chicken with Cashews- My mom ordered this and of course I tried it, it was very tasty. She liked it a lot. Sesame Shrimp- Which wasn't on the menu but they made it for me. It was good- the sauce was good and the shrimp was still a little crispy which is hard to pull off with delivery. It had a lot of broccoli but a good amount of shrimp for the price. Oh and they gave us four free egg rolls since we had already ordered the shrimp Rangoon- those were good too. All in all- I'd have to compare prices to Pearl Li-An to see which is cheaper- if this is cheaper, and I want Chinese and not thai or sushi, then I'd choose this place. We'll order again for sure. Suggestion though is that I wish more Chinese restaurants provided pictures of their dishes either on the menu, their website, or even on Facebook... it's so hard to order if you don't know what half of it is- I always end up ordering the same dishes. I don't know why more of them haven't thought of this idea.

I went there with my family, and really enjoyed the experience. The restaurant was not loud, the service was very good, and so was the food, We had dumplings, lo mein, beef noodle soup, egg rolls, and more. Everything was very good. One of my children is allergic to nuts, and they had multiple food items without nuts, which was nice. The portions are a but large, so dinner yesterday will also be dinner tonight :)

Great service and fantastic food this was my first time ordering from here I was 20 cents short of they're "delivery price" and they still brought it out to me. Didn't expect much from a Chinese take out, but was shocked in quality of the meat and flavor definitely recommend this place as your next Chinese take out or delivery.

Very unique Chinese restaurant. Original dishes you will not find in other places. Try the Crispy Chicken with Jalapeno. Excellent service and friendly staff. They also have Taiwanese fare.

First I have never given a restaurant one star even in the worst food but this was extraordinarily bad. I don't know where to start the hot tea was water and then I ordered shrimp with broccoli and it was essentially steamed broccoli and shrimp absolutely no flavor or any kind of sauce. I don't know where these four star ratings are coming from I really feel sorry for people who think this is good food. I'll be going back to Simon's. They weren't open today.

While I have been to this restaurant multiple times, I always forget to blog about it. However, it is truly a great gem to eat at. The portions are fairly decently sized for the price. Staff is definitely friendly and very personable. I would definitely recommend family style though. There are a few dishes that you can order for yourself, and their lunch combos are of course individualized, but for dinner or for a group event, the best way is the family way. Here are a few dishes that I thought were a bit interesting: Pickled potato appetizer: their appetizers are fabulous. This one is a favorite of mine particularly. They have taken potato and shredded it but instead of cooking it, they preserved it and pickled it. I've never seen this before in any other chinese restaurant. It's not too sour or acidic and yet not too sweet either. The potato is still fairly crunchy too. I could probably eat two plates of this especially if I was hungry. Salt & Pepper chicken: I personally would not get this dish too often, not that it isn't tasty but it isn't what I am used to nor expecting. For one, we got it because there was a youngster with us that day. But even then, this is not what we expected. For one, it is nugget style. It is not compressed mystery meat but real chunks of chicken. It is more expensive, but then again, for the younger and more "Americanized" generations, this is the Asian version of the Chik-fil-A chicken nugget. It's not bad, but it's not what most of us expected. House tofu with vegetables: I honestly love the way that this tofu is prepared. It is fried on the outside but then served with a (yes very corn-starchy) sauce and vegetables. Normally my family would ask them to put very little salt and no MSG, but today it was still fairly light and clean in flavor. Tastewise though it is fairly yummy. Will definitely be back to update when I get more pictures and dishes. More gibberish food and dish details on rammiegirl.com .

I tried to place an order for delivery on Sunday at 1pm. They told me I am too far away for how busy they are but to call back later. Never heard of this before. They are four miles away.

We came here for a family dinner, and the food was amazing. My boyfriend does not eat spicy food at all, but he had so many spicy dishes because they were sooooo good! The staff was very friendly and the service was great. Can't wait to come back!

yes, don't forget to order the Chinese pancakes! My wife and I enjoyed the dinner tonight, sounds like best Chinese restaurant in Alpharetta/Johns Creek area, serving authentic Chinese food. Far from my work so we only tried dinner. Have to recommend, so good.

Went to Dynasty with a small group today, and sampled their Si-chuan-ish cuisine. At a good price point and moderate decor, its a rather pleasant place to eat and chat. Their northwestern styled thick sesame breads were moist on the inside with excellent, zesty flavouring. Other highlights were their onion pastries and egg pancakes. Their mapo tofu was neither numbing nor spicy-- so a bit of a disappointment. Portions are generous and service seems reasonably prompt... Overall 4/5

We moved to Georgia about 6 months ago. We accidentally found this restaurant. And let me tell you, we don't and haven't been to any other Chinese restaurant. This place is so awesome!!!!! The owners and the food service is grand. But most of all, the FOOD. .....WOW......so amazing!!!!!! They have two types of menu, one regular and one real Chinese style. Let me tell you, both are awesome! Any dish that you order, you will not be disappointed. So love this place! We go at least once a week. For sure 5 star!!!!!

Went back again after it has had a new owner. Decor has a new face as well as the menu! We ordered hot and spicy sliced beef as appetizer, grounded beef soup, sizzling beef with peppers and onions, broiled fish with chopped red hot chili peppers and black bean sauce. Every dish has own unique taste. We particularly liked the fish dish albeit it was spicy. The texture of fish was super, tender and opaque. Definitely will go back again.

Like a prior reviewer had noted, this restaurant does have new ownership. The decor hasn't changed too much, but the food has. We ordered to-go tonight, and ordered authentic Chinese dishes: Sichuan Eggplant and Boiled Fish. The pricing is fair and the food tasty. However, I was disappointed in a couple of things when I opened my to-go bag. Maybe it's the Asian in me and my need for rice for survival, but two dishes should deserve two portions of rice, not just one. And, my biggest pet peeve of all time is when a dish is listed under "vegetables," but comes out vegetarian than cooked the right way. My Sichuan Eggplant had the right flavor, but where was the minced pork that traditionally comes with the dish?! Luckily for them, there is a lack of authentic Chinese restaurants in this area. I would consider this restaurant as my cheaper alternative Chinese restaurant to Lin's. Half the price, half the portions, have the quality.

I came here for dinner and the menu was NOTHING like those in the photo. There was less selection and much more expensive. The food, however, was quite good. They gave us free dessert too!

Just as an FYI to prospective readers, this restaurant recently changed management back in March 2013. The new owners, the chef and his wife, have revamped and re-energized the place as you can tell from all the recent Yelp reviews. The staff are super nice and accomodating. Also, contrary to what the description says, this place does deliver, cater and does have wifi (again...because of new management haha) The food is good and there is a menu for Americanized as well as traditional Chinese food depending on what you are in the mood for (I myself fancy a mongolian beef or lo mein once every blue moon!) Anyway, if you are in the Johns Creek/Alpharetta/Duluth area, definitely give this place a try. It may look sketch since it's in a shopping complex with a big parking lot, but most good chinese places are and you won't be dissappointed!

Very good. Had the beef noodle soup, which is hard to find in this area. They had a whole menu of traditional items. And the owner was very friendly.

This place has long been my "not far from home Chinese place". They have in fact changed hands and a few updates have been made, but pretty much the same place. The food is consistently good, nothing special or worth a drive to check out, but if you live in the area and your other choice is Simon's or Sun Shine....then I would pick this place hands down. I have a special place in my food heart for the previous owner because she was awesome, but the new owners are very polite and helpful with menu suggestions and upgrades to more traditional Chinese fare as opposed to the common Americanized versions. I have tried several various dishes over my 5 year patronage of the place and each dish comes out exactly as you would expect. Lo Mein: Is the thicker noodles that resemble fettuccine noodles, so if you were wanting the thinner version then specify. Fried Rice: Has egg, carrot, peas, onion and its slightly more sticky then some places, but the flavors are there and its not overly salty. Sometimes the ingredients will vary based on what they have on hand, but I have never seen bean sprouts in the mix, so if you like them added in you will need to specify. Apps: All from freezer bags and although fine and certainly not bad...there is nothing special about any of them at all. Soups: Nothing bad, but all standard. I like the Hot and Sour the best. Fried/Crispy: The batter is never really thick or too mushy or greasy. Its pretty consistent with most good Chinese places. Veggies: Sometimes these will vary based on each meal and so be flexible, they are always fresh though and I don't care about what all is in there as long as its not old and I am aware that veggies are seasonal. Standards: Carrots, Green Peppers, White Onions, Broccoli. Pricing: Is standard and consistent with the demographics of the area. It's cheaper then the listed places above, why those places think they can charge more is beyond me when they serve the exact same thing.

The owners are extremely nice and attentive. During the snow storm, a friend and I were walking around in the snow looking for a place to eat. All places had closed so I decided to phone Dynasty before walking there. They said to come on in - once we got there, we realized the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday, but the owner took us in and her husband cooked a great meal for us - Loved the authentic Szechuan chicken he prepared! We also found out they now deliver!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
