Well I don't ever give negative reviews, BUT when we are treated the way we were treated upon entering this place today here's the first. Never got to eat, never got to sit. Walked in the lady gave us a scowl and rudely asked how many. Then tries to give us a table that is clearly an add on table for large parties next to a large table of kids running around. We said can we have another table (which there were plenty). She looked at us with distane and said well I have reservations so I can't?!... really in this dump? On a a Sunday afternoon? I feel like I know discrimination first hand for the first time in life... NEVER AGAIN.

Sebastian is not a gastronomic haven, BUT, Mobay is an epicurean island in a sea of dining mediocrity. Coming from Hawaii where top shelf seafood is plentiful, I must say that the grouper dish I had was outstanding! Haven't been to their new location, but we will be there soon.

Third trip to Vero and wanted to explore north. Saw the reviews and decided to check this place out. AMAZING food. Had the spinach and crab dip and fried plantains to start and both were wonderful. With entrees we had the jerk chicken pasta, the crab cake and the grilled mahi mahi and all three were wonderful. Small place so I wouldn't head there with a huge group but kind service and great menu

Really good rice and beans and plantains. The vegetable stew was subpar and the vegetables in other dishes were flavorless and watery. Friendly staff.

The staff was warm & welcoming despite our rather large & late family. We ordered a variety of recommended dishes so everyone could have a taste. WOW! is the best word to describe the generous portions of delicious food. Make sure you save room for dessert!!! Compliments to the Chef & the staff! Looking forward to seeing you next year!

Authentic Jamaican food that is out of this world! Started with Red Stripes and the Quesadilla-flavor was too good for words...I dined on the Jamaican Jerk Mahi, mashed sweet potatoes and added a side of plantains-all were spectacular! My husband dined on the Jerk Pork Chops, rice and beans and veggies-one of the best pork dishes he has ever tried. Easily rivals the best meal I have had while visiting Jamaica-easily at the top of our local list....And love the new location!

Please note they moved to 1401 Indian River Drive. The food and service were awesome. This was the best meal we had in Sebastian. We really like Sebastian but we were not impressed with the food so far ( been here 4 days). We are a little jaded in that we travel a lot and live in Key Largo where it's hard to find a bad meal. Highly recommend Mo-Bay!

My mom had the oxtail, my dad the half jerk chicken and me the jerk ribeye with garlic mash potatoes and veggies. For my appetizer the cod fish fritters... Omg. I'm in heaven. After the appetizers, the chef came out to walk the room. Several guest thanked him for his artistry. I couldn't even finish everything but enjoyed my meal thoroughly. I guess tomorrow's lunch is gonna be the BOMB!!!! I would absolutely come back again, again, and again!!!!

I cannot give enough praises to MoBay Grill. We had seen something posted on Facebook with a Banana Walnut French Toast that just looked too appetising to pass up. We stopped in just at opening and from the beginning felt right at home. The staff was professional, warm and prompt. We were seated right away and our server, Anthony, was a gem. He was right there with coffee refills and a friendly attitude without having to seek him out. The food was absolutely amazing. We were drawn in by the french toast but I was quickly seduced by the homemade corned beef hash and Banana Walnut pancakes. The coffee was fresh, the mimosas were refreshing (what? Who doesn't drink at breakfast on a weekend?) and the view was breathtaking from the big windows overlooking the Inlet. I was easily expecting to break the bank for 3 of us because it was well worth it but when the check came, I was very happily surprised at how reasonable the prices were. I found it particularly nice that the owner came around while we were seated and made a point of introducing himself to everyone in the restaurant. A man dedicated to his business will always get mine. I can't wait to go back and try dinner ... or another breakfast ... Well done!

First time at Mo Bay Grill today. It didn't disappoint! Service was excellent from start to finish, and our food was delicious. I think we have a new favorite Sebastian restaurant now. The owner/chef was visible and appeared to really care about everyone's dining experience. I hope to see this restaurant continue to do well for the owners and staff, but mostly because I want the great food and service when I return (regularly).

I've never been to Jamaica but this place makes me feel I have! Jamaican inspired foods, drinks, and look. The jerk chicken is messy but fabulous and the cucumber salad is very refreshing to go along with it. The Shrimp soup was really flavorful but I wish it had some shrimp in it. When is Flordia look this place up it doesn't dissapoint!

This grill is one of the best best restaurants in Florida! Totally 5 stars !the crab cake does Maryland proud. Chef puts together amazing combinations that aren't normally found together and it works! (High 5 Boat). Our waitress, Tiffany totally steered us in the right direction and knew exactly what the kids needed.

Just finished breakfast here and it was great. I had the egg white omelet, which was awesome. My daughter had the pumpkin pancake and she said it was 10 out of 10. My grandma said she has not eaten that much in a very long time. I guess hers was a winner as well. Great job Chef Wesley

Was here for breakfast over the weekend with my mom and really enjoyed their food. We came in just in time to still get breakfast too which is what we were craving for ! Reasonably priced and a cute little place. The French toast was really good and I liked the option of a short stack.. My mom ordered a $3.99 special that came with 2 Eggs, toast, a choice of meat and potatoes. I was really impressed with the amount of food for the price. We also shared the fruit platter to start off with. I wish there was a little more of a variety but was still good. Strawberries could've been a little sweeter but overall was yummy. Looking forward to going back and trying some other things on the menu and dinner too. The codfish cakes caught my eye, so hoping next time I get there for lunch/dinner.

Best meal and dining experience. Conch fritters were delicious, and the shrimp pepper soup was good. I did have to add just a little bit of hot sauce to the soup. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich was good for my grandson. He absolutely loved the chocolate seduction cake. Jim had the brown stewed chicken. He loved it although he would've preferred the chicken off the bone.

Best food I had in town. They have an extensive menu and everything ordered was spot on. The drinks were well made and friendly service! Downside is they close at 9pm. While a clean and quaint restaurant, little was memorable about the environment itself. It's walking distance from other places open later with music.

"Best Food in Sebastian," says my bf who has lived here for over six years. I ordered the chicken and crab with a spinach mash. Not much needs to be said about what I had. Just look at the picture. Good, fresh, flavorful food. The service is also very good. The venue is just the right size for the small population and there is a small bar area that looks nice for dinner dates. We will definitely be back very, very soon.

This place is awesome! The food is authentic Jamaican cuisine and it is delicious! I had the Jerk Mahi Mahi, others had the Jerk Chicken and the Jerk Pork Ribeye. All were excellent. The owner/chef came out to say hello and see if our meal was good. It's fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. It's a busy place so make reservations.

Impressive!!!! We were greeted by a very sweet lady, who asked if we'd ever visited before. Since we had not, she explained their specials and menu. Our server Anthony was cordial and right on key, constantly checking on us. My husband and I shared an appetizer of conch fritters. There were approximately 10 of them, and they were FANTASTIC! My husband had the jerk shrimp kabobs with a coconut corn bread, which he really enjoyed! For my meal I chose the Escovitch Red Snapper with rice and peas, and a coleslaw salad. AMAZING! Not only were our meals spectacular, presentation was top notch! The location offers a beautiful view of the waterway, as well. I cannot wait to return on our next trip!

Oh. My. God. This is a must-go-to restaurant. This restaurant should be a feature of Sebastion, FL. It should be featured in travel magazines as a reason to visit Sebastion. I am not kidding. Let's start with the service. Or waitress was a very sweet young lady who was a bit forgetful at times but very attentive. She wasn't the best waitress we've ever had, but she did a very good job. The chef came out to check on us and see how everything was. We complemented him on the excellent quality of the food and how much enjoyment we received from it. I'll talk about the food more in a moment... The cocktails. The cocktails were excellent! The ingredients were high quality and they were made very well. I had the Island Sunset and my wife had the Blue Isle. They were quite sweet, as they should be, so we could only drink one each. Okay so the food! Wow! I had read some of the reviews, but this just blew me away! I had the crab cake with sweet potato pancakes and it was one of the most memorable meals I have had in my life. Damn that was some good food! My wife had the whole red snapper. Now both of these meals were beautiful, but the whole red snapper was astounding! What a beautiful plating! And the taste was just amazing! I'm not a big fish fan, but I would have eaten that entire fish. After finishing or entrees, we decided that we definitely needed to get dessert. That was one of the best decisions we've ever made. We ended up trying a sample of the homemade coconut rice pudding. It tasted very good, but we didn't think we would like an entire serving of it. So we decided to get the chocolate seduction and the caramelized banana cheesecake. They brought the chocolate dessert out first and we both tried it. It was excellent! Soon after the brought out the cheesecake... It kicked the chocolate desserts butt! Dear god that had to be done of the best cheesecake I've ever had. That caramelized banana rum sauce was just amazing! We even ordered one to go to bring back to the rest of the family. I can't praise this restaurant enough. If you find yourself near Sebastion, FL make a special stop here. It will be well worth your time!

Drove from Melbourne, FL area to dine here after seeing a good coupon. Small place in a shopping center on US 1 in Sebastian, which has a Publix. Owner was cordial. Delicious cup of fish chowder, followed by nice-size basket with plenty of fries and his own breading on fried shrimp. Lots of shrimp, too. Dessert was plain rice pudding. Total bill including tip = $16(I only had water). Interesting entries. Might drive back again, especially if there is someone with me. Great price Very pleased.

We drove up from Jupiter to visit my favorite childhood vacation spot. There were lots of dining options with views of the ocean and such, but my husband and I are food snobs and prefer excellent food over ambiance. I really appreciate the elevated approach to Caribbean cuisine. Our favorite dishes were the amazing conch fritters which were light and airy with good amount of conch; and Jamaican patties that were no doubt made fresh that day, with the perfect ratio of meat to pastry and just the right heat. My husband is from Queens, New York and knows a good patty. The sweet and spicy pineapple wings were so tasty, though I should have asked for crispy. The banana rum cheesecake was a great end to our lunch. The champagne was amazing but they need at least one or two craft beers to keep the foodies happy. The price was very good compared to Jupiter! Chef came out to greet everyone. He clearly cares about his patrons' experience. The servers were very nice and accommodating. We will be back for dinner!

We checked yelp for a dinner spot and were happy with our selection! Mo Bay Grill was good, fresh, reasonable and had a nice comfortable feel. Don't let the strip mall fool you! My dinner was the grouper special and the portion was large and delicious! Hubby had the seafood paella which was a nice Caribbean flavored change. Good, non touristy spot! And it was a pleasure meeting the chef/owner Wesley Cambell.

Worth a trip. Conch fritters on point and the mahi mahi salad was one of the best salads I've ever had. It was so fresh and the dressing matched the flavors perfectly. Zesty, crispy and bursting with flavor.

Was really excited after seeing all the good reviews however I have to say I was kinda disappointed after growing up with a Jamaican best friend and sampling their homemade food. First the water tasted awful like Chlorine. Service was slow even though we were one of two tables in there. Another server, not ours, was incessantly flirting with me and my mother which made it uncomfortable and unprofessional. While waiting for our food, a server walked in with bags from Publix and dropped off a "fruit cup" to the other table. They quickly complained it tasted like it was canned fruit. The server said the chef tried cutting the fresh fruit last week, obviously not this week. I ordered the Jerk Chicken stuffed with spinach, was good but the sauce was extra salty and syrupy. My mother ordered a fish sandwich, which looked a lot like a breaded frozen filet, and had no flavor. I really wanted to order the Oxtail but was unaware of the high prices before visiting just for a lunch. The only reason this place gets 3 stars was the Banana Rum Cheesecake. It was delicious, and the sauce made all the difference. I wouldn't return unless it was just for dessert or maybe to try dinner service which they may be more prepared for.

Mo Bay is the best restaurant not only in Sebastian but probably in a good 30 mile radius. The chef is awesome and a lot of times when not buy will personally come out to the table to check in with his guests. The specials are always amazing. Plan on spending about $20-$25 per person but it is so worth it!!

This is a small town restaurant with big time taste, I challenge you to try everything on the menu.... Everything made fresh to order and presentation is wonderful. New location is a big hit. We just love chef he always comes out to see how your meal was. If you don't like Mo Bay go back to Olive Gareden because your taste buds are gone.

  • Team Asphalt W.

Outstanding! Service was very attentive and enthusiastic. But the food...was one of the best the four of us had enjoyed anywhere. Conch fritters delish. Whole snapper was beautifully presented and the fish was moist. The sauce was ginger and scallion and maybe a little spicy for some palettes so have it on the side. The vegetables were delicious. We're talking vegetables...cooked just right and great flavor. Ended the meal with rum, banana sauce over cheesecake. Super yummy. If there is any negative it's that the acoustics are not great and it can get noisy but it didn't interfere with us enjoying this fabulous meal! Other dishes were the grouper with browned pecan butter and coconut encrusted snapper. All wonderful. Does this review have too many accolades?? Mo Bay deserves them.

The food was very good. We weren't sure and so decided to try the early bird our first time. Huge mistake. We aren't big eaters and typically leave with leftovers from other restaurants, even with the smaller early bird specials. My husband had the parmesan encrusted chicken over linguine. Two small medallions of chicken. Needless to say he had a sandwich when we got home. I would go back to try the full meal, but he's turned off for good.

We stopped around 1:00 Saturday afternoon. Waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge and seat us. We didn't see anyone with food in the almost full dining room. Two different people came up to the bar complaining that one of the party had been served but not the other. We finally left without ever being noticed.

It may look like a hole in the wall (just another place in a strip mall) but the food was 5 star!! Great specials, fresh fish, friendly service. Don't pass by this place. It was awesome!

  • McKayla M.

Small little place tucked in a strip mall. But dont let that fool you. The food makes up for it! I went in for lunch and ordered the Curry chicken roti wrap. It was good, not overly favored but not bad. I probably wouldnt order it again though. Plus it didnt come with any sides. My mom ordered the Jerked Chicken pocket. I got to try that, and it was YUMMY! So juicy and favorful..and the cucumber salad was delicious as well. This is something to try, trust me!! Next time im in this area, ill be dining here again!

Worth the drive. Wish I lived closer. I just moved my brother down from Long Island, NY and found this on Restaurant.com . Great food and service. Where do you get the owner to come to your table and asked you what you liked? Top Chef in this hole in the wall. Waitress too was from Jamaica. We had Conch Fritters, Fried Plantains and Jamaican Quesadilas for Appetizers. Best Conch Fritters ( better than Key West ) Plantains were perfect and Quesadilas were the bomb !!! Need to get FN Guy Fieri here. I had the Rum Jerk Shrimp Kabobs which was perfect and my brother had the Jamaican Style Seafood Paella. The food was excellent and had to take home half since we were stuffed. I got the Pepper Pot Shrimp Soup and Coconut Rice Pudding to go and both were to die for. I live in KC and wish there was a place like this locally. Just sent my brother a gift certificate for his birthday too. One of the best meals I ever had in FL. Can't wait to go back when I visit. They even have Red Stripe beer mon !!!!

  • Baroque P.

The food here is truly to die for. The Roti & Caribbean Reuban are excellent and true to form as Caribbean cuisine. The service is slow so it's not a good place if you're in a hurry. They do have homemade corned beef on their breakfast menu. It's served daily though they're only open during breakfast hours on the weekends. You can still order the breakfast items during the weekdays but it'll be during the lunch hours.

We went here to celebrate my mother's birthday. We all were first timers at Mo Bay Grill but had received numerous positive recommendations. The establishment is small and could be cramped if it happened to be busy. Fortunately there was a sparse group of people. I orders the Island Punch which was very refreshing. The cod fritters were tasty, even my fiancé whose a finicky eater thought they were good. Our main reason for going was to try the crab cakes. Being from Maryland, my mom and I can stop imposter crab cakes a mile away. Prior to going we were told the owner worked in the DC Metropolitan area as a chef so my mom was excited to get an authentic crab cake dinner. The dish was great. Lots of crab meat with not much filler but there was gravy on it which she wasn't use to on that dish. The sides were delicious as well. Although it's a little pricey, I would recommend going to this restaurant.

Impressed to say the least...FANTASTIC Food, drove down US 1 and the Jamaican flag caught my eye....pulled into an unassuming strip mall and found a little piece of the island in Florida...the service was good, the food outstanding ...presentation to taste AMAZING....I'm not a spice fan so don't let the " it's too spicy " thing , the food is tasteful, not covered up by additives.....we ordered the brown stewed chicken and an order of the oxtail....it was not only delicious but beautifully crafted on our plates...the chef in the kitchen clearly takes pride in their creations...the food was fantastic...not two forkfuls in we placed orders to take home...oxtail for myself and curried goat for my friend! Cannot recommend this place enough! Will return every time I'm Florida . 5 stars plus *****

Best restaurant in Sebastian! Great food and friendly service. We had the muscle appetizer and whole snapper and the shrimp and lobster pasta for entrees, the banana rum cheesecake for desert delicious.

I have been to the Mo Bay Grill on two occasions and both times left me very happy indeed. Prices are reasonable and the steak with blue cheese crumbles meted in my mouth as did the hot ginger infused cabbage side dish. Order a glass of wine with your meal and don't be afraid to ask for menu suggestions. Delicious dinners can be found at mo Bay Grill.

My husband and I tried this place last night for the first time, and we will be returning as often as we can. The chef's creations are wonderful and unique, and the flavors, particularly the cucumber salad and the curried tiger prawns, are very pleasing to the palate. I don't think there is a word to describe the banana rum cheesecake. The closest I can attempt is exquisite. I have NEVER tasted cheesecake like that! His is a one of a kind: smooth and light and the sauce is divine! There was quite a selection on the menu, and I can't wait to go back and try the curried goat or the MD crab cakes.

I wanted to love this place, I really did. I liked the atmosphere, the music, the waitress was very nice and the tropical iced tea was lovely. But the food could have been better. I will try it again shortly and report back.

This is our favorite place to eat in Sebastian. The food is cooked to perfection and the atmosphere makes you really feel like you're in Jamaica. The parmesan encrusted haddock over Angel hair pasta is heaven. Last night I had the stuffed jerk chicken. It was amazing. We have never left room for dessert but they look delicious. We highly recommend this place. It is fabulous.

Excellent Food and Service! I live in Sebastian and always forget about this place! I won't forget about it any longer. We started with the Pepper Pot Soup and their cucumber salad, which were delicous! For dinner we had the Grouper Special and the Curry Goat, one came with Mashed Sweet Potatoes and the other Spinach Mashed Potoatoes! Both dinners and potatoes were really good and different. Portions were a good size too. No room for dessert, but they sounded amazing! Waitress was extremely helpful and friendly! Why have I not been going here more often? Oh, and did I mention the Tropical Iced Tea! Can't wait to go again and try some of the other dishes!

The food here is pretty good. I like the jerk chicken pocket. The cucumber salad is great. Everytime I have gone there it is always chilly so you may want to bring a sweater.

We first heard about mo bays from a family friend who knew our love for Jamaican food. Mo bays Is located in a strip mall right off US1 in Sebastian. It is a small unassuming place tucked in the corner. At first glance you would figure that this would be your run of the mill beef patty serving "Jamaican" restaurant. You however would be sadly mistaken. I have not checked, but I'm pretty sure there is no Jamaican patties served here. What is served here is quality food prepared with fresh ingredients & a lot of flavor. I have had various dishes all flavorful in a unique way. Even down to the island sweet tea which seems to be infused with some type of fruit syrup that makes it light & refreshing. The owner makes sure to come out, and thank you for your business with every meal. We have frequented this place often, and will continue to do so.

There is a chef here, not a cook! Food here is amazing and fresh. Delicious! Wide variety menu with something for everyone. I had the whole crispy red snapper. Wonderful!

My husband and I went to Mo Bay at the suggestion of one of the employees at a skydive operation down the road and we loved it! We ordered the ginger pineapple juice drink, the stuffed jerk chicken, and the blackened mahi mahi. Everything was absolutely delicious and we definitely will stop by next time we are in the area for some of their banana rum cheesecake that looked so good.

  • Sandy C.

Husband and I enjoyed a grouper special. Delicious ...and the veggies that were on the plate were terrific, as well. We took the advice and had the amazing banana foster cheesecake...WOW...don t miss it. We are here for a week's vacation and plan to head back to this restaurant. Decor is nothing too exciting and if they turned down the lights a bit, that might help. The food was with the trip!!!

  • Wise G.

The food is very good ... the reason for only four stars is it is too expensive! Very bright, clean, and tropical inside! An interesting place as far as the food and decor. A true Carribbean atmosphere with warm and friendly service. The She-Crab Soup was excellent (should've ordered more) and the Mahi~Mahi dinner couldn't have been better ... very fresh and moist ... cooked just right! Keep in mind that the portions are small so if you are extremely hungry, this place is not for you. Regardless of price and portion, this is an authentic Jamaican cuisine that everyone should try!

Mo Bay is a great little place, it does not do a ton of advertising and does not have to b/c it has a word of mouth appeal. It is owned by Jamaican chef Wesley Campbell and his menu is Jamaican comfort food @ it's best. The breakfast has non - funky favorites too, the corn beef hash is something to write home about , the mango smoothie, I cannot pass up. For lunch the fried chicken with herb is just fabulous... I could go on and on. The Banana rum cheesecake is a must, it haunts my hungry moments. Hope you all like it as much as we do :) PS!- OH MY! The Irish Girl almost forgot the beer. They have Red Stripe!
