Delicious curries, big portions, and quick service for a fair price. I'm so down. Our table tried the following and everyone got medium spice which was fairly spicy so if that ain't yo thang, order mild. Each curry was flavored with coconut milk as well so the sweet spice was a recurring theme. Yum. Pumpkin Curry- Piled high with fresh veggies (onions, red and green peppers, celery, baby corn), big peices of freshly cooked pumpkin, and chicken, looked unbelievable, I'm ordering this next time sans the chicken. Green Chicken Curry- The had different veggies than the other curries ordered, with green beans and looked very spring-y. Panang Curry (Veggies only)- a big plate of spicy/sweet vegetables.....heaven. Seriously delicious. Red Chicken Curry- Pretty similar to the panang in appearance, so fresh. Chicken Pad Thai- A huge serving, I think my friend only ate a quarter of it and was full. Looked great with lots of extras to mix in (bean sprouts, lime, sauce, peanuts, etc.). The food came out very quickly and each plate was under $12. Parking is a joke (there isn't any) so we had to park in the alley in the back and the inside of the restaurant leaves much ambiance to be desired. But waters were refilled and the service was great. Solid four stars!

This was our first time dining at the Lemon Grass Thai Kitchen and we are sure to be back. The food exceeded our expectations in every way possible. Was probably the best pad Thai I have ever had. Plus, it's nice that you can choose the level of spiciness for each dish. Lastly, the restaurant is pretty inexpensive for the portion sizes. Highly recommend!

No, no, please fucking no! I had the basil chicken and Tom yum soup. The chicken had the after taste of old piss. You know when you go over to eat at an old person's house and the spices taste like their house smells?....that's kinda it, only someone must've pissed in the spice jar too. The soup smelled of feet so my fiancé didn't even try it. As a matter of fact: I just realized that you may need to try this to believe it so please do. You will be amazed; I was. This place was packed too, crazy!!!!!! Did you know the lowest you can score a joint is 1 star?

I am so very upset right now. What did you do to the Prik Khing?! It tasted like water and red pepper flakes with barely cooked vegetables!

The Lemon Grass is the best in town. The food, the atmosphere and the staff is outstanding!!!!! I am a regular and the staff and owners treat you like family. I will keep referring and taking my friends and family there always. They all go out of their way and the service is amazing!

Looking at the whole dining experience it was average, maybe even just 2 stars. There is little or no parking, the atmosphere is cheap and old, the service is basically "what do you want and then here is the check". The food was good but not great. The only table that got any service was a table of 4 orientals. I think all the people here are actually Korean not Thai. I just think if you drive somewhere for a meal that has table service the whole experience should go into rating it.

I will say the food was ok. Up to expectations, but not above. However I have never had such bad service in all my life which completely overrides anything nice I could have found to say. I was with my Mom and daughter, a (well behaved) 2 year old. It was a week night and not busy. There were 2 servers who both waited on us. There were no smiles the entire time that we were there and they basically seemed annoyed with our presence. Waters were never refilled. Plates were practically thrown down on the table and they walked away. Out of 3 orders 2 came out wrong and had to be sent back.Of course no one came to check on us and it took me quite some time to get anyone's attention to point out the mistakes. (I had asked for ommissions due to allergies.) No apologies or any communication really. By the time the correct food arrived I felt treated so poorly I didn't even want to eat it anymore. I don't know if they just aren't friendly to children (my daughter entertained herself by drawing in my lap or her booster seat and only got up to go to the bathroom) or if everyone can expect this level of friendlyness. We won't be back.

I really like this place. It's a tiny restaurant with very limited seating. They get very busy at lunch with the lunch buffet. The buffet is very good I really enjoy the selection they have. The menu items are really great too I like their egg plant. It's a huge plate and I've never had egg plant like this before it's a must try item on their menu. The usual pad Thai is also great here. The service is great as well. They usually have 2 servers working but the servers are very quick and attentive.

A co-worker and I stopped at Lemon Grass for lunch yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised to see they offer a daily lunch buffet. It was $8.50 for all the thai food we could handle. There were more than enough options to appease us both and you really can't deny that steal of deal (especially when pad thai is normally $13 on it's own). I really enjoyed the yellow curry and vegetables. We were in and out in 30 minutes, if you work nearby, it's a great quick, tasty, and reasonably priced weekday lunch stop.

I am reviewing the LUNCH SPECIAL BUFFET ONLY. This is one of the best lunch buffets for Thai around.. in fact I don't even know of any others in the area. It's like $8 all you can eat, they have soups, salads, entrees, desserts, egg rolls etc. Usually keeps its well stocked and "fresh"... really good!

Good food and service. Be sure to ask for the plate of sauces. Portions are very large. Should've split the meal. Will be back.

It was a good Thai place. The lunch buffet was good and fast. Parking is terrible, seating is tight. I like Pad Thai a little less mushy. Soups were not that great. The Curry was very good, not the best but for an $8.50 buffet lunch it was good.

Ugh.....what a terrible dining experience....I will never be back. I was in Tampa on business, and looked on Google and Yelp for a good Thai restaurant. Lemon Grass had pretty good reviews, so I thought I would give it a try. When I walked in the place, the 2 female servers looked at me like I had two heads. (Keep in mind there were only 2 other parties in the restaurant.) No "hello" or greeting, they just pointed at a table and they walked away. The one server took my order, and the food came out within 5 minutes. The food was actually good, it is such a shame that the service is atrocious. I had the green papaya salad and Tom Yum soup.....both were fresh, cooked perfectly, and tasted great. Nether server asked how my meal was, nor removed my dirty dishes. They finally removed my dishes, and dropped the check off while walking by. Literally less than 30 seconds later, she comes back and whips open the check presenter it to see if there was a credit card or a cash in it, and then she leaves it open !! I have never felt so unwelcome and rushed at a restaurant in my life !! Unbelievable ! These two miserable servers should get on a one-way boat back to Bangkok to understand why their country is called the "Land of Smiles". This establishment is also considered the "Best Thai in Tampa".....what a joke. Remove this big "Best of" sign outside (I'll help), you don't deserve this designation. I wouldn't set foot back in here even for a free meal.

Came here for the lunch buffet with some co-workers that were raving about the place! I was not that impressed... To start, good luck with the parking! We parked in the alley in the back & then had to walk past the not so pleasant sewage stench to get inside. Second, it very small & very tight inside. We all got the lunch buffet which was inexpensive. However, I wasn't that impressed by the food! I am not a Thai food expert by any means, but have had Thai at several other locations in Tampa/Brandon area. There's was way better!! The Thai place on Davis Island (can't recall the name) is much better! I don't think I'd return unless my coworkers wanted to!

Our favourite Thai place in Tampa yet. We usually get the Pad Se-Ew and have never been disappointed. I do feel like it's better when you eat it there rather than order it to go. But I haven't come across a place where that wasn't the case, so that doesn't take away from my rating. I also love their crab soup as an appetizer. So simple and fresh, always on point! Update: We managed to go for the lunch buffet once but weren't as impressed. Their regualr menu takes the cake. We have also recently converted to a vegetarian diet and still love this place! Our new favourite is the Pad Thai with tofu. The people at Lemon Grass now how to cook tofu on point. It's never bland, but always very rich in taste. Last but not least: The staff is very friendly.

I decided to give this place a try since I love thai good and even though there isn't anything like real authentic thai from Thailand there are still a few in the states that are just as good. This is not one of them! First of all the parking here is horrible. There's about 6 parking spots and they are really tight to the point you can barely get out of your car.I called to place an order for take out 45 minutes in advanced. Once I got there they told me my order was ready only to then told me that it wasn't. I had to wait an additional 25 min to get my order and the restaurant itself wasn't even busy. Once I got my order I asked them for some extra peanut sauce and they told me they had to charge me extra! Talk about great costumer service, first my foods not on time and now you wanna charge me extra? Once I got home, I had ordered shrimp pad thai, some spring rolls, and some seafood rice soup for my friend. The pad thai was kind of bland and mediocre with, I'm being honest, 5 shrimp! The spring rolls weren't all that great either. My friend said the soup wasn't bad although their version of a seafood soup is two big shrimp over rice and and soup. I paid $30.66 for all this and it wasn't even worth the price. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They have a sign out side that says best thai in Tampa but they really fall short if that! That's why I have this place one star!!!

I absolutely love this place. I eat here typically every week after working out and have always had an amazing experience! Food is always aaamazing, and staff is always VERY personable! It may be small, but worth it! I would recommend this place to anyone! if you're in a hurry, they're always quick whether eating here or togo!

The green curry with tofu was amazing!!! The pad thai was a little fishy for my taste but still very good and a huge portion! Definitely recommend!

My friend and I come here about once a week for the lunch buffet. The buffet is only $8.50 and it is all fresh Thai food. I love the cucumber salad, hot and sour chicken soup and the Basil Chicken. You can tell everything is homemade and cooked fresh. There is a long line out the door every time we go so make sure you don't arrive too late!

I agree with other people that have it a similar star rating. The service was awful! The quickest part about it was when they came to give me and pick up my check. Neither of the two ladies that took my order or served me broke a smile or even responded when I said hello or thanks. I was the only one at the restaurant too! I understand this was an off time (around 430) and they may have wanted a break, but wow. I got the sampler appetizer and it was all fried, which I did not expect. It was just ok. The best part was the crab Rangoon. At first I thought I would try it again and order another dish like pad thai or a curry, but the service was so UNFRIENDLY that I lost my desire to try again. Sorry lemongrass, but you should treat your customers in a more pleasant manner

Throw your neti pot away! My first visit to Lemon Grass was for dinner on a Thursday night - and it was all smiles and tears and congestion free. Hot! Beware though, you might also shed a tear trying to find parking. Use the lots next door or on the side. As I sit here and write this review, I continue to wipe away the tears. Green curry for dinner and green curry leftovers for breakfast - too soon? I think not. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed my green curry with chicken, and it wasn't too hot to enjoy. It's just been awhile since I enjoyed anything spicier than black pepper - my husband may be tall, dark, and handsome, but when it comes to his palate he's all wussy. Last night was girls' night out and luckily one of us was fluent in Thai menu. This could be the kind of place where what I ordered is not what I would expect. When in doubt, get the curry: - Green Curry with Chicken (Medium): probably around a scoville between 2500 and 3000 - if you don't know what I'm talking about, you're clearly uneducated. Very good, bit of warm heat but not too strong to not taste your food. - Pumpkin Curry with Chicken (Mild): my friend thinks I only sampled her dish once. Ha! Stealth mode engaged. Savory sweet with a hint of coconut and pumpkin. Delish! Also, don't be concerned about the strange essence in the air. Still not sure what it was, but then again anything other than Tide's Clean Cotton scent is bound to freak any sheltered white girl out. I'll be back!

Had their lunch buffet the other day. They had a decent selection and everything was delicious! And the kicker? Under 10 bucks! If I live in Tampa I would have lunch here every day. Okay every weekday because the lunch buffet is not available on weekends :( Get there before noon if you want a seat because this place is popular.

This is my first time having dinner at Lemongrass. In the past, I would come here for their lunch buffet. I must say, their lunch buffet is much better than their regular dining. I ordered the chicken pad thai, calamari and fried rice. Portion size were generous but lacks flavor. I had to add extra fish sauce and spices to my dish. My water was left unfilled while the servers were socializing in the back. Servers were not friendly and never smiled. Overall, my experience here was ok. I ate, I paid and left. Nothing captivated me. I'll come for their lunch buffet but would not dine here otherwise.

You can never go wrong here. The staff is friendly and we always leave with full bellies and food for later. Portions are generous! My fiancé is all about the curry dishes. He likes it the hottest he can get it. He ordered the yellow curry with chicken and it smelled so amazing I was salivating on his meal. But, it was too spicy and my stomach can't handle it anymore :(. I always stick with my favorite, Chicken Pad Thai. You can never go wrong here. Love the flavor a blending together of the sweet tangy sauce And the light Crunch Of cracked peanuts. Mm I could eat it all day! I should order another fish, but this is the only one that speaks to my little taste buds! I was here again the other night and I am still in love! The Thai tea, the friendly and funny staff and their savory chicken pad Thai Medium for me! My husband always does a curry dish and he likes them Thai Hot! My tummy couldn't even handle a single bite of his dish! If you love spicy get yours Thai Hot love this place!

Lemongrass is a weekly (or twice weekly) stop for us. This isn't some national chain that serves up tasteless soggy pad thai--we are talking fresh, consistent, authentic food here. If you order your meal "Thai hot," you are going to get it exactly like you would expect on a street corner stand in Bangkok. I am sad to hear that some Yelpers have had issues with service. We have always had prompt and warm service--so much so that one of the regular servers, "Tee", knows us by name and automatically brings lemongrass hot tea and vegetable fresh rolls to the table two or three minutes after sitting down. The building itself leaves much to be desired, but in my experience, the best Thai places are always in the crappiest buildings (if you ever go to Nashville, try Thai Phooket, which is literally housed in a trailer). Just a tip: although the food warms well and is fine for take-out, the flavor and consistency is exponentially better when you eat in. Enjoy!

Eh. This place is OK. I've only been a few times getting dishes such as basil fried rice, pad thai, basil stir fried beef, massaman. I like the taste of basil and here they grow their own which is cool. But the dishes always seem to be underwhelming to me. I can't quite pinpoint what it is. Maybe just a lack of seasoning. Service is hit or miss. Not a great atmosphere. It's just not a place I would recommend but maybe I'd stop in if other places are closed.

This is a great lunch spot. Small restaurant, small parking lot, and very busy at lunch, so might be hard to find a spot. Got the lunch buffet which was pretty good. I was impressed they had so many options. I'm a vegetarian and before arriving was thinking there wouldn't be a lot of choices for me. Glad I was wrong. Don't think you can go wrong with the 8$ lunch buffet. It had 3 soups, 1 which was veggie. Was good, nothing out of this world. There was a cucumber salad, which I enjoyed, a regular salad, and a noodle salad. I think there were probably 2 or 3 different curries and a few other meat dishes. My dining companions said those were all great. I had veggie pad Thai, which I liked, mixed veggies and rice, great, veggie fried rice, standard but good, veggie egg rolls, again, enjoyed, and tempura fried veggies. I thought everything was enjoyable. Certainly not the best but like I said, for a quick 8$ all you can eat lunch, pretty good. I saw them refilling often which meant everything was pretty hot and fresh for the most part. Service was spot on with clearing plates and keeping water full. Would definitely go back and certainly recommend for someone looking for a good, cheap, and plentiful lunch.

Really a nice and very tasty buffet of Thai food. There are a couple of types of curry, spicy chicken entrees, mixed vegetables, white and fried rice, chicken drumsticks, tempura, egg rolls, and soups. There are a few nice Thai desserts and salad items as well. The atmosphere is simple and plain (could be much better), but the food is really good. This place is definitely worth trying. The price for the buffet is under $10, so you can't beat the value. This place deserves the 4 stars I gave. Hope this info helps you have a good Thai lunch.

Was craving Thai food, but the restaurant we usually order take-out from is closed on Sundays so we decided to dine at Lemon Grass Thai Kitchen instead. We've ordered take-out a few time from Lemon Grass, but this was my first dining-in experience with the restaurant. The service was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly. We never once had to ask for drink refills and the staff immediately offered us take-out boxes when they saw we did not finish our meal. We ordered the Green Curry with chicken and the Prik Khing with chicken. Both dishes were exceptional, but the Green Curry is my favorite because the coconut and basil in the dish is so fragrant and the sweet coconut flavor balances so well with the spice. In my opinion you receive a generous portion of chicken and vegetables for $13. For dessert we had the Thai Donuts. The hot fresh donuts were simple, but amazing. The donuts were served with sweet peanut sauce. (I was hoping for a chocolate dipping sauce, but the peanut sauce was very good.) I don't think I would order this dessert to-go. This is one of those desserts that are best consumed as soon as it is served. Will definitely be back.

First time ordering lunch to go. Very satisfied with the portions. The rice soup is very good and I love the spring rolls. I also had the pad Thai chicken which was the perfect blend of peanut and spices. Very moist and tasty. I'll eat here again for sure.

I absolutely love Thai food, and I absolutely love Lemongrass! I've been here for lunch and dinner before, and it's always been great. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. Now, on to the food... IT IS SUPERB! I absolutely love their red curry! They add just the right amount of spice to your preference. The lunch special is probably the best one in town when it comes to a Thai buffet; they have it all! Curry, Pad Thai, Samrod chicken, Spicy Basil Chicken, spring rolls, salads, etc. I love this restaurant and I will continue to go there. Try it out if you're a Thai food lover!

Wow.. This is my new favorite Thai place. Service was amazing and the food was what I expected. Just the right amount of spice. So happy we decided to try this place, it's small and quaint but brought back memories of being in Thailand. Had the summer rolls and gagee yellow curry with chicken. Waitstaff was so cool and personable, can't wait to go back

Fantastic. Went for the buffet, all food was fresh and tasty! Place was packed during lunch and it is a small restaurant, so you may wait during busy periods. Service was fine, price was good. Try it.

My relatives and I wanted to have late lunch somewhere near Tampa International airport before our flights. This thai food restaurant was very delicious!I enjoyed tasting their red curry. There are two choices of ordering in the afternoon, individual orders or lunch buffet! The lunch special for Thai food is probably the best one in West Tampa; they have it all! Curry, Pad Thai, Samrod chicken, Spicy Basil Chicken, spring rolls, salads, etc. The staff members were very friendly! When my relatives and I enter the door, we were greeted and seated at a table right away. They check up at your table to make sure if you're enjoying the food or need to order more food or water refills. I would visit this place again.

I came here with coworkers around 12:30 on a Monday afternoon and the place was packed. There are 10 tables in the restaurant and it's buffet style. The best item I tried was the prik khing chicken and the green curry chicken... All items come with chicken BTW. There are no other meat options. The food is pretty good, however there are limited options to the buffet and things run out quickly. I wouldn't recommend coming here between 11:30-2:00pm.

I love the food - but I had to quit going here because the waitress would put me Into a bad bad mood. It was as if she despised serving me... So while the food is good- the bad energy feeling I would get - keeps me from going in there ever again. Restaurant owners should pay attention to WHO works for their establishment, after all we are paying for food, ambiance and SERVICE! Oh and I gave it at least 10 more times and spoke to the owner. Too bad her own sister-in-law is sabotaging the spot. I have had several people concur. When're bad mood lady leaves- we will all return. Until then, to go it is or avoid.

I've heard a lot of good things about Lemon Grass from people in my office so me and another coworker decided to head over. The parking is terrible during lunch. There's a grass patch out back and good luck trying to get a spot. The service was non-existent. I barely got napkins and clearing the plates took a while from our table. The space also has a slight "odd" smell as well and it's not coming from the food. There's hardly any seating inside so if for no other reason than hotter food (around 12:45, the food was lukewarm on the buffet), get here early. My coworker and I had the lunch buffet which is under $10 without a drink and tip. The items on the buffet are salad, three types of soups, about 10 different items from the hot bar and three "dessert" items. I was there about 40 minutes and I didn't see the yogurt with strawberries and bananas get replaced nor was it placed on ice so I steered clear of that. I wasn't finding any of the soups interesting. The cucumber salad had a strong vinegar taste. The best things from the buffet were the vegetable egg rolls and the vegetable pad thai. The chicken curry was just ok. From what people kept telling me, I was really hoping that this place would be better. I probably won't be back anytime soon. For sure, I won't do the buffet again. I'll be sticking with the other great Thai places in town.

We feel weird. Beef was definitely poor quality. Have to go to the bathroom immediately. Food tasted kind of old. Friend's red curry with chicken was okay but the pumpkin curry didn't have much flavor. Wouldn't come back, there's too much better Thai elsewhere.

I had the misfortune of getting served by a, for lack of better words, dumb waitress. There were 2 and one was awesome and the other (one who served us) had a hard time focussing on the customer - there was a mirror right behind and she kept adjusting her hair and she had a "FU" written on her forehead (the way she spoke to us). That really didn't get to me. What got me was she messed up our order in the first place, second, she asked us to eat what was served and NOT fix her effup. She just kept telling us to eat our food and refused to take it back. I told her I asked for Hot Pad Thai (she got us mild Green Curry). We paid and left, a $35 effup! Food was moderately ok and NOT authentic at all.

This is a very popular Thai restaurant in South Tampa. It is not very big but they have a nice menu and nice staff. From my experience this is not very traditional Thai food but the food was tasty and the service was attentive!

Amazing lunch buffet!!! Very affordable and delicious. I love the chicken wings and egg rolls. The restaurant is very small and so is the parking lot ! Good for 2 or 3 people. The pad Thai very good as well. Service is quick and kind!

This restaurant actually wrote to me demanding I remove my review, scolding and insulting me, and threatening to never allow me into their establishment again because of my "petty" review and "atrocious" comments here on yelp. Oddly I still do not feel like this restaurant gives a hoot about their customers which is why I question how far this non-concern goes and will not return.

Called this place twice to ask if they were open before leaving my house and driving 20 minutes for lunch. Upon arriving, the same woman I spoke to on the phone told me they weren't open for another hour. The blatant disregard of customer service was enough that I will never come back to lemon grass thai kitchen again.

Excellent little restaurant. First timer who will definitely come again while I'm in the area. Their curry is full of flavor and phenomenal hand rolled veggie rolls. Great service and attention to our table. Very homie feels like I'm in a different country in here. Thai tea is also delicious.

Couldn't be more upset with Lemongrass. Came here tonight, a little busy. We decided to sit outside, get some fresh air. We waited for 25 minutes, no service. Decided to leave. I've been here in the past, foods not bad. I can't say I'll ever return though..

Service was awesome. Yellow curry was delicious. My kids had beef pad thai and they loved it. I want to go back soon, so that I can try more. Best Thai I have had in Tampa since we moved here from Chicago last year.

  • Acelyn B.

Several others have said it, but I will too for even more emphasis... They should take down the "Best Thai in Tampa" sign. 1. You can't be self-proclaimed. It makes anyone look cocky. (cough*Lebron*cough) 2. You can't say best without providing results. (Lebron does provide results, though...) A friend and I came for lunch, but didn't choose the lunch buffet. I normally don't like buffets anyway, and I was already craving for massaman curry, which isn't part of it. I was waiting on my friend to arrive, so when she did, I think the server just assumed we would get the buffet. She already gave me two waters, so she probably thought her job was done. I waited a little to try and flag her down, but she never came by our table. So I went ahead and got menus myself. I finally did flag her down, so we could order. I asked for little to no spice on mine, but I think she heard me wrong... probably because she was in a hurry and walked away already as I was talking. Cool... The entrees come with soup and a spring roll. The soup was really good, but too spicy for me. I kept eating it despite my mouth telling me no. The spring roll was perfect. My massaman curry came out, and one look at it told me that she did not get my no-spice memo. Spices sprinkled all over. Oh well, my mouth was already on fire anyway. It was decent. For me, the spice overpowered the actual flavor of the curry. I ate it all anyway only because I was hungry. The lunch portion is pretty small too. Usually at Thai restaurants, I don't finish my meal and am able to take home enough for a second meal. It's for a good price, though. Soup, spring roll, and curry was $7.50.

I had the chile tofu and veggies sautee, as well as the veggie rolls. Loved everything - lots of green vegetables and the chile sauce was delicious. Perfectly spicy for me - not too hot but not lacking in heat either.

Went here for the buffet lunch and everything was excellent. First I was very excited to find a Thai buffet. I'm very nervous about trying a new Thai dish because it could be, lets say, not exactly my preferred taste. With a Buffet, you get to try a little bit of everything and go back fro what you like. I actually enjoyed everything, but the Fried rice is a staple food that was very good. It enhanced almost all of the other foods. The Pad Thai was very sweet, which was different, not bad, just different. I'll definitely be back and the only thing keeping this place from 5 stars is probably the location (parking) and a few more dishes on the buffet would make it the absolute top of the mark.

So I went here with the wife and child last Saturday at around 2:30, and was pleased to find the place mostly empty. It is big enough inside, and there is also seating outside. We chose to sit inside, where there were some nice pictures on the wall to feast your eyes upon. I ordered the lad nah with chicken, wife had the red curry with shrimp, and the little one had chicken fried rice. We also ordered 2 bowls of tom ka soup with shrimp for before our main meal. This soup had lemon grass, coconut milk, mushrooms, shrimp, and other things, and it was absolutely delicious! The food came not long after, and the first thing we noticed was how big the servings were. None of us finished our meals that day, but gladly enjoyed the remnants the next day. My lad nah had LOTS of chicken, broccoli, and carrots and came in a tasty brownish broth that was fairly thin, but full of flavor. The wife's curry was full of shrimp and bamboo with a fairly thick curry sauce full of flavor. Definitely specify that you want it mild, because their standard(I guess that's what she had) has a pretty decent bite to it. The fried rice was big. I think there is still some in the fridge. The total for this, 2 soft drinks, and a Thai iced coffee came to a little over $50. The service was good, as the ladies were very friendly and attentive. Passing by you only see the parking directly in front of the place, but there is more on the side and back. Very good food and friendly staff made this a nice dining experience.

Lemongrass is another solid Thai place amongst the litany of the good Thai restaurants we're lucky enough to have in Tampa. The wonton soup is just about perfect and they have an awesome pumpkin curry that is available year around. What really separates Lemongrass from the others is their portion size. With other places leaving me hungry, Lemongrass leaves me full and usually with leftovers. Also, they're open later than most of their competition, so an after hours food pick up happens often.

The food here is alright. But it's delicious at $7.99 lunch Buffett! It's small, quaint but a great spot to go to when your in the mood for thai and want a great value. The food tasted even better after finding out about this bargain lunch spot!

I've come here three times since I've discovered this place, and I must say, it's pretty legit. Their shrimp pad Thai was so yummy I ate in silence for approximately 10 min. I almost forgot I was eating dinner with a friend.

I beg to differ about their self-proclaimed "Best Thai in Tampa" status. I gave Lemon Grass Thai Kitchen two different tries. The first visit I did the lunch buffet. The price is good, but the food was bland and greasy. Some of the dishes had an off taste - perhaps too much of a poor quality fish sauce? I didn't care for any of the dishes I sampled from the buffet and ended up eating more plain, white rice to ease my growling tummy. Never a good sign when I leave a place still hungry. On my second visit, I thought perhaps the buffet had been a bad choice since I tend to take my lunch break rather late and dishes may have been sitting quite a while. So I went with something off the menu - the beef fried rice. This turned out to be a poor choice too. The lunch entrees come with soup and a spring roll. The soup was ho-hum - broth from concentrate or bullion granules and little crumbles of tofu. Not bad but nothing I would pay for on its own. The spring roll was crisp and tasty. Sadly, the good ended there. My beef fried rice came out pale and glistening. Even during the short trip from the kitchen to my table, clear oil had come seeping out of the rice and into a huge puddle on the plate. The beef was okay, but the rice had almost no seasoning or saucing. There were a few sad little veggies that came out of the freezer, but that was about it. Once again, even though I was quite hungry, I ended up leaving food on my plate and leaving hungry and disappointed again. I am not bothering giving them a third chance. However, the place is clean, the service was not awful and the food is edible (for some), so I am not giving one star. If they are the "best Thai in Tampa", I'm the Queen of Sheba.

This place is absolutely Divine. But you should know that it gets extremely busy during rush hour and space is very limited. Other than that the buffet is surely worth your money for about $8 a person!? Heck yeah! Although it is only a small variety of foods for buffet yiu can wait until 3pm and dine in with even more choices to choose from! But good luck with that..its extremely hard to make up your mind when all those delicious food choices are "staring" at you. Portions: Large ( so its worth your money - approx $10 give or take) Groups: Don't recommend taking more than 4 or 5 people Food taste: excellent the flavoring is just on point My Favorite: I know its pretty basic but their fried rice and the fried chicken from the buffet is fried to PERFECTION!! its literally so good that right when the waitress refills the fried chicken on the buffet you have about 5 mins before its all gone again What's on the Buffet? : White Rice, 3 different kinds of soup, four different kinds of curried chicken, fried chicken, fried rice, pad Thai, fried sweet potatoes. Dessert: fruits, classic Thai dessert ( a pastry w/ condensed milk -on the side), sliced bananas in a bowl of coconut milk. -side note: yes the buffet is small but its DEFINITELY WORTH YOUR MONEY AND TIME SO GO CHECK IT OUT AND TRY IT!((: LEMONGRASS YOU GO!

Food is incredible! Very fast service. Extensive menu. I had green curry with chicken, Tom Yum chicken soup, and fresh rolls with shrimp. Phenomenal! This is my new thai spot for sure! Hot sake wasn't bad either :) AND Thai donuts.

This place is delicious! We tried the pad Thai the Tom kah soup and the papaya salad and it was amazing!!! The people who work at the restaurant are very kind they even let us try everything that is in the buffet without paying. The restaurant is clean and the attention is good. I will definitely come back.

I visit this place about once per week. Love it! Fast and friendly service, consistent on dine in and take out. My favorite thai place in Tampa. Wish it was bigger because it tends to get busy at lunch and parking is sometimes a pain.

I've driven pass this location several times seeing the sign boasting to be the "Best Thai in Tampa." That's a pretty lofty statement that begs people to wonder if it'll live up to its hype. We met some friends for lunch giving them some options courtesy of Yelp. I love looking at my bookmarks and trying something new. Our friends picked Thai food so we ventured here. Once we parked in their private lot that has at most 8-10 spots, we entered the restaurant. The seating is pretty tight and close to each other so you can hear the conversations going on in other tables. It seems that from the reviews, the lunch buffet is the way to go. The weekend prices are pretty pricey considering I can find the same items in other restaurants. This restaurant doesn't stand out from any other Thai restaurant that I've been to. One thing to note is that the dishes are spicy. I ordered my Yum Beef (salad) medium and it was spicy even for me. My boyfriend's Spicy Green Chicken Curry was just the right heat level for him which begs the question what "Thai Spicy" would taste like. We ordered a starter of vegetarian spring rolls for the table which came out four sad looking rolls. It was fine but not outstanding. It was by no means a generous amount. Overall, the meal was decent but the prices were pretty high for something average. I have plenty of Thai restaurants nearby that have lower prices so I probably won't venture all the way here next time. Service was cold but prompt. Bathrooms smelled weird.

Had the Pad Kee Mao, the flavors were quite delicious, though the squid was just a touch overdone. Reminded me of E-San in Portland (one of my all time favorite Thai restaurants) with delicious flavor and spice (I ordered mine "Hot" which was spicy but not so spicy that you begin to sweat). Overall a good place that I'll try to visit again next time I'm in Tampa.

Excellent thai food. Thai food is one of my favorite things to eat and they certainly do it right at lemongrass. I got the shrimp pad thai medium spicy and it was great. Big portion and perfectly spicy for me. Tom yum soup is also great. My boyfriend got fresh rolls and red curry which both got my approval! Will definitely be coming here more often.

My favorite thai place! I don't say that with light intent. I have eaten at a lot of delicious thai places. Will you get the best service here? Nope. Does it matter when you're stuffing your face with some of the best Tom Ka Gai soup / Pad Woon Sen / Curry puffs / etc. ever? Nope! This place is fast, fresh, and delicious.

Hands down one of the best Thai places in Tampa! Their staff is really friendly and always lets met try new stuff for free. I'd eat here everyday if I could! Food is reasonably priced, lunch specials come with soup and a spring roll.

I tend not to stray far from my favorite Thai dishes when trying a new place. That being said, the Green Curry Chicken was outstanding. Friendly staff and they seemed to tag team the tables to provide constant service. Good selection of Asian beers. The portion was extremely satisfying and there was plenty of chicken to finish the plate with a piece of chicken in every bite! I will be returning to try some new dishes since my experience was a pleasant one...

Been here twice and hasn't been a dissapointment. Brought my pregnant friend who was craving noodles and oh my, coconut soup and noodles are too die for. Asked for the crab dumplings and they are delicious. I asked for my favorite yellow curry, find out they have brown rice and it was spectacular. And the thai tea a little sweet for my taste but good. Definetly I will visit again when visiting Tampa and craving Thai. Great service too!

Solid Thai place. Though it is relatively pricey, the serving sizes are good for the most part. It is a small restaurant and the eating area is nice. The curries, pad thai and fried rice dishes are all pretty tasty but not over-the-top.

We always order from Lemon Grass for lunch, we work downtown so it is very convenient. Very good Thai food, all of the curries are great. The Pad Thai is awesome as well! Great value for lunch, you get a main entree, rice, spring rolls and soup for around $8. We have also ordered catering from them for events and they do a great job and are not that expensive. One of my favorite places to get lunch! Highly recommend it!

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Tampa! Their staff is always friendly and their food is always fresh and delicious. Their lunch combo specials are a great deal at $6-$9 so myself and my coworkers get take out for lunch frequently. I've also dined in with friends and love its quaint little atmosphere and attentive service. My favorite dishes are the tom yum soup and of course the pad Thai. The only thing I won't recommend is the crab rangoon... it must be a Thai recipe I'm not used to compared to the Chinese version. It had some weird yellow filling that did not quite do it for me. Everything else is superb. If you like Thai food or want to try something new I definitely suggest Lemon Grass!

I've been wanting to try this place for a while but the lunch crowd always takes up all the parking. I finally got to go for dinner this week and was not disappointed. My boyfriend and I started with the fresh rolls with shrimp and they were awesome. The peanut sauce was perfectly peanutty & the sweet chili sauce was a hit with my boyfriend. Our server was extremely helpful when we mentioned his gluten allergy and she told us to go with a curry. He had the red curry and I had a huge plate of shrimp fried rice. I had to take some home and can't wait to eat the leftovers! My bf polished off his chicken curry dish and we left fat and happy.

On a good friend's recommendation, I was excited to try Lemon Grass and I was really impressed. I loved the Yum salad and my Green Curry was EXCELLENT. Thai is naturally meant to be served spicy, so just know your heat level and ask for mild if you're more of a lightweight, like me, and they are very accommodating. The Thai Tea was also very divine here, but I would ask for a little less sugar in the tea next time. Super casual, mom and pop feel, and I definitely recommend.

This may be the best Thai in Tampa, but that is not saying much. Most Thai places in Tampa SUCK. Food is mediocre. HOWEVER, the weekday lunch buffet is an absolute steal, and makes other Thai restaurants seem like a ripoff by comparison. Do the weekday buffet, get there early (like before 11:30 a.m.). It's good food and at even better price.

    (4)
  • Robin T.

The Thai food in Tampa is so-so, but Lemon Grass is my favorite Thai place that I've found so far in South Tampa. Their weekday lunch buffet is an EXCELLENT deal. Lots of different foods to choose from, though most of the buffet options are not that tasty but there are 2 or 3 dishes that I really like. For dinner, they have amazing pad ke mao and pad thai, and their curries are all very good! If you like spicy food, make sure to specify that you want Thai spicy. It's still not as spicy as a lot of other Thai places that I've been to, but if you ask them, they will bring out a special spice tray so you can add more, if you want. One downside is the parking, which can get annoying because the lot is small and then you have to park in the back alley behind the restaurant.

  • Louis M.

YUM! One of the best Thai restaurants in Tampa. The food here is fantastic, and the owners really care about providing great food and a pleasant experience. That's not something you can fake. For first timers, I would recommend the weekday lunch buffet. It's a great opportunity to experience new Thai foods without having to send dishes back, or waste your money. The selection is wide, varied and an extremely good value. One thing I appreciate is that the dishes are clearly and accurately labeled. That way you can remember what you like/dislike and order it again. We paid $11.25 per person, with a soft drink, which is a steal! The only downside I can see about this place is the parking is less than ideal. There are only a small number of small spaces in front, and a few more on the sides. Bring a small car if you can. I watched a Chevy Suburban engulf most of their parking lot singularly, but then a whole tribe of kids piled out which I guess counts as carpooling. If you catch them on their off-peak hours (just before 3 P.M. or before 11:30) or weekend days, you should do fine.

I'm half Thai. That's right, I'm a Thai Princess. Just FYI, as Thai royalty, I consider myself an authority of Thai food. :) I stopped by here a few days ago to grab dinner with my family (yes, other Thai royalty). The food verdict? Above average. We ordered: 1) Crab Rangoon -- Very good, but let's face it, it's hard to screw this one up. My only complaint is that they cut corners by using more cream cheese than crab. I realize most restaurants do this, however. 2) Tom Kha w/ chicken -- Wowzers! Incredible. Just FYI, for all you spicy fans, I ordered this medium spicy and it was not spicy at all. If you like a little kick, take the spiciness full throttle. 3) Garee (Yellow Curry) -- Very good. I didn't like the fact that the sauce was so runny and they served it on a plate. A bowl would have been a much better platform. It tasted really good though. Again, not very spicy. 4) Sticky Rice -- Standard fare. No complaints here. 5) Papaya Salad -- Eek! I personally am not a fan, but my mom said that it was just "okay." She's had much better. Service was above average. Food came out altogether in a timely manner. Water was constantly refilled (my usual gripe). I really wish I had the opportunity to try out their lunch buffet, but the travel itinerary didn't allow it. Overall, a solid place. I would definitely come back again and kick up the spice!

This restaurant caught my attention when a friend pointed out their sign for "Best Thai in Tampa." So far, they live up to it! The service was great. The server providing tips throughout the meal, and insights on her favorite recipes. The food was delicious, and the portions were large. I asked for extra heat, but it was a little much, so go light, and ask for more if you want it. The server recommended the warm sake, but I went with the chilled. They provide the full bottle in chilled champagne glasses. Save room for the mango and sticky rice dessert! An authentic Thai dish.

Some of our friends insisted we must come to this place! We are happy we did! We ordered the calamari for an app and it was super tasty. Perfectly crisp not thickly battered at all with a yummy dipping sauce and additional sauces if you want to spice it up. We all for some reason opted for the Pad Thai... It had great flavors and a huge portion... My chicken was a tad dry but still very good! I will def be back!

My mother and I went here for dinner. We experienced a quick and attentive service and delicious food. We ordered a couple of their noodle dishes and were very pleased. However, I agree with other reviewers in that there are other Thai Restaurants in Tampa that are just as good and sometimes better. This is a good casual place to go if you are craving Thai food.

Excellent food and fantastic service! Definitely the best Thai in Tampa. The menu has a lot to choose from, including a tasty pumpkin curry I can't find anywhere else. The staff is interactive and will make honest off-the-wall recommendations to ensure you enjoy your meal. The prices are reasonable and for all the food and service you get are actually better priced than anywhere else.

Figured I would give this place a shot because I was in the mood for Thai food and both of my go to spots were closed on Monday. I ordered Tom Yum soup, basil chicken, and some steamed dumplings. I walked in and was overwhelmed by a smell of feet. Like a stinky locker room. I paid and told them I would wait outside for the food as I couldn't take the odor any longer. I get home and as soon as I open the soup container I get overwhelmed by this smell of foot once again. My fiancé ate it and said if was horrible. I didn't even try it and we both love Tom yum soup. Then I proceed to try the basil chicken which also had a funny smell but not nearly as bad as the Tom yum. Half way through I am thinking this has a terrible aftertaste but i did not want to ruin dinner for my fiancé so i didn't say anything. Funny thing is just a minute later she says you know this tastes like shit and smells like pee. At this point I get really grossed out and decide to stop eating and throw out my food. Before throwing out the white rice I took a sniff of that and it smelled like urine as well. Wtf are they using toilet water to make their food? Never again!!! Oh and by the way the steamed dumplings sucked too.

This is my favorite place for lunch. They have a lunch buffet that offers the classic pad thai and curries. My favorite is their thai ground chicken salad, fried chicken wings and veggie tempura. Though it's a little cramped inside, I've managed to get a table fairly quick. It's a must try if you live in the Tampa area.

A good friend of mine took me here for the lunch buffet, and I can't wait to go back! Get there before noon because seating is limited and gets pretty crowded. There were about 8 hot dishes, salad, and 3 soups to choose from and everything was very tasty. I think this is the best spot for Thai lunch buffet in Tampa.

Sooooo.... I used to absolutely love this little place. Its been a few years since I darkened their door, but hungry and wanting asian the other night, me and my Viet noshing buddy went there for noms. Well. They need to take down their 'best of thai' sign out front. What was once cheap and amazing is now pricey and just so-so. I ordered a curry dish mild to medium, (I actually forget which one it was so meh) and my friend ordered his dish 'asian spicy'... Fail. Mine was bland, his was so-so he reported. They updated the interior too, made it brighter and such - maybe thats why the prices went up. It made me sad.

Have eaten there 4 times, dinner and lunch. My wife, friends & I all agreed it was some of the best Thai dishes we have had, classics like pad Thai, etc., Tom Kha coconut soup and red curries. I particularly enjoy the lunch buffet where they usually have up to 4 soups which I love, very fresh salad & toppings and more than 6 varied entrees, several vegetarian. The restaurant is small and parking is at a premium, so get there early... SRO for lunch. Very attentive, friendly service and reasonable prices.

This is my favorite spot in Tampa for Thai food. I'm not in a position to judge it on authenticity, but I can safely say that I've enjoyed everything I've tried here. The Tom Kha soup is wonderful, and their spin on crab rangoon, with just a touch of curry powder, is refreshing and tasty, standing out from the usual Chinese restaurant fare. The entrees have all been very good, and generously portioned enough to easily feed two people (if you can agree on the same dish, they have a very large menu and appealing daily specials). I've always found the service here to be excellent and friendly, speedy enough to let me sneak this in during work lunch breaks, and best of all, they're always careful to check how spicy I want my order (I'm weak. Someone needs to save me from forgetting to ask for the toned down, baby-spicy level). Definitely respect the designated parking signage, I get the impression that the shop next door to this place takes that stuff seriously.

FAIL. I don't say epic fail only because the wait staff were pretty nice. But the food is definitely a far claim from the "Best Thai in Tampa." The spring rolls were okay, but I've had better. Totally overpriced at 2 for $6! The fried rice was decent but not at all spicy even when I asked for medium. The pad thai was so-so. The sauce was too sweet for my liking. It had the spice, but it needed more savory. In the end, the food is edible and not much else.

The Place is cozy and the staff is friendly. Even a nice selection of Thai Food as well. However, the food is just average. In 2 visits i was less than impressed with ALL that was tasting (a total of about 6 dishes). (This from someone who has been to Thailand) The sign claiming to be the "Best Thai in Tampa" to me is a flat out lie. I can think of atleast 4 other Thai Restaurants that are FAR better. Save the Trip and Money .. go to Sukho Thai!

Nope that's not it .I know I ordered a sour soup but that is all I could taste in it was the sour aspect .I have eaten at many Thai places and this is the first time I have been disappointed.Pumpkin curry is my all time favorite but not here .Flavor wise it just missed the mark.I love Crab Rangoon too but again they put curry powder in it and that's all i tasted !! I have to say the server was just as it should be but the food not so much.Maybe its just me I read good reviews but this just isnt my Thai place.

I just moved to Tampa and my wife and I are trying to find a decent Thai restaurant. This is the second place we've been to, and we're pleased with it. Bottom line up front -- go to Lemon Grass, it's good. In order to be fair and establish a baseline, I always order the same thing when I'm trying to find decent Thai. I get a bowl of tom Kha gai, some nam sod, and red curry. For years my wife ate crappy Thai food, and like most people who aren't Thai, she thought most of it was good. She thought the thai soups she had been eating were delicious, until I took her to restaurant that a family friend of mine owns in Arlington, VA; this place is legit and makes authentic Thai food. She was astounded at the difference between my friend's soup and everything else up to that point in her life. All she could say was, "Mmmmmm...this taste so fresh!" Sorry folks, I know this place I speak of isn't in Tampa, but you can get a good bowl of soup at Lemon Grass. Here's what you need to know about Thai soups. They shouldn't be greasy or overwhelmingly rich. They should have a nice balance of citrus, broth, spice, and fresh herbs. You should be able taste the lemon grass and cilantro. When you take sip of broth it should be soothing and warming. I have to say, the tom kha gai at Lemon grass is pretty good. It's not spectacular, but it's pretty darn good and meets most of my criteria. Nam sod here was good. Not the best I've ever had by a long shot, but it was flavorful. It had a nice balance of citrus and fish sauce, coupled with the onion and cilantro. Excellent with the toasted peanuts on top -- good job. Despite breaking my rule of not speaking Thai when doing a baseline assessment, I asked in Thai for this to be spicy. Despite always stressing everywhere I go that I want my food "Thai" spicy, most restaurants never make it spicy enough; this was the case here, as well. I think Thais are afraid that most Americans will be put off if they make the food the way it's supposed to be, which is nonsense. My red curry was pretty good. It wasn't too creamy and rich like most places, which was good. Despite not being spicy enough, it had a nice balance of coconut milk, fish sauce, and curry. There was only pork, bamboo, and red bell peppers -- thanks Lemon Grass for not putting crap like carrots or baby corn in. My wife and I are going to continue to try more places until we find the best one; however, we believe Lemon Grass is probably as good as it's going to get. We are going to the Thai temple (Wat) tomorrow, which I'm sure will blow all the restaurants out of the water, but it only serves food on the weekends.

My girlfriend and I were trying to find a quick lunch place that would be suitable for two vegetarians. This place was more than perfect. We walked in 10 minutes before the lunch buffet so we had to order from the menu but one of the other servers who wasn't ours, told us to basically finish off the buffet. I felt like I was back home again with my mom making me eat up. After having the delicious Pad Ke-Mao and my girlfriend having the Green Curry Vegetables, the same server brought us a delicious banana and milk dessert as well as some cripsy fried pastry covered in some kind of delicious glaze. They definity know how to treat their first time customers. Definitely turned us into return customers. Going to book new years eve for our family dinner. Great place. Definitely go.

Super small and really busy. Usually a good sign of great food. We waited a long time to get a table and since we were rushing for lunch, we opted for the buffet. It was decent. Green and Red Curry Chicken were pretty good. The Pad Thai was meh. For $8, you can't go wrong, but be prepared to wait if you have a party larger than 2.

This is the real Thai food for me in Tampa since i came here 8 months and try Thai restaurant 5-6 place around Tampa. They have special original Chili paste from south of Thailand (hot , original Thai herb and tasty). I talk with owner and ask for real Thai spicy that i miss a lot and they are special cook it for me name "Jungle curry pork" (don't have in menu) ... and WOWWW yess it is , taste that i miss from south Thailand. It is super hot and feel herb. This is a first place that make me feel fulfill from my country. Other that i like is "Garlic pork ribs" and "Thai Donuts". It is good too! If you want to try real spicy Thai Taste and Good service ... try this one .. small place but good food..

Good Thai. Not awesome Thai. It was a little bland, but it could been the chicken lemongrass dish I ordered.

I was catching a quick business lunch with a friend the other day and said I was in the mood for Thai.. he suggested Lemon Grass because they had a great buffet and I said "Let's Give It a Try". Surprised to say I found it really good and I'm craving it again. It's a small hole in the wall kinda place and the parking situation is really really poor but besides that the Buffet at $7.99 is an AWESOME deal! The food was fresh and tasted fantastic. The red curry and Pad Thai were both really good and the soups had great flavor and a nice variety of choices. The fried rice was also really seasoned well and not bland at all. I was also pleasantly surprised that they had a lot of Chicken choices instead of Pork (since I don't eat pork products). The only dish I was "so so" on was the Lemon Grass Chicken which looked like a green curry. Honestly it was really bland and didn't have any get up go kick of flavor. It wasn't really a big deal though as everything else was a knockout. I also rarely eat chicken wings but OMG were they good! The spring rolls were also a home run. This place's lunch buffet is a gem & I can't wait to go again.

Been there 3 times. 1) First time was great and we loved the place 2) The food was good until we found a few pieces of hair sticking out of our spring rolls and pad Thai 3) The third time we went during lunch to give the place another try and the whole place smelled like a dirty cat box. I had to leave a lot earlier than I planned because the smell was making me sick. Advice: Find another Thai place

Good quality food. I wish they delivered, but my wife and I make due with driving a few miles from the Channel District down Kennedy to pick it up. The inside of the restaurant is very clean but generic. The staff is extremely friendly and service is quick. They do a great job matching the heat level of the food to your particular taste. A can't miss option in my opinion for Thai.

Came down to Tampa to visit my buddy for the week. I'm from CT, I have have a few local joints in my town to compare to. Was in the mood for Thai tonight and wanted him to experience Thai food. I liked the looks of the place as we pulled into the mini parking lot. I wanted a Mom & Pop operation and that's what it is. What a down to earth, charming restaurant this place is. Our waitress, the grand daughter of the owners was very sweet and accommodating. Nothing wrong with the service there, and it's authentically cooked by Thai chefs!... The meals weren't disappointing at all. Had one app and 2 entrees and 2 ice teas. All delicious, for an appetizer we ordered Tod Mon (Ton Mon? Can't recall) - a fried fish cake simply put. Great sauce. I had the chicken pumpkin curry, sounded interesting, and it was awesome, had bits of pumpkin in it. My buddy had type of red curry I can't remember, he was very impressed. The ice teas, can't go wrong with them any where. Had a fantastic experience, good setting, outdoor seating available, very clean washrooms. I really want this place to do well. I hope others will try it out.

So far, this is the best Thai place I've been to in Tampa. The menu selection is nice, the service is excellent, and the place is comfortable to sit and eat. I've never been disappointed in any of the food here. I only rated them a 4, because I've been to other Thai restaurants and the food was better. Overall the place was nice and they have a few tables to sit outside and eat at.

Blah Thai. Certainly not the "Best Thai in Tampa" as the sign proclaims! The food was edible, but overcooked and completely unimaginative. I specified "Thai Spicy" and my Massaman Curry was barely spicy at all. I had to dump a ton of hot sauce in it. The place also has zero atmosphere. It's like eating in the lobby of a cheap motel. Definitely will not return and advise others to avoid.

Good quality Thai food. The service is great and the portions are adequate. My favorite dish there is pad thai with shrimp.

We went here for dinner last night. It's small inside, with some outside seating. The decorum, is well somewhat tacky, but you can't always judge a restaurant by it's cover, there are plenty of shacks that have amazing food. I had the pad kaprow, Thai hot, which had me sweating within minutes. It was super hot, but I have to say I liked Jasmine's serving of this better. Lemon Grasses' version while super hot, had little flavor. Chelsea got the Yellow curry, which was ok, but I definitely have had better. The waitress told us they grow their own vegetables, which I thought was awesome. Their service was on-time. All-in-all it wasn't bad, but it wasn't exceptional either. I would recommend this for a lunch, or stop-by if your in the neighborhood, but would not go out of my way to come here for Thai. I guess I still have to rank Jasmine as my favorite Thai food in Tampa.

The service was good and the food was decent. I came in with a co-worker right when they were closing the lunch buffet down and the waitress still let us grab a plate of whatever they had left for free, since they were just going to toss it out anyway. I didn't care too much for the buffet (I'm not a buffet fan because when cooks make food in mass, that's when they lack in the taste department...quantity but no quality. You know what I mean?), but it was nice for my co-worker since he never had Thai food. He was able to try a little bit of everything they had left to get a general idea of what he would and wouldn't like. Anyway, they had decent Thai food and good service. Not one of my faves; I'll keep you posted when I have finally found one in Tampa.
