Abby's Health & Nutrition has been a Carrollwood staple since 1997, offering organic, gluten-free, non-GMO, and paleo friendly foods to the community. Founded by owner Abby Sayler, a well regarded nutrition expert, the store is staffed by experts with dozens of years of experience in the organic and health field. Abby's is located in the same shopping center as Brunchies and 4Rivers Smokehouse along N. Dale Mabry. The store has a big variety of vitamins and nutritional supplements, along with healthy-alternative cleaning supplies, cosmetics, and health and beauty items. I found my allergen-free liquid laundry detergent, and happily scooped up two containers. They also had a dishwashing liquid made with grapefruit extract -- oh yes, you're coming home with me too! Their fresh produce area is 100% organic with all sorts of delicious fruits, veggies, and fresh-squeezed juices. I picked up some organic broccoli crowns and baby bok choy. and used them in a delicious veggie stir fry the next day. I'm not much of a power bar kinda guy, but Abby's had a whole aisle devoted to sports nutrition and healthy crunchy things to stuff in a gym bag. They looked really good, so I picked up a couple of bars to put in my Go Bag for those times when I have to dash into work without the opportunity to eat a proper meal. There were aisles of pastas, crackers, and cookies suitable for any kind of allergies, and a big section of bulk foods, dried fruits, seeds, nuts, and grains. There's a selection of organic wines, almond milk, healthy teas, local honey, and raw foods as well. What really caught my eye was the very back of the store where Abby's has set up their café, serving fresh, delicious, organic and natural deli items which includes many vegetarian, gluten free and raw dishes prepared by their chef and baker daily. You can either order food to eat right their in the café area, or ask them to pack up your selection to take home. A very helpful lady answered all of my questions and helped me to select a lemon-dill filet of sustainably-raised salmon, and a fantastic cold pad thai dish made with zucchini noodles and shredded veggies. YUM! I need to go back after the first of the year to have some discussions with their nutritionist and chat about different vitamins and supplements. I'm certainly happy to recommend a local, small business that offers such a great selection of products, and has a staff of people willing to talk with you and provide some great advice.

I really like this store. It has lots of healthy alternatives when it comes to groceries. Not only can you find good foods and snacks but you can find alternative products from deodorants, laundry soap, supplements, a fresh deli, juice bar, and they conduct classes all the time. I have been to Nutrition Smart and I just don't get the same vibe.

I love Abby's. They always have exactly what I am looking for and then some. I really appreciate how knowledgeable their staff is about their products as well. I have found some really great items that I have become hooked on. They also make some really great food that I have recently just tried. Their chicken salad is so delicious, I buy some every time I go there. I highly recommend for a great selection of healthy food, supplements, etc. they are also very reasonably priced.

My family and I shop here multiple times throughout the week. The staff is always courteous and helpful. Believe it or not I enjoy Abby's better than Whole Foods. I can count on everything that I purchase being organic. Although the store is smaller than most, there is a huge selection. Everything is always fully stocked.

I have always receive great nutritional information whether I'm in the store or on the phone. Abby's team never makes you feel rushed, you can ask numerous questions and they always take the time to answer. The best place to get nutritional supplements!

I enjoyed the shopping experience and the great staff, very helpful. I will be back to shop until I drop -- all the natural or healthy snacks and products I enjoy are here.

Abby's is THE best natural foods store in Tampa, no doubt about it. If you're looking for a certain supplement then chances are they have it in stock. There's also a great grocery section and a deli in the back offering smoothies and yummy wraps. I also appreciate how strongly Abby's is against GMO foods and how they side with the Non-GMO Project. They certainly do their research and will not carry an item if it's from genetically modified sources. That's a huge plus for me. It's REALLY nice to do some grocery shopping and not have to wonder about every item you pick up.

Abby's is amazing. They have everything I ever need. I love that there is so much in one place: the supplements, the market, & the cafe. The staff is friendly and helpful & every trip there has been enjoyable. Also love all the free little magazines. Check it out!

I wish I had a million dollars to spend in this place. There is a huge difference between the vitamins you get from this place as opposed to other retailers. The deli is great, the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about all of their products, and even though some things are pricey, you know you're paying for quality. I work within walking distance from this store and I try to make it in every day to get a wheat grass power shot from the smoothie/deli section.

If healthy tastes this good, why would you eat anything else? My fav true health food store with the largest selection of true "whole" foods in Tampa. I appreciate that the food sold here is made with real ingredients. Even the pre-made snacks like cookies, crackers, etc are mostly all preservative free. What a concept! (take notes, Whole Foods!) Check out their frozen food section: Amazing. The frozen dinners actually *taste* good and are filling. Lots of gluten free options too. Not a huge produce selection - but you can always pick up something fresh and green for your side veggie, be it salad or green beans. Very good vitamin and supplement selection and a knowledgeable staff to help you find the best product for your needs. Oh and don't miss the beauty products and lotions. Good stuff.

This makes healthy eating so much easier! This is grocery store/deli that provides a quick and easy lunch spot. The deli located in the back has an ever changing, wide variety of delicious options for dining in or taking out! Try their various quinoa dishes or a hot plate with turkey picadillo, braised greens, sweet potato baked wedges...the list goes on and on! Prices are good too, for about $10 you can get a good sized meal.

I love this place. I greatly missed my local co-op from my hometown and here was where I could find a lot of my natural ingredients and such that I couldn't find elsewhere. They have a great selection. They have a delicious bakery (try the carrot cake!). I found my dulse flakes here, my spirulina, natural oils, and kefir starter. They are super helpful as well. They let you know that they are there to help in any way you need in the least obtrusive way possible. Then when you are clueless as to where some things are, they are fully willing to run all over the store to show you where everything is.

There is an awesome selection here. The deli is great. I would recommend the kale salad, the maple salmon, and the gluten-free cookies. Abby is also very helpful, always around, and willing to give completely free consultations, which is kind of nuts given that all the independent health food stores that offer consultations usually want to charge like $50.

Abby's is the original hometown natural grocery store- before Whole Foods, Fresh Market, and Trader Joe's dominated the marketplace. I come here early mornings before work (they open at 8 a.m.) or on my lunch break to enjoy the foods at Cafe Eden. The one thing I've noticed ever time I've come here is how there is usually about 5 staff members stocking everything and making the shelves look immaculate. It's nice to see such attention to detail in the store. If you go to Abby's you must get a juice or smoothie made to order. The price tag is kind of steep ($6+) but it is well worth it and they have a large variety of bases, fresh veggies, fruits, and supplements that they pack in each sip! The wraps are not to be missed. Today, I had a delicious kale, carrot, garlic, and chicken meatball soup. There is also a decent-sized salad bar and cold items in the deli counter like fish, vegan pizza, chilled pastas, and grilled veggies. Great place to shop around and browse the various groceries and vitamins, grab lunch, and a smoothie!

I used to frequent Abbys. They always had the one obscure item you couldn't find anywhere else. I like their store, it is chock full of little hidden wonders. It is always clean and has a very knowledgeable staff. I must admit their prices are pretty steep. That is the main reason I don't go there very often. I found another place down Dale Mabry a bit, that has much lower prices for the same exact items. Well, I found myself in need of an obscure item and Abbys did not disapoint, they had it in stock. I will continue to use this store for items I am unable to find elsewhere. What's a girl to do ? Occasionally one needs an obscure item.

Lots of selection at Abby's. Probably the most I have seen in any store in the area. This is where I go after brunchies breakfast. They have organic food, gluten free food, and a good seLeCtion of healthy stuff u would see at like a whole foods. I come in here and browse through all the different types of vitamins on the market. Pretty cool and can be overwhelming at the same time. If you have questions, there's always someone to help you. There r foods at the cafe. Haven't tried them yet. There are even nice tables to sit and have your snack or lunch either inside or outside. I will definitely be back here.

When visiting Abby's to pick up vitamins, health and beauty products or groceries Cafe Eden is a must stop. I always grab some sort of green juice. They recently started adding chia seeds to any juice or smoothie for free. I also add the green powder which gives some sweetness without guilt to a healthy drink. From the bar I love the curry chicken salad and orzo pasta. I haven't taken a class or attended a lecture at Abby's, but they're available and I would if I had more free time. I actually like to keep the Abby's magazine in the bathroom at home! I know TMI, but it's how I keep up with natural news. :)

Big fan of Abby's. Come here for the juice bar and the deli, good selection a bit pricey. I've been to many Organic markets, if I had to choose only one, I'd still choose Trader Joe's. Abby's is not too shabby, I will continue coming here for the great service, the deli and free seminars when I can. these seminars are meant to better educate the public on making healthy choices. We could use more places like Abby's.

You know the 80/20 rule? 20% of your staff will do 80% of the work... 80% of your business will come from 20% of the people that shop there... Im positive I used to be in the 20% of people that gave Abby 80% of her business..... The store is great, but I don't shop there anymore, because of this... I walked in 1 night 7 minutes before closing time. I was well aware of the time. I had a list on my phone of things to get that was probably worth $100-150. The first isle I walked into, I pulled out my phone to start going through the list. Abby was in there, and saw me pull out my phone. She immediately told me they closed in 5 minutes. I looked at her and said "I have until 9:30, right?" She replied "9:30 sharp." If I didn't need the food I was picking up for a dinner party the following day I would have left. I didn't think that's very good customer service, especially from the owner, and I've chosen to shop other places since then.

Great selection. Like Whole Foods on a smaller, more intimate scale. Nice cafe with rotisserie chicken and other prepped goods. The produce selection is a bit small. The prices are comparable to most health food stores. Great tea selection.

Abby's is a great one stop shop for anyone conscious of their health. You've got organic, non-GMO, gluten free and paleo friendly options across the board. They have vitamins and protein shakes to shampoos and protein bars. They have cereals, a mini fresh mart area, frozen foods, wine, snacks -- I highly reccomend Boom Chicka Pop! -- Anything your little health conscious mind can imagine. Not to mention their eat-in cafe food selection just blows my mind. Everything is phenomenally tasty and all the ingredients are organic and listed right there for you to see so you know exactly everything you are putting in your body. They can heat it up for you or you can take away. It's great to pop in when I didn't have time the night before to make a lunch. They also have fresh fruit and veggie juices. I always end up spending way too much at this place -- you do pay for quality. But I am never disappointed taste wise and it's food you can feel good about, literally. Your body will thank you.
