Good place for bar food. Day we came, they had entertainment out on the patio. Was fun time. Portions were HUGE! If you order the blue cheese burger, ask for extra blue cheese crumbles. They use a confusing "slice" of blue cheese... not bad, just odd. The meatloaf sandwich was enormous and enough food for 2 people or one Paul Bunyon sized person.

Can't believe I forgot this location! On the water. Oldies music super friendly service with hot waitresses. :) Its right in the heart of downtown Tavares and you can fly your plane there, park, and walk a block to lunch. Huge portions, and lots of options. Seasoned fries, mixed green salads, and a full bar. This area of Tavares is like Burbon Street in New Orleans. You can walk from bar to bar to bar with your open container.

We stopped here for something after an away volleyball game. The place was q.u.i.e.t. The service was quick and efficient, but they weren't doing anything else. My hamburger was definitely better than fast food, but nowhere near as good as home. The girls had alfredo, which was bland.

Very fun atmosphere! My husband and I enjoyed the live band on their deck with a lake view. Drinks were great and food fresh .

I went to Ruby Street Grille for the first time last night. We went for dinner and ended up staying well into the evening listening to the live music (Rick Merrill). The food was acceptable, my husband and I both had burgers, but I felt like overall the menu was a bit on the pricey side. Our Server, Mike was attentive, but not up in our face. He was quick to replenish an empty beer. And a really nice friendly guy. We sat outside, enjoying the weather the music and conversation. I think Ruby Street Grille is a nice piece of the Tavares Entertainment District and I'm sure we'll be back - just after we've already eaten.

Came here after riding the train with our kids, it was a gorgeous day and we wanted to sit outside with a view of the water. They had some live entertainment in the form of a guy with a guitar who was pretty good. He gave my son a guitar pick which was totally awesome of him. Our waitress was great, our food came out a little slow but we were enjoying the weather so no big deal. The spinach artichoke dip was fantastic and a very large serving. My husband had the fish tacos which were really good, but since there was only two of them he was still a bit hungry after. I had the BLT, its kind of hard to mess up a BLT so it was good. My husband and I are both big clam chowder fans so we each ordered a cup...it was kind of gross. It didn't have a lot of substance and the broth/soup itself tasted off. Our kids enjoyed their kids meals, a burger and a hot dog. They had toys for them to play with but we never needed them. Overall, a decent place to stop if you're in the area and want to enjoy the live music and pretty view.

This place has a great atmosphere. There is a nice view of the lake if you sit on the back patio. The food is good enough (although only tried apps: calamari, nachos, spinach and artichoke dip and chicken lettuce wraps). Much better tasting than most bar-food. The calamari was surprisingly good, the nachos were huge and hit the spot, the lettuce wraps were tasty. The spinach and artichoke dip wasn't that great. But my biggest complaint would be about the bar itself. They offer garbage as far as beer on tap, and not much more when it comes to the bottles. I believe they offer 11 beers total, maybe fewer, and the only import I can recall was Heineken. The service you get is the same as the service you get at a bar/restaurant. The more you show your face, the better the service will be. Cheers!

Ruby Street Grille has breathed life into sleepy Tavares-the menu is varied -not greasy bar food, but good soups and salads as well as the burger and fries combo-and fried pickles. its nice to sit on the patio, listen to some good live music, watch the sunset and chill out with a cocktail

Good service, good food. Everything we tried was good. We sat inside and were pleased with the ambiance and choice of music. I will definitely keep it on the short list.

We have eaten at Ruby Street a number of times and I am sad to say it is not as good as it once was. We sat on the patio for Sunday lunch along with only three other tables! We had an appetizer of the burger sliders which were supposed to be well done. Although tasty, they were not cooked evenly, a little piece of meat between well and medium. I ordered the Caprese pizza, unfortunately they have switched to a flat bread crust with a basil pesto sauce instead of the hearty crust with fresh basil they used to serve. By the end of the dish the crust was soggy and the topping a congealed oily goo. My companion had the turkey club sandwich. It had an unexpected flavor of garlic or herbs to it. The toasted bread was placed against the ingredients instead of on the outside of the sandwich losing the crunchy feel one would expect. Our server was Donna, nice and as attentive as she could be as the solitary waitstaff. One final lament regarding the downward spiral of this restaurant, I soooooooooo miss the wonderful desserts they used to serve!

This is one of my family's favorite go to places. The live music is always great, the service is always fast and the food is always amazing. My girls love it because they can play in the sand while we wait for our food, and my husband and I love it because the atmosphere is fun.

Wow! This is the best place around! From the food to the music! The people really make this place happen! The beer is always cold and the view is great! Some old traditions from Western New York, great wings and beef on weck! A.B.C.

Decent food, but too many flies competing for a bite.

Across the street from Wooten Park. My burger was perfectly prepared. Although, what made the evening was a live band, Blue Stone Circle, performing outside under a covered patio. Chrissy, my server, was so cheerful and saw to it my drink never ran dry.

Went back to Ruby Street with some good friends. Service was immediate this time. We had Turkey Sandwiches, Pizza, and Fish n Fries. Everyone was very satisfied with their food, I had the fish, it was cooked correctly, not to heavy, no bad taste or smell through the whole filet. Guessing it was a third of a pound. Good sized portion. Drinks were generous. Price was good too. Waitress was by our table, guessing more than 8 times to check on us (Tarah?) . It was a busy night and the servers weren't heavy on their feet. Rest of the details. Tidy outside, clean inside. No sign of critters. Restroom layout is very good with room for those with younger kids. I was looking for folks who had not been served. I didn't see any. We arrived at 8 PM, so we hit a peak time.

Had a great time. Sat on the patio. Impressed that they have water bowls for dogs. They were able to adapt an item on the menu for my special dietary needs. Definately will go back.

I'm a fan. The food has always been good and the service is usually awesome. Depending what night it is you can sit out on the deck and listen to live music or enjoy to he quiet of the inside. Never had a complaint and will be back when the mood strikes!

Ate here with my family and brother and sister-in-law over our spring break. I give the atmosphere 4 stars. Nice outdoor patio for eating and drinking. Indoor eating area was rather drab. My wife and I both had the Ruby burger with seasoned fries. My daughter had the grilled cheese and fries. I would give the food 4 stars. It was good, decently priced, and arrived fast and of adequate temperature. I've had better, but I've also had worse! Happy hour drink prices were also adequate. Draft beer selection was minimal. The atmosphere makes this place. I would assume this place is rocking on the weekends. There is a great view of the lake from the back patio. I would go back here again.

What a GREAT stop while in this lovely part of Florida! The weather couldn't have been any better, and the outside deck to sit and enjoy lunch was just what the Doctor ordered (Spring Break Doctor that is!). You can tell these people love food - the blackened scallops were a nice light bite. My husband is from Buffalo (so is the owner of Ruby Street Grille), and their Beef on Weck was excellent! Paired that with a couple of Ice Picks (ask a fellow Buffalo friend what that drink is), and we had ourselves a delicious and relaxing lunch visit. Thank you to Chrissy for the attentive service too.

I love Ruby Street Grill They seem to have different things going on every night, from Big Bands to Karaoke. The staff are very friendly and attentive, the food is good, but the best part is sitting out on the patio on the lake- it's reminiscent of Key West. They have 4 different areas- the outside patio under the sky, an under-roof outdoor bar/dining area, a small and intimate indoor bar area with a couple of tables and a nice romantic dining room. They also have nice artwork adorning the walls. Great ambiance on the inside as well!

Service and view are very nice. Food, not so much. We dined here because it has a nice deck looking out at Lake Monroe and was perfect for our family of four. The view is blocked by a parking lot and street but you can still see the water and are only a stone's throw from Wooton Park. Service was friendly and quick. As Billy N. said, Chrissy did a great job and was perfectly happy and bubbly as she went about her job. Food and drink were a disappointment. First, a place like this should have a better beer selection. They have your typical crap beers like Bud, Miller, etc. and only two that were drinkable. It would be great to try some craft brews while sitting on the deck enjoying a sunset. Happy hour/drink specials would be nice too. The food selection looks promising but lacks execution. My burger was overcooked and underseasoned and the "seasoned fries" were just frozen/fried crinkle cut. The meal was absolutely not worth the calories. With a food and drink overhaul this restaurant could be great. It has a fabulous location and a great staff. Hopefully things improve here!

Decent place, generally recommend as long as the servers wash their hands between petting customers' dogs and carrying plates! Great service, food is pretty good. I've had better but I've also had way worse in the area. The lettuce wraps were very salty, the ahi salad is great, the caprese flatbread is loaded with garlic, the beef soup tasted like canned broth. They took the soup off my bill when they noticed I didn't eat it.

They have great vegetarian options. I had the veggie wrap and it was very tasty. My friend had the Tavares burger and they said it was good. Atmosphere was nice and service was very quick.

It's hit or miss with the menu items. Some good some not, some priced right for the portions, some not. Table service a bit slow and sometimes you're made to feels as if you are inconveniencing them. Fun location though. Fun to het a burgers and fries at the bar. Cant go wrong with that option.

Always have a great experience at this place. I usually go for lunch, and service is always great! Food is usually pretty good. But this last time I went we sat inside and I noticed some rat droppings on the chair at the table we sat at...
