I have been a customer for years ad my kids love going. But lately i have noticed a very disturbing trend. The hostesses flat out LIE when you call and ask if there is a wait. This has now happened several times. I call to see how long the wait is and they proceed to tell me "there is no wait for a party of 4". I arrive 10 minutes later to find an hour plus wait.. where there are 15 groups of 4 ahead of me.. some who have been waiting for 40 minutes already!!! Don't believe what theu tell you on the phone. LIES..

I moved out of state years ago, and have been longing for Saitos since the moment I left. Yesterday was the first time in six years I was able to order my beloved Olympia roll. It was just as amazing as I remembered it. So much so that I will be back tonight for an encore.

Had dinner here tonight. The restaurant looks much nicer since the renovation and is definitely much larger. The food was ok not great. I prefer the Boynton location to this one. The chefs season the food better and you don't have to worry about them switching the seasoning on the chicken to teriyaki sauce which has happened to me here a few times.

Save yourself some aggravation and don't waste your time at this location. The staff is horrendous! Very inattentive to customers and hardly ever smile. Doesn't help complaining to the manager because he is just as rude. Also, the grill and surroundings just look dirty. Cannot imagine what the kitchen looks like. Do yourself a favor and go to the CityPlace location.

First time at this Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse. Was very happy with the chef, the portions are reasonable and food was great. Some of the staff seemed as if they didn't want to be there. But overall I would return.

This place used to be really good but ever since the renovation it has been starting to go down the ranks This used to be my favorite place ; (

I love the Saito's in Cityplace. Since I was in Wellington, I decided to have dinner at this location. It is not at all like the Cityplace. The grill was dirty. There was old rice around the edge and when the chef passed the rag over the range, the rag was disgusting. Someone at our table mentioned it so the cook gave it two more passes. I mean at least he tried but that set the time for my meal. Second vice, the bathroom was yuck. Smelled bad looked dirty. Ew. I won't go back, period.

This is probably my favorite resteraunt on earth. I come here when I vacation in Florida. The steak, chicken, and seafood hibachi is excellent. The rice and vegetables are amazing too. I suggest mixing the vegetables and the rice together, and pouring the white sauce they give you on top. Before the meal they give you a soup and salad. I always order an extra salad in addition to this because it is so good. The rennvovations to this location are great. It is a great resteraunt and is not to be missed!

Soup and salad were not nearly as good as the traditional hibachi restaurant and it took 35 min for a cook to come to our table.

Recently renovated! It's like a whole new restaurant! I've always liked habachi and with Saito's so closer to my home I was very excited to try it out a while back and was very disappointed. The place was greasy, (and I don't mean the food) we were packed in like sardines and the food was just mediocre. Now it's a completely different experience. I've been there twice since they renovated, once for sushi and once for habachi. The food was excellent, cooked perfectly! The place is spacious and well ventilated. The sushi was fresh with lots of selections. Would recommend to anyone

Absolutely delicious! I love coming here! I've come multiple times with friends, and we've NEVER been disappointed. However, I've only ever been here for the hibachi grill, so my review doesn't apply to the other part of their service/menu. I'm sad to see that fellow Yelper Richard didn't have a pleasant experience, but I think that either his particular chef didn't take care of his grill, or the restaurant noticed their need to improve cleanliness and took action. After reading his review, I took a close look at the grill we were sitting at when we went last night, and it was immaculate before our guy started cooking, including the corners and "gutter" food trap. (I posted a pic I took right when he started cooking.) Our chef also thoroughly cleaned the grill after he was done. Whenever my friends and I plan to come here, we usually try to avoid weekends because there will usually be a wait and it'll be packed. It's a very popular place, but they DO take reservations. Plus there's a Cold Stone a couple doors down for dessert!

We love Saitos and have been to the City Place and Gateway/Jog location, always had a great time. This location, not so much, the food was ehh, the tables were pretty dirty as others mentioned and our server was horrible, she had a personality of a snail. I definitely would not return to this location again. If you want Saitos go to City Place, way better atmosphere and service, but our favorite Hibachi restaurant is Kimora on Boynton/Congress, waaayyyy better food, larger portions and service is phenomenal.

This review is for the regular menu; not the hibachi. I ordered the tataki for my appetizer and it was really good. It was also visually appealing. They took a few pieces of tuna and made it into a pretty rose, almost too pretty to eat but I ate it ALL!. (see my pictures) Also i had the millennium Y2K roll which was also very good. Everything we ordered at the table was good and the service was fast but nothing that really wowed me.

I had a fairly pleasant experience at Saito's. Came here for my anniversary in the early evening around 6 pm. The service was good, the food was good (especially the soup), and the prices were on par with the industry. I have no complaints although nothing really stood out to me; it all seemed like your typical hibachi dinner. My personal recommendation is to go the the CityPlace location since the ambiance is way better and you have something to do after dinner.

I am a frequent diner at this location of the Saito's chain. Recently renovated, this Japanese hibachi restaurant serves good food in a fun format. While the waitstaff is almost always rude, rushed and uncaring, I have found the Chefs to be great fun and to take charge of the table as a Captain does his ship. The Chefs seem to truly care whether you have fun and are intent on making good food while wowing you with their knife tossing, onion poof volcanos and shrimp tail flinging. I found the Chefs to be just as well skilled or more skilled than those at better known venues. The chicken hibachi is a good value but the food does take rather steep price hikes from there. There is a sense of a cattle call to this place. While every restaurant needs a good table turnover, the rushing should not be obvious to the patrons. There is no nicety to the order-taking process as a distracted waitress looks past you while barking out your choices. If you want some sushi to go sailing with your hibachi, ask for the separate sushi menu. Note that the kids portions are very generous and not too much smaller than an adult portion. If you are not into hibachi, they do have a section with regular table service. I agree with the other reviewers that the Boynton and CityPlace locations have better service but the food is good at all three. The Coconut Creek location is also good.

Just had dinner at Saito's. We sat at the Hibachi and the food was good. The Hibachi chef was good but the waitress had a serious attitude problem. She frankly just disappeared after she took the order. I had to ask the chef for a fork since she was MIA. Also, we never got our water refilled or asked it we wanted another drink. It also took a very long time to pay and get out of there. This was our first time at this location and compared to the experience we had on Glades it was very dissapointing. Its wonderful when the food is great but good service is very important. I will not be back to this location .

I fun place to go with friends and family. The food and service was good. The only down side is the servers didn't smile.

Quickly seated. Good food presentation. Good portions for Hibatchi. Steak, chicken, lobster, and shrimp cooked appropriately. Rice had nice texture and flavor. Vegetables were fresh. Not sure what was in the soup but I believe it was onions. Salad was a bit bland with the ginseng dressing. Never was asked if I wanted a drink refill though I have realized that almost all restaurants like this one is the same. Waitress disappears after seating customers and giving drinks. Expected but no appreciated. Had an 18% gratuity added to my bill even though I paid for myself. I was with two others that paid their bill together. Somewhat odd. Overall good dining experience and would visit again.

Now this is harsh - because it is harsh! OMG... this place is filty! We went there with a table of 10... two families with kids. In a nutshell, here is the problem with the place. They have too many Habachi tables jammed into a small space. They apparently never service the overhead ventilation hoods and the greasy smoke is blowing everywhere. The cooking surfaces had scuz in the corners, the table tops are filthy, even our plates were dirty. We asked for all new ones... and those weren't much better. I then get up to go to the bathroom to wash my hands, and Triple OMG, when did they last clean the men's room? 2007 maybe? Then the guy comes out with the food cart. Again, filthy... our food - raw fish- was on the bottom shelf on top of more filth. Then the guy is doing his cooking sthick and pushes all the veggies into the corner with the scuz. I then observe him knock a piece of steak into the grease gutter they scrape everything into the hole... what does he do? He sticks the spatula into the gutter and puts it back in the pile and serves it. We ended up sitting with our seats pushed 3 feet back from the table to stay out of the smoke and just drank bottled beer and didn't touch the food. Anyway - Stay away. They need to get the health inspector over there. I added some pics with my phone so you can see for yourself.

The Saito in City Place is West Palm is one of my favorite local restaurants. Unfortunately, this location does not live up to the reputation of the others. The place is gross. I have been there a few times and it is always so dirty on the floors, the ends of the tables etc. I live right near this restaurant. If you want a great atmosphere, go to the one at City Place, for the best quality food, go to the one on Congress in Boynton.

Used to love this place until they started over charging to compensate for the construction they will do in the restaurant.

The low scale of Benihana. We enjoyed our habachi dinner and the sides. They cook the food right in front of you and it's pretty cool the stuff they can do with it. They make a volcano out of the rice and start flipping eggs in the air. I'm a fan of the beef and the chicken. They give you a bunch of sauces to dip it in. One of my weaknesses is rice and they give you a LOT of it. I never come home with it because I would eat it all by the time I go to bed ;)

Saito's in Wellington is much better than the one in City Place. The Wellington location was cleaner and the service was faster. Our waitress wasn't very sharp but overall I'd recommend this location. The food is excellent as always.

Perhaps 2 stars is a little harsh? I think not. The two stars are for the quality of the food and the service I received when I dined here not too long ago. The server, a teenage boy who couldn't have been more than 18 years old, looked particularly irritable and cranky....He spoke to us in a bitter monotone voice throughout the whole evening, never cracking a smile. And he forgot my soup!!!! He was not attentive, for we had to wave our hands in the air numerous times to catch his attention. We ordered the sushi platter (assorted sushi pieces) and the y2k roll. The food was depressing and mediocre. The fish did not taste too fresh (except the tuna) and the rice was extremely dense and chewy. Even the salad looked like it had sat in the bowl for a couple days, because I had picked out shriveled up pieces of iceberg lettuce that were inedible. It took them nearly 20 minutes to bring out the edamame (soybeans) I ordered. Overall I wasn't satisfied. In the west coast, restaurants like these would not survive at all. I believe what keeps this restaurant thriving are the customers who consistently order teriyaki plates, fried rice, and other hot entrees. Sadly, I don't judge japanese restaurants on their fried rice and teriyaki because any goddamn asian establishment can make fried rice. I can make fried rice. These 2 stars are for the sushi and service.
