Pei Wei is what people outside of huge cities call Thai food. Being from New Jersey, I had never heard of Pei Wei until a trip to Austin, Texas then forgot about it, because it was forgettable, then stumbled upon it again in Wellington, Florida. Obvious, the lack of Asian-Americans helps Pei Wei stay in business in these areas because realistically, this food was...American. White girl with tattoos taking my order behind a digital menu. That was kinda funny to me when I walked in. My girlfriend and I sat down after ordering and had to wait a few minutes while teenage waiters searched for me in the restaurant while carrying my food. Unfortunately, the searching took a while and my food came out a while after my girlfriends. The food? It's alright. If you have been to a legit Thai restaurant then this food is really basic and Americanized. That's not a problem to me, but I was probably expecting something a little more for Pei Wei. For lots of people, Pei Wei is probably the shit. For me, it's just an imitation.

Service was quick. Food was good. Portion size has shrunk is size. The coke machine did not have the selection that I wanted available.

I never thought I'd rate Pei Wei this low, but they have developed problems. The 2 biggest complaints are over-sauced food and cleanliness. Yep. I love flavor-FULL food, but all 3 of our entres either had too much sauce or the sauce was too intense. Tons of salt and sugar. Also, bathrooms dirty, dining room had several dirty, yet cleared tables. My bet is that the problems stem from inexperienced staff/management due to high turnover. If I'm wrong, ok, but I think I'm right! C'mon PW!

The reviews of this place are uniformly bad which is surprising. We have always had good food and found the place to be clean enough. Did not visit the bathrooms but cannot imagine they, and the restaurant floors, are as bad as noted. The order taker is not rude but not exactly friendly either; some customer service training would be a welcome addition with all of the employees. No one makes much of an effort to make customers want to come back but no one is rude either Pei Wei is accommodating about additions and deletions to dishes ordered. The food is served hot and fresh and the pricing is reasonable. I would give them 4 stars but the noise factor is an abomination. The music is too loud and we will not return because of it other than to get "take out". Blaring audio is an "in thing" now and supposedly appeals to the millenials. In Wellington, the guests are primarily working people and, more than anything else, young seniors and seniors will NOT tolerate the decibel of music played in many establishments. It is seniors who eat out 7 days a week and have the time and disposable income to frequent area restaurants. Even the "young folk" cannot converse with the noise level at this PEI WEI. This is a shame because we find the food delicious and the menu appealing but it is adios Pei Wei for us after 33 visits since mid 2014. We can deal with the employee issues and do not find that to be a serious detriment but the LOUD LOUD audio is a deal breaker for us, and sadly, for many others.

After so many times of repeatedly eating here, I was disappointed last monday, June 8th. The lettuce in the lettuce rolls was wilted and red, almost looked like it is a year old. Add to that, the sushi spicy tuna roll was bland and had no flavor. Forget the "spicy" part. The Dan Dan noodles which are usually very tasty, were also no good. When I called to report them, they said the manager would call back. No call back shows nobody at pei wei cares about it. Sad because this was one of my goto places for lunch.

Food is usually good. Got crab wonton for the first time today and it had pieces of crab shell through the food... Called the shop and was on hold for more than 5 mins so I hung up. Lettuce wraps (traditional) are the only thing I order here and love!

Awful!!!!.... I thought that ordering a party platter from them for the super bowl would be a good idea....NOPE!.... I called a day ahead of time to order a 32 piece Crunchy Ahi Tuna Roll platter in which they said it would be ready at 4:30. I arrived at 4:28 and not only was it not ready the chef had a NASTY attitude arguing and belittling the girl at the counter that was trying to see if my order was ready. She was informing him that the order was incorrect and not enough rolls in the platter AFTER he threw the platter up on the counter for her to bag. So since he had to correct the order he SNATCHED the tray back and put the correct amount in the pan. NOW the presentation of it was so unappealing Publix sushi looked better than what I paid for. Very disappointing to say the least and i've been there before and the service is usually great...but not yesterday... :-(

Pei Wei No Wei! Emotionless counter girl tasteless food. PF Changs should be embarrassed to have there names on this. Can get better asian food at mall food court. I wouldn't return for free.

Definitely one of the BEST options in the area. It's pretty inexpensive for the food you get, quick, freshly cooked meals and can definitely be a healthy option if asked for a few modifications (brown rice, salads, extra vegetables, TOFU instead of animal protein and very light sauce) Has always kept clean despite its time! Finally, phenomenal customer service, always wanting to please you!

So let's recap: they advertise that they are fresh and fast. Fast: Ordered online and they said our order would be ready at 5:35. They took our money as soon as we ordered and there were only 2 more orders up, but we ended up waiting almost an hr with a cranky toddler before we ever got our food. Staff was disorganized, the kitchen was a mess and there were at least 3 staff members to each customer but they still couldn't get orders out and when they did most people had issues with their orders. Fresh? Not so much. Watched them take noodles and ingredients out of plastic bags and give them to people to cook - they looked pre-cooked. My egg rolls were cold and sitting in an oil slick, and everyone's orders either had something missing or were cold. Needless to say we won't be going back. A total waste of food and time.

Kind of disappointed to see so many negative reviews on here. I always try to stay objective on reviews and gear them towards an audience that is trying to determine if they want to eat here for the first time. There is not a lot of variety on their menu, but if you're in the mood for some Chinese noodles or rice with a few variations of chicken/beef and whatnot, then this place will make you happy. Not too pricey, typical SoFla $7+ bowl of noodles/rice, but it's totally worth it. I find their chicken lo mein delicious and their rice a little dry for my taste. Their crab wontons with the duck sauce are THE BEST that I've ever experienced (that dang orange sauce Makes that appetizer). Coca-Cola freestyle machine, nice ambiance, fast-casual service that puts them a level above fast food but not so fancy that you feel obliged to leave a tip. Absolutely check this out for lunch one day if you're in the mood for Chinese noodles.

Delicious food, fast, and clean store. Been going here for years. I love that I can order online. The manager Jon is amazing and super helpful. The Pad Thai is my favorite. Also try the pork egg rolls and chicken lettuce wraps.

4 months later unfortunately there's been a sharp decline in both quality and service. We loved this place and would come here at least once a week and have been noticing that we've been enjoying our meals less and less. I had to update my review because this past experience kind of pushed it over the edge. The girl that they have working at the front couldn't care less and asked me what kind of rice I wanted in my pad Thai noodle bowl, so she probably wasn't even listening to me. Then my food comes out and we wait a good five minutes for the other dish to finally arrive. Then as I'm eating my pad Thai, I start chewing something very crunchy. Come to find out there are egg shells in my food. They have that fancy coke machine, but a lot of them are unavailable and the ones that are are lacking carbonation/syrup. The rice noodles on the other dish were as hard as rocks. And the floors were very sticky, dirty. Very disappointed, this was our go to place and now it really stinks.

Disappointing in a word. Dirty tables and chairs. Lumpy lo mein and fried rice was so over sauced it looked like rice soup. Bad experience, never going back.

In my mind, I was expecting to compare this to PF changs which was my first mistake. The Korean beef lettuce wraps I got were 4 stars, off to a fantastic start but it got lowered 1.5 stars for the worlds WORST edamame. It was still green and that was all I could say for it. It was stone cold, completely unseasoned and all the sauce was sitting in a cold pile at the bottom, despite me shaking it to mix. Also, when a customer comes in and you're having a personal conversation on the phone, it's advisable to put it on hold to help them. Another .5 off because i eventually did get helped. I will go back in hopes the service is better but I will avoid the edamame for now on.

This location is horrible. Slow service and not very clean. Condiments were not well stocked.

I've eaten in many different Pei Wei restaurants in Florida and along the east coast and the most disappointing facet of this chain is the lack of consistency from store to store. With that said this branch is by far the best I've eaten. The food is consistently good to great, the staff friendly and the portions seem larger than they are elsewhere.

This place is OK as far as fast food goes. The price is reasonable, but the service is sub-par. The food is fine if you're starving, but it isn't memorable, that's for sure. They do not keep up with cleaning tables, making utensils and condiments available. It's kinda like the Magic Kingdom when they have "Extra Magic" hours and the place is run by the local middle school students.

I went to this Pei Wei with my fiancé one lunch while shopping for wedding stuff. I was so disappointed in this Pei Wei. The ladies bathrooms was worse than a highway truck stop. The floor was covered in what smelt like urine, one of the two stalls was "out of order" and had to be what looked like a clear garbage bag over the actual toilet. The one stall was out of toilet paper as well, and the sink was soaked along with paper towels thrown everywhere. We dined in the late afternoon, there was probably 7 tables out of the 20 tables that were being used and it was an absolute struggle to find a clean table. Nearly 99% of the tables were dirty and/or covered in old food. There was 2 wait staff sitting at he bar area of the kitchen area eating and another waitress bringing food once it was finished. The food was also disappointing here - my fiancés lo Mein came out with warm meat and cool noodles in a very "slopped" display on a plate. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this Pei Wei.

Having tasted several other Thai Fusion restaurants, I can tell you this place is on the bottom of the list. Acceptable to those who never eat Thai or Japanese, unacceptable to those who have. If you honestly like this place over authentic Asian restaurants you should check yourself. A positive note, this place can easily feed a family of four for under $30 considering they have online discounts every quarter of a year it seems.

The diner selects menu is a good choice if you are on a budget. I settled for the honey seared chicken with lo mien and a spring roll. I didn't want to take home leftovers and the portion was enough for me. The soda machine that is there is freaking awesome. Coca cola has really went over the top. You select what kind of soda you want with a push of a button and it offers different flavors on top of the one you choose. The minute maid orange lemonade was like being on crack and very addicting. The staff didn't rush my girlfriend, her newborn baby, and I out the door when we were done, which was nice since we were there four hours chit chatting. Ah, I love friendships :)

Pei Wei is for casual lunch, don't expect more than that. And they took away the fortune cookies!!

Order online and you don't have to wait... Great gluten free menu selection and they understand GF service!

Very substandard Asian fare in a modern setting. Over-priced for the quality and quantity of food. Support your local take-out joint instead.

Excellent, reasonably healthy food for the price. I particularly like the brown rice. It just tastes better than most. Pei Wei is Asian influenced American fusion, and not Asian food. So don't go looking for authentic Asian food.

Had my first experience here today, it was eh. The service was slow considering it wasn't really busy for a Pei Wei during the lunch rush hour. I ordered my food to go. I was told it would take 15 minutes, which was fine. My food was done in 5 minutes, but I waited the whole 15 minutes before they handed my food to me. The person packing the food couldn't multitask so I sat and watched my food sit there on the counter and not under a heating lamp getting cold. When my food was ready, they were about to pack it when a customer walked in to pick up their order. It was fine that they helped the customer first, but it took about 10 minutes to help this customer with their large order. The customer asked for a whole bunch of stuff, and while the packer stood there for a while waiting for someone to bring her ice and crispy noodles they could've spent a minute packing my food so I can go on my merry way. Not that I was in a hurry, but if possible get the customers their food so they can get to wherever and eat. Not making another trip to this Pei Wei, rather drive to the one in Boca.

The food is good but the utensils and plates are dirty. I have a hard time everytime I come here finding clean dishware.

Was there recently during the saturday dinner rush. Long line with only one cashier helping people who was also seating people. Another person was only doing take out which made no sense since we were lined up out the door. Food was fair. Had much better experiences at pei Wei's at other locations. Wellington is not the bastion of wealth and high society that they think it is and the service here just fit right in. Wouldn't go back to this one.

Gluten free sweet and sour chicken is tasteless. Gluten free chicken salad wraps are yummy! And cashew chicken ( not gluten free) is really good!

We decided to check out Pei Wei after we received a coupon in the mail for a free Japanese Chile Beef Ramen. Needless to say, once I got there I wasn't in the mood for it, but I did get it to go and they let me substitute chicken for the beef. We stopped by on a Friday night, and it was completely dead inside, maybe 3 or 4 tables. You ordered your dish when you walked in and then sat down. We tried the Thai wonton soup (pleasant flavor), but our entrees (spicy chicken and spicy Korean with Tofu and vegetables) were horrible. They were laden with sauce and the vinegar taste was so overpowering, we barely made a dent in them. I love leftovers, but I wasn't even tempted to bring this dish to go. I did try the spicy ramen dish the next day, and it was doable, but it's definitely not going to get me to come back.

It must be a guy thing because my daughter and I go there often and have never ( NEVER) have had a bad meal. They are all polite, food is fresh, and hot, and just delish. This is a franchise of P.F. Changs!

this place is an absolute joke! we walk in and notice over 15 tables with heaps of garbage on top of them, and none of the tables were bussed and cleaned up. we order and then get wonton soup served very cold. then i get an order of rice, served very cold again. we try and try to get anyone's attention and the workers walk around like they don't care. i finally was able to get these two dishes re-ordered to me, but it was a little too late. go to PF Chang's and spend a little more as you will be glad you did. why go here for a dirty restaurant, cold food, crappy service and sub-par food quality? the thai noodle dish my girlfriend had was just terrible.....if their entree's were just $5 a plate it would still be an awful deal.....why bother with this place...it's run like an absolute joke of a restaurant. we will gladly not be coming back here...

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
